Exclusive Decays of the Fully Heavy Tetraquarks into Light Mesons

In this work, we investigate the exclusive decays of the fully heavy tetraquark states $T_{4c,b}$ into light mesons, specifically $π$ and $K$, using the framework of Non-Relativistic QCD (NRQCD) and collinear QCD factorization for hard exclusive processes. We estimate the decay widths to be $10^{-9}$ GeV and $10^{-14}$ GeV for the decays $T_{4c} \to π^+π^-$ and $T_{4b} \to π^+π^-$ (and similarly for $K^+K^-$), respectively. The branching ratio for $T_{4c} \to π^+π^-(K^+K^-)$ is on the order of $10^{-8}$, making it currently unobservable in existing experiments. The factorization of $T_{4c,b}$ into light hadrons shares similarities with the decay $J/ψ\to p\bar{p}$. However, unlike the latter process, the decay $T_{4c,b} \to π^+π^-(K^+K^-)$ exhibits unique features that arise only in processes involving multiple incoming or outgoing particles. One such feature is the necessity of maintaining the $i\varepsilon$-prescription for the denominators or propagators due to the divergences in the kinematic region of interest. Employing the sector decomposition method, along with the aid of the Cheng-Wu theorem and the {\tt QHull} program, we present a systematic approach to handle the convolutions and phase-space integrations. This method can also be extended to similar processes, such as $T_{4c,b} \to p\bar{p}$, as well as to phase-space integrations where each denominator is a linear combination of integration variables.

Complete three-loop QCD corrections to leptonic width of vector quarkonium

Within the nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization framework, we compute the order-$α_s^3$ perturbative corrections to the leptonic decay of the $Υ$ and $J/ψ$ with high numerical accuracy, at the lowest order in velocity expansion. We confirm the existing three-loop results in literature. Furthermore, we explicitly consider the complex-valued light-by-light (singlet) contributions. We for the first time also consider the finite charm quark mass effect for $Υ$ leptonic decay, and obtain a new piece of 3-loop contribution to the anomalous dimension related to the composite NRQCD bilinear of vector current that arises from the nonzero charm quark mass. Based on the complete three-loop NRQCD short-distance coefficients, we also present a comprehensive phenomenological analysis for $Υ(J/ψ)$ leptonic width.

Three-loop QCD corrections to the decay constant of $B_c$

Within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization, we compute the three-loop QCD corrections to the decay constant of $B_c$. We reconstruct the analytical expressions for the three-loop renormalization constant and the corresponding anomalous dimension affiliated with the pseudoscalar current composed of two different heavy flavors in NRQCD, which are functions of the ratio between the charm and bottom quark masses. Meanwhile, the short-distance coefficient is obtained with very high numerical accuracy. The three-loop QCD correction turns out to be overwhelmingly large. The phenomenological implication of this new piece of radiative corrections for the $B_c$ leptonic decay is also addressed.

Next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to a vector bottomonium radiative decay into a charmonium

Within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization, we calculate the next-to-leading-order (NLO) perturbative corrections to the radiative decay $Υ\to η_c(χ_{cJ})+γ$. Both the helicity amplitudes and the helicity decay widths are obtained. It is the first computation for the processes involving both bottomonium and charmonium at two-loop accuracy. By employing the Cheng-Wu theorem, we are able to convert most of complex-valued master integrals (MIs) into real-valued MIs, which makes the numerical integration much efficient. Our results indicate the $\mathcal{O}(α_s)$ corrections are moderate for $η_c$ and $χ_{c2}$ production, and are quite marginal for $χ_{c0}$ and $χ_{c1}$ production. It is impressive to note the NLO corrections considerably reduce the renormalization scale dependence in both the decay widths and the branching fractions for $χ_{cJ}$, and slightly improve that for $η_c$. With the NRQCD matrix elements evaluated via the Buchmüller-Tye potential model, we find the decay width for $η_c$ production is one-order-of-magnitude larger than $χ_{cJ}$ production, which may provide a good opportunity to search for $Υ\to η_c+γ$ in experiment. In addition, the decay width for $χ_{c1}$ production is several times larger than those for $χ_{c0,2}$. Finally, we find the NLO NRQCD prediction for the branching fraction of $Υ\to χ_{c1}+γ$ is only half of the lower bound of the experimental data measured recently by {\tt Belle}. Moreover, there exists serious contradiction between theory and experiment for $Υ\to η_c+γ$. The discrepancies between theory and experiment deserve further research efforts.

