A search for feebly-interacting particles in BB decays with missing energy at Belle

We present a search for an invisible hidden-sector particle Xinv X_{\rm{inv}}, produced in B0→Dˉ0XinvB^0 \to \bar{D}^0 X_{\rm{inv}} and B±→hXinvB^\pm\to h X_{\rm{inv}} decays, where h=π±h = π^\pm, K±K^\pm, Ds±D_{s}^\pm, p±p^\pm. The search is performed using e+e−e^+ e^- collision data recorded with the Belle detector, corresponding to 711~fb−1^{-1}. No significant signal is observed. We set 90\% confidence level upper limits ranging between 10−410^{-4} and 10−610^{-6} on the branching fraction B(B→hXinv)\mathcal{B}(B \to h X_{\rm{inv}}) as a function of mXinvm_{ X_{\rm{inv}}}. Corresponding limits are set on B(B→hX)×B(X→γγ)\mathcal{B}(B \to hX)\times\mathcal{B}(X\toγγ) for lifetimes cτXcτ_X between 10 μ10~μm and 10 m. Many of these limits are the first direct constraints on their respective decays. Our results provide the most stringent exclusion limits to date on the branching fractions for all search channels, and exclude previously unexplored regions of parameter space relevant to several new physics models.

Search for an Axion-Like Particle in B→K(∗)a(→γγ)B\rightarrow K^{(*)} a (\rightarrowγγ) Decays at Belle

We report a search for an axion-like particle aa in B→K(∗)a(→γγ)B\rightarrow K^{(*)} a (\rightarrowγγ) decays using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. The search is based on a 711fb−1711 \mathrm{fb^{-1}} data sample collected at the Υ4SΥ4S resonance energy, corresponding to a sample of 772×106772\times10^6 Υ4SΥ4S events. In this study, we search for the decay of the axion-like particle into a pair of photons, a→γγa \rightarrow γγ. We scan the two-photon invariant mass in the range 0.16 GeV/c2−4.50 GeV/c20.16\ \mathrm{GeV/}c^2-4.50\ \mathrm{GeV}/c^2 for the KK modes and 0.16 GeV/c2−4.20 GeV/c20.16\ \mathrm{GeV/}c^2-4.20\ \mathrm{GeV}/c^2 for the K∗K^{*} modes. No significant signal is observed in any of the modes, and 90\% confidence level upper limits are established on the coupling to the WW boson, gaWg_aW, as a function of aa mass. The limits range from 3×10−6GeV−13 \times 10^{-6} \mathrm{GeV}^{-1} to 3×10−5GeV−13 \times 10^{-5} \mathrm{GeV}^{-1}, improving the current constraints on gaWg_aW by a factor of two over the most stringent previous experimental results.

Measurement of branching fractions and direct CPCP asymmetries for B→KπB \to Kπ and B→ππB\toππ decays at Belle II

We report measurements of the branching fractions and direct CP\it{CP} asymmetries of the decays B0→K+π−B^0 \to K^+ π^-, B+→K+π0B^+ \to K^+ π^0, B+→K0π+B^+ \to K^0 π^+, and B0→K0π0B^0 \to K^0 π^0, and use these for testing the standard model through an isospin-based sum rule. In addition, we measure the branching fraction and direct CP\it{CP} asymmetry of the decay B+→π+π0B^+ \to π^+π^0 and the branching fraction of the decay B0→π+π−B^0 \to π^+π^-. The data are collected with the Belle II detector from e+e−e^+e^- collisions at the Υ(4S)Υ(4S) resonance produced by the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy collider and contain 387×106387\times 10^6 bottom-antibottom meson pairs. Signal yields are determined in two-dimensional fits to background-discriminating variables, and range from 500 to 3900 decays, depending on the channel. We obtain −0.03±0.13±0.04-0.03 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.04 for the sum rule, in agreement with the standard model expectation of zero and with a precision comparable to the best existing determinations.

