Finding a clean process B−→K−D0K0B^- \to K^- D^0 K^0 to probe absolutely exotic four-quark states

Motivated by the observations of Tcsˉ0(2900)0T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0 and Tcsˉ0(2900)++T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++}, we propose to search for Tcsˉ0(2900)0T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0 in the cleaner process B−→K−D0K0B^- \to K^- D^0 K^0. In the D∗K∗D^*K^* molecular picture, our estimates suggest that Tcsˉ0(2900)0T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0 should contribute significantly to the D0K0D^0 K^0 invariant mass distribution in B−→K−D0K0B^- \to K^- D^0 K^0, as reported by the Belle II Collaboration. The corresponding fit fraction is estimated to be (9.72±3.92)%(9.72\pm 3.92)\%. Further precise measurements of this process at Belle II and LHCb could help clarify the nature of Tcsˉ0(2900)T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900).

Role of Σ(1660)Σ(1660) in the K−p→π0π0Σ0K^- p \toπ^0π^0Σ^0 reaction

The processes of K−p→π0π0Σ0K^-p \to π^0 π^0 Σ^0 and K−p→π0Λ(1405)K^- p \to π^0 Λ(1405) are studied within the effective Lagrangian approach. In addition to the ``background" contribution from the uu-channel nucleon pole term, contribution from the Σ(1660)Σ(1660) resonance with spin-parity JP=1/2+J^P=1/2^+ is also considered. For the K−p→π0π0Σ0K^-p \to π^0 π^0 Σ^0 reaction, we perform a calculation for the total and differential cross sections by considering the contribution from the Σ(1660)Σ(1660) intermediate resonance decaying into π0Λ(1405)π^0 Λ(1405) with Λ(1405)Λ(1405) decaying into π0Σ0π^0 Σ^0. With our model parameters, the available experimental data on both the K−p→π0π0Σ0K^-p \to π^0 π^0 Σ^0 and K−p→π0Λ(1405)K^- p \to π^0 Λ(1405) reactions can be fairly well reproduced. It is shown that we really need the contribution from the Σ(1660)Σ(1660) resonance, and that these experimental measurements could be used to determine some properties of the Σ(1660)Σ(1660) resonance.

The roles of the Tcsˉ0(2900)0T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0 and D0∗(2300)D_0^*(2300) in the process B−→Ds+K−π−B^-\to D_s^+K^-π^-

Motivated by the recent LHCb observations of Tcsˉ0(2900)0T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0 and Tcsˉ0(2900)++T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++} in the processes B0→Dˉ0Ds+π−B^0\to\bar{D}^0D_s^+π^- and B+→D−Ds+π+B^+\to D^-D_s^+π^+, we have investigated the decay B−→Ds+K−π−B^-\to D_s^+K^-π^- by taking into account the contributions from the SS-wave vector-vector interactions, and the SS-wave Ds+K−D^+_s K^- interactions. Our results show that the Ds+K−D_s^+K^- invariant mass distribution has an enhancement structure near the threshold, associated with the D0∗(2300)D^*_0(2300), which is in good agreement with the Belle measurements. We have also predicted the Ds+π−D^+_sπ^- invariant mass distribution and the Dalitz plot, which show the significant signal of the Tcsˉ0(2900)T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900). With the same formalism, the Ds−Ks0D^-_sK^0_s invariant mass distribution of the process B0→Ds−Ks0π+B^0 \to D^-_sK^0_sπ^+ measured by Belle could be well reproduced, and the peak of Tcsˉ0(2900)T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900) is expected to be observed around 2900~MeV in the Ds−π+D^-_sπ^+ invariant mass distribution. Our results could be tested by the Belle II and LHCb experiments in the future.

A Unified Collaborative Representation Learning for Neural-Network based Recommender Systems

Most NN-RSs focus on accuracy by building representations from the direct user-item interactions (e.g., user-item rating matrix), while ignoring the underlying relatedness between users and items (e.g., users who rate the same ratings for the same items should be embedded into similar representations), which is an ideological disadvantage. On the other hand, ME models directly employ inner products as a default loss function metric that cannot project users and items into a proper latent space, which is a methodological disadvantage. In this paper, we propose a supervised collaborative representation learning model - Magnetic Metric Learning (MML) - to map users and items into a unified latent vector space, enhancing the representation learning for NN-RSs. Firstly, MML utilizes dual triplets to model not only the observed relationships between users and items, but also the underlying relationships between users as well as items to overcome the ideological disadvantage. Specifically, a modified metric-based dual loss function is proposed in MML to gather similar entities and disperse the dissimilar ones. With MML, we can easily compare all the relationships (user to user, item to item, user to item) according to the weighted metric, which overcomes the methodological disadvantage. We conduct extensive experiments on four real-world datasets with large item space. The results demonstrate that MML can learn a proper unified latent space for representations from the user-item matrix with high accuracy and effectiveness, and lead to a performance gain over the state-of-the-art RS models by an average of 17%.

Can we understand the decay width of the Tcc+T_{cc}^+ state?

