On the molecular nature of the $Ω_c(3120)$ and its analogy with the $Ω(2012)$

We make a study of the $Ω_c(3120)$, one of the five $Ω_c$ states observed by the LHCb collaboration, which is well reproduced as a molecular state from the $Ξ^*_c \bar K$ and $Ω^*_c η$ channels mostly. The state with $J^P = 3/2^-$ decays to $Ξ_c \bar K$ in $D$-wave and we include this decay channel in our approach, as well as the effect of the $Ξ^*_c$ width. With all these ingredients, we determine the fraction of the $Ω_c(3120)$ width that goes into $Ξ_c π\bar K$, which could be a measure of the $Ξ^*_c \bar K$ molecular component, but due to a relatively big binding, compared to its analogous $Ω(2012)$ state, we find only a small fraction of about 3%, which makes this measurement difficult with present statistics. As an alternative, we evaluate the scattering length and effective range of the $Ξ^*_c \bar K$ and $Ω^*_c η$ channels which together with the binding and width of the $Ω_c(3120)$ state, could give us an answer to the issue of the compositeness of this state when these magnitudes are determined experimentally, something feasible nowadays, for instance, measuring correlation functions.

$Z_{cs}$ states from the $D^{*}_s \bar D^*$ and $J/ψK^*$ coupled channels: Signal in $B^+ \to J/ψϕK^+$ decay

We study the $D^{*}_s \bar D^*$ system in connection with the $J/ψK^*$ in coupled channels and observe that, within reasonable values of the cut-off used to regularize the loops, the system does not develop a bound state. However, the $J^P = 2^+$ channel has enough attraction to create a strong cusp structure that shows up in the $J/ψK^+$ invariant mass distribution in the $B^+ \to J/ψϕK^+$ decay at the $D^*_s \bar D^*$ threshold. Such structure is visible in the experimental $B^+ \to J/ψϕK^+$ and $\bar B^0 \to J/ψK^+ K^-$ decays, with small statistics, and our results should stimulate further measurements around this region, given the fact that cusp effects provide as valuable information on hadron dynamics as resonances themselves.

Interpretation of the $Ω_c \to π^+ Ω(2012) \to π^+(\bar{K} Ξ)$ relative to $Ω_c \to π^+\bar{K} Ξ$ from the $Ω(2012)$ molecular perspective

We present a mechanism for $Ω_c \to π^+ Ω(2012)$ production through an external emission Cabibbo favored weak decay mode, where the $Ω(2012)$ is dynamically generated from the interaction of $\bar{K}Ξ^*(1530)$, $ηΩ$, with $\bar{K}Ξ$ as the main decay channel. The $Ω(2012)$ decays later to $\bar{K}Ξ$ in this picture, with results compatible with Belle data. The picture has as a consequence that one can evaluate the direct decay $Ω_c^0 \to π^+K^- Ξ^0$ and the decay $Ω_c^0 \to π^+\bar{K} Ξ^*$, $π^+ηΩ$ with direct coupling of $\bar{K}Ξ^*$ and $ηΩ$ to $K^- Ξ^0$. We show that, within uncertainties and using data from a recent Belle measurement, all these three channels account for about (12-20)\% of the total $Ω_c \to π^+K^- Ξ^0$ decay rate. The consistency of the molecular picture with all the data is established by showing that $Ω_c \to Ξ^0 \bar{K}^{*0} \to Ξ^0K^- π^+$ together with $Ω_c \to π^+ Ω^* \to π^+K^- Ξ^0 $ account for about 85\% of the total $Ω_c \to π^+K^- Ξ^0 $.

Analysis of the $ \boldsymbol{e^+ e^- \to J/ψD\bar D}$ reaction close to the threshold concerning claims of a $χ_{c0}(2P)$ state

We analyze the $D\bar{D}$ mass distribution from a recent Belle experiment on the $e^+e^- \to J/ψD\bar{D}$ reaction, and show that the mass distribution divided by phase space does not have a clear peak above the $D\bar{D}$ threshold that justifies the experimental claim of a $χ_{c0}(2P)$ state from those data. Then we use a unitary formalism with coupled channels $D^+D^-$, $D^0\bar{D}^0$, $D_s\bar{D}_s$, and $ηη$, with some of the interactions taken from a theoretical model, and use the data to fix other parameters. We then show that, given the poor quality of the data, we can get different fits leading to very different $D\bar{D}$ amplitudes, some of them supporting a $D\bar{D}$ bound state and others not. The main conclusion is that the claim for the $χ_{c0}(2P)$ state, already included in the PDG, is premature, but refined data can provide very valuable information on the $D\bar{D}$ scattering amplitude. As side effects, we warn about the use of a Breit-Wigner amplitude parameterization close to threshold, and show that the $D_s\bar{D}_s$ channel plays an important role in this reaction.