Measurement of the B0→D∗−ℓ+νℓB^{0} \rightarrow D^{*-} \ell^{+} ν_{\ell} branching ratio and ∣Vcb∣|V_{cb}| with a fully reconstructed accompanying BB meson in 2019-2021 Belle II data

We present a measurement of the B0→D∗−ℓ+νℓB^{0} \rightarrow D^{*-} \ell^{+} ν_{\ell} (ℓ=e,μ\ell=e,μ) branching ratio and of the CKM parameter ∣Vcb∣|V_{cb}| using signal decays accompanied by a fully reconstructed BB meson. The Belle II data set of electron-positron collisions at the Υ(4S)Υ(4S) resonance, corresponding to 189.3 \,fb−1^{-1} of integrated luminosity, is analyzed. With the Caprini-Lellouch-Neubert form factor parameterization, the parameters ηEWF(1)∣Vcb∣η_{\rm EW} F(1) |V_{cb}| and ρ2ρ^{2} are extracted, where ηEWη_{\rm EW} is an electroweak correction, F(1)F(1) is a normalization factor and ρ2ρ^{2} is a form factor shape parameter. We reconstruct 516 signal decays and thereby obtain B(B0→D∗−ℓ+νℓ)=(5.27±0.22 (stat)±0.38 (syst))%\mathcal{B} (B^{0} \rightarrow D^{*-} \ell^{+} ν_{\ell} ) = \left(5.27 \pm 0.22~\rm{\left(stat\right)} \pm 0.38~\rm{\left(syst\right)}\right) \%, ηEWF(1)∣Vcb∣×103=34.6±1.8 (stat)±1.7 (syst)η_{EW} F(1) |V_{cb}| \times 10^{3} = 34.6 \pm 1.8~\rm{\left(stat\right)} \pm 1.7~\rm{\left(syst\right)}, and ρ2=0.94±0.18 (stat)±0.11 (syst)ρ^{2} = 0.94 \pm 0.18~\rm{\left(stat\right)} \pm 0.11~\rm{\left(syst\right)}.

Search for rare decays B+→Ds(∗)+ηB^{+} \to D_{s}^{(\ast)+}η, Ds(∗)+Kˉ0D_{s}^{(\ast)+}\bar{K}^{0}, D+ηD^{+}η, and D+K0D^{+}K^{0}

We present a study of rare decay modes B+→Ds+h0B^{+} \to D_{s}^{+}h^{0}, B+→Ds∗+h0B^{+} \to D_{s}^{\ast+}h^{0}, and B+→D+h0B^{+} \to D^{+}h^{0}, where h0h^{0} denotes the neutral mesons ηη or K0K^{0}, using a data sample of (772±10)×106(772 \pm 10 ) \times 10^{6} BBˉB\bar{B} events produced at the Υ(4S)Υ(4S) resonance. The data were collected by the Belle detector operating at the asymmetric-energy KEKB collider. We observe no evidence for these decays, so we provide upper limits at the 90%\% confidence level on the branching fractions of B+→Ds+h0B^{+} \to D_{s}^{+}h^{0}, Ds∗+h0D_{s}^{\ast+}h^{0}, and D+h0D^{+}h^{0} decay modes. Along with rare decay modes, we report improved measurements of the color-suppressed decay branching fractions B(Bˉ0→D0η)\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to D^{0}η) = (26.6 ±\pm 1.2 ±\pm 2.1) ×\times 10−510^{-5} and B(Bˉ0→D0Kˉ0)\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to D^{0}\bar{K}^{0}) = (5.6 ±\pm 0.5 ±\pm 0.2) ×\times 10−510^{-5}. An improved search for the electric dipole moment of the ττ lepton

We report a measurement of the electric dipole moment of the ττ lepton (dτd_τ) using an 833~fb−1^{-1} data sample collected near the Υ(4S)Υ(4S) resonance, with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e−e^+ e^- collider. Using an optimal observable method, we obtain the real and imaginary parts of dτd_τ as Re(dτ)=(−0.62±0.63)×10−17 ecm{\rm Re}(d_τ) = ( -0.62 \pm 0.63 ) \times 10^{-17} ~e{\rm cm} and Im(dτ)=(−0.40±0.32)×10−17 ecm{\rm Im}(d_τ) = ( -0.40 \pm 0.32 ) \times 10^{-17} ~e{\rm cm}, respectively. These results are consistent with null electric dipole moment at the present level of experimental sensitivity and improve the sensitivity by about a factor of three.

