A Markov process for a continuum infinite particle system with attraction

An infinite system of point particles placed in $\mathds{R}^d$ is studied. The particles are of two types; they perform random walks in the course of which those of distinct types repel each other. The interaction of this kind induces an effective multi-body attraction of the same type particles, which leads to the multiplicity of states of thermal equilibrium in such systems. The pure states of the system are locally finite counting measures on $\mathds{R}^d$. The set of such states $Γ^2$ is equipped with the vague topology and the corresponding Borel $σ$-field. For a special class $\mathcal{P}_{\rm exp}$ of probability measures defined on $Γ^2$, we prove the existence of a family $\{P_{t,μ}: t\geq 0, \ μ\in \mathcal{P}_{\rm exp}\}$ of probability measures defined on the space of c{à}dl{à}g paths with values in $Γ^2$, which is a unique solution of the restricted martingale problem for the mentioned stochastic dynamics. Thereby, the corresponding Markov process is specified.

Path continuity of Markov processes and locality of Kolmogorov operators

We prove that if we are given a generator of a cadlag Markov process and an open domain $G$ in the state space, on which the generator has the local property expressed in a suitable way on a class $\mathcal{C}$ of test functions that is sufficiently rich, then the Markov process has continuous paths when it passes through $G$. The result holds for any Markov process which is associated with the generator merely on $\mathcal{C}$. This points out that the path continuity of the process is an a priori property encrypted by the generator acting on enough test functions, and this property can be easily checked in many situations. The approach uses potential theoretic tools and covers Markov processes associated with (possibly time-dependent) second order integro-differential operators (e.g., through the martingale problem) defined on domains in Hilbert spaces or on spaces of measures.

Solutions for nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations with measures as initial data and McKean-Vlasov equations

One proves the existence and uniqueness of a generalized (mild) solution for the nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation (FPE) \begin{align*} &u_t-Δ(β(u))+{\mathrm{ div}}(D(x)b(u)u)=0, \quad t\geq0,\ x\in\mathbb{R}^d,\ d\ne2, \\ &u(0,\cdot)=u_0,\mbox{in }\mathbb{R}^d, \end{align*} where $u_0\in L^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$, $β\in C^2(\mathbb{R})$ is a nondecreasing function, $b\in C^1$, bounded, $b\ge0$, $D\in {L^\infty}(\mathbb{R}^d;\mathbb{R}^d)$, ${\rm div}\,D\in L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)+L^\infty(\mathbb{R}^d),$ with ${({\rm div}\, D)^-}\in L^\infty(\mathbb{R}^d)$, $β$ strictly increasing, if $b$ is not constant. Moreover, $t\to u(t,u_0)$ is a semigroup of contractions in $L^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$, which leaves invariant the set of probability density functions in $\mathbb{R}^d$. If ${\rm div}\,D\ge0$, $β'(r)\ge a|r|^{α-1}$, and $|β(r)|\le C r^α$, $α\ge1,$ $d\ge3$, then $|u(t)|_{L^\infty}\le Ct^{-\frac d{d+(α-1)d}}\ |u_0|^{\frac2{2+(m-1)d}},$ $t>0$, and, if $D\in L^2(\mathbb{R}^d;\mathbb{R}^d)$, the existence extends to initial data $u_0$ in the space $\mathcal{M}_b$ of bounded measures in $\mathbb{R}^d$. As a consequence for arbitrary initial laws, we obtain weak solutions to a class of McKean-Vlasov SDEs with coefficients which have singular dependence on the time marginal laws.

Strong convergence of propagation of chaos for McKean-Vlasov SDEs with singular interactions

In this work we show the strong convergence of propagation of chaos for the particle approximation of McKean-Vlasov SDEs with singular $L^p$-interactions as well as for the moderate interaction particle systems on the level of particle trajectories. One of the main obstacles is to establish the strong well-posedness of the SDEs for particle systems with singular interaction. To this end, we extend the results on strong well-posedness of Krylov and Röckner \cite{Kr-Ro} to the case of mixed $L^p$-drifts, where the heat kernel estimates play a crucial role. Moreover, when the interaction kernel is bounded measurable, we also obtain the optimal rate of strong convergence, which is partially based on Jabin and Wang's entropy method \cite{JW16} and Zvonkin's transformation.