Inspired by the recent discovery of a doubly charmed tetraquark state Tcc+T_{cc}^+ by the LHCb Collaboration, we employ the effective Lagrangian approach to investigate the decay width of Tcc+→D+D0π0/D0D0π+T_{cc}^{+}\to D^{+} D^{0}π^{0}/D^{0} D^{0}π^{+} and Tcc+→D0D+γT_{cc}^{+}\to D^{0}D^{+}γ with the assumption that Tcc+T_{cc}^{+} is an isoscalar DD∗DD^{\ast} molecule. We show that both the Tcc→DDπT_{cc}\to D Dπ and Tcc→DDγT_{cc}\to DDγ modes contribute to the decay width of TccT_{cc}, with the former being dominant. The resulting total decay width of about Γ=63Γ=63 keV is smaller than the experimental decay width obtained from the Breit-Wigner fit of the LHCb data, Γ=410±165±43−38+18Γ=410\pm 165\pm 43^{+18}_{-38} keV, while close to the number obtained from the alternative unitary analysis, Γ=48±2−14+0Γ=48\pm 2^{+0}_{-14} keV, which supports the molecular nature of TccT_{cc}.

Detect Professional Malicious User with Metric Learning in Recommender Systems

In e-commerce, online retailers are usually suffering from professional malicious users (PMUs), who utilize negative reviews and low ratings to their consumed products on purpose to threaten the retailers for illegal profits. Specifically, there are three challenges for PMU detection: 1) professional malicious users do not conduct any abnormal or illegal interactions (they never concurrently leave too many negative reviews and low ratings at the same time), and they conduct masking strategies to disguise themselves. Therefore, conventional outlier detection methods are confused by their masking strategies. 2) the PMU detection model should take both ratings and reviews into consideration, which makes PMU detection a multi-modal problem. 3) there are no datasets with labels for professional malicious users in public, which makes PMU detection an unsupervised learning problem. To this end, we propose an unsupervised multi-modal learning model: MMD, which employs Metric learning for professional Malicious users Detection with both ratings and reviews. MMD first utilizes a modified RNN to project the informational review into a sentiment score, which jointly considers the ratings and reviews. Then professional malicious user profiling (MUP) is proposed to catch the sentiment gap between sentiment scores and ratings. MUP filters the users and builds a candidate PMU set. We apply a metric learning-based clustering to learn a proper metric matrix for PMU detection. Finally, we can utilize this metric and labeled users to detect PMUs. Specifically, we apply the attention mechanism in metric learning to improve the model's performance. The extensive experiments in four datasets demonstrate that our proposed method can solve this unsupervised detection problem. Moreover, the performance of the state-of-the-art recommender models is enhanced by taking MMD as a preprocessing stage.

Generating Self-Serendipity Preference in Recommender Systems for Addressing Cold Start Problems

Classical accuracy-oriented Recommender Systems (RSs) typically face the cold-start problem and the filter-bubble problem when users suffer the familiar, repeated, and even predictable recommendations, making them boring and unsatisfied. To address the above issues, serendipity-oriented RSs are proposed to recommend appealing and valuable items significantly deviating from users' historical interactions and thus satisfying them by introducing unexplored but relevant candidate items to them. In this paper, we devise a novel serendipity-oriented recommender system (\textbf{G}enerative \textbf{S}elf-\textbf{S}erendipity \textbf{R}ecommender \textbf{S}ystem, \textbf{GS2^2-RS}) that generates users' self-serendipity preferences to enhance the recommendation performance. Specifically, this model extracts users' interest and satisfaction preferences, generates virtual but convincible neighbors' preferences from themselves, and achieves their self-serendipity preference. Then these preferences are injected into the rating matrix as additional information for RS models. Note that GS2^2-RS can not only tackle the cold-start problem but also provides diverse but relevant recommendations to relieve the filter-bubble problem. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets illustrate that the proposed GS2^2-RS model can significantly outperform the state-of-the-art baseline approaches in serendipity measures with a stable accuracy performance.

Mass spectra and decay properties of the higher excited ρρ mesons

Although there are some experimental hints for the higher excited ρρ mesons, our knowledge of their properties is much poor theoretically. Based on our recent work about excited ρρ mesons [Phys.Rev.D104(2021)034013], we present the mass spectra and decay properties of the higher excited ρρ mesons with the modified Godfrey-Isgur quark model and the 3P0^3P_0 strong decay model, and compare our predictions with the experimental hints, which should be helpful to search for these higher excited ρρ mesons.

Mass Testing and Characterization of 20-inch PMTs for JUNO

Main goal of the JUNO experiment is to determine the neutrino mass ordering using a 20kt liquid-scintillator detector. Its key feature is an excellent energy resolution of at least 3 % at 1 MeV, for which its instruments need to meet a certain quality and thus have to be fully characterized. More than 20,000 20-inch PMTs have been received and assessed by JUNO after a detailed testing program which began in 2017 and elapsed for about four years. Based on this mass characterization and a set of specific requirements, a good quality of all accepted PMTs could be ascertained. This paper presents the performed testing procedure with the designed testing systems as well as the statistical characteristics of all 20-inch PMTs intended to be used in the JUNO experiment, covering more than fifteen performance parameters including the photocathode uniformity. This constitutes the largest sample of 20-inch PMTs ever produced and studied in detail to date, i.e. 15,000 of the newly developed 20-inch MCP-PMTs from Northern Night Vision Technology Co. (NNVT) and 5,000 of dynode PMTs from Hamamatsu Photonics K. K.(HPK).

