Investigating $Ωϕ$ Interaction and Correlation Functions

In this work, we investigate the interaction between the $Ω$ baryon and the $s\bar{s}$ meson within the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model. The spectra calculations show that no bound state is formed in any of the considered channels, while the scattering indicates that the $Ωϕ$ interaction with $J^{P}=1/2^{-}$ is weakly attractive. As for the $Ωϕ$ interactions with $J^{P}=3/2^{-}$ and $5/2^{-}$, as well as the $Ωη^{\prime}$ interaction with $J^{P}=3/2^{-}$, they are all repulsive. After an investigation on the femtoscopic correlation functions, we find that, due to the spin-averaging effect, the overall $Ωϕ$ correlation function exhibits a weak dependence on the source size, which provides a crucial significance of our model for future experimental examinations in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

Investigation of deuteron-like singly bottomed dibaryon resonances

We perform a systematical investigation of the existence of the deuteron-like singly bottomed dibaryon resonance states with strangeness $S=-1,~-3,~-5$ in the chiral quark model. Two resonance states with strangeness $S=-1$ are obtained in the baryon-baryon scattering process. The first candidate is $ΣΣ_b$ in the $ΛΛ_b$ and $NΞ_b^*$ scattering process, with the resonance energy 6974.22 MeV - 6975.37 MeV and the decay width 14.450 MeV, respectively; the other one is $ΣΣ_b^*$ in the $NΞ_b$ and $NΞ'_b$ scattering process, with the resonance energy 6990.69 MeV - 7008.37 MeV and the decay width 43.790 MeV, respectively. The Root Mean Square (RMS) radius calculation shows that the former tends to be in a compact structure, while the latter tends to be in a molecular structure. Both of these resonance states are worthy of experimental exploration. Furthermore, it should be emphasized that the effect of channel-coupling is of great importance in exploring exotic hadron states, and investigating the scattering process may serve as an effective approach to identifying genuine resonances.

Bottomonium-like tetraquarks in a chiral quark model

The low-lying bottomonium-like tetraquarks $b\bar{b}q\bar{q}$ $(q=u,\,d,\,s)$ with spin-parity $J^P=0^+$, $1^+$ and $2^+$, and isospin $I=0,\,1$ or $\frac{1}{2}$, are systematically investigated within the theoretical framework of real- and complex-scaling range of a chiral quark model, which has already been successfully applied in analysis of several multiquark systems. A complete four-body $S$-wave function, which includes meson-meson, diquark-antidiquark and K-type arrangements of quarks, along with all possible color configurations are considered. In the $b\bar{b}q\bar{q}$ $(q=u,\,d)$ tetraquark system, we found resonance states of $B^{(*)} \bar{B}^{(*)}$, $Υω$, $Υρ$ and $η_b ρ$ nature with all possible $I(J^P)$ quantum numbers. Their masses are generally located in the energy range $11.0-11.3$ GeV and their widths are less than $10$ MeV. In addition, extremely narrow resonances, with two-meson strong decay widths less than $1.5$ MeV, are obtained in both $b\bar{b}u\bar{s}$ and $b\bar{b}s\bar{s}$ tetraquark systems. Particularly, four radial excitations of $ΥK^*$ and $η_b K^*$ are found at $\sim11.1$ GeV in $J^P=0^+$, $1^+$ and $2^+$ channels of $b\bar{b}u\bar{s}$ system. One $Υ(1S)ϕ(2S)$ resonance state is obtained at $11.28$ GeV in the $J^P=1^+$ sector.

Fully-charm and -bottom pentaquarks in a Lattice-QCD inspired quark model

The fully-charm and -bottom pentaquarks, \emph{i.e.} $cccc\bar{c}$ and $bbbb\bar{b}$, with spin-parity quantum numbers $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^-$, $\frac{3}{2}^-$ and $\frac{5}{2}^-$, are investigated within a Lattice-QCD inspired quark model, which has already successfully described the recently announced fully-charm tetraquark candidate $X(6900)$, and has also predicted several other fully-heavy tetraquarks. A powerful computational technique, based on the Gaussian expansion method combined with a complex-scaling range approach, is employed to predict, and distinguish, bound, resonance and scattering states of the mentioned five-body system. Both baryon-meson and diquark-diquark-antiquark configurations, along with all of their possible color channels are comprehensively considered. Narrow resonances are obtained in each spin-parity channel for the fully-charm and -bottom systems. Moreover, most of them seems to be compact multiquarks whose wave-functions are dominated by either hidden-color baryon-meson or diquark-diquark-antiquark structure, or by the coupling between them.

