Machine learning-aided direct estimation of coherence and entanglement for unknown states

Quantum coherence and entanglement are fundamental resources in quantum technologies, yet their efficient estimation for unknown states by employing minimal resources in experimental settings remains challenging, particularly in high-dimensional systems. We present a machine learning approach based on support vector regression (SVR) that directly estimates the coherence measures and the geometric measure of quantum entanglement using minimal experimental resources. Our method requires only the diagonal entries of the density matrix, along with the traces of the squared and cubed density matrices for quantum coherence, and additionally along with the traces of the squared and cubed reduced density matrix for estimating quantum entanglement. These quantities can be obtained through random measurements or a hybrid quantum-classical framework. This approach significantly reduces the resource overhead compared to quantum state tomography while maintaining high accuracy. {Furthermore, the support vector quantile regression (SVQR) with pinball loss is employed to prevent SVR overestimation. This model not only ensures that over 95\% of predictions are conservative lower bounds in most cases, but also maintains this lower-bound reliability for over 93\% of predictions, despite 2\% perturbations in the input features.} The proposed technique provides a practical and scalable tool for characterizing quantum resources across computation, communication, and metrology applications.

A new entanglement measure based on the total concurrence

Quantum entanglement is a crucial resource in quantum information processing, advancing quantum technologies. The greater the uncertainty in subsystems' pure states, the stronger the quantum entanglement between them. From the dual form of $q$-concurrence ($q\geq 2$) we introduce the total concurrence. A bona fide measure of quantum entanglement is introduced, the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_q$-concurrence ($q \geq 2$), which is based on the total concurrence. Analytical lower bounds for the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_q$-concurrence are derived. In addition, an analytical expression is derived for the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_q$-concurrence in the cases of isotropic and Werner states. Furthermore, the monogamy relations that the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_q$-concurrence satisfies for qubit systems are examined. Additionally, based on the parameterized $α$-concurrence and its complementary dual, the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_α$-concurrence $(0\leqα\leq\frac{1}{2})$ is also proposed.

Quantum Speed Limits Based on the Sharma-Mittal Entropy

Quantum speed limits (QSLs) establish intrinsic bounds on the minimum time required for the evolution of quantum systems. We present a class of QSLs formulated in terms of the two-parameter Sharma-Mittal entropy (SME), applicable to finite-dimensional systems evolving under general nonunitary dynamics. In the single-qubit case, the QSLs for both quantum channels and non-Hermitian dynamics are analyzed in detail. For many-body systems, we explore the role of SME-based bounds in characterizing the reduced dynamics and apply the results to the XXZ spin chain model. These entropy-based QSLs characterize fundamental limits on quantum evolution speeds and may be employed in contexts including entropic uncertainty relations, quantum metrology, coherent control and quantum sensing.

A characterization of maximally entangled two-qubit states

As already known by Rana's result \href{https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevA.87.054301}{[\pra {\bf87} (2013) 054301]}, all eigenvalues of any partial-transposed bipartite state fall within the closed interval $[-\frac12,1]$. In this note, we study a family of bipartite quantum states whose minimal eigenvalues of partial-transposed states being $-\frac12$. For a two-qubit system, we find that the minimal eigenvalue of its partial-transposed state is $-\frac12$ if and only if such two-qubit state must be maximally entangled. However this result does not hold in general for a two-qudit system when the dimensions of the underlying space are larger than two.

A Necessary and Sufficient Entanglement Criterion of N-qubit System Based on Correlation Tensor

Great advances have been achieved in studying characteristics of entanglement for fundamentals of quantum mechanics and quantum information processing. However, even for N-qubit systems, the problem of entanglement criterion has not been well solved. In this Letter, using the method of state decomposition and high order singular value decomposition (HOSVD), we propose a necessary and sufficient entanglement criterion for general N-qubit systems. As an example, we apply our method to study the multi-qubit W state with white noise. We not only obtain the separability critical point, which is tight and thus better than known results, but also the separate states ensemble for decomposition. More examples are presented to show our criterion is accurate, which is tighter than the well-known positive partial transpose criterion. For two-qubit case, we can provide an entanglement measurer which gives similar results with concurrence up to a factor. Our results pave the way to solve the entanglement-separability criterion for more general cases.

A new parameterized monogamy relation between entanglement and equality

We provide a generalized definition of the monogamy relation for entanglement measures. A monogamy equality rather than the usual inequality is presented based on the monogamy weight, from which we give monogamy relations satisfied by the $α$th $(α>0)$ power of the entanglement measures. Taking concurrence as an example, we further demonstrate the significance and advantages of these relations. In addition, we show that monogamy relations can be recovered by considering multiple copies of states for every non-additive entanglement measure that violates the inequalities. We also demonstrate that the such relations for tripartite states can be generalized to multipartite systems.

A Note on Holevo quantity of $SU(2)$-invariant states

The Holevo quantity and the $SU(2)$-invariant states have particular importance in quantum information processing. We calculate analytically the Holevo quantity for bipartite systems composed of spin-$j$ and spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ subsystems with $SU(2)$ symmetry, when the projective measurements are performed on the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ subsystem. The relations among the Holevo quantity, the maximal values of the Holevo quantity and the states are analyzed in detail. In particular, we show that the Holevo quantity increases in the parameter region $F<F_d$ and decreases in region $F>F_d$ when $j$ increases, where $F$ is function of temperature in thermal equilibrium and $F_d=j/(2j+1)$, and the maximum value of the Holevo quantity is attained at $F=1$ for all $j$. Moreover, when the dimension of system increases, the maximal value of the Holevo quantity decreases.

An alternative framework for quantifying coherence of quantum channels

We present an alternative framework for quantifying the coherence of quantum channels, which contains three conditions: the faithfulness, nonincreasing under sets of all the incoherent superchannels and the additivity. Based on the characteristics of the coherence of quantum channels and the additivity of independent channels, our framework provides an easier way to certify whether a function is a bona fide coherence measure of quantum channels. Detailed example is given to illustrate the effectiveness and advantages of our framework.

Estimating Parameterized Entanglement Measure

The parameterized entanglement monotone, the $q$-concurrence, is also a reasonable parameterized entanglement measure. By exploring the properties of the $q$-concurrence with respect to the positive partial transposition and realignment of density matrices, we present tight lower bounds of the $q$-concurrence for arbitrary $q\geqslant 2$. Detailed examples are given to show that the bounds are better than the previous ones.