Can rhythm be touched? An evaluation of rhythmic sketch performance with augmented multimodal feedback

Although it has been shown that augmented multimodal feedback has a facilitatory effect on motor performance for motor learning and music training, the functionality of haptic feedback combined with other modalities in rhythmic movement tasks has rarely been explored and analysed. In this paper, we evaluate the functionality of visual-haptic feedback in a rhythmic sketch task by comparing it with other multimodal conditions. Further, we examine the possibility of accessing the quality of task execution through kinematic analysis. Based on participants' speed profiles, we investigate the quality of motor control and movement smoothness under different feedback conditions. Results revealed better motor control ability with auditory feedback and improved movement smoothness with haptic feedback. Finally, we propose that haptic feedback can be integrated with other modal stimuli for different interaction purposes, and that kinematic analysis can be a complementary approach to gesture analysis as well as providing subjective evaluation of interaction performance.

Concurrent Crossmodal Feedback Assists Target-searching: Displaying Distance Information Through Visual, Auditory and Haptic Modalities

Humans sense of distance depends on the integration of multi sensory cues. The incoming visual luminance, auditory pitch and tactile vibration could all contribute to the ability of distance judgement. This ability can be enhanced if the multimodal cues are associated in a congruent manner, a phenomenon has been referred to as Crossmodal correspondences. In the context of multi-sensory interaction, whether and how such correspondences influence information processing with continuous motor engagement, particularly for target searching activities, has rarely been investigated. This paper presents an experimental user study to address this question. We built a target-searching application based on a Table-top, displayed the unimodal and Crossmodal distance cues concurrently responding to peoples searching movement, measured task performance through kinematic evaluation. We find that the Crossmodal display an audio display lead to improved searching efficiency and accuracy. More interestingly, this improvement is confirmed by kinematic analysis, which also unveiled the underlying movement features that could account for this improvement. We discussed how these findings could shed lights on the design of assistive technology and of other multi sensory interaction.

Exploring crossmodal perceptual enhancement and integration in a sequence-reproducing task with cognitive priming

Leveraging the perceptual phenomenon of crossmoal correspondence has been shown to facilitate peoples information processing and improves sensorimotor performance. However for goal-oriented interactive tasks, the question of how to enhance the perception of specific Crossmodal information, and how Crossmodal information integration takes place during interaction is still unclear. The present paper reports two experiments investigating these questions. In the first experiment, a cognitive priming technique was introduced as a way to enhance the perception of two Crossmodal stimuli, in two conditions respectively, and their effect on sensory-motor performance was observed. Based on the results, the second experiment combined the two Crossmodal stimuli in the same interfaces in a way that their correspondence congruency was mutually exclusive. The same priming techniques was applied as a manipulating factor to observe the Crossmodal integration process. Results showed that first, the Crossmodal integration during interaction can be enhanced by the priming technique, but the effect varies according to the combination of Crossmodal stimuli and the types of priming material. Moreover, peoples subjective evaluations towards priming types were in contradiction with their objective behavioural data. Second, when two Crossmodal sequences can be perceived simultaneously, results suggested different perceptual weights are possessed by different participants, and the perceptual enhancement effect was observed only on the dominant one, the pitch-elevation. Furthermore, the Crossmodal integration tended to be integrated in a selective manner without priming. These results contribute design implications for multisensory feedback and mindless computing.