The evolution to equilibrium of solutions to nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation

One proves the $H$-theorem for mild solutions to a nondegenerate, nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation $$ u_t-Δβ(u)+{\rm div}(D(x)b(u)u)=0, \ t\geq0, \ x\in\mathbb{R}^d,\qquad (1)$$ and under appropriate hypotheses on $β,$ $D$ and $b$ the convergence in $L^1_\textrm{loc}(\mathbb{R}^d)$, $L^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$, respectively, for some $t_n\to\infty$ of the solution $u(t_n)$ to an equilibrium state of the equation for a large set of nonnegative initial data in $L^1$. These results are new in the literature on nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations arising in the mean field theory and are also relevant to the theory of stochastic differential equations. As a matter of fact, by the above convergence result, it follows that the solution to the McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equation corresponding to (1), which is a nonlinear distorted Brownian motion, has this equilibrium state as its unique invariant measure. Keywords: Fokker-Planck equation, $m$-accretive operator, probability density, Lyapunov function, $H$-theorem, McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equation, nonlinear distorted Brownian motion. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification: 35B40, 35Q84, 60H10.

Zvonkin's transform and the regularity of solutions to double divergence form elliptic equations

We study qualitative properties of solutions to double divergence form elliptic equations (or stationary Kolmogorov equations) on~$\mathbb{R}^d$. It is shown that the Harnack inequality holds for nonnegative solutions if the diffusion matrix $A$ is nondegenerate and satisfies the Dini mean oscillation condition and the drift coefficient $b$ is locally integrable to a power $p>d$. We establish new estimates for the $L^p$-norms of solutions and obtain a generalization of the known theorem of Hasminskii on the existence of a probability solution to the stationary Kolmogorov equation to the case where the matrix $A$ satisfies Dini's condition or belongs to the class VMO. These results are based on a new analytic version of Zvonkin's transform of the drift coefficient.

Schauder theorems for a class of (pseudo-)differential operators on finite and infinite dimensional state spaces

We prove maximal regularity results in Hölder and Zygmund spaces for linear stationary and evolution equations driven by a large class of differential and pseudo-differential operators L, both in finite and in infinite dimension. The assumptions are given in terms of the semigroup generated by L. We cover the cases of fractional Laplacians and Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operators with fractional diffusion in finite dimension, and several types of local and nonlocal Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operators, as well as the Gross Laplacian and its negative powers, in infinite dimension.

Strong dissipativity of generalized time-fractional derivatives and quasi-linear (stochastic) partial differential equations

In this paper strong dissipativity of generalized time-fractional derivatives on Gelfand triples of properly in time weighted $L^p$-path spaces is proved. In particular, the classical Caputo derivative is included as a special case. As a consequence one obtains the existence and uniqueness of solutions to evolution equations on Gelfand triples with generalized time-fractional derivatives. These equations are of type \begin{equation*} \frac{d}{dt} (k * u)(t) + A(t, u(t)) = f(t), \quad 0<t<T, \end{equation*} with (in general nonlinear) operators $A(t,\cdot)$ satisfying general weak monotonicity conditions. Here $k$ is a non-increasing locally Lebesgue-integrable nonnegative function on $[0, \infty)$ with $\underset{s\rightarrow\infty}{\lim}k(s)=0$. Analogous results for the case, where $f$ is replaced by a time-fractional additive noise, are obtained as well. Applications include generalized time-fractional quasi-linear (stochastic) partial differential equations. In particular, time-fractional (stochastic) porous medium and fast diffusion equations with ordinary or fractional Laplace operators or the time-fractional (stochastic) $p$-Laplace equation are covered.

Averaging principle for slow-fast stochastic differential equations with time dependent locally Lipschitz coefficients

This paper is devoted to studying the averaging principle for stochastic differential equations with slow and fast time-scales, where the drift coefficients satisfy local Lipschitz conditions with respect to the slow and fast variables, and the coefficients in the slow equation depend on time $t$ and $ω$. Making use of the techniques of time discretization and truncation, we prove that the slow component strongly converges to the solution of the corresponding averaged equation.

