Analysis of Validating and Verifying OpenACC Compilers 3.0 and Above

OpenACC is a high-level directive-based parallel programming model that can manage the sophistication of heterogeneity in architectures and abstract it from the users. The portability of the model across CPUs and accelerators has gained the model a wide variety of users. This means it is also crucial to analyze the reliability of the compilers' implementations. To address this challenge, the OpenACC Validation and Verification team has proposed a validation testsuite to verify the OpenACC implementations across various compilers with an infrastructure for a more streamlined execution. This paper will cover the following aspects: (a) the new developments since the last publication on the testsuite, (b) outline the use of the infrastructure, (c) discuss tests that highlight our workflow process, (d) analyze the results from executing the testsuite on various systems, and (e) outline future developments.

Criteria for Starlikeness Using Schwarzian Derivatives

For a normalised analytic function f defined on the open unit disk in the complex plane, we determine several sufficient conditions for starlikeness in terms of the quotients Q_{ST}:=zf'(z)/f(z), Q_{CV}:=1+zf"(z)/f'(z) and the Schwarzian derivative Q_{SD}:=z^2((f"(z)/f'(z))'-(f"(z)/f'(z))^2/2)$. These conditions were obtained by using the admissibility criteria of starlikeness in the theory of second order differential subordination.

Starlikeness of a product of starlike functions with non-vanishing polynomials

For a function $f$ starlike of order $α$, $0\leqslant α<1$, a non-constant polynomial $Q$ of degree $n$ which is non-vanishing in the unit disc $\mathbb{D}$ and $β>0$, we consider the function $F:\mathbb{D}\to\mathbb{C}$ defined by $F(z)=f(z) (Q(z))^{β/n}$ and find the largest value of $r\in (0,1]$ such that $r^{-1} F(rz)$ lies in various known subclasses of starlike functions such as the class of starlike functions of order $λ$, the classes of starlike functions associated with the exponential function, cardioid, a rational function, nephroid domain and modified sigmoid function. Our radii results are sharp. We also discuss the correlation with known radii results as special cases.

The Booth Lemniscate Starlikeness Radius for Janowski Starlike Functions

The function $G_α(z)=1+ z/(1-αz^2)$, \, $0\leq α<1$, maps the open unit disc $\mathbb{D}$ onto the interior of a domain known as the Booth lemniscate. Associated with this function $G_α$ is the recently introduced class $\mathcal{BS}(α)$ consisting of normalized analytic functions $f$ on $\mathbb{D}$ satisfying the subordination $zf'(z)/f(z) \prec G_α(z)$. Of interest is its connection with known classes $\mathcal{M}$ of functions in the sense $g(z)=(1/r)f(rz)$ belongs to $\mathcal{BS}(α)$ for some $r$ in $(0,1)$ and all $f \in \mathcal{M}$. We find the largest radius $r$ for different classes $\mathcal{M}$, particularly when $\mathcal{M}$ is the class of starlike functions of order $β$, or the Janowski class of starlike functions. As a primary tool for this purpose, we find the radius of the largest disc contained in $G_α(\mathbb{D})$ and centered at a certain point $a \in \mathbb{R}$.

Briot-Bouquet differential subordination and Bernardi's integral operator

The conditions on $A$, $B$, $β$ and $γ$ are obtained for an analytic function $p$ defined on the open unit disc $\mathbb{D}$ and normalized by $p(0)=1$ to be subordinate to $(1+Az)/(1+Bz)$, $-1\leq B<A \leq 1$ when $p(z)+ zp'(z)/(βp(z)+γ)$ is subordinate to $e^{z}$. The conditions on these parameters are derived for the function $p$ to be subordinate to $\sqrt{1+z}$ or $e^{z}$ when $p(z)+ zp'(z)/(βp(z)+γ)$ is subordinate to $(1+Az)/(1+Bz)$. The conditions on $β$ and $γ$ are determined for the function $p$ to be subordinate to $e^{z}$ when $p(z)+ zp'(z)/(βp(z)+γ)$ is subordinate to $\sqrt{1+z}$. Related result for the function $p(z)+ zp'(z)/(βp(z)+γ)$ to be in the parabolic region bounded by the $\operatorname{Re} w=|w-1|$ is investigated. Sufficient conditions for the Bernardi's integral operator to belong to the various subclasses of starlike functions are obtained as applications

