Possible molecular states of $\bar D^{*}K^{*}$ ($ D^{*}K^{*}$) and the new exotic states $X_0(2900)$ and $X_1(2900)$ ($T^a_{cs0}(2900)^0$ and $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^{++}$)

Two iso-singlet hadron states $X_0(2900)$ and $X_1(2900)$ with $J=0$ and 1 respectively, discovered by the LHCb collaboration in 2020, were identified as molecular bound states of $\bar D^*K^*$. Recently two structures $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^0$ and $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^{++}$ have been observed at the hadron spectra, one would suspect if they also are molecular states of $D^*$ and $K^*$. As long as they were of the molecular structures of $D^*K^*$, the hadron states must be in an iso-vector, namely $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^0$ and $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^{++}$ were $I_3=-1, 1$ components of the iso-vector. If it is the case, the corresponding $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^+$ of ($I=1,I_3=0$) and $T^{'a}_{cs0}(2900)^{+}$ of $I=0,I_3=0$ so far evade experimental observation, but should be found by the future experiments. To testify this ansatz, in this paper we study the possible molecular structures of $\bar D^{*}K^{*}$ and $D^{*}K^{*}$ within the Bethe-Salpeter (B-S) framework. With reasonable input parameters it is found that $\bar D^{*}K^{*}$ iso-scalar systems with $J^P=0^+$ and $1^+$ are solutions. The result supports the ansatz of $X_0(2900)$ ($X_1(2900)$) being molecular states of $\bar D^*K^{*}$. Whereas for the system of $ D^{*}K^{*}$ with $I=1$ the corresponding B-S equation has no solution. Thus we can draw a clear conclusion that $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^0$ and $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^{++}$ should not be bound states of $ D^{*}$ and $K^{*}$. The two structures observed by the LHCb collaboration may be caused by dynamics, such as the well-recognized triangle anomalies or other mechanisms.

Can the hyperfine mass splitting formula in heavy quarkonia be applied to the $B_c$ system?

The mass relation ${M_{0^{+}}+3M_{1^{+\prime}}+5M_{2^{+}}= 9M_{1^{+}}}$ miraculously holds for the $P$-wave charmonium $(c\bar{c})$ and bottomonium $(b\bar{b})$ systems with soaring precision. The origin of such relation can be addressed from Quark Models, and have been confirmed experimentally in a limited number of cases. In this connection, we propose $M_{0^{+}}+5M_{2^{+}}=3(M_{1^{+\prime}}+M_{1^{+}})$ as an extension to the $P$-wave $B_{c}$ case. In order to test its applicability, we employ a variety of Quark Model predictions for the $B_c$ mass spectrum. Our numerical analysis confirms such formula is accurate up to very small deviations.

A natural interpretation on the data of $Λ_c\toΣπ$

Even though the Standard Model (SM) has achieved great success, its application to the field of low energies still lacks solid foundation due to our limited knowledge on non-perturbative QCD. Practically, all theoretical calculations of the hadronic transition matrix elements are based various phenomenological models. There indeed exist some anomalies in the field which are waiting for interpretations. The goal of this work is trying to solve one of the anomalies: the discrepancy between the theoretical prediction on the sign of the up-down asymmetry parameter of $Λ_c\toΣπ$ and the experimental measurement. In the literatures several authors calculated the rate and determined the asymmetry parameter within various schemes, but there exist obvious loopholes in those adopted scenarios. To solve the discrepancy between theory and data, we suggest that not only the direct transition process contributes to the observed $Λ_c\toΣπ$, but also other portals such as $Λ_c\to Λρ$ also play a substantial role via an isospin-conserving re-scattering $Λρ\toΣπ$. Taking into account of the effects induced by the final state interaction, we re-evaluate the relevant quantities. Our numerical results indicate that the new theoretical prediction based on this scenario involving an interference between the direct transition of $Λ_c\toΣπ$ and the portal $Λ_c\toΛρ\toΣπ$ can make both the decay rate and sign of the asymmetry parameter to be consistent with data.

Study on possible molecular states composed of $Λ_c\bar D$ ($Λ_b B$) and $Σ_c\bar D$ ($Σ_b B$) within the Bethe-Salpeter framework

$P_c(4312)$ observed by the LHCb collaboration is confirmed as a pentaquark and its structure, production, and decay behaviors attract great attention from theorists and experimentalists. Since its mass is very close to sum of $Σ_c$ and $\bar D$ masses, it is naturally tempted to be considered as a molecular state composed of $Σ_c$ and $\bar D$. Moreover, $P_c(4312)$ is observed in the channel with $J/ψp$ final state, requiring that isospin conservation $P_c(4312)$ is an isospin-1/2 eigenstate. In literature, several groups used various models to estimate its spectrum. We systematically study the pentaquarks within the framework of the Bethe-Salpeter equation; thus $P_c(4312)$ is an excellent target because of the available data. We calculate the spectrum of $P_c(4312)$ in terms of the Bethe-Salpter equations and further study its decay modes. Some predictions on other possible pentaquark states that can be tested in future experiments are made.

Study on the possible molecular state composed of $D^*_s\bar D_{s1} $ within the Bethe-Salpeter framework

Recently a vector charmonium-like state $Y(4626)$ was observed in the portal of $D^+_sD_{s1}(2536)^-$. It intrigues an active discussion on the structure of the resonance because it has obvious significance for gaining a better understanding on its hadronic structure with suitable inner constituents. It indeed concerns the general theoretical framework about possible structures of exotic states. Since the mass of $Y(4626)$ is slightly above the production threshold of $D^+_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)^-$ whereas below that of $D^*_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$ with the same quark contents as that of $D^+_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)^-$, it is natural to conjecture $Y(4626)$ to be a molecular state of $D^{*}_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$, as suggested in literature. Confirming or negating this allegation would shed light on the goal we concern. We calculate the mass spectrum of a system composed of a vector meson and an axial vector i.e. $D^*_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$ within the framework of the Bethe-Salpeter equations. Our numerical results show that the dimensionless parameter $λ$ in the form factor which is phenomenologically introduced to every vertex, is far beyond the reasonable range for inducing an even very small binding energy $ΔE$. It implies that the $D^*_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$ system cannot exist in the nature as a hadronic molecule in this model, so that we may not think the resonance $Y(4626)$ to be a bound state of $D^*_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$, but something else, for example a tetraquark and etc.

$Σ_{b}\toΣ_c^*$ weak decays in the light-front quark model with two schemes to deal with the polarization of diquark

Thanks to the remarkable achievements of LHC, a large database on baryons has been accumulated, so it is believed that the time for precisely studying baryons especially heavy baryons, has come. By analyzing the data, the quark-diquark structure which has been under intensive discussions, can be tested. In this work the decay widths of weak transitions $Σ_b\to Σ^*_c+X$ are calculated in terms of the light front quark model (LFQM). To carry out the calculations, the quark-diquark picture is employed where an axial-vector diquark composed of two light quarks serves as a spectator in the concerned processes. The first step of this work is to construct the vertex functions for $Σ^{(*)}_c$ and $Σ_b$, then the relevant form factors are derived. It is shown that under the heavy quark limit the Isgur-Wise functions for the transition are re-deduced. Indeed, how to properly depict the polarization ($ε_μ$) of the diquark is slightly tricky. In this work, we apply two schemes to explicitly determine the momentum-dependence of the diquark. The corresponding numerical results are presented which will be testified by the future experiments.

Revisiting $Λ_{b}\toΛ_{c}$ and $Σ_{b}\toΣ_{c}$ weak decays in the light-front quark model

In this work, we study $Λ_{b}\toΛ_{c}$ and $Σ_{b}\toΣ_{c}$ weak decays in the light-front quark model. As is well known, the key point for such calculations is properly evaluating the hadronic transition matrix elements which are dominated by the non-perturbative QCD effect. In our calculation, we employ the light-front quark model and rather than the traditional diquark picture, we account the two spectator light quarks as individual ones. Namely during the transition, they retain their color indices, momenta and spin polarizations unchanged. Definitely, the subsystem composed of the two light quarks is still in a color-anti-triplet and possesses a definite spin, but we do not priori assume the two light quarks to be in a bound system-diquark. Our purpose is probing the diquark picture, via comparing the results with the available data, we test the validity and applicability of the diquark structure which turns a three-body problem into a two-body one, so greatly simplifies the calculation. It is indicated that the two approaches (diquark and a subsystem within which the two light quarks are free) lead to similar numerical results even though the model parameters in the two schemes might deviate slightly. Thus, the diquark approach seems sufficiently reasonable.

Study on $Ξ_{cc}\toΞ_c$ and $Ξ_{cc}\toΞ'_c$ weak decays in the light-front quark model

In this work we study the weak decays of $Ξ_{cc}\toΞ_c$ and $Ξ_{cc}\toΞ'_c$ in the light-front quark model. Generally, a naive, but reasonable conjecture suggests that the $cc$ subsystem in $Ξ_{cc}$ ( $us$ pair in $Ξ^{(')}_c$) stands as a diquark with definite spin and color assignments. During the concerned processes, the diquark of the initial state is not a spectator, and must be broken. A Racah transformation would decompose the original $(cc)q$ into a combination of $c(cq)$ components. Thus we may deal with the decaying $c$ quark alone while keeping the $(cq)$ subsystem as a spectator. With the re-arrangement of the inner structure we calculate the form factors numerically and then obtain the rates of semi-leptonic decays and non-leptonic decays, which will be measured in the future.