Evidence of a new excited charmed baryon decaying to Σc(2455)0,++π±Σ_{c}(2455)^{0,++} π^{\pm}

We present the study of Bˉ0→Σc(2455)0,++π±pˉ\bar{B}^{0} \to Σ_{c}(2455)^{0,++} π^{\pm} \bar{p} decays based on 772×106772\times 10^{6} BBˉB\bar{B} events collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e−e^+e^- collider. The Σc(2455)0,++Σ_{c}(2455)^{0,++} candidates are reconstructed via their decay to Λc+π∓Λ_{c}^{+} π^{\mp} and Λc+Λ_{c}^{+} decays to pK−π+, pKS0,pK^{-}π^{+},~pK_{S}^{0}, and Λπ+Λπ^{+} final states. The corresponding branching fractions are measured to be B(Bˉ0→Σc(2455)0π+pˉ)=(1.09±0.06±0.07)×10−4{\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to Σ_{c}(2455)^{0} π^{+} \bar{p}) = (1.09 \pm 0.06 \pm 0.07)\times10^{-4} and B(Bˉ0→Σc(2455)++π−pˉ)=(1.84±0.11±0.12)×10−4{\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to Σ_{c}(2455)^{++} π^{-} \bar{p}) = (1.84\pm 0.11 \pm 0.12)\times 10^{-4}, which are consistent with the world average values with improved precision. A new structure is found in the MΣc(2455)0,++π±M_{Σ_{c}(2455)^{0,++}π^{\pm}} spectrum with a significance of 4.2σ4.2σ including systematic uncertainty. The structure is possibly an excited Λc+Λ_{c}^{+} and is tentatively named Λc(2910)+Λ_{c}(2910)^{+}. Its mass and width are measured to be (2913.8±5.6±3.8)(2913.8 \pm 5.6 \pm 3.8) MeV/c2c^{2} and (51.8±20.0±18.8)(51.8\pm20.0 \pm 18.8) MeV, respectively. The products of branching fractions for the Λc(2910)+Λ_{c}(2910)^{+} are measured to be B(Bˉ0→Λc(2910)+pˉ)×B(Λc(2910)+→Σc(2455)0π+)=(9.5±3.6±1.6)×10−6{\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to Λ_{c}(2910)^{+}\bar{p})\times{\cal B}(Λ_{c}(2910)^{+} \to Σ_{c}(2455)^{0}π^{+}) = (9.5 \pm 3.6 \pm 1.6)\times 10^{-6} and B(Bˉ0→Λc(2910)+pˉ)×B(Λc(2910)+→Σc(2455)++π−)=(1.24±0.35±0.10)×10−5{\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to Λ_{c} (2910)^{+}\bar{p})\times {\cal B}(Λ_{c}(2910)^{+} \to Σ_{c}(2455)^{++}π^{-}) = (1.24 \pm 0.35 \pm 0.10)\times 10^{-5}. Here, the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.