Strange Hadron Spectroscopy with Secondary KL Beam in Hall D

We propose to create a secondary beam of neutral kaons in Hall D at Jefferson Lab to be used with the GlueX experimental setup for strange hadron spectroscopy. The superior CEBAF electron beam will enable a flux on the order of $1\times 10^4~K_L/sec$, which exceeds the flux of that previously attained at SLAC by three orders of magnitude. The use of a deuteron target will provide first measurements ever with neutral kaons on neutrons. The experiment will measure both differential cross sections and self-analyzed polarizations of the produced $Λ$, $Σ$, $Ξ$, and $Ω$ hyperons using the GlueX detector at the Jefferson Lab Hall D. The measurements will span CM $\cosθ$ from $-0.95$ to 0.95 in the range W = 1490 MeV to 2500 MeV. The new data will significantly constrain the partial wave analyses and reduce model-dependent uncertainties in the extraction of the properties and pole positions of the strange hyperon resonances, and establish the orbitally excited multiplets in the spectra of the $Ξ$ and $Ω$ hyperons. Comparison with the corresponding multiplets in the spectra of the charm and bottom hyperons will provide insight into he accuracy of QCD-based calculations over a large range of masses. The proposed facility will have a defining impact in the strange meson sector through measurements of the final state $Kπ$ system up to 2 GeV invariant mass. This will allow the determination of pole positions and widths of all relevant $K^\ast(Kπ)$ $S$-,$P$-,$D$-,$F$-, and $G$-wave resonances, settle the question of the existence or nonexistence of scalar meson $κ/K_0^\ast(700)$ and improve the constrains on their pole parameters. Subsequently improving our knowledge of the low-lying scalar nonet in general.

The $Z_{cs}(3985)$ as a threshold effect from the $\bar D_s^* D + \bar D_s D^*$ interaction

We study the $e^+ e^- \to K^+ ( D_s^{*-} D^0 + D_s^- D^{*0})$ reaction recently measured at BESIII, from where a new $Z_{cs}$ state has been reported. We study the interaction of $\bar D_s D^*$ with the coupled channels $J/ψK^-$, $K^{*-} η_c$, $D_s^- D^{*0}$, $D_s^{*-} D^0$ by means of an extension to the charm sector of the local hidden gauge approach. We find that the $D_s^- D^{*0}+ D_s^{*-} D^0$ combination couples to $J/ψK^-$ and $K^{*-} η_c$, but the $D_s^- D^{*0}- D_s^{*-} D^0$ combination does not. The coupled channels help to build up strength in the $D_s^- D^{*0}+ D_s^{*-} D^0$ diagonal scattering matrix close to threshold and, although the interaction is not strong enough to produce a bound state or resonance, it is sufficient to produce a large accumulation of strength at the $\bar D_s D^*$ threshold in the $e^+ e^- \to K^+ ( D_s^{*-} D^0 + D_s^- D^{*0})$ reaction in agreement with experiment.

$Υ(nl)$ decay into $ B^{(*)} \bar B^{(*)}$

We have evaluated the decay modes of the $Υ(4s), Υ(3d), Υ(5s), Υ(6s)$ states into $B\bar B, B\bar B^*+c.c., B^* \bar B^*, B_s \bar B_s, B_s \bar B^*_s +c.c., B^*_s \bar B_s^* $ using the $^3P_0$ model to hadronize the $b\bar b$ vector seed, fitting some parameters to the data. We observe that the $Υ(4s)$ state has an abnormally large amount of meson-meson components in the wave function, while the other states are largely $b\bar b$. We predict branching ratios for the different decay channels which can be contrasted with experiment for the case of the $Υ(5s)$ state. While globally the agreement is fair, we call the attention to some disagreement that could be a warning for the existence of more elaborate components in the state.

Molecular picture for the $Ω(2012)$ revisited

We conduct a study of the interaction of the $\bar K Ξ^*$, $ηΩ$($s$-wave) and $\bar K Ξ$($d$-wave) channels within a coupled channel unitary approach where the transition potential between the $\bar K Ξ^*$ and $ηΩ$ channels is obtained from chiral Lagrangians. The transition potential between $\bar K Ξ^*$, $ηΩ$ and $\bar K Ξ$ is taken in terms of free parameters, which together with a cut off to regularize the meson-baryon loops are fitted to the $Ω(2012)$ data. We find that all data including the recent Belle experiment on $Γ_{Ω^* \to π\bar K Ξ}/ Γ_{Ω^* \to \bar K Ξ}$, are compatible with the molecular picture stemming from meson baryon interaction of these channels.

Searching for a $D \bar D$ bound state with the $ψ(3770) \to γD^0 \bar D^0$ decay

We perform a calculation of the mass distribution in the $ψ(3770) \to γD \bar D$ decay, studying both the $D^+ D^- $ and $D^0 \bar D^0 $ decays. The electromagnetic interaction is such that the tree level amplitude is null for the neutral channel, which leaves the $ψ(3770) \to γD^0 \bar D^0$ proceeding through a loop involving the $D^+ D^- \to D^0 \bar D^0$ scattering amplitude. We use the results for this amplitude of a theoretical model that predicts a $D \bar D$ bound state and find a $D^0 \bar D^0 $ mass distribution in the decay drastically different than phase space. The rates obtained are relatively large and the experiment is easily feasible in the present BESIII facility. The performance of this experiment could provide an answer to the issue of this much searched for state, which is the analogue of the $f_0(980)$ resonance.