Roles of a0(980)a_0(980), Λ(1670)Λ(1670), and Σ(1385)Σ(1385) in the Λc+→ηΛπ+Λ_c^+ \to ηΛπ^+ decay

Recently, the Belle Collaboration has measured the Λc+→ηΛπ+Λ_c^+ \to ηΛπ^+ decay and reported the ηΛηΛ and Λπ+Λπ^+ invariant mass distributions, which show the clear signals of the resonances Λ(1670)Λ(1670) and Σ(1385)Σ(1385), respectively. Based on our previous works [Eur. Phys. J. C 76 (2016) 496 and Phys. Rev. D 95 (2017) 074024], we re-analyze this process by considering the SS-wave ηΛηΛ and ηπ+ηπ^+ final state interactions within the chiral unitary approach, which dynamically generate the Λ(1670)Λ(1670) and a0(980)a_0(980), respectively. Our results are in good agreement with the Belle measurements, which supports the molecular nature of the Λ(1670)Λ(1670) and a0(980)a_0(980). In addition, the ηπ+ηπ^+ invariant mass distributions are also computed and a cusp structure of a0(980)a_0(980) is cleary shown around the KKˉK\bar{K} mass threshold.

The possible assignments of the scalar K0∗(1950)K_0^*(1950) and K0∗(2130)K_0^*(2130) within the 3P0^3P_0 model

We have evaluated the strong decays of the K0∗(1950)K_0^*(1950) and K0∗(2130)K_0^*(2130) within the 3P0^3P_0 model, by employing the meson wave functions from the relativized quark model. By comparing with the experimental measurements, the K0∗(2130)K_0^*(2130) could be assigned as K0∗(33P0)K_0^*(3^3P_0), while the K0∗(1950)K_0^*(1950) seems like an exotic state, because its width can not be reasonably reproduced within the 3P0^3P_0 model. We also predict that the K0∗(23P0)K_0^*(2^3P_0) state has a mass of about 18111811 MeV and a width of about 656656 MeV, while the K0∗(43P0)K_0^*(4^3P_0) state has a mass of about 24042404 MeV and a width of about 180180 MeV.

Theoretical study of the process Ds+→π+KS0KS0D^+_s \to π^+ K^0_S K^0_S and the isovector partner of f0(1710)f_0(1710)

We present a theoretical study of a0(1710)a_0(1710), the isovector partner of f0(1710)f_0(1710), in the process Ds+→π+KS0KS0D^+_s \to π^+ K^0_SK^0_S. The weak interaction part proceeds through the charm quark decay process: c(sˉ)→(s+dˉ+u)(sˉ)c(\bar{s}) \to (s + \bar{d} + u)(\bar{s}), while the hadronization part takes place in two mechanisms, differing in how the quarks from the weak decay combines into πK∗πK^* with a quark-antiquark pair qqˉq\bar{q} with the vacuum quantum numbers. In addition to the contribution from the tree diagram of the K∗+→π+KS0K^{*+} \to π^+ K^0_S, we have also considered the K∗Kˉ∗K^*\bar{K}^* final-state interactions within the chiral unitary approach to generate the intermediate state a0(1710)a_0(1710), then it decays into the final states KS0KS0K^0_SK^0_S. We find that the recent experimental measurements on the KS0KS0K^0_SK^0_S and π+KS0π^+K^0_S invariant mass distributions can be well reproduced, and the proposed mechanism can provide valuable information on the nature of scalar f0(1710)f_0(1710) and its isovector partner a0(1710)a_0(1710).

Analysis of the e+e−→J/ψDDˉ \boldsymbol{e^+ e^- \to J/ψD\bar D} reaction close to the threshold concerning claims of a χc0(2P)χ_{c0}(2P) state

We analyze the DDˉD\bar{D} mass distribution from a recent Belle experiment on the e+e−→J/ψDDˉe^+e^- \to J/ψD\bar{D} reaction, and show that the mass distribution divided by phase space does not have a clear peak above the DDˉD\bar{D} threshold that justifies the experimental claim of a χc0(2P)χ_{c0}(2P) state from those data. Then we use a unitary formalism with coupled channels D+D−D^+D^-, D0Dˉ0D^0\bar{D}^0, DsDˉsD_s\bar{D}_s, and ηηηη, with some of the interactions taken from a theoretical model, and use the data to fix other parameters. We then show that, given the poor quality of the data, we can get different fits leading to very different DDˉD\bar{D} amplitudes, some of them supporting a DDˉD\bar{D} bound state and others not. The main conclusion is that the claim for the χc0(2P)χ_{c0}(2P) state, already included in the PDG, is premature, but refined data can provide very valuable information on the DDˉD\bar{D} scattering amplitude. As side effects, we warn about the use of a Breit-Wigner amplitude parameterization close to threshold, and show that the DsDˉsD_s\bar{D}_s channel plays an important role in this reaction.

JUNO Physics and Detector

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is a 20 kton LS detector at 700-m underground. An excellent energy resolution and a large fiducial volume offer exciting opportunities for addressing many important topics in neutrino and astro-particle physics. With 6 years of data, the neutrino mass ordering can be determined at 3-4 sigma and three oscillation parameters can be measured to a precision of 0.6% or better by detecting reactor antineutrinos. With 10 years of data, DSNB could be observed at 3-sigma; a lower limit of the proton lifetime of 8.34e33 years (90% C.L.) can be set by searching for p->nu_bar K^+; detection of solar neutrinos would shed new light on the solar metallicity problem and examine the vacuum-matter transition region. A core-collapse supernova at 10 kpc would lead to ~5000 IBD and ~2000 (300) all-flavor neutrino-proton (electron) scattering events. Geo-neutrinos can be detected with a rate of ~400 events/year. We also summarize the final design of the JUNO detector and the key R&D achievements. All 20-inch PMTs have been tested. The average photon detection efficiency is 28.9% for the 15,000 MCP PMTs and 28.1% for the 5,000 dynode PMTs, higher than the JUNO requirement of 27%. Together with the >20 m attenuation length of LS, we expect a yield of 1345 p.e. per MeV and an effective energy resolution of 3.02%/\sqrt{E (MeV)}$ in simulations. The underwater electronics is designed to have a loss rate <0.5% in 6 years. With degassing membranes and a micro-bubble system, the radon concentration in the 35-kton water pool could be lowered to <10 mBq/m^3. Acrylic panels of radiopurity <0.5 ppt U/Th are produced. The 20-kton LS will be purified onsite. Singles in the fiducial volume can be controlled to ~10 Hz. The JUNO experiment also features a double calorimeter system with 25,600 3-inch PMTs, a LS testing facility OSIRIS, and a near detector TAO.