Informationally complete measures of quantum entanglement

Although quantum entanglement has already been verified experimentally and applied in quantum computing, quantum sensing and quantum networks, most of the existing measures cannot characterize the entanglement faithfully. In this work, by exploiting the Schmidt decomposition of a bipartite state $|ψ\rangle_{AB}$, we first establish a one-to-one correspondence relation between the characteristic polynomial of the reduced state $ρ_A$ and the polynomials its trace. Then we introduce a family of entanglement measures which are given by the complete eigenvalues of the reduced density matrices of the system. Specific measures called informationally complete entanglement measures (ICEMs) are presented to illustrate the advantages. It is demonstrated that such ICEMs can characterize finer and distinguish better the entanglement than existing well-known entanglement measures. They also give rise to criteria of state transformations under local operation and classical communication. Moreover, we show that the ICEMs can be efficiently estimated on a quantum computer. The fully separability, entanglement and genuine multipartite entanglement can detected faithfully on quantum devices.

Near-Optimal Variance-Based Uncertainty Relations

Learning physical properties of a quantum system is essential for the developments of quantum technologies. However, Heisenberg's uncertainty principle constrains the potential knowledge one can simultaneously have about a system in quantum theory. Aside from its fundamental significance, the mathematical characterization of this restriction, known as `uncertainty relation', plays important roles in a wide range of applications, stimulating the formation of tighter uncertainty relations. In this work, we investigate the fundamental limitations of variance-based uncertainty relations, and introduce several `near optimal' bounds for incompatible observables. Our results consist of two morphologically distinct phases: lower bounds that illustrate the uncertainties about measurement outcomes, and the upper bound that indicates the potential knowledge we can gain. Combining them together leads to an \emph{uncertainty interval}, which captures the essence of uncertainties in quantum theory. Finally, we have detailed how to formulate lower bounds for product-form variance-based uncertainty relations by employing entropic uncertainty relations, and hence built a link between different forms of uncertainty relations.

Nonlocality without entanglement in general multipartite quantum systems

The construction of nonlocal sets of quantum states has attracted much attention in recent years. We first introduce two Lemmas related to the triviality of orthogonality-preserving local measurements. Then we propose a general construction of nonlocal set of $n(d-1)+1$ orthogonal product states in $(\mathbb{C}^{d})^{\otimes n}$. The sets of nonlocal orthogonal product states are also put forward for the multipartite quantum systems with arbitrary dimensions. Our novel construction gives rise to nonlocal sets of orthogonal product states with much less members and thus reveals the phenomenon of nonlocality without entanglement more efficiently.

Operational Entanglement Detection Based on $Λ$-Moments

We introduce $Λ$-moments with respect to any positive map $Λ$. We show that these $Λ$-moments can effectively characterize the entanglement of unknown quantum states without theirs prior reconstructions. Based on $Λ$-moments necessary and sufficient separability criteria, as well as necessary optimized criteria are presented, which include the ones in [\href{https://link.aps.org/doi/10.1103/PhysRevLett.127.060504}{Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{127}, 060504 (2021)}] as special cases. Detailed example is given to show that our criteria can detect bound entanglement that can not be identified by positive partial transpose criterion, with the explicit measurement operators to experimentally measure the corresponding $Λ$-moments.

Optimizing incompatible triple quantum measurements

We investigate the optimal approximation to triple incompatible quantum measurements within the framework of statistical distance and joint measurability. According to the lower bound of the uncertainty inequality presented in [Physical Review A 99, 312107 (2019)], we give the analytical expressions of the optimal jointly measurable approximation to two kinds of triple incompatible unbiased qubit measurements. We also obtain the corresponding states which give the minimal approximation errors in measuring process. The results give rise to plausible experimental verifications of such statistical distance based uncertainty relations.

Probability density functions of quantum mechanical observable uncertainties

We study the uncertainties of quantum mechanical observables, quantified by the standard deviation (square root of variance) in Haar-distributed random pure states. We derive analytically the probability density functions (PDFs) of the uncertainties of arbitrary qubit observables. Based on these PDFs, the uncertainty regions of the observables are characterized by the supports of the PDFs. The state-independent uncertainty relations are then transformed into the optimization problems over uncertainty regions, which opens a new vista for studying state independent uncertainty relations. Our results may be generalized to multiple observable case in higher dimensional spaces.

Quantum algorithms for the generalized eigenvalue problem

The generalized eigenvalue (GE) problems are of particular importance in various areas of science engineering and machine learning. We present a variational quantum algorithm for finding the desired generalized eigenvalue of the GE problem, $\mathcal{A}|ψ\rangle=λ\mathcal{B}|ψ\rangle$, by choosing suitable loss functions. Our approach imposes the superposition of the trial state and the obtained eigenvectors with respect to the weighting matrix $\mathcal{B}$ on the Rayleigh-quotient. Furthermore, both the values and derivatives of the loss functions can be calculated on near-term quantum devices with shallow quantum circuit. Finally, we propose a full quantum generalized eigensolver (FQGE) to calculate the minimal generalized eigenvalue with quantum gradient descent algorithm. As a demonstration of the principle, we numerically implement our algorithms to conduct a 2-qubit simulation and successfully find the generalized eigenvalues of the matrix pencil $(\mathcal{A},\,\mathcal{B})$. The numerically experimental result indicates that FQGE is robust under Gaussian noise.

Quantum Coherence Bounds the Distributed Discords

Establishing quantum correlations between two remote parties by sending an information carrier is an essential step of many protocols in quantum information processing. We obtain trade-off relations between discords and coherence within a bipartite system. Then we study the distribution of coherence in a bipartite quantum state by using the relations of relative entropy and mutual information. We show that the increase of the relative entropy of discord between two remote parties is bounded by the nonclassical correlations quantified by the relative entropy of coherence between the carrier and two remote parties, providing an optimal protocol for discord distribution and showing that quantum correlations are the essential resource for such tasks.

Quantum gradient descent algorithms for nonequilibrium steady states and linear algebraic systems

The gradient descent approach is the key ingredient in variational quantum algorithms and machine learning tasks, which is an optimization algorithm for finding a local minimum of an objective function. The quantum versions of gradient descent have been investigated and implemented in calculating molecular ground states and optimizing polynomial functions. Based on the quantum gradient descent algorithm and Choi-Jamiolkowski isomorphism, we present approaches to simulate efficiently the nonequilibrium steady states of Markovian open quantum many-body systems. Two strategies are developed to evaluate the expectation values of physical observables on the nonequilibrium steady states. Moreover, we adapt the quantum gradient descent algorithm to solve linear algebra problems including linear systems of equations and matrix-vector multiplications, by converting these algebraic problems into the simulations of closed quantum systems with well-defined Hamiltonians. Detailed examples are given to test numerically the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms for the dissipative quantum transverse Ising models and matrix-vector multiplications.

