Reconstruction schemes of scalar field models for the Power Law Entropy Corrected Holographic Dark Energy model with Ricci scalar cut-off

In this work, we examine the cosmological characteristics of the Power Law Entropy Corrected Holographic Dark Energy (PLECHDE) model with infrared (IR) cut-off, which is determined by the curvature parameter $k$, the time derivative of $H$, and the average radius of the Ricci scalar curvature $R$, which varies with the Hubble parameter $H$ squared. We obtain the deceleration parameter $q$ and the Equation of State (EoS) parameter of Dark Energy (DE) $ω_D$. Additionally, we derive the Hubble parameter $H$ and the scale factor $a$ expressions as functions of the cosmic time $t$. Additionally, we examine the limiting scenario that pertains to a flat Dark Dominated Universe. Furthermore, we establish a correspondence between the DE model considered and some scalar fields, in particular the Generalized Chaplygin Gas, the Modified Chaplygin Gas, the Modified Variable Chaplygin Gas, the New Modified Chaplygin Gas, the Viscous Generalized Chaplygin Gas, the Dirac-Born-Infeld, the Yang-Mills, and the Non Linear Electrodynamics scalar field models.

Multiple fluid theory of cosmic evolution and its thermodynamic analysis

In this paper we have discussed the modified gravity and scalar field DE model specifically DBI essence model with the analysis of thermodynamics during cosmological evolution. We have used the modified gravity with the form f(R,T)=R+2ΛT in our calculations. The basic aim behind this paper is to discuss a theory that unifies modified gravity with DE models including the solutions of some cosmological problems like thermodynamics energy conditions violation problems, finite time future singularity problems, initial singularity problem, Cosmic inflation problem, decelerated expansion problem, graceful exit problem, reheating problem, bouncing nature problem, phase transformation-spontaneous symmetry breaking problem, negative heat capacity paradox problem and obviously the present day universe problems (Continuously decreasing temperature problem, present day DE dominated expansion problem). We have established the viscous effects (both positive and negative viscosity) in our calculation and discussed the negative-positive viscosity by introducing two special type of energy cycles. Finally, we have discussed the stability conditions for universe evolution through cosmic perturbation and resolved the instability problems. We have also shown the state finder trajectories for both with and without viscous fluid on the basis of our calculations to compare our research with the results of other independent DE models

Cosmology of a generalised version of holographic dark energy in presence of bulk viscosity and its inflationary dynamics through slow roll parameters

The present study reports a reconstruction scheme of a Dark Energy (DE) model with higher order derivative of Hubble parameter, which is a particular case of Nojiri-Odintsov holographic DE [S. Nojiri and S. D. Odintsov, Gen. Relativ. Gravit. 38 (2006) 1285.] that unifies phantom inflation with the acceleration of te universe on late-time. The reconstruction has been carried out in presence of bulk-viscosity, where the bulk-viscous pressure has been taken as a function of Hubble parameter. Ranges of cosmic time $t$ have been derived for quintessence, cosmological constant and phantom behaviour of the equation of state (EoS) parameter. In the viscous scenario, the reconstruction has been carried out in an interacting and non-interacting situations and in both the cases stability against small perturbations has been observed. Finally, the slow roll parameters have been studied and a scope of exit from inflation has been observed. Also, availability of quasi exponential expansion has been demonstrated for interacting viscous scenario and a study through tensor to scalar ratio has ensured consistency of the model with the observational bound by Planck. Alongwith primordial fluctuations the interacting scenario has been found to generate strong dissipative regime.

Modified Holographic energy density driven inflation and some cosmological outcomes

Motivated by the work of Nojiri et al. (2019) [S. Nojiri, S. D. Odintsov and E. N. Saridakis, Holographic inflation, Phys. Lett. B 797 (2019) 134829], the present study reports a model of inflation under the consideration that the inflationary regime is originated by a type of holographic energy density. The infrared cutoff has been selected based on the modified holographic model that is a particular case of Nojiri-Odintsov holographic dark energy \cite{odi1} that unifies phantom inflation with the acceleration of the universe on late-time. On getting an analytical solution for Hubble parameter we considered the presence of bulk viscosity and the effective equation of state parameter appeared to be consistent with the inflationary scenario with some constraints. It has also been observed that in the inflationary scenario the contribution of bulk viscosity is not of much significance and its influence is increasing with the evolution of the universe. Inflationary observables have been computed for the model and the slow-roll parameters have been computed. Finally, it has been observed that the trajectories in $n_s - r$ are compatible with the observational bound found by Planck. It has been concluded that the tensor to scalar ratio for this model can explain the primordial fluctuation in the early universe as well.