Diffusion approximation for fully coupled stochastic differential equations

We consider a Poisson equation in $\mathbb R^d$ for the elliptic operator corresponding to an ergodic diffusion process. Optimal regularity and smoothness with respect to the parameter are obtained under mild conditions on the coefficients. The result is then applied to establish a general diffusion approximation for fully coupled multi-time-scales stochastic differential equations with only Hölder continuous coefficients. Four different averaged equations as well as rates of convergence are obtained. Moreover, the convergence is shown to rely only on the regularities of the coefficients with respect to the slow variable, and does not depend on their regularities with respect to the fast component.

Euler scheme for density dependent stochastic differential equations

In this paper we show the existence and uniqueness for a class of density dependent SDEs with bounded measurable drift, where the existence part is based on Euler's approximation for density dependent SDEs and the uniqueness is based on the associated nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation. As an application, we obtain the well-posedness of a nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation.

Nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations for Probability Measures on Path Space and Path-Distribution Dependent SDEs

By investigating path-distribution dependent stochastic differential equations, the following type of nonlinear Fokker--Planck equations for probability measures $(μ_t)_{t \geq 0}$ on the path space $\mathcal C:=C([-r_0,0];\mathbb R^d),$ is analyzed: $$\partial_t μ(t)=L_{t,μ_t}^*μ_t,\ \ t\ge 0,$$ where $μ(t)$ is the image of $μ_t$ under the projection $\mathcal C\niξ\mapsto ξ(0)\in\mathbb R^d$, and $$L_{t,μ}(ξ):= \frac 1 2\sum_{i,j=1}^d a_{ij}(t,ξ,μ)\frac{\partial^2} {\partial_{ξ(0)_i} \partial_{ξ(0)_j}} +\sum_{i=1}^d b_i(t,ξ,μ)\frac{\partial}{\partial_{ξ(0)_i}},\ \ t\ge 0, ξ\in \mathcal C, μ\in \mathcal P^{\mathcal C}.$$ Under reasonable conditions on the coefficients $a_{ij}$ and $b_i$, the existence, uniqueness, Lipschitz continuity in Wasserstein distance, total variational norm and entropy, as well as derivative estimates are derived for the martingale solutions.

Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes with singular drifts: integral estimates and Girsanov densities

We consider a perturbation of a Hilbert space-valued Ornstein--Uhlenbeck process by a class of singular nonlinear non-autonomous maximal monotone time-dependent drifts. The only further assumption on the drift is that it is bounded on balls in the Hilbert space uniformly in time. First we introduce a new notion of generalized solutions for such equations which we call pseudo-weak solutions and prove that they always exist and obtain pathwise estimates in terms of the data of the equation. Then we prove that their laws are absolutely continuous with respect to the law of the original Ornstein--Uhlenbeck process. In particular, we show that pseudo-weak solutions always have continuous sample paths. In addition, we obtain integrability estimates of the associated Girsanov densities. Some of our results concern non-random equations as well, while probabilistic results are new even in finite-dimensional autonomous settings.

A new approach to the existence of invariant measures for Markovian semigroups

We give a new, two-step approach to prove existence of finite invariant measures for a given Markovian semigroup. First, we identify a convenient auxiliary measure and then we prove conditions equivalent to the existence of an invariant finite measure which is absolutely continuous with respect to it. As applications, we give a short proof for the result of Lasota and Szarek on invariant measures and we obtain a unifying generalization of different versions for Harris ergodic theorem which provides an answer to an open question of Tweedie. We show that for a nonlinear SPDE on a Gelfand triple, the strict coercivity condition is sufficient to guarantee the existence of a unique invariant probability measure for the associated semigroup, once it satisfies a Harnack type inequality. A corollary of the main result shows that any uniformly bounded semigroup on $L^p$ possesses an invariant measures and we give some applications to sectorial perturbations of Dirichlet forms.

Doubly probabilistic representation for the stochastic porous media type equation

The purpose of the present paper consists in proposing and discussing a doubly probabilistic representation for a stochastic porous media equation in the whole space R^1 perturbed by a multiplicative coloured noise. For almost all random realizations $ω$, one associates a stochastic differential equation in law with random coefficients, driven by an independent Brownian motion.