Fragmentation production of fully-charmed tetraquarks at LHC

The $X(6900)$ resonance, very recently discovered in the double-$J/ψ$ channel at LHCb experiment, has spurred intensive interest in unravelling the nature of the fully charmed tetraquark state. The aim of this paper is to present a model-independent theoretical framework to study the inclusive production of this novel species of exotic hadrons, the resonances composed of four heavy quark (commonly referred to as $T_{4c}$), at large $p_T$ in hadron collision experiments. Appealing to asymptotic freedom and the fact $m_c\gg Λ_{\rm QCD}$, we propose that the nonpertubative yet universal gluon-to-$T_{4c}$ fragmentation function, can be decomposed into the product of the perturbatively calculable short-distance coefficient and the long-distance NRQCD matrix elements. We compute the short-distance coefficient at lowest-order in $α_s$ and velocity expansion. Adopting the diquark ansatz to roughly estimate those not-yet-known NRQCD matrix elements, together with the standard QCD factorization theorem, we predict the differential production rates for the $T_{4c/4b}(0^{++})$ and $T_{4c/4b}(2^{++})$ at large $p_T$ in $pp$ collision, which eagerly awaits the confrontation with the future LHC experiments.

Multiplexing-oriented plasmon-MoS2 hybrid metasurfaces driven by nonlinear quasi bound states in the continuum

Rapid progress in nonlinear plasmonic metasurfaces enabled many novel optical characteristics for metasurfaces, with potential applications in frequency metrology, timing characterization and quantum information. However, the spectrum of nonlinear optical response was typically based upon the linear optical resonance. In this work, a wavelength-multiplexed nonlinear plasmon-MoS2 hybrid metasurface with suppression phenomenon was proposed, where multiple nonlinear signals could to be simultaneously processed and optionally tuned. A clear physical picture to depict the nonlinear plasmonic bound states in the continuum (BICs) was presented, from the perspective of both classical and quantum approaches. Particularly, beyond the ordinary plasmon-polariton effect, we numerically demonstrated a giant BIC-inspired second-order nonlinear susceptibility $10^{-5}$~$m/V$ of MoS2 in the infrared band. The novelty in our study lies in the presence of a quantum oscillator that can be adopted to both suppress and enhance the nonlinear quasi BICs. This selectable nonlinear BIC-based suppression and enhancement effect can optionally block undesired modes, resulting in narrower linewidth as well as smaller quantum decay rates, which is also promising in slow-light-associated technologies.

Fragmentation function of gluon into spin-singlet $P$-wave quarkonium

Following the operator definition of the fragmentation function developed by Collins and Soper, we compute the gluon-to-$h_c$ fragmentation function at the lowest order in the velocity expansion in NRQCD factorization approach. Utilizing some modern technique developed in the area of multi-loop calculation, we are able to analytically deduce the infrared-finite color-singlet short-distance coefficient associated with the fragmentation function. The fragmentation probability for gluon into $h_c$ is estimated to be order $10^{-6}$.

Critical Current Survival in YBCO Superconducting Layer of the Delaminated Coated Conductor

High temperature superconducting coated conductor (CC) could be practically applied in electric equipment due to its favorable mechanical properties and the critical current performance of YBCO superconducting layer. It is well known that CC could be easily delaminated because of its poor stress tolerance in thickness direction, i.e. along the c-axis of YBCO. Commonly, a stack including YBCO layer and silver stabilizer could be obtained after the delamination. It would be interesting to investigate the superconducting properties of the delaminated stack, since it could also be considered as a new type of CC with the silver stabilizer as the buffer layer, which is quite different from the oxide buffer layers in the traditional CC and might lead to new applications. In this study, a CC sample was delaminated by liquid nitrogen immersing. A Hall probe scanning system was employed to measure the critical current (IC) distribution of the original sample and the obtained stack. It was found that IC could be partially preserved after the delamination. Dense and crack-free morphologies of the delaminated surfaces were observed by scanning electron microscopy, and the potential application of the obtained stack in superconducting joint technology was discussed.

Can NRQCD explain the $γγ^* \to η_c$ transition form factor data?

Unlike the bewildering situation in the $γγ^*\to π$ form factor, a widespread view is that perturbative QCD can decently account for the recent \textsc{BaBar} measurement of $γγ^*\to η_c$ transition form factor. The next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) perturbative correction to the $γγ^*\to η_{c,b}$ form factor, is investigated in the NRQCD factorization framework for the first time. As a byproduct, we obtain by far the most precise order-$α_s^2$ NRQCD matching coefficient for the $η_{c,b}\to γγ$ process. After including the substantial negative order-$α_s^2$ correction, the good agreement between NRQCD prediction and the measured $γγ^*\to η_c$ form factor is completely ruined over a wide range of momentum transfer squared. This eminent discrepancy casts some doubts on the applicability of NRQCD approach to hard exclusive reactions involving charmonium.