Israel-Stewart approach to viscous dissipative extended holographic Ricci dark energy dominated universe

This paper reports a study on the truncated Israel-Stewart formalism for bulk viscosity using the extended holographic Ricci dark energy (EHRDE), where the density of dark energy is given as a combination of the Hubble parameter and its derivative. The equations of motion are integrated and the resulting model is analysed under many aspects, including the state finder parameters and the generalised thermodynamics second law. Under the consideration that the universe is dominated by EHRDE the evolution equation for the bulk viscous pressure $Π$ in the framework of the truncated Israel-Stewart theory has been taken as $τ\dotΠ+Π=-3ξH$, where $τ$ is the relaxation time and $ξ$ is the bulk viscosity coefficient. Considering effective pressure as a sum of thermodynamic pressure of EHRDE and bulk viscous pressure it has been observed that under the influence of bulk viscosity the EoS parameter $w_{DE}$ is behaving like phantom i.e. $w_{DE}\leq -1$. It has been observed that the magnitude of the effective pressure $p_{eff}=p+Π$ is decaying with time. We also investigated the case for a specific choice of scale factor namely $a(t)=(t-t_0)^{\fracβ{1-α}}$. For this choice we have observed that a transition from quintessence to phantom is possible for the equation of state parameter. However, the $Λ$CDM phase is not attainable by the statefinder trajectories for this choice. Finally it has been observed that in both of the cases the generalized second law of thermodynamics is valid for the viscous EHRDE dominated universe enveloped by the apparent horizon.

Power-law and Logarithmic Entropy Corrected Holographic Dark Energy Models in Brans-Dicke Cosmology with Granda-Oliveros Cut-Off

In this paper, the cosmological implications of the Power Law Entropy Corrected Holographic Dark Energy (PLECHDE) and the Logarithmic Entropy Corrected Holographic Dark Energy (LECHDE) models in the context of Brans-Dicke (BD) cosmology for both non-interacting and interacting DE and Dark Matter (DM) are studied. As the system infrared cut-off, we choose the recently proposed Granda-Oliveros cut-off, which contains a term proportional to the first time derivative of the Hubble parameter and one term proportional to $H^2$, i.e. the Hubble parameter squared. We obtain the expressions of three quantities, i.e. the Equation of State (EoS) parameter $ω_D$, the deceleration parameter $q$ and the evolutionary form of the energy density parameter $Ω'_D$ of the PLECHDE and LECHDE models in a non-flat Universe for non-interacting and interacting DE and DM as well. Moreover, we investigate the limiting cases corresponding to: a) absence of entropy corrections; b) Einstein's gravity; and c) concomitantly absence of entropy corrections and Einstein's gravity. Furthermore, we consider the limiting case corresponding to the Ricci scale, which is recovered for some particular values of the parameters characterizing the Granda-Oliveros scale. We also study the statefinder diagnostic and the cosmographic parameters for both models considered in this work.

Power-Law Entropy-Corrected Holographic Dark Energy in Hořava-Lifshitz Cosmology with Granda-Oliveros Cut-off

In this paper, we study the Power Law Entropy Corrected Holographic Dark Energy (PLECHDE) model in the framework of a non-flat Universe and of Hořava-Lifshitz cosmology with infrared cut-off given by recently proposed Granda-Oliveros cut-off, which contains one term proportional to the Hubble parameter squared $H^2$ and one term proportional to the first time derivative of the Hubble parameter $\dot{H}$. Moreover, this cut-off is characterized by two constant parameters, $α$ and $β$. For the two cases corresponding to non-interacting and interacting DE and Dark Matter (DM), we derive the evolutionary form of the energy density of DE $Ω_D'$, the Equation of State (EoS) parameter of DE $ω_D$ and the deceleration parameter $q$. Using the parametrization of the EoS parameter $ω_D\left(z\right)=ω_0+ω_1 z$, we obtain the expressions of the two parameters $ω_0$ and $ω_1$. We also study the statefinder parameters $\left\{ r,s \right\}$, the snap and lerk cosmographic parameters and the squared speed of the sound $v_s^2$. We also calculate the values of the quantities we study for different values of the running parameter $λ$ and for different set of values of $α$ and $β$.