Signatures of the two $K_1(1270)$ poles in $D^+\to νe^+ V P$ decay

We analyze theoretically the $D^+\to νe^+ ρ\bar K$ and $D^+\to νe^+ \bar K^* π$ decays to see the feasibility to check the double pole nature of the axial-vector resonance $K_1(1270)$ predicted by the unitary extensions of chiral perturbation theory (UChPT). Indeed, within UChPT the $K_1(1270)$ is dynamically generated from the interaction of a vector and a pseudoscalar meson, and two poles are obtained for the quantum numbers of this resonance. The lower mass pole couples dominantly to $K^*π$ and the higher mass pole to $ρK$, therefore we can expect that different reactions weighing differently these channels in the production mechanisms enhance one or the other pole. We show that the different final $VP$ channels in $D^+\to νe^+ V P$ weigh differently both poles, and this is reflected in the shape of the final vector-pseudoscalar invariant mass distributions. Therefore, we conclude that these decays are suitable to distinguish experimentally the predicted double pole of the $K_1(1270)$ resonance.

Theoretical interpretation of the $D^+_s \to π^+ π^0 η$ decay and the nature of $a_0(980)$

In a recent paper \cite{Ablikim:2019pit}, the BESIII collaboration reported the so-called first observation of pure $W$-annihilation decays $D^+_s \to a^+_0(980) π^0$ and $D_s^+ \to a^0_0(980)π^+$. The measured absolute branching fractions are, however, puzzlingly larger than those of other measured pure $W$-annihilation decays by at least one order of magnitude. In addition, the relative phase between the two decay modes is found to be about 180 degrees. In this letter, we show that all these can be easily understood if the $a_0(980)$ is a dynamically generated state from $\bar{K} K$ and $πη$ interactions in coupled channels. In such a scenario, the $D^+_s$ decay proceeds via internal $W$ emission instead of $W$-annihilation, which has a larger decay rate than $W$-annihilation. The proposed decay mechanism and the molecular nature of the $a_0(980)$ also provide a natural explanation to the measured negative interference between the two decay modes.

Triangle singularity in $B^-\to K^-X(3872);X\to π^0π^+π^-$ and the X(3872) mass

We evaluate the contribution to the $X(3872)$ width from a triangle mechanism in which the $X$ decays into $D^{*0}\bar{D}^0 -cc$, then the $D^{*0} (\bar{D}^{*0})$ decays into $D^0 π^0$ ($\bar{D}^0 π^0$) and the $D^0 \bar{D}^0$ fuse to produce $π^+ π^-$. This mechanism produces an asymmetric peak from a triangle singularity in the $π^+ π^-$ invariant mass with a shape very sensitive to the $X$ mass. We evaluate the branching ratios for a reaction where this effect can be seen in the $B^- \to K^- π^0 π^+ π^-$ reaction and show that the determination of the peak in the invariant mass distribution of $π^+ π^-$ is all that is needed to determine the $X$ mass. Given the present uncertainties in the $X$ mass, which do not allow to know whether the $D^{*0} \bar{D}^0$ state is bound or not, measurements like the one suggested here should be most welcome to clarify this issue.

Triangle singularity in the $B^-\to K^-π^0X(3872)$ reaction and sensitivity to the $X(3872)$ mass

We have done a study of the $B^- \to K^- π^0 X(3872)$ reaction by means of a triangle mechanism via the chain of reactions: $B^- \to K^- D^{*0}\bar D^{*0}$; $D^{*0} \to π^0 D^0$; $D^0\bar D^{*0}\to X(3872)$. We show that this mechanism generates a triangle singularity in the $π^0 X(3872)$ invariant mass for a very narrow window of the $X(3872)$ mass, around the present measured values, and show that the peak positions and the shape of the mass distributions are sensitive to the $X(3872)$ mass, such that a measurement of the reaction can serve to improve on the present values of this mass. In particular, we point out that the $X(3872)$ mass relative to the $D^0\bar D^{*0}$ threshold may be extracted from the asymmetry of the $π^0X$ line shape.

Further Theoretical Analysis on the $K^{-} {}^{3} \text{He} \to Λp n$ Reaction for the $\bar{K} N N$ Bound-State Search in the J-PARC E15 Experiment

Based on the scenario that a $\bar{K} N N$ bound state is generated and it eventually decays into $Λp$, we calculate the cross section of the $K^{-} {}^{3} \text{He} \to Λp n$ reaction, which was recently measured in the J-PARC E15 experiment. We find that the behavior of the calculated differential cross section $d ^{2} σ/ d M_{Λp} d q_{Λp}$, where $M_{Λp}$ and $q_{Λp}$ are the $Λp$ invariant mass and momentum transfer in the $(K^{-} , \, n)$ reaction in the laboratory frame, respectively, is consistent with the experiment. Furthermore, we can reproduce almost quantitatively the experimental data of the $Λp$ invariant mass spectrum in the momentum transfer window $350 \text{ MeV} /c < q_{Λp} < 650 \text{ MeV} /c$. These facts strongly suggest that the $\bar{K} N N$ bound state was indeed generated in the J-PARC E15 experiment.

Meson exchange between initial and final state and the $R_D$ ratio in the $\bar{B} \to D \barν \ell (\barν_ττ)$ reactions

We perform a calculation of the strong interaction effects between the $B$ and $D$ mesons in the $\bar{B} \to D \barν \ell$ reaction, as a crossing process of reactions with $BD$ in the final state, where the strong interaction between the mesons leads to a bound $BD$ state. We find corrections to the tree level amplitude of the order of $15-25\%$. We further see the effect of the corrections studied in the $R_D$ ratio for the rates of $\bar{B} \to D \barν_ττ$ and $\bar{B} \to D \barν_e \ell$ decays and find corrections of the order of $10\%$. Given the claims of $1.5\%$ precision in this ratio from fits to data within the standard model, any theoretical model aiming at describing this ratio within the same precision must take into account the corrections described in the present work.