Estimating decay rate of $X^{\pm}(5568)\to B_sπ^{\pm}$ while assuming them to be molecular states

Discovery of $X(5568)$ brings up a tremendous interest because it is very special, i.e. made of four different flavors. The D0 collaboration claimed that they observed this resonance through portal $X(5568)\to B_sπ$, but unfortunately, later the LHCb, CMS, CDF and ATLAS collaborations' reports indicate that no such state was found. Almost on the Eve of 2017, the D0 collaboration reconfirmed existence of $X(5568)$ via the semileptonic decay of $B_s$. To further reveal the discrepancy, supposing $X(5568)$ as a molecular state, we calculate the decay rate of $X(5568)\rightarrow B_sπ^+$ in an extended light front model. Numerically, the theoretically predicted decay width of $Γ(X(5568)\rightarrow B_sπ^+)$ is $20.28$ MeV which is consistent with the result of the D0 collaboration ($Γ=18.6^{+7.9}_{-6.1}(stat)^{+3.5}_{-3.8}(syst)$ MeV). Since the resonance is narrow, signals might be drowned in a messy background. In analog, two open-charm molecular states $DK$ and $BD$ named as $X_a$ and $X_b$, could be in the same situation. The rates of $X_a\to D_sπ^0$ and $X_b\to B_cπ^0$ are estimated as about 30 MeV and 20 MeV respectively. We suggest the experimental collaborations round the world to search for these two modes and accurate measurements may provide us with valuable information.

How can $X^{\pm}(5568)$ escape detection?

Multi-quark states were predicted by Gell-Mann when the quark model was first formulated. Recently, numerous exotic states that are considered to be multi-quark states have been experimentally confirmed (four-quark mesons and five-quark baryons). Theoretical research indicates that the four-quark state might comprise molecular and/or tetraquark structures. We consider that the meson containing four different flavors $su\bar b\bar d$ should exist and decay via the $X(5568)\to B_sπ$ channel. However, except for the D0 collaboration, all other experimental collaborations have reported negative observations for $X(5568)$ in this golden portal. This contradiction has stimulated the interest of both theorists and experimentalists. To address this discrepancy, we propose that the assumed $X(5568)$ is a mixture of a molecular state and tetraquark, which contributes destructively to $X(5568)\to B_sπ$. The cancellation may be accidental and it should be incomplete. In this scenario, there should be two physical states with the same flavor ingredients, with spectra of $5344\pm307$ and $6318\pm315$. $X(5568)$ lies in the error range of the first state. We predict the width of the second state (designated as $S_2$) as $Γ(X_{S_2}\to B_sπ)=224\pm97$ MeV. We strongly suggest searching for it in future experiments.

Exploring open-charm decay mode $Λ_c\barΛ_c$ of charmonium-like state $Y(4630)$

The newly observed $X, Y, Z$ exotic states are definitely not in the standard $Q\bar Q'$ structures, thus their existence composes a challenge to our understanding on the fundamental principles of hadron physics. Therefore the studies on their decay patterns which are determined by the non-perturbative QCD will definitely shed light on the concerned physics. Generally the four-quark states might be in a molecular state or tetraquark or their mixture. In this work, we adopt the suggestion that $Y(4630)$ is a charmonium-like tetraquark made of a diquark and an anti-diquark. If it is true, its favorable decay mode should be $Y(4630)$ decaying into an open-charm baryon pair, since such a transition occurs via strong interaction and is super-OZI-allowed. In this work, we calculate the decay width of $Y(4630)\toΛ_c\barΛ_c$ in the framework of the quark pair creation (QPC) model. Our numerical results on the partial width computed in the tetraquark configuration coincide with the Belle data within a certain error tolerance.

Study of structures and dynamical decay mechanisms for multiquark systems

The inner structures of the multiquark states are an interesting subject in hadron physics, generally they may be in tetraquark states which are composed of colored constituents, or in molecular states which are composed of two color singlets, or their mixtures. Therefore, the mechanisms which bind the constituents in a unique system and induce the multiquark states to decay would be different in those cases. In this work, using the quantum mechanics we analyze the dynamical mechanisms inducing decays of the tetraquarks where $Y(4630)$ stands as an example for the study, we also comment on the molecular states without making numerical computations.

Study on the rare decays of $Y(4630)$ induced by final state interactions

A resonance $Y(4630)$ at the invariant mass spectrum of $Λ_c \barΛ_c$ observed by the Belle Collaboration triggers a hot discussion about its inner structure. Since it preferably decays into two charmed baryons $Λ_c\barΛ_c$, it is tempted to conjecture it as a tetraquark. Because the dominant decay portal $Y(4630)\to Λ_c \barΛ_c$ is close to the energy threshold, the final state interactions may be significant and result in other baryonic and/or mesonic final states whose branching fractions are sizable to be measured in the future experiments. In this work we calculate the branching ratios of the $Y(4630)$ decays into $p\bar p$, $D^{(*)+} D^{(*)-}$, $π^+π^-$, and $K^+K^-$ which are induced by the $Λ_c \barΛ_c$ re-scattering. The resultant decay patterns will be tested by the future experiments and the consistency degree with the data composes a valuable probe for the tetraquark conjecture.

The LHC 750 GeV diphoton excess in supersymmetry with gauged baryon and lepton numbers

The significance of discovering the boson of 750 GeV is beyond finding a single heavy boson, because it may hint the location of the scale for new physics beyond the standard model which is the target of long-time exploration. There have been many models to explain the diphoton excess observed by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations and the BLMSSM is one of them. The BLMSSM is an extension of the minimal supersymmetric model where baryon and lepton numbers are local gauge symmetries. We analyze the decay channels $Φ\rightarrow gg$, $Φ\rightarrowγγ$, $Φ\rightarrow Zγ$, and $Φ\rightarrow \bar{t}t,\;VV\;(V=Z,\;W)$ with the mass of the CP-odd scalar $Φ=A_{_B}^0$ being around $750\;{\rm GeV}$ in this model. Within a certain parameter space, the scenario can account for the experimental data on the diphoton excess.

Three-generation neutrino oscillations in curved spacetime

Three-generation MSW effect in curved spacetime is studied and a brief discussion on the gravitational correction to the neutrino self-energy is given. The modified mixing parameters and corresponding conversion probabilities of neutrinos after traveling through celestial objects of constant densities are obtained. The method to distinguish between the normal hierarchy and inverted hierarchy is discussed in this framework. Due to the gravitational redshift of energy, in some extreme situations, the resonance energy of neutrinos might be shifted noticeably and the gravitational effect on the self-energy of neutrino becomes significant at the vicinities of spacetime singularities.

Type-III two Higgs doublet model plus a pseudoscalar confronted with $h\rightarrowμτ$, muon $g-2$ and dark matter

In this work, we introduce an extra singlet pseudoscalar into the Type-III two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) which is supposed to solve a series of problems in the modern particle-cosmology. With existence of a light pseudoscalar, the $h\rightarrowμτ$ excess measured at CMS and as well as the $(g-2)_μ$ anomaly could be simultaneously explained within certain parameter spaces that can also tolerate the data on the flavor-violating processes $τ\rightarrowμγ$ and Higgs decay gained at LHC. Within the same parameter spaces, the DM relic abundance is well accounted. Moreover, the recently observed Galactic Center gamma ray excess(GCE) is proposed to realize through dark matter(DM) pair annihilations, and in this work, the scenario of the annihilation being mediated by the pseudoscalar is also addressed.

Unified Fano-like interference picture for charmonium-like states $Y(4008)$, $Y(4260)$ and $Y(4360)$

We propose that the unified Fano-like interference picture applies to $e^+e^-\to π^+π^- J/ψ$ and $e^+e^-\to π^+π^- ψ(3686)$, where $Y(4260)$ and $Y(4360)$ are observed, respectively, to provide a reasonable interpretation of the asymmetric lines hapes of $Y(4260)$ and $Y(4360)$ structures. Moreover, the Fano-like interference induces an extra broad structure $Y(4008)$ in $e^+e^-\to π^+π^- J/ψ$ as a companion peak to $Y(4260)$. Three charmonium-like states $Y(4008)$, $Y(4260)$ and $Y(4360)$ observed in $e^+e^-$ annihilation processes are not genuine resonances. Under this scenario, it is well explained why $Y(4008)$, $Y(4260)$ and $Y(4360)$ are absent in the experimental data of the $R$ value scan and missing in open-charm decay channels. Although the present work presents a typical application of the Fano-like interference in particle physics at the lower energy region, we have reason to believe that the Fano-like phenomena may exist in other processes such as $e^+e^-\to π^+π^-ψ(3770)$ and $e^+e^-\to K^+K^- J/ψ$, which will be accessible at BESIII and forthcoming BelleII.

An underlying symmetry determines all elements of CKM and PMNS up to a universal constant?

Observing the CKM matrix elements written in different parametrization schemes, one can notice obvious relations among the sine-values of the CP phases in those schemes. Using the relations, we establish a few parametrization-independent equations, by which the matrix elements of the CKM matrix can be completely fixed up to a universal parameter. If it is true, we expect that there should exist a hidden symmetry in the nature which determines the relations. Moreover, it requires a universal parameter, naturally it would be the famous Jarlskog invariant which is also parametrization independent. Thus the four parameters (three mixing angles and one CP phase) of the CKM matrix are not free, but determined by the symmetry and the universal parameter. As we generalize the rules to the PMNS matrix for neutrino mixing, the CP phase of the lepton sector is predicted to be within a range of $0\sim 59^\circ$ centered at $39^\circ$ (in the P$_a$ parametrization) which will be tested in the future experiments.

Identifying exotic hidden-charm pentaquarks

The LHCb Collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN discovered two pentaquark states $P_c(4380)$ and $P_c(4450)$. These two hidden-charm states are interpreted as the loosely bound $Σ_c(2455)D^*$ and $Σ_c^*(2520)D^*$ molecular states in the boson exchange interaction model, which provides an explanation for why the experimental width of $P_c(4450)$ is much narrower than that of $P_c(4380)$. The discovery of the new resonances $P_c(4380)$ and $P_c(4450)$, indeed, opens a new page for hadron physics. The partners of $P_c(4380)$ and $P_c(4450)$ should be pursued in future experiments.

Implications of equalities among the elements of CKM and PMNS matrices

Investigating the CKM matrix in different parametrization schemes, it is noticed that those schemes can be divided into a few groups where the sine values of the CP phase for each group are approximately equal. Using those relations, several approximate equalities among the elements of CKM matrix are established. Assuming them to be exact, there are infinite numbers of solutions and by choosing special values for the free parameters in those solutions, several textures presented in literature are obtained. The case can also be generalized to the PMNS matrix for the lepton sector. In parallel, several mixing textures are also derived by using presumed symmetries, amazingly, some of their forms are the same as what we obtained, but not all. It hints existence of a hidden symmetry which is broken in the practical world. The nature makes its own selection on the underlying symmetry and the way to break it, while we just guess what it is.

