Genuine hidden nonlocality without entanglement: from the perspective of local discrimination

Quantum nonlocality without entanglement is a fantastic phenomenon in quantum theory. This kind of quantum nonlocality is based on the task of local discrimination of quantum states. Recently, Bandyopadhyay and Halder [Phys. Rev. A 104, L050201 (2021)] studied the problem: is there any set of orthogonal states which can be locally distinguishable, but under some orthogonality preserving local measurement, each outcome will lead to a locally indistinguishable set. We say that the set with such property has hidden nonlocality. Moreover, if such phenomenon can not arise from discarding subsystems which is termed as local irredundancy, we call it genuine hidden nonlocality. There, they presented several sets of entangled states with genuine hidden nonlocality. However, they doubted the existence of a set without entanglement but with genuine hidden nonlocality. In this paper, we eliminate this doubt by constructing a series of sets without entanglement but whose nonlocality can be genuinely activated. We derive a method to tackle with the local irredundancy problem which is a key tricky for the systems whose local dimensions are composite numbers. As Bandyopadhyay and Halder have been pointed out, sets with genuine hidden nonloclity would lead to some applications on the data hiding.

Monogamy relations and upper bounds for the generalized $W$-class states using Rényi-$α$ entropy

We investigate monogamy relations and upper bounds for generalized $W$-class states related to the Rényi-$α$ entropy. First, we present an analytical formula on Rényi-$α$ entanglement (R$α$E) and Rényi-$α$ entanglement of assistance (REoA) of a reduced density matrix for a generalized $W$-class states. According to the analytical formula, we show monogamy and polygamy relations for generalized $W$-class states in terms of R$α$E and REoA. Then we give the upper bounds for generalized $W$-class states in terms of R$α$E. Next, we provide tighter monogamy relations for generalized $W$-class states in terms of concurrence and convex-roof extended negativity and obtain the monogamy relations for R$α$E by the analytical expression between R$α$E and concurrence. Finally, we apply our results into quantum games and present a new bound of the nonclassicality of quantum games restricting to generalized $W$-class states.

Necessary conditions for classifying m-separability of multipartite entanglements

We study the norms of the Bloch vectors for arbitrary $n$-partite quantum states. A tight upper bound of the norms is derived for $n$-partite systems with different individual dimensions. These upper bounds are used to deal with the separability problems. Necessary conditions are presented for $\mathbf m$-separable states in $n$-partite quantum systems. Based on the upper bounds, classification of multipartite entanglement is illustrated with detailed examples.

Connecting the UMEB in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{d}$ with partial Hadamard matrices

We study the unextendible maximally entangled bases (UMEB) in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{d}$ and connect it with the partial Hadamard matrix. Firstly, we show that for a given special UMEB in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{d}$, there is a partial Hadamard matrix can not extend to a complete Hadamard matrix in $\mathbb{C}^{d}$. As a corollary, any $(d-1)\times d$ partial Hadamard matrix can extend to a complete Hadamard matrix. Then we obtain that for any $d$ there is an UMEB except $d=p\ \text{or}\ 2p$, where $p\equiv 3\mod 4$ and $p$ is a prime. Finally, we argue that there exist different kinds of constructions of UMEB in $\mathbb{C}^{nd}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{nd}$ for any $n\in \mathbb{N}$ and $d=3\times5 \times7$.

On small set of one-way LOCC indistinguishability of maximally entangled states

In this paper, we study the one-way local operations and classical communication (LOCC) problem. In $\mathbb{C}^d\otimes\mathbb{C}^d$ with $d\geq4$, we construct a set of $3\lceil\sqrt{d}\rceil-1$ one-way LOCC indistinguishable maximally entangled states which are generalized Bell states. Moreover, we show that there are four maximally entangled states which cannot be perfectly distinguished by one-way LOCC measurements for any dimension $d\geq 4$.