Investigation of the bottom analog of the Zcs(3985) state

Motivated by the recent discovery of the hidden charm exotic state with strangeness by the BESIII and LHCb Collaborations, we study the $S$ wave strange hidden bottom tetraquark in two kinds of quark models. Both meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark configurations are taken into account. The numerical results indicate that there is no bound state in both quark models. However, several resonance states have been predicted. Three resonance states with $I(J^{P})=\frac{1}{2}(0^{+})$ are found, the energy ranges of which are $10479\sim 10550$, $10528\sim 10632$, and $10597\sim 10681$ MeV, respectively. Three resonance states with $I(J^{P})=\frac{1}{2}(1^{+})$ are predicted to be located in $10491\sim 10675$, $10502\sim 10679$, and $10522\sim 10723$ MeV, respectively. Moreover, there also exist a resonance with $I(J^{P})=\frac{1}{2}(2^{+})$ and the mass is estimated to be $10531\sim 10680$ MeV. All these predicted states in the present work should be accessible for the further experiments in LHCb

Fully heavy pentaquarks in quark models

The fully heavy pentaquarks $cccc\bar{c}$ and $bbbb\bar{b}$ are systematically investigated within the chiral quark model and quark delocalization color screening model. The results are consistent in both two moelds, and the effect of the channel-coupling is crucial for forming a bound state of the fully heavy pentaquark system. Three possible fully heavy pentaquarks are obtained, which are the $cccc\bar{c}$ state with $J^P = 1/2^-$ and the mass of $7891.9 \sim 7892.7$ MeV, the $bbbb\bar{b}$ state with $J^P=1/2^-$ and the mass of $23810.1 \sim 23813.8$ MeV, and the $bbbb\bar{b}$ state with $J^P = 3/2^-$ and the mass of $23748.2 \sim 23752.3$ MeV. All these fully heavy pentaquark states are worth searching in future experiments.

Investigation of hidden-charm pentaquarks with strangeness $S=-1$

Recently, a new hidden-charm pentaquark state $P_{cs}(4459)$ was reported by the LHCb Collaboration. Stimulated by the fact that all hidden-charm pentaquark states in $S=0$ systems were successfully predicted by our chiral quark model, we extended this study to the $S=-1$ systems. All possible quantum numbers $IJ^P=0(\frac{1}{2})^-$, $0(\frac{3}{2})^-$, $0(\frac{5}{2})^-$, $1(\frac{1}{2})^-$, $1(\frac{3}{2})^-$ and $1(\frac{5}{2})^-$ have been investigated. The calculation results shows that the newly observed state $P_{cs}(4459)$ can be explained as $Ξ_c \bar{D}^*$ molecular state and the quantum number is $0(\frac{1}{2})^-$. In addition, we also find other molecular states $Ξ_c \bar{D}$, $Ξ_c^* \bar{D}$ and $Ξ_c' \bar{D}^*$. It is worth mentioning that $Ξ_c \bar{D}^*$ can form a two-peak structure from states in system $0(\frac{1}{2})^-$ and $0(\frac{3}{2})^-$. The decay width of all molecular states is given with the help of real scaling method. These hidden-charm pentaquark states is expected to be further verified in future experiments.

Investigation of meson-meson interaction

In the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model, we investigate the meson-meson interaction in the fully light four-quark system . The calculation of the effective potentials of all the $S-$wave states shows that for most states the interaction between two vector mesons is attractive; the one between a pseudoscalar meson and a vector meson is repulsive or weakly attractive; and the one between two pseudoscalar mesons is always repulsive. However, there is still some exception. The interaction of the $IJ=00$ $ππ$ channel is attractive, while the one of the $IJ=02$ $ϕϕ$ channel is repulsive. So it is difficult to use the $S-$wave $ϕϕ$ state to explain the $X(2239)$ at present calculation. The $S-$wave $ρρ$ states are more likely to be resonance states, which are worthy of investigating in future work. The study of the contribution of each interaction term shows that both the one-gluon exchange and the kinetic energy interaction are important in the interaction between two mesons. The study of the variation of the delocalization parameter indicates that the contribution of the kinetic energy relates to the intermediate-range attraction mechanism in QDCSM, which is achieved by the quark delocalization.

