Role of $Σ(1660)$ in the $K^- p \toπ^0π^0Σ^0$ reaction

The processes of $K^-p \to π^0 π^0 Σ^0$ and $K^- p \to π^0 Λ(1405)$ are studied within the effective Lagrangian approach. In addition to the ``background" contribution from the $u$-channel nucleon pole term, contribution from the $Σ(1660)$ resonance with spin-parity $J^P=1/2^+$ is also considered. For the $K^-p \to π^0 π^0 Σ^0$ reaction, we perform a calculation for the total and differential cross sections by considering the contribution from the $Σ(1660)$ intermediate resonance decaying into $π^0 Λ(1405)$ with $Λ(1405)$ decaying into $π^0 Σ^0$. With our model parameters, the available experimental data on both the $K^-p \to π^0 π^0 Σ^0$ and $K^- p \to π^0 Λ(1405)$ reactions can be fairly well reproduced. It is shown that we really need the contribution from the $Σ(1660)$ resonance, and that these experimental measurements could be used to determine some properties of the $Σ(1660)$ resonance.

The roles of the $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0$ and $D_0^*(2300)$ in the process $B^-\to D_s^+K^-π^-$

Motivated by the recent LHCb observations of $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0$ and $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++}$ in the processes $B^0\to\bar{D}^0D_s^+π^-$ and $B^+\to D^-D_s^+π^+$, we have investigated the decay $B^-\to D_s^+K^-π^-$ by taking into account the contributions from the $S$-wave vector-vector interactions, and the $S$-wave $D^+_s K^-$ interactions. Our results show that the $D_s^+K^-$ invariant mass distribution has an enhancement structure near the threshold, associated with the $D^*_0(2300)$, which is in good agreement with the Belle measurements. We have also predicted the $D^+_sπ^-$ invariant mass distribution and the Dalitz plot, which show the significant signal of the $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)$. With the same formalism, the $D^-_sK^0_s$ invariant mass distribution of the process $B^0 \to D^-_sK^0_sπ^+$ measured by Belle could be well reproduced, and the peak of $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)$ is expected to be observed around 2900~MeV in the $D^-_sπ^+$ invariant mass distribution. Our results could be tested by the Belle II and LHCb experiments in the future.

Mass spectra and decay properties of the higher excited $ρ$ mesons

Although there are some experimental hints for the higher excited $ρ$ mesons, our knowledge of their properties is much poor theoretically. Based on our recent work about excited $ρ$ mesons [Phys.Rev.D104(2021)034013], we present the mass spectra and decay properties of the higher excited $ρ$ mesons with the modified Godfrey-Isgur quark model and the $^3P_0$ strong decay model, and compare our predictions with the experimental hints, which should be helpful to search for these higher excited $ρ$ mesons.

Research on the Phase space of three- and four-body final states process

The analytical formulae for the phase space factors and the three-momenta of three- and four-body final states are derived for all sets of independent kinematic variables containing invariant mass variables. These formulae will help experimental physicist to perform the data analysis. As an example, we show how to use these formulae to distinguish the different mechanisms of $e+p\to e+J/ψ+ p$ process for searching the signals of $P_c$ states at the energy region of Electron-Ion collider at China (EicC).

The possible assignments of the scalar $K_0^*(1950)$ and $K_0^*(2130)$ within the $^3P_0$ model

We have evaluated the strong decays of the $K_0^*(1950)$ and $K_0^*(2130)$ within the $^3P_0$ model, by employing the meson wave functions from the relativized quark model. By comparing with the experimental measurements, the $K_0^*(2130)$ could be assigned as $K_0^*(3^3P_0)$, while the $K_0^*(1950)$ seems like an exotic state, because its width can not be reasonably reproduced within the $^3P_0$ model. We also predict that the $K_0^*(2^3P_0)$ state has a mass of about $1811$ MeV and a width of about $656$ MeV, while the $K_0^*(4^3P_0)$ state has a mass of about $2404$ MeV and a width of about $180$ MeV.