The local indistinguishability of multipartite product states

In this paper, we mainly study the local indistinguishability of multipartite product states. Firstly, we follow the method of Z.-C. Zhang \emph{et al}[Phys. Rev. A 93, 012314(2016)] to give another more concise set of $2n-1$ orthogonal product states in $\mathbb{C}^m\otimes\mathbb{C}^n(4\leq m\leq n)$ which can not be distinguished by local operations and classical communication(LOCC). Then we use the 3 dimension cubes to present some product states which give us an intuitive view how to construct locally indistinguishable product states in tripartite quantum system. At last, we give an explicit construction of locally indistinguishable orthogonal product states for general multipartite system.

Nonlocality of orthogonal product basis quantum states

We study the local indistinguishability of mutually orthogonal product basis quantum states in the high-dimensional quantum system. In the quantum system of $\mathbb{C}^d\otimes\mathbb{C}^d$, where $d$ is odd, Zhang \emph{et al} have constructed $d^2$ orthogonal product basis quantum states which are locally indistinguishable in [Phys. Rev. A. {\bf 90}, 022313(2014)]. We find a subset contains with $6d-9$ orthogonal product states which are still locally indistinguishable. Then we generalize our method to arbitrary bipartite quantum system $\mathbb{C}^m\otimes\mathbb{C}^n$. We present a small set with only $3(m+n)-9$ orthogonal product states and prove these states are LOCC indistinguishable. Even though these $3(m+n)-9$ product states are LOCC indistinguishable, they can be distinguished by separable measurements. This shows that separable operations are strictly stronger than the local operations and classical communication.

Cluster algebra structure on the finite dimensional representations of $U_q(\widehat{A_{3}})$ for $l$=2

In this paper, we prove one case of the conjecture given by Hernandez and Leclerc\cite{HL0}. Specifically, we give a cluster algebra structure on the Grothendieck ring of a full subcategory of the finite dimensional representations of a simply-laced quantum affine algebra $U_q(\widehat{\g})$. In the procedure, we also give a specific description of compatible subsets of type $E_{6}$. As a conclusion, for every exchange relation of cluster algebra there exists a exact sequence of the full subcategory corresponding to it.

Unextendible maximally entangled bases in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{d'}$

We solved the unextendible maximally entangled basis (UMEB) problem in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\bigotimes\mathbb{C}^{d'}(d\neq d')$,the results turn out to be that there always exist a UMEB.In addition, there might be two sets of UMEB with different numbers. The main difficult is to prove the unextendibility of the set of states. We give an explicit construction of UMEB by considering the Schmidt number of the complementary space of the states we construct.

Two-Loop Superstrings in Hyperelliptic Language I: the Main Results

Following the new gauging fixing method of D'Hoker and Phong, we study two-loop superstrings in hyperelliptic language. By using hyperelliptic representation of genus 2 Riemann surface we derive a set of identities involving the Szegö kernel. These identities are used to prove the vanishing of the cosmological constant and the non-renormalization theorem point-wise in moduli space by doing the summation over all the 10 even spin structures. Modular invariance is maintained at every stage of the computation explicitly. The 4-particle amplitude is also computed and an explicit expression for the chiral integrand is obtained. We use this result to show that the perturbative correction to the $R^4$ term in type II superstring theories is vanishing at two loops. In this paper, a summary of the main results is presented with detailed derivations to be provided in two subsequent publications.

Two-Loop Superstrings in Hyperelliptic Language II: the Vanishing of the Cosmological Constant and the Non-Renormalization Theorem

The vanishing of the cosmological constant and the non-renormali-zation theorem are verified at two loops by explicit computation using the hyperelliptic language and the newly obtained chiral measure of D'Hoker and Phong. A set of identities is found which is used in the verification of the non-renormalization theorem and leads to a great simplification of the calculation of the four-particle amplitude at two loops.

Two-Loop Superstrings in Hyperelliptic Language III: the Four-Particle Amplitude

We compute explicitly the four-particle amplitude in superstring theories by using the hyperelliptic language and the newly obtained chiral measure of D'Hoker and Phong. Although the algebra of the intermediate steps is a little bit involved, we obtain a quite simple expression for the four-particle amplitude. As expected, the integrand is independent of all the insertion points. As an application of the obtained result, we show that the perturbative correction to the $R^4$ term in type II superstring theories is vanishing point-wise in (even) moduli space at two loops.