Non-symmetric distorted Brownian motion: strong solutions, strong Feller property and non-explosion results

Using elliptic regularity results in weighted spaces, stochastic calculus and the theory of non-symmetric Dirichlet forms, we first show weak existence of non-symmetric distorted Brownian motion for any starting point in some domain $E$ of $\mathbb{R}^d$, where $E$ is explicitly given as the points of strict positivity of the unique continuous version of the density to its invariant measure. Non-symmetric distorted Brownian motion is a singular diffusion, i.e. a diffusion that typically has an unbounded and discontinuous drift. Once having shown weak existence, we obtain from a result of \cite{KR} that the constructed weak solution is indeed strong and weakly as well as pathwise unique up to its explosion time. As a consequence of our approach, we can use the theory of Dirichlet forms to prove further properties of the solutions. More precisely, we obtain new non-explosion criteria for them. We finally present concrete existence and non-explosion results for non-symmetric distorted Brownian motion related to a class of Muckenhoupt weights and corresponding divergence free perturbations.

Optimal bilinear control of nonlinear stochastic Schrödinger equations driven by linear multiplicative noise

Here is investigated the bilinear optimal control problem of quantum mechanical systems with final observation governed by a stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equation perturbed by a linear multiplicative Wiener process. The existence of an open loop optimal control and first order Lagrange optimality conditions are derived, via Skorohod's representation theorem, Ekeland's variational principle and the existence for the linearized dual backward stochastic equation. Moreover, our approach in particular applies to the deterministic case.

About the infinite dimensional skew and obliquely reflected Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process

Based on an integration by parts formula for closed and convex subsets $Γ$ of a separable real Hilbert space $H$ with respect to a Gaussian measure, we first construct and identify the infinite dimensional analogue of the obliquely reflected Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process (perturbed by a bounded drift $B$) by means of a Skorokhod type decomposition. The variable oblique reflection at a reflection point of the boundary $\partial Γ$ is uniquely described through a reflection angle and a direction in the tangent space (more precisely through an element of the orthogonal complement of the normal vector) at the reflection point. In case of normal reflection at the boundary of a regular convex set and under some monotonicity condition on $B$, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a strong solution to the corresponding SDE. Subsequently, we consider an increasing sequence $(Γ_{α_k})_{k\in\mathbb{Z}}$ of closed and convex subsets of $H$ and the skew reflection problem at the boundaries of this sequence. We present concrete examples and obtain as a special case the infinite dimensional analogue of the $p$-skew reflected Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process.

Irreducible recurrence, ergodicity, and extremality of invariant measures for resolvents

We analyze the transience, recurrence, and irreducibility properties of general sub- Markovian resolvents of kernels and their duals, with respect to a fixed sub-invariant measure $m$. We give a unifying characterization of the invariant functions, revealing the fact that an $L^p$-integrable function is harmonic if and only if it is harmonic with respect to the weak dual resolvent. Our approach is based on potential theoretical techniques for resolvents in weak duality. We prove the equivalence between the $m$-irreducible recurrence of the resolvent and the extremality of $m$ in the set of all invariant measures, and we apply this result to the extremality of Gibbs states. We also show that our results can be applied to non-symmetric Dirichlet forms, in general and in concrete situations. A second application is the extension of the so called Fukushima ergodic theorem for symmetric Dirichlet forms to the case of sub-Markovian resolvents of kernels.

Restricted Markov uniqueness for the stochastic quantization of $P(Φ)_2$ and its applications

In this paper we obtain restricted Markov uniqueness of the generator and uniqueness of probabilistically weak solutions for the stochastic quantization problem in both the finite and infinite volume case by clarifying the precise relation between the solutions to the stochastic quantization problem obtained by the Dirichlet form approach and those obtained in [DD03] and in [MW15]. We prove that the solution $X-Z$, where $X$ is obtained by the Dirichlet form approach in [AR91] and $Z$ is the corresponding O-U process, satisfies the corresponding shifted equation (see (1.4) below). Moreover, we obtain that the infinite volume $P(Φ)_2$ quantum field is an invariant measure for the $X_0=Y+Z$, where $Y$ is the unique solution to the shifted equation.

Singular-degenerate multivalued stochastic fast diffusion equations

We consider singular-degenerate, multivalued stochastic fast diffusion equations with multiplicative Lipschitz continuous noise. In particular, this includes the stochastic sign fast diffusion equation arising from the Bak-Tang-Wiesenfeld model for self-organized criticality. A well-posedness framework based on stochastic variational inequalities (SVI) is developed, characterizing solutions to the stochastic sign fast diffusion equation, previously obtained in a limiting sense only. Aside from generalizing the SVI approach to stochastic fast diffusion equations we develop a new proof of well-posedness, applicable to general diffusion coefficients. In case of linear multiplicative noise, we prove the existence of (generalized) strong solutions, which entails higher regularity properties of solutions than previously known.