Quantum Information Masking in Non-Hermitian Systems and Robustness

By studying quantum information masking in non-Hermitian quantum systems, we show that mutually orthogonal quantum states can be deterministically masked, while an arbitrary set of quantum states cannot be masked in non-Hermitian quantum systems. We further demonstrate that a set of linearly independent states which are mutually $η$-orthogonal can be deterministically masked by a pseudo-unitary operator. Moreover, we study robustness of quantum information masking against noisy environments. The robustness of deterministic and probabilistic quantum information masking under different quantum noise channels is analyzed in detail. Accordingly, we propose and discuss the $r$-uniform probabilistic quantum information masking in multipartite systems.

Quantum relaxed row and column iteration methods based on block-encoding

Iteration method is commonly used in solving linear systems of equations. We present quantum algorithms for the relaxed row and column iteration methods by constructing unitary matrices in the iterative processes, which generalize row and column iteration methods to solve linear systems on a quantum computer. Comparing with the conventional row and column iteration methods, the convergence accelerates when appropriate parameters are chosen. Once the quantum states are efficiently prepared, the complexity of our relaxed row and column methods is improved exponentially and is linear with the number of the iteration steps. In addition, phase estimations and Hamiltonian simulations are not required in these algorithms.

Revealing hidden standard tripartite nonlocality by local filtering

Quantum nonlocality is a kind of significant quantum correlation that is stronger than quantum entanglement and EPR steering. The standard tripartite nonlocality can be detected by the violation of the Mermin inequality. By using local filtering operations, we give a tight upper bound on the maximal expected value of the Mermin operators. By detailed examples we show that the hidden standard nonlocality can be revealed by local filtering which can enhance the robustness of the noised entangled states.

Skew information-based coherence generating power of quantum channels

We study the ability of a quantum channel to generate quantum coherence when it applies to incoherent states. We define the measure of coherence generating power (CGP) for a generic quantum channel to be the average coherence generated by the quantum channel acting on a uniform ensemble of incoherent states based on the skew information-based coherence measure. We present explicitly the analytical formulae of the CGP for any arbitrary finite dimensional unitary channels. We derive the mean value of the CGP over the unitary groups and investigate the typicality of the normalized CGP. Furthermore, we give an upper bound of the CGP for the convex combinations of unitary channels. Detailed examples are provided to calculate exactly the values of the CGP for the unitary channels related to specific quantum gates and for some qubit channels.

Standard symmetrized variance with applications to coherence, uncertainty and entanglement

Variance is a ubiquitous quantity in quantum information theory. Given a basis, we consider the averaged variances of a fixed diagonal observable in a pure state under all possible permutations on the components of the pure state and call it the symmetrized variance. Moreover we work out the analytical expression of the symmetrized variance and find that such expression is in the factorized form where two factors separately depends on the diagonal observable and quantum state. By shifting the factor corresponding to the diagonal observable, we introduce the notion named the standard symmetrized variance for the pure state which is independent of the diagonal observable. We then extend the standard symmetrized variance to mixed states in three different ways, which characterize the uncertainty, the coherence and the coherence of assistance, respectively. These quantities are evaluated analytically and the relations among them are established. In addition, we show that the standard symmetrized variance is also an entanglement measure for bipartite systems. In this way, these different quantumness of quantum states are unified by the variance.

Tighter Constraints of Multipartite Systems in terms of General Quantum Correlations

Monogamy and polygamy relations characterize the quantum correlation distributions among multipartite quantum systems. We investigate the monogamy and polygamy relations satisfied by measures of general quantum correlation. By using the Hamming weight, we derive new monogamy and polygamy inequalities satisfied by the $β$-th power and the $α$-th power of general quantum correlations, respectively. We show that these monogamy and polygamy relations are tighter than the existing ones, such as [Int. J. Theor. Phys. 60, 1455-1470 (2021)]. Taking concurrence and the Tsallis-$q$ entanglement of assistance as examples, we show the advantages of our results.

Uncertainty of quantum channels via modified generalized variance and modified generalized Wigner-Yanase-Dyson skew information

Uncertainty relation is a fundamental issue in quantum mechanics and quantum information theory. By using modified generalized variance (MGV), and modified generalized Wigner-Yanase-Dyson skew information (MGWYD), we identify the total and quantum uncertainty of quantum channels. The elegant properties of the total uncertainty of quantum channels are explored in detail. In addition, we present a trade-off relation between the total uncertainty of quantum channels and the entanglement fidelity and establish the relationships between the total uncertainty and entropy exchange/coherent information. Detailed examples are given to the explicit formulas of the total uncertainty and the quantum uncertainty of quantum channels. Moreover, utilizing a realizable experimental measurement scheme by using the Mach-Zehnder interferometer proposed in Nirala et al. Average skew information-based coherence and its typicality for random quantum states

We study the average skew information-based coherence for both random pure and mixed states. The explicit formulae of the average skew information-based coherence are derived and shown to be the functions of the dimension N of the state space. We demonstrate that as N approaches to infinity, the average coherence is 1 for random pure states, and a positive constant less than 1/2 for random mixed states. We also explore the typicality of average skew information-based coherence of random quantum states. Furthermore, we identify a coherent subspace such that the amount of the skew information-based coherence for each pure state in this subspace can be bounded from below almost always by a fixed number that is arbitrarily close to the typical value of coherence.

Estimating coherence with respect to general quantum measurements

The conventional coherence is defined with respect to a fixed orthonormal basis, i.e., to a von Neumann measurement. Recently, generalized quantum coherence with respect to general positive operator-valued measurements (POVMs) has been presented. Several well-defined coherence measures, such as the relative entropy of coherence $C_{r}$, the $l_{1}$ norm of coherence $C_{l_{1}}$ and the coherence $C_{T,α}$ based on Tsallis relative entropy with respect to general POVMs have been obtained. In this work, we investigate the properties of $C_{r}$, $l_{1}$ and $C_{T,α}$. We estimate the upper bounds of $C_{l_{1}}$; we show that the minimal error probability of the least square measurement state discrimination is given by $C_{T,1/2}$; we derive the uncertainty relations given by $C_{r}$, and calculate the average values of $C_{r}$, $C_{T,α}$ and $C_{l_{1}}$ over random pure quantum states. All these results include the corresponding results of the conventional coherence as special cases.