Search for doubly-heavy dibaryons in the quark-delocalization color-screening model

We perform a systemical investigation of the low-lying doubly-heavy dibaryon systems with strange $S=0$, isospin $I=0$, $1$, $2$ and the angular momentum $J=0$, $1$, $2$, $3$ in the quark delocalization color screening model. We find the effect of channel-coupling cannot be neglected in the study of the multi-quark systems. Due to the heavy flavor symmetry, the results of the doubly-charm and doubly-bottom dibaryon systems are similar with each other. Both of them have three bound states, the quantum numbers of which are $IJ=00$, $IJ=02$ and $IJ=13$, respectively. The energies are $4554$ MeV, $4741$ MeV, and $4969$ MeV respectively for the doubly-charm systems and $11219$ MeV, $11416$ MeV, and $11633$ MeV respectively for the doubly-bottom dibaryon systems. Besides, six resonance states are obtained, which are $IJ=00$ $NΞ_{cc}$ and $NΞ_{bb}$ with resonance mass of $4716$ MeV and $11411$ MeV respectively, $IJ=11$ $NΞ^*_{cc}$ and $NΞ^*_{bb}$ with resonance mass of $4757$ MeV and $11432$ MeV respectively, and $IJ=12$ $Σ_{c}Σ^*_{c}$ and $Σ_{b}Σ^*_{b}$ with resonance mass of $4949$ MeV and $11626$ MeV respectively. All these heavy dibaryons are worth searching for on experiments, although it will be a challenging work.

Are $N\barΩ$ bound states?

Inspired by the progress of the experimental search of the $NΩ$ dibaryon by the STAR collaboration, we study $N\barΩ$ systems in the framework of quark delocalization color screening model. Our results show that the attraction between $N$ and $\barΩ$ is a little bit larger than that between $N$ and $Ω$, which indicates that it is more possible for the $N\barΩ$ than the $NΩ$ system to form bound states. The dynamic calculations state that both the $J^{P}=1^{+}$ and $2^{+}$ $N\barΩ$ systems are bound states. The binding energy of these two states are deeper than that of $NΩ$ systems with $J^{P}=2^{+}$, and the $NΩ$ system with $J^{P}=1^{+}$ is unbound. The calculation of the low-energy scattering phase shifts, scattering length and the effective range also supports the existence of the $N\barΩ$ bound states with $J^{P}=1^{+}$ and $2^{+}$. So the $N\barΩ$ states are better hexaquark states and stronger signals are expected in experiments.

Can $Ω(2012)$ be explained as a molecular state?

We conduct a dynamical calculation of pentaquark systems with quark contents $sssu\bar{u}$ in the framework of two quark models: the chiral quark model(ChQM) and quark delocalization color screening model(QDCSM). The effective potentials between baryon and meson clusters are given, and the possible bound states are also investigated. Besides, the study of the scattering process of the open channels is also performed to look for any resonance state. The results show that the $Ω(2012)$ is not suitable for the interpretation as a $Ξ^{*} \bar{K}$ molecular state in present quark models. Two resonance states: the $Ξ^{*}\bar{K}^{*}$ with $IJ^{P}=0\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ ($M=2328\sim2374$ MeV, $Γ=57\sim65.5$ MeV) and $IJ^{P}=1\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ ($M=2341\sim2386$ MeV, $Γ=31.5\sim100$ MeV) are obtained in both QDCSM and ChQM, which indicates that both of these two states are more possible to be existed and worthy of being searched by future experiments.