Geometric Properties of Generalized Bessel Function associated with the Exponential Function

Sufficient conditions are determined on the parameters such that the generalized and normalized Bessel function of the first kind and other related functions belong to subclasses of starlike and convex functions defined in the unit disk associated with the exponential mapping. Several differential subordination implications are derived for analytic functions involving Bessel function and the operator introduced by Baricz \emph{et al.} [Differential subordinations involving generalized Bessel functions, Bull. Malays. Math. Sci. Soc. {\bf 38} (2015), no.~3, 1255--1280]. These results are obtained by constructing suitable class of admissible functions. Examples involving trigonometric and hyperbolic functions are provided to illustrate the obtained results.

Radius of starlikeness for some classes containing non-univalent functions

A starlike univalent function $f$ is characterized by the function $zf'(z)/f(z)$; several subclasses of these functions were studied in the past by restricting the function $zf'(z)/f(z)$ to take values in a region $Ω$ on the right-half plane, or, equivalently, by requiring the function $zf'(z)/f(z)$ to be subordinate to the corresponding mapping of the unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ to the region $Ω$. The mappings $w_1(z):=z+\sqrt{1+z^2}, w_2(z):=\sqrt{1+z}$ and $w_3(z):=e^z$ maps the unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ to various regions in the right half plane. For normalized analytic functions $f$ satisfying the conditions that $f(z)/g(z), g(z)/zp(z)$ and $p(z)$ are subordinate to the functions $w_i, i=1,2,3$ in various ways for some analytic functions $g(z)$ and $p(z)$, we determine the sharp radius for them to belong to various subclasses of starlike functions.

Starlikeness of Analytic Functions with Subordinate Ratios

Let $h$ be a non-vanishing analytic function in the open unit disc with $h(0)=1$. Consider the class consisting of normalized analytic functions $f$ whose ratios $f(z)/g(z)$, $g(z)/z p(z)$, and $p(z)$ are each subordinate to $h$ for some analytic functions $g$ and $p$. The radius of starlikeness is obtained for this class when $h$ is chosen to be either $h(z)=\sqrt{1+z}$ or $h(z)=e^z$. Further $\mathcal{G}$-radius is also obtained for each of these two classes when $\mathcal{G}$ is a particular widely studied subclass of starlike functions. These include $\mathcal{G}$ consisting of the Janowski starlike functions, and functions which are parabolic starlike.

Radius of Starlikeness for Classes of Analytic Functions

We consider normalized analytic function $f$ on the open unit disk for which either $\operatorname{Re} f(z)/g(z)>0$, $|f(z) /g(z) - 1|<1$ or $\operatorname{Re} (1-z^2) f(z) /z>0$ for some analytic function $g$ with $\operatorname{Re} (1-z^2) g(z) /z>0$. We have obtained the radii for these functions to belong to various subclasses of starlike functions. The subclasses considered include the classes of starlike functions of order $α$, lemniscate starlike functions and parabolic starlike functions.

Radius of Starlikeness of Certain Analytic Functions

This paper studies analytic functions $f$ defined on the open unit disk of the complex plane for which $f/g$ and $(1+z)g/z$ are both functions with positive real part for some analytic function $g$. We determine radius constants of these functions to belong to classes of strong starlike functions, starlike functions of order $α$, parabolic starlike functions, as well as to the classes of starlike functions associated with lemniscate of Bernoulli, cardioid, lune, reverse lemniscate, sine function, exponential function and a particular rational function. The results obtained are sharp.

