Shadow of a circular disformal Kerr black hole beyond GR

We have studied the shadows of a circular disformal Kerr black hole with a deformation parameter, which represents a rotating solution within a generalized scalar-tensor framework of Horndeski gravity that characterized by second-order field equations. Our result show that for the non-rotating case, the shadow remains perfectly circular, with its radius independent of the deformation parameter. For the rotating case, the size of the shadow decreases as the deformation parameter decreases, and the shape of the shadow gradually becomes more flattened. It is worth noting that while the shadow of a rotating black hole remains north-south symmetric for equatorial observers, this symmetry is broken once the observer moves away from the equatorial plane. For an observer in the northern hemisphere, the geometric center of the shadow shifts northward when $D_0<0$ and southward when $D_0>0$, while the opposite behavior occurs for observers in the southern hemisphere. These features in the black hole shadow originating from the scalar field could help us to understand the circular disformal Kerr black hole and generalized scalar-tensor framework of Horndeski gravity.

Charged Dirac perturbations on Reissner-Nordström black holes in a cavity: quasinormal modes with Robin boundary conditions

We investigate charged Dirac quasinormal spectra on Reissner-Nordström black holes in a mirror-like cavity. For this purpose, we first derive charged Dirac equations, and \textit{two} sets of Robin boundary conditions following the vanishing energy flux principle. The Dirac spectra are then computed both analytically and numerically. Our results reveal a symmetry hidden in the Dirac spectra between two boundary conditions. Moreover, when the cavity is placed close to the event horizon $r_+$, we identify that, in the neutral background the Dirac spectra asymptote to $-(3/8+N/2)i$ [$-(1/8+N/2)i$] for the first [second] boundary condition; while in the charged background the real part of charged Dirac spectra asymptote to $qQ/r_+$ for both boundary conditions; where $N$ is the overtone number, $q$ and $Q$ are charges for the field and for the background. In particular, we uncover a striking anomalous decay pattern, $i.e.$ the excited modes decay \textit{slower} than the fundamental mode, when the charge coupling $qQ$ is large. Our results further illustrate the robustness of vanishing energy flux principle, which are applicable not only to anti-de Sitter black holes but also to black holes in a cavity.

Effects of tidal charge on Blandford-Znajek process around braneworld black holes

The Blandford-Znajek (BZ) process is a pivotal mechanism to efficiently extract the energy from a rotating black hole (BH) via its plasma-filled magnetosphere in relativistic astrophysics. Within the framework of extended BZ monopole expansion, we have studied BZ process in the Randall-Sundrum braneworld BH spacetime and analyzed effects of the tidal charge on the energy and angular momentum extraction rates. It is found that the positive tidal charge reduces the BZ power of a braneworld BH, while the negative tidal charge enhances the power. Compared with a Kerr BH of the same mass and angular velocity, the BZ power exhibits a maximum reduction of approximately $15.2\%$ in positive cases, whereas in negative cases, it achieves a maximum enhancement of $66.5\%$ in power output. A similar qualitative trend is also observed for the relative angular momentum extraction rate, albeit with different magnitudes.

Constraint on parameters of a rotating black hole in Einstein-bumblebee theory by quasi-periodic oscillations

We have studied quasi-periodic oscillations frequencies in a rotating black hole with Lorentz symmetry breaking parameter in Einstein-bumblebee gravity by relativistic precession model. We find that in the rotating case with non-zero spin parameter both of the periastron and nodal precession frequencies increase with the Lorentz symmetry breaking parameter, but the azimuthal frequency decreases. In the non-rotating black hole case, the nodal precession frequency disappears for arbitrary Lorentz symmetry breaking parameter. With the observation data of GRO J1655-40, XTE J1550-564, and GRS 1915+105, we find that the constraint on the Lorentz symmetry breaking parameter is more precise with data of GRO J1655-40 in which the best-fit value of the Lorentz symmetry breaking parameter is negative. This could lead to that the rotating black hole in Einstein-bumblebee gravity owns the higher Hawking temperature and the stronger Hawking radiation, but the lower possibility of exacting energy by Penrose process. However, in the range of $1 σ$, we also find that general relativity remains to be consistent with the observation data of GRO J1655-40, XTE J1550-564 and GRS 1915+105.

Does relativistic motion always degrade quantum Fisher information?

We investigate the ultimate estimation precision, characterized by the quantum Fisher information, of a two-level atom as a detector which is coupled to massless scalar field in the Minkowski vacuum. It has been shown that for an inertial detector moving with a constant velocity, its quantum Fisher information is completely unaffected by the velocity, however, it still decays over time due to the decoherence caused by the interaction between the atom and the field. In addition, for a uniformly accelerated detector ($w=0$) moving along spatially straight line, the accelerated motion will reduce the quantum Fisher information in the estimation of state parameters. However, when the detector trajectory is generated by a combination of the linear accelerated motion and a component of the four-velocity $w=dy/dτ$, we find quite unlike the previous results that, for the non-relativistic case $(w\ll1)$, the acceleration could degrade the quantum Fisher information, while the four-velocity component will suppress the degradation of the quantum Fisher information, and thus could enhance the precision of parameters estimation. Furthermore, in the case for ultra-relativistic velocities $(w\rightarrow\infty)$, although the detector still interacts with the environment, it behaves as if it were a closed system as a consequence of relativity correction associated to the velocity, and the quantum Fisher information in this case can be shield from the effect of the external environment, and thus from the relativistic motion.

Effect of noncircularity on the dynamic behaviors of particles in a disformal rotating black-hole spacetime

A disformal rotating black-hole solution is a black-hole solution in quadratic degenerate higher-order scalar-tensor theories. It breaks the circular condition of spacetime different from the case of the usual Kerr spacetime. This study investigated the dynamic behaviors of the motion of timelike particles in such disformal black-hole spacetime with an extra deformation parameter. Results showed that the characteristics of the particle's motion depend on the sign of the deformation parameter. For the positive deformation parameter, the motion is regular and orderly. For the negative one, as the deformation parameter changes, the motion of the particles undergoes a series of transitions between the chaotic motion and the regular motion and falls into the horizon or escapes to spatial infinity. This means that the dynamic behavior of timelike particles in the disformal Kerr black-hole spacetime with noncircularity becomes richer than that in the usual Kerr black-hole case.

Excited states of holographic superconductors with hyperscaling violation

We employ the numerical and analytical methods to study the effects of the hyperscaling violation on the ground and excited states of holographic superconductors for $d=2,~z=2$. For both the holographic s-wave and p-wave models with the hyperscaling violation, we observe that the excited state has a lower critical temperature than the corresponding ground state, which is similar to the relativistic case, and the difference of the dimensionless critical chemical potential between the consecutive states decreases as the hyperscaling violation increases. Interestingly, as we amplify the hyperscaling violation in the s-wave model, the critical temperature of the ground state first decreases and then increases, but that of the excited states always decreases. In the p-wave model, regardless of the ground state or the excited states, the critical temperature always decreases with increasing the hyperscaling violation. In addition, we find that the hyperscaling violation affects the conductivity $σ$ which has $n$ peaks for the $n$-th excited state, and changes the relation in the gap frequency for the excited states in both s-wave and p-wave models.

Probing cosmic string spacetime through parameter estimation

Quantum metrology studies the ultimate precision limit of physical quantities by using quantum strategy. In this paper we apply the quantum metrology technologies to the relativistic framework for estimating the deficit angle parameter of cosmic string spacetime. We use a two-level atom coupled to electromagnetic fields as the probe and derive its dynamical evolution by treating it as an open quantum system. We estimate the deficit angle parameter by calculating its quantum Fisher information(QFI). It is found that the quantum Fisher information depends on the deficit angle, evolution time, detector initial state, polarization direction, and its position. We then identify the optimal estimation strategies, i.e., maximize the quantum Fisher information via all the associated parameters, and therefore optimize the precision of estimation. Our results show that for different polarization cases the QFIs have different behaviors and different orders of magnitude, which may shed light on the exploration of cosmic string spacetime.

Tidal effects of dark matter halo around a galactic black hole

We have investigated the tidal forces and geodesic deviation motion in the spacetime of a black hole in the galaxy with dark matter halo. Our results show that the tidal force and geodesic deviation motion depend on the dark matter halo mass and the typical lengthscale of galaxy. The effect of the typical lengthscale of galaxy on tidal force is opposite to that of dark matter mass. For the radial tidal force, with the increasing mass of dark matter, it increases in the region far from the black hole, but decreases in the region near black hole. For the angular tidal force, its absolute value of angular tidal force monotonously increases with the dark matter halo mass. Especially, the angular tidal force also depends on the particle's energy and the effects of dark matter become more distinct for the test particle with high energy, which is different from those in the usual static black hole spacetimes. We also present the change of geodesic deviation vector with the dark matter halo mass and the typical lengthscale of galaxy under two kinds of initial conditions.

Distribution and generation of quantum coherence for Gaussian states in de Sitter space

We study the distribution and generation of quantum coherence for two-mode and multi-mode Gaussian states in de Sitter space. It is found that the quantum coherence is redistributed among the mode in different open charts under the curvature effect of de Sitter space. In particular, the Gaussian coherence for the initially correlated state is found to survive in the limit of infinite curvature, while quantum entanglement vanishing in this limit. Unlike entanglement and steering, the coherence of a massive scalar field is more robust than a massless field under the influence of curvature of de Sitter space. In addition, it is shown that the curvature generates two-mode Gaussian state and three-mode Gaussian state quantum coherence among the open charts, even though the observers are localized in causally disconnected regions. It is worth noting that the gravity-generated three-mode coherence is extremely sensitive to the curvature effect for the conformal and massless scalar fields, which may be in principle employed to design an effective detector for the space curvature.