Doubly Charmed Pentaquarks

The LHCb Collaboration, using its full data set from runs $1$ and $2$, announced in $2019$ a surprising update of the hidden-charm pentaquark states $P_c(4380)^+$ and $P_c(4450)^+$, observed in 2015. A new state, $P_c(4312)^+$, was clearly seen at lower energies; furthermore, the original $P_c(4450)$ resonance was resolved into two individual states, named the $P_c(4440)^+$ and the $P_c(4457)^+$. Motivated by the fact that these new hidden-charm pentaquark states were successfully predicted by our chiral quark model, we extend herein such study to the doubly charmed sector. The analyzed total spin and parity quantum numbers are $J^P=\frac12^-$, $\frac32^-$ and $\frac52^-$, in the $I=\frac12$ and $\frac32$ isospin channels. We find several possible narrow baryon-meson resonances (theoretical masses in parenthesis): $IJ^P = \frac12 \frac12^-$ $Σ_c D(4356)$, $\frac12 \frac32^-$ $Σ^*_c D(4449)$, $\frac32 \frac12^-$ $Σ_c D(4431)$, $\frac32 \frac12^-$ $Σ_c D(4446)$, $\frac32 \frac32^-$ $Σ_c D^*(4514)$ and $\frac32 \frac52^-$ $Ξ^*_{cc} ρ(4461)$ whose widths are $4.8$, $8.0$, $2.6$, $2.2$, $4.0$ and $3.0\,\text{MeV}$, respectively. Moreover, one shallow bound-state is found, too, with quantum numbers $IJ^P = \frac12 \frac32^-$ $Ξ^*_{cc} π(3757)$. These doubly charmed pentaquark states are expected to be identified in future experiments.

Investigation of $qqqs\bar q$ pentaquarks in a chiral quark model

We investigate the pentaquark system $qqqs \bar q$ in a framework of chiral quark model. Two structures, $(qqq)(s\bar{q})$ and $(qqs)(q\bar{q})$, with all possible color, spin, flavor configurations are considered. The calculations show that there are several possible resonance states, $Sigma π$ and $N \bar{K}$ state with $IJ^P=0\frac{1}{2}^-$, $Σ^* π$ with $IJ^P=0\frac{3}{2}^-$, $Σ^* ρ$ with $IJ^P=0\frac{5}{2}^-$, $Δ\bar{K}$ with $IJ^P=1\frac{3}{2}^-$ and $Δ\bar{K}^*$ with $IJ^P=1\frac{5}{2}^-$. Where the $N \bar{K}$ state with $IJ^P=0\frac{1}{2}^-$ can be used to explain the $Λ(1405)$, and together with another state $Σπ$ is related to the two-pole structure of the scattering amplitude proposed before. The decay properties of $Λ(1520)$ prevent the assignment of $Σ^* π$ with $IJ^P=0\frac{3}{2}^-$ to $Λ(1520)$, although the energy $\sim$ 1518 MeV of $Σ^* π$ is close to experimental value of $Λ(1520)$. Other resonance states generally have a large width.

Strange hidden-charm tetraquarks in constituent quark models

Inspired by the newly reported $Z_{cs}(3985)^{-}$ by the BESIII Collaboration, we systematically investigate the strange hidden-charm tetraquark systems $cs\bar{c}\bar{u}$ with two structures: meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark. Two quark models: the chiral quark model (ChQM) and the quark delocalization color screening model (QDCSM) are used here. Similar results are obtained in both two quark models. There is no any bound state in either ChQM or QDCSM, which excludes the molecular state explanation ($D_{s}D^{*}/D_{s}^{*}D/D_{s}^{*}D^{*}$) of the reported $Z_{cs}(3985)^{-}$. However, the effective potentials for the diquark-antidiquark $cs\bar{c}\bar{u}$ systems shows the possibility of some resonance states with mass range of $3916.5\sim 3964.6$ MeV for $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 0^{+}$, $4008.8\sim 4091.2$ MeV for $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 1^{+}$, $4246.8\sim 4418.1$ MeV for $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 2^{+}$. So the observed $Z_{cs}(3985)^{-}$ state is possible to be explained as a compact resonance state composed of $cs\bar{c}\bar{u}$ with $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 0^{+}$ or $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2} 1^{+}$. The study of the scattering process of corresponding open channels is under way to check this conclusion.

Study of the hidden charm pentaquarks $Λ_{c\bar{c}}$ above $4$ GeV

A dynamical calculation of the strange hidden charm pentaquark systems $Λ_{c\bar{c}}$ is performed in the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model. The effective potentials between two clusters are calculated to investigate the interaction between the baryons and mesons. The dynamic calculations indicate that the strange hidden charm pentaquark system with $IJ^{P}=0\frac{1}{2}^{-}$ and $IJ^{P}=0\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ can form bound states with the help of the channel-coupling. The energies of these two system are 4094.3 MeV and 4207.4 Mev, respectively. These two $Λ_{c\bar{c}}$ states are possible to be intriguing pentaquark candidates which are worth searching in experiments. Whereas, for the systems with isospin $I=1$, the effective potentials of all channels are repulsive, and there is no any bound state for these systems.