Next-to-next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to $χ_{c0,2}\rightarrow γγ$

We calculate the next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) perturbative corrections to $P$-wave quarkonia annihilation decay to two photons, in the framework of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization. The order-$α_s^2$ short-distance coefficients associated with each helicity amplitude are presented in a semi-analytic form, including the "light-by-light" contributions. With substantial NNLO corrections, we find disquieting discrepancy when confronting our state-of-the-art predictions with the latest \textsf{BESIII} measurements, especially fail to account for the measured $χ_{c2}\toγγ$ width. Incorporating the effects of spin-dependent forces would even exacerbate the situation, since it lifts the degeneracy between the nonperturbative NRQCD matrix elements of $χ_{c0}$ and $χ_{c2}$ toward the wrong direction. We also present the order-$α_s^2$ predictions to $χ_{b0,2}\toγγ$, which await the future experimental test.

Relativistic corrections to $Υ$ exclusive decay into double $S-$wave charmonia

Within the framework of nonrelativisitic QCD factorization formalism, we present the next-to-leading-order relativistic corrections to $Υ$ exclusive decay into $η_c$ plus $J/ψ$. The double charmonia can be produced through several immediate channels, i.e. $Υ\to g^*g^*g^*\to η_c+J/ψ$, $Υ\to g^*g^*γ^*\to η_c+J/ψ$, and $Υ\to γ^*\to η_c+J/ψ$. The amplitudes of these three channels are obtained accurate up to ${\cal O}(α_s^3 v^2)$, ${\cal O}(αα_s^2 v^2)$, and ${\cal O}(αα_s^2 v^2)$ respectively, where $v$ indicates the typical heavy quark velocity in bottomonium and/or charmonium rest frame. The decay rates are also presented. We find the next-to-leading-order relativistic corrections to the short distance coefficients as well as the decay rates are both significant and negative, especially for the corrections from bottomonium. More seriously, the decay rates are even brought into negative by including the relativistic corrections, which indicates the poor convergence for the velocity expansion in this kind of processes. Detailed analysis is given in the paper.

Short-range force between two Higgs bosons

The $S$-wave scattering length and the effective range of the Higgs boson in Standard Model are studied using effective-field-theory approach. After incorporating the first-order electroweak correction, the short-range force between two Higgs bosons remains weakly attractive for $M_H=126$ GeV. It is interesting to find that the force range is about two order-of-magnitude larger than the Compton wavelength of the Higgs boson, almost comparable with the typical length scale of the strong interaction.

$O(α_s)$ corrections to $J/ψ+χ_{cJ}$ production at $B$ factories

We investigate the ${\cal O}(α_s)$ corrections to $e^+e^-\to J/ψ(ψ')+χ_{cJ}$ ($J=0,1,2$) in the NRQCD factorization approach. These next-to-leading order (NLO) corrections are calculated at the level of helicity amplitude. We have made a detailed analysis for both polarized and unpolarized cross sections, and compared our predictions with the measurements at the $B$ factories. We also derive the asymptotic expressions for each of the NLO helicity amplitudes, and confirm the earlier speculation that at NLO in $α_s$, the double logarithm of type $\ln^2 (s/m_c^2)$ appearing in the NRQCD short-distance coefficient is always associated with the helicity-suppressed channels.