A sample of e+e−e^{+} e^{-} collisions, corresponding to 189.8fb−1189.8 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity, recorded at the Υ(4S)Υ(4S) resonance is used for the first decay-time-dependent analysis of these decays within the experiment. First Measurement of the Λc+→pη′Λ_c^+ \to p η' decay

We present the first measurement of the branching fraction of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed (SCS) decay Λc+→pη′Λ_c^+ \to p η' with η′→ηπ+π−η' \to ηπ^+π^-, using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 981 fb−1\rm fb^{-1}, collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e^{+}e−e^{-} asymmetric-energy collider. A significant Λc+Λ_c^+ signal is observed for the first time with a signal significance of 5.4σσ. The relative branching fraction with respect to the normalization mode Λc+→pK−π+Λ_c^+ \to pK^-π^+ is measured to be \begin{equation*} \frac{{\cal B}(Λ_c^+ \to p η')}{{\cal B}(Λ_c^+ \to p K^-π^+)} = (7.54 \pm 1.32 \pm 0.75) \times 10^{-3}, \end{equation*} where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Using the world-average value of B(Λc+→pK−π+)=(6.28±0.32)×10−2{\cal B}(Λ_c^+ \to p K^-π^+) = (6.28\pm0.32)\times10^{-2}, we obtain \begin{equation*} {\cal B}(Λ_c^+ \to p η') = (4.73 \pm 0.82 \pm 0.47 \pm 0.24)\times 10^{-4}, \end{equation*} where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and from B(Λc+→pK−π+){\cal B}(Λ_c^+ \to pK^-π^+), respectively.

Search for a light Higgs boson in single-photon decays of Υ(1S)Υ(1S) using Υ(2S)→π+π−Υ(1S)Υ(2S) \to π^+ π^- Υ(1S) tagging method

We search for a light Higgs boson (A0A^0) decaying into a τ+τ−τ^+τ^- or μ+μ−μ^+μ^- pair in the radiative decays of Υ(1S)Υ(1S). The production of Υ(1S)Υ(1S) mesons is tagged by Υ(2S)→π+π−Υ(1S)Υ(2S)\to π^+ π^- Υ(1S) transitions, using 158 million Υ(2S)Υ(2S) events accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. No significant A0A^0 signals in the mass range from the τ+τ−τ^+τ^- or μ+μ−μ^+μ^- threshold to 9.2 GeV/c2c^2 are observed. We set the upper limits at 90\% credibility level (C.L.) on the product branching fractions for Υ(1S)→γA0Υ(1S)\to γA^0 and A0→τ+τ−A^0\to τ^+τ^- varying from 3.8×10−63.8\times10^{-6} to 1.5×10−41.5\times10^{-4}. Our results represent an approximately twofold improvement on the current world best upper limits for the Υ(1S)→γA0(→τ+τ−)Υ(1S)\to γA^0(\to τ^+τ^-) production. For A0→μ+μ−A^0\to μ^+μ^-, the upper limits on the product branching fractions for Υ(1S)→γA0Υ(1S)\to γA^0 and A0→μ+μ−A^0\to μ^+μ^- are at the same level as the world average limits, and vary from 3.1×10−73.1\times10^{-7} to 1.6×10−51.6\times10^{-5}. The upper limits at 90\% C.L. on the Yukawa coupling fΥ(1S)f_{Υ(1S)} and mixing angle sinθA0{\rm sin}θ_{A^0} are also given.

The invariant-mass spectra of the Ds+Ds+D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{+} and Ds∗+Ds∗+D_{s}^{*+} D_{s}^{*+} are studied to search for possible resonances. No significant signals are observed, and the 90\% confidence level upper limits on the product branching fractions [B(Υ(1S,2S)→Xccsˉsˉ+anything)×B(Xccsˉsˉ→Ds+Ds+(Ds∗+Ds∗+)){\cal B}(Υ(1S,2S) \to X_{cc\bar{s}\bar{s}} + anything) \times {\cal B}(X_{cc\bar{s}\bar{s}} \to D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{+}(D_{s}^{*+} D_{s}^{*+}))] in Υ(1S,2S)Υ(1S,2S) inclusive decays and the product values of Born cross section and branching fraction [σ(e+e−→Xccsˉsˉ+anything)×B(Xccsˉsˉ→Ds+Ds+(Ds∗+Ds∗+))σ(e^+e^- \to X_{cc\bar{s}\bar{s}} + anything ) \times {\cal B}(X_{cc\bar{s}\bar{s}} \to D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{+}(D_{s}^{*+} D_{s}^{*+}))] in e+e−e^+e^- collisions at s\sqrt{s} = 10.52~GeV, 10.58~GeV, and 10.867~GeV under different assumptions of XccsˉsˉX_{cc\bar{s}\bar{s}} masses and widths are obtained.