Towards the understanding of fully-heavy tetraquark states from various models

We use a color-magnetic interaction model (CMIM), a traditional constituent quark model (CQM) and a multiquark color flux-tube model (MCFTM) to systematically investigate the properties of the states $[Q_1Q_2][\bar{Q}_3\bar{Q}_4]$ ($Q=c,b$). The dynamical investigation indicates that the CMIM can not completely absorb QCD dynamical effects through the effective constituent quark mass and overestimates the color-magnetic interaction in the states under the assumption of the same spatial configurations. The Coulomb interaction plays a critical role in the dynamical model calculations on the heavy hadrons, which induces the fact that none of bound states $[Q_1Q_2][\bar{Q}_3\bar{Q}_4]$ can be found in the dynamical models. The color configuration $\left[[Q_1Q_2]_{\mathbf{6}_c}[\bar{Q}_3\bar{Q}_4]_{\bar{\mathbf{6}}_c}\right]_{\mathbf{1}}$ should be taken seriously in the ground states due to the strong Coulomb attraction between the $[Q_1Q_2]_{\mathbf{6}_c}$ and $[\bar{Q}_3\bar{Q}_4]_{\bar{\mathbf{6}}_c}$. The color configuration $\left[[Q_1Q_2]_{\bar{\mathbf{3}}_c}[\bar{Q}_2\bar{Q}_4]_{\mathbf{3}_c}\right]_{\mathbf{1}}$ is absolutely dominant in the excited states because of the strong Coulomb attraction within the $[Q_1Q_2]_{\bar{\mathbf{3}}_c}$ and $[\bar{Q}_2\bar{Q}_4]_{\mathbf{3}_c}$. The $J/Ψ$-pair resonances recently observed by LHCb are difficult to be accommodated in the CMIM. The broad structure ranging from 6.2 to 6.8 GeV can be described as the ground tetraquark state $[cc][\bar{c}\bar{c}]$ in the various dynamical models. The narrow structure $X(6900)$ can be identified as the excited state $[cc][\bar{c}\bar{c}]$ with $L=1$ ($L=2$) in the CQM (MCFTM).

$Y(4626)$ in a chiral constituent quark model

Recently, Belle Collaboration reported a new exotic state $Y(4620)$ with mass at 4625.9 MeV in the positronium annihilation process. Inspired by experiment, we study the tetraquark system $c\bar{s}s\bar{c}$ with quantum numbers $J^{P}=1^{-}$ in the framework of chiral constituent quark model with the help of Gaussian expansion method. Two structures, diquark-antidiquark and meson-meson, with all possible color and spin configurations are considered. The result shows that no bound state can be formed. To investigate the possible resonance states, the real scaling method is employed. Several resonance states with energies 4354, 4408, 4469, 4497 and 4531 MeV, are proposed. Taking into account the errors in calculating the $q\bar{q}$ mesons, the system errors in the calculation of four-quark system are around 60$\sim 100$ MeV. The resonance with energy 4531 MeV is possible the candidate of the newly found state $Y(4620)$.

preprint2019arXiv

Can the state $Y(4626)$ be a $P$-wave tetraquark state $[cs][\bar{c}\bar{s}]$?

Stimulated by the state $Y(4626)$ recently reported by Belle Collaboration, we utilize a multiquark color flux-tube model with a multibody confinement potential and one-glue-exchange interaction to make an exhaustive investigation on the diquark-antidiquark state $[cs][\bar{c}\bar{s}]$. Numerical results indicate that the appearance of the states $[cs][\bar{c}\bar{s}]$ like a dumb-bell, the larger the orbital excitation $L$, the more distinguished the shape. The mixing of the color configurations $\left[[cs]_{\bar{\mathbf{3}}_c}[\bar{c}\bar{s}]_{\mathbf{3}_c}\right]_{\mathbf{1}}$ and $\left[[cs]_{\mathbf{6}_c}[\bar{c}\bar{s}]_{\bar{\mathbf{6}}_c}\right]_{\mathbf{1}}$ in the ground states is strong while the color configuration $\left[[cs]_{\bar{\mathbf{3}}_c}[\bar{c}\bar{s}]_{\mathbf{3}_c}\right]_{\mathbf{1}}$ is absolutely predominant in the excited states. The main component of the state $Y(4626)$ can be interpreted as a $P$-wave state $[cs][\bar{c}\bar{s}]$. Its hidden-bottom partner is predicted in the model calculation. The states $X(4140)$, $X(4274)$, $X(4350)$, $X(4500)$ and $X(4700)$ are also discussed.