Gaussian quantum steering under the influence of a dilaton black hole

We study the dynamics of Gaussian quantum steering in the background of a Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger dilaton black hole. It is found that the gravity induced by dilaton field will destroy the quantum steerability between the inertial observer Alice and the observer Bob who hovers outside the event horizon, while it generates steering-type quantum correlations between the causally disconnected regions. Therefore, the observers can steer each other's state by local measurements even though they are separated by the event horizon. Unlike quantum entanglement in the dilaton spacetime, the quantum steering experiences catastrophic behaviors such as "sudden death" and "sudden birth" with increasing dilaton charge. In addition, the dilaton gravity destroys the symmetry of Gaussian steering and the latter is always asymmetric in the dilation spacetime. Interestingly, the attainment of maximal steering asymmetry indicates the critical point between one-way and two-way steering for the two-mode Gaussian state in the dilaton spacetime.

Holographic insulator/superconductor phase transitions with excited states

We construct a family of solutions of the holographic insulator/superconductor phase transitions with the excited states in the AdS soliton background by using both the numerical and analytical methods. The interesting point is that the improved Sturm-Liouville method can not only analytically investigate the properties of the phase transition with the excited states, but also the distributions of the condensed fields in the vicinity of the critical point. We observe that, regardless of the type of the holographic model, the excited state has a higher critical chemical potential than the corresponding ground state, and the difference of the dimensionless critical chemical potential between the consecutive states is around 2.4, which is different from the finding of the metal/superconductor phase transition in the AdS black hole background. Furthermore, near the critical point, we find that the phase transition of the systems is of the second order and a linear relationship exists between the charge density and chemical potential for all the excited states in both s-wave and p-wave insulator/superconductor models.

Holographic superconductors in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity

We investigate the neutral AdS black-hole solution in the consistent $D\rightarrow4$ Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity proposed in [K. Aoki, M.A. Gorji, and S. Mukohyama, Phys. Lett. B {\bf 810}, 135843 (2020)] and construct the gravity duals of ($2+1$)-dimensional superconductors with Gauss-Bonnet corrections in the probe limit. We find that the curvature correction has a more subtle effect on the scalar condensates in the s-wave superconductor in ($2+1$)-dimensions, which is different from the finding in the higher-dimensional superconductors that the higher curvature correction makes the scalar hair more difficult to be developed in the full parameter space. However, in the p-wave case, we observe that the higher curvature correction always makes it harder for the vector condensates to form in various dimensions. Moreover, we note that the higher curvature correction results in the larger deviation from the expected relation in the gap frequency $ω_g/T_c\approx 8$ in both ($2+1$)-dimensional s-wave and p-wave models.

Image of the Schwarzschild black hole pierced by a cosmic string with a thin accretion disk

We study the optical appearance of a thin accretion disk around a Schwarzschild black hole pierced by a cosmic string with a semi-analytic method of Luminet [11]. Direct and secondary images with different parameters observed by a distant observer is plotted. The cosmic string parameter s can modify the shape and size of the thin disk image. We calculate and plot the distribution of both redshift and observed flux as seen by distant observers at different inclination angles. Those distributions are dependent on the inclination angel of the observer and cosmic parameter s.

Backreacting holographic superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor

We investigate the properties of the backreacting holographic superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor in the background of a d-dimensional AdS black hole. Imposing the Dirichlet boundary condition of the trial function without the Neumann boundary conditions, we improve the analytical Sturm-Liouville method with an iterative procedure to explore the pure effect of the Einstein tensor on the holographic superconductors and find that the Einstein tensor hinders the condensate of the scalar field but does not affect the critical phenomena. Our analytical findings are in very good agreement with the numerical results from the "marginally stable modes" method, which implies that the Sturm-Liouville method is still powerful to study the holographic superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor even if we consider the backreactions.

Estimating the Unruh effect via entangled many-body probes

We study the estimation of parameters in a quantum metrology scheme based on entangled many-body Unruh-DeWitt detectors. It is found that the precision for the estimation of Unruh effect can be enhanced via initial state preparations and parameter selections. It is shown that the precision in the estimation of the Unruh temperature in terms of a many-body-probe metrology is always better than the precision in two probe strategies. The proper acceleration for Bob's detector and the interaction between the accelerated detector and the external field have significant influences on the precision for the Unruh effect's estimation. In addition, the probe state prepared with more excited atoms in the initial state is found to perform better than less excited initial states. However, different from the estimation of the Unruh temperature, the estimation of the effective coupling parameter for the accelerated detector requires more total atoms but less excited atoms in the estimations.

Holographic p-wave superfluid in the AdS soliton background with $RF^{2}$ corrections

We investigate the holographic p-wave superfluid in the background metric of the AdS soliton with $RF^{2}$ corrections. Two models, namely, the Maxwell complex vector field model and Yang-Mills theory, are studied in the above context by employing the Sturm-Liouville approach as well as the shooting method. When turning on the spatial components of the gauge field, one observes that, in the probe limit, the inclusion of $RF^{2}$ corrections hinders the superfluid phase transition. On the other hand, however, in the absence of the superfluid velocity, it is found that the $RF^2$ corrections lead to distinct effects for the two models. Regardless of either the $RF^2$ correction or the spatial component of the gauge field, the phase transition of the system is observed to be always of the second order. Moreover, a linear relationship between the charge density and chemical potential is largely established near the critical point in both holographic superfluid models.

Polarization effects in Kerr black hole shadow due to the coupling between photon and bumblebee field

We present firstly the equation of motion for the photon coupled to a special bumblebee vector field in a Kerr black hole spacetime and find that the propagation of light depends on its polarization due to the birefringence phenomenon. The dependence of black hole shadow on the light's polarization is dominated by the rotation of black hole. In the non-rotating case, we find that the black hole shadow is independent of the polarization of light. However, the status is changed in the rotating case, in which the black hole shadow depends on the light's polarization and the coupling between bumblebee vector field and electromagnetic field. These features of black hole shadow casted by polarized lights could help us to understand the bumblebee vector field with Lorentz symmetry breaking and its interaction with electromagnetic field.

Quantum estimation of acceleration and temperature in open quantum system

In an open quantum system, we study the evolution of a two-level atom as a detector which interacts with given environments. For a uniformly accelerated two-level atom coupled to a massless scalar field in the Minkowski vacuum, when it evolves for a certain time, we find that there exists a peak value for the quantum Fisher information (QFI) of acceleration, which indicates that the optimal precision of estimation is achieved when choosing an appropriate acceleration $a$. QFI has different behaviors for different initial state parameters $θ$ of the atom, displaying periodicity. However, the periodicity fades away with the evolution of time, which means that the initial state cannot affect the later stable quantum state. Furthermore, adding a boundary, we observe that the peak value of QFI increases when the atom is close to the boundary, which shows that QFI is protected by the boundary. Here, QFI fluctuates, and there may exist two peak values with a certain moment, which expands the detection range of the acceleration. Therefore, we can enhance the estimation precision of acceleration by choosing an appropriate position and acceleration $a$. The periodicity of QFI with respect to the initial state parameter $θ$ lasts a longer time than the previous unbounded case, which indicates that the initial state is protected by the boundary. Finally, for a thermal bath with a boundary, QFI of temperature has no more than one peak value with a certain moment, which is different from QFI of acceleration with a boundary. The periodicity also lasts a longer time than unbounded case, which shows the initial quantum state of the atom is protected by the boundary for two cases.

Shadow of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by a Bach-Weyl ring

We have studied the shadows of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by a Bach-Weyl ring through the backward ray-tracing method. The presence of Bach-Weyl ring leads to that the photon dynamical system is non-integrable and then chaos would appear in the photon motion, which affects sharply the black hole shadow. The size and shape the black hole shadow depend on the black hole parameter, the Bach-Weyl ring mass and the Weyl radius between black hole and ring. Some self-similar fractal structures also appear in the black hole shadow, which originates from the chaotic lensing. We also study the change of the image of Bach-Weyl ring with the ring mass and the Weyl radius. Finally, we analyze the invariant manifolds of Lyapunov orbits near the fixed points and discuss further the formation of the shadow of a Schwarzschild black hole with Bach-Weyl ring.

Thermal chaos of a charged dilaton-AdS black hole in the extended phase space

We have studied thermal chaotic behavior in the extended phase space for a charged dilaton-AdS black hole by Melnikov method and present the effect of dilaton parameter on the thermal chaos. Our result show that for the temporal perturbation the thermal chaos in the charged dilaton-AdS black hole occurs only if the perturbation amplitude is larger than certain a critical value, but for the spatially perturbation, the chaos always exists irrespective of perturbation amplitude. These behaviors are similar to those in other AdS black hole, which can be regarded as the common features of the static AdS black holes. Moreover, we also find that the critical temporal perturbation amplitude leading to chaos increases with the dilaton parameter and decreases with the charge. This means that under the temporal perturbation the presence of dilaton parameter makes the onset of chaos more difficult, which differs from that of the charge parameter.