Study of the rare decay $J/ψ\rightarrow e^+e^- ϕ$

We study the decay process of $J/ψ\rightarrow e^+e^- ϕ$ where the relatively clean electromagnetic (EM) transitions appear at leading order at tree level while the hadronic contributions only emerge via hadronic loop transitions. We include the low-lying scalar $f_0(980)$ and pseudoscalar $η/η'$ as the dominant contributions in the evaluation of the hadronic loop contributions. It is found that the hadronic effects are negligible comparing with the EM contributions. The decay width of $J/ψ\rightarrow e^+e^- ϕ$ is determined to be about $2.12\times 10^{-6}$ keV if there is no any other leading mechanism contributing, and this result will be tested by the BESIII experiment with a large data sample of $J/ψ$.

Study on direct pion emission in decay $D^{*+} \to D^+ π$

The QCD multipole expansion (QCDME) is based on the quantum field theory, so should be more reliable. However, on another aspect, it refers to the non-perturbative QCD , so that has a certain application range. Even though it successfully explains the data of transition among members of the $Υ$ ($ψ$) family, as Eichten indicates, beyond the production threshold of mediate states it fails to meet data by several orders. In this work, by studying a simple decay mode $D^*\to D+π^0$, where a pion may be emitted before $D^*$ transiting into $D$, we analyze the contribution of QCD multipole expansion. Whereas as the $Dπ$ portal is open, the dominant contribution is an OZI allowed process where a light quark-pair is excited out from vacuum and its contribution can be evaluated by the $^3P_0$ model. Since the direct pion emission is a process which is OZI suppressed and violates the isospin conservation, its contribution must be much smaller than the dominant one. By a careful calculation, we may quantitatively estimate how small the QCDME contribution should be and offer a quantitative interpretation for Eichten's statement.

Study on the structure of the four-quark states in terms of the Born-Oppenheimer approximation

In this work, we use the Born-Oppenheimer approximation where the potential between atoms can be approximated as a function of distance between the two nuclei to study the four-quark bound states. By the approximation, Heitler and London calculated the spectrum of hydrogen molecule which includes two protons (heavy) and two electrons (light). Generally, the observed exotic mesons $Z_b(10610)$, $Z_b(10650)$, $Z_c(3900)$ and $Z_c(4020)$($Z_c(4025)$) may be molecular states made of two physical mesons and/or in diquark-anti-diquark structures. In analog to the Heitler-London method for calculating the mass of hydrogen molecule, we investigate whether there exist energy minima for these two structures. By contrary to the hydrogen molecule case where only the spin-triplet possesses an energy minimum, there exist minima for both of them. It implies that both molecule and tetraquark states can be stable objects. But since they have the same quantum numbers, the two states may mix to result in the physical states. A consequence would be that partner exotic states co-existing with $Z_b(10610)$, $Z_b(10650)$, $Z_c(3900)$ and $Z_c(4020)$($Z_c(4025)$) are predicted and should be experimentally observed.

The hidden symmetries in the PMNS matrix and the light sterile neutrino(s)

The approximately symmetric form of the PMNS matrix suggests that there could exist a hidden symmetry which makes the PMNS matrix different from the CKM matrix for quarks. In literature, all the proposed fully symmetric textures exhibit an explicit $μ-τ$ symmetry in addition to other symmetries which may be different for various textures. Observing obvious deviations of the practical PMNS matrix elements from those in the symmetric textures, there must be a mechanism to distort the symmetry. It might be due to existence of light sterile neutrinos. In this work, we study the case of the Tribimaximal texture and propose that its apparent symmetry disappears due to existence of a sterile neutrino. We observe that introducing just one sterile neutrino is still not sufficient to recover the data, thus a slight $μ-τ$ symmetry breaking is also needed. By considering those factors, we obtain the PMNS matrix elements which are consistent with data within the experimental tolerance.

Constraining parameter space of the Little Higgs model by data of tera-Z factory and ILC

The Standard Model prediction on the forward-backward asymmetry for $b\bar b$ production ($A^b_{FB}$) is well consistent with the data of LEP I at the Z-pole, but deviates from the data at $\sqrt s=89\; 93$ GeV which are slightly away from the pole. This deviation implies that there still is room for new physics. We calculate the $A^b_{FB}$ at vicinity of Z-pole in the Little Higgs Model as well as other measurable parameters such as $R_b$ and $R_c$, by which we may constrain the parameter space of the Little Higgs Model. This can be tested in the newly proposed tera-Z factory. With the fitted parameters we further make predictions on $A^b_{FB}$ and $A^t_{FB}$ for $t\bar t$ production at the ILC energy.

Determination of the mixing between active neutrinos and sterile neutrino through the quark-lepton complementarity and self-complementarity

It is suggested that there is an underlying symmetry which relates the quark and lepton sectors. Namely, among the mixing matrix elements of CKM for quarks and PMNS for leptons there exist complementarity relations at a high energy scale (such as the see-saw or even the GUT scales). Assuming that the relations would remain during the matrix elements running down to the EW scale. Observable breaking of the rational relation is attributed to existence of sterile neutrinos which mix with the active neutrino to result in the observable PMNS matrix. We show that involvement of a sterile in the (3+1) model, induces that $|U_{e4}|^2= 0.040$, $|U_{\mu4}|^2= 0.009$ and $\sin^2 2α=0.067$. We also find a new self-complementarity $\vartheta_{12}+\vartheta_{23}+\vartheta_{13}+α\approx90^\circ$. The numbers are generally consistent with those obtained by fitting recent measurements, especially in this scenario, the existence of a sterile neutrino does not upset the LEP data i.e. the number of neutrino types is very close to 3.

Light Top Squark in Precision Top Quark Sample

The uncertainty of $t\bar{t}$ production cross section measurement at LHC is at a-few-percent level which still allows the stop pair production $\tilde{t}\tilde{t}^{*}$ with identical final states $2b+\ell+nj+{E}_{T}$. In this paper, we attempt to use the existing measurement of $W$-polarization in top quark decay to improve the distinction between stop and top quark states. We apply the ATLAS $χ^2$ method of $W$-polarization measurement in semi-leptonic $t\bar{t}$ final state to semi-leptonic stop pair samples and study its prediction. We find that the faked top events from stop mostly contribute to the left-handed polarized $W$ due to the reconstruction. The benchmark point with maximal contribution to top events only changes $F_{L}$ by 1%. After comparing with the current experiments, we conclude that the current measurement of $W$-polarization in $t$ decay cannot exclude the light stop scenario.

Search for supersymmetric baryons near production threshold in terms of the superflavor symmetry

The supersymmetry (SUSY) may be one of the most favorable extensions of the standard model (SM), however, so far at LHC no evidence of the SUSY particles were observed. An obvious question is whether they have already emerged, but escaped from our detection, or do not exist at all. We propose that the future ILC may provide sufficient energy to produce SUSY particles if they are not too heavy in the low background environment. The superflavor symmetry associates baryons with mesons as long as both of them containing a heavy constituent and a light one. In this work, we estimate the production rate of SUSY baryons near their production threshold in terms of the $B\bar B$ production data. Our analysis indicates that if the SUSY baryons with masses below $\sqrt s/2$ ($\sqrt s$ is the ILC energy) exist, they could be observed at future ILC.

Searching for New Physics in $D^0\rightarrow μ^+μ^-,\; e^+e^-, \;μ^{\pm}e^{\mp}$ at BES and/or Super Charm-Tau Factory

In contrast with $B^0-\bar B^0$, $B_s-\bar B_s$ mixing where the standard model (SM) contributions overwhelm that of new physics beyond standard model (BSM), a measured relatively large $D^0-\bar D^0$ mixing where the SM contribution is negligible, definitely implies the existence of new physics BSM. It is natural to consider that the rare decays of D meson might be more sensitive to new physics, and the rare decay $D^0\to μ^+μ^-$ could be an ideal area to search for new physics because it is a flavor changing process. In this work we look for a trace of new physics BSM in the leptonic decays of $D^0$, concretely we discuss the contributions of unparticle or an extra gauge boson $Z'$ while imposing the constraints set by fitting the $D^0-\bar D^0$ mixing data. We find that the long-distance SM effects for $D^0\to l\bar l$ still exceed those contributions of the BSM under consideration, but for a double-flavor changing process such as $D^0\to μ^{\pm}e^{\mp}$, the new physics contribution would be significant.

Study of a WIMP dark matter model with the updated results of CDMS II

The new observation of CDMS II favors low mass WIMPs. Taking the CDMS II new results as inputs, we consider a SM singlet: the darkon as the dark matter candidate, which can be either scalar, fermion or vector. It is found that the simplest scenario of DM+SM conflicts with the stringent constraint set by the LHC data. New physics beyond the SM is needed, and in this work, we discuss an extended standard model $SU_L(2)\otimes U_Y(1)\otimes U(1)'$ where $U(1)'$ only couples to the darkon. The new gauge symmetry is broken into $U_{em}(1)$ and two neutral bosons $Z^0$ and $Z'$ which are mixtures of $W^3_μ,\; B_μ\; X_μ$ are resulted in. Following the literature and based on the CDMS data, we make a complete analysis to testify the validity of the model. The cross section of the elastic scattering between darkon and nucleon is calculated, and the DM relic density is evaluated in the extended scenario as well. It is found that considering the constraints from both cosmology and collider experiments, only if $Z'$ is lighter than $Z^0$, one can reconcile all the presently available data.