Starlikeness for Certain Close-to-Star Functions

We find the radius of starlikeness of order $α$, $0\leq α<1$, of normalized analytic functions $f$ on the unit disk satisfying either $\operatorname{Re}(f(z)/g(z))>0$ or $\left| (f(z)/g(z))-1\right|<1$ for some close-to-star function $g$ with $\operatorname{Re}(g(z)/(z+z^2/2))>0$ as well as of the class of close-to-star functions $f$ satisfying $\operatorname{Re}(f(z)/(z+z^2/2))>0$. Several other radii such as radius of univalence and parabolic starlikeness are shown to be the same as the radius of starlikeness of appropriate order.

preprint2020arXiv

Starlikeness of certain analytic functions

Let $f$ and $g$ be analytic functions on the open unit disk of the complex plane with $f/g$ belonging to the class $\mathcal{P} $ of functions with positive real part consisting of functions $p$ with $p(0)=1$ and $\operatorname{Re} p(z)>0$ or to its subclass consisting of functions $p$ with $|p(z)-1|<1$. We obtain the sharp radius constants for the function $f$ to be starlike of order $α$, parabolic starlike, etc. when $g/k\in\mathcal{P}$ where $k$ denotes the Koebe function defined by $k(z)=z/(1-z)^2$.

preprint2020arXiv

Starlikeness of Certain Non-Univalent Functions

We consider three classes of functions defined using the class $\mathcal{P}$ of all analytic functions $p(z)=1+cz+\dotsb$ on the open unit disk having positive real part and study several radius problems for these classes. The first class consists of all normalized analytic functions $f$ with $f/g\in\mathcal{P}$ and $g/(zp)\in\mathcal{P}$ for some normalized analytic function $g$ and $p\in \mathcal{P}$. The second class is defined by replacing the condition $f/g\in\mathcal{P}$ by $|(f/g)-1|<1$ while the other class consists of normalized analytic functions $f$ with $f/(zp)\in\mathcal{P}$ for some $p\in \mathcal{P}$. We have determined radii so that the functions in these classes to belong to various subclasses of starlike functions. These subclasses includes the classes of starlike functions of order $α$, parabolic starlike functions, as well as the classes of starlike functions associated with lemniscate of Bernoulli, reverse lemniscate, sine function, a rational function, cardioid, lune, nephroid and modified sigmoid function.

Sufficient conditions for strong starlikeness

Let $p$ be an analytic function defined on the open unit disc $\mathbb{D}$ with $p(0)=1$ and $0< α\leq 1$. The conditions on complex valued functions $C$, $D$ and $E$ are obtained for $p$ to be subordinate to $((1+z)/(1-z))^α$ when $C(z) z^{2}p''(z)+D(z)zp'(z) + E(z)p(z)=0$. Sufficient conditions for confluent (Kummer) hypergeometric function and generalized and normalized Bessel function of the first kind of complex order to be subordinate to $((1+z)/(1-z))^α$ are obtained as applications. The conditions on $α$ and $β$ are derived for $p$ to be subordinate to $((1+z)/(1-z))^α$ when $1+βzp'(z)/p^{n}(z)$ with $n=1,2$ is subordinate to $1+4z/3+2z^{2}/3=:φ_{CAR}(z)$. Similar problems were investigated for $\RE p(z)>0$ when the functions $p(z)+βzp'(z)/p^{n}(z)$ with $n=0,2$ is subordinate to $φ_{CAR}(z)$. The condition on $β$ is determined for $p$ to be subordinate to $((1+z)/(1-z))^α$ when $p(z)+βzp'(z)/p^{n}(z)$ with $n=0,1,2$ is subordinate to $((1+z)/(1-z))^α$.

Generalized Zalcman conjecture for some classes of analytic functions

For functions $f(z)= z+ a_2 z^2 + a_3 z^3 + \cdots$ in various subclasses of normalized analytic functions, we consider the problem of estimating the generalized Zalcman coefficient functional $ϕ(f,n,m;λ):=|λa_n a_m -a_{n+m-1}|$. For all real parameters $λ$ and $ β<1$, we provide the sharp upper bound of $ϕ(f,n,m;λ)$ for functions $f$ satisfying $\operatorname{Re}f'(z) > β$ and hence settles the open problem of estimating $ϕ(f,n,m;λ)$ recently proposed by Agrawal and Sahoo [S. Agrawal and S. k. Sahoo, On coefficient functionals associated with the Zalcman conjecture, arXiv preprint, 2016]. It is worth mentioning that the sharp estimations of $ϕ(f,n,m;λ)$ follow for starlike and convex functions of order $α$ $(α<1)$ when $λ\leq 0$. Moreover, for certain positive $λ$, the sharp estimation of $ϕ(f,n,m;λ)$ is given when $f$ is a typically real function or a univalent function with real coefficients or is in some subclasses of close-to-convex functions.