Theoretical study of the process $D^+_s \to π^+ K^0_S K^0_S$ and the isovector partner of $f_0(1710)$

We present a theoretical study of $a_0(1710)$, the isovector partner of $f_0(1710)$, in the process $D^+_s \to π^+ K^0_SK^0_S$. The weak interaction part proceeds through the charm quark decay process: $c(\bar{s}) \to (s + \bar{d} + u)(\bar{s})$, while the hadronization part takes place in two mechanisms, differing in how the quarks from the weak decay combines into $πK^*$ with a quark-antiquark pair $q\bar{q}$ with the vacuum quantum numbers. In addition to the contribution from the tree diagram of the $K^{*+} \to π^+ K^0_S$, we have also considered the $K^*\bar{K}^*$ final-state interactions within the chiral unitary approach to generate the intermediate state $a_0(1710)$, then it decays into the final states $K^0_SK^0_S$. We find that the recent experimental measurements on the $K^0_SK^0_S$ and $π^+K^0_S$ invariant mass distributions can be well reproduced, and the proposed mechanism can provide valuable information on the nature of scalar $f_0(1710)$ and its isovector partner $a_0(1710)$.

Photoproduction $γp \to K^+Λ(1520)$ in an effective Lagrangian approach

The data on differential cross sections and photon-beam asymmetries for the $γp \to K^+Λ(1520)$ reaction have been analyzed within a tree-level effective Lagrangian approach. In addition to the $t$-channel $K$ and $K^\ast$ exchanges, the $u$-channel $Λ$ exchange, the $s$-channel nucleon exchange, and the interaction current, a minimal number of nucleon resonances in the $s$ channel are introduced in constructing the reaction amplitudes to describe the data. The results show that the experimental data can be well reproduced by including either the $N(2060)5/2^-$ or the $N(2120)3/2^-$ resonance. In both cases, the contact term and the $K$ exchange are found to make significant contributions, while the contributions from the $K^\ast$ and $Λ$ exchanges are negligible in the former case and considerable in the latter case. Measurements of the data on target asymmetries are called on to further pin down the resonance contents and to clarify the roles of the $K^\ast$ and $Λ$ exchanges in this reaction.

The resonances $X(4140)$, $X(4160)$, and $P_{cs}(4459)$ in the decay of $Λ_b\to J/ψΛϕ$

We study the decay of $Λ_b\to J/ψΛϕ$ by taking into account the intermediate resonances $X(4140)$, $X(4160)$, and $P_{cs}(4459)$. In addition to the peak of the $X(4140)$, we also find a bump structure around 4160 MeV followed by a cusp structure around $D^*_s\bar{D}^*_s$ threshold in the $J/ψϕ$ invariant mass distribution of the $Λ_b\to J/ψΛϕ$ process, which can be associated to the $D^*_s\bar{D}^*_s$ molecular state $X(4160)$. We also show that this reaction can also be used to confirm the existence of the hidden-charm pentaquark $P_{cs}(4459)$ with strangeness. We predict an enhancement structure close to the threshold in the $D^*_s\bar{D}^*_s$ invariant mass distribution of the $Λ_b\to D^*_s\bar{D}^*_sΛ$ process, which is the reflection of the $X(4160)$ and should not be misidentified with a new resonance. We strongly suggest experimentalists to further measure these processes, which can be useful to clarify the nature of $X(4140)$ and $X(4160)$ resonances, and to confirm the existence of the $P_{cs}(4459)$.

Weak decays of doubly heavy baryons: four-body nonleptonic decay channels

The LHCb Collaboration announced the observation of doubly charmed baryon through $Ξ_{c c}^{++} \rightarrow Λ_{c}^{+} K^{-} π^{+} π^{+}$ in 2017. Since then, a series of studies of doubly heavy baryons have been presented. $Ξ_{cc}^{++}$ was discovered through nonleptonic four-body decay mode, and experimental data has indicated that the decay modes of $Ξ_{c c}^{++}$ are not saturated by two and three-body intermediate states. In this work, we analyze the four-body weak decays of doubly heavy baryons $Ξ_{cc}^{++}, Ξ_{cc}^+$, and $Ω_{cc}^+$. Decay amplitudes for various channels are parametrized in terms of SU(3) irreducible amplitudes. We point out that branching fractions for Cabibbo-allowed processes $Ξ_{cc}^{+}\toΛ_c^+π^+ π^0 K^-$, $Ω_{cc}^{+}\toΛ_c^+π^+ \overline K^0 K^-$ would be helpful to search for $Ξ_{cc}^+$ and $Ω_{cc}^+$ in future measurements at experimental facilities like LHC, Belle II, and CEPC.