Charged Dirac perturbations on Reissner-Nordström-Anti-de Sitter spacetimes: quasinormal modes with Robin boundary conditions

We study charged Dirac quasinormal modes (QNMs) on Reissner-Nordström-Anti-de Sitter (RN-AdS) black holes with generic Robin boundary conditions, by extending our earlier work of neutral Dirac QNMs on Schwarzschild-AdS black holes. We first derive the equations of motion for charged Dirac fields on a RN-AdS background. To solve these equations we impose a requirement on the Dirac field: that its energy flux should vanish at asymptotic infinity. A set of two Robin boundary conditions compatible with QNMs is consequently found. By employing both analytic and numeric methods, we then obtain the quasinormal spectrum for charged Dirac fields, and analyse the impact of various parameters, in particular of electric charge. An analytic calculation shows explicitly that the charge coupling between the black hole and the Dirac field does not trigger superradiant instabilities. Numeric calculations, on the other hand, show quantiatively that Dirac QNMs may change substantially due to the electric charge. Our results illustrate how vanishing energy flux boundary conditions, as a generic principle, are applicable not only to neutral but also to electrically charged fields.

Quantum steering for continuous variable in de Sitter space

We study the distribution of quantum steerability for continuous variables between two causally disconnected open charts in de Sitter space. It is shown that quantum steerability suffers from "sudden death" in de Sitter space, which is quite different from the behaviors of entanglement and discord because the latter always survives and the former vanishes only in the limit of infinite curvature. In addition, we find that the attainment of maximal steerability asymmetry indicates a transition between unidirectional steerable and bidirectional steerable. Unlike in the flat space, the asymmetry of quantum steerability can be completely destroyed in the limit of infinite curvature for the conformal and massless scalar fields in de Sitter space.

Generalized superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor and their refractive index in massive gravity

We construct the generalized superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor in the massive gravity and investigate their negative refraction in the probe limit. We observe that the larger graviton mass and Einstein tensor coupling parameters both hinder the formation of the condensation, but the larger graviton mass or smaller coupling parameter makes it easier for the emergence of the Cave of Winds. Furthermore, we see that the larger graviton mass but smaller coupling parameter make the range of frequencies or the range of temperatures larger for which a negative Depine-Lakhtakia index occurs, which indicates that the graviton mass and Einstein tensor have completely different effects on the negative refraction. In addition, we find that the larger graviton mass and coupling parameters both can reduce the dissipation and improve the propagation in the holographic setup.

Analytical study on holographic superfluid in AdS soliton background

We analytically study the holographic superfluid phase transition in the AdS soliton background by using the variational method for the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem. By investigating the holographic s-wave and p-wave superfluid models in the probe limit, we observe that the spatial component of the gauge field will hinder the phase transition. Moreover, we note that, different from the AdS black hole spacetime, in the AdS soliton background the holographic superfluid phase transition always belongs to the second order and the critical exponent of the system takes the mean-field value in both s-wave and p-wave models. Our analytical results are found to be in good agreement with the numerical findings.

Chaotic motion of particles in the accelerating and rotating black holes spacetime

We have investigated the motion of timelike particles along geodesic in the background of accelerating and rotating black hole spacetime. We confirmed that the chaos exists in the geodesic motion of the particles by Poincaré sections, the power spectrum, the fast Lyapunov exponent indicator and the bifurcation diagram. Moreover, we probe the effects of the acceleration and rotation parameters on the chaotic behavior of a timelike geodesic particle in the black hole spacetime. Our results show that the acceleration brings richer physics for the geodesic motion of particles.

Detecting the Curvature of de Sitter Universe with Two Entangled Atoms

Casimir-Polder interaction arises from the vacuum fluctuations of quantum field that depend on spacetime curvature and thus is spacetime-dependent. Here we show how to use the resonance Casimir-Polder interaction (RCPI) between two entangled atoms to detect spacetime curvature. We find that the RCPI of two static entangled atoms in the de Sitter-invariant vacuum depends on the de Sitter spacetime curvature relevant to the temperature felt by the static observer. It is characterized by a $1/L^2$ power law decay when beyond a characteristic length scale associated to the breakdown of a local inertial description of the two-atom system. However, the RCPI of the same setup embedded in a thermal bath in the Minkowski universe is temperature-independent and is always characterized by a $1/L$ power law decay. Therefore, although a single static atom in the de Sitter-invariant vacuum responds as if it were bathed in thermal radiation in a Minkowski universe, using the distinct difference between RCPI of two entangled atoms one can in principle distinguish these two universes.

Double shadow of a regular phantom black hole as photons couple to Weyl tensor

We have studied the shadow of a regular phantom black hole as photons couple to Weyl tensor. We find that the coupling yields that photons with different polarization directions propagate along different paths in the spacetime so that there exits double shadow for a black hole, which is quite different from that in the non-coupling case where only a single shadow emerges. The umbra of black hole increases with the phantom charge and decreases with the coupling strength. The dependence of the penumbra on the phantom charge and the coupling strength is converse to that of the umbra. Combining with the supermassive central object in our Galaxy, we estimated the shadow of the black hole as the photons couple to Weyl tensor. Our results show that the coupling brings richer behaviors of the propagation of coupled photon and the shadow of the black hole in the regular phantom black hole spacetime.

Gaussian quantum steering and its asymmetry in curved spacetime

We study Gaussian quantum steering and its asymmetry in the background of a Schwarzschild black hole. We present a Gaussian channel description of quantum state evolution under the influence of the Hawking radiation. We find that thermal noise introduced by Hawking effect will destroy the steerability between an inertial observer Alice and an accelerated observer Bob who hovers outside the event horizon, while it generates steerability between Bob and a hypothetical observer anti-Bob inside the event horizon. Unlike entanglement behaviors in curved spacetime, here the steering from Alice to Bob suffers from a "sudden death" and the steering from anti-Bob to Bob experiences a "sudden birth" with increasing Hawking temperature. We also find that the Gaussian steering is always asymmetric and the maximum steering asymmetry cannot exceed $\ln 2$, which means the state never evolves to an extremal asymmetry state. Furthermore, we obtain the parameter settings that maximize steering asymmetry and find that (i) $s=arccosh(\frac{\cosh^2 r}{1-\sinh^2r})$ is the critical point of steering asymmetry, and (ii) the attainment of maximal steering asymmetry indicates the transition between one-way steerability and both-way steerability for the two-mode Gaussian state under the influence of Hawking radiation.

General proof of the entropy principle for self-gravitating fluid in f(R) Gravity

The discussions on the connection between gravity and thermodynamics attract much attention recently. We consider a static self-gravitating perfect fluid system in $f(R)$ gravity, which is an important theory could explain the accelerated expansion of the universe. We first show that the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equation of $f(R)$ theories can be obtained by thermodynamical method in spherical symmetric spacetime. Then we prove that the maximum entropy principle is also valid for $f(R)$ gravity in general static spacetimes beyond spherical symmetry. The result shows that if the constraint equation is satisfied and the temperature of fluid obeys Tolmans law, the extrema of total entropy implies other components of gravitational equations. Conversely, if $f(R)$ gravitational equation hold, the total entropy of the fluid should be extremum. Our work suggests a general and solid connection between $f(R)$ gravity and thermodynamics.

We study the thermodynamic properties of the RN-AdS black hole in full phase space and propose a generalized thermodynamic identity. As an example, we use it to find relations of thermodynamical coefficients between the grand canonical and canonical ensembles. Holographic entanglement entropy in metal/superconductor phase transition with exponential nonlinear electrodynamics

We study the holographic entanglement entropy in metal/superconductor phase transition with exponential nonlinear electrodynamics (ENE) in four and five dimensional spacetimes. We find that the holographic entanglement entropy is powerful tool in studying the properties of the holographic phase transition. For the operator $\langle\mathcal{O}_{+}\rangle$, we observe that the entanglement entropy in 4-dimensional spacetime decreases in metal phase but changes non-monotonously in superconducting phase with the increase of the ENE parameter. Interestingly, the change of the entanglement entropy in 5-dimensional spacetime for both the phases is monotonous as the ENE factor alters. For the operator $\langle\mathcal{O}_{-}\rangle$, we show that the behavior of entanglement entropy in four and five dimensions changes monotonously for both phases as one tunes the strength of the ENE. Furthermore, for both the operators the entanglement entropy in four or five dimensional black hole increases with the increase of the width of the region.

Holographic p-wave superfluid in Gauss-Bonnet gravity

We construct the holographic p-wave superfluid in Gauss-Bonnet gravity via a Maxwell complex vector field model and investigate the effect of the curvature correction on the superfluid phase transition in the probe limit. We obtain the rich phase structure and find that the higher curvature correction hinders the condensate of the vector field but makes it easier for the appearance of translating point from the second-order transition to the first-order one or for the emergence of the Cave of Winds. Moreover, for the supercurrents versus the superfluid velocity, we observe that our results near the critical temperature are independent of the Gauss-Bonnet parameter and agree well with the Ginzburg-Landau prediction.

Influence of relativistic effects on satellite-based clock synchronization

Clock synchronization between the ground and satellites is a fundamental issue in future quantum telecommunication, navigation, and global positioning systems. Here, we propose a scheme of near-Earth orbit satellite-based quantum clock synchronization with atmospheric dispersion cancellation by taking into account the spacetime background of the Earth. Two frequency entangled pulses are employed to synchronize two clocks, one at a ground station and the other at a satellite. The time discrepancy of the two clocks is introduced into the pulses by moving mirrors and is extracted by measuring the coincidence rate of the pulses in the interferometer. We find that the pulses are distorted due to effects of gravity when they propagate between the Earth and the satellite, resulting in remarkably affected coincidence rates. We also find that the precision of the clock synchronization is sensitive to the source parameters and the altitude of the satellite. The scheme provides a solution for satellite-based quantum clock synchronization with high precision, which can be realized, in principle, with current technology.