Doubly-heavy tetraquarks

In the framework of the chiral quark model along with complex scaling range, we perform a dynamical study on the low-lying $S$-wave doubly-heavy tetraquark states ($QQ\bar{q}\bar{q}$, $Q=c, b$ and $q=u, d$) with an accurate computing approach, Gaussian expansion method. The meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark configurations within all possible color structures for spin-parity quantum numbers $J^P=0^+$, $1^+$ and $2^+$, and in the $0$ and $1$ isospin sectors are considered. Possible tightly bound and narrow resonance states are obtained for doubly-charm and doubly-bottom tetraquarks with $IJ^P=01^+$, and these exotic states are also obtained in charm-bottom tetraquarks with $00^+$ and $01^+$ quantum numbers. Only loosely bound state is found in charm-bottom tetraquarks of $02^+$ states. All of these bound states within meson-meson configurations are loosely bound whether in color-singlet channels or coupling to hidden-color ones. However compact structures are available in diquark-antidiquark channels except for charm-bottom tetraquarks in $02^+$ states.

Prediction of $NΩ$-like dibaryons with heavy quarks

Possible $NΩ$-like dibaryons $NΩ_{ccc}$ and $NΩ_{bbb}$ with quantum numbers $IJ^P=\frac{1}{2}2^+$ are investigated within the framework of quark delocalization color screening model. We find both of these two states are bound, and the binding energy increases as the quarks of the system become heavier. The attraction between $N$ and $Ω_{ccc}$ (or $Ω_{bbb}$) mainly comes from the kinetic energy term due to quark delocalization and color screening. The effect of the channel-coupling provides more effective attraction to $NΩ_{ccc}$ and $NΩ_{bbb}$ systems. Besides, the scattering length, the effective range, and the binding energy, obtained from the calculation of the low-energy scattering phase shifts, also supports the existence of the $NΩ_{ccc}$ and $NΩ_{bbb}$ states. All these properties can provide necessary information for experimental search for the $NΩ$-like dibaryons with heavy quarks. And the experimental progress can also check the mechanism of the intermediate-range attraction of the baryon-baryon interaction in quark models.

Reanalysis of the most strange dibaryon within constituent quark models

The most strange dibaryon $ΩΩ$ with quantum numbers $S=-6$, $I=0$, and $J^{P}=0^{+},~1^{-},~2^{+},~3^{-}$ is reanalyzed in the framework of quark delocalization color screening model (QDCSM) and chiral quark model (ChQM). The $ΩΩ$ dibaryon with $J^{P}=0^{+}$ is bound, and the one with other quantum numbers $J^{P}=1^{-},~2^{+},~3^{-}$ are all unbound in our calculation. The low-energy scattering phase shifts, the scattering length, and the effective range of the $ΩΩ$ dibaryon with $J^{P}=0^{+}$ also support the existence of such strange dibaryon. This dibaryon is showed to be a shallow bound state in QDCSM, while the binding energy becomes much larger in the ChQM by including the effect of the hidden-color channel coupling. And the scalar nonet meson-exchange in the ChQM also provides more attraction for the $ΩΩ$ system. Experimental search for such most strange dibaryon will provide much information for understanding the hadron-hadron interactions in different quark models.