Analysis of the data on spin density matrix elements for $γp \to K^{*+}Λ$

In our previous work [Phys. Rev. C {\bf 96}, 035206 (2017)], the high-precision differential cross-section data for $γp \to K^{*+}Λ$ reported by the CLAS Collaboration has been analyzed within an effective Lagrangian approach. It was found that apart from the $t$-channel $K$, $K^*$, and $κ$ exchanges, the $u$-channel $Λ$, $Σ$, and $Σ^*$ exchanges, the $s$-channel $N$ exchange, and the interaction current, one needs to introduce at least two nucleon resonances in the $s$ channel in constructing the reaction amplitudes to describe the cross-section data. One of the needed resonances is $N(2060)5/2^-$, and the other one could be one of the $N(2000)5/2^+$, $N(2040)3/2^+$, $N(2100)1/2^+$, $N(2120)3/2^-$, and $N(2190)7/2^-$ resonances. In this paper, we further include in our analysis the data on spin density matrix elements for $K^*$ meson reported recently by the CLAS Collaboration, with the purpose being to impose further constraints on extracting the resonance contents and to gain a better understanding of the reaction mechanism. It turns out that with the new data on spin density matrix elements taken into account, only the set with the $N(2060)5/2^-$ and $N(2000)5/2^+$ resonances among those five possible solutions extracted from the analysis of the differential cross-section data can satisfactorily describe the data on both the differential cross sections and the spin density matrix elements. Further analysis shows that this reaction is dominated by the $t$-channel $K$ exchange and $s$-channel $N(2060)5/2^-$ and $N(2000)5/2^+$ exchanges.

Canonical interpretation of the $X(4140)$ state within the $^3P_0$ model

Recently, the LHCb Collaboration has confirmed the state $X(4140)$, with a mass $M=4146.5\pm 4.5^{+4.6}_{-2.8}$~MeV, and a much larger width $Γ=83\pm21^{+21}_{-14}$~MeV than the previous experimental measurements, which has confused the understanding of its nature. We will investigate the possibility of the $χ_{c1}(3P)$ interpretation for the $X(4140)$, considering the mass spectra predicted in the quark model, and the strong decay properties within the $^3P_0$ model. We also predict the strong decay properties of the charmonium states $χ_{c0}(3P)$ and $χ_{c2}(3P)$. Our results show that the $X(4140)$ state with the small width given in PDG can be explained as the charmonium state $χ_{c1}(3P)$ in the $^3P_0$ model, and high precision measurement of the width of the $X(4140)$ is crucial to understand its nature.

Enhancement near the $\bar{p}Λ$ threshold in the $χ_{c0}\to \bar{p}K^+Λ$ reaction

We have analyzed the reaction $χ_{c0}\to \bar{p} K^+Λ$ reported by the BESIII Collaboration, taking into account the contributions from the intermediate $K(1830)$, $N(2300)$, and $Λ(1520)$ resonances. Our results are in good agreement with the BESIII measurements, and it is found that the anomalous enhancement near the $\bar{p}Λ$ threshold is mainly due to the contribution of the $K(1830)$ resonance. We also show that the interference of the high-mass $N^*$ and $Λ^*$ can not produce the anomalous enhancement near the $\bar{p}Λ$ threshold.

Search for the $D^*\bar{D}^*$ molecular state $Z_c(4000)$ in the reaction $B^{-} \rightarrow J/ψρ^0 K^{-}$

Based on the prediction of a $D^*\bar{D}^*$ molecular state $Z_c(4000)$ with isospin $I=1$ in the coupled channel approach, we suggest to search for this state in the reaction $B^- \to J/ψρ^0 K^-$. By taking into account the final state interactions of $J/ψρ$ and $D^{*0}\bar{D}^{*0}$, and the contribution from the $K_1(1270)$ resonance, we find that the $J/ψρ$ mass distribution shows a peak around 4000~MeV, which could be associated to the $D^*\bar{D}^*$ molecular state $Z_c(4000)$. Searching for the $Z_c(4000)$ in the reaction $B^- \to J/ψρ^0 K^-$ is crucial to understand the internal structures of the exotic hadrons, and our predictions can be tested by the Belle II and LHCb in future.