The $X(4140)$ and $X(4160)$ resonances in the $e^+e^-\to γJ/ψϕ$ reaction

We investigate the $J/ψϕ$ invariant mass distribution of the $e^+e^-\to γJ/ψϕ$ reaction at a center of mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=4.6$~GeV measured by the BESIII collaboration, who concludes that no significant signals are observed for $e^+e^- \to γX(4140)$ because of the low statistics. We show, however, that the three bump structures in the $J/ψϕ$ invariant mass distribution, though given only by three data points, are compatible with the existence of the $X(4140)$ state, appearing as a peak, and a strong cusp structure at the $D^*_s\bar{D}^*_s$ threshold, resulting from the molecular nature of the $X(4160)$ state, which also provides a substantial contribution to the reaction. This is consistent with our previous analysis on the $B^+\to J/ψϕK^+$ decay measured by the LHCb collaboration. We strongly call for the measurement of this process with more statistics to further pin down the nature of the $X(4140)$ and $X(4160)$ resonances.

$D^\ast_{s0}(2317)$ and $DK$ scattering in $B$ decays from BaBar and LHCb data

We study the experimental $DK$ invariant mass spectra of the reactions $B^+ \to \bar{D}^0 D^0 K^+$, $B^0 \to D^- D^0 K^+$ (measured by the BaBar Collaboration) and $B_s \to π^+ \bar{D}^0 K^-$ (measured by the LHCb Collaboration), where an enhancement right above the threshold is seen. We show that this enhancement is due to the presence of $D^\ast_{s0}(2317)$, which is a $DK$ bound state in the $I(J^P) = 0(0^+)$ sector. We employ a unitarized amplitude with an interaction potential fixed by heavy meson chiral perturbation theory. We obtain a mass $M_{D^\ast_{s0}} = 2315^{+12}_{-17}\ ^{+10}_{-5}\ \text{MeV}$, and we also show, by means of the Weinberg compositeness condition, that the $DK$ component in the wave function of this state is $P_{DK} = 70^{+4}_{-6}\ ^{+4}_{-8} \%$, where the first (second) error is statistical (systematic).

$Λ_b \to π^- (D_s^-) Λ_c(2595),~π^- (D_s^-) Λ_c(2625)$ decays and $DN,~D^*N$ molecular components

From the perspective that the $Λ_c(2595)$ and $Λ_c(2625)$ are dynamically generated resonances from the $DN,~D^*N$ interaction and coupled channels, we have evaluated the rates for $Λ_b \to π^- Λ_c(2595)$ and $Λ_b \to π^- Λ_c(2625)$ up to a global unknown factor that allows us to calculate the ratio of rates and compare with experiment, where good agreement is found. Similarly, we can also make predictions for the ratio of rates of the, yet unknown, decays of $Λ_b \to D_s^- Λ_c(2595)$ and $Λ_b \to D_s^- Λ_c(2625)$ and make estimates for their individual branching fractions.

$χ_{c0}(1P)$ decay into $\barΣ~Σπ$ in search of an $I=1$, $1/2^-$ baryon state around $\bar K N$ threshold

We present the theoretical study of the process $χ_{c0}(1P)\to\barΣΣπ$ decay, by taking into account the $πΣ$ and $π\barΣ$ final state interactions of the final meson-baryon pair based on the chiral unitary approach. We show that the process filters the isospin $I=1$ in the $πΣ$ channel and offers a reaction to test the existence of an $I=1$ state with strangeness $S=-1$ and spin-parity $J^p=1/2^-$ around the $\bar KN$ threshold predicted by some theories and supported by some experiments.

A Discussion on Triangle Singularities in the $Λ_b \to J/ψK^{-} p$ Reaction

We have analyzed the singularities of a triangle loop integral in detail and derived a formula for an easy evaluation of the triangle singularity on the physical boundary. It is applied to the $Λ_b \rightarrow J/ψK^{-} p$ process via $Λ^*$-charmonium-proton intermediate states. Although the evaluation of absolute rates is not possible, we identify the $χ_{c1}$ and the $ψ(2S)$ as the relatively most relevant states among all possible charmonia up to the $ψ(2S)$. The $Λ(1890)\, χ_{c1}\, p$ loop is very special as its normal threshold and triangle singularities merge at about 4.45 GeV, generating a narrow and prominent peak in the amplitude in the case that the $χ_{c1}\, p$ is in an $S$-wave. We also see that loops with the same charmonium and other $Λ^*$ hyperons produce less dramatic peaks from the threshold singularity alone. For the case of $χ_{c1}\, p \rightarrow J/ψ\, p$ and quantum numbers $3/2^-$ or $5/2^+$ one needs $P$- and $D$-waves, respectively, in the $χ_{c1}\, p$, which drastically reduce the strength of the contribution and smooth the threshold peak. In this case we conclude that the singularities cannot account for the observed narrow peak. In the case of $1/2^+$, $3/2^+$ quantum numbers, where $χ_{c1}\, p \rightarrow J/ψ\, p$ can proceed in an $S$-wave, the $Λ(1890)\,χ_{c1}\,p$ triangle diagram could play an important role, though can neither assert their strength without further input from experiments and lattice QCD calculations.