The resonances X(4140)X(4140), X(4160)X(4160), and Pcs(4459)P_{cs}(4459) in the decay of Λb→J/ψΛϕΛ_b\to J/ψΛϕ

We study the decay of Λb→J/ψΛϕΛ_b\to J/ψΛϕ by taking into account the intermediate resonances X(4140)X(4140), X(4160)X(4160), and Pcs(4459)P_{cs}(4459). In addition to the peak of the X(4140)X(4140), we also find a bump structure around 4160 MeV followed by a cusp structure around Ds∗Dˉs∗D^*_s\bar{D}^*_s threshold in the J/ψϕJ/ψϕ invariant mass distribution of the Λb→J/ψΛϕΛ_b\to J/ψΛϕ process, which can be associated to the Ds∗Dˉs∗D^*_s\bar{D}^*_s molecular state X(4160)X(4160). We also show that this reaction can also be used to confirm the existence of the hidden-charm pentaquark Pcs(4459)P_{cs}(4459) with strangeness. We predict an enhancement structure close to the threshold in the Ds∗Dˉs∗D^*_s\bar{D}^*_s invariant mass distribution of the Λb→Ds∗Dˉs∗ΛΛ_b\to D^*_s\bar{D}^*_sΛ process, which is the reflection of the X(4160)X(4160) and should not be misidentified with a new resonance. We strongly suggest experimentalists to further measure these processes, which can be useful to clarify the nature of X(4140)X(4140) and X(4160)X(4160) resonances, and to confirm the existence of the Pcs(4459)P_{cs}(4459).

Canonical interpretation of the X(4140)X(4140) state within the 3P0^3P_0 model

Recently, the LHCb Collaboration has confirmed the state X(4140)X(4140), with a mass M=4146.5±4.5−2.8+4.6M=4146.5\pm 4.5^{+4.6}_{-2.8}~MeV, and a much larger width Γ=83±21−14+21Γ=83\pm21^{+21}_{-14}~MeV than the previous experimental measurements, which has confused the understanding of its nature. We will investigate the possibility of the χc1(3P)χ_{c1}(3P) interpretation for the X(4140)X(4140), considering the mass spectra predicted in the quark model, and the strong decay properties within the 3P0^3P_0 model. We also predict the strong decay properties of the charmonium states χc0(3P)χ_{c0}(3P) and χc2(3P)χ_{c2}(3P). Our results show that the X(4140)X(4140) state with the small width given in PDG can be explained as the charmonium state χc1(3P)χ_{c1}(3P) in the 3P0^3P_0 model, and high precision measurement of the width of the X(4140)X(4140) is crucial to understand its nature.

Enhancement near the pˉΛ\bar{p}Λ threshold in the χc0→pˉK+Λχ_{c0}\to \bar{p}K^+Λ reaction

We have analyzed the reaction χc0→pˉK+Λχ_{c0}\to \bar{p} K^+Λ reported by the BESIII Collaboration, taking into account the contributions from the intermediate K(1830)K(1830), N(2300)N(2300), and Λ(1520)Λ(1520) resonances. Our results are in good agreement with the BESIII measurements, and it is found that the anomalous enhancement near the pˉΛ\bar{p}Λ threshold is mainly due to the contribution of the K(1830)K(1830) resonance. We also show that the interference of the high-mass N∗N^* and Λ∗Λ^* can not produce the anomalous enhancement near the pˉΛ\bar{p}Λ threshold.

Feasibility and physics potential of detecting 8^8B solar neutrinos at JUNO

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory~(JUNO) features a 20~kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent experiment for 8^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, its high energy resolution compared to water Cherenkov detectors, and its much large target mass compared to previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting 8^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process. A reduced 2~MeV threshold on the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable assuming the intrinsic radioactive background 238^{238}U and 232^{232}Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10−17^{-17}~g/g. With ten years of data taking, about 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the tension between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework. If Δm212=4.8×10−5 (7.5×10−5)Δm^{2}_{21}=4.8\times10^{-5}~(7.5\times10^{-5})~eV2^{2}, JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at the about 3σσ~(2σσ) level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moveover, JUNO can simultaneously measure Δm212Δm^2_{21} using 8^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20\% or better depending on the central value and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos. A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help elucidate the current tension between the value of Δm212Δm^2_{21} reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.

Revisiting the Ω(2012)Ω(2012) as a hadronic molecule and its strong decays

Recently, the Belle collaboration measured the ratios of the branching fractions of the newly observed Ω(2012)Ω(2012) excited state. They did not observe significant signals for the Ω(2012)→KˉΞ∗(1530)→KˉπΞΩ(2012) \to \bar{K} Ξ^*(1530) \to \bar{K} πΞ decay, and reported an upper limit for the ratio of the three body decay to the two body decay mode of Ω(2012)→KˉΞΩ(2012) \to \bar{K} Ξ. In this work, we revisit the newly observed Ω(2012)Ω(2012) from the molecular perspective where this resonance appears to be a dynamically generated state with spin-parity 3/2−3/2^- from the coupled channels interactions of the KˉΞ∗(1530)\bar{K} Ξ^*(1530) and ηΩηΩ in ss-wave and KˉΞ\bar{K} Ξ in dd-wave. With the model parameters for the dd-wave interaction, we show that the ratio of these decay fractions reported recently by the Belle collaboration can be easily accommodated.