Study of B‾0→D+h−(h=K/π)\overline{B}{}^0\rightarrow D^{+}h^{-} (h=K/π) decays at Belle

We present a measurement of the branching fractions of the Cabibbo favored B‾0→D+π−\overline{B}{}^0\rightarrow D^{+}π^{-} and the Cabibbo suppressed B‾0→D+K−\overline{B}{}^0\rightarrow D^{+}K^{-} decays. We find B(B‾0→D+π−)=(2.48±0.01±0.09±0.04)×10−3\mathcal{B}(\overline{B}{}^0\rightarrow D^{+}π^{-}) = (2.48 \pm 0.01 \pm 0.09 \pm 0.04) \times 10^{-3} and B(B‾0→D+K−)=(2.03±0.05±0.07±0.03)×10−4\mathcal{B}(\overline{B}{}^0\rightarrow D^{+}K^{-})= (2.03 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.07 \pm 0.03) \times 10^{-4} decays, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third uncertainty is due to the D+→K−π+π+D^{+} \rightarrow K^{-}π^{+}π^{+} branching fraction. The ratio of branching fractions of B‾0→D+K−\overline{B}{}^0\rightarrow D^{+}K^{-} and B‾0→D+π−\overline{B}{}^0\rightarrow D^{+}π^{-} is measured to be RD=[8.19±0.20(stat)±0.23(syst)]×10−2R^{D} = [8.19 \pm 0.20(\rm stat) \pm 0.23(\rm syst)] \times 10^{-2} . These measurements are performed using the full Belle data set, which corresponds to 772×106BB‾772 \times 10^{6} B\overline{B} pairs.

The study of γγ→γψ(2S)γγ\toγψ(2S) at Belle

Using 980 fb−1980~\rm fb^{-1} of data on and around the Υ(nS)(n=1,2,3,4,5)Υ(nS)(n=1,2,3,4,5) resonances collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e−e^+e^- collider, the two-photon process γγ→γψ(2S)γγ\to γψ(2S) is studied from the threshold to 4.2 GeV4.2~{\rm GeV} for the first time. Two structures are seen in the invariant mass distribution of γψ(2S)γψ(2S): one at MR1=3922.4±6.5±2.0 MeV/c2M_{R_1} = 3922.4\pm 6.5 \pm 2.0~{\rm MeV}/c^2 with a width of ΓR1=22±17±4 MeVΓ_{R_1} = 22\pm 17\pm 4~{\rm MeV}, and another at MR2=4014.3±4.0±1.5 MeV/c2M_{R_2} = 4014.3\pm 4.0 \pm 1.5~{\rm MeV}/c^2 with a width of ΓR2=4±11±6 MeVΓ_{R_2} = 4\pm 11 \pm 6~{\rm MeV}; the signals are parametrized with the incoherent sum of two Breit-Wigner functions. The first structure is consistent with the X(3915)X(3915) or the χc2(3930)χ_{c2}(3930), and the local statistical significance is determined to be 3.1σ3.1σ with the systematic uncertainties included. The second matches none of the known charmonium or charmoniumlike states, and its global significance is determined to be 2.8σ2.8σ including the look-elsewhere effect. Combined analysis of Belle and Belle II data to determine the CKM angle ϕ3 ϕ_{3} using B+→D(KS0h−h+)h+B^+ \to D(K_{S}^0 h^- h^+) h^+ decays