Study of the material photon and electron background and the liquid argon detector veto efficiency of the CDEX-10 experiment

The China Dark Matter Experiment (CDEX) is located at the China Jinping underground laboratory (CJPL) and aims to directly detect the WIMP flux with high sensitivity in the low mass region. Here we present a study of the predicted photon and electron backgrounds including the background contribution of the structure materials of the germanium detector, the passive shielding materials, and the intrinsic radioactivity of the liquid argon that serves as an anti-Compton active shielding detector. A detailed geometry is modeled and the background contribution has been simulated based on the measured radioactivities of all possible components within the GEANT4 program. Then the photon and electron background level in the energy region of interest (<10^-2 events kg-1 day-1 keV-1 (cpkkd)) is predicted based on Monte Carlo simulations. The simulated result is consistent with the design goal of CDEX-10 experiment, 0.1 cpkkd, which shows that the active and passive shield design of CDEX-10 is effective and feasible.

Study on radiative decays of $D^*_{sJ}(2860)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2710)$ into $D_s$ by means of LFQM

The observed resonance peak around 2.86 GeV has been carefully reexamined by the LHCb collaboration and it is found that under the peak there reside two states $D^*_{s1}(2860)$ and $D^*_{s3}(2860)$ which are considered as $1^3D_1(c\bar s)$ and $1^3D_3(c\bar s)$ with slightly different masses and total widths. Thus, the earlier assumption that the resonance $D^*_{s1}(2710)$ was a $1D$ state should not be right. We suggest to measure the partial widths of radiative decays of $D^*_{sJ}(2860)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2710)$ to confirm their quantum numbers. We would consider $D^*_{s1}(2710)$ as $2^3S_1$ or a pure $1^3D_1$ state, or their mixture and respectively calculate the corresponding branching ratios as well as those of $D^*_{sJ}(2860)$. The future precise measurement would provide us information to help identifying the structures of those resonances .

Introduction of the CDEX experiment

Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) are the candidates of dark matter in our universe. Up to now any direct interaction of WIMP with nuclei has not been observed yet. The exclusion limits of the spin-independent cross section of WIMP-nucleon which have been experimentally obtained is about 10^{-7}pb at high mass region and only 10^{-5}pb} at low mass region. China Jin-Ping underground laboratory CJPL is the deepest underground lab in the world and provides a very promising environment for direct observation of dark matter. The China Dark Matter Experiment (CDEX) experiment is going to directly detect the WIMP flux with high sensitivity in the low mass region. Both CJPL and CDEX have achieved a remarkable progress in recent two years. The CDEX employs a point-contact germanium semi-conductor detector PCGe whose detection threshold is less than 300 eV. We report the measurement results of Muon flux, monitoring of radioactivity and Radon concentration carried out in CJPL, as well describe the structure and performance of the 1 kg PCGe detector CDEX-1 and 10kg detector array CDEX-10 including the detectors, electronics, shielding and cooling systems. Finally we discuss the physics goals of the CDEX-1, CDEX-10 and the future CDEX-1T detectors.

Is $Z_c(3900)$ a molecular state

Assuming the newly observed $Z_c(3900)$ to be a molecular state of $D\bar D^*(D^{*} \bar D)$, we calculate the partial widths of $Z_c(3900)\to J/ψ+π;\; ψ'+π;\; η_c+ρ$ and $D\bar D^*$ within the light front model (LFM). $Z_c(3900)\to J/ψ+π$ is the channel by which $Z_c(3900)$ was observed, our calculation indicates that it is indeed one of the dominant modes whose width can be in the range of a few MeV depending on the model parameters. Similar to $Z_b$ and $Z_b'$, Voloshin suggested that there should be a resonance $Z_c'$ at 4030 MeV which can be a molecular state of $D^*\bar D^*$. Then we go on calculating its decay rates to all the aforementioned final states and as well the $D^*\bar D^*$. It is found that if $Z_c(3900)$ is a molecular state of ${1\over\sqrt 2}(D\bar D^*+D^*\bar D)$, the partial width of $Z_c(3900)\to D\bar D^*$ is rather small, but the rate of $Z_c(3900)\toψ(2s)π$ is even larger than $Z_c(3900)\to J/ψπ$. The implications are discussed and it is indicated that with the luminosity of BES and BELLE, the experiments may finally determine if $Z_c(3900)$ is a molecular state or a tetraquark.

Neutron electric dipole moment in CP violating BLMSSM

Considering the CP violating phases, we analyze the neutron electric dipole moment (EDM) in a CP violating supersymmetric extension of the standard model where baryon and lepton numbers are local gauge symmetries(BLMSSM). The contributions from the one loop diagrams and the Weinberg operators are taken into account. Adopting some assumptions on the relevant parameter space, we give the numerical results analysis. The numerical results for neutron EDM can reach $1.05\times 10^{-25}(e.cm)$, which is about the experimental upper limit.

Study on perturbation schemes for achieving the real PMNS matrix from various symmetric textures

The PMNS matrix displays an obvious symmetry, but not exact. There are several textures proposed in literature, which possess various symmetry patterns and seem to originate from different physics scenarios at high energy scales. To be consistent with the experimental measurement, all of the regularities slightly decline, i.e. the symmetry must be broken. Following the schemes given in literature, we modify the matrices (9 in total) to gain the real PMNS matrix by perturbative rotations. The transformations may provide hints about the underlying physics at high energies and the breaking mechanisms which apply during the evolution to the low energy scale, especially the results may be useful for the future model builders.

Testing lepton flavor universality in terms of data of BES III and charm-tau factory

The recent measurements on $R_K$ and $R_π$ imply that there exists a possible violation of the leptonic flavor universality which is one of the cornerstones of the standard model. It is suggested that a mixing between sterile and active neutrinos might induce such a violation. In this work we consider the scenarios with one or two sterile neutrinos to explicitly realize the data while the constraints from the available experiments have been taken into account. Moreover, as indicated in literature, the deviation of the real PMNS matrix from the symmetric patterns may be due to a $μ-τ$ asymmetry, therefore the measurements on $R_{D(D_s)eμ} = Γ(D(D_s)\rightarrow e^+ν_e)/Γ(D(D_s)\rightarrow μ^+ν_μ)$ and $R_{D(D_s)μτ} = Γ(D(D_s)\rightarrow μ^+ν_μ)/Γ(D(D_s)\rightarrow μ^+τ_τ)$ (and for some other heavy mesons $B^{\pm}$ and $B_c$ etc.) may shed more light on physics responsible for the violation of the leptonic flavor universality. The data of BES III are available to test the universality and that of the future charm-tau factory will provide more accurate information towards the aspect, in this work, we will discuss $R_{D(D_s)eμ}$ and $R_{D(D_s)μτ}$ in all details and also briefly consider the cases for $B^{\pm}$ and $B_c$.

The CDEX-1 1 kg Point-Contact Germanium Detector for Low Mass Dark Matter Searches

The CDEX Collaboration has been established for direct detection of light dark matter particles, using ultra-low energy threshold p-type point-contact germanium detectors, in China JinPing underground Laboratory (CJPL). The first 1 kg point-contact germanium detector with a sub-keV energy threshold has been tested in a passive shielding system located in CJPL. The outputs from both the point-contact p+ electrode and the outside n+ electrode make it possible to scan the lower energy range of less than 1 keV and at the same time to detect the higher energy range up to 3 MeV. The outputs from both p+ and n+ electrode may also provide a more powerful method for signal discrimination for dark matter experiment. Some key parameters, including energy resolution, dead time, decay times of internal X-rays, and system stability, have been tested and measured. The results show that the 1 kg point-contact germanium detector, together with its shielding system and electronics, can run smoothly with good performances. This detector system will be deployed for dark matter search experiments.

The decay rate of $ψ(2S)$ to $Λ_c+\bar{Σ^+}$ in SM and beyond

With rapid growth of the database of the BES III and the proposed super flavor factory, measurement on the rare $ψ(2S)$ decays may be feasible, especially the weak decays into baryon final states. In this work we study the decay rate of $ψ(2S)$ to $Λ_c+\overline{Σ^+}$ in the SM and physics beyond the SM (here we use the unparticle model as an example). The QPC model is employed to describe the creation of a pair of $q\bar q$ from vacuum. We find that the rate of $ψ(2S)\rightarrow Λ_c+\overline{Σ^+}$ is at order of $10^{-10}$ in the SM, whereas the contribution of the unparticle is too small to be substantial. Therefore if a large branching ratio is observed, it must be due to new physics beyond SM, but by no means the unparticle.

The FSI contribution to the observed $B_s$ decays into $K^+K^-$ and $π^+K^-$

Because at the tree level $B_s\rightarrow K^+K^-$ is Cabibbo-triple suppressed, so its branching ratio should be smaller than that of $B_s\to π^+ K^-$. The measurements present a reversed ratio as $R=\mathcal B(B_s\rightarrow π^+K^-)/\mathcal B(B_s\rightarrow K^+ K^-)\sim{4.9/33}$. Therefore, It has been suggested that the transition $B_s\to K^+K^-$ is dominated by the penguin mechanism, which is proportional to $V_{cb}V^*_{cs}$. In this work, we show that an extra contribution from the final state interaction (FSI) to $B_s\to K^+K^-$ via sequential processes $B_s\to D^{(*)}_{(s)} \bar D_s^{(*)}\to K^+K^-$ is also substantial and should be superposed on the penguin contribution. Indeed, taking into account of the FSI effects, the theoretical prediction on $R$ is well consistent with the data.

The radiative decays of $0^{++}$ and $1^{+-}$ heavy mesons

The radiative decay is believed to be an ideal lab to study hadronic structure of newly observed resonances because the reactions are governed by only the electromagnetic interaction (tree level). However, to obtain correct theoretical values, one has to properly deal with the non-perturbative QCD effects in the wavefunction and hadronization. In this work we derive the formulas for the radiative decays of $0^{++}$ and $1^{-+}$ heavy mesons in the light front quark model (LFQM). Because $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c0}\rightarrow J/ψγ)$ is well measured, the theoretical evaluation of the transition rate can be used to test our approach. Within this theoretical framework, the width of $χ_{b0}\rightarrow Υ(1S)γ$ is evaluated. The formulas can be applied to identify the inner structures of new resonances, for example the isospin of $h_{c(b)}$ and the structure of $D_s(2317)$, via processes $h_c\rightarrow η_cγ$, $h_b\rightarrow η_bγ$ and $D_s(2317)\rightarrow D_s^*+γ$.