Viscous extended holographic Ricci dark energy in the framework of standard Eckart theory

In the present work we report a study on the viscous extended holographic Ricci dark energy (EHRDE) model under the assumption of existence of bulk viscosity in the linear barotropic fluid and the EHRDE in the framework of standard Eckart theory of relativistic irreversible thermodynamics and it has been observed that the non-equilibrium bulk viscous pressure is significantly smaller than the local equilibrium pressure. We have studied the equation of state (EoS) parameter and observed that the EoS behaves like "quintom" and is consistent with the constraints set by observational data sets from SNLS3, BAO and Planck + WMAP9 + WiggleZ measurements in the reference S. Kumar and L. Xu, \emph{Phys. Lett. B},\textbf{737}, 244 (2014). Analysis of statefinder parameters has shown the possibility of attainment of $Λ$CDM phase under current model and at the same time it has been pointed out that the for $z=0$ i.e. current universe, the statefinder pair is different from that of $Λ$CDM and the $Λ$CDM can be attained in a later stage of the universe. An analysis of stability has shown that although the viscous EHRDE along with viscous barotropic is classically unstable in the present epoch, it can lead to a stable universe in very late stage. Considering an universe enveloped by event horizon we have observed validity of generalized second law of thermodynamics.

Consequences of three modified forms of holographic dark energy models in bulk-brane interaction

In this paper, we study the effects which are produced by the interaction between a brane Universe and the bulk in which the Universe is embedded. Taking into account the effects produced by the interaction between a brane Universe and the bulk, we derived the Equation of State (EoS) parameter $ω_D$ for three different models of Dark Energy (DE), \emph{i.e.} the Holographic DE (HDE) model with infrared (IR) cut-off given by the Granda-Oliveros cut-off, the Modified Holographic Ricci DE (MHRDE) model and a DE model which is function of the Hubble parameter $H$ squared and to higher derivatives of $H$. Moreover, we have considered two different cases of scale factor (namely, the power law and the emergent ones). A nontrivial contribution of the DE is observed to be different from the standard matter fields confined to the brane. Such contribution has a monotonically decreasing behavior upon the evolution of the Universe for the emergent scenario of the scale factor, while monotonically increasing for the power-law form of the scale factor $a(t)$.

Holographic dark energy reconstruction of $f(T,\mathcal{T})$ gravity

The present paper reports a holographic reconstruction scheme for $f(T,\mathcal T)$ gravity proposed in Harko et al. $\emph{JCAP}\; 12(2014)021$ where $T$ is the torsion scalar and $\mathcal{T}$ is the trace of the energy-momentum tensor considering future event horizon as the enveloping horizon of the universe. We have considered $f(T, \mathcal T)=T + γg(\mathcal T)$ and $f(T,\mathcal T) =β\mathcal T + g(T)$ for reconstruction. We observe that the derived $f(T,\mathcal T)$ models can represent phantom or quintessence regimes of the universe which are compatible with the current observational data.

Holographic polytropic $f(T)$-gravity models

The present paper reports a study on the cosmological consequences arising from reconstructing $f(T)$ gravity through new holographic-polytropic dark energy. We assume two approaches, namely a particular form of Hubble parameter $H$ and a solution for $f(T)$. We obtain the deceleration parameter, effective equation of state as well as torsion equation of state parameters from total density and pressure in both cases. It is interesting to mention here that the deceleration and torsion equation of state represent transition from deceleration to acceleration phase. We study the statefinder parameters under both approaches which result that statefinder trajectories are found to attain $Λ$CDM point. The comparison with observational data represents consistent results. Also, we discuss the stability of reconstructed models through squared speed of sound which represents stability in late times.

Generalized second law of thermodynamics in QCD ghost f(G) gravity

Considering power-law for of scale factor in a flat FRW universe we reported a reconstruction scheme for $f(G)$ gravity based on QCD ghost dark energy. We reconstructed the effective equation of state parameter and observed "quintessence" behavior of the equation of state parameter. Furthermore, considering dynamical apparent horizon as the enveloping horizon of the universe we have observed that the generalized second law of thermodynamics is valid for this reconstructed $f(G)$ gravity.