Triply-heavy baryons in a constituent quark model

A constituent quark model, which has recently been successfully applied to the study of heavy quarkonium properties such as its spectrum but also a diverse array of observables related with their electromagnetic, strong and weak decays and reactions, is used herein to compute ground- and excited-state masses of $QQQ$-baryons containing either $c$- or $b$-quarks. Considering the lack of experimental information about the spectra of triply-heavy baryons, we believe that our computation could help on finding new states, since it is expected that phenomenological quark models describe triply-heavy baryons to a similar degree of accuracy as heavy quarkonia. The quark model parameters previously used to describe $c\bar c$ and $b\bar b$ properties have not been modified for this analysis. The non-relativistic three-body bound-state problem is solved by means of the Gaußian expansion method which provides enough accuracy and simplifies the subsequent evaluation of the matrix elements. Several low-lying states with quantum numbers $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^{\pm}$, $\frac{3}{2}^{\pm}$, $\frac{5}{2}^{\pm}$ and $\frac{7}{2}^+$ are reported. We compare our results with those predicted by many other theoretical formalisms. There is a general trend of agreement about the mass of the ground state in each sector of triply-heavy baryons; however, the situation is more puzzling for the excited states and thus appropriate comments on the most relevant features of our comparison are given.

Is the exotic $X(5568)$ a bound state?

Stimulated by the recent observation of the exotic $X(5568)$ state by D0 Collaboration, we study the four-quark system $us\bar{b}\bar{d}$ with quantum numbers $J^P=0^+$ in the framework of chiral quark model. Two structures, diquark-antidiquark and meson-meson, with all possible color configurations are investigated by using Gaussian expansion method. The results show that energies of the tetraquark states with diquark-antiquark structure are too high to the candidate of $X(5568)$, and no molecular structure can be formed in our calculations. The calculation is also extended to the four-quark system $us\bar{c}\bar{d}$ and the same results as that of $us\bar{b}\bar{d}$ are obtained.

Possible pentaquarks with heavy quarks

Inspired by the discovery of two pentaquarks $P_{c}(4380)$ and $P_{c}(4450)$ at the LHCb detector, we study possible hidden-charm molecular pentaquarks in the framework of quark delocalization color screening model. Our results suggest that both $Nη_{c}$ with $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2}\frac{1}{2}^{-}$ and $NJ/ψ$ with $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2}\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ are bounded by channels coupling. However, $NJ/ψ$ with $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2}\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ may be a resonance state in the $D-$wave $Nη_{c}$ scattering process. Moreover, $P_{c}(4380)$ can be explained as the molecular pentaquark of $Σ^{*}_{c}D$ with quantum numbers $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2}\frac{3}{2}^{-}$. The state $Σ^{*}_{c}D^{*}$ with $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2}\frac{5}{2}^{-}$ is a resonance, it may not be a good candidate of the observed $P_{c}(4450)$ because of the opposite parity of the state to $P_{c}(4380)$, although the mass of the state is not far from the experimental value. In addition, the calculation is extended to the hidden-bottom pentaquarks, the similar properties as that of hidden-charm pentaquarks system are obtained.

Configuration mixing and effective baryon-baryon interactions

The effective baryon-baryon interactions is studied in the refined quark delocalization color screening model (QDCSM), in which the different quark clusterings are fully taken into account, instead of controlling by a variational delocalization parameter $ε(s)$ between two 3-quark clusters. The symmetry bases are employed to do the calculation, all possible configurations for two quark clusters are considered. The results obtained are very similar to that of QDCSM. It is inferred that the delocalization parameter $ε(s)$ used in QDCSM is an economic and effective way to describe the mixing of quarks between baryons.

Further study of the $NΩ$ dibaryon within constituent quark models

Inspired by the discovery of the dibaryon $d^{*}$ and the experimental search of $NΩ$ dibaryon with the STAR data, we study the strange dibaryon $NΩ$ further in the framework of quark delocalization color screening model and chiral quark model. We have shown $NΩ$ is a narrow resonance in $ΛΞ$ D-wave scattering before. However, the $Λ$-$Ξ$ scattering data analysis is quite complicated. Here we calculate the low-energy $NΩ$ scattering phase shifts, scattering length, effective range and binding energy to provide another approach of STAR data analysis. Our results show there exists an $NΩ$ "bound" state, which can be observed by the $N$-$Ω$ correlation analysis with RHIC and LHC data, or by the new developed automatic scanning system at J-PARC. Besides, we also find that the hidden color channel-coupling is important for the $NΩ$ system to develop intermediate-range attraction.

