Symplectic Hulls over a Non-Unital Ring

This paper presents the study of the symplectic hulls over a non-unital ring $ E= \langle κ,τ\mid 2 κ=2 τ=0,~ κ^2=κ,~ τ^2=τ,~ κτ=κ,~ τκ=τ\rangle$. We first identify the residue and torsion codes of the left, right, and two-sided symplectic hulls, and characterize the generator matrix of the two-sided symplectic hull of a free $E$-linear code. Then, we explore the symplectic hull of the sum of two free $E$-linear codes. Subsequently, we provide two build-up techniques that extend a free $E$-linear code of smaller length and symplectic hull-rank to one of larger length and symplectic hull-rank. Further, for free $E$-linear codes, we discuss the permutation equivalence and investigate the symplectic hull-variation problem. An application of this study is given by classifying the free $E$-linear optimal codes for smaller lengths.

On Maps that Preserve the Lie Products Equal to Fixed Elements

This work characterizes the general form of a bijective linear map $Ψ:\mathscr{M}_n(\mathbb{C}) \to \mathscr{M}_n(\mathbb{C})$ such that $[Ψ(A_1),~Ψ(A_2)]=D_2$ whenever $[A_1,~A_2]=D_1$ where $D_1~\text{and}~D_2$ are fixed matrices. Additionally, let $\mathscr{H}_1$ and $\mathscr{H}_2$ be the infinite-dimensional complex Hilbert spaces. We characterize the bijective linear map $Ψ: \mathscr{B}(\mathscr{H}_1) \to \mathscr{B}(\mathscr{H}_2)$ where $Ψ(A_1) \circ ~Ψ(A_2)=D_2$ whenever $A_1\circ ~A_2=D_1$ and $D_1~\text{and}~D_2$ are fixed operators.

Constacyclic codes of length $4p^s$ over the Galois ring $GR(p^a,m)$

For prime $p$, $GR(p^a,m)$ represents the Galois ring of order $p^{am}$ and characterise $p$, where $a$ is any positive integer. In this article, we study the Type (1) $λ$-constacyclic codes of length $4p^s$ over the ring $GR(p^a,m)$, where $λ=ξ_0+pξ_1+p^2z$, $ξ_0,ξ_1\in T(p,m)$ are nonzero elements and $z\in GR(p^a,m)$. In first case, when $λ$ is a square, we show that any ideal of $\mathcal{R}_p(a,m,λ)=\frac{GR(p^a,m)[x]}{\langle x^{4p^s}-λ\rangle}$ is the direct sum of the ideals of $\frac{GR(p^a,m)[x]}{\langle x^{2p^s}-δ\rangle}$ and $\frac{GR(p^a,m)[x]}{\langle x^{2p^s}+δ\rangle}$. In second, when $λ$ is not a square, we show that $\mathcal{R}_p(a,m,λ)$ is a chain ring whose ideals are $\langle (x^4-α)^i\rangle\subseteq \mathcal{R}_p(a,m,λ)$, for $0\leq i\leq ap^s$ where $α^{p^s}=ξ_0$. Also, we prove the dual of the above code is $\langle (x^4-α^{-1})^{ap^s-i}\rangle\subseteq \mathcal{R}_p(a,m,λ^{-1})$ and present the necessary and sufficient condition for these codes to be self-orthogonal and self-dual, respectively. Moreover, the Rosenbloom-Tsfasman (RT) distance, Hamming distance and weight distribution of Type (1) $λ$-constacyclic codes of length $4p^s$ are obtained when $λ$ is not a square.