A comprehensive class of harmonic functions defined by convolution and its connection with integral transforms and hypergeometric functions

For given two harmonic functions $Φ$ and $Ψ$ with real coefficients in the open unit disk $\mathbb{D}$, we study a class of harmonic functions $f(z)=z-\sum_{n=2}^{\infty}A_nz^{n}+\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}B_n\bar{z}^n$ $(A_n, B_n \geq 0)$ satisfying \[\RE \frac{(f*Φ)(z)}{(f*Ψ)(z)}>α\quad (0\leq α<1, z \in \mathbb{D});\] * being the harmonic convolution. Coefficient inequalities, growth and covering theorems, as well as closure theorems are determined. The results obtained extend several known results as special cases. In addition, we study the class of harmonic functions $f$ that satisfy $\RE f(z)/z>α$ $(0\leq α<1, z \in \mathbb{D})$. As an application, their connection with certain integral transforms and hypergeometric functions is established.

Bounds for the Second Hankel Determinant of Certain Univalent Functions

The estimates for the second Hankel determinant a_2a_4-a_3^2 of analytic function f(z)=z+a_2 z^2+a_3 z^3+...b for which either zf'(z)/f(z) or 1+zf"(z)/f'(z) is subordinate to certain analytic function are investigated. The estimates for the Hankel determinant for two other classes are also obtained. In particular, the estimates for the Hankel determinant of strongly starlike, parabolic starlike, lemniscate starlike functions are obtained.

Starlikeness, convexity and close-to-convexity of harmonic mappings

In 1984, Clunie and Sheil-Small proved that a sense-preserving harmonic function whose analytic part is convex, is univalent and close-to-convex. In this paper, certain cases are discussed under which the conclusion of this result can be strengthened and extended to fully starlike and fully convex harmonic mappings. In addition, we investgate the properties of functions in the class $\mathcal{M}(α)$ $(|α|\leq 1)$ consisting of harmonic functions $f=h+\overline{g}$ with $g'(z)=αzh'(z)$, $\RE (1+{zh''(z)}/{h'(z)})>-{1}/{2} $ $ \mbox{for} |z|<1 $. The coefficient estimates, growth results, area theorem and bounds for the radius of starlikeness and convexity of the class $\mathcal{M}(α)$ are determined. In particular, the bound for the radius of convexity is sharp for the class $\mathcal{M}(1)$.

Sufficient Conditions for Starlike Functions Associated with the Lemniscate of Bernoulli

Let -1\leq B<A\leq 1. Condition on β, is determined so that 1+βzp'(z)/p^k(z)\prec(1+Az)/(1+Bz)\;(-1<k\leq3) implies p(z)\prec \sqrt{1+z}. Similarly, condition on βis determined so that 1+βzp'(z)/p^n(z) or p(z)+βzp'(z)/p^n(z)\prec\sqrt{1+z}\;(n=0, 1, 2) implies p(z)\prec(1+Az)/(1+Bz) or \sqrt{1+z}. In addition to that condition on βis derived so that p(z)\prec(1+Az)/(1+Bz) when p(z)+βzp'(z)/p(z)\prec\sqrt{1+z}. Few more problems of the similar flavor are also considered.

Univalence and convexity in one direction of the convolution of harmonic mappings