A hidden-charm pentaquark state in $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp π^-$ decay

We study here the $Λ_b^0 \to J/ψp π^-$ reaction in analogy to the $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp K^-$ one, and we note that in both decays there is a sharp structure (dip or peak) in the $J/ψp$ mass distribution around $4450$ MeV, which is associated in the $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp K^-$ experiment to an exotic pentaquark baryonic state, although in $Λ_b^0 \to J/ψp π^-$ it shows up with relatively low statistics. We analyze the $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp π^-$ interaction along the same lines as the $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp K^-$ one, with the main difference stemming from the reduced Cabibbo strength in the former and the consideration of the $π^-p$ final state interaction instead of the $K^-p$ one. We find that with a minimal input, introducing the $π^-p$ and $J/ψp$ interaction in $S$-wave with realistic interactions, and the empirical $P$-wave and $D$-wave contributions, one can accomplish a qualitative description of the $π^-p$ and $J/ψp$ mass distributions. More importantly, the peak structure followed by a dip of the experimental $J/ψp$ mass distribution is reproduced with the same input as used to describe the data of $Λ^0_b\rightarrow J/ψp K^-$ reaction. The repercussion for the triangular singularity mechanism, invoked in some works to explain the pentaquark peak, is discussed.

Antikaon-nucleon interaction and Lambda(1405) in chiral SU(3) dynamics

The properties of the Lambda(1405) resonance are key ingredients for determining the antikaon-nucleon interaction in strangeness nuclear physics, and the novel internal structure of the Lambda(1405) is of great interest in hadron physics, as a prototype case of a baryon that does not fit into the simple three-quark picture. We show that a quantitative description of the antikaon-nucleon interaction with the Lambda(1405) is achieved in the framework of chiral SU(3) dynamics, with the help of recent experimental progress. Further constraints on the Kbar N subthreshold interaction are provided by analyzing pi Sigma spectra in various processes, such as the K-d -> pi Sigma n reaction and the Lambda_c -> pi pi Sigma decay. The structure of the Lambda(1405) is found to be dominated by an antikaon-nucleon molecular configuration, based on its wavefunction derived from a realistic Kbar N potential and the compositeness criteria from a model-independent weak-binding relation.

Can $X(5568)$ be described as a $B_sπ$, $B\bar{K}$ resonant state?

The D0 Collaboration has recently seen a resonant-like peak in the $B_sπ$ invariant mass spectrum, claimed to be a new state called $X(5568)$. Using a $B_sπ$--$B\bar{K}$ coupled channel analysis, implementing unitarity, and with the interaction derived from Heavy Meson Chiral Perturbation Theory, we are able to reproduce the reported spectrum, with a pole that can be associated to the claimed $X(5568)$ state, and with mass and width in agreement with the ones reported in the experimental analysis. However, if the $T$-matrix regularization is performed by means of a momentum cutoff, the value for the latter needed to reproduce the spectrum is $Λ= 2.80 \pm 0.04\ \text{GeV}$, much larger than a "natural" value $Λ\simeq 1\ \text{GeV}$. In view of this, it is difficult to interpret the nature of this new state. This state would not qualify as a resonance dynamically generated by the unitarity loops. Assuming the observed peak to correspond to a physical state, we make predictions for partners in the $D$, $D^\ast$, and $B^\ast$ sectors. Their observation (or lack thereof) would shed light into this issue.

Novel nonperturbative approach for radiative $\bar{B}^0(\bar{B}^0_s)\rightarrow J/ψγ$ decays

Radiative $\bar{B}^0(\bar{B}^0_s)\rightarrow J/ψγ$ decays provide an interesting case to test our understanding of (non)perturbative QCD and eventually to probe physics beyond the standard model. Recently, the LHCb Collaboration has reported an upper bound, updating the results of the BABAR Collaboration. Previous theoretical predictions based on QCD factorization or perturbative QCD have shown large variations due to different treatment of nonfactorizable contributions and meson-photon transitions. In this paper, we report on a novel approach to estimate the decay rates, which is based on a recently proposed model for $B$ decays and the vector meson dominance hypothesis, widely tested in the relevant energy regions. The predicted branching ratios are $\mathrm{Br}[\bar{B}^0\rightarrow J/ψγ]=\left(3.50\pm0.34^{+1.12}_{-0.63}\right)\times10^{-8}$ and $\mathrm{Br}[\bar{B}^0_s\rightarrow J/ψγ]=\left(7.20\pm0.68^{+2.31}_{-1.30}\right)\times10^{-7}$. The first uncertainty is systematic and the second is statistical, originating from the experimental $\bar{B}^0_s\rightarrow J/ψϕ$ branching ratio.

The $Λ_{b}\rightarrow J/ψK^{0}Λ$ reaction and a hidden-charm pentaquark state with strangeness

We study the $Λ_{b}\rightarrow J/ψK^{0}Λ$ reaction considering both the $K^{0}Λ$ interaction with its coupled channels and the $J/ψΛ$ interaction. The latter is described by taking into account the fact that there are predictions for a hidden-charm state with strangeness that couples to $J/ψΛ$. By using the coupling of the resonance to $J/ψΛ$ from these predictions we show that a neat peak can be observed in the $J/ψΛ$ invariant mass distribution, rather stable under changes of unknown magnitudes. In some cases, one finds a dip structure associated to that state, but a signal of the state shows up in the $J/ψ$ spectrum.