Some generalized Jordan maps on triangular rings force additivity

In this paper, we show that a map $δ$ over a triangular ring $\mathcal{T}$ satisfying $δ(ab+ba)=δ(a)b+a τ(b)+δ(b)a+bτ(a)$, for all $a,b\in \mathcal{T}$ and for some maps $τ$ over $\mathcal{T}$ satisfying $τ(ab+ba)=τ(a)b+a τ(b)+τ(b)a+bτ(a)$, is additive. Also, it is shown that a map $T$ on $\mathcal{T}$ satisfying $T(ab)=T(a)b=aT(b)$, for all $a,b\in \mathcal{T}$, is additive. Further, we establish that if a map $D$ over $\mathcal{T}$ satisfies $(m+n)D(ab)=2mD(a)b+2naD(b)$, for all $a,b\in \mathcal{T}$ and integers $m,n\geq 1$, then $D$ is additive.

Parameterised Counting in Logspace

In this paper, we introduce a new framework for parameterised counting in logspace, inspired by the parameterised space bounded models developed by Elberfeld, Stockhusen and Tantau (IPEC 2013, Algorithmica 2015). They defined the operators paraW and paraBeta for parameterised space complexity classes by allowing bounded nondeterminism with multiple-read and read-once access, respectively. Using these operators, they characterised the parameterised complexity of natural problems on graphs. In the spirit of the operators paraW and paraBeta by Stockhusen and Tantau, we introduce variants based on tail-nondeterminism, paraW[1] and paraBeta-Tail. Then, we consider counting versions of all four operators applied to logspace and obtain several natural complete problems for the resulting classes: counting of paths in digraphs, counting first-order models for formulas, and counting graph homomorphisms. Furthermore, we show that the complexity of a parameterised variant of the determinant function for (0,1)-matrices is #paraBeta-Tail-L-hard and can be written as the difference of two functions in #paraBetaTail-L. For example, we show that the closure of #paraBetaTail-L under parameterised logspace parsimonious reductions coincides with #paraBeta-L, that is, modulo parameterised reductions, tail-nondeterminism with read-once access is the same as read-once nondeterminism. We show that all introduced classes are closed under addition and multiplication, and those without tail-nondeterminism are closed under parameterised logspace parsimonious reductions. Finally, we underline the significance of this topic by providing a promising outlook showing several open problems and options for further directions of research.

Armendariz ring with weakly semicommutativity

In this article, we introduce the weak ideal-Armendariz ring which combines Armendariz ring and weakly semicommutative properties of rings. In fact, it is a generalisation of an ideal-Armendariz ring. We investigate some properties of weak ideal Armendariz rings and prove that R is a weak ideal-Armendariz ring if and only if R[x] is weak ideal-Armendariz ring. Also, we generalise weak ideal-Armendariz as strongly nil-IFP and a number of properties are discussed which distinguishes it from other existing structures. We prove that if I is a semicommutative ideal of a ring R and R/I is a strongly nil-IFP, then R is strongly nil-IFP. Moreover, if R is 2-primal, then R[x]/<x^{n}> is a strongly nil-IFP.

On Almost Armendariz Rings

In this paper, we introduce the notion of almost Armendariz ring which is the generalization of Armendariz ring and discuss some of its properties. We prove that a ring R is almost Armendariz if and only if n X n upper triangular matrix ring T_{n}(R) is almost Armendariz ring. Similarly, If R is almost Armendariz if and only if R[x] is almost Armendariz. It is observed that every almost Armendariz ring is weak Armendariz but converse need not be true. But, if R is semicommutative ring, then weak Armendariz ring is almost Armendariz ring. Moreover, the class of minimal noncommutative almost Armendariz rings is completely determined, up to isomorphism (minimal means having smallest cardinality).

Ferromagnetic ordering of minority Ce$^{3+}$ spins in a quasi-skutterudite Ce${_3}$Os${_4}$Ge$_{13}$ single crystal