Sub and supercritical stochastic quasi-geostrophic equation

In this paper, we study the 2D stochastic quasi-geostrophic equation on $\mathbb{T}^2$ for general parameter $α\in(0,1)$ and multiplicative noise. We prove the existence of weak solutions and Markov selections for multiplicative noise for all $α\in(0,1)$. In the subcritical case $α>1/2$, we prove existence and uniqueness of (probabilistically) strong solutions. Moreover, we prove ergodicity for the solution of the stochastic quasi-geostrophic equations in the subcritical case driven by possibly degenerate noise. The law of large numbers for the solution of the stochastic quasi-geostrophic equations in the subcritical case is also established. In the case of nondegenerate noise and $α>2/3$ in addition exponential ergodicity is proved.

Our approach is mainly based on the rescaling approach and the method of maximal monotone operators. In addition, uniform estimates of solutions in the energy space $H^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$ and in an appropriate Orlicz space are also obtained here.

A note on stochastic semilinear equations and their associated Fokker-Planck equations

In this paper we treat semilinear stochastic partial differential equations by two methods. First, we extend the framework of [BDR10] from a Hilbert space to a Gelfand triple and as an application we prove the existence of solutions for the Fokker-Planck equations associated to semilinear equations with space-time white noise and both with polynomially growing nonlinearities and Burgers type nonlinearities at the same time. Second we adopt the approximation technique from [BDR10] to obtain existence of unique strong solutions to semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by space-time white noise, generalizing corresponding known results from the literature.

Stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations

This paper is devoted to the well-posedness of stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations in the energy space H1(Rd), which is a natural continuation of our recent work [1]. We consider both focusing and defocusing nonlinearities and prove global well-posedness in H1(Rd), including also the pathwise continuous dependence on initial conditions, with exponents exactly the same as in the deterministic case. In particular, this work improves earlier results in [4]. Moreover, the local existence, uniqueness and blowup alternative are also established for the energy-critical case. The approach presented here is mainly based on the rescaling approach already used in [1] to study the L2 case and also on the Strichartz estimates established in [12] for large perturbations of the Laplacian.

Stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations: no blow-up in the non-conservative case

This paper is devoted to the study of noise effects on blow-up solutions to stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations. It is a continuation of our recent work \cite{BRZ14}, where the (local) well-posedness is established in $H^1$, also in the non-conservative critical case. Here we prove that in the non-conservative focusing mass-(super)critical case, by adding a large multiplicative Gaussian noise, with high probability one can prevent the blow-up on any given bounded time interval $[0,T]$, $0<T<\9$. Moreover, in the case of spatially independent noise, the explosion even can be prevented with high probability on the whole time interval $[0,\9)$. The noise effects obtained here are completely different from those in the conservative case studied in \cite{BD03}.

Stochastic variational inequalities and regularity for degenerate stochastic partial differential equations

The regularity and characterization of solutions to degenerate, quasilinear SPDE is studied. Our results are two-fold: First, we prove regularity results for solutions to certain degenerate, quasilinear SPDE driven by Lipschitz continuous noise. In particular, this provides a characterization of solutions to such SPDE in terms of (generalized) strong solutions. Second, for the one-dimensional stochastic mean curvature flow with normal noise we adapt the notion of stochastic variational inequalities to provide a characterization of solutions previously obtained in a limiting sense only. This solves a problem left open in [Es-Sarhir, von Renesse; SIAM, 2012] and sharpens regularity properties obtained in [Es-Sarhir, von Renesse, Stannat; NoDEA, 2012].

The stochastic porous media equation in $\R^d$

Existence and uniqueness of solutions to the stochastic porous media equation $dX-\Dψ(X) dt=XdW$ in $\rr^d$ are studied. Here, $W$ is a Wiener process, $ψ$ is a maximal monotone graph in $\rr\times\rr$ such that $ψ(r)\le C|r|^m$, $\ff r\in\rr$, $W$ is a coloured Wiener process. In this general case the dimension is restricted to $d\ge 3$, the main reason being the absence of a convenient multiplier result in the space $\calh=\{φ\in\mathcal{S}'(\rr^d);\ |ξ|(\calfφ)(ξ)\in L^2(\rr^d)\}$, for $d\le2$. When $ψ$ is Lipschitz, the well-posedness, however, holds for all dimensions on the classical Sobolev space $H^{-1}(\rr^d)$. If $ψ(r)r\geρ|r|^{m+1}$ and $m=\frac{d-2}{d+2}$, we prove the finite time extinction with strictly positive probability.