Weak decays of heavy hadrons into dynamically generated resonances

In this review we give a perspective of the theoretical work done recently on the interpretation of results from $B$, $D$, $Λ_b$, $Λ_c$ weak decays into final states that contain interacting hadrons, and how it is possible to obtain additional valuable information that is increasing our understanding of hadron interactions and the nature of many hadronic resonances. The novelty of these processes is that one begins with a clean picture at the quark level which allows one to select the basic mechanisms by means of which the process proceeds. Finally, one has a final state described in terms of quarks. To make contact with the experiments, where mesons and baryons are observed, one must hadronize, creating pairs of $q \bar q$ and writing the new states in terms of mesons and baryons. This concludes the primary hadron production in these processes. After that, the interaction of these hadrons takes place, offering a rich spectrum of resonances and special features from where it is possible to learn much about the interaction of these hadrons and the nature of many resonances in terms of the components of their wave functions.

We find that in the reactions producing $π^+ π^-$ a clear peak for the $f_0(980)$ resonance is found, while no trace of $f_0(500)$ appears. Similarly, in the cases of $πη$ production a strong peak is found for the $a_0(980)$ resonance, with the characteristic strong cusp shape. Cross sections and invariant mass distributions are evaluated which should serve, comparing with future data, to test the dynamics of the chiral unitary approach used for the evaluations and the nature of these resonances.

$D_{s0}^{\ast\pm}(2317)$ and $KD$ scattering from $B^0_s$ decay

We study the $\bar{B}_s^0\to D_s^-(DK)^+$ weak decay, and look at the $DK$ invariant mass distribution with the aim of obtaining relevant information on the nature of the $D_{s0}^{\ast+}(2317)$ resonance. We make a simulation of the experiment using the actual mass of the $D_{s0}^{\ast+}(2317)$ resonance and recent lattice QCD relevant parameters of the $KD$ scattering amplitude. We then solve the inverse problem of obtaining the $KD$ amplitude from these synthetic data, to which we have added a 5\% or 10\% error. We prove that one can obtain from these "data" the existence of a bound $KD$ state, the $KD$ scattering length and effective range, and most importantly, the $KD$ probability in the wave function of the bound state obtained, which was found to be largely dominant from the lattice QCD results. This means that one can obtain information on the nature of the $D_{s0}^{\ast+}(2317)$ resonance from the implementation of this experiment, in the line of finding the structure of resonances, which is one of the main aims in hadron spectroscopy.

$S$-wave $KK^*$ interaction in a finite volume and the $f_1(1285)$

Lattice QCD simulations provide a promising way to disentangle different interpretations of hadronic resonances, which might be of particular relevance to understand the nature of the so-called $XYZ$ particles. Recent studies have shown that in addition to the well-established naive quark model picture, the axial-vector meson $f_1(1285)$ can also be understood as a dynamically generated state built upon the $KK^*$ interaction. In this work, we calculate the energy levels of the $KK^*$ system in the $f_1(1285)$ channel in finite volume using the chiral unitary approach. We propose to calculate the loop function in the dimensional regularization scheme, which is equivalent to the hybrid approach adopted in previous studies. We also study the inverse problem of extracting the bound state information from synthetic lattice QCD data and comment on the difference between our approach and the L{\" u}scher method.

Investigating the nature of light scalar mesons with semileptonic decays of D mesons

We study the semileptonic decays of $D_{s}^{+}$, $D^{+}$, and $D^{0}$ mesons into the light scalar mesons [$f_{0} (500)$, $K_{0}^{\ast} (800)$, $f_{0} (980)$, and $a_{0}(980)$] and the light vector mesons [$ρ(770)$, $ω(782)$, $K^{\ast} (892)$, and $ϕ(1020)$]. With the help of a chiral unitarity approach in coupled channels, we compute the branching fractions for scalar meson processes of the semileptonic $D$ decays in a simple way. Using current known values of the branching fractions, we make predictions for the branching fractions of the semileptonic decay modes with other scalar and vector mesons. Furthermore, we calculate the $π^{+} π^{-}$, $πη$, $πK$, and $K^{+} K^{-}$ invariant mass distributions in the semileptonic decays of $D$ mesons, which will help us clarify the nature of the light scalar mesons.

Looking for a hidden-charm pentaquark state with strangeness $S=-1$ from $Ξ^-_b$ decay into $J/ψK^- Λ$

Assuming that the recently observed hidden-charm pentaquark state, $P_c(4450)$, is of molecular nature as predicted in the unitary approach, we propose to study the decay of $Ξ^-_b\rightarrow J/ψK^- Λ$ to search for the strangeness counterpart of the $P_c(4450)$. There are three ingredients in the decay mechanism: the weak decay mechanism, the hadronization mechanism, and the finite state interactions in the meson-baryon system of strangeness $S=-2$ and isospin $I=1/2$ and of the $J/ψΛ$. All these have been tested extensively. As a result, we provide a genuine prediction of the differential cross section where a strangeness hidden-charm pentaquark state, the counterpart of the $P_c(4450)$, can be clearly seen. The decay rate is estimated to be of similar magnitude as the $Λ_b^0\rightarrow J/ψK^- p$ observed by the LHCb collaboration.