We report site disorder driven ferromagnetic ordering of nearly 8$\%$ Ce atoms in single crystalline Ce${_3}$Os${_4}$Ge$_{13}$ below 0.5~K. Ce${_3}$Os${_4}$Ge$_{13}$ crystallizes in a cubic structure with space group $\it{Pm\bar{3}n}$. The structural analysis shows the presence of site-disorder in the system, where 2(a) Ge site is partially occupied by the Ce atoms. Due to the small Ce $4f$-ligand hybridization, these Ce atoms are in the Ce$^{3+}$ (magnetic) state while rest of the Ce atoms in the unit cell are in Ce$^{4-δ}$ (non-magnetic) state. The heat capacity shows a peak below 0.5~K corresponding to the ferromagnetic ordering of the Ce$^{3+}$ moments. The ferromagnetic ordering below 0.5~K is also seen in the ac-susceptibility data. At low temperatures (1.8~K$\leq T\leq 6$~K), the magnetization shows $log(T)$ dependence, whereas the resistivity shows power law ($T^n$) temperature dependence indicating the non-Fermi liquid behavior of the quasiparticles.

{Multiband Superconductivity in Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$

Intermetallic R$_3$T$_4$X$_{13}$ series consists of cage like structure and have been in focus due to their unconventional electronic ground states. In this work, we report the normal and superconducting state properties of a high quality single crystal of Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$. Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$ belongs to the above mentioned series and crystallizes in a cubic crystal structure with the space group $\it{Pm\bar{3}n}$. Using electrical transport, magnetization and heat capacity measurements, we show that Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$ is a type-II multi-band superconductor ($T{_c} =3.1$~K) with unusual superconducting properties. The analysis of the low temperature heat capacity data suggests that Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$ is a moderately coupled multi-band BCS superconductor with two gaps ($2Δ/ {k{_B}T{_c}} = 3.68 \pm {0.04} ~\& ~0.34 \pm {0.02}$) in the superconducting state. The dc-magnetization ($M-H$) shows a large reversible region in the superconducting state similar to the vortex liquid phase observed in high-$T{_c}$ superconductors. The value of the Ginzburg number $G_{i}$ suggests that the thermal fluctuations, though small as compared to those in high-$T{_c}$ cuprates, may play an important role in the unpinning of the vortices in this compound. The electronic band structure calculations show that three bands cross the Fermi level and constitute a complex Fermi surface in Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$

Superconductivity in Y$_3$Ru$_4$Ge$_{13}$ and Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$: A comparative study

A variety of unconventional superconductors have low carrier density as a common factor. However, the underlying mechanism of superconductivity in such low carrier density systems is not well understood. Besides, small carrier density is an unfavourable component for conventional superconductivity as described by the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) theory. Therefore, studying low carrier density systems can lead to a better understanding in such systems. In this paper, we report superconductivity property studies in low carrier density systems, Y$_3$Ru$_4$Ge$_{13}$ and Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$, using various experimental techniques. Single crystals of Y$_3$Ru$_4$Ge$_{13}$ and Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$ have been grown using the Czochralski crystal pulling method in a tetra-arc furnace. The x-ray diffraction experiment reveals that both compounds crystallize in cubic structure {(space group $\it{Pm3n}$, no. 223)}. The transport, magnetization and heat capacity measurements show that Y$_3$Ru$_4$Ge$_{13}$ single crystal undergoes a superconducting transition at 2.85~K, whereas, Lu$_3$Os$_4$Ge$_{13}$ becomes superconductor at 3.1~K.

Superconductivity in a low carrier density system: A single crystal study of cubic Y$_3$Ru$_4$Ge$_{13}$

We have successfully grown the single crystal of a low carrier density system Y$_3$Ru$_4$Ge$_{13}$ which crystallizes in the cubic crystal structure with the space group Pm3n. Y$_3$Ru$_4$Ge$_{13}$ exhibits super conductivity below 2.85 K as determined from the electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility and heat capacity measurements. The bulk measurements indicate multiband superconductivity in this low carrier system. Hall effect measurements show that the Hall coefficient R$_H$ is positive and it decreases rapidly with temperature which is highly unusual. The simple estimation of the carrier concentration gives a value (\sim 10$^{20}$/cm$^3$) which is 2-3 orders of magnitude lower than that of a conventional metal like Cu which seems to suggest that Y$_3$Ru$_4$Ge$_{13}$ is a semimetal that display multiband superconductivity.