Holographic Dark Energy Models and Higher Order Generalizations in Dynamical Chern-Simons Modified Gravity

Dark Energy models are here investigated and studied in the framework of the Chern-Simons modified gravity model. We bring into focus the Holographic Dark Energy (HDE) model with Granda-Oliveros cut-off, the Modified Holographic Ricci Dark Energy (MHRDE) model and, moreover, a model with higher derivatives of the Hubble parameter as well. The relevant expressions of the scale factor a(t) for a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker Universe are derived and studied, and in this context, the evolution of the scale factor is shown to be similar to that one displayed by the modified Chaplygin gas in two of the above models.

Holographic reconstruction of $f(G)$ Gravity for scale factors pertaining to Emergent, Logamediate and Intermediate scenarios

In this paper, we reconstruct the holographic dark energy in the framework of $f(G)$ modified theory of gravity, where $G$ is Gauss-Bonnet invariant. In this context, we choose the infrared cut-off as Granda-Oliveros cut-off which is proportional to the Hubble parameter $H$ and its first derivative with respect to the cosmic time $t$. We reconstruct $f(G)$ model with the inclusion of HDE and three well-known forms of the scale factor $a(t)$, i.e. the emergent, the logamediate and the intermediate scale factors. The reconstructed model as well as equation of state parameter are discussed numerically with the help of graphical representation to explore the accelerated expansion of the universe. Moreover, the stability of the models incorporating all the scale factors is checked through squared speed of sound $v_s^2$.

New holographic reconstruction of scalar field dark energy models in the framework of chameleon Brans-Dicke cosmology

Motivated by the work of Yang et al., \emph{Mod. Phys. Lett. A}, \textbf{26}, 191 (2011), we report a study on the New Holographic Dark Energy (NHDE) model with energy density given by $ρ_D=\frac{3ϕ^2}{4ω}(μH^2+ν\dot{H})$ in the framework of chameleon Brans-Dicke cosmology. We have studied a correspondence between the quintessence, the DBI-essence and the tachyon scalar field models with the NHDE model in the framework of chameleon Brans-Dicke cosmology. Deriving an expression of the Hubble parameter $H$ and, accordingly, $ρ_D$ in the context of chameleon Brans-Dicke chameleon cosmology, we have reconstructed the potentials and dynamics for these scalar field models. Furthermore, we have examined the stability for the obtained solutions of the crossing of the phantom divide under a quantum correction of massless conformally-invariant fields and we have seen that quantum correction could be small when the phantom crossing occurs and the obtained solutions of the phantom crossing could be stable under the quantum correction. It has also been noted that the potential increases as the matter-chameleon coupling gets stronger with the evolution of the universe.

Power Law and Logarithmic Ricci Dark Energy Models in Horava-Lifshitz Cosmology

In this work, we studied the Power Law and the Logarithmic Entropy Corrected versions of the Ricci Dark Energy (RDE) model in a spatially non-flat universe and in the framework of Hořava-Lifshitz cosmology. For the two cases containing non-interacting and interacting RDE and Dark Matter (DM), we obtained the exact differential equation that determines the evolutionary form of the RDE energy density parameter. Moreover, we obtained the expressions of the deceleration parameter $q$ and, using a parametrization of the equation of state (EoS) parameter $ω_D$ as $ω_D\left(z\right)=ω_0+ω_1 z$, we derived the expressions of both $ω_0$ and $ω_1$. We interestingly found that the expression of $ω_0$ is the same for both non-interacting and interacting case. The expression of $ω_1$ for the interacting case has strong dependence from the interacting parameter $b^2$. The parameters derived in this work are done in small redshift approximation and for low redshift expansion of the EoS parameter.

Two models of f(T) have been generated and the pressure and density contributions due to torsion have been reconstructed. Reconstruction of $f(G)$ Gravity with New Agegraphic Dark Energy Model

In this work, we consider the reconstruction scenario of new agegraphic dark energy (NADE) model and $f(G)$ theory of gravity with $G$ representing the Gauss-Bonnet invariant in the flat FRW spacetime. In this context, we assume a solution of the scale factor in power-law form and study the correspondence scenario. A new agegraphic $f(G)$ model is constructed and discussed graphically for the evolution of the universe. Using this model, we investigate the different eras of the expanding universe and stability with the help of the equation of state (EoS) parameter $ω_{eff}$ and squared speed of sound $v_s^2$, respectively. It is mentioned here that the reconstructed model represents the quintessence era of the accelerated expansion of the universe with instability. Moreover, the statefinder trajectories are studied and we find out that the model is not capable of reaching the $Λ$CDM phase of the universe.