We present a measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity triangle angle ϕ3 ϕ_{3} (also known as~γγ) using a model-independent Dalitz plot analysis of \linebreak B+→D(KS0h+h−)h+B^+\to D\left(K_{S}^{0}h^{+}h^{-}\right)h^+, where DD is either a D0D^0 or Dˉ0\bar{D}{}^0 meson and hh is either a ππ or KK. This is the first measurement that simultaneously uses Belle and Belle~II data, combining samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of \SI{711}{fb^{-1}} and \SI{128}{fb^{-1}}, respectively. All data were accumulated from energy-asymmetric e+e−e^+e^- collisions at a centre-of-mass energy corresponding to the mass of the Υ(4S)Υ(4S) resonance. We measure ϕ3=(78.4±11.4±0.5±1.0)∘ϕ_3 = \left(78.4 \pm 11.4 \pm 0.5 \pm 1.0 \right)^{\circ}, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty and the third is from the uncertainties on external measurements of the DD-decay strong-phase parameters.

Using the entire data sample of 980 fb−1980\mathrm{~fb}^{-1} collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e−e^+e^- collider, we present measurements of the branching fractions of the Cabibbo-favored decays Ξc0→ΛKS0Ξ_c^0 \to ΛK_S^0, Ξc0→Σ0KS0Ξ_c^0 \to Σ^0 K_S^0, and Ξc0→Σ+K−Ξ_c^0 \to Σ^+ K^-. Taking the decay $Ξ_c^0 \to Ξ^- \pip$ as the normalization mode, we measure the branching fraction ratio B(Ξc0→ΛKS0)/B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+)=0.229±0.008±0.012{\cal B}(Ξ_c^0 \to ΛK_S^0)/{\cal B}(Ξ_c^0 \to Ξ^- π^+) = 0.229\pm0.008\pm0.012 with improved precision, and measure the branching fraction ratios B(Ξc0→Σ0KS0)/B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+)=0.038±0.006±0.004{\cal B}(Ξ_c^0 \to Σ^0 K_S^0)/{\cal B}(Ξ_c^0 \to Ξ^- π^+) = 0.038\pm0.006\pm0.004 and B(Ξc0→Σ+K−)/B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+)=0.123±0.007±0.010{\cal B}(Ξ_c^0 \to Σ^+ K^-)/{\cal B}(Ξ_c^0 \to Ξ^- π^+) = 0.123\pm0.007\pm0.010 for the first time. Taking into account the branching fraction of the normalization mode, the absolute branching fractions are determined to be B(Ξc0→ΛKS0)=(3.27±0.11±0.17±0.73)×10−3{\cal B}(Ξ_c^0 \to ΛK_S^0) = (3.27\pm0.11\pm0.17\pm0.73) \times 10^{-3}, B(Ξc0→Σ0KS0)=(0.54±0.09±0.06±0.12)×10−3{\cal B}(Ξ_c^0 \to Σ^0 K_S^0) = (0.54\pm 0.09\pm 0.06\pm 0.12) \times 10^{-3}, and B(Ξc0→Σ+K−)=(1.76±0.10±0.14±0.39)×10−3{\cal B}(Ξ_c^0 \to Σ^+ K^-) = (1.76\pm 0.10\pm0.14\pm 0.39) \times 10^{-3}. The first and second uncertainties above are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third ones arise from the uncertainty of the branching fraction of Ξc0→Ξ−π+Ξ_c^0 \to Ξ^- π^+.

Search for B0B^0 meson decays into ΛΛ and missing energy with a hadronic tagging method at Belle

We present a search for the decays of B0B^0 mesons into a final state containing a ΛΛ baryon and missing energy. These results are obtained from a 711fb−1711\text{fb}^{-1} data sample that contains 772×106772 \times 10^6 BB‾B{\kern 0.18em}\overline{\kern -0.18em B} pairs and was collected near the Υ(4S)Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e−e^+e^- collider. We use events in which one BB meson is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode and require the remainder of the event to consist of only a single ΛΛ. No evidence for these decays is found and we set 90%90\% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions in the range 2.12.1-3.8×10−53.8\times 10^{-5}. This measurement provides the world's most restrictive limits, with implications for baryogenesis and dark matter production.