BV functions in a Gelfand triple for differentiable measure and its applications

In this paper, we introduce a definition of BV functions for (non-Gaussian) differentiable measure in a Gelfand triple which is an extension of the definition of BV functions in [RZZ12], using Dirichlet form theory. By this definition, we can analyze the reflected stochastic quantization problem associated with a self-adjoint operator $A$ and a cylindrical Wiener process on a convex set $Γ$ in a Banach space $E$. We prove the existence of a martingale solution of this problem if $Γ$ is a regular convex set.

On continuity equations in infinite dimensions with non-Gaussian reference measure

Let $γ$ be a Gaussian measure on a locally convex space and $H$ be the corresponding Cameron-Martin space. It has been recently shown by L. Ambrosio and A. Figalli that the linear first-order PDE $$ \dotρ + \mbox{div}_γ (ρ\cdot {b}) =0, \ \ ρ|_{t=0} = ρ_0, $$ where $ρ_0 \cdot γ$ is a probability measure, admits a weak solution, in particular, under the following assumptions: $$ \|b\|_{H} \in L^p(γ), \ p>1, \ \ \ \exp\bigl(\varepsilon(\mbox{\rm div}_γ b)_{-} \bigr) \in L^1(γ). $$ Applying transportation of measures via triangular maps we prove a similar result for a large class of non-Gaussian probability measures $ν$ on $\R^{\infty}$, under the main assumption that $β_i \in \cap_{n \in \Nat} L^{n}(ν)$ for every $i \in \Nat$, where $β_i$ is the logarithmic derivative of $ν$ along the coordinate $x_i$. We also show uniqueness of the solution for a wide class of measures. This class includes uniformly log-concave Gibbs measures and certain product measures. measures.

Uniqueness for continuity equations in Hilbert spaces with weakly differentiable drift

We prove uniqueness for continuity equations in Hilbert spaces $H$. The corresponding drift $F$ is assumed to be in a first order Sobolev space with respect to some Gaussian measure. As in previous work on the subject, the proof is based on commutator estimates which are infinite dimensional analogues to the classical ones due to DiPerna-Lions. Our general approach is, however, quite different since, instead of considering renormalized solutions, we prove a dense range condition implying uniqueness. In addition, compared to known results by Ambrosio-Figalli and Fang-Luo, we use a different approximation procedure, based on a more regularizing Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup and consider Sobolev spaces of vector fields taking values in $H$ rather than the Cameron-Martin space of the Gaussian measure. This leads to different conditions on the derivative of $F$, which are incompatible with previous work on the subject. Furthermore, we can drop the usual exponential integrability conditions on the Gaussian divergence of $F$, thus improving known uniqueness results in this respect.

Gibbs states over the cone of discrete measures

We construct Gibbs perturbations of the Gamma process on $\mathbbm{R}^d$, which may be used in applications to model systems of densely distributed particles. First we propose a definition of Gibbs measures over the cone of discrete Radon measures on $\mathbbm{R}^d$ and then analyze conditions for their existence. Our approach works also for general Lévy processes instead of Gamma measures. To this end, we need only the assumption that the first two moments of the involved Lévy intensity measures are finite. Also uniform moment estimates for the Gibbs distributions are obtained, which are essential for the construction of related diffusions. Moreover, we prove a Mecke type characterization for the Gamma measures on the cone and an FKG inequality for them.

Heat kernel estimates for an operator with a singular drift and isoperimetric inequalities

We prove upper and lower bounds of the heat kernel for the operator $Δ-\nabla (\frac{1}{|x|^α})\cdot \nabla $ in $\mathbb{R}^{n}\setminus\{0} $ where $α>0$. We obtain these bounds from an isoperimetric inequality for a measure $\mathrm{e}^{-\frac{1}{|x|^α}}dx$ on $\mathbb{R}^{n}\setminus \{0\}$. The latter amounts to a certain functional isoperimetric inequality for the radial part of this measure.