A dark energy with higher order derivatives of $H$ in the modified gravity $f(R,T)$

In this paper, we consider a recently proposed model of Dark Energy (DE) which contains three terms (one proportional to the squared Hubble parameter, one to the first derivative with respect to the cosmic time of the Hubble parameter and one proportional to the second derivative with respect to the cosmic time of the Hubble parameter) in the light of the $f\left(R,T \right)$ model of modified gravity, considering the particular model $f\left(R,T \right) = μR + νT$, with $μ$ and $ν$ two free positive constant parameters. Here $R$ and $T$ are the curvature and torsion scalars, respectively. In this work, we have found that the Hubble parameter $H$ exhibits a decaying behavior until redshifts of the order of $z\approx-0.5$ (when it starts to increase) and the time derivative of the Hubble parameter goes from negative to positive values for different redshifts. The equation of state (EoS) parameter of DE and the effective EoS parameter exhibit a transition from $ω<-1$ to $ω>-1$ (then the EoS parameters have a quintom-like behavior). We have also found that the said model can attain the late time accelerated phase of the universe. Using the statefinder parameters $r$ and $s$, we derived that the considered model can attaining the $Λ$CDM phase of the universe and can interpolate between dust and $Λ$CDM phase of the universe. Finally, studying the squared speed of sound $v_s^2$, we have seen that the model under consideration is classically stable in the earlier stage of the universe, but classically unstable in the current stage.

A Study on Ricci Dark Energy in Bulk-Brane Interaction

In this work we have investigated the effects of the interaction between a brane universe and the bulk in which it is embedded. Considering the effects of the interaction between a brane universe and the bulk we have obtained the equation of state for the interacting holographic Ricci dark energy density $ρ_Λ=3c^2 (\dot{H}+2 H^2)$ in the flat universe. We have investigated the impact of $c^2$ on the equation of state $ω_Λ$. Also, considering the power law for of the scale factor, we have observed that non-trivial contributions of dark energy which differ from the standard matter fields confined to the brane is increasing with the evolution of the universe.

Extended holographic Ricci dark energy in chameleon Brans-Dicke cosmology

In the present work we have studied some features of the generalized Brans-Dicke (BD) model in which the scalar field is allowed to couple non-minimally with matter sector. Extended holographic Ricci dark energy (EHRDE) has been considered in the above framework of BD cosmology. Some restrictions have been derived for the BD parameter $ω$ and a stronger matter-chameleon coupling has been observed with expansion of the universe. In this framework, the equation of state parameter of EHRDE has behaved like quintom. Also, we have reconstructed the potential and coupling function for BD model for the EHRDE. It has been observed that potential function is increasing as the matter-chameleon coupling is getting stronger.

Stability of Non-asymptotically flat thin-shell wormholes in generalized dilaton-axion gravity

We construct a new type of thin-shell wormhole for non-asymptotically flat charged black holes in generalized dilaton-axion gravity inspired by low-energy string theory using cut-and-paste technique. We have shown that this thin shell wormhole is stable. The most striking feature of our model is that the total amount of exotic matter needed to support the wormhole can be reduced as desired with the suitable choice of the value of a parameter. Various other aspects of thin-shell wormhole are also analyzed.

A study on the interacting Ricci dark energy in $f(R,T)$ gravity

The present work reports study on the interacting Ricci dark energy in a modified gravity theory named $f(R,T)$ gravity. The specific model $f(R,T)=μR+νT$ (proposed by R. Myrzakulov, arXiv:1205.5266v2) is considered here. For this model we have observed a quintom-like behavior of the equation of state (EoS) parameter and a transition from matter dominated to dark energy density has been observed through fraction density evolution. The statefinder parameters reveal that the model interpolates between dust and $Λ$CDM phases of the universe.

Application of Principal Component Analysis in Machine-Part Cell Formation

The present paper applied Principal Component Analysis (PCA) for grouping of machines and parts so that the part families can be processed in the cells formed by those associated machines. An incidence matrix with binary entries has been chosen to apply this methodology. After performing the eigenanalysis of the principal component and observing the component loading plot of the principal components, the machine groups and part families have been identified and arranged to form machine-part cells. Later the same methodology has been extended and applied to nine other machine-part matrices collected from literature for the validation of the proposed methodology. The goodness of cell formation was compared using the grouping efficacy and the potential of eigenanalysis in cell formation has been established over the best available results using the various established methodologies. The result shows that in 70% of the problem there is increase in grouping efficacy and in 30% problem the performance measure of cell formation is as good as the best result from literature.