Photoproduction of the $f'_2(1525)$ and $K^*_2(1430)$

Assuming that the $f'_2(1525)$ and $K^*_2(1430)$ resonances are dynamically generated states from the vector meson-vector meson interactions in $S$-wave with spin $S=2$, we study the $γp \to f'_2(1525) p$ and $γp \to K^*_2(1430) Λ(Σ)$ reactions. These reactions proceed in the following way: the incoming photon first mutates into a $ρ^0$, $ω$, or $ϕ$ meson via vector meson dominance, which then interacts with the $ρ^0$, $ω$ or $K^*$ emitted by the incoming proton to form the tensor mesons $f'_2(1525)$ and $K^*_2(1430)$. The picture is simple and has no free parameters, as all the parameters of the mechanism have been fixed in previous studies. We predict the differential and total cross sections of these reactions. The results can be tested in future experiments and therefore offer new clues on the nature of these tensor states.

Predictions for the $Λ_b \to J/ψ~ Λ(1405)$ decay

We calculate the shape of the $πΣ$ and $\bar K N$ invariant mass distributions in the $Λ_b \to J/ψ\, πΣ$ and $Λ_b \to J/ψ\,\bar K N$ decays that are dominated by the $Λ(1405)$ resonance. The weak interaction part is the same for both processes and the hadronization into the different meson-baryon channels in the final state is related by SU(3) symmetry. The most important feature is the implementation of the meson-baryon final-state interaction using two chiral unitary models from different theoretical groups. Both approaches give a good description of antikaon-nucleon scattering data, the complex energy shift in kaonic hydrogen and the line shapes of $πΣK$ in photoproduction, based on the two-pole scenario for the $Λ(1405)$. We find that this reaction reflects more the higher mass pole and we make predictions of the line shapes and relative strength of the meson-baryon distributions in the final state.

Weak decay of Lambda_c^+ for the study of Lambda(1405) and Lambda(1670)

We study the Lambda_c decay process to pi^+ and the meson-baryon final state for the analysis of Lambda resonances. Considering the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix, color suppression, diquark correlation and the kinematical condition, we show that the final meson-baryon state should be in a pure I=0 combination, when the meson-baryon invariant mass is small. Because the I=1 contamination usually makes it difficult to analyze Lambda resonances directly from experiments, the Lambda_c decay is an ideal process to study Lambda resonances. Calculating the final state interaction by chiral unitary approaches, we find that the piSigma invariant mass distributions have the same peak structure in the all charge combination of the piSigma states related to the higher pole of the two poles of the Lambda(1405). Furthermore, we obtain a clear the Lambda(1670) peak structure in the KbarN and etaLambda spectra.

Test of the $h_1(1830)$ made of $K^{*}\bar{K}^*$ with the $η_c\rightarrow ϕK^{*}\bar{K}^{*}$ decay

We present a new reaction, complementary to the $J/ψ\rightarrow ηK^{*0}\bar{K}^{*0}$ from which an $h_1$ resonance with mass around $1830$ MeV was reported from a BESIII experiment. The new reaction is $η_c\rightarrow ϕK^*\bar{K}^*$, or $η_c(2S)\rightarrow ϕK^*\bar{K}^*$. Using the information from the analysis of $J/ψ\rightarrow ηK^{*0}\bar{K}^{*0}$, we find that the $K^*\bar{K}^*$ invariant mass distribution for those two $η_c$ decays exhibits a clear peak around $1830$ MeV perfectly distinguishable from what one obtains with pure phase space. We suggest the implementation of these reactions to assert the existence of this elusive resonance which, by its nature as a vector-vector molecule with $0^-(1^{+-})$ quantum numbers, only couples to the $K^*\bar{K}^*$ channel.

The width of the $ω$ meson in dense matter

We obtain the width of the $ω$ meson in dense nuclear matter by taking into account (i) the free decay of the $ω$ into three pions, which is dominated by $ρπ$ mode, (ii) the processes induced by a vector-baryon interaction dominated by vector meson exchange, and (iii) the $ω\to K \bar K$ mechanism in matter. The $ω$ meson develops an important width in matter, coming from the dominant $ω\to ρπ$ decay mode, with a value of $121 \pm 10$ MeV at normal nuclear matter density for an $ω$ at rest. At finite momentum, the width of the $ω$ meson increases moderately with values of 200 MeV at 600 MeV/c.

Constraints on a possible dibaryon from combined analysis of the $pn \to d π^+ π^-$ and $pn \to pn π^+ π^-$ cross sections

We use recent data that show a narrow peak around $\sqrt{s}=2.37\ \text{GeV}$ in the $pn \to d π^+ π^-$ cross section, with about double strength at the peak than in the analogous $pn \to d π^0 π^0$ reaction, and, assuming that it is due to the excitation of a dibaryon resonance, we evaluate the cross section for the $pn \to pn π^+ π^-$ reaction, with the final $pn$ unbound but with the same quantum numbers as the deuteron. We use accurate techniques to determine the final state interaction in the case of the $pn$ forming a deuteron or a positive energy state, which allow us to get the $pn \to pn π^+ π^-$ cross section with $pn$ in I=0 and S=1, that turns out to be quite close or saturates the experimental $pn \to pn π^+ π^-$ total cross section around $\sqrt{s} = 2.37\ \text{GeV}$, depending on the angular momentum assumed. We then parametrize a background with different methods, and the sum of the resonant and background contributions is fitted to present data. The resulting cross section exceeds the experimental results in the region of the resonant peak, showing a problem in the dibaryon hypothesis. Yet, in view of the dispersion of present experimental data, and the scarce information around $\sqrt{s} = 2.37\ \text{GeV}$, a call is made for precise measurements of the $pn \to pnπ^+π^-$ reaction around this energy, to further clarify this issue.