Top Quark Forward-Backward Asymmetry in the Little Higgs Model

We calculate the forward backward asymmetry of the top-pair production at TEVATRON up to next to leading order (NLO) in the little Higgs model (LHM). We find that the contribution of $Z_H$ can be large enough to make up the gap between standard model (SM) prediction and data. With the database of $7.65\pm0.20\pm0.36$ pb, therefore, the parameter space for flavor-changing coupling of $Z_H$ is constrained. Thus this model can result in the required asymmetry while the total cross section of top-pair production remaining consistent with data.

Transitions of $B_c\rightarrow ψ(1S,2S)$ and the modified harmonic oscillator wave function in LFQM

The LHC$_b$ collaboration has systematically measured the rates of $B_c\to J/ψK$, $B_c\to J/ψD_s$, $B_c\to J/ψD_s^*$ and $B_c\to ψ(2S) π$. The new data enable us to study relevant theoretical models and further determine the model parameters. In this work, We calculate the form factors for the transitions $B_c\to J/ψ$ and $B_c\to ψ(2S)$ numerically, then determine the partial widths of the semi-leptonic and non-leptonic decays. The theoretical predictions on the ratios of $Γ(B_c\to J/ψK)/Γ(B_c\to J/ψπ)$, $Γ(B_c\to J/ψD_s)/Γ(B_c\to J/ψπ)$ and $Γ(B_c\to J/ψD_s^*)/Γ(B_c\to J/ψπ)$ are consistent with data within only 1$σ$. Especially, for calculating $Γ(B_c\to ψ(2S)X)$ the modified harmonic oscillator wave function (HOWF) which we developed in early works is employed and the results indicate that the modified harmonic oscillator wave function works better than the traditional HOWF.

$Σ_{b}\toΣ_c$ and $Ω_b\toΩ_c$ weak decays in the light-front quark model

The successful operation of LHC provides a great opportunity to study the processes where heavy baryons are involved. {In this work we mainly study} the weak transitions of $Σ_b\to Σ_c$. Assuming the reasonable quark-diquark structure where the two light quarks constitute an axial vector, we calculate the widths of semi-leptonic decay $Σ_{b}\toΣ_c eν_e$ and non-leptonic decay modes $Σ_{b}\toΣ_c +M$ (light mesons) in terms of the light front quark model. We first construct the vertex function for the concerned baryons and then deduce the form factors which are related to two Isgur-Wise functions for the $Σ_{b}\toΣ_c$ transition under the heavy quark limit. Our numerical results indicate that $Γ(Σ_{b}\toΣ_c eν_e)$ is about $1.38\times10^{10}{\rm s}^{-1}$ and $Γ(Σ_{b}\toΣ_c +M)$ is slightly below $1\times10^{10}{\rm s}^{-1}$ which may be accessed at the LHCb detector. By the flavor SU(3) symmetry we estimate the rates of $Ω_b\toΩ_c$. We suggest to measure weak decays of $Ω_b\toΩ_c$, because $Ω_b$ does not decay via strong interaction, the advantage is obvious.

Discussions on Stability of Diquarks

Since the birth of the quark model, the diquark which is composed of two quarks has been considered as a substantial structure of color anti-triplet. This is not only a mathematical simplification for dealing with baryons, but also provides a physical picture where the diquark would behave as a whole object. It is natural to ask whether such a structure is sufficiently stable against external disturbance. The mass spectra of the ground states of the scalar and axial-vector diquarks which are composed of two-light (L-L), one-light-one-heavy (H-L) and two-heavy quarks (H-H) respectively have been calculated in terms of the QCD sum rules. We suggest a criterion as the quantitative standard for the stability of the diquark. It is the gap between the masses of the diquark and $\sqrt{s_0}$ where $s_0$ is the threshold of the excited states and continuity, namely the larger the gap is, the more stable the diquark would be. In this work, we calculate the masses of the type H-H to complete the series of the spectra of the ground state diquarks. However, as the criterion being taken, we find that all the gaps for the various diquaks are within a small range, especially the gap for the diquark with two heavy quarks which is believed to be a stable structure, is slightly smaller than that for other two types of diquarks, therefore we conclude that because of the large theoretical uncertainty, we cannot use the numerical results obtained with the QCD sum rules to assess the stability of diquarks, but need to invoke other theoretical framework.

Effects of nuclear deformation on the form factor for direct dark matter detection

For direct dark matter detections, to extract useful information about the fundamental interaction from data, it is crucial to properly determine the nuclear form factor. The form factor for spin-independent cross section of collisions between dark matter particle and nucleus is thoroughly studied by many authors. When the analysis was carried out, the nuclei are always supposed to be spherically symmetric. In this work, we investigate the effects of deformation of nuclei from a spherical shape to an elliptical shape on the form factor. Our results indicate that as long as the ellipticity is not too large, such effects cannot cause any substantial effects, especially as the nuclei are randomly orientated in a room temperature circumstance one can completely neglect them.

Is $Z_b(10610)$ a Molecular State?

Whether molecular states indeed exist in nature has been disputed for a long time. Several new resonances have been observed in the recent experiments and they seem to be of exotic structures and some of them have been proposed to be molecular states. The very recent observation of $Z_b(10610)[(10608.4\pm 2.0)$ MeV] and $Z_b(10650)[(10653.2\pm 1.5)$ MeV] encourages the interpretation of multi-quark states. In the Beter-Salpeter (BS) approach, we study the possibility if two heavy mesons can form a molecular state by exchanging light mesons. Our results indicate that two heavy mesons can form an isospin singlet (I=0) bound state but cannot form an isospin triplet (I=1) when the contribution of $σ-$ exchange is reasonably small, i.e. as the coupling of $σ$ with mesons $g_σ$ takes the value given in previous literatures. Thus we conclude that the newly observed $Z_b(10610)$ should not be a molecular state, but a tetraquark state instead, at most, the fraction of the molecular state in the physical resonance $Z_b(10610)$ is tiny.

Study of Doubly Heavy Baryon Spectrum via QCD Sum Rules

In this work, we calculate the mass spectrum of doubly heavy baryons with the diquark model in terms of the QCD sum rules. The interpolating currents are composed of a heavy diquark field and a light quark field. Contributions of the operators up to dimension six are taken into account in the operator product expansion. Within a reasonable error tolerance, our numerical results are compatible with other theoretical predictions. This indicates that the diquark picture reflects the reality and is applicable to the study of doubly heavy baryons.

Study on the effects of the light CP-odd Higgs via the leptonic decays of pseudoscalar mesons

To explain the anomalously large decay rate of $Σ^+\to p+μ^+μ^-$, it was proposed that a new mechanism where a light CP-odd pseudoscalar boson of $m_{A_1^0}=214.3$ MeV makes a crucial contribution. Later, some authors have studied the transition $π^0\to e^+e^-$ and $Υ\to γA_1^0$ in terms of the same mechanism and their result indicates that with the suggested mass one cannot fit the data. This discrepancy might be caused by experimental error of $Σ^+\to p+μ^+μ^-$ because there were only a few events. Whether the mechanism is a reasonable one motivates us to investigate the transitions $π^0\to e^+e^-; η(η^\prime)\to μ^+μ^-; η_c\to μ^+μ^-; η_b\toτ^+τ^-$ within the same framework. It is noted that for $π^0\to e^+e^-$, the standard model (SM) prediction is smaller than the data, whereas the experimental central value of $η\to μ^+μ^-$ is also above the SM prediction. It means that there should be extra contributions from other mechanisms and the contribution of $A_1^0$ may be a possible one. Theoretically calculating the branching ratios of the concerned modes, we would check if we can obtain a universal mass for $A_1^0$ which reconcile the theoretical predictions and data for all the modes. Unfortunately, we find that it is impossible to have such a mass with the same coupling $|g_\ell|$. Therefore we conclude that the phenomenology does not favor such a light $A_1^0$, even though a small window is still open.

Anomalous dipion invariant mass distribution of the $Υ(4S)$ decays into $Υ(1S) π^{+} π^{-}$ and $Υ(2S) π^{+} π^{-}$

To solve the discrepancy between the experimental data on the partial widths and lineshapes of the dipion emission of $Υ(4S)$ and the theoretical predictions, we suggest that there is an additional contribution which was not taken into account in previous calculations. Noticing that the mass of $Υ(4S)$ is above the production threshold of $B\bar B$, the contribution of the sequential process $Υ(4S)\to B\bar B\to Υ(nS)+S\to Υ(nS)+π^+π^-$ ($n=1,2$) may be sizable, and its interference with that from the direct production would be important. The goal of this work is to investigate if a sum of the two contributions with a relative phase indeed reproduces the data. Our numerical results on the partial widths and the lineshapes $dΓ(Υ(4S)\to Υ(2S,1S)π^+π^-)/d(m_{π^+π^-})$ are satisfactorily consistent with the measurements, thus the role of this mechanism is confirmed. Moreover, with the parameters obtained by fitting the data of the Belle and Babar collaborations, we predict the distributions $dΓ(Υ(4S)\to Υ(2S,1S)π^+π^-)/d\cosθ$ which have not been measured yet.

Determining $1^{--}$ Heavy Hybrid Masses via QCD Sum Rules

The masses of $1^{--}$ charmonium and bottomonium hybrids are evaluated in terms of QCD sum rules. We find that the ground state hybrid in charm sector lies in $m_{H_c}=4.12\sim 4.79$ GeV, while in bottom sector the hybrid may situated in $m_{H_b} = 10.24\sim 11.15$ GeV. Since the numerical result on charmonium hybrid mass is not compatible with the charmonium spectra, including structures newly observed in experiment, we tempt to conclude that such a hybrid does not purely exist, but rather as an admixture with other states, like glueball and regular quarkonium, in experimental observation. However, our result on bottomonium hybrid coincide with the "exotic structure" recently observed at BELLE.