Time inhomogeneous Generalized Mehler Semigroups

A time inhomogeneous generalized Mehler semigroup on a real separable Hilbert space ${\mathds{H}}$ is defined through $$ p_{s,t}f(x)=\int_{\mathds{H}} f(U(t,s)x+y)\,μ_{t,s}(dy), \quad t\geq s, \ x\in{\mathds{H}} $$ for every bounded measurable function $f$ on ${\mathds{H}}$, where $(U(t,s))_{t\geq s}$ is an evolution family of bounded operators on ${\mathds{H}}$ and $(μ_{t,s})_{t\geq s}$ is a family of probability measures on $({\mathds{H}}, \B({\mathds{H}}))$ satisfying the time inhomogeneous skew convolution equations $$μ_{t,s}=μ_{t,r}*(μ_{r,s}\circ U(t,r)^{-1}),\quad t\geq r\geq s.$$ This kind of semigroup is closely related with the transition semigroup" of non-autonomous (possibly non-continuous) Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process driven by some proper additive process. We show the weak continuity, infinite divisibility, associated "additive processes", Lévy-Khintchine type representation, construction and spectral representation of $(μ_{t,s})_{t\geq s}$. We study the structure, existence and uniqueness of the corresponding evolution systems of measures (=space-time invariant measures) of $(p_{s,t})_{t\geq s}$. We also establish dimension free Harnack inequalities in the sense of Wang (1997, PTRF) for $(p_{s,t})_{t\geq s}$. As applications of the Harnack inequalities, we investigate the strong Feller property and contractivity etc. for $p_{s,t}$. On uniqueness of mild solutions for dissipative stochastic evolution equations

In the semigroup approach to stochastic evolution equations, the fundamental issue of uniqueness of mild solutions is often "reduced" to the much easier problem of proving uniqueness for strong solutions. This reduction is usually carried out in a formal way, without really justifying why and how one can do that. We provide sufficient conditions for uniqueness of mild solutions to a broad class of semilinear stochastic evolution equations with coefficients satisfying a monotonicity assumption.

We study the potential theory of a large class of infinite dimensional Lévy processes, including Brownian motion on abstract Wiener spaces. The key result is the construction of compact Lyapunov functions, i.e. excessive functions with compact level sets. Then many techniques from classical potential theory carry over to this infinite dimensional setting. Thus a number of potential theoretic properties and principles can be proved, answering long standing open problems even for the Brownian motion on abstract Wiener space, as e.g. formulated by R. Carmona in 1980. In particular, we prove the analog of the known result, that the Cameron-Martin space is polar, in the Lévy case and apply the technique of controlled convergence to solve the Dirichlet problem with general (not necessarily continuous) boundary data.

SPDE in Hilbert Space with Locally Monotone Coefficients

In this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of strong solutions for SPDE in Hilbert space with locally monotone coefficients, which is a generalization of the classical result of Krylov and Rozovskii for monotone coefficients. Our main result can be applied to different types of SPDEs such as stochastic reaction-diffusion equations, stochastic Burgers type equation, stochastic 2-D Navier-Stokes equation, stochastic $p$-Laplace equation and stochastic porous media equation with some non-monotone perturbations.

Stochastic Tamed 3D Navier-Stokes Equations: Existence, Uniqueness and Ergodicity

In this paper, we prove the existence of a unique strong solution to a stochastic tamed 3D Navier-Stokes equation in the whole space as well as in the periodic boundary case. Then, we also study the Feller property of solutions, and prove the existence of invariant measures for the corresponding Feller semigroup in the case of periodic conditions. Moreover, in the case of periodic boundary and degenerated additive noise, using the notion of asymptotic strong Feller property proposed by Hairer and Mattingly \cite{Ha-Ma}, we prove the uniqueness of invariant measures for the corresponding transition semigroup.

Well-posedness and asymptotic behavior for stochastic reaction-diffusion equations with multiplicative Poisson noise

We establish well-posedness in the mild sense for a class of stochastic semilinear evolution equations with a polynomially growing quasi-monotone nonlinearity and multiplicative Poisson noise. We also study existence and uniqueness of invariant measures for the associated semigroup in the Markovian case. A key role is played by a new maximal inequality for stochastic convolutions in $L_p$ spaces.