Inhibiting decoherence of two-level atom in thermal bath by presence of boundaries

We study, in the paradigm of open quantum systems, the dynamics of quantum coherence of a static polarizable two-level atom which is coupled with a thermal bath of fluctuating electromagnetic field in the absence and presence of boundaries. The purpose is to find the conditions under which the decoherence can be inhibited effectively. We find that without boundaries, quantum coherence of the two-level atom inevitably decreases due to the effect of thermal bath. However, the quantum decoherence, in the presence of a boundary, could be effectively inhibited when the atom is transversely polarizable and near this boundary. In particular, we find that in the case of two parallel reflecting boundaries, the atom with a parallel dipole polarization at arbitrary location between these two boundaries will be never subjected to decoherence provided we take some special distances for the two boundaries.

Irreversible degradation of quantum coherence under relativistic motion

We study the dynamics of quantum coherence under Unruh thermal noise and seek under which condition the coherence can be frozen in a relativistic setting. We find that the frozen condition is either (i) the initial state is prepared as a incoherence state, or (ii) the detectors have no interaction with the external field. That is to say, the decoherence of detectors' quantum state is irreversible under the influence of thermal noise induced by Unruh radiation. It is shown that quantum coherence approaches zero only in the limit of an infinite acceleration, while quantum entanglement could reduce to zero for a finite acceleration. It is also demonstrated that the robustness of quantum coherence is better than entanglement under the influence of the atom-field interaction for an extremely large acceleration. Therefore, quantum coherence is more robust than entanglement in an accelerating system and the coherence type quantum resources are more accessible for relativistic quantum information processing tasks.

Quantum metrology and estimation of Unruh effect

We study the quantum metrology for a pair of entangled Unruh-Dewitt detectors when one of them is accelerated and coupled to a massless scalar field. Comparing with previous schemes, our model requires only local interaction and avoids the use of cavities in the probe state preparation process. We show that the probe state preparation and the interaction between the accelerated detector and the external field have significant effects on the value of quantum Fisher information, correspondingly pose variable ultimate limit of precision in the estimation of Unruh effect. We find that the precision of the estimation can be improved by a larger effective coupling strength and a longer interaction time. Alternatively, the energy gap of the detector has a range that can provide us a better precision. Thus we may adjust those parameters and attain a higher precision in the estimation. We also find that an extremely high acceleration is not required in the quantum metrology process.

Shadow casted by a twisted and rotating black hole

Zhang have obtained recently a twisted rotating black hole metric, which is a vacuum solution in four-dimensional Einstein gravity. This black hole solution has a rotation parameter, but without the total angular moment. Here, we have investigated the shadow casted by a twisted rotating black hole. Our results show that the shape of the shadow of the twisted rotating black hole is a standard round disk and does not depend on the inclination angle of the observer. It means that although the twisted rotating black hole has a rotation parameter, its shadow possesses the same behaviors as the common static black hole rather than the usual Kerr-like black holes. Moreover, we find that the marginally circular orbit radius of photon is independent of the direction of photon around the black hole. The value of the marginally circular orbit radius of photon and the size of shadow increase monotonously with the rotation parameter.

Strong gravitational lensing by a Konoplya-Zhidenko rotating non-Kerr compact object

Konoplya and Zhidenko have proposed recently a rotating non-Kerr black hole metric beyond General Relativity and make an estimate for the possible deviations from the Kerr solution with the data of GW 150914. We here study the strong gravitational lensing in such a rotating non-Kerr spacetime with an extra deformation parameter. We find that the condition of existence of horizons is not inconsistent with that of the marginally circular photon orbit. Moreover, the deflection angle of the light ray near the weakly naked singularity covered by the marginally circular orbit diverges logarithmically in the strong-field limit. In the case of the completely naked singularity, the deflection angle near the singularity tends to a certain finite value, whose sign depends on the rotation parameter and the deformation parameter. These properties of strong gravitational lensing are different from those in the Johannsen-Psaltis rotating non-Kerr spacetime and in the Janis-Newman-Winicour spacetime. Modeling the supermassive central object of the Milk Way Galaxy as a Konoplya-Zhidenko rotating non-Kerr compact object, we estimated the numerical values of observables for the strong gravitational lensing including the time delay between two relativistic images.

Testing gravity of a regular and slowly rotating phantom black hole by quasi-periodic oscillations

We extend firstly the regular phantom black hole solution to a slowly rotating black hole case and find that the phantom field depresses the angular velocity of the event horizon and suppresses the super-radiation of black hole. We also probe the dependence of quasi-periodic oscillations frequencies in relativistic precession model on the phantom parameter. With the observation data of GRO J1655-40, we make a constraint on the parameters of the regular and slowly rotating phantom black hole. Our results show that although the best-fit value of the phantom parameter $b$ is small, the allowed value of $b$ in the $1σ$ region is $b<0.619$, which means that the phantom theoretical model can not be excluded by the constraint from quasi-periodic oscillations with the observation data of GRO J1655-40.

Black hole entropy arising from massless scalar field with Lorentz violation induced by the coupling to Einstein tensor

We have investigated quantum entropy of a static black hole arising from the massless scalar field with Lorentz violation induced by the coupling to Einstein tensor. Our results show that the coupled massless scalar field contributes to the classical Bekenstein-Hawking term in the black hole entropy. The corrected classical Bekenstein-Hawking entropy is not one quarter of the event horizon area of the original background black hole, but of a corresponding effective metric related to the coupling. It means that the classical Bekenstein-Hawking entropy depends not only on the black hole parameter, but also on the coupling which reduces Lorentz violation.

Condensation for non-relativistic matter in Hořava-Lifshitz gravity

We study condensation for non-relativistic matter in a Hořava-Lifshitz black hole without the condition of the detailed balance. We show that, for the fixed non-relativistic parameter $α_2$ (or the detailed balance parameter $ε$), it is easier for the scalar hair to form as the parameter $ε$ (or $α_2$) becomes larger, but the condensation is not affected by the non-relativistic parameter $β_2$. We also find that the ratio of the gap frequency in conductivity to the critical temperature decreases with the increase of $ε$ and $α_2$, but increases with the increase of $β_2$. The ratio can reduce to the Horowitz-Roberts relation $ω_g/T_c\approx 8$ obtained in the Einstein gravity and Cai's result $ω_g/T_c\approx 13$ found in a Hořava-Lifshitz gravity with the condition of the detailed balance for the relativistic matter. Especially, we note that the ratio can arrive at the value of the BCS theory $ω_g/T_c\approx 3.5$ by taking proper values of $ε$, $α_2$, $β_2$ and $m$.

Entropic uncertainty relation in de Sitter space

The uncertainty principle restricts our ability to simultaneously predict the measurement outcomes of two incompatible observables of a quantum particle. However, this uncertainty could be reduced and quantified by a new Entropic Uncertainty Relation (EUR). By the open quantum system approach, we explore how the nature of de Sitter space affects the EUR. When the quantum memory $A$ freely falls in the de Sitter space, we demonstrate that the entropic uncertainty acquires an increase resulting from a thermal bath with the Gibbons-Hawking temperature. And for the static case, we find that the temperature coming from both the intrinsic thermal nature of the de Sitter space and the Unruh effect associated with the proper acceleration of $A$ also brings effect on entropic uncertainty, and the higher temperature, the greater uncertainty and the quicker the uncertainty reaches the maxima value. And finally the possible mechanism behind this phenomenon is also explored.

Geometric optics for a coupling model of the electromagnetic and gravitational fields

The coupling between the electromagnetic and gravitational fields results in "faster than light" photons and invalids the Lorentz invariance and some laws of physics. A typical example is that the first and third laws of geometric optics are invalid in the usual spacetime. By introducing an effective spacetime, we find that the wave vector can be casted into null and then it obeys the geodesic equation, the polarization vector is perpendicular to the rays, and the number of photons is conserved. That is to say, the laws of geometric optics are still valid for the modified theory in the effective spacetime. We also show that the focusing theorem of light rays for the modified theory in the effective spacetime takes the same form as usual.

Holographic p-wave superconductor models with Weyl corrections

We study the effect of the Weyl corrections on the holographic p-wave dual models in the backgrounds of AdS soliton and AdS black hole via a Maxwell complex vector field model by using the numerical and analytical methods. We find that, in the soliton background, the Weyl corrections do not influence the properties of the holographic p-wave insulator/superconductor phase transition, which is different from that of the Yang-Mills theory. However, in the black hole background, we observe that similar to the Weyl correction effects in the Yang-Mills theory, the higher Weyl corrections make it easier for the p-wave metal/superconductor phase transition to be triggered, which shows that these two p-wave models with Weyl corrections share some similar features for the condensation of the vector operator.

On analytical study of holographic superconductors with Born-Infeld electrodynamics

Based on the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem, Banerjee \emph{et al.} proposed a perturbative approach to analytically investigate the properties of the ($2+1$)-dimensional superconductor with Born-Infeld electrodynamics [Phys. Rev. D {\bf 87}, 104001 (2013)]. By introducing an iterative procedure, we will further improve the analytical results and the consistency with the numerical findings, and can easily extend the analytical study to the higher-dimensional superconductor with Born-Infeld electrodynamics. We observe that the higher Born-Infeld corrections make it harder for the condensation to form but do not affect the critical phenomena of the system. Our analytical results can be used to back up the numerical computations for the holographic superconductors with various condensates in Born-Infeld electrodynamics.