Behaviour of interacting Ricci dark energy in logarithmic f(T) gravity

In the present work we have considered a modified gravity dubbed as "logarithmic $f(T)$ gravity" and investigated the behavior of Ricci dark energy interacting with pressureless dark matter. We have chosen the interaction term in the form $Q\propto Hδρ_{m}$ and investigated the behavior of the Hubble parameter $H$ as a function of the redshift $z$. For this reconstructed $H$ we have investigated the behavior of the density of the Ricci dark energy $ρ_{RDE}$ and density contribution due to torsion $ρ_{T}$. All of the said cosmological parameters are seen to have increasing behavior from higher to lower redshifts for all values of $c^{2}$ pertaining to the Ricci dark energy. Subsequently, we observed the equation of state parameter $w_{RDE}$ in this situation. The equation of state parameter is found to behave like phantom for all choices of $c^{2}$ in the Ricci dark energy.

Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics for FRW Cosmology with Power-Law Entropy Correction

In this work, we have considered the power law correction of entropy on the horizon. If the flat FRW Universe is filled with the n components fluid with interactions, the GSL of thermodynamics for apparent and event horizons have been investigated for equilibrium and non-equilibrium cases. If we consider a small perturbation around the de Sitter space-time, the general conditions of the validity of GSL have been found. Also if a phantom dominated Universe has a polelike type scale factor, the validity of GSL has also been analyzed. Further we have obtained constraints on the power-law parameter α in the phantom and quintessence dominated regimes. Finally we obtain conditions under which GSL breaks down in a cosmological background.

In the present work, we have considered a non-flat universe and accordingly studied the behaviors of equation of state parameter and deceleration parameter. Subsequently, using the first law of thermodynamics we derived the expressions for the time derivative of the total entropy of a universe enveloped by apparent horizon. Monthly sunspot number time series analysis and its modeling through autoregressive artificial neural network

This study reports a statistical analysis of monthly sunspot number time series and observes non homogeneity and asymmetry within it. Using Mann-Kendall test a linear trend is revealed. After identifying stationarity within the time series we generate autoregressive AR(p) and autoregressive moving average (ARMA(p,q)). Based on minimization of AIC we find 3 and 1 as the best values of p and q respectively. In the next phase, autoregressive neural network (AR-NN(3)) is generated by training a generalized feedforward neural network (GFNN). The generalized second law of thermodynamics in f(R) gravity for various choices of scale factor

The present study is aimed at investigating the validity of the generalized second law (GSL) of thermodynamics in $f(\cal R)$ gravity. Choosing $f(\cal R)=R+ξR^μ+ζR^{-ν}$ [following Phys Rev D, 68, 123512 (2003)] we have computed the time derivatives of total entropy for various choices of scale factor pertaining to emergent, intermediate and logamediate scenarios of the universe. We have taken into account the radii of hubble, apparent, particle and event horizons while computing the time derivatives of entropy under various situations being considered. After analyzing through the plots of time derivative of total entropy against cosmic time it is observed that the derivative always stays at positive level that indicate the validity of GSL of thermodynamics in the $f(\cal R)$ gravity irrespective of the choices of scale factor and enveloping horizon.

A Dark Energy Model with Generalized Uncertainty Principle in the Emergent, Intermediate and Logamediate Scenarios of the Universe

This work is motivated by the work of Kim et al (2008), which considered the equation of state parameter for the new agegraphic dark energy based on generalized uncertainty principle coexisting with dark matter without interaction. In this work, we have considered the same dark energy inter- acting with dark matter in emergent, intermediate and logamediate scenarios of the universe. Also, we have investigated the statefinder, kerk and lerk parameters in all three scenarios under this inter- action. The energy density and pressure for the new agegraphic dark energy based on generalized uncertainty principle have been calculated and their behaviors have been investigated. The evolu- tion of the equation of state parameter has been analyzed in the interacting and non-interacting situations in all the three scenarios. The graphical analysis shows that the dark energy behaves like quintessence era for logamediate expansion and phantom era for emergent and intermediate expansions of the universe.