Robust Multipartite Entanglement Without Entanglement Breaking

Entangled systems in experiments may be lost or offline in distributed quantum information processing. This inspires a general problem to characterize quantum operations which result in breaking of entanglement or not. Our goal in this work is to solve this problem both in single entanglement and network scenarios. We firstly propose a local model for characterizing all entangled states that are breaking for losing particles. This implies a simple criterion for witnessing single entanglement such as generalized GHZ states and Dicke states. It further provides an efficient witness for entangled quantum networks depending on its connectivity such as $k$-independent quantum networks, completely connected quantum networks, and $k$-connected quantum networks. These networks are universal resources for measurement-based quantum computations. The strong nonlocality can be finally verified by using nonlinear inequalities. These results show distinctive features of both single entangled systems and entangled quantum networks.

A sufficient Entanglement Criterion Based On Quantum Fisher Information and Variance

We derive criterion in the form of inequality based on quantum Fisher information and quantum variance to detect multipartite entanglement. It can be regarded as complementary of the well-established PPT criterion in the sense that it can also detect bound entangled states. The inequality is motivated by Y.Akbari-Kourbolagh $et\ al.$[Phys. Rev A. 99, 012304 (2019)] which introduced a multipartite entanglement criterion based on quantum Fisher information. Our criterion is experimentally measurable for detecting any $N$-qudit pure state mixed with white noisy. We take several examples to illustrate that our criterion has good performance for detecting certain entangled states.

Characterizing multipartite entanglement by violation of CHSH inequalities

Entanglement of high-dimensional and multipartite quantum systems offer promising perspectives in quantum information processing. However, the characterization and measure of such kind of entanglement is of great challenge. Here we consider the overlaps between the maximal quantum mean values and the classical bound of the CHSH inequalities for pairwise-qubit states in two-dimensional subspaces. We show that the concurrence of a pure state in any high-dimensional multipartite system can be equivalently represented by these overlaps. Here we consider the projections of an arbitrary high-dimensional multipartite state to two-qubit states. We investigate the non-localities of these projected two-qubit sub-states by their violations of CHSH inequalities. From these violations, the overlaps between the maximal quantum mean values and the classical bound of the CHSH inequality, we show that the concurrence of a high-dimensional multipartite pure state can be exactly expressed by these overlaps. We further derive a lower bound of the concurrence for any quantum states, which is tight for pure states. The lower bound not only imposes restriction on the non-locality distributions among the pairwise qubit states, but also supplies a sufficient condition for distillation of bipartite entanglement. Effective criteria for detecting genuine tripartite entanglement and the lower bound of concurrence for genuine tripartite entanglement are also presented based on such non-localities.

Coherence measures with respect to general quantum measurements

Quantum coherence with respect to orthonormal bases has been studied extensively in the past few years. Recently, Bischof, et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 123, 110402 (2019)] generalized it to the case of general positive operator-valued measure (POVM) measurements. Such POVM-based coherence, including the block coherence as a special case, have significant operational interpretations in quantifying the advantage of quantum states in quantum information processing. In this work we first establish an alternative framework for quantifying the block coherence and provide several block coherence measures. We then present several coherence measures with respect to POVM measurements, and prove a conjecture on the $l_{1}$-norm related POVM coherence measure.

Discriminating bipartite mixed states by local operations

Unambiguous state discrimination of two mixed bipartite states via local operations and classical communications (LOCC) is studied and compared with the result of a scheme realized via global measurement. We show that the success probability of a global scheme for mixed-state discrimination can be achieved perfectly by the local scheme. In addition, we simulate this discrimination via a pair of pure entangled bipartite states. This simulation is perfect for local rather than global schemes due to the existence of entanglement and global coherence in the pure states. We also prove that LOCC protocol and the sequential state discrimination (SSD) can be interpreted in a unified view. We then hybridize the LOCC protocol with three protocols (SSD, reproducing and broadcasting) relying on classical communications. Such hybridizations extend the gaps between the optimal success probability of global and local schemes, which can be eliminated only for the SSD rather than the other two protocols.

Furthermore, the scheme enables us obtain lower bounds of concurrence for arbitrary four-partite quantum states by projecting high-dimensional states to arbitrary given lower dimensional substates. By detailed examples we show that our results improve the existing lower bounds of concurrence.

Quantifying Algebraic Asymmetry of Hamiltonian Systems

The symmetries play important roles in physical systems. We study the symmetries of a Hamiltonian system by investigating the asymmetry of the Hamiltonian with respect to certain algebras. We define the asymmetry of an operator with respect to an algebraic basis in terms of their commutators. Detailed analysis is given to the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{su}(2)$ and its $q$-deformation. The asymmetry of the $q$-deformed integrable spin chain models is calculated. The corresponding geometrical pictures with respect to such asymmetry is presented.

Quantifying quantum non-Markovianity based on quantum coherence via skew information

Based on the nonincreasing property of quantum coherence via skew information under incoherent completely positive and trace-preserving maps, we propose a non-Markovianity measure for open quantum processes. As applications, by applying the proposed measure to some typical noisy channels, we find that it is equivalent to the three previous measures of non-Markovianity for phase damping and amplitude damping channels, i.e., the measures based on the quantum trace distance, dynamical divisibility, and quantum mutual information. For the random unitary channel, it is equivalent to the non-Markovianity measure based on $l_1$ norm of coherence for a class of output states and it is incompletely equivalent to the measure based on dynamical divisibility. We also use the modified Tsallis relative $α$ entropy of coherence to detect the non-Markovianity of dynamics of quantum open systems, the results show that the modified Tsallis relative $α$ entropy of coherence are more comfortable than the original Tsallis relative $α$ entropy of coherence for small $α$.

Quantum Fisher information-based detection of genuine tripartite entanglement

Genuine multipartite entanglement plays important roles in quantum information processing. The detection of genuine multipartite entanglement has been long time a challenging problem in the theory of quantum entanglement. We propose a criterion for detecting genuine tripartite entanglement of arbitrary dimensional tripartite states based on quantum Fisher information. We show that this criterion is more effective for some states in detecting genuine tripartite entanglement by detailed example.

Separability criteria based on Heisenberg-Weyl representation of density matrices

Separability is an important problem in theory of quantum entanglement. By using the Bloch representation of quantum states in terms of the Heisenberg-Weyl observable basis, we present a new separability criterion for bipartite quantum systems. It is shown that this criterion can be better than the previous ones in detecting entanglement. The results are generalized to multipartite quantum states.