The Collins asymmetry in electroproduction of Kaon at the electron ion colliders within TMD factorization

We apply the transverse momentum dependent factorization formalism to investigate the transverse single spin dependent Collins asymmetry with a $\sin(ϕ_h+ϕ_s)$ modulation in the semi-inclusive production of Kaon meson in deep inelastic scattering process. The asymmetry is contributed by the convolutions of the transversity distribution function $h_1(x)$ of the target proton and the Collins function of the Kaon in the final state. We adopt the available parametrization of $h_1(x)$ as well as the recent extracted result for the Kaon Collins function. To perform the transverse momentum dependent evolution, the parametrization of the nonperturbative Sudakov form factor of the proton and final state Kaon are utilized. We numerically predict the Collins asymmetry for charged Kaon production at the electron ion colliders within the accuracy of next-to-leading-logarithmic order. It is found that the asymmetry is sizable and could be measured. We emphasize the importance of planned electron ion colliders in the aspect of constraining sea quark distribution functions as well as accessing the information of the nucleon spin structure and the hadronization mechanism.

A hidden-charm pentaquark state in $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp π^-$ decay

We study here the $Λ_b^0 \to J/ψp π^-$ reaction in analogy to the $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp K^-$ one, and we note that in both decays there is a sharp structure (dip or peak) in the $J/ψp$ mass distribution around $4450$ MeV, which is associated in the $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp K^-$ experiment to an exotic pentaquark baryonic state, although in $Λ_b^0 \to J/ψp π^-$ it shows up with relatively low statistics. We analyze the $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp π^-$ interaction along the same lines as the $Λ^0_b \to J/ψp K^-$ one, with the main difference stemming from the reduced Cabibbo strength in the former and the consideration of the $π^-p$ final state interaction instead of the $K^-p$ one. We find that with a minimal input, introducing the $π^-p$ and $J/ψp$ interaction in $S$-wave with realistic interactions, and the empirical $P$-wave and $D$-wave contributions, one can accomplish a qualitative description of the $π^-p$ and $J/ψp$ mass distributions. More importantly, the peak structure followed by a dip of the experimental $J/ψp$ mass distribution is reproduced with the same input as used to describe the data of $Λ^0_b\rightarrow J/ψp K^-$ reaction. The repercussion for the triangular singularity mechanism, invoked in some works to explain the pentaquark peak, is discussed.

Excited bottom and bottom-strange mesons in the quark model

In order to understand the possible $q\bar{q}$ quark-model assignments of the $B_J(5840)$ and $B_J(5960)$ recently reported by the LHCb Collaboration, we evaluate mass spectra, strong decays, and radiative decays of bottom and bottom-strange mesons in a nonrelativistic quark model. Comparing these predictions with the relevant experimental results, we suggest that the $B_J(5840)$ and $B_J(5960)$ can be identified as the $B(2^1S_0)$ and $B(1^3D_3)$, respectively, and the $B(5970)$ reported by the CDF Collaboration can be interpreted as the $B(2^3S_1)$ or $B(1^3D_3)$. Further precise measurements of the width, spin and decay modes of the $B(5970)$ are needed to distinguish these two assignments. These predictions of bottom and bottom-strange mesons can provide useful information to further experimental investigations.

Role of $Y(4630)$ in the $p\bar{p}\rightarrowΛ_c\barΛ_c$ reaction near threshold

We investigate the charmed baryon production reaction $p\bar{p}\rightarrowΛ_c\barΛ_c$ in an effective Lagrangian approach. Besides the $t$-channel $D^0$ and $D^{*0}$ mesons exchanges, the $s$-channel $Y(4630)$ meson exchange is taken into account. For the total cross sections, the $D^0$ and $D^{*0}$ mesons provide minor background contributions, while the $Y(4630)$ state gives a clear peak structure with the magnitude of 10 $μ$b at center of mass energy 4.63 GeV. Basing on the results, we suggest that the reaction of $p\bar{p}\rightarrowΛ_c\barΛ_c$ can be used to search for the $1^{--}$ charmonium-like $Y(4630)$ state, and our predictions can be tested in future by the $\rm{\bar PANDA}$ facility.

Strong decays of the $X(2500)$ newly observed by the BESIII Collaboration

Basing on the observation of a new $J^{PC}=0^{-+}$ state, $X(2500)$, in the partial wave analysis of the decay $J/ψ\rightarrowγX\rightarrow γϕϕ$ performed by the BESIII Collaboration, we have evaluated the strong decays of the $X(2500)$ as the $4^1S_0$ and $5^1S_0$ $s\bar{s}$ states in the $^3P_0$ meson decay model. The predicted total decay width for the $4^1S_0$ $s\bar{s}$ is about 894.5 MeV, and the one for the $5^1S_0$ $s\bar{s}$ is about 271.1 MeV, which is in agreement with the experimental data $Γ_{X(2500)}=230^{+64+56}_{-35-33}$ MeV. By considering the mass and the total strong decay width of the $X(2500)$, we propose that the $X(2500)$ state can be interpreted as a candidate of the $5^1S_0$ $s\bar{s}$ state.