The analysis is performed on a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 953 fb−1\rm{fb}^{-1} collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+e−e^{+}e^{-} KEKB collider. The Dalitz plot is well described by a combination of the six resonant decay channels Kˉ∗(892)0η\bar{K}^{*}(892)^0η, K−a0(980)+K^{-}a_0(980)^+, K−a2(1320)+K^{-}a_2(1320)^+, Kˉ∗(1410)0η\bar{K}^{*}(1410)^0η, K∗(1680)−π+K^{*}(1680)^-π^{+} and K2∗(1980)−π+K_2^{*}(1980)^-π^{+}, together with KπKπ and KηKη S-wave components. The decays K∗(1680)−→K−ηK^{*}(1680)^{-}\to K^{-}η and K2∗(1980)−→K−ηK_{2}^{*}(1980)^{-}\to K^{-}η are observed for the first time. We measure ratio of the branching fractions, B(D0→K−π+η)B(D0→K−π+)=0.500±0.002(stat)±0.020(syst)±0.003(BPDG)\frac{\mathcal{B}(D^{0}\to K^{-}π^{+}η)}{\mathcal{B}(D^{0}\to K^{-}π^{+})}=0.500\pm0.002{\rm(stat)}\pm0.020{\rm(syst)}\pm0.003{\rm (\mathcal{B}_{PDG})}. Using the Dalitz fit result, the ratio B(K∗(1680)→Kη)B(K∗(1680)→Kπ)\frac{\mathcal{B}(K^{*}(1680)\to Kη)}{\mathcal{B}(K^{*}(1680)\to Kπ)} is measured to be 0.11±0.02(stat)−0.04+0.06(syst)±0.04(BPDG)0.11\pm0.02{\rm(stat)}^{+0.06}_{-0.04}{\rm(syst)}\pm0.04{\rm(\mathcal{B}_{\text{PDG}})}; this is much lower than the theoretical expectations (≈1\approx1) made under the assumption that K∗(1680)K^{*}(1680) is a pure 13D11^{3}D_1 state. The product branching fraction B(D0→[K2∗(1980)−→K−η]π+)=(2.2−1.9+1.7)×10−4\mathcal{B}(D^0\to [K_2^{*}(1980)^-\to K^{-}η]π^{+})=(2.2^{+1.7}_{-1.9})\times10^{-4} is determined. In addition, the πη′πη^{\prime} contribution to the a0(980)±a_0(980)^{\pm} resonance shape is confirmed with 10.1σσ statistical significance using the three-channel Flatté model. We also measure B(D0→Kˉ∗(892)0η)=(1.41−0.12+0.13)%\mathcal{B}(D^0\to\bar{K}^{*}(892)^0η)=(1.41^{+0.13}_{-0.12})\%. This is consistent with, and more precise than, the current world average (1.02±0.30)%(1.02\pm0.30)\%, deviates with a significance of more than 3σ3σ from the theoretical predictions of (0.51-0.92)%.

We find evidence for an enhancement with a 3.4σσ significance in the invariant mass of Ds+Ds2∗(2573)−+c.c.D^+_sD^*_{s2}(2573)^- +c.c. The measured mass and width are (4619.8−8.0+8.9(stat.)±2.3(syst.)) MeV/c2(4619.8^{+8.9}_{-8.0}({\rm stat.})\pm2.3({\rm syst.}))~{\rm MeV}/c^{2} and (47.0−14.8+31.3(stat.)±4.6(syst.)) MeV(47.0^{+31.3}_{-14.8}({\rm stat.})\pm4.6({\rm syst.}))~{\rm MeV}, respectively. The mass, width, and quantum numbers of this enhancement are consistent with the charmonium-like state at 4626 MeV/c2c^2 recently reported by Belle in e+e−→Ds+Ds1(2536)−+c.c.e^+e^-\to D^+_sD_{s1}(2536)^-+c.c. Measurement of two-particle correlations in hadronic e+e−e^{+}e^{-} collisions at Belle