Search for the D∗Dˉ∗D^*\bar{D}^* molecular state Zc(4000)Z_c(4000) in the reaction B−→J/ψρ0K−B^{-} \rightarrow J/ψρ^0 K^{-}

Based on the prediction of a D∗Dˉ∗D^*\bar{D}^* molecular state Zc(4000)Z_c(4000) with isospin I=1I=1 in the coupled channel approach, we suggest to search for this state in the reaction B−→J/ψρ0K−B^- \to J/ψρ^0 K^-. By taking into account the final state interactions of J/ψρJ/ψρ and D∗0Dˉ∗0D^{*0}\bar{D}^{*0}, and the contribution from the K1(1270)K_1(1270) resonance, we find that the J/ψρJ/ψρ mass distribution shows a peak around 4000~MeV, which could be associated to the D∗Dˉ∗D^*\bar{D}^* molecular state Zc(4000)Z_c(4000). Searching for the Zc(4000)Z_c(4000) in the reaction B−→J/ψρ0K−B^- \to J/ψρ^0 K^- is crucial to understand the internal structures of the exotic hadrons, and our predictions can be tested by the Belle II and LHCb in future.

Signatures of the two K1(1270)K_1(1270) poles in D+→νe+VPD^+\to νe^+ V P decay

We analyze theoretically the D+→νe+ρKˉD^+\to νe^+ ρ\bar K and D+→νe+Kˉ∗πD^+\to νe^+ \bar K^* π decays to see the feasibility to check the double pole nature of the axial-vector resonance K1(1270)K_1(1270) predicted by the unitary extensions of chiral perturbation theory (UChPT). Indeed, within UChPT the K1(1270)K_1(1270) is dynamically generated from the interaction of a vector and a pseudoscalar meson, and two poles are obtained for the quantum numbers of this resonance. The lower mass pole couples dominantly to K∗πK^*π and the higher mass pole to ρKρK, therefore we can expect that different reactions weighing differently these channels in the production mechanisms enhance one or the other pole. We show that the different final VPVP channels in D+→νe+VPD^+\to νe^+ V P weigh differently both poles, and this is reflected in the shape of the final vector-pseudoscalar invariant mass distributions. Therefore, we conclude that these decays are suitable to distinguish experimentally the predicted double pole of the K1(1270)K_1(1270) resonance.

TAO Conceptual Design Report: A Precision Measurement of the Reactor Antineutrino Spectrum with Sub-percent Energy Resolution

The Taishan Antineutrino Observatory (TAO, also known as JUNO-TAO) is a satellite experiment of the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO). A ton-level liquid scintillator detector will be placed at about 30 m from a core of the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant. The reactor antineutrino spectrum will be measured with sub-percent energy resolution, to provide a reference spectrum for future reactor neutrino experiments, and to provide a benchmark measurement to test nuclear databases. A spherical acrylic vessel containing 2.8 ton gadolinium-doped liquid scintillator will be viewed by 10 m^2 Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) of >50% photon detection efficiency with almost full coverage. The photoelectron yield is about 4500 per MeV, an order higher than any existing large-scale liquid scintillator detectors. The detector operates at -50 degree C to lower the dark noise of SiPMs to an acceptable level. The detector will measure about 2000 reactor antineutrinos per day, and is designed to be well shielded from cosmogenic backgrounds and ambient radioactivities to have about 10% background-to-signal ratio. The experiment is expected to start operation in 2022.

The ϕ(2170)ϕ(2170) production in the process γp→ηϕpγp\to ηϕp

We have studied the γp→ηϕpγp\to ηϕp reaction within the effective Lagrangian approach, and our results show that there may be a peak, at least a bump structure around 2180 MeV associated to the resonance ϕ(2170)ϕ(2170) in the ηϕηϕ mass distribution. We suggest to search for the resonance ϕ(2170)ϕ(2170) in this reaction, which would be helpful to shed light on its nature.

The role of X(4140)X(4140) and X(4160)X(4160) in the reactions of B+→J/ψϕK+B^+ \to J/ψϕK^+

We have studied the J/ψϕJ/ψϕ mass distribution of the process B+→J/ψϕK+B^+\to J/ψϕK^+ from the threshold to about 4250 MeV, by considering the contribution of the X(4140)X(4140) with a narrow width, together with the X(4160)X(4160) state. Our results show that the cusp structure at the Ds∗Dˉs∗D^*_s\bar{D}^*_s threshold is tied to the molecular nature of the X(4160)X(4160) state.

The X(4140)X(4140) and X(4160)X(4160) resonances in the e+e−→γJ/ψϕe^+e^-\to γJ/ψϕ reaction

We investigate the J/ψϕJ/ψϕ invariant mass distribution of the e+e−→γJ/ψϕe^+e^-\to γJ/ψϕ reaction at a center of mass energy of s=4.6\sqrt{s}=4.6~GeV measured by the BESIII collaboration, who concludes that no significant signals are observed for e+e−→γX(4140)e^+e^- \to γX(4140) because of the low statistics. We show, however, that the three bump structures in the J/ψϕJ/ψϕ invariant mass distribution, though given only by three data points, are compatible with the existence of the X(4140)X(4140) state, appearing as a peak, and a strong cusp structure at the Ds∗Dˉs∗D^*_s\bar{D}^*_s threshold, resulting from the molecular nature of the X(4160)X(4160) state, which also provides a substantial contribution to the reaction. This is consistent with our previous analysis on the B+→J/ψϕK+B^+\to J/ψϕK^+ decay measured by the LHCb collaboration. We strongly call for the measurement of this process with more statistics to further pin down the nature of the X(4140)X(4140) and X(4160)X(4160) resonances.