Fractional Action Cosmology: Emergent, Logamediate, Intermediate, Power law Scenarios of the Universe and Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics

In the framework of Fractional Action Cosmology (FAC), we study the generalized second law of thermodynamics for the Friedmann Universe enclosed by a boundary. We use the four well-known cosmic horizons as boundaries namely, apparent horizon, future event horizon, Hubble horizon and particle horizon. We construct the generalized second law (GSL) using and without using the first law of thermodynamics. To check the validity of GSL, we express the law in the form of four different scale factors namely emergent, logamediate, intermediate and power law. For Hubble, apparent and particle horizons, the GSL holds for emergent and logamediate expansions of the universe when we apply with and without using first law. For intermediate scenario, the GSL is valid for Hubble, apparent, particle horizons when we apply with and without first law. Also for intermediate scenario, the GSL is valid for event horizon when we apply first law but it breaks down without using first law. But for power law expansion, the GSL may be valid for some cases and breaks down otherwise.

To get more physical picture of the variation of the scalar field and potential with time, we express scale factor in emergent, logamediate and intermediate scenarios, under which the Universe expands differently.

Generalized Ricci dark energy in Horava-Lifshitz gravity

In this letter, we have considered generalized Ricci dark energy in the Horava-Lifshitz gravity. We have reconstructed the Hubble's parameter in terms of fractional densities. We have viewed the equation of state parameter in this situation. Also, we have examined the behavior of deceleration parameter and investigated the nature of the statefinder diagnostics. The equation of state parameter has exhibited quintessence-like behavior and from the plot of the deceleration parameter we have observed an ever accelerating universe.

Machine-Part cell formation through visual decipherable clustering of Self Organizing Map

Machine-part cell formation is used in cellular manufacturing in order to process a large variety, quality, lower work in process levels, reducing manufacturing lead-time and customer response time while retaining flexibility for new products. This paper presents a new and novel approach for obtaining machine cells and part families. In the cellular manufacturing the fundamental problem is the formation of part families and machine cells. The present paper deals with the Self Organising Map (SOM) method an unsupervised learning algorithm in Artificial Intelligence, and has been used as a visually decipherable clustering tool of machine-part cell formation. The objective of the paper is to cluster the binary machine-part matrix through visually decipherable cluster of SOM color-coding and labelling via the SOM map nodes in such a way that the part families are processed in that machine cells. The Umatrix, component plane, principal component projection, scatter plot and histogram of SOM have been reported in the present work for the successful visualization of the machine-part cell formation. Computational result with the proposed algorithm on a set of group technology problems available in the literature is also presented. The proposed SOM approach produced solutions with a grouping efficacy that is at least as good as any results earlier reported in the literature and improved the grouping efficacy for 70% of the problems and found immensely useful to both industry practitioners and researchers.

Statefinder and Om Diagnostics for Interacting New Holographic Dark Energy Model and Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics

In this work, we have considered that the flat FRW universe is filled with the mixture of dark matter and the new holographic dark energy. If there is an interaction, we have investigated the natures of deceleration parameter, statefinder and $Om$ diagnostics. We have examined the validity of the first and generalized second laws of thermodynamics under these interactions on the event as well as apparent horizon. It has been observed that the first law is violated on the event horizon. However, the generalized second law is valid throughout the evolution of the universe enveloped by the apparent horizon. When the event horizon is considered as the enveloping horizon, the generalized second law is found to break down excepting at late stage of the universe.

Study of Thermodynamic Quantities in Generalized Gravity Theories

In this work, we have studied the thermodynamic quantities like temperature of the universe, heat capacity and squared speed of sound in generalized gravity theories like Brans-Dicke, Ho$\check{\text r}$ava-Lifshitz and $f(R)$ gravities. We have considered the universe filled with dark matter and dark energy. Also we have considered the equation of state parameters for open, closed and flat models. We have observed that in all cases the equation of state behaves like quintessence. The temperature and heat capacity of the universe are found to decrease with the expansion of the universe in all cases. In Brans-Dicke and $f(R)$ gravity theories the squared speed of sound is found to exhibit increasing behavior for open, closed and flat models and in Ho$\check{\text r}$ava-Lifshitz gravity theory it is found to exhibit decreasing behavior for open and closed models with the evolution of the universe. However, for flat universe, the squared speed of sound remains constant in Ho$\check{\text r}$ava-Lifshitz gravity.