The enhancement of charged-particle pairs with large pseudorapidity difference and small azimuthal angle difference, often referred to as the ``ridge signal'', is a phenomenon widely observed in high multiplicity proton-proton, proton-ion and deutron-ion collisions, which is not yet fully understood. In heavy-ion collisions, the hydrodynamic expansion of the Quark-Gluon Plasma is one of the possible explanations of the origin of the ridge signal. Measurements in the e+e−e^+e^- collision system, without the complexities introduced by hadron structure in the initial state, can serve as a complementary probe to examine the formation of a ridge signal. The first measurement of two-particle angular correlation functions in high multiplicity e+e−e^+e^- collisions at s=10.52\sqrt{s}=10.52 GeV is reported. The hadronic e+e−e^+e^- annihilation data collected by the Belle detector at KEKB are used in this study. Two-particle angular correlation functions are measured over the full azimuth and large pseudorapidity intervals which are defined by either the electron beam axis or the event thrust as a function of charged particle multiplicity. The measurement in the event thrust analysis, with mostly outgoing quark pairs determining the reference axis, is sensitive to the region of additional soft gluon emissions. No significant ridge signal is observed with either coordinates analyses. Near side jet correlations appear to be absent in the thrust axis analysis. The measurements are compared to predictions from various event generators and expected to provide new constraints to the phenomenological models in the low energy regime.

Search for the Decay Bs0→η′ηB_s^0 \rightarrow η^\prime η

In the Standard Model (SM) charmless hadronic decays Bs0→η′ηB_s^0 \rightarrow η^\prime η proceed via tree-level b→ub\to u and penguin b→sb\to s transitions. Penguin transitions are sensitive to Beyond-the-Standard-Model (BSM) physics scenarios and could affect the branching fractions and {\it CP} asymmetries in such decays. Once branching fractions for two-body decays Bs→ηη,ηη′,η′η′B_s \to ηη, ηη^{\prime}, η^{\prime}η^{\prime} are measured, and the theoretical uncertainties are reduced, it would be possible to extract {\it CP} violating parameters from the data using the formalism based on SU(3)/U(3) symmetry. To achieve this goal, at least four of these six branching fractions need to be measured. Only the branching fraction for Bs0→η′η′B_s^0 \to η^{\prime}η^{\prime} has been measured so far.

Update of inclusive cross sections of single and pairs of identified light charged hadrons

We report new measurements of the production cross sections of pairs of charged pions and kaons as a function of their fractional energies using various fractional-energy definitions. Two different fractional-energy definitions were used and compared to the conventional fractional-energy definition reported previously. The new variables aim at either identifying dihadron cross sections in terms of single-hadron fragmentation functions, or to provide a means of characterizing the transverse momentum created in the fragmentation process. The results were obtained applying the updated initial-state radiation correction used in other recent Belle publications on light-hadron production cross sections. In addition, production cross sections of single charged pions, kaons, and protons were also updated using this initial-state radiation correction. The cross sections are obtained from a 558 fb−1558\,{\rm fb}^{-1} data sample collected at the Υ(4S)Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e−e^+ e^- collider.

The signal yields for these decays are extracted from the recoil mass spectrum of the system recoiling against Λˉc−\barΛ_{c}^{-} baryons in selected B−B^- candidates. The branching fraction of B−→Λˉc−Ξc(2790)0B^{-} \to \barΛ_{c}^{-} Ξ_{c}(2790)^{0} is measured to be (1.1±0.4±0.2)×10−3 (1.1 \pm 0.4 \pm 0.2)\times 10^{-3}, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The 90\% credibility level upper limits on B(B−→Λˉc−Ξc′0){\cal B}(B^{-} \to \barΛ_{c}^{-} Ξ_{c}^{'0}) and B(B−→Λˉc−Ξc(2645)0){\cal B}(B^{-} \to \barΛ_{c}^{-} Ξ_{c}(2645)^{0}) are determined to be 6.5×10−46.5\times 10^{-4} and 7.9×10−47.9\times 10^{-4}, respectively.