A Low-Fluorine Solution with the F/Ba Mole Ratio of 2 for the Fabrication of YBCO Films

In the reported low-fluorine MOD-YBCO studies, the lowest F/Ba mole ratio of the precursor solution was 4.5. However, further lowering the F/Ba ratio is important according to the researches of YBCO thick film. On the other hand, the F/Ba ratio is necessary to be at least 2 for the full conversion of the Ba precursor to BaF_2 to avoid the formation of BaCO_3, which is detrimental to the superconducting performance. In this study, a novel solution with the F/Ba mole ratio of 2 was developed, in which the fluorine content was only about 10.3% of that used in the conventional TFA-MOD method. Attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transformed-infrared spectra(ATR-FT-IR) revealed that BaCO_3 was remarkably suppressed in the as-pyrolyzed film and eliminated at 700 Celsius degree. Thus YBCO films with a critical current density (J_c) over 5 MA cm^{-2} (77 K, 0 T, 200 nm thickness) could be obtained on LAO single crystal substrates. In-situ FT-IR spectra showed that no obvious fluorinated gaseous by-products were detected in the pyrolysis step, which indicated that all of the F atoms might remain in the film as fluorides. X-ray diffraction (XRD) θ/2θ-scan showed that BaF_2, but neither YF_3 nor CuF_2, was detected in the films quenched at 400 - 800 Celsius degree. The formation priority of BaF_2 over YF_3 and CuF_2 was interpreted by the chemical equilibrium of the potential reactions. Our study could enlarge the synthesis window of the precursor solution for MOD-YBCO fabrication and open a gate to study the fluorine content in the precursor solution continuously and systematically.

Automated One-loop Computation in Quarkonium Process within NRQCD Framework

In last decades, it has been realized that the next-to-leading order corrections may become very important, and sometimes requisite, for some processes involving quarkoinum production or decay, e.g., $e^+e^- \to J/ψ+ η_c$ and $J/ψ\to 3γ$. In this article, we review some basic steps to perform automated one-loop computations in quarkonium process within the Non-relativistic Quantum Chromodynamics (NRQCD) factorization framework, and we give an introduction to some related public tools or packages and their usages in each step. We start from generating Feynman diagrams and amplitudes with \textsc{FeynArts} for the quarkonium process, performing Dirac- and Color- algebras simplifications using \textsc{FeynCalc} and \textsc{FeynCalcFormLink}, and then to doing partial fractions on the linear-dependent propagators by \textsc{APart}, and finally to reducing the Tensor Integrals (TI) into Scalar Integrals (SI) or Master Integrals (MI) using Integration-By-Parts (IBP) method with the help of \textsc{Fire}. We will use a simple concrete example to demonstrate the basic usages of the corresponding packages or tools in each step.

Lepton number violation in D meson decay

The lepton number violating process can be induced by introducing a fourth generation heavy Majorana neutrino, which is coupled to the charged leptons of Standard Model. There have been many previous studies on the leptonic number violating decay processes with this mechanism, we follow the trend to study the process: $D \to K \ell \ell π$ with the same-sign dilepton final states. We restrict ourself to certain neutrino mass regions, in which the heavy neutrino could be on shell and the dominant contribution to the branching fraction comes from the resonance enhanced effect. Applying the Narrow Width Approximation, we found that upper limit for the branching fractions for $D^0 \to K^-\ell^+\ell^+π^-$ are generally at the order of $10^{-10}$ to $10^{-9}$, if we take the most stringent upper limit bound currently available in the literature for the mixing matrix elements. We also provide the constrains, which is competitive compared to the LNV B decays, on the mixing matrix element $|V_{eN}|^2$ based on the upper limit of $D^0 \to K^- e^+ e^+ π^-$ estimated from Monte-Carlo study at BESIII.

Reconciling the nonrelativistic QCD prediction and the $J/ψ\to 3γ$ data

It has been a long-standing problem that the rare electromagnetic decay process $J/ψ\to 3γ$ is plagued with both large and negative radiative and relativistic corrections. To date it remains futile to make a definite prediction to confront with the branching fraction of $J/ψ\to 3γ$ recently measured by the \textsf{CLEO-c} and \textsf{BESIII} Collaborations. In this work, we investigate the joint perturbative and relativistic correction (i.e. the ${\mathcal O}(α_s v^2)$ correction, where $v$ denotes the characteristic velocity of the charm quark inside the $J/ψ$) for this decay process, which turns out to be very significant. After incorporating the contribution from this new ingredient, with the reasonable choice of the input parameters, we are able to account for the measured decay rates in a satisfactory degree.