Comparison with the traditional form factors which are commonly used in literature is given and it is found that our results are slightly above that of the 2PF model by 4% to 8%, but deviate from the Helm form factor by 15% to 25% for the whole recoil energy spectrum of 0$\sim $ 100 keV. Moreover, taking Xe and Ge as examples, we show the dependence of the form factor on the recoil energy.

Dipion invariant mass distribution of the anomalous $Υ(1S) π^{+} π^{-}$ and $Υ(2S) π^{+} π^{-}$ production near the peak of $Υ(10860)$

Chen {\it et al}. (Belle Collaboration), Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 100}, 112001 (2008)], we suggest a new scenario where the contributions from the direct dipion transition and the final state interactions interfere to result in not only the anomalously large production rates, but also the lineshapes of the differential widths consistent with the experimental measurement when assuming the reactions are due to the dipion emission of $Υ(5S)$. At the end, we raise a new puzzle that the predicted differential width $dΓ(Υ(5S)\toΥ(2S)π^+π^-)/d\cosθ$ has a discrepant trend from the data while other predictions are well in accord with the data. It should be further clarified by more accurate measurements carried by future experiments.

Earthquake Forecast via Neutrino Tomography

We discuss the possibility of forecasting earthquakes by means of (anti)neutrino tomography. Antineutrinos emitted from reactors are used as a probe. As the antineutrinos traverse through a region prone to earthquakes, observable variations in the matter effect on the antineutrino oscillation would provide a tomography of the vicinity of the region. In this preliminary work, we adopt a simplified model for the geometrical profile and matter density in a fault zone. We calculate the survival probability of electron antineutrinos for cases without and with an anomalous accumulation of electrons which can be considered as a clear signal of the coming earthquake, at the geological region with a fault zone, and find that the variation may reach as much as 3% for $\bar ν_e$ emitted from a reactor. The case for a $ν_e$ beam from a neutrino factory is also investigated, and it is noted that, because of the typically high energy associated with such neutrinos, the oscillation length is too large and the resultant variation is not practically observable. Our conclusion is that with the present reactor facilities and detection techniques, it is still a difficult task to make an earthquake forecast using such a scheme, though it seems to be possible from a theoretical point of view while ignoring some uncertainties. However, with the development of the geology, especially the knowledge about the fault zone, and with the improvement of the detection techniques, etc., there is hope that a medium-term earthquake forecast would be feasible.

Fraction of the gluonium component in $η'$ and $η$

It is interesting to determine the fraction of the gluonium component in $η$ and $η'$ which has been under serious discussion for many years. Measurements on different decay and/or production modes were employed in literatures, thus larger uncertainties were unavoidable. In this paper we suggest to determine the mixing angles of $η-η'-G$ using the data of semileptonic decays of $D$ and $D_s$. We extract the mixing angles $ϕ'$, $ϕ_G$ and the model parameters simultaneously. Thanks to the new measurements carried out by CLEO Collaboration and there are sufficient decay modes to determine both the model parameters and mixing angles. The mixing angles from data are $ϕ'=(41.5\pm2.0)^\circ$ and $\sinϕ_G=0.00\pm0.36$. Even though the central value of $\sinϕ_G$ is still zero, an upper bound is set. Moreover, as suggested in literature, $η(1405)$ is a glueball candidate whereas in our picture, $η(1405)$ may be identified as $G$ with glueonium being its main content. Using all the model-parameters obtained above, we estimate the branching ratios of $D_s^+(D^+)\rightarrow Ge^+ν_e$ where G is identified as $η(1405)$.

Geometrical Model for Non-Zero theta_13

Based on Friedberg and Lee's geometric picture by which the tribimaximal Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakawaga-Sakata leptonic mixing matrix is constructed, namely, corresponding mixing angles correspond to the geometric angles among the sides of a cube. We suggest that the three realistic mixing angles, which slightly deviate from the values determined for the cube, are due to a viable deformation from the perfectly cubic shape. Taking the best-fitted results of $θ_{12}$ and $θ_{23}$ as inputs, we determine the central value of $\sin^22θ_{13}$ should be 0.0238, with a relatively large error tolerance; this value lies in the range of measurement precision of the Daya Bay experiment and is consistent with recent results from the T2K Collaboration.

Production of charmed baryon $Λ_c(2940)^+$ at PANDA

In this work we evaluate the production rate of the charmed baryon $Λ_c(2940)^+$ at PANDA. For possible assignments of $Λ_c(2940)^+$: $J^P=1/2^\pm$, $3/2^\pm$ and $5/2^\pm$, the total cross section of $p\bar{p}\to \barΛ_c Λ_c(2940)^+$ is estimated, which may exceed 1 nb. With the designed luminosity ($2\times10^{-32}$cm$^{-2}$/s) of PANDA, our estimate indicates that ten thousand events per day if $Λ_c(2940)^+$ is of $J^P=1/2^+$ or $10^8$ per day if it is of $J^P=5/2^+$ can be expected. Those values actually set the lower and upper limits of the $Λ_c(2940)^+$ production. In addition, we present the Dalitz plot and carry out a rough background analysis of the $Λ_c(2940)^+$ production in the $p\bar{p}\to D^0 p\barΛ_c$ and $p\bar{p}\to Σ_c^{0,++}π^{+,-}\barΛ_c$ processes, which would provide valuable information for accurate determination of the $Λ_c(2940)^+$ identity.

Study on the mixing among the $0^{++}$ mesons around $1\sim 2$ $\mathrm{GeV}$ with the QCD sum rules

We calculate the correlation functions of $0^{++}$ $q\bar q$, $s\bar s$ and glueball in the QCD sum rules and obtain the mass matrix where non-diagonal terms are determined by the cross correlations among the three states. Diagonalizing the mass matrix and identifying the eigenstates as the physical $0^{++}$ scalar mesons, we can determine the mixing. Concretely, our calculations determine the fractions of $q\bar q$, $s\bar s$ and glueball in the physical states $f_0(1370)$, $f_0(1500)$ and $f_0(1710)$, the results are consistent with that gained by the phenomenological research.

Vertex functions for d-wave mesons in the light-front approach

While the light-front quark model (LFQM) is employed to calculate hadronic transition matrix elements, the vertex functions must be pre-determined. In this work we derive the vertex functions for all d-wave states in this model. Especially, since both of $^3D_1$ and $^3S_1$ are $1^{--}$ mesons, the Lorentz structures of their vertex functions are the same. Thus when one needs to study the processes where $^3D_1$ is involved, all the corresponding formulas for $^3S_1$ states can be directly applied, only the coefficient of the vertex function should be replaced by that for $^3D_1$. The results would be useful for studying the newly observed resonances which are supposed to be d-wave mesons and furthermore the possible 2S-1D mixing in $ψ'$ with the LFQM.

What do the radiative decays of X(3872) tell us

Since the discovery of X(3872), its structure has been in ceaseless dispute. The data of $X(3872)\rightarrow π^+π^-π^0 J/ψ$ suggest that X(3872) may be a high-spin charmonium-like of $2^{-+}$. In terms of the light front quark model (LFQM) we calculate the rates of the radiative decays $X(3872)\rightarrow J/ψ(ψ')γ$ supposing X(3872) to be a $2^{-+}$ charmonium. Within this framework, our theoretical prediction on $\mathcal{BR}(X(3872)\rightarrowψ(1S)γ)$ is at order of $10^{-3}$ which is slightly lower than the Babar's data but close to the Belle's. Our prediction on $\mathcal{BR}(X(3872)\rightarrowψ'γ)$ is at order of $10^{-5}$ if $ψ'$ is a pure 2S state or $10^{-4}$ if $ψ'$ is a $2S-1D$ mixture, which does not conflict with the upper bound set by the Belle collaboration, but is much lower than the Babar's data. Thus if the future measurement decides the branching ratio of $\mathcal{BR}(X(3872)\rightarrowψ'γ)$ to be much larger than $10^{-4}$, the $2^{-+}$ assignment for X(3872) should be ruled out.

$B^{(*)}\bar B^{(*)}$ intermediate state contribution to $Υ(4S,5S)\to η_b+γ$ radiative decay

In this work, we investigate the re-scattering effects in the radiative decay $Υ(5S)\toη_b+γ$, which were suggested to be crucially important for understanding the anomalous largeness of the branching ratios $B(Υ(5S)\to Υ(1S)+ππ)$ and $B(Υ(5S)\to Υ(1S)+η)$. Our calculations show that the re-scattering effects may enhance $Γ(Υ(10860)\to η_b+γ)$ by four orders, but the tetraquark structure does not. Recently the BaBar and CLEO collaborations have measured the mass of ${η_b}$ and the branching ratios $\mathcal{B}(Υ(2S)\rightarrowη_b+γ)$, $\mathcal{B}(Υ(3S)\rightarrowη_b+γ)$. We hope that very soon, $Υ(10860)\to η_b+γ$ will be measured and it would be an ideal opportunity for testing whether the re-scattering or the tetraquark structure is responsible for the anomaly of $\mathcal{B}\big(Υ(5S)\rightarrowΥ(nS)π^+π^- (n=1,2,3)\big)$, $i.e.$, the future measurements on the radiative decays of $Υ(5S)$ might be a touchstone of the two mechanisms.

Constraints on Scalar Dark Matter from Direct Experimental Searches

The standard model (SM) plus a real gauge-singlet scalar field dubbed darkon (SM+D) is the simplest model possessing a weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) dark-matter candidate. The upper limits for the WIMP-nucleon elastic cross-section as a function of WIMP mass from the recent XENON10 and CDMS-II experiments rule out darkon mass ranges from 10 to (50,70,75) GeV for Higgs-boson masses of (120,200,350) GeV, respectively. This may exclude the possibility of the darkon providing an explanation for the gamma-ray excess observed in the EGRET data. We show that by extending the SM+D to a two-Higgs-doublet model plus a darkon the experimental constraints on the WIMP-nucleon interactions can be circumvented due to suppression occurring at some values of the product tan(alpha)tan(beta), with alpha being the neutral-Higgs mixing angle and tan(beta) the ratio of vacuum expectation values of the Higgs doublets. We also comment on the implication of the darkon model for Higgs searches at the LHC.