χc0(1P)χ_{c0}(1P) decay into Σˉ Σπ\barΣ~Σπ in search of an I=1I=1, 1/2−1/2^- baryon state around KˉN\bar K N threshold

We present the theoretical study of the process χc0(1P)→ΣˉΣπχ_{c0}(1P)\to\barΣΣπ decay, by taking into account the πΣπΣ and πΣˉπ\barΣ final state interactions of the final meson-baryon pair based on the chiral unitary approach. We show that the process filters the isospin I=1I=1 in the πΣπΣ channel and offers a reaction to test the existence of an I=1I=1 state with strangeness S=−1S=-1 and spin-parity Jp=1/2−J^p=1/2^- around the KˉN\bar KN threshold predicted by some theories and supported by some experiments.

A hidden-charm pentaquark state in Λb0→J/ψpπ−Λ^0_b \to J/ψp π^- decay

We study here the Λb0→J/ψpπ−Λ_b^0 \to J/ψp π^- reaction in analogy to the Λb0→J/ψpK−Λ^0_b \to J/ψp K^- one, and we note that in both decays there is a sharp structure (dip or peak) in the J/ψpJ/ψp mass distribution around 44504450 MeV, which is associated in the Λb0→J/ψpK−Λ^0_b \to J/ψp K^- experiment to an exotic pentaquark baryonic state, although in Λb0→J/ψpπ−Λ_b^0 \to J/ψp π^- it shows up with relatively low statistics. We analyze the Λb0→J/ψpπ−Λ^0_b \to J/ψp π^- interaction along the same lines as the Λb0→J/ψpK−Λ^0_b \to J/ψp K^- one, with the main difference stemming from the reduced Cabibbo strength in the former and the consideration of the π−pπ^-p final state interaction instead of the K−pK^-p one. We find that with a minimal input, introducing the π−pπ^-p and J/ψpJ/ψp interaction in SS-wave with realistic interactions, and the empirical PP-wave and DD-wave contributions, one can accomplish a qualitative description of the π−pπ^-p and J/ψpJ/ψp mass distributions. More importantly, the peak structure followed by a dip of the experimental J/ψpJ/ψp mass distribution is reproduced with the same input as used to describe the data of Λb0→J/ψpK−Λ^0_b\rightarrow J/ψp K^- reaction. The repercussion for the triangular singularity mechanism, invoked in some works to explain the pentaquark peak, is discussed.

Excited bottom and bottom-strange mesons in the quark model

In order to understand the possible qqˉq\bar{q} quark-model assignments of the BJ(5840)B_J(5840) and BJ(5960)B_J(5960) recently reported by the LHCb Collaboration, we evaluate mass spectra, strong decays, and radiative decays of bottom and bottom-strange mesons in a nonrelativistic quark model. Comparing these predictions with the relevant experimental results, we suggest that the BJ(5840)B_J(5840) and BJ(5960)B_J(5960) can be identified as the B(21S0)B(2^1S_0) and B(13D3)B(1^3D_3), respectively, and the B(5970)B(5970) reported by the CDF Collaboration can be interpreted as the B(23S1)B(2^3S_1) or B(13D3)B(1^3D_3). Further precise measurements of the width, spin and decay modes of the B(5970)B(5970) are needed to distinguish these two assignments. These predictions of bottom and bottom-strange mesons can provide useful information to further experimental investigations.

Role of Y(4630)Y(4630) in the ppˉ→ΛcΛˉcp\bar{p}\rightarrowΛ_c\barΛ_c reaction near threshold

We investigate the charmed baryon production reaction ppˉ→ΛcΛˉcp\bar{p}\rightarrowΛ_c\barΛ_c in an effective Lagrangian approach. Besides the tt-channel D0D^0 and D∗0D^{*0} mesons exchanges, the ss-channel Y(4630)Y(4630) meson exchange is taken into account. For the total cross sections, the D0D^0 and D∗0D^{*0} mesons provide minor background contributions, while the Y(4630)Y(4630) state gives a clear peak structure with the magnitude of 10 μμb at center of mass energy 4.63 GeV. Basing on the results, we suggest that the reaction of ppˉ→ΛcΛˉcp\bar{p}\rightarrowΛ_c\barΛ_c can be used to search for the 1−−1^{--} charmonium-like Y(4630)Y(4630) state, and our predictions can be tested in future by the PˉANDA\rm{\bar PANDA} facility.

Strong decays of the X(2500)X(2500) newly observed by the BESIII Collaboration

Basing on the observation of a new JPC=0−+J^{PC}=0^{-+} state, X(2500)X(2500), in the partial wave analysis of the decay J/ψ→γX→γϕϕJ/ψ\rightarrowγX\rightarrow γϕϕ performed by the BESIII Collaboration, we have evaluated the strong decays of the X(2500)X(2500) as the 41S04^1S_0 and 51S05^1S_0 ssˉs\bar{s} states in the 3P0^3P_0 meson decay model. The predicted total decay width for the 41S04^1S_0 ssˉs\bar{s} is about 894.5 MeV, and the one for the 51S05^1S_0 ssˉs\bar{s} is about 271.1 MeV, which is in agreement with the experimental data ΓX(2500)=230−35−33+64+56Γ_{X(2500)}=230^{+64+56}_{-35-33} MeV. By considering the mass and the total strong decay width of the X(2500)X(2500), we propose that the X(2500)X(2500) state can be interpreted as a candidate of the 51S05^1S_0 ssˉs\bar{s} state.