The $n$-th decay rate of coherence for Bell-diagonal states under quantum channels

We study the degree to which the coherence of quantum states is affected by noise. We give the definition of the $n$-th decay rate and investigate the coherence of Bell-diagonal states under $n$ iterations of channels. We derive explicit formulas of the $n$-th decay rates based on $l_1$ norm of coherence, relative entropy of coherence and skew information-based coherence. It is found that the larger $n$ is, the faster the $n$-th decay rate decreases as the parameter $p$ of Bell-diagonal states increases. Moreover, for any fixed $n$, with the increase of $p$, Bell-diagonal states can be completely incoherent under generalized amplitude damping (GAD) channels, depolarization (DEP) channels and phase flip (PF) channels, while this is not the case for bit flip (BF) channels and bit-phase flip (BPF) channels. We also investigate the geometry of the relative entropy of coherence and skew information-based coherence of Bell-diagonal states under different channels when the $n$-th decay rate is one, i.e., the coherence is frozen. It is shown that compared with BF and BPF channels, when $n$ is large enough, the coherence of Bell-diagonal states will not be frozen under GAD, DEP and PF channels. For skew information-based coherence, similar properties of coherence freezing are found.

Tighter constraints of multiqubit entanglement in terms of Rényi-$α$ entropy

Quantum entanglement plays essential roles in quantum information processing. The monogamy and polygamy relations characterize the entanglement distributions in the multipartite systems. We present a class of monogamy inequalities related to the $μ$th power of the entanglement measure based on Rényi-$α$ entropy, as well as polygamy relations in terms of the $μ$th powered of Rényi-$α$ entanglement of assistance. These monogamy and polygamy relations are shown to be tighter than the existing ones.

Time optimal control based on classification of quantum gates

We study the minimum time to implement an arbitrary two-qubit gate in two heteronuclear spins systems. We give a systematic characterization of two-qubit gates based on the invariants of local equivalence. The quantum gates are classified into four classes, and for each class the analytical formula of the minimum time to implement the quantum gates is explicitly presented. For given quantum gates, by calculating the corresponding invariants one easily obtains the classes to which the quantum gates belong. In particular, we analyze the effect of global phases on the minimum time to implement the gate. Our results present complete solutions to the optimal time problem in implementing an arbitrary two-qubit gate in two heteronuclear spins systems. Detailed examples are given to typical two-qubit gates with or without global phases.

Total variance and invariant information in complementary measurements

We investigate the total variance of a quantum state with respect to a complete set of mutually complementary measurements and its relation to the Brukner-Zeilinger invariant information. By summing the variances over any complete set of mutually unbiased measurements and general symmetric informationally complete measurements respectively, we show that the Brukner-Zeilinger invariant information associated with such types of quantum measurements is equal to the difference between the maximal variance and the total variance obtained. These results provide an operational link between the previous interpretations of the Brukner-Zeilinger invariant information.

We study the trade-off relations given by the l_1-norm coherence of general multipartite states. In particular, for pure three-qubit states, it is explicitly shown that the trade-off inequality is lower bounded by the three tangle of quantum entanglement.

Twist-teleportation based local discrimination of maximally entangled states

In this work, we study the local distinguishability of maximally entangled states (MESs). In particular, we are concerned with whether any fixed number of MESs can be locally distinguishable for sufficiently large dimensions. Fan and Tian \emph{et al.} have already obtained two satisfactory results for the generalized Bell states (GBSs) and the qudit lattice states when applied to prime or prime power dimensions. We construct a general twist-teleportation scheme for any orthonormal basis with MESs that is inspired by the method used in [Phys. Rev. A \textbf{70}, 022304 (2004)]. Using this teleportation scheme, we obtain a sufficient and necessary condition for one-way distinguishable sets of MESs, which include the GBSs and the qudit lattice states as special cases. Moreover, we present a generalized version of the results in [Phys. Rev. A \textbf{92}, 042320 (2015)] for the arbitrary dimensional case.

Incompatibility probability of random quantum measurements

Incompatibility of quantum measurements is of fundamental importance in quantum mechanics. It is closely related to many nonclassical phenomena such as Bell nonlocality, quantum uncertainty relations, and quantum steering. We study the necessary and sufficient conditions of quantum compatibility for a given collection of $n$ measurements in $d$-dimensional space. From the compatibility criterion for two-qubit measurements, we compute the incompatibility probability of a pair of independent random measurements. For a pair of unbiased random qubit measurements, we derive that the incompatibility probability is exactly $\frac35$. Detailed results are also presented in figures for pairs of general qubit measurements.

Quantum Compressed Sensing with Unsupervised Tensor-Network Machine Learning

We propose tensor-network compressed sensing (TNCS) by combining the ideas of compressed sensing, tensor network (TN), and machine learning, which permits novel and efficient quantum communications of realistic data. The strategy is to use the unsupervised TN machine learning algorithm to obtain the entangled state $|Ψ\rangle$ that describes the probability distribution of a huge amount of classical information considered to be communicated. To transfer a specific piece of information with $|Ψ\rangle$, our proposal is to encode such information in the separable state with the minimal distance to the measured state $|Φ\rangle$ that is obtained by partially measuring on $|Ψ\rangle$ in a designed way. To this end, a measuring protocol analogous to the compressed sensing with neural-network machine learning is suggested, where the measurements are designed to minimize uncertainty of information from the probability distribution given by $|Φ\rangle$. In this way, those who have $|Φ\rangle$ can reliably access the information by simply measuring on $|Φ\rangle$. We propose q-sparsity to characterize the sparsity of quantum states and the efficiency of the quantum communications by TNCS. The high q-sparsity is essentially due to the fact that the TN states describing nicely the probability distribution obey the area law of entanglement entropy. Testing on realistic datasets (hand-written digits and fashion images), TNCS is shown to possess high efficiency and accuracy, where the security of communications is guaranteed by the fundamental quantum principles.

Strong Majorization Uncertainty Relations: Theory and Experiment

In spite of enormous theoretical and experimental progresses in quantum uncertainty relations, the experimental investigation of most current, and universal formalism of uncertainty relations, namely majorization uncertainty relations (MURs), has not been implemented yet. A significant problem is that previous studies on the classification of MURs only focus on their mathematical expressions, while the physical difference between various forms remains unknown. First, we use a guessing game formalism to study the MURs, which helps us disclosing their physical nature, and distinguishing the essential differences of physical features between diverse forms of MURs. Second, we tighter the bounds of MURs in terms of flatness processes, or equivalently, in terms of majorization lattice. Third, to benchmark our theoretical results, we experimentally verify MURs in the photonic systems.