Hidden charm molecules in finite volume

In the present paper we address the interaction of pairs of charmed mesons with hidden charm in a finite box. We use the interaction from a recent model based on heavy quark spin symmetry that predicts molecules of hidden charm in the infinite volume. The energy levels in the box are generated within this model, and from them some synthetic data are generated. These data are then employed to study the inverse problem of getting the energies of the bound states and phase shifts for $D \bar D$ or $D^* {\bar D}^*$. Different strategies are investigated using the lowest two levels for different values of the box size, carrying a study of the errors produced. Starting from the upper level, fits to the synthetic data are carried out to determine the scattering length and effective range plus the binding energy of the ground state. A similar strategy using the effective range formula is considered with a simultaneous fit to the two levels, one above and the other one below threshold. This method turns out to be more efficient than the other one. Finally, a method based on the fit to the data by means of a potential and a loop function conveniently regularized, turns out to be very efficient and allows to produce accurate results in the infinite volume starting from levels of the box with errors far larger than the uncertainties obtained in the final results. A regularization method based on Gaussian wave functions turns out to be rather efficient in the analysis and as a byproduct a practical and fast method to calculate the Lüscher function with high precision is presented.

The $K^- d \to πΣn$ reaction revisited

The appearance of some papers dealing with the $K^- d \to πΣn$ reaction, with some discrepancies in the results and a proposal to measure the reaction at forward $n$ angles at J-PARC justifies to retake the theoretical study with high precision to make accurate predictions for the experiment and extract from there the relevant physical information. We do this in the present paper showing results using the Watson approach and the truncated Faddeev approach. We argue that the Watson approach is more suitable to study the reaction because it takes into account the potential energy of the nucleons forming the deuteron, which is neglected in the truncated Faddeev approach. Predictions for the experiment are done as well as spectra with the integrated neutron angle.

Theoretical study of incoherent phi photoproduction on a deuteron target

We study the photoproduction of phi mesons in deuteron, paying attention to the modification of the cross section from bound protons to the free ones with the aim of comparing with recent results at LEPS. For this purpose we take into account Fermi motion in single scattering and rescattering of the phi to account for phi absorption on a second nucleon as well as the rescattering of the proton. We find that the contribution of the double scattering is much smaller than the typical cross section of gamma p to phi p in free space, which implies a very small screening of the phi production in deuteron. The contribution from the proton rescattering, on the other hand, is found to be not negligible compared to the cross section of gamma p to phi p in free space, and leads to a moderate reduction of the phi photoproduction cross section on a deuteron at forward angles if LEPS set up is taken into account. The Fermi motion allows contribution of the single scattering in regions forbidden by phase space in the free case. In particular, we find that for momentum transferred squared close to the maximum value, the Fermi motion changes drastically the shape of d sigma / dt, to the point that the ratio of this cross section to the free one becomes very sensitive to the precise value of t chosen, or the size of the bin used in an experimental analysis. Hence, this particular region of t does not seem the most indicated to find effects of a possible phi absorption in the deuteron. This reaction is studied theoretically as a function of t and the effect of the experimental angular cuts at LEPS is also discussed, providing guidelines for future experimental analyses of the reaction.

$\bar K^*$ meson in nuclear matter

The properties of the $\bar K^*$ meson in dense matter are studied using a unitary approach in coupled channels within the framework of the local hidden gauge formalism. We obtain the $\bar K^*$ spectral function in the nuclear medium and we found that the $\bar K^*$ develops an in-medium width up to five times bigger than in free space. We also estimate the transparency ratio of the $γA \to K^+ K^{*-} A^\prime$ reaction, which we propose as a feasible experimental scenario to detect in-medium modifications of the $\bar K^*$ meson.

Radiative decays of the Y(3940), Z(3930) and the X(4160) as dynamically generated resonances

We study the radiative decay properties of the charmonium-like X, Y and Z mesons generated dynamically from vector meson-vector meson interaction in the framework of a unitarized hidden-gauge formalism. In the present work we calculate the one- and two-photon decay widths of the hidden-charm Y(3940), Z(3930) (or X(3915)) and X(4160) mesons in the framework of the vector meson dominance formalism. We obtain good agreement with experiment in case of the two photon width of the X(3915) which we associate with the $2^+$ resonance that we find at 3922 MeV.

Charm and Hidden Charm Scalar Resonances in Nuclear Matter

We study the properties of the scalar charm resonances $D_{s0}(2317)$ and $D_0(2400)$, and the theoretical hidden charm state X(3700) in nuclear matter. We find that for the $D_{s0}(2317)$ and X(3700) resonances, with negligible and small width at zero density, respectively, the width becomes about $100 {\rm MeV}$ and $200 {\rm MeV}$ at normal nuclear matter density, accordingly. For $D_0(2400)$ the change in width is relatively less important. We discuss the origin of this new width and trace it to reactions occurring in the nucleus. We also propose a possible experimental test for those modifications in nuclear matter, which will bring valuable information on the nature of those scalar resonances and the interaction of $D$ mesons with nucleons.