Determining the $η-η'$ mixing by the newly measured $BR(D(D_s)\toη(η')+\bar l+ν_l$

The mixing of $η-η'$ or $η-η'-G$ is of a great theoretical interest, because it concerns many aspects of the underlying dynamics and hadronic structure of pseudoscalar mesons and glueball. Determining the mixing parameters by fitting data is by no means trivial. In order to extract the mixing parameters from the available processes where hadrons are involved, theoretical evaluation of hadronic matrix elements is necessary. Therefore model-dependence is somehow unavoidable. In fact, it is impossible to extract the mixing angle from a unique experiment because the model parameters must be obtained by fitting other experiments. Recently $BR(D\toη+\bar l+ν_l)$ and $BR(D_s\toη(η')+\bar l+ν_l)$ have been measured, thus we are able to determine the $η-η'$ mixing solely from the semileptonic decays of D-mesons where contamination from the final state interactions is absent. Thus we hope that the model-dependence of the extraction can be somehow alleviated. Once $BR(D\toη'+\bar l+ν_l)$ is measured, we can further determine all the mixing parameters for $η-η'-G$. As more data are accumulated, the determination will be more accurate. In this work, we obtain the transition matrix elements of $D_{(s)}\to η^{(\prime)}$ using the light-front quark model whose feasibility and reasonability for such processes have been tested.

Phenomenological study on the significance of the scalar potential and Lamb shift

We indicated in our previous work that for QED the contributions of the scalar potential which appears at the loop level is much smaller than that of the vector potential and in fact negligible. But the situation may be different for QCD, one reason is that the loop effects are more significant because $α_s$ is much larger than $α$, and secondly the non-perturbative QCD effects may induce the scalar potential. In this work, we phenomenologically study the contribution of the scalar potential to the spectra of charmonia. Taking into account both vector and scalar potentials, by fitting the well measured charmonia spectra, we re-fix the relevant parameters and test them by calculating other states of the charmonia family. We also consider the role of the Lamb shift and present the numerical results with and without involving the Lamb shift.

Re-Study on the wave functions of $Υ(nS)$ states in LFQM and the radiative decays of $Υ(nS)\to η_b+γ$

The Light-front quark model (LFQM) has been applied to calculate the transition matrix elements of heavy hadron decays. However, it is noted that using the traditional wave functions of the LFQM given in literature, the theoretically determined decay constants of the $Υ(nS)$ obviously contradict to the data. It implies that the wave functions must be modified. Keeping the orthogonality among the $nS$ states and fitting their decay constants we obtain a series of the wave functions for $Υ(nS)$. Based on these wave functions and by analogy to the hydrogen atom, we suggest a modified analytical form for the $Υ(nS)$ wave functions. By use of the modified wave functions, the obtained decay constants are close to the experimental data. Then we calculate the rates of radiative decays of $Υ(nS)\to η_b+γ$. Our predictions are consistent with the experimental data on decays $Υ(3S)\to η_b+γ$ within the theoretical and experimental errors.

Search for $B_c(ns)$ via the $B_c(ns)\to B_c(ms)π^+π^-$ transition at LHCb and $Z_0$ factory

It is interesting to study the characteristics of the whole family of $B_c$ which contains two different heavy flavors. LHC and the proposed $Z^0$ factory provide an opportunity because a large database on the $B_c$ family will be achieved. $B_c$ and its excited states can be identified via their decay modes. As suggested by experimentalists, $B_c^*(ns)\to B_c+γ$ is not easy to be clearly measured, instead, the trajectories of $π^+$ and $π^-$ occurring in the decay of $B_c(ns)\to B_c(ms)+π^+π^-$ ($n>m$) can be unambiguously identified, thus the measurement seems easier and more reliable, therefore this mode is more favorable at early running stage of LHCb and the proposed $Z^0$ factory. In this work, we calculate the rate of $B_c(ns)\to B_c(ms)+π^+π^-$ in terms of the QCD multipole-expansion and the numerical results indicate that the experimental measurements with the luminosity of LHC and $Z^0$ factory are feasible.

Study on the radiative decays of $Υ(nS)\to η_b+γ$

In this work, we investigate the characteristics of the spin-singlet state $η_b$ of the bottomonia family via the radiative decays of $Υ(nS)\to η_b+γ$. The theoretical estimation of the decay widths is carried out in terms of the light-front quark model (LFQM). Recently CLEO and BaBar collaborations have measured $\mathcal{B}(Υ(3S)\toγη_b)$ and the mass of ${η_b}$. In terms of the data we fix the concerned input parameters in our calculations of $Υ(nS)\to η_b+γ$. A special attention is paid on the transition of $Υ(5S)\to η_b+γ$. The BELLE data showed that the width of $Υ(5S)\to Υ(2S,1S)+ππ$ is two orders larger than that of $Υ(4S)\to Υ(2S,1S)+ππ$, thus some theoretical explanations have been proposed. Among them, it is suggested the inelastic final state interaction (IFSI) $Υ(5S)\to B\bar B\to Υ(1S)+ππ$ may be a natural one. If so, a similar mechanism also applies to $Υ(5S)\to B^{(*)}\bar B^{(*)}\to η_b+γ$, the precise measurement would serve as a good test whether $Υ(5S)$ possess exotic components. Our calculation in the LFQM indicates that the rate of the direct process $Υ(5S)\toη_b+γ$ is not anomalous compared to $Υ(mS)\toη_b+γ(m=1,2,3,4)$, thus if the IFSI does apply, the rate of $Υ(5S)\toη_b+γ$ should be larger than the others by orders.

The magnetic dipole transitions in the $(c\bar{b})$ binding system

The magnetic dipole transitions between the vector mesons $B_c^*$ and their relevant pseudoscalar mesons $B_c$ ($B_c$, $B_c^*$, $B_c(2S)$, $B_c^*(2S)$, $B_c(3S)$ and $B_c^*(3S)$ etc, the binding states of $(c\bar{b})$ system) of the $B_c$ family are interesting. To see the `hyperfine' splitting due to spin-spin interaction is an important topic for understanding the spin-spin interaction and the spectrum of the the $(c\bar{b})$ binding system. The knowledge about the magnetic dipole transitions is also very useful for identifying the vector boson $B_c^*$ mesons experimentally, whose masses are just slightly above the masses of their relevant pseudoscalar mesons $B_c$ accordingly. Considering the possibility to observe the vector mesons via the transitions at $Z^0$ factory and the potentially usages of the theoretical estimate on the transitions, we fucus our efforts on calculating the magnetic dipole transitions, i.e. precisely to calculate the rates for the transitions such as decays $B_c^*\to B_cγ$ and $B_c^*\to B_c e^+e^-$, and particularly work in the Behte-Salpeter framework. In the estimate, as a typical example, we carefully investigate the dependance of the rate $Γ(B_c^*\to B_cγ)$ on the mass difference $ΔM=M_{B_c^*}-M_{B_c}$ as well.

The Simplest Dark-Matter Model, CDMS II Results, and Higgs Detection at LHC

The direct-search experiment for dark matter performed by the CDMS II Collaboration has observed two candidate events. Although these events cannot be interpreted as significant evidence for the presence of weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) dark matter (DM), the total CDMS II data have led to an improved upper-limit on the WIMP-nucleon spin-independent cross-section. We study some implications of these results for the simplest WIMP DM model, the SM+D, which extends the standard model (SM) by the addition of a real SM-singlet scalar field dubbed darkon to play the role of the DM. We find that, although the CDMS II data rule out a sizable portion of parameter space of the model, a large part of the parameter space is still allowed. We obtain strong correlations among the darkon mass, darkon-nucleon cross-section, mass of the Higgs boson, and branching ratio of its invisible decay. We point out that measurements of the Higgs invisible branching-ratio at the LHC can lift some possible ambiguities in determining the darkon mass from direct DM searches.

Understanding the branching ratios of χ_{c1}\toϕϕ, ωω, ωϕobserved at BES-III

In this work, we discuss the contribution of the mesonic loops to the decay rates of $χ_{c1}\to ϕϕ,\,ωω$ which are suppressed by the helicity selection rules and $χ_{c1}\to ϕω$ which is a double-OZI forbidden process. We find that the mesonic loop effects naturally explain the clear signals of $χ_{c1}\to ϕϕ,\,ωω$ decay modes observed by the BES collaboration. Moreover, we investigate the effects of the $ω-ϕ$ mixing which may result in the order of magnitude of the branching ratio $BR(χ_{c1} \to ωϕ)$ being $10^{-7}$. Thus, we are waiting for the accurate measurements of the $BR(χ_{c1} \to ωω)$, $BR(χ_{c1} \to ϕϕ)$ and $BR(χ_{c1} \to ωϕ)$, which may be very helpful for testing the long-distant contribution and the $ω-ϕ$ mixing in $χ_{c1}\toϕϕ,\,ωω,\,ωϕ$ decays.

Evaluating decay Rates and Asymmetries of $Λ_b$ into Light Baryons in LFQM

In this work we calculate the branching ratios of semi-leptonic and non-leptonic decays of $Λ_b$ into light baryons ($p$ and $Λ$), as well as the measurable asymmetries which appear in the processes, in the light front quark model (LFQM). In the calculation, we adopt the diquark picture and discuss the justifiability of applying the picture in our case. Our result on the branching ratio of $Λ_b\toΛ+J/ψ$ is in good agreement with data. More predictions are made in the same model and the results will be tested in the future experiments which will be conducted at LHCb and even ILC.

Symmetry of Dirac Equation and Corresponding Phenomenology

It has been suggested that the high symmetries in the Schrödinger equation with the Coulomb or harmonic oscillator potentials may remain in the corresponding relativistic Dirac equation. If the principle is correct, in the Dirac equation the potential should have a form as ${(1+β)\over 2}V(r)$ where $V(r)$ is ${-e^2\over r}$ for hydrogen atom and $κr^2$ for harmonic oscillator. However, in the case of hydrogen atom, by this combination the spin-orbit coupling term would not exist and it is inconsistent with the observational spectra of hydrogen atom, so that the symmetry of SO(4) must reduce into SU(2). The governing mechanisms QED and QCD which induce potential are vector-like theories, so at the leading order only vector potential exists. However, the higher order effects may cause a scalar fraction. In this work, we show that for QED, the symmetry restoration is very small and some discussions on the symmetry breaking are made. At the end, we briefly discuss the QCD case and indicate that the situation for QCD is much more complicated and interesting.