Parameter estimation for an expanding universe

We study the parameter estimation for excitations of Dirac fields in the expanding Robertson-Walker universe. We employ quantum metrology techniques to demonstrate the possibility for high precision estimation for the volume rate of the expanding universe. We show that the optimal precision of the estimation depends sensitively on the dimensionless mass $\tilde{m}$ and dimensionless momentum $\tilde{k}$ of the Dirac particles. The optimal precision for the ratio estimation peaks at some finite dimensionless mass $\tilde{m}$ and momentum $\tilde{k}$. We find that the precision of the estimation can be improved by choosing the probe state as an eigenvector of the hamiltonian. This occurs because the largest quantum Fisher information is obtained by performing projective measurements implemented by the projectors onto the eigenvectors of specific probe states.

Protecting quantum coherence of two-level atoms from vacuum fluctuations of electromagnetic field

In the framework of open quantum systems, we study the dynamics of a static polarizable two-level atom interacting with a bath of fluctuating vacuum electromagnetic field and explore under which conditions the coherence of the open quantum system is unaffected by the environment totally. For both a single-qubit and two-qubit systems, we find that the quantum coherence can not be protected from noise when the atom interacts with a non-boundary electromagnetic field. However, with the presence of a boundary, the dynamical conditions for the insusceptible of quantum coherence are fulfilled only when the atom is close to the boundary and is transversely polarizable. Otherwise, the quantum coherence can only be protected in some degree in other polarizable direction.

Relativistic Quantum Metrology in Open System Dynamics

Quantum metrology studies the ultimate limit of precision in estimating a physical quantity if quantum strategies are exploited. Here we investigate the evolution of a two-level atom as a detector which interacts with a massless scalar field using the master equation approach for open quantum system. We employ local quantum estimation theory to estimate the Unruh temperature when probed by a uniformly accelerated detector in the Minkowski vacuum. In particular, we evaluate the Fisher information (FI) for population measurement, maximize its value over all possible detector preparations and evolution times, and compare its behavior with that of the quantum Fisher information (QFI). We find that the optimal precision of estimation is achieved when the detector evolves for a long enough time. Furthermore, we find that in this case the FI for population measurement is independent of initial preparations of the detector and is exactly equal to the QFI, which means that population measurement is optimal. This result demonstrates that the achievement of the ultimate bound of precision imposed by quantum mechanics is possible. Finally, we note that the same configuration is also available to the maximum of the QFI itself.

Strong gravitational lensing for the photons coupled to Weyl tensor in a Schwarzschild black hole spacetime

We have investigated the strong gravitational lensing for the photons coupled to Weyl tensor in a Schwarzschild black hole spacetime. We find that in the four-dimensional black hole spacetime the equation of motion of the photons depends not only on the coupling between photon and Weyl tensor, but also on the polarization direction of the photons. It is quite different from that in the case of the usual photon without coupling to Weyl tensor in which the equation of motion is independent of the polarization of the photon. Moreover, we find that the coupling and the polarization direction modify the properties of the photon sphere, the deflection angle, the coefficients in strong field lensing, and the observational gravitational lensing variables. Combining with the supermassive central object in our Galaxy, we estimated three observables in the strong gravitational lensing for the photons coupled to Weyl tensor.

Distinguishing de Sitter universe from thermal Minkowski spacetime by Casimir-Polder-like force

We demonstrate that the static ground state atom, which interacts with a conformally coupled massless scalar field in the de Sitter invariant vacuum, can obtain a position-dependent energy-level shift and this shift could cause a Casimir-Polder-like force on it. Interestingly no such force arises on the inertial atom bathed in a thermal radiation in the Minkowski universe. Thus, although the energy-level shifts of the static atom for these two cases are structurally the same, whether the energy-level shift causes the Casimir-Polder-like force, in principle, could be as an indicator to distinguish de Sitter universe from the thermal Minkowski spacetime.

Dynamical evolution of a vector field perturbation coupling to Einstein tensor

We have investigated the wave dynamics of a vector field perturbation coupling to Einstein tensor in the four-dimensional Reissner-Nordström black hole spacetime. Our results show that besides the dependence on the coupling between the vector field and Einstein tensor, the wave dynamic equation of the vector field perturbation strongly depends on the parity of the perturbation itself, which is quite different from that of the usual vector field perturbation without the coupling in the four-dimensional spacetime. Moreover, we also find that the vector field perturbation with odd parity grows with exponential rate if the coupling strength is stronger than certain a critical value. However, the vector field perturbation with even parity always decays in the Reissner-Nordström black hole spacetime.

Dynamics and quantum entanglement of two-level atoms in de Sitter spacetime

In the framework of open quantum systems, we study the internal dynamics of both freely falling and static two-level atoms interacting with quantized conformally coupled massless scalar field in de Sitter spacetime. We find that the atomic transition rates depend on both the nature of de Sitter spacetime and the motion of atoms, interestingly the steady states for both cases are always driven to being purely thermal, regardless of the atomic initial states. This thermalization phenomenon is structurally similar to what happens to an elementary quantum system immersed in a thermal field, and thus reveals the thermal nature of de Sitter spacetime. Besides, we find that the thermal baths will drive the entanglement shared by the freely falling atom (the static atom) and its auxiliary partner, a same two-level atom which is isolated from external fields, to being sudden death, and the proper time for the entanglement to be extinguished is computed. We also analyze that such thermalization and disentanglement phenomena, in principle, could be understood from the perspective of table-top simulation experiment.

Holographic entanglement entropy in insulator/superconductor transition with Born-Infeld electrodynamics

We investigate the holographic entanglement entropy in the insulator/superconductor phase transition for the Born-Infeld electrodynamics with full backreaction in five-dimensional AdS soliton spacetime. We note that the holographic entanglement entropy is a good probe to study the properties of the phase transition, and the Born-Infeld factor $b$ has no effect on the critical chemical potential $μ_c$. We find that both in the half space and the belt one, the non-monotonic behavior of the entanglement entropy versus the chemical potential is a general property, and the entanglement entropy increases with the increase of the Born-Infeld factor in the superconductor phase. Particularly, there exists confinement/deconfinement phase transition in the strip geometry and the critical width $\ell_c$ is dependent of the Born-Infeld parameter.

Holographic entanglement entropy in metal/superconductor phase transition with Born-Infeld electrodynamics

We investigate the holographic entanglement entropy in the metal/superconductor phase transition for the Born-Infeld electrodynamics with full backreaction and note that the entropy is a good probe to study the properties of the phase transition. For the operator $<\mathcal{O}_{-}>$, we find that the entanglement entropy decreases (or increases) with the increase of the Born-Infeld parameter $b$ in the metal (or superconducting) phase. For the operator $<\mathcal{O}_{+}>$, we observe that, with the increase of the Born-Infeld parameter, the entanglement entropy in the metal phase decreases monotonously but the entropy in the superconducting phase first increases and forms a peak at some threshold $b_{T}$, then decreases continuously. Moreover, the value of $b_{T}$ becomes smaller as the width of the subsystem $A$ decreases.

Notes on analytical study of holographic superconductors with Lifshitz scaling in external magnetic field

We employ the matching method to analytically investigate the holographic superconductors with Lifshitz scaling in an external magnetic field. We discuss systematically the restricted conditions for the matching method and find that this analytic method is not always powerful to explore the effect of external magnetic field on the holographic superconductors unless the matching point is chosen in an appropriate range and the dynamical exponent $z$ satisfies the relation $z=d-1$ or $z=d-2$. From the analytic treatment, we observe that Lifshitz scaling can hinder the condensation to be formed, which can be used to back up the numerical results. Quantum discord and measurement-induced disturbance in the background of dilaton black holes

We study the dynamics of classical correlation, quantum discord and measurement-induced disturbance of Dirac fields in the background of a dilaton black hole. We present an alternative physical interpretation of single mode approximation for Dirac fields in black hole spacetimes. We show that the classical and quantum correlations are degraded as the increase of black hole's dilaton. We find that, comparing to the inertial systems, the quantum correlation measured by the one-side measuring discord is always not symmetric with respect to the measured subsystems, while the measurement-induced disturbance is symmetric. The symmetry of classical correlation and quantum discord is influenced by gravitation produced by the dilaton of the black hole.

Rotating charged black hole with Weyl corrections

We present firstly a four-dimensional spherical symmetric black hole with small Weyl corrections and find that with increasing Weyl corrections the region of the event horizon existence for the black hole in the parameter space increases for the negative Weyl coupling parameter and decreases for the positive one. Moreover, we also obtain a rotating charged black hole with weak Weyl corrections by the method of complex coordinate transformation. Our results show that the sign of Weyl coupling parameter $α$ yields the different spatial topology of the event horizons for the black hole with its parameters lied in some special regions in the parameter space. We also analyze the dependence of the ergosphere on the Weyl coupling parameter $α$ and find that with the increase of the Weyl corrections the ergosphere in the equatorial plane becomes thick for a black hole with $α>0$, but becomes thin in the case with $α<0$, which means that the energy extraction become easier in the background of a black hole with the positive Weyl coupling parameter, but more difficult in the background of a black hole with the negative one.