Near-threshold $η$ production in $pp$ collisions

We study near-threshold $η$ meson production in $pp$ collisions within an effective Lagrangian approach combined with the isobar model, by allowing for the various intermediate nucleon resonances due to the $π$, $η$, and $ρ$-meson exchanges. It is shown that the $ρ$-meson exchange is the dominant excitation mechanism for these resonances, and the contribution from the $N^*(1720)$ is dominant. The total cross section data can be reasonably reproduced, and the anisotropic angular distributions of the emitted $η$ meson are consistent with experimental measurements. Besides, the invariant mass spectra of $pp$ and $pη$ explain the data well at excess energy of 15 MeV, and are basically consistent with the data at excess energy of 40 MeV. However, our model calculations cannot reasonably account for the two-peak structure in the $pη$ distribution at excess energies of 57 and 72 MeV, which suggests that a more complicated mechanism is needed at higher energy region.

Nucleon resonances in the $γp \to ϕK^+ Λ$ reaction near threshold

We investigate the $γp \to ϕK^+ Λ$ reaction near threshold within an effective Lagrangian approach and the isobar model. Various nucleon resonances caused by the $π$ and $η$ meson exchanges and background contributions are considered. It is shown that the contribution from the $N^*(1535)$ resonance caused by the $η$ meson exchange plays the predominant role. Hence, this reaction provides a good new platform to study the $N^*(1535)$ resonance. The predicted total cross section and specific features of angular distributions can be tested by future experiments.

Nucleon pole contribution in the $pp\to ppK^+K^-$ reaction below the $ϕ$ meson threshold

Nucleon pole contribution in the $pp\to ppK^+K^-$ reaction below the threshold of the production of the $ϕ$ meson is studied within the effective Lagrangian approach. It is assumed that the $K^- p$ final state originates from the decay of the hyperons $Λ(1115)$ and $Λ(1405)$. In addition to the $pp$ final state interaction (FSI) parametrized using the Jost function, we have also considered the $K^+K^-$ FSI with the techniques of the chiral unitary approach, where the scalar mesons $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ were dynamically generated. Hence, the contributions from scalar mesons $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ occur through the $K^+ K^-$ FSI. It is shown that the available experimental data are well reproduced, especially the total cross sections and the invariant mass distributions of $pp$ and $K^+K^-$. Furthermore, different forms of the couplings (pseudoscalar and pseudovector) for the $πNN$ interaction and different strengths for the proton-proton FSI are also investigated. It is found that the contributions from hyperon $Λ(1115)$ and $Λ(1405)$ are different between these two kinds of couplings. On the other hand, the effects of the proton-proton FSI can be adjusted by the cut off parameters used in the form factors.

Understanding the charmed states recently observed by the LHCb and BaBar Collaborations in the quark model

Comparing the expected spectroscopy in the relativistic quark model and the predicted strong decays in the $^3P_0$ model employing the realistic wave functions from the relativistic quark model with the measured properties of the LHCb and BaBar charmed states, we find that the masses and strong decays of these charmed states can be reasonably explained in the conventional $q\bar{q}$ picture, and therefore suggest that the $D(2550)$/$D_J(2580)$, $D^*(2600)$/$D^*_J(2650)$, $D(2750)$/$D_J(2740)$, $D^*(2760)$/$D^*_J(2760)$, $D_J(3000)$, and $D^*_J(3000)$ can be identified as the $D(2^1S_0)$, $D(2^3S_1)$, $D^\prime_2(1D)$, $D(1^3D_3)$, $D(3^1S_0)$, and $D(1^3F_4)$, respectively.