Kolmogorov equations in infinite dimensions: Well-posedness and regularity of solutions, with applications to stochastic generalized Burgers equations

We develop a new method to uniquely solve a large class of heat equations, so-called Kolmogorov equations in infinitely many variables. The equations are analyzed in spaces of sequentially weakly continuous functions weighted by proper (Lyapunov type) functions. This way for the first time the solutions are constructed everywhere without exceptional sets for equations with possibly nonlocally Lipschitz drifts. Apart from general analytic interest, the main motivation is to apply this to uniquely solve martingale problems in the sense of Stroock--Varadhan given by stochastic partial differential equations from hydrodynamics, such as the stochastic Navier--Stokes equations. In this paper this is done in the case of the stochastic generalized Burgers equation. Uniqueness is shown in the sense of Markov flows.

Global Regularity and Bounds for Solutions of Parabolic Equations for Probability Measures

Given a second order parabolic operator $$ Lu(t,x) :=\frac{\partial u(t,x)}{\partial t} + a^{ij}(t,x)\partial_{x_i}\partial_{x_j}u(t,x) + b^i(t,x)\partial_{x_i}u(t,x), $$ we consider the weak parabolic equation $L^{*}μ=0$ for Borel probability measures on $(0,1)\times\mathbb{R}^d$. The equation is understood as the equality $$ \int_{(0,1)\times\mathbb{R}^d} Lu dμ=0 $$ for all smooth functions $u$ with compact support in~$(0,1)\times\mathbb{R}^d$. This equation is satisfied for the transition probabilities of the diffusion process associated with~$L$. We show that under broad assumptions $μ$ has the form $μ=\varrho(t,x) dt dx$, where the function $x\mapsto \varrho(t,x)$ is Sobolev, $|\nabla_x \varrho(x,t)|^2/\varrho(t,x)$ is Lebesgue integrable over $[0,τ]\times\mathbb{R}^d$, and $\varrho\in L^p([0,τ]\times\mathbb{R}^d)$ for all $p\in [1,+\infty)$ and $τ<1$. Moreover, a sufficient condition for the uniform boundedness of $\varrho$ on $[0,τ]\times\mathbb{R}^d$ is given.

A support property for infinite dimensional interacting diffusion processes

The Dirichlet form associated with the intrinsic gradient on Poisson space is known to be quasi-regular on the complete metric space $\ddotΓ=$ $\{Z_+$-valued Radon measures on $\IR^d\}$. We show that under mild conditions, the set $\ddotΓ\setminusΓ$ is $\e$-exceptional, where $Γ$ is the space of locally finite configurations in $\IR^d$, that is, measures $γ\in\ddotΓ$ satisfying $\sup_{x\in\IR^d}γ(\{x\})\leq 1$. Thus, the associated diffusion lives on the smaller space $Γ$. This result also holds for Gibbs measures with superstable interactions.

Rademacher's theorem on configuration spaces and applications

We consider an $L^2$-Wasserstein type distance $ρ$ on the configuration space $Γ_X$ over a Riemannian manifold $X$, and we prove that $ρ$-Lipschitz functions are contained in a Dirichlet space associated with a measure on $Γ_X$ satisfying some general assumptions. These assumptions are in particular fulfilled by a large class of tempered grandcanonical Gibbs measures with respect to a superstable lower regular pair potential. As an application we prove a criterion in terms of $ρ$ for a set to be exceptional. This result immediately implies, for instance, a quasi-sure version of the spatial ergodic theorem. We also show that $ρ$ is optimal in the sense that it is the intrinsic metric of our Dirichlet form.

Stochastic analysis on configuration spaces: basic ideas and recent results

The purpose of this paper is to provide a both comprehensive and summarizing account on recent results about analysis and geometry on configuration spaces $Γ_X$ over Riemannian manifolds $X$. Particular emphasis is given to a complete description of the so--called ``lifting--procedure'', Markov resp. strong resp. $L^1$--uniqueness results, the non--conservative case, the interpretation of the constructed diffusions as solutions of the respective classical ``heuristic'' stochastic differential equations, and a self--contained presentation of a general closability result for the corresponding pre--Dirichlet forms. The latter is presented in the general case of arbitrary (not necessarily pair) potentials describing the singular interactions. A support property for the diffusions, the intrinsic metric, and a Rademacher theorem on $Γ_X$, recently proved, are also discussed.