Strong gravitational lensing in a rotating Kaluza-Klein black hole with squashed horizons

We have investigated the strong gravitational lensing in a rotating squashed Kaluza-Klein (KK) black hole spacetime. Our result show that the strong gravitational lensings in the rotating squashed KK black hole spacetime have some distinct behaviors from those in the backgrounds of the four-dimensional Kerr black hole and of the squashed KK Gödel black hole. In the rotating squashed KK black hole spacetime, the marginally circular photon radius $ρ_{ps}$, the coefficient $\bar{a}$, $\bar{b}$, the deflection angle $α(θ)$ in the $ϕ$ direction and the corresponding observational variables are independent of whether the photon goes with or against the rotation of the background, which is different with those in the usual four-dimensional Kerr black hole spacetime. Moreover, we also find that with the increase of the scale of extra dimension $ρ_0$, the marginally circular photon radius $ρ_{ps}$ and the angular position of the relativistic images $θ_\infty$ first decreases and then increases in the rotating squashed KK black hole for fixed rotation parameter $b$, but in the squashed KK Gödel black hole they increase for the smaller global rotation parameter $j$ and decrease for the larger one. In the extremely squashed case $ρ_0=0$, the coefficient $\bar{a}$ in the rotating squashed KK black hole increases monotonously with the rotation parameter, but in the squashed KK Gödel black hole it is a constant and independent of the global rotation of the Gödel Universe.

Towards experimentally studying some puzzles of Hawking radiation

We investigate the features of the non-corrected thermal (non-thermal) spectrum and the quantum corrected thermal (non-thermal) spectrum. We find that: (i) using the quantum corrected non-thermal spectra, the black hole radiation as tunneling is an entropy conservation process, and thus black hole evaporation process is unitary; (ii) there are no obvious differences between all spectra except for near the Planck mass scale by comparing their average emission energies, average numbers of emissions and average emission energy fluctuations; (iii) the energy covariances of Hawking radiations for all the thermal spectra are exactly zero, while they are nontrivial for all the non-thermal spectra. Especially, there are distinctly different maximums of energy covariances for the temperature-corrected and energy-corrected non-thermal spectra. Consequently, these differences provide a possible way towards experimentally analyzing whether the radiation spectrum of black hole is thermal or non-thermal with or without high order quantum corrections.

Analytical study on holographic superconductors for Born-Infeld electrodynamics in Gauss-Bonnet gravity with backreactions

We analytically study the holographic superconductors for Born-Infeld electrodynamics in Gauss-Bonnet gravity with backreactions. We note that the analytic method is still powerful for this complex system and the results obtained by the analytical and numerical computations are consistent. We find that the critical temperature decreases with the increase of the backreactions, Gauss-Bonnet, and Born-Infeld parameters, which means that increase of the strength of these effects will make the scalar hair harder to form. Furthermore, the Gauss-Bonnet factor modifies the critical temperature more significantly than the backreaction factor. The effect of the Born-Infeld factor on the critical temperature is weaker than the backreaction factor. We also show that the critical exponent is not affected by the backreactions, Gauss-Bonnet gravity, and Born-Infeld electrodynamics.

Dynamical evolution of the electromagnetic perturbation with Weyl corrections

We present firstly the master equation of an electromagnetic perturbation with Weyl correction in the four-dimensional black hole spacetime, which depends not only on the Weyl correction parameter, but also on the parity of the electromagnetic field. And then we have investigated numerically the dynamical evolution of the electromagnetic perturbation with Weyl correction in the background of a four-dimensional Schwarzschild black hole spacetime. Our results show that the Weyl correction parameter $α$ and the parities imprint in the wave dynamics of the electromagnetic perturbation. For the odd parity electromagnetic perturbation, we find it grows with exponential rate if the value of $α$ is below the negative critical value $α_c$. However, for the electromagnetic perturbation with even parity, we find that there does not exist such a critical threshold value and the electromagnetic field always decays in the allowed range of $α$.

Geometric phase of two-level atoms and thermal nature of de Sitter spacetime

In the framework of open quantum systems, we study the geometric phase acquired by freely falling and static two-level atoms interacting with quantized conformally coupled massless scalar fields in de Sitter-invariant vacuum. We find that, for the freely falling atom, the geometric phase gets a correction resulting from a thermal bath with the Gibbons-Hawking temperature, thus it clearly reveals the intrinsic thermal nature of de Sitter spacetime from a different physical context. For the static atom, there is a correction to the geometric phase coming from both the intrinsic thermal nature of de Sitter spacetime and the Unruh effect associated with the proper acceleration of the atom. Furthermore, in a gedanken experiment, we estimate the magnitude of the correction to the geometric phase as opposed to that in a flat spacetime. We find that the correction for the freely falling atom is too tiny to be measured, and that for the static atom achieves an observable magnitude only when the atom almost locates at the horizon.

Gravitational field of a slowly rotating black hole with phantom global monopole

We present a slowly rotating black hole with phantom global monopole by solving Einstein's field equation and find that presence of global monopole changes the structure of black hole. The metric coefficient $g_{tϕ}$ contains hypergeometric function of the polar coordinate $r$, which is more complex than that in the usual slowly rotating black hole. The energy scale of symmetry breaking $η$ affects the black hole horizon and a deficit solid angle. Especially, the solid angle is surplus rather than deficit for a black hole with the phantom global monopole. We also study the correction originating from the global monopole to the angular velocity of the horizon $Ω_H$, the Kepler's third law, the innermost stable circular orbit and the radiative efficiency $ε$ in the thin accretion disk model. Our results also show that for the phantom black hole the radiative efficiency $ε$ is positive only for the case $η\leq η_c$. The threshold value $η_c$ increases with the rotation parameter $a$.

We analytically investigate the phase transition between the holographic insulator and superconductor with Weyl corrections by using the variational method for the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem. We find that similar to the curvature corrections, in p-wave model, the higher Weyl couplings make the insulator/superconductor phase transition harder to occur. However, in s-wave case the Weyl corrections do not influence the critical chemical potential, which is in contrast to the effect caused by the curvature corrections. Holographic superconductors in quintessence AdS black hole

We present a solution of Einstein equations describing a $d$-dimensional planar quintessence AdS black hole which depends on the state parameter $w_q$ of quintessence. We investigate holographic superconductors in this background and probe effects of the state parameter $w_q$ on the critical temperature $T_c$, the condensation formation and conductivity. The larger absolute value of $w_q$ leads to the lower critical temperature $T_c$ and the higher ratio between the gap frequency in conductivity to the critical temperature for the condensates. Moreover, we also find that the scalar condensate there exists an additional constraint condition originating from the quintessence $(d-1)w_q+λ_{\pm}>0$ for the operators $\mathcal{O}_{\pm}$, respectively. Our results show that the scalar condensation is harder to form and the occurrence of holographic dual superconductor needs the stronger coupling in the quintessence AdS black hole spacetime.

Two distinctly differences between the Dirac and Bosonic fields are: (i) the MIN for Dirac fields persists for any acceleration, while the quantity for Bosonic fields does decay to zero in the infinite acceleration limit; (ii) the dynamic behaviors of the MIN for Dirac fields is quite different from the Bosonic fields case. Two distinct differences with the results of free field model in non-inertial frames are (i) for the two-qubit state, the CHSH inequality can not be violated for sufficiently large but finite acceleration, furthermore, the concurrence will experience "sudden death"; and (ii) for the three-qubit state, not only the entanglement vanishes in the infinite acceleration limit, but also the Svetlichny inequality can not be violated in the case of large acceleration.

Under amplitude damping channel, the dependence of the entanglement on the initial states $|Θ>_{1}$ and $|Θ>_{2}$, which reduce to four orthogonal Bell states if we take the parameter of states $α=\pm 1/\sqrt{2}$ are investigated. We find that the entanglements for different initial states will decay along different curves even with the same acceleration and parameter of the states. We note that, in an inertial frame, the sudden death of the entanglement for $|Θ>_{1}$ will occur if $α>1/\sqrt{2}$, while it will not take place for $|Θ>_{2}$ for any $α$. We construct a holographic p-wave superconductor model in the background of quintessence AdS black hole with an SU(2) Yang-Mills gauge field and then probe the effects of quintessence on the holographic p-wave superconductor. We investigate the relation between the critical temperature and the state parameter of quintessence, and present the numerical results for electric conductivity. It is shown that the condensation of the vector field becomes harder as the absolute value of the state parameter increases. Unlike the scalar condensate in the s-wave model, the condensation of the vector field in p-wave model can occur in the total value range of the state parameter $w_q$ of quintessence. These results could help us know more about holographic superconductor and dark energy.

Holographic Superconductor/Insulator Transition with logarithmic electromagnetic field in Gauss-Bonnet gravity

The behaviors of the holographic superconductors/insulator transition are studied by introducing a charged scalar field coupled with a logarithmic electromagnetic field in both the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet AdS black hole and soliton. For the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet AdS black hole, we find that: i) the larger coupling parameter of logarithmic electrodynamic field $b$ makes it easier for the scalar hair to be condensated; ii) the ratio of the gap frequency in conductivity $ω_g$ to the critical temperature $T_c$ depends on both $b$ and the Gauss-Bonnet constant $α$; and iii) the critical exponents are independent of the $b$ and $α$. For the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet AdS Soliton, we show that the system is the insulator phase when the chemical potential $μ$ is small, but there is a phase transition and the AdS soliton reaches the superconductor (or superfluid) phase when $μ$ larger than critical chemical potential. A special property should be noted is that the critical chemical potential is not changed by the coupling parameter $b$ but depends on $α$.

How the Unruh effect affects transition between classical and quantum decoherences

We investigate how the Unruh effect affects the transition between classical and quantum decoherences for a general class of initial states and find that: $(i)$ The quantum decoherence exists while $λt\leqλ\widetilde{t}$ (the transition time) and the classical one can also affect the system's evolution while $λt\geqλ\widetilde{t}$ for both the bit and phase-bit flips, which are different from the cases in inertial frame; $(ii)$ The classical correlations will be different constants corresponding to different Unruh temperature and the quantum decoherence still dominates the evolution of system as $λt\geqλ\widetilde{t}$ for the phase flip; And $(iii)$ as the Unruh temperature increases, the $λ\widetilde{t}$, compared with that in inertial frame, will be bigger for phase flip but smaller for bit flip. However, the $λ\widetilde{t}$ does not change no matter what the Unruh effect is for phase-bit flip.