The Λb→J/ψK0ΛΛ_{b}\rightarrow J/ψK^{0}Λ reaction and a hidden-charm pentaquark state with strangeness

We study the Λb→J/ψK0ΛΛ_{b}\rightarrow J/ψK^{0}Λ reaction considering both the K0ΛK^{0}Λ interaction with its coupled channels and the J/ψΛJ/ψΛ interaction. The latter is described by taking into account the fact that there are predictions for a hidden-charm state with strangeness that couples to J/ψΛJ/ψΛ. By using the coupling of the resonance to J/ψΛJ/ψΛ from these predictions we show that a neat peak can be observed in the J/ψΛJ/ψΛ invariant mass distribution, rather stable under changes of unknown magnitudes. In some cases, one finds a dip structure associated to that state, but a signal of the state shows up in the J/ψJ/ψ spectrum.

Weak decays of heavy hadrons into dynamically generated resonances

In this review we give a perspective of the theoretical work done recently on the interpretation of results from BB, DD, ΛbΛ_b, ΛcΛ_c weak decays into final states that contain interacting hadrons, and how it is possible to obtain additional valuable information that is increasing our understanding of hadron interactions and the nature of many hadronic resonances. The novelty of these processes is that one begins with a clean picture at the quark level which allows one to select the basic mechanisms by means of which the process proceeds. Finally, one has a final state described in terms of quarks. To make contact with the experiments, where mesons and baryons are observed, one must hadronize, creating pairs of qqˉq \bar q and writing the new states in terms of mesons and baryons. This concludes the primary hadron production in these processes. After that, the interaction of these hadrons takes place, offering a rich spectrum of resonances and special features from where it is possible to learn much about the interaction of these hadrons and the nature of many resonances in terms of the components of their wave functions.

Baryon resonances in the strangeness production

We have studied the N∗(2120)N^*(2120), Δ∗(1940)Δ^*(1940), and the possible Σ∗(1380)Σ^*(1380) resonances in the γp→K+Λ(1520)γp \to K^+ Λ(1520), pp→nK+Σ(1385)pp \to n K^+ Σ(1385), and Λp→Λpπ0Λp \to Λp π^0 reactions within the resonance model and the effective Lagrangian approach. It is shown that when the contributions from these baryonic states were considered, the current experimental measurement could be well reproduced. In addition, we also demonstrate that the angular distributions provide direct information of these reactions, which could be useful for the investigation of those states and may be tested by future experiments.

Looking for a hidden-charm pentaquark state with strangeness S=−1S=-1 from Ξb−Ξ^-_b decay into J/ψK−ΛJ/ψK^- Λ

Assuming that the recently observed hidden-charm pentaquark state, Pc(4450)P_c(4450), is of molecular nature as predicted in the unitary approach, we propose to study the decay of Ξb−→J/ψK−ΛΞ^-_b\rightarrow J/ψK^- Λ to search for the strangeness counterpart of the Pc(4450)P_c(4450). There are three ingredients in the decay mechanism: the weak decay mechanism, the hadronization mechanism, and the finite state interactions in the meson-baryon system of strangeness S=−2S=-2 and isospin I=1/2I=1/2 and of the J/ψΛJ/ψΛ. All these have been tested extensively. As a result, we provide a genuine prediction of the differential cross section where a strangeness hidden-charm pentaquark state, the counterpart of the Pc(4450)P_c(4450), can be clearly seen. The decay rate is estimated to be of similar magnitude as the Λb0→J/ψK−pΛ_b^0\rightarrow J/ψK^- p observed by the LHCb collaboration.

Re-analysis of the Λ(1520)Λ(1520) photoproduction reaction

Based on previous studies that support the important role of the N∗(2120)D13N^*(2120) D_{13} resonance in the γp→K+Λ(1520)γp \to K^+ Λ(1520) reaction, we make a re-analysis of this Λ(1520)Λ(1520) photoproduction reaction taking into account the recent CLAS differential cross-section data. In addition to the contact, t−t-channel Kˉ\bar K exchange, s−s-channel nucleon pole and N∗(2120)N^*(2120) [previously called N∗(2080)N^*(2080)] resonance contributions, which have been already considered in previous works, we also study the u−u-channel Λ(1115)Λ(1115) hyperon pole term. The latter mechanism has always been ignored in all theoretical analysis, which has mostly relied on the very forward K+K^+ angular LEPS data. It is shown that when the contributions from the N∗(2120)N^*(2120) resonance and the Λ(1115)Λ(1115) hyperon are taken into account, both the new CLAS and the previous LEPS data can be simultaneously described. We also show that the contribution from the u−u-channel Λ(1115)Λ(1115) pole term produces an enhancement for large K+K^+ angles, and it becomes more and more relevant as the photon energy increases, being essential to describe the CLAS differential cross sections at backward angles. Furthermore, we find that the new CLAS data also favor the existence of the N∗(2120)N^*(2120) resonance, and that these measurements can be used to further constrain its properties.