Validity of Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics in the Logamediate and Intermediate scenarios of the Universe

In this work, we have investigated the validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics in logamediate and intermediate scenarios of the universe bounded by the Hubble, apparent, particle and event horizons using and without using first law of thermodynamics. We have observed that the GSL is valid for Hubble, apparent, particle and event horizons of the universe in the logamediate scenario of the universe using first law and without using first law. Similarly the GSL is valid for all horizons in the intermediate scenario of the universe using first law. Also in the intermediate scenario of the universe, the GSL is valid for Hubble, apparent and particle horizons but it breaks down whenever we consider the universe enveloped by the event horizon.

Correspondence between Ricci and other dark energies

Purpose of the present paper is to view the correspondence between Ricci and other dark energies. We have considered the Ricci dark energy in presence of dark matter in non-interacting situation. Subsequently, we have derived the pressure and energy density for Ricci dark energy. The equation of state parameter has been generated from these pressure and energy density. Next, we have considered the correspondence between Ricci and other dark energy models, namely tachyonic field, DBI-essence and new agegraphic dark energy without any interaction and investigated possible cosmological consequences.

Generalized second law of thermodynamics in presence of interacting DBI essence and other dark energies

In the present work we investigated the validity of the generalized second law (GSL) of thermo- dynamics in presence of interaction between DBI-essence and other four candidates of dark energy namely modified Chaplygin gas, hessence, tachyonic field and new agegraphic dark energy. It has been observed that the GSL breaks down in presence of the interactions. However, the event horizon remains to be an increasing function of time.

Generalized second law of thermodynamics in presence of interacting tachyonic field and scalar(phantom)field

In the present work, we have considered tachyonic field, phantom field and scalar field in both interacting and non-interacting situations and investigated the validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics in a flat FRW universe. We found that in all cases, excepting the phantom field dominated universe, the derivative of the entropy is remaining at negative level and is increasing with the decrease in the redshift.

Interaction between DBI-essence and other Dark Energies

The present work considers interaction between DBI-essence and other candidates of dark energies like modified Chaplygin gas, hessence, tachyonic field, and new agegraphic dark energy. The potentials of the fields have been reconstructed under interaction and their evolutions have been viewed against cosmic time $t$ and scalar field $ϕ$. Equation of state parameters have also been obtained. The nature of potentials and the equation of state parameters of the dark energies have been found graphically in presence of interaction (both small and large interaction).

Interaction between phantom field and modified Chaplygin gas

In this letter, we have considered a flat FRW universe. Instead of considering only one candidate for dark energy, we have considered interaction between phantom field and modified Chaplygin gas. It has been shown that the potential of the phantom field increases from a lower value with evolution of the Universe. It has been observed that, the field has an increasing tendency and potential has also an increasing tendency with passage of cosmic time. In the evolution of the universe the crossing of $w=-1$ has been realized by this interacting model.

Interaction between Tachyon and Hessence (or Hantom) dark energies

In this paper, we have considered that the universe is filled with tachyon, hessence (or hantom) dark energies. Subsequently we have investigated the interactions between tachyon and hessence (hantom) dark energies and calculated the potentials considering the power law form of the scale factor. It has been revealed that the tachyonic potential always decreases and hessence (or hantom) potential increases with corresponding fields. Furthermore, we have considered a correspondence between the hessence (or hantom) dark energy density and new variable modified Chaplygin gas energy density. From this, we have found the expressions of the arbitrary positive constants B0 and C of new variable modified Chaplygin gas.

Multivariate forecast of winter monsoon rainfall in India using SST anomaly as a predictor: Neurocomputing and statistical approaches

In this paper, the complexities in the relationship between rainfall and sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies during the winter monsoon (November-January) over India were evaluated statistically using scatter plot matrices and autocorrelation functions.Linear as well as polynomial trend equations were obtained and it was observed that the coefficient of determination for the linear trend was very low and it remained low even when polynomial trend of degree six was used. An exponential regression equation and an artificial neural network with extensive variable selection were generated to forecast the average winter monsoon rainfall of a given year using the rainfall amounts and the sea surface temperature anomalies in the winter monsoon months of the previous year as predictors. The regression coefficients for the multiple exponential regression equation were generated using Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. The artificial neural network was generated in the form of a multiplayer perceptron with sigmoid non-linearity and genetic-algorithm based variable selection. Both of the predictive models were judged statistically using the Willmott index, percentage error of prediction, and prediction yields. The statistical assessment revealed the potential of artificial neural network over exponential regression.