Properties of a thin accretion disk around a rotating non-Kerr black hole

We study the accretion process in the thin disk around a rotating non-Kerr black hole with a deformed parameter and an unbound rotation parameter. Our results show that the presence of the deformed parameter $ε$ modifies the standard properties of the disk. For the case in which the black hole is more oblate than a Kerr black hole, the larger deviation leads to the smaller energy flux, the lower radiation temperature and the fainter spectra luminosity in the disk. For the black hole with positive deformed parameter, we find that the effect of the deformed parameter on the disk becomes more complicated. It depends not only on the rotation direction of the black hole and the orbit particles, but also on the sign of the difference between the deformed parameter $ε$ and a certain critical value $ε_{c}$. These significant features in the mass accretion process may provide a possibility to test the no-hair theorem in the strong field regime in future astronomical observations.

Rotating non-Kerr black hole and energy extraction

The properties of the ergosphere and energy extraction by Penrose process in a rotating non-Kerr black hole are investigated. It is shown that the ergosphere is sensitive to the deformation parameter $ε$ and the shape of the ergosphere becomes thick with increase of the parameter $ε$. It is of interest to note that, comparing with the Kerr black hole, the deformation parameter $ε$ can enhance the maximum efficiency of the energy extraction process greatly. Especially, for the case of $a>M$, the non-Kerr metric describes a superspinning compact object and the maximum efficiency can exceed 60%, while it is only 20.7% for the extremal Kerr black hole.

Strong gravitational lensing by a rotating non-Kerr compact object

We study the strong gravitational lensing in the background of a rotating non-Kerr compact object with a deformed parameter $ε$ and an unbound rotation parameter $a$. We find that the photon sphere radius and the deflection angle depend sharply on the parameters $ε$ and $a$. For the case in which the black hole is more prolate than a Kerr black hole, the photon sphere exists only in the regime $ε\leqε_{max}$ for prograde photon. The upper limit $ε_{max}$ is a function of the rotation parameter $a$. As $ε>ε_{max}$, the deflection angle of the light ray closing very to the naked singularity is a positive finite value, which is different from those in both the usual Kerr black hole spacetime and in the rotating naked singularity described by Janis-Newman-Winicour metric. For the oblate black hole and the retrograde photon, there does not exist such a threshold value. Modelling the supermassive central object of the Galaxy as a rotating non-Kerr compact object, we estimated the numerical values of the coefficients and observables for gravitational lensing in the strong field limit.

Strong Gravitational Lensing of Quasi-Kerr Compact Object with Arbitrary Quadrupole Moments

We study the strong gravitational lensing on the equatorial plane of a quasi-Kerr compact object with arbitrary quadrupole moments which can be used to model the super-massive central object of the galaxy. We find that, when the quadrupolar correction parameter $ξ$ takes the positive (negative) value, the photon-sphere radius $r_{ps}$, the minimum impact parameter $u_{ps}$, the coefficient $\bar{b}$, the relative magnitudes $r_m$ and the angular position of the relativistic images $θ_{\infty}$ are larger (smaller) than the results obtained in the Kerr black hole, but the coefficient $\bar{a}$, the deflection angle $α(θ)$ and the angular separation $s$ are smaller (larger) than that in the Kerr black hole. These features may offer a way to probe special properties for some rotating compact objects by the astronomical instruments in the future.

System-environment dynamics of X-type states in noninertial frames

The system-environment dynamics of noninertial systems is investigated. It is shown that for the amplitude damping channel: (i) the biggest difference between the decoherence effect and the Unruh radiation on the dynamics of the entanglement is the former only leads to entanglement transfer in the whole system, but the latter damages all types of entanglement; (ii) the system-environment entanglement increases and then declines, while the environment-environment entanglement always increases as the decay parameter $p$ increases; and (iii) the thermal fields generated by the Unruh effect can promote the sudden death of entanglement between the subsystems while postpone the sudden birth of entanglement between the environments. It is also found that there is no system-environment and environment-environment entanglements when the system coupled with the phase damping environment.

Analytical investigation of the phase transition between holographic insulator and superconductor in Gauss-Bonnet gravity

We employ the variational method for the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem to analytically study the phase transition between the holographic insulator and superconductor in the Gauss-Bonnet gravity. By investigating the s-wave and p-wave holographic insulator/superconductor models, we find that this analytic method is more effective to obtain the analytic results on the condensation and the critical phenomena in the AdS soliton background in Gauss-Bonnet gravity. Our analytic result can be used to back up the numerical computations in the AdS soliton with Gauss-Bonnet correction.

We find the constraint conditions that arbitrarily high CM energy can be obtained for the near-horizon collision of two general geodesic particles in the extremal KN black hole, and note that the charge decreases the value of the latitude in which arbitrarily high CM energy can occurs. We also interpret why the high-velocity collision belt centers to the equator with the increase of the charge.

Holographic superconductor models with the Maxwell field strength corrections

We study the effect of the quadratic field strength correction to the usual Maxwell field on the holographic dual models in the backgrounds of AdS black hole and AdS soliton. We find that in the black hole background, the higher correction to the Maxwell field makes the condensation harder to form and changes the expected relation in the gap frequency. This effect is similar to that caused by the curvature correction. However, in the soliton background we find that different from the curvature effect, the correction to the Maxwell field does not influence the holographic superconductor and insulator phase transition.

We investigate the holographic superconductors in Gauss-Bonnet gravity with Born-Infeld electrodynamics. We find that the Gauss-Bonnet constant, the model parameters and the Born-Infeld coupling parameter will affect the formation of the scalar hair, the transition point of the phase transition from the second order to the first order, and the relation connecting the gap frequency in conductivity with the critical temperature. The combination of the Gauss-Bonnet gravity and the Born-Infeld electrodynamics provides richer physics in the phase transition and the condensation of the scalar hair.

Holographic Superconductors with Power-Maxwell field

With the Sturm-Liouville analytical and numerical methods, we investigate the behaviors of the holographic superconductors by introducing a complex charged scalar field coupled with a Power-Maxwell field in the background of $d$-dimensional Schwarzschild AdS black hole. We note that the Power-Maxwell field takes the special asymptotical solution near boundary which is different from all known cases. We find that the larger power parameter $q$ for the Power-Maxwell field makes it harder for the scalar hair to be condensated. We also find that, for different $q$, the critical exponent of the system is still 1/2, which seems to be an universal property for various nonlinear electrodynamics if the scalar field takes the form of this paper.

Multipartite entanglement for open system in noninertial frames

Based on Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger ($GHZ$) and $W$ initial states, the tripartite entanglement of a fermionic system under the amplitude damping channel and in depolarizing noise when two subsystems accelerated is investigated. Unlike the case of two-qubit system in which sudden death occurs easily, we find here that the sudden death never occurs even all subsystems are under the noise environment. We note that both acceleration and environment can destroy the symmetry between the subsystems, but the effect of environment is much stronger than that of acceleration. We also show that an entanglement rebound process will take place when $P>0.75$ in the depolarizing noise and the larger acceleration will result in the weaker rebound process.

Probing spacetime noncommutative constant via charged astrophysical black hole lensing

We study the influence of the spacetime noncommutative parameter on the strong field gravitational lensing in the noncommutative Reissner-Nordström black-hole spacetime. Supposing that the gravitational field of the supermassive central object of the Galaxy is described by this metric, we estimate the numerical values of the coefficients and observables for strong gravitational lensing. Our results show that with the increase of the parameter $\sqrt{\vartheta}$, the observables $θ_{\infty}$ and $r_m$ decrease, while $s$ increases. Our results also show that i) if $\sqrt{\vartheta}$ is strong, the observables are close to those of the noncommutative Schwarzschild black hole lensing; ii) if $\sqrt{\vartheta}$ is weak, the observables are close to those of the commutative Reissner-Nordström black hole lensing; iii) the detectable scope of $\vartheta$ in a noncommutative Reissner-Nordström black hole lensing is $0.12\leq\sqrt{\vartheta}\leq0.26$, which is wider than that in a noncommutative Schwarzschild black hole lensing, $0.18\leq\sqrt{\vartheta}\leq0.26$. This may offer a way to probe the spacetime noncommutative constant $\vartheta$ by the astronomical instruments in the future.

We find that both the right-moving and left-moving quasinormal frequencies depend not only on the warped parameter $v$ of black hole, but also on the coupling between the scalar field and Einstein's tensor. Moreover, we also discuss the warped $AdS/CFT$ correspondence from the quasinormal modes and probe the effects of the coupling on the left and right conformal weights $h_L$ and $h_R$ of the operators dual to the scalar field in the boundary.