Let $\mathcal{H}$ denote the class of all complex-valued harmonic functions $f$ in the open unit disk normalized by $f(0)=0=f_{z}(0)-1=f_{\bar{z}}(0)$, and let $\mathcal{A}$ be the subclass of $\mathcal{H}$ consisting of normalized analytic functions. For $ϕ\in \mathcal{A}$, let $\mathcal{W}_{H}^{-}(ϕ):=\{f=h+\bar{g} \in \mathcal{H}:h-g=ϕ\}$ and $\mathcal{W}_{H}^{+}(ϕ):=\{f=h+\bar{g} \in \mathcal{H}:h+g=ϕ\}$ be subfamilies of $\mathcal{H}$. In this paper, we shall determine the conditions under which the harmonic convolution $f_1*f_2$ is univalent and convex in one direction if $f_1 \in \mathcal{W}_{H}^{-}(z)$ and $f_2 \in \mathcal{W}_{H}^{-}(ϕ)$. A similar analysis is carried out if $f_1 \in \mathcal{W}_{H}^{-}(z)$ and $f_2 \in \mathcal{W}_{H}^{+}(ϕ)$. Examples of univalent harmonic mappings constructed by way of convolution are also presented.

Applications of differential subordination for functions with fixed second coefficient to geometric function theory

The theory of first-order differential subordination developed by Miller and Mocanu was recently extended to functions with fixed initial coefficient by R. M. Ali, S. Nagpal and V. Ravichandran [Second-order differential subordination for analytic functions with fixed initial coefficient, Bull. Malays. Math. Sci. Soc. (2) 34 (2011), 611--629] and applied to obtain several generalization of classical results in geometric function theory. In this paper, further applications of this subordination theory is given. In particular, several sufficient conditions related to starlikeness, convexity, close-to-convexity of normalized analytic functions are derived. Connections with previously known results are pointed out.

Applications of Theory of Differential Subordination for Functions with Fixed Initial Coefficient to Univalent Functions

By using the theory of first-order differential subordination for functions with fixed initial coefficient, several well-known results for subclasses of univalent functions are improved by restricting the functions to have fixed second coefficient. The influence of the second coefficient of univalent functions is evident in the results obtained.

Construction of subclasses of univalent harmonic mappings

Complex-valued harmonic functions that are univalent and sense-preserving in the open unit disk are widely studied. A new methodology is employed to construct subclasses of univalent harmonic mappings from a given subfamily of univalent analytic functions. The notion of harmonic Alexander integral operator is introduced. Also, the radius of convexity for certain families of harmonic functions is determined.

preprint2012arXiv

Fully Starlike and Convex Harmonic Mappings of order α

The hereditary property of convexity and starlikeness for conformal mappings does not generalize to univalent harmonic mappings. This failure leads us to the notion of fully starlike and convex mappings of order α, (0\leq α<1). A bound for the radius of fully starlikeness and fully convexity of order αis determined for certain families of univalent harmonic mappings. Convexity is not preserved under the convolution of univalent harmonic convex mappings, unlike in the analytic case. Given two univalent harmonic convex mappings f and g, the problem of finding the radius r_{0} such that f*g is a univalent harmonic convex mapping in |z|<r_{0}, is being considered.

Initial Coefficients of Bi-univalent Functions

An analytic function $f$ defined on the open unit disk $\mathbb{D}=\{z:|z|<1\}$ is bi-univalent if the function $f$ and its inverse $f^{-1}$ are univalent in $\mathbb{D}$. Estimates for the initial coefficients of bi-univalent functions $f$ are investigated when $f$ and $f^{-1}$ respectively belong to some subclasses of univalent functions. Some earlier results are shown to be special cases of our results.

Second-order differential subordinations for analytic functions with fixed initial coefficient

Functions with fixed initial coefficient have been widely studied. A new methodology is proposed in this paper by making appropriate modifications and improvements to the theory of second-order differential subordination. Several interesting examples are given. The results obtained are applied to the classes of convex and starlike functions with fixed second coefficient.

Inclusion Criteria for Subclasses of Functions and Gronwall's Inequality

A normalized analytic function f is shown to be univalent in the open unit disk D if its second coefficient is sufficiently small and relates to its Schwarzian derivative through a certain inequality. Radii of Starlikeness Associated with the Lemniscate of Bernoulli and the Left-Half Plane

A normalized analytic function f defined on the open unit disk in the complex plane is in the class SL if zf'(z)/f(z) lies in the region bounded by the right-half of the lemniscate of Bernoulli given by |w^2 - 1| < 1. In the present investigation, the SL-radii for certain well-known classes of functions are obtained. Radius problems associated with the left-half plane are also investigated for these classes