Connecting the UMEB in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{d}$ with partial Hadamard matrices

We study the unextendible maximally entangled bases (UMEB) in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{d}$ and connect it with the partial Hadamard matrix. Firstly, we show that for a given special UMEB in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{d}$, there is a partial Hadamard matrix can not extend to a complete Hadamard matrix in $\mathbb{C}^{d}$. As a corollary, any $(d-1)\times d$ partial Hadamard matrix can extend to a complete Hadamard matrix. Then we obtain that for any $d$ there is an UMEB except $d=p\ \text{or}\ 2p$, where $p\equiv 3\mod 4$ and $p$ is a prime. Finally, we argue that there exist different kinds of constructions of UMEB in $\mathbb{C}^{nd}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{nd}$ for any $n\in \mathbb{N}$ and $d=3\times5 \times7$.

Experimental test of Heisenberg's measurement uncertainty relation based on statistical distances

Incompatible observables can be approximated by compatible observables in joint measurement or measured sequentially, with constrained accuracy as implied by Heisenberg's original formulation of the uncertainty principle. Recently, Busch, Lahti, and Werner proposed inaccuracy trade-off relations based on statistical distances between probability distributions of measurement outcomes [Phys. Rev. Lett. 111, 160405 (2013); Phys. Rev. A 89, 012129 (2014)]. Here we reform their theoretical framework, derive an improved relation for qubit measurement, and perform an experimental test on a spin system. The relation reveals that the worst-case inaccuracy is tightly bounded from below by the incompatibility of target observables, and is verified by the experiment employing joint measurement in which two compatible but typically non-commutative observables on one qubit are measured simultaneously.

The necessary and sufficient conditions of RCC for the quantum operations on system B are presented for pure states. Steering Bell-diagonal states

We investigate the steerability of two-qubit Bell-diagonal states under projective measurements by the steering party. In the simplest nontrivial scenario of two projective measurements, we solve this problem completely by virtue of the connection between the steering problem and the joint-measurement problem. A necessary and sufficient criterion is derived together with a simple geometrical interpretation. Our study shows that a Bell-diagonal state is steerable by two projective measurements iff it violates the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequality, in sharp contrast with the strict hierarchy expected between steering and Bell nonlocality. We also introduce a steering measure and clarify its connections with concurrence and the volume of the steering ellipsoid. In particular, we determine the maximal concurrence and ellipsoid volume of Bell-diagonal states that are not steerable by two projective measurements. Finally, we explore the steerability of Bell-diagonal states under three projective measurements. A simple sufficient criterion is derived, which can detect the steerability of many states that are not steerable by two projective measurements. Our study offers valuable insight on steering of Bell-diagonal states as well as the connections between entanglement, steering, and Bell nonlocality.

The local indistinguishability of multipartite product states

In this paper, we mainly study the local indistinguishability of multipartite product states. Firstly, we follow the method of Z.-C. Zhang \emph{et al}[Phys. Rev. Then we use the 3 dimension cubes to present some product states which give us an intuitive view how to construct locally indistinguishable product states in tripartite quantum system. Genuine multipartite entanglement detection and lower bound of multipartite concurrence

The problems of genuine multipartite entanglement detection and classification are challenging. This result also provides a classification of various genuine multipartite entanglement. Then, we present a lower bound of the multipartite concurrence in terms of bipartite concurrences. Maximal Holevo quantity based on weak measurements

The Holevo bound is a keystone in many applications of quantum information theory. We propose "weak maximal Holevo quantity" with weak measurements as the generalization of the standard Holevo quantity which is defined as the optimal projective measurements. The scenarios that weak measurements is necessary are that only the weak measurements can be performed because for example the system is macroscopic or that one intentionally tries to do so such that the disturbance on the measured system can be controlled for example in quantum key distribution protocols. We evaluate systematically the weak maximal Holevo quantity for Bell-diagonal states and find a series of results. Furthermore, we find that weak measurements can be realized by noise and project measurements.

Nonlocality of orthogonal product basis quantum states

We study the local indistinguishability of mutually orthogonal product basis quantum states in the high-dimensional quantum system. In the quantum system of $\mathbb{C}^d\otimes\mathbb{C}^d$, where $d$ is odd, Zhang \emph{et al} have constructed $d^2$ orthogonal product basis quantum states which are locally indistinguishable in [Phys. Then we generalize our method to arbitrary bipartite quantum system $\mathbb{C}^m\otimes\mathbb{C}^n$. We present a small set with only $3(m+n)-9$ orthogonal product states and prove these states are LOCC indistinguishable. Even though these $3(m+n)-9$ product states are LOCC indistinguishable, they can be distinguished by separable measurements. Quantum deficit originates in questions regarding work extraction from quantum systems coupled to a heat bath [Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 180402 (2002)]. Trade-off Relations of Bell Violations among Pairwise Qubit Systems

A constructive distinguishing procedure to obtain the concrete local measurements and classical communications is given. The non-commutativity of ensembles can be also used to characterize the quantumness for classical-quantum or quantum-classical correlated states.

Quantum Separability Criteria for Arbitrary Dimensional Multipartite States

We present separability criteria for both bipartite and multipartite quantum states. These criteria include the criteria based on the correlation matrix and its generalized form as special cases. We show by detailed examples that our criteria are more powerful than the positive partial transposition criterion, the realignment criterion and the criteria based on the correlation matrices.

Uncertainty relations based on mutually unbiased measurements

We derive uncertainty relation inequalities according to the mutually unbiased measurements. Based on the calculation of the index of coincidence of probability distribution given by $d+1$ MUMs on any density operator $ρ$ in $\mathbb{C}^{d}$, both state-dependent and state-independent forms of lower entropic bounds are given. Furthermore, we formulate uncertainty relations for MUMs in terms of Rényi and Tsallis entropies.

A Note on Locally Unextendible Non-Maximally Entangled Basis

We study the locally unextendible non-maximally entangled basis (LUNMEB) in $H^{d}\bigotimes H^{d}$. We point out that there exists an error in the proof of the main result of LUNMEB [Quant. Inf. Comput. 12, 0271(2012)], which claims that there are at most $d$ orthogonal vectors in a LUNMEB, constructed from a given non-maximally entangled state. We show that both the proof and the main result are not correct in general. We present a counter example for $d=4$, in which five orthogonal vectors from a specific non-maximally entangled state are constructed. Besides, we completely solve the problem of LUNMEB for the case of $d=2$.

Criterion of Local Unitary Equivalence for Multipartite States

We study the local unitary equivalence of arbitrary dimensional multipartite quantum mixed states. We present a necessary and sufficient criterion of the local unitary equivalence for general multipartite states based on matrix realignment. The criterion is shown to be operational even for particularly degenerated states by detailed examples. Besides, explicit expressions of the local unitary operators are constructed for locally equivalent states. In complement to the criterion, an alternative approach based on partial transposition of matrices is also given, which makes the criterion more effective in dealing with generally degenerated mixed states.