Strong gravitational lensing in a squashed Kaluza-Klein Gödel black hole

We investigate the strong gravitational lensing in a squashed Kaluza-Klein black hole immersed in the Gödel universe with global rotation. Our result show that the strong gravitational lensing in the squashed Kaluza-Klein Gödel black hole spacetime has some distinct behaviors from that in the Kerr case. In the squashed Kaluza-Klein Gödel black hole spacetime, the photon sphere radius, the minimum impact parameter, the coefficient $\bar{a}$, $\bar{b}$ and the deflection angle $α(θ)$ in the $ϕ$ direction are independent of whether the photon goes with or against the global rotation of the Gödel Universe. While in the Kerr black hole, the values of these quantities for the prograde photons are different from those for the retrograde photons. Moreover, the coefficient of $\bar{b}$ increases with $j$ in the squashed Kaluza-Klein Gödel black hole, but decreases with $a$ in the Kerr case. We also probe the influence of the squashed effect on the strong gravitational lensing in this black hole and find that in the extremely squashed case $ρ_0=0$, the coefficient $\bar{a}$ is a constant 1 and is independent of the global rotation of the Gödel Universe. Furthermore, we assume that the gravitational field of the supermassive central object of the Galaxy can be described by this metric and estimate the numerical values of the coefficients and the main observables in the strong gravitational lensing.

Deformation of contour and Hawking temperature

It was found that, in an isotropic coordinate system, the tunneling approach brings a factor of 1/2 for the Hawking temperature of a Schwarzschild black hole. In this paper, we address this kind of problem by studying the relation between the Hawking temperature and the deformation of integral contour for the scalar and Dirac particles tunneling. We find that correct Hawking temperature can be obtained exactly as long as the integral contour deformed corresponding to the radial coordinate transform if the transformation is a non-regular or zero function at the event horizon.

Dynamical evolution of a scalar field coupling to Einstein's tensor in the Reissner-Nordström black hole spacetime

We study the dynamical evolution of a scalar field coupling to Einstein's tensor in the background of Reissner-Nordström black hole. Our results show that the the coupling constant $η$ imprints in the wave dynamics of a scalar perturbation. In the weak coupling, we find that with the increase of the coupling constant $η$ the real parts of the fundamental quasinormal frequencies decrease and the absolute values of imaginary parts increase for fixed charge $q$ and multipole number $l$. In the strong coupling, we find that for $l\neq0$ the instability occurs when $η$ is larger than a certain threshold value $η_c$ which deceases with the multipole number $l$ and charge $q$. However, for the lowest $l=0$, we find that there does not exist such a threshold value and the scalar field always decays for arbitrary coupling constant.

We study the greybody factor and Hawking radiation with a non-minimal derivative coupling between the scalar field and the curvature in the background of the slowly rotating Kerr-Newman black hole. Our results show that both the absorption probability and luminosity of Hawking radiation of the scalar field increase with the coupling. Moreover, we also find that for the weak coupling $η<η_c$, the absorption probability and luminosity of Hawking radiation decrease when the black hole's Hawking temperature decreases; while for stronger coupling $η>η_c$, the absorption probability and luminosity of Hawking radiation increase on the contrary when the black hole's Hawking temperature decreases. Geodetic precession and strong gravitational lensing in the dynamical Chern-Simons modified gravity

We have investigated the geodetic precession and the strong gravitational lensing in the slowly-rotating black hole in the dynamical Chern-Simons modified gravity theory. We present the formulas of the orbital period $T$ and the geodetic precession angle $ΔΘ$ for the timelike particles in the circular orbits around the black hole, which shows that the change of the geodetic precession angle with the Chern-Simons coupling parameter $ξ$ is converse to the change of the orbital period with $ξ$ for fixed $a$. We also discuss the effects of the Chern-Simons coupling parameter on the strong gravitational lensing when the light rays pass close to the black hole and obtain that for the stronger Chern-Simons coupling the prograde photons may be captured more easily, and conversely, the retrograde photons is harder to be captured in the slowly-rotating black hole in the dynamical Chern-Simons modified gravity. How the Hawking effect and prepared states affect Entanglement distillability of Dirac fields

How the Hawking effect and the prepared states influence the entanglement distillability of Dirac fields in the Schwarzschild spacetime is studied by using the Werner states which are composed of the maximum or generic entangled states. It is found that the states are entangled when the parameter of the Werner states, $F$, satisfies $τ<F\leq 1$ in which $τ$ is influenced both by the Hawking temperature of the black hole and energy of the fields. It is also shown that although the parameter of the generic entangled states, $α$, affects the entanglement, it does not change the range of the parameter, $F$, where the states are entangled for the case of generic entangled states.

Improved parametrization of the growth index for dark energy and DGP models

We propose two improved parameterized form for the growth index of the linear matter perturbations: (I) $γ(z)=γ_0+(γ_{\infty}-γ_0){z\over z+1}$ and (II) $γ(z)=γ_0+γ_1 \frac{z}{z+1}+(γ_{\infty}-γ_1-γ_0)(\frac{z}{z+1})^α$. With these forms of $γ(z)$, we analyze the accuracy of the approximation the growth factor $f$ by $Ω^{γ(z)}_m$ for both the $ω$CDM model and the DGP model. For the first improved parameterized form, we find that the approximation accuracy is enhanced at the high redshifts for both kinds of models, but it is not at the low redshifts. For the second improved parameterized form, it is found that $Ω^{γ(z)}_m$ approximates the growth factor $f$ very well for all redshifts. For chosen $α$, the relative error is below 0.003% for the $Λ$CDM model and 0.028% for the DGP model when $Ω_{m}=0.27$. Thus, the second improved parameterized form of $γ(z)$ should be useful for the high precision constraint on the growth index of different models with the observational data. Moreover, we also show that $α$ depends on the equation of state $ω$ and the fractional energy density of matter $Ω_{m0}$, which may help us learn more information about dark energy and DGP models.

Multipartite entanglement of fermionic systems in noninertial frames

The bipartite and tripartite entanglement of a 3-qubit fermionic system when one or two subsystems accelerated are investigated. It is shown that all the one-tangles decrease as the acceleration increases. However, unlike the scalar case, here one-tangles ${\cal N}_{C_I(AB_I)}$ and ${\cal N}_{C_I(AB)}$ never reduce to zero for any acceleration. It is found that the system has only tripartite entanglement when either one or two subsystems accelerated, which means that the acceleration doesn't generate bipartite entanglement and doesn't effect the entanglement structure of the quantum states in this system. It is of interest to note that the $π$-tangle of the two-observers-accelerated case decreases much quicker than that of the one-observer-accelerated case and it reduces to a non-zero minimum in the infinite acceleration limit. Thus we argue that the qutrit systems are better than qubit systems to perform quantum information processing tasks in noninertial systems.

Quantum decoherence, which appears when a system interacts with its environment in an irreversible way, plays a fundamental role in the description of quantum-to-classical transitions and has been successfully applied in some important experiments. Here, we study the decoherence in noninertial frames for the first time. It is shown that the decoherence and loss of the entanglement generated by the Unruh effect will influence each other remarkably. It is found that the entanglement does not depend on the mass of the particle and the coupling between the scalar field and the gravitational field, but it decreases as the dilaton parameter $D$ increases. It is interesting to note that in the limit of $D\to M$, corresponding to the case of an extreme black hole, the state has no longer distillable entanglement for any state parameter $α$, but the mutual information equals to a nonvanishing minimum value, which indicates that the total correlations consist of classical correlations plus bound entanglement in this limit.

In this paper, we find that to work out the Hawking temperature in a different coordinate system by the tunneling approach, we must use the correct definition of the energy of the radiating particles. By using a new definition of the particle energy, we obtain the correct Hawking temperature for a Schwarzschild black hole in two dynamic coordinate systems, the Kruskal-Szekers and dynamic Lemaitre coordinate systems.

The torsion cosmology in Kaluza-Klein theory

We have studied the torsion cosmology model in Kaluza-Klein theory. We considered two simple models in which the torsion vectors are $A_μ=(α,0,0,0)$ and $A_μ=a(t)^2(0,β,β,β)$, respectively. For the first model, the accelerating expansion of the Universe can be not explained without dark energy which is similar to that in the standard cosmology. But for the second model, we find that without dark energy the effect of torsion can give rise to the accelerating expansion of the universe and the alleviation of the well-known age problem of the three old objects for appropriated value of the model parameter $β$. These outstanding features of the second torsion cosmology model have been supported by the Type Ia supernovae (SNIa) data.

Can Martinez's conjecture be extended to string theory?

The universality of Martinez's conjecture, which states that the quasilocal energy of a black hole at the outer horizon reduces to twice its irreducible mass, or equivalently, to $\sqrt{A/4π}$ ($A$ is the area of the black hole), is investigated by calculating Brown-York quasilocal energies for stationary black holes in heterotic string theory, e. g., for the stationary Kaluza-Klein black hole, the rotating Cveti$\check{c}$-Youm black hole, the stationary axisymmetric Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton-axion black hole, and the Kerr-Sen black hole. It is shown that Martinez's conjecture can be extended from general relativity to heterotic string theory since the quasilocal energies of these stationary black holes tend to their Arnowitt-Dener-Misner masses at spatial infinity, and reduce to $\sqrt{A/4π}$ at the event horizons.

Statistical Entropy of a Stationary Dilaton Black Hole from Cardy Formula

With Carlip's boundary conditions, a standard Virasoro subalgebra with corresponding central charge for stationary dilaton black hole obtained in the low-energy effective field theory describing string is constructed at a Killing horizon. The statistical entropy of stationary dilaton black hole yielded by standard Cardy formula agree with its Bekenstein-Hawking entropy only if we take period $ T$ of function $v$ as the periodicity of the Euclidean black hole. On the other hand, if we consider first-order quantum correction then the entropy contains a logarithmic term with a factor $-{1/2}$, which is different from Kaul and Majumdar's one, $-{3/2}$. We also show that the discrepancy is not just for the dilaton black hole, but for any one whose corresponding central change takes the form $\frac{c}{12}= \frac{A_H}{8πG}\frac{2π}{κT}$.