Testing the Bell Inequality at Experiments of High Energy Physics

Besides using the laser beam, it is very tempting to directly testify the Bell inequality at high energy experiments where the spin correlation is exactly what the original Bell inequality investigates. In this work, we follow the proposal raised in literature and use the successive decays $J/ψ\toγη_c\to Λ\barΛ\to pπ^-\bar pπ^+$ to testify the Bell inequality. Our goal is twofold, namely, we first make a Monte-Carlo simulation of the processes based on the quantum field theory (QFT). Since the underlying theory is QFT, it implies that we pre-admit the validity of quantum picture. Even though the QFT is true, we need to find how big the database should be, so that we can clearly show deviations of the correlation from the Bell inequality determined by the local hidden variable theory. There have been some critiques on the proposed method, so in the second part, we suggest some improvements which may help to remedy the ambiguities indicated by the critiques. It may be realized at an updated facility of high energy physics, such as BES III.

Constraints on Unparticle Interactions from Particle and Antiparticle Oscillations

We study unparticle effects on particle and antiparticle osillations in meson-antimeson, and muonium-antimuonium systems. Unlike usual tree level contributions to meson oscillations from heavy particle exchange with small $Γ_{12}$, the unparticle may have sizeable contributions to both $M_{12}$ and $Γ_{12}$ due to fractional dimension $d_\U$ of the unparticle. We find that very stringent constraints on the unparticle and particle interactions can be obtained. If unparticle effect dominates the contributions (which may happen in $D^0-\bar D^0$ mixing) to meson mixing parameters $x$ and $y$, we find that $x/y =\cot(πd_\U)$. Interesting constraints on unparticle and particle interactions can also be obtained using muonion and antimuonion oscillation data. We also comment on unparticle effects on CP violation in meson oscillations.

Its spin-parity, so far has not finally determined and if it exists, its quark-structure might be exotic. Following the previous literature where $D_{sJ}(2632)$ is assumed to be a radial-excited state of $1^-$, we consider the possibilities that it might be a $q\bar q$ ground state of $2^+$ or the first radial-excited state of $0^+$ $D_{sJ}(2317)$ and re-calculate its strong decay widths in terms of the Bethe-Salpeter equation. Study on the Form Factors at Effective Vertices of Diqarks Interacting with Gauge Bosons

The diquark structure in baryons is commonly accepted as a reasonable approximation which can much simplify the picture and reduce the length of calculations. However, a diquark by no means is a point-like particle, even though it is treated as a whole object. Therefore, to apply the diquark picture to the phenomenological calculations, at the effective vertices for the diquark-gauge boson interactions, suitable form factors must be introduced to compensate the effects caused by the inner structure of the diquark. It is crucial to derive the appropriate form factors for various interactions. In this work, we use the Bethe-Salpeter equation to derive such form factors and numerically evaluate their magnitudes.

Density dependence of quark masses and stability of color-flavor locked phases

Considering the density dependence of quark masses, we investigate the color-flavor-locked matter and its stability relative to the ( unpaired ) strange quark matter. We find that, when the current mass of strange quark $m_s$ is small, the strange quark matter remains stable for the moderate baryon densities. When $m_s$ is large, the gapless phase of the color-flavor-locked matter is found to be difficult to be stable. A schematic phase diagram of three-flavor quark matter is presented, in which the color-flavor-locked phase region is suppressed in comparison with the previous results.

Mixing of Pentaquark and Molecular States

There are experimental evidences for the existence of narrow states $Θ^+$ and $Θ_c$ with the same quantum numbers of $uudd\bar s$ and $uudd\bar c$ pentaquarks and also $NK^{(*)}$ and $ND^{(*)}$ molecular states. Their masses deviate from many theoretical estimates of the pure pentaquark and molecular states. In this work we study the possibility that the observed $Θ^+$ and $Θ_c$ are mixtures of pure pentaquark and molecular states. The mixing parameters are in general related to non-perturbative QCD which are not calculable at present. We determine them by fitting data from known states and then generalize the mechanism to $Θ_b$ to predict its mass and width. The mixing mechanism can also naturally explain the narrow width for $Θ^+$ and $Θ_c$ through destructive interferences, even if the pure pentaquark and molecular states have much larger decay widths. We also briefly discuss the properties of the partner eigenstates of $Θ^+$ and $Θ_c$ and the possibility of experimentally observe them. Moreover, probable consequences of multi-state mixing are also addressed.

$B\to Kπ$ Decays with $1/m_b$ Corrections in $QCD$ Factorization

It is commonly believed that a careful investigation of the subleading terms is crucial for a better understanding of the $QCD$ factorization in charmless B decays. In this work the penguin-dominated $B\to Kπ$ decays are discussed systematically, including the subleading corrections in $1/m_b$ due to soft and hard gluons, besides the annihilation contributions. Soft-gluon effects for all the relevant 4-quark effective operators are calculated within the framework of the light-cone QCD sum rules (LCSR). Our observation is that such soft and hard corrections are less important than the annihilation effects, enhancing only the branching ratios by a few percent; the resultant increase in the branching ratios due to the overall ${\cal O}(1/m_b)$ effects is between about $(22-27)%$ of the QCD factorization results with the ${\cal O}(α_s)$ corrections, as the weak phase $γ(=\textmd{Im}V_{ub}^*)$ ranges from $40^0$ to $80^0$. Impacts of the involved uncertainties are discussed in some details.

Especially, for $|q(bc)>_{1/2}$ there can be a mixing between $|q(bc)_0>_{1/2}$ and $|q(bc)_1>_{1/2}$ where the subscripts 0 and 1 refer to the spin state of the diquark (bc), the mixing is not calculable in the framework of quantum mechanics (QM) as the potential model is employed, but can be evaluated by the quantum field theory (QFT). Our numerical results indicate that the mixing is sizeable

Hadronic Decays Involving Heavy Pentaquarks

Recently several experiments have reported evidences for pentaquark $Θ^+$. H1 experiment at HERA-B has also reported evidence for $Θ_c$. $Θ^+$ is interpreted as a bound state of an $\bar s$ with other four light quarks $udud$ which is a member of the anti-decuplet under flavor $SU(3)_f$. While $Θ_c$ is a state by replacing the $\bar s$ in $Θ^+$ by a $\bar c$. One can also form $Θ_b$ by replacing the $\bar s$ by a $\bar b$. The charmed and bottomed heavy pentaquarks form triplets and anti-sixtets under $SU(3)_f$. We study decay processes involving at least one heavy pentaquark using $SU(3)_f$ and estimate the decay widths for some decay modes. We find several relations for heavy pentaquarks decay into another heavy pentaquark and a $B (B^*)$ or a $D(D^*)$ which can be tested in the future. $B$ can decay through weak interaction to charmed heavy pentaquarks. We also study some $B$ decay modes with a heavy pebtaquark in the final states. Experiments at the current $B$ factories can provide important information about the heavy pentaquark properties.

Instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter Equation and Its Exact Solution

We present an approach to solve a Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equation exactly without any approximation if the kernel of the BS equation exactly is instantaneous, and take positronium as an example to illustrate the general features of the solutions. As a middle stage, a set of coupled and self-consistent integration equations for a few scalar functions can be equivalently derived from the BS equation always, which are solvable accurately. For positronium, precise corrections to those of the Schrödinger equation in order $v$ (relative velocity) in eigenfunctions, in order $v^2$ in eigenvalues, and the possible mixing, such as that between $S$ ($P$) and $D$ ($F$) components in $J^{PC}=1^{--}$ ($J^{PC}=2^{++}$) states as well, are determined quantitatively. Moreover, we also point out that there is a problematic step in the classical derivation which was proposed first by E.E. Salpeter. Finally, we emphasize that for the effective theories (such as NRQED and NRQCD etc) we should pay great attention on the corrections indicated by the exact solutions.

Based on the present data, the three CKM angles may construct a spherical surface triangle whose area automatically provides a "holonomy" phase. By assuming this geometrical phase to be that in the CKM matrix determined by an unknown hidden symmetry, we compare the theoretical prediction on $ε$ with data and find they are consistent within error range. We also suggest restrictions for the Wolfenstein parameters explicitly, the agreement will be tested by more precise measurements in the future. At least we can claim that such geometrical phase should be part of the weak phase appearing in the CKM matrix, even not the whole.

Non-Spectator Contributions to Inclusive Charmless $B$ Decays

The light quarks inside $B$ mesons are usually treated as spectators and do not affect the decay rates which are assumed to be purely due to b quark decays. In this paper we calculate the non-spectator contributions to inclusive charmless $B$ decays due to the spectator effects. We find that the non-spectator contributions to the branching ratio for $\bar B^0$ are small ($<2\times 10^{-4}$), but the contributions to $ΔS = 0$ and $ΔS = -1$, $B^-$ decay branching ratios can be as large as $-7.5\times 10^{-4}$ and $2\times 10^{-3}$, respectively. These contributions may play an important role in rare charmless $B$ decays.

Gluonic Mesons in J/Psi Radiative Decay

The eta(1760) may be significantly produced in J/Psi radiative decay. We deduce from experimental data that its branching ratio to two gluons is bounded, 0.4 +- 0.3 < BR(eta(1760) -> gg) < 0.9 +- 0.3, consistent with gluonic admixture. Moreover, the expectation that there should be an isoscalar analogue of the gluonic (hybrid) meson candidate pi(1800) is argued to reinforce hybrid admixture in eta(1760). Two-gluon coupling of hybrids is estimated in a spectator model to be considerably larger than that of quarkonium. In addition, the two-photon coupling of eta(1760) is estimated to be 1.4 +- 0.7 keV.
