Starlikeness of Analytic Functions with Subordinate Ratios

Let $h$ be a non-vanishing analytic function in the open unit disc with $h(0)=1$. Consider the class consisting of normalized analytic functions $f$ whose ratios $f(z)/g(z)$, $g(z)/z p(z)$, and $p(z)$ are each subordinate to $h$ for some analytic functions $g$ and $p$. The radius of starlikeness is obtained for this class when $h$ is chosen to be either $h(z)=\sqrt{1+z}$ or $h(z)=e^z$. Further $\mathcal{G}$-radius is also obtained for each of these two classes when $\mathcal{G}$ is a particular widely studied subclass of starlike functions. These include $\mathcal{G}$ consisting of the Janowski starlike functions, and functions which are parabolic starlike.

On the Bohr inequality

The Bohr inequality, first introduced by Harald Bohr in 1914, deals with finding the largest radius $r$, $0<r<1$, such that $\sum_{n=0}^\infty |a_n|r^n \leq 1$ holds whenever $|\sum_{n=0}^\infty a_nz^n|\leq 1$ in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ of the complex plane. The exact value of this largest radius, known as the \emph{Bohr radius}, has been established to be $1/3.$ This paper surveys recent advances and generalizations on the Bohr inequality. It discusses the Bohr radius for certain power series in $\mathbb{D},$ as well as for analytic functions from $\mathbb{D}$ into particular domains. These domains include the punctured unit disk, the exterior of the closed unit disk, and concave wedge-domains. The analogous Bohr radius is also studied for harmonic and starlike logharmonic mappings in $\mathbb{D}.$ The Bohr phenomenon which is described in terms of the Euclidean distance is further investigated using the spherical chordal metric and the hyperbolic metric. The exposition concludes with a discussion on the $n$-dimensional Bohr radius.

Second-order differential subordinations for analytic functions with fixed initial coefficient

Functions with fixed initial coefficient have been widely studied. A new methodology is proposed in this paper by making appropriate modifications and improvements to the theory of second-order differential subordination. Several interesting examples are given. The results obtained are applied to the classes of convex and starlike functions with fixed second coefficient.

A first-order differential double subordination with applications

Let $q_1$ and $q_2$ belong to a certain class of normalized analytic univalent functions in the open unit disk of the complex plane. Sufficient conditions are obtained for normalized analytic functions $p$ to satisfy the double subordination chain $q_1(z)\prec p(z)\prec q_2(z)$. The differential sandwich-type result obtained is applied to normalized univalent functions and to $Φ$-like functions.

Coefficient estimates for bi-univalent Ma-Minda starlike and convex functions

Estimates on the initial coefficients are obtained for normalized analytic functions $f$ in the open unit disk with $f$ and its inverse $g=f^{-1}$ satisfying the conditions that $zf'(z)/f(z)$ and $zg'(z)/g(z)$ are both subordinate to a starlike univalent function whose range is symmetric with respect to the real axis. Several related classes of functions are also considered, and connections to earlier known results are made.

Inclusion Criteria for Subclasses of Functions and Gronwall's Inequality

A normalized analytic function f is shown to be univalent in the open unit disk D if its second coefficient is sufficiently small and relates to its Schwarzian derivative through a certain inequality. New criteria for analytic functions to be in certain subclasses of functions are established in terms of the Schwarzian derivatives and the second coefficients. These include obtaining a sufficient condition for functions to be strongly $α$-Bazileviĉ of order $β$.

Radii of Starlikeness Associated with the Lemniscate of Bernoulli and the Left-Half Plane

A normalized analytic function f defined on the open unit disk in the complex plane is in the class SL if zf'(z)/f(z) lies in the region bounded by the right-half of the lemniscate of Bernoulli given by |w^2 - 1| < 1. In the present investigation, the SL-radii for certain well-known classes of functions are obtained. Radius problems associated with the left-half plane are also investigated for these classes