Regge signatures from forward CLAS Λ(1520)Λ(1520) photoproduction data

The γp→K+Λ(1520)γp \to K^+ Λ(1520) reaction mechanism is investigated within a Regge--effective Lagrangian hybrid approach based on our previous study of this reaction [Physical Review C89, 015203 (2014)]. Near threshold and for large K+K^+ angles, both the CLAS and LEPS data can be successfully described by considering the contributions from the contact, tt-channel Kˉ\bar K exchange, uu-channel Λ(1115)Λ(1115) hyperon pole, and the ss-channel nucleon pole and N∗(2120)N^*(2120) resonance contributions. However, for higher energies and forward K+K^+ angles, systematic discrepancies with data appear, which hint the possible existence of sizable quark-gluon string mechanism effects. We show how the inclusion of a Kˉ\bar K Regge--trajectory exchange in the tt-channel leads to an efficient description of the Λ(1520)Λ(1520) photoproduction channel over the whole energy and angular ranges accessible in the CLAS experiment.

Role of the Δ∗(1940)Δ^*(1940) in the π+p→K+Σ+(1385)π^+ p \to K^+ Σ^+(1385) and pp→nK+Σ+(1385)pp \to n K^+ Σ^+(1385) reactions

The pp→nK+Σ+(1385)p p \to n K^+ Σ^+(1385) reaction is a very good isospin 3/23/2 filter for studying Δ++∗Δ^{++*} resonance decaying to K+Σ+(1385)K^+Σ^+(1385). Within the effective Lagrangian method, we investigate the Σ(1385)Σ(1385) (spin-parity JP=3/2+J^P = 3/2^+) hadronic production in the π+p→K+Σ+(1385)π^+ p \to K^+ Σ^+(1385) and pp→nK+Σ+(1385)p p \to n K^+ Σ^+(1385) reactions. For π+p→K+Σ+(1385)π^+ p \to K^+ Σ^+(1385) reaction, in addition to the "background" contributions from tt-channel K∗0K^{*0} exchange, uu-channel Λ(1115)Λ(1115) and Σ0(1193)Σ^0(1193) exchange, we also consider the contribution from the ss-channel Δ∗(1940)Δ^*(1940) resonance, which has significant coupling to KΣ(1385)KΣ(1385) channel. We show that the inclusion of the Δ∗(1940)Δ^*(1940) resonance leads to a fairly good description of the low energy experimental total cross section data of π+p→K+Σ+(1385)π^+ p \to K^+ Σ^+(1385) reaction. Basing on the study of π+p→K+Σ+(1385)π^+ p \to K^+Σ^+(1385) reaction and with the assumption that the excitation of Δ∗(1940)Δ^*(1940) resonance dominant the pp→nK+Σ+(1385)pp \to n K^+ Σ^+(1385) reaction, we calculate the total and differential cross sections of pp→nK+Σ+(1385)p p \to n K^+ Σ^+(1385) reaction. It is shown that the new experimental data support the important role played by the Δ∗(1940)Δ^*(1940) resonance with a mass in the region of 19401940 MeV and a width of around 200200 MeV. We also demonstrate that the invariant mass distribution and the Dalitz Plot provide direct information of the Σ+(1385)Σ^+(1385) production, which can be tested by future experiments.

Low-lying even parity meson resonances and spin-flavor symmetry revisited

We review and extend the model derived in Phys. Rev. D83 016007 (2011) to address the dynamics of the low-lying even parity meson resonances. This model is based on a coupled channels spin-flavor extension of the chiral Weinberg-Tomozawa Lagrangian. This interaction is then used to study the S-wave meson-meson scattering involving members not only of the π-octet, but also of the ρ-nonet. In this work, we study in detail the structure of the SU(6) symmetry breaking contact terms that respect (or softly break) chiral symmetry. We derive the most general local (without involving derivatives) terms consistent with the chiral symmetry breaking pattern of QCD. After introducing sensible simplifications to reduce the large number of possible operators, we carry out a phenomenological discussion of the effects of these terms. We show how the inclusion of these pieces leads to an improvement of the description of J^P = 2^+ sector, without spoiling the main features of the predictions obtained in the original model in the J^P = 0^+ and J^P = 1^+ sectors. In particular, we find a significantly better description of the I^G(J^{PC})=0^+(2^{++}), 1^-(2^{++}) and the I(J^{P})=\frac{1}{2}(2^{+}) sectors, which correspond to the f_2(1270), a_2(1320) and K^*_2(1430) quantum numbers, respectively.

The role of N∗(2120)N^*(2120) nucleon resonance in KΛ(1520)KΛ(1520) photon and hadronic productions

The associate KΛ(1520)KΛ(1520) photon and hadronic production in the γp→K+Λ(1520)γp \to K^+Λ(1520), pp→pK+Λ(1520)p p \to p K^+ Λ(1520) and π−p→K0Λ(1520)π^- p \to K^0 Λ(1520) reactions are investigated within the effective Lagrangian approach and the isobar model. We are interested in the contribution from the N∗(2120)N^*(2120) (previously called N∗(2080)N^*(2080)) resonance, which has a significant coupling to the KΛ(1520)KΛ(1520) channel. The theoretical results show that the current experimental data for the γp→K+Λ(1520)γp \to K^+Λ(1520) reaction favor the existence of the N∗(2120)N^*(2120) resonance, and that these measurements can be used to further constrain its properties. We present results, including the N∗(2120)N^*(2120) contribution, for total cross sections of the γp→K+Λ(1520)γp \to K^+Λ(1520), π−p→K0Λ(1520)π^- p \to K^0 Λ(1520), and pp→pK+Λ(1520)p p \to p K^+ Λ(1520) reactions. For this latter one, we also calculate invariant mass and Dalitz plot distributions.