Some recent progress in understanding exclusive double charmonium production at $B$ factories

We review some recent progress in understanding various exclusive double charmonium production processes at $B$ factories, within the nonrelativistic QCD factorization framework. First we investigate the impact of the joint perturbative and relativistic correction on the process that has attracted a great amount of attention in the past decade, $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$. We then briefly discuss the phenomenological implication of the next-to-leading order perturbative correction to the processes $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+χ_{c0,1,2} (η_{c2})$. We further emphasize a novel theoretical challenge, which is recently discovered by applying the NRQCD factorization approach to the helicity-suppressed hard exclusive reactions involving heavy quarkonium.

$Apart: A Generalized Mathematica Apart Function

We have generalized the \textsc{Mathematica} function \texttt{Apart} from 1 to $N$ dimension, the generalized function \texttt{\$Apart} can decompose any linear dependent elements in $\mathcal{V}_{x}^*$ to irreducible ones. The elements in $\mathcal{V}_{x}^*$ can be viewed as the corresponding propagators which involve loop momenta, and the decomposition will be useful when one tries to perform the loop calculations using the packages such as \textsc{Fire} and \textsc{Reduze}, which have implemented the integration by parts (IBP) identities and Lorentz invariance (LI) identities. A description on how to use this package, combined with \textsc{Fire}, \textsc{FeynArts} and \textsc{FeynCalc} packages, to do the one-loop calculations in double quarkonium production in $e^+e^-$ colliders is given, and the full source code for a specific process $(e^+e^-\to J/ψ+ η_c)$ is also available.

$O(α_s v^2)$ correction to $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$ at $B$ factories

We investigate the ${\mathcal O}(α_s v^2)$ correction to the $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$ process in the nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization approach. Within some reasonable choices of the relative order-$v^2$ NRQCD matrix elements, we find that including this new ingredient of correction only mildly enhances the existing NRQCD predictions. We have also deduced the asymptotic expressions for the ${\mathcal O}(α_s v^2)$ short-distance coefficients, and reconfirm the early speculation that at next-to-leading order in $α_s$, the double logarithm of type $\ln^2 (s/m_c^2)$ appearing in various NRQCD short-distance coefficients is always associated with the helicity-suppressed channels.

FormLink/FeynCalcFormLink : Embedding FORM in Mathematica and FeynCalc

FORM, a symbolic manipulation system, has been widely used in a lot of calculations for High Energy Physics due to its high performance and fficient design. Mathematica, another computational software program, has also widely been used, but more for reasons of generality and user-friendliness than for speed. Especially calculations involving tensors and noncommutative operations like calculating Dirac traces can be rather slow in Mathematica, compared to FORM. In this article we describe FormLink and FeynCalcFormLink, two Mathematica packages to link Mathematica and FeynCalc with FORM. FormLink can be used without FeynCalc and FeynCalcFormLink, which is an extension loading FormLink and FeynCalc automatically. With these two packages the impressive speed and other special features of FORM get embedded into the generality of Mathematica and FeynCalc in a simple manner. FeynCalcFormLink provides a FORM-based turbo for FeynCalc, making it much more efficient. FormLink turns Mathematica into an editor and code organizer for FORM.

Exclusive decay of P-wave Bottomonium into double J/ψ

We calculate the order-v^2 relativistic correction of J/ψ, including electromagnetic correction, to χ_{bJ}-> J/ψJ/ψ, in the framework of NRQCD factorization formula. The relativistic order-v^2 effect is found to increase the lower-order prediction for the decay width by about 10%, while the electromagnetism contribution is very small about 0.2% for χ_{b0} and χ_{b2}. The total branching ratios are predicted to be of order 10^{-5} for χ_{b0,b2}-> J/ψJ/ψ, but 10^{-11} for χ_{b1}-> J/ψJ/ψ, since there is only electromagnetism contribution in this channel. We predict it is possible to observe these reactions in LHC. Finally, we estimate the decay width and branch ratio of χ_{cJ}-> ωω,ϕϕ) in the constituent quark model by our formula at the leading-order of relativistic correction and electromagnetic correction. The obtained branch ratio of χ_{c0,2}-> ϕϕis in agreement with the experimental measurement in the order of magnitude.