Entanglement Detection and Distillation for Arbitrary Bipartite Systems

We present an inequality for detecting entanglement and distillability of arbitrary dimensional bipartite systems. This inequality provides a sufficient condition of entanglement for bipartite mixed states, and a necessary and sufficient condition of entanglement for bipartite pure states. Moreover, the inequality also gives a necessary and sufficient condition for distillability.

Geometry of Quantum Computation with Qutrits

Determining the quantum circuit complexity of a unitary operation is an important problem in quantum computation. By using the mathematical techniques of Riemannian geometry, we investigate the efficient quantum circuits in quantum computation with $n$ qutrits. We show that the optimal quantum circuits are essentially equivalent to the shortest path between two points in a certain curved geometry of $SU(3^n)$. As an example, three-qutrit systems are investigated in detail.

Identification of three-qubit entanglement

We present a way of identifying all kinds of entanglement for three-qubit pure states in terms of the expectation values of Pauli operators. The necessary and sufficient conditions to classify the fully separable, biseparable, and genuine entangled states are explicitly given. The approach can be generalized to multipartite high-dimensional cases. For three-qubit mixed states, we propose two kinds of inequalities in terms of the expectation values of complementary observables. One inequality has advantages in entanglement detection of the quantum state with positive partial transpositions, and the other is able to detect genuine entanglement. The results give an effective method for experimental entanglement identification.

Local unitary invariants for multipartite states

We study the invariants of arbitrary dimensional multipartite quantum states under local unitary transformations. For multipartite pure states, we give a set of invariants in terms of singular values of coefficient matrices. For multipartite mixed states, we propose a set of invariants in terms of the trace of coefficient matrices. For full ranked mixed states with nondegenerate eigenvalues, this set of invariants is also the necessary and sufficient conditions for the local unitary equivalence of such two states.

One-way deficit of SU(2) invariant states

We calculate analytically the one-way deficit for systems consisting spin-$j$ and spin-${1}{2}$ subsystems with SU(2) symmetry. Comparing our results with the quantum discord of SU(2) invariant states, we show that the one-way deficit is equal to the quantum discord for half-integer $j$, and is larger than the quantum discord for integer $j$. Moreover, we also compare the one-way deficit with entanglement of formation. The quantum entanglement tends to zero as $j$ increases, while the one-way deficit can remain significantly large.

One-way Unlocalizable Information Deficit

We introduce one-way unlocalizable information deficit with respect to the one-way information deficit, similar to the definition of one-way unlocalizable quantum discord with respect to one-way quantum discord. The properties of the one-way unlocalizable information deficit and the relations among one-way unlocalizable information deficit, one-way unlocalizable quantum discord, one-way quantum discord, one-way information deficit and other quantum correlations are investigated. Analytical formulas of the one-way unlocalizable quantum discord are given to detailed examples.

Quantum Correlations Induced by Local von Neumann Measurement

We study the total quantum correlation, semiquantum correlation and joint quantum correlation induced by local von Neumann measurement in bipartite system. We analyze the properties of these quantum correlations and obtain analytical formula for pure states. The experimental witness for these quantum correlations is further provided and the significance of these quantum correlations is discussed in the context of local distinguishability of quantum states.

Super-quantum correlation and geometry for Bell-diagonal states with weak measurements

We propose "super one-way deficit" by weak measurement as the generalization of one-way deficit defined for standard projective measurement. The super one-way deficit for Werner state is obtained analytically. We find that super one-way deficit is smaller than the standard one-way deficit, which contrasts with a straightforward expectation based on the known fact that super-quantum discord by weak measurement is always larger than the quantum discord defined by projective measurement. On the other hand, by tuning the weak measurement continuously to the projective measurement, both super one-way deficit and super-quantum discord converge to the same value, which is either the one-way deficit or the quantum discord both quantifying quantum correlation. In this sense, weak measurement does not necessarily capture more quantumness of correlations. We also give the geometry of super- quantum discord of the Bell-diagonal states with explicit geometrical figures. As an application, the dynamic behavior of super- quantum correlation including super-quantum discord and super one-way deficit under decoherence is investigated. We find that the order relation of the super-quantum correlation and the quantum correlation keep unchanged under the phase flipping channel for the Bell-diagonal states and the Werner states.

Time optimal quantum control of two-qubit systems

We study the optimal quantum control of heteronuclear two-qubit systems described by a Hamiltonian containing both nonlocal internal drift and local control terms. We derive an explicit formula to compute the minimum time required to steer the system from an initial state to a specified final state. As applications the minimal time to implement Controlled-NOT gate, SWAP gate and Controlled-U gate is calculated in detail. The experimental realizations of these quantum gates are explicitly presented.

Unextendible maximally entangled bases and mutually unbiased bases

We study unextendible maximally entangled basis in arbitrary bipartite spaces. A systematic way of constructing a set of $d^{2}$ orthonormal maximally entangled states in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{d'}(\frac{d'}{2}<d<d')$ is provided. The complementary space of the set of these $d^{2}$ orthonormal maximally entangled states contains no maximally entangled states that are orthogonal to all of them. Furthermore, we investigate mutually unbiased bases in which all the bases are unextendible maximally entangled ones. We present two unextendible maximally entangled bases in $\mathbb{C}^{2}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{3}$ which are mutually unbiased.

Assisted state discrimination without entanglement

It is shown that the dissonance, a quantum correlation which is equal to quantum discord for separable state, is required for assisted optimal state discrimination. We find that only one side discord is required in the optimal process of assisted state discrimination, while another side discord and entanglement is not necessary. We confirm that the quantum discord, which is asymmetric depending on local measurements, is a resource for assisted state discrimination. With the absence of entanglement, we give the necessary and sufficient condition for vanishing one side discord in assisted state discrimination for a class of $d$ nonorthogonal states. As a byproduct, we find that the positive-partial-transposition (PPT) condition is the necessary and sufficient condition for the separability of a class of $2\times d$ states.

Equation of motion for multiqubit entanglement in multiple independent noisy channels

We investigate the possibility and conditions to factorize the entanglement evolution of a multiqubit system passing through multi-sided noisy channels. By means of a lower bound of concurrence (LBC) as entanglement measure, we derive an explicit formula of LBC evolution of the N-qubit generalized Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GGHZ) state under some typical noisy channels, based on which two kinds of factorizing conditions for the LBC evolution are presented. In this case, the time-dependent LBC can be determined by a product of initial LBC of the system and the LBC evolution of a maximally entangled GGHZ state under the same multi-sided noisy channels. We analyze the realistic situations where these two kinds of factorizing conditions can be satisfied. In addition, we also discuss the dependence of entanglement robustness on the number of the qubits and that of the noisy channels.