The near threshold $π^- p \to ηn$ reaction in an effective Lagrangian approach

The near threshold $π^- p \to ηn$ reaction is studied within an effective Lagrangian approach and the isobar model. By considering the contributions from $s$- and $u$-channel nucleon pole and $N^{*}(1535)$ resonance, the total and differential cross sections of the $π^- p \to ηn$ reaction near threshold are calculated. Our theoretical results can fairly reproduce the current experimental data. It is also shown that while the center-of-mass energy lies in the range from the reaction threshold up to $1.65$ GeV, $s$-channel $N^{*}(1535)$ resonance plays the dominant role. The effect from nucleon pole is found to be small but the interference terms between the $N^*(1535)$ resonance and the nucleon pole are significant. The contributions from $t$-channel processes are negligible in the present calculation.

The newly observed open-charm states in quark model

Comparing the measured properties of the newly observed open-charm states D(2550), D(2600), D(2750), D(2760), D_{s1}(2710), D_{sJ}(2860), and D_{sJ}(3040) with our predicted spectroscopy and strong decays in a constituent quark model, we find that: (1) the $D(2\,^1S_0)$ assignment to D(2550) remains open for its too broad width determined by experiment; (2) the D(2600) and $D_{s1}(2710)$ can be identified as the $2\,^3S_1$-$1\,^3D_1$ mixtures; (3) if the D(2760) and D(2750) are indeed the same resonance, they would be the $D(1\,^3D_3)$; otherwise, they could be assigned as the $D(1\,^3D_3)$ and $D^\prime_2(1D)$, respectively; (4) the $D_{sJ}(2860)$ could be either the $D_{s1}(2710)$'s partner or the $D_s(1\,^3D_3)$; and (5) both the $D_{s1}(2P)$ and $D^\prime_{s1}(2P)$ interpretations for the $D_{sJ}(3040)$ seem likely. The $E1$ and $M1$ radiative decays of these sates are also studied. Further experimental efforts are needed to test the present quarkonium assignments for these new open-charm states.

Implication of BaBar's new data on the $D_{s1}(2710)$ and $D_{sJ}(2860)$

The strong decays of the $D_{s1}(2710)$ and $D_{sJ}(2860)$ are investigated in the framework of the $^3P_0$ model. Its decay properties newly reported by the BaBar Collaboration can be reasonably accounted for in the presence of the $D_{s1}(2710)$ being a mixture of the $D_s(2 ^3S_1)$ and $D_s(1 ^3D_1)$. The orthogonal partner of the $D_{s1}(2710)$ is expected to have a mass of about $2.66\sim 2.9$ GeV in quark models and a width of about $40\sim 60$ MeV in the $^3P_0$ model. The predicted decay properties turn out to be consistent with the BaBar's new data in both the orthogonal partner of the $D_{s1}(2710)$ and the $D_s(1 ^3D_3)$ interpretations for the $D_{sJ}(2860)$. The available experimental information is not enough to distinguish these two possibilities. The $E1$ radiative transitions of the $D_{s1}(2710)$ and $D_{sJ}(2860)$ are also studied. We tend to conclude that the $D_{s1}(2710)$ can be identified as a mixture of the $D_s(2 ^3S_1)$ and $D_s(1 ^3D_1)$, and the $D_{sJ}(2860)$ could be either the orthogonal partner of the $D_{s1}(2710)$ or the $D_s(1 ^3D_3)$. Further experimental information on the $D_{sJ}(2860)$ in the $D_sη$, $D^\ast_sη$, and $DK^\ast$ channels is needed.

On the nature of the $π_2(1880)

The strong decays of the $π_2(1880)$ as the $2 ^1D_2$ quark-antiquark state are investigated in the $^3P_0$ model and the flux-tube model, respectively. The results are similar in the two models. It is found that the decay patterns of the conventional $2 ^1D_2$ meson and the $2^{-+}$ light hybrid are very different, and the experimental evidence for the $π_2(1880)$ is consistent with it being the conventional $2 ^1D_2$ meson rather than the $2^{-+}$ light hybrid. The possibility of the $π_2(1880)$ being a mixture of the conventional $q\bar{q}$ and the hybrid is discussed.

Is $f_1(1420)$ the partner of $f_1(1285)$ in the $^3P_1$ $q\bar{q}$ nonet?

Based on a $2\times 2$ mass matrix, the mixing angle of the axial vector states $f_1(1420)$ and $f_1(1285)$ is determined to be $51.5^{\circ}$, and the theoretical results about the decay and production of the two states are presented. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the present experimental results, which suggests that $f_1(1420)$ can be assigned as the partner of $f_1(1285)$ in the $^3P_1$ $q\bar{q}$ nonet. We also suggest that the existence of $f_1(1510)$ needs further experimental confirmation.