Local Unitary Equivalence of Arbitrary Dimensional Bipartite Mixed Quantum States

The nonlocal properties of arbitrary dimensional bipartite quantum systems are investigated. A complete set of invariants under local unitary transformations is presented. These invariants give rise to both sufficient and necessary conditions for the equivalence of quantum states under local unitary transformations: two density matrices are locally equivalent if and only if all these invariants have equal values.

Maximally entangled state can be a mixed state

We find that the mixed maximally entangled states exist and prove that the form of the mixed maximally entangled states is unique in terms of the entanglement of formation. Moreover, even if the entanglement is quantified by other entanglement measures, this conclusion is still proven right. This result is a supplementary to the generally accepted fact that all maximally entangled states are pure. These states possess important properties of the pure maximally entangled states, for example, these states can be used as a resource for faithful teleportation and they can be distinguished perfectly by local operations and classical communication.

Universal upper bound for the Holevo information induced by a quantum operation

Let $\cH_A\ot \cH_B$ be a bipartite system and $ρ_{AB}$ a quantum state on $\cH_A\ot \cH_B$, $ρ_A = \Ptr{B}{ρ_{AB}}$, $ρ_B = \Ptr{A}{ρ_{AB}}$. Then each quantum operation $Φ_B$ on the quantum system $\cH_B$ can induce a quantum ensemble $\set{(p_μ,ρ_{A,μ})}$ on quantum system $\cH_A$. In this paper, we show that the Holevo quantity $χ\set{(p_μ,ρ_{A,μ})}$ of the quantum ensemble $\set{(p_μ,ρ_{A,μ})}$ can be upper bounded by both subsystem entropies. By using the result, we answer partly a conjecture of Fannes, de Melo, Roga and Życzkowski.

Faithful teleportation with arbitrary pure or mixed resource states

We study faithful teleportation systematically with arbitrary entangled states as resources. The necessary conditions of mixed states to complete perfect teleportation are proved. Based on these results, the necessary and sufficient conditions of faithful teleportation of an unknown state |ϕ> in C^d with an entangled resource ρ in C^m \otimes C^d and C^d \otimes C^n are derived. It is shown that for ρ in C^m\otimesC^d, ρ must be a maximally entangled state, while for ρ in C^d \otimes C^n, ρ must be a puremaximally entangled state. Moreover, we show that the sender's measurements must be all projectors of maximally entangled pure states. The relations between the entanglement of the formation of the resource states and faithful teleportation are also discussed.

Inequalities Detecting Quantum Entanglement for $2\otimes d$ Systems

We present a set of inequalities for detecting quantum entanglement of $2\otimes d$ quantum states. For $2\otimes 2$ and $2\otimes 3$ systems, the inequalities give rise to sufficient and necessary separability conditions for both pure and mixed states. For the case of $d>3$, these inequalities are necessary conditions for separability, which detect all entangled states that are not positive under partial transposition and even some entangled states with positive partial transposition. These inequalities are given by mean values of local observables and present an experimental way of detecting the quantum entanglement of $2\otimes d$ quantum states and even multi-qubit pure states.

Lower Bound of Concurrence and Distillation for Arbitrary Dimensional Bipartite Quantum States

We present a lower bound of concurrence for arbitrary dimensional bipartite quantum states. This lower bound may be used to improve all the known lower bounds of concurrence. Moreover, the lower bound gives rise to an operational sufficient criterion of distillability of quantum entanglement. The significance of our result is illustrated by quantitative evaluation of entanglement for entangled states that fail to be identified by the usual concurrence estimation method, and by showing the distillability of mixed states that can not be recognized by other distillability criteria.

Nonlocality of two-qubit and three-qubit Schmidt-Correlated states

We investigate the nonlocality of Schmidt-correlated (SC) states, and present analytical expressions of the maximum violation value of Bell inequalities. It is shown that the violation of Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequality is necessary and sufficient for the nonlocality of two-qubit SC states, whereas the violation of the Svetlichny inequality is only a sufficient condition for the genuine nonlocality of three-qubit SC states. Furthermore, the relations among the maximum violation values, concurrence and relative entropy entanglement are discussed.

Evolution equation for entanglement of assistance

We investigate the time evolution of the entanglement of assistance when one subsystem undergoes the action of local noisy channels. A general factorization law is presented for the evolution equation of entanglement of assistance. Our results demonstrate that the dynamics of the entanglement of assistance is determined by the action of a noisy channel on the pure maximally entangled state, in which the entanglement reduction turns out to be universal for all quantum states entering the channel. This single quantity will make it easy to characterize the entanglement dynamics of entanglement of assistance under unknown channels in the experimental process of producing entangled states by assisted entanglement.

Quantum Entanglement: Separability, Measure, Fidelity of Teleportation and Distillation

Quantum entanglement plays crucial roles in quantum information processing. Quantum entangled states have become the key ingredient in the rapidly expanding field of quantum information science. Although the nonclassical nature of entanglement has been recognized for many years, considerable efforts have been taken to understand and characterize its properties recently. In this review, we introduce some recent results in the theory of quantum entanglement. In particular separability criteria based on the Bloch representation, covariance matrix, normal form and entanglement witness; lower bounds, subadditivity property of concurrence and tangle; fully entangled fraction related to the optimal fidelity of quantum teleportation and entanglement distillation will be discussed in detail.

Experimental Determination of Entanglement for Arbitrary Pure States

We present a way of experimentally determining the concurrence in terms of the expectation values of local observables for arbitrary multipartite pure states. In stead of the joint measurements on two copies of a state in the experiment for two-qubit systems [S. P. Walborn et al. Off-diagonal Long-Range Order and Supersolidity in a Quantum Solid with Vacancies

We consider a lattice of bosonic atoms, whose number N may be smaller than the number of lattice sites M. We study the Hartree-Fock wave function built up from localized wave functios w(\mathbf{r}) of single atoms, with nearest neighboring overlap. The zero-momentum particle number is expressed in terms of permanents of matrices. In one dimension, it is analytically calculated to be α*N(M-N+1)/M, with α=|\int w(\mathbf{r})dΩ|^2/[(1+2a)l], where a is the nearest-neighboring overlap, l is the lattice constant. αis of the order of 1. The result indicates that the condensate fraction is proportional to and of the same order of magnitude as that of the vacancy concentration, hence there is off-diagonal long-range order or Bose-Einstein condensation of atoms when the number of vacancies M-N is a finite fraction of the number of the lattice sites M.