Systematic study of $Z^+_c$ family from quark model's perspective

Inspired by the present experimental status of charged charmonium-like states $Z_c^+$, the tetraquark states $[cu][\bar{c}\bar{d}]$ are systematically studied in a color flux-tube model with a multi-body confinement potential. The investigation indicates that charged charmonium-like states $Z_c^+(3900)$ or $Z_c^+(3885)$, $Z_c^+(3930)$, $Z_c^+(4020)$ or $Z_c^+(4025)$, $Z_1^+(4050)$, $Z_2^+(4250)$, and $Z_c^+(4200)$ can be uniformly described as tetraquark states $[cu][\bar{c}\bar{d}]$ with the quantum numbers $n^{2S+1}L_J$ and $J^P$ of $1^{3}S_1$ and $1^+$, $2^{3}S_1$ and $1^+$, $1^5S_2$ and $2^+$, $1^3P_1$ and $1^-$, $1^5D_1$ and $1^+$, and $1^3D_1$ and $1^+$, respectively. The predicted lowest charged tetraquark state $[cu][\bar{c}\bar{d}]$ with $0^+$ and $1^1S_0$ has a energy of $3780\pm10$ MeV in the model. The tetraquark states are compact three-dimensional spatial configurations similar to a rugby ball, the higher orbital angular momentum $L$ between the diquark $[cu]$ and antidiquark $[\bar{c}\bar{d}]$, the more prolate of the states. The multibody color flux-tube, a collective degree of freedom, plays an important role in the formation of those charge tetraquark states. However, the two heavier charged states $Z^+_c(4430)$ and $Z^+_c(4475)$ can not be explained as tetraquark states $[cu][\bar{c}\bar{d}]$ in this model approach.

Interpreting $Z_c(3900)$ and $Z_c(4025)/Z_c(4020)$ as charged tetraquark states

In the framework of color flux-tube model with a four-body confinement potential, the lowest charged tetraquark states $[Qq][\bar{Q}'\bar{q}']~(Q=c,b,q=u,d,s)$ are studied by using the variational method, Gaussian expansion method. The results indicate that some compact resonance states can be formed, the states can not decay into two color singlet mesons $Q\bar{q}'$ and $\bar{Q}'q$ through the breakdown and recombination of color flux tubes but into $Q\bar{Q}'$ and $q\bar{q}'$. The four-body confinement potential is an crucial dynamical mechanism for the formation of states, The decay mechanism is similar to that of compound nucleus and therefore the states should be called "color confined, multi-quark resonance" states. The newly observed charged states $Z_c(3900)$ and $Z_c(4025)/Z_c(4020)$ can be accommodated in the color flux-tube model and can be interpreted as the $S$-wave tetraquark states $[cu][{\bar{c}\bar{d}}]$ with quantum numbers $I=1$ and $J=1$ and 2, respectively.

Radially Excited States of $η_c$

In the framework of chiral quark model, the mass spectrum of $η_c(ns) (n=1,...,6)$ is studied with Gaussian expansion method. With the wave functions obtained in the study of mass spectrum, the open flavor two-body strong decay widths are calculated by using $^3P_0$ model. The results show that the masses of $η_c(1S)$ and $η_c(2S)$ are consistent with the experimental data. The explanation of X(3940) as $η_c(3S)$ is disfavored for X(3940) is a narrow state, $Γ=37^{+26}_{-15} \pm 8 $ MeV, while the open flavor two-body strong decay width of $η_c(3S)$ is about 200 MeV in our calculation. Although the mass of X(4160) is about 100 MeV less than that of $η_c(4S)$, the assignment of X(4160) as $η_c(4S)$ can not be excluded because the open flavor two-body strong decay width of $η_c(4S)$ is consistent with the experimental value of X(4160) and the branching ratios of $η_c(4S)$ are compatible with that of X(4160), and the mass of $η_c(4S)$ can be shifted downwards by taking into account the coupling effect of the open charm channels. There are still no good candidates to $η_c(5S)$ and $η_c(6S)$.

Theoretical study of a $d^{*}$ resonance in $^{3}G_{3}$ partial wave of nucleon-nucleon scattering

Inspired by the recent results of the WASA-at-COSY Collaboration, in which they found a resonance pole in the coupled $^{3}D_{3}$ - $^{3}G_{3}$ partial waves as expected from the $d^{*}$ resonance hypothesis, we calculated the resonance structure in the coupled $^{3}D_{3}$ - $^{3}G_{3}$ partial wave phase shifts of nucleon-nucleon scattering in the framework of two constituent quark models: the quark delocalization color screening model and the chiral quark model. Our results show that there is a resonance $^{7}S_{3}^{ΔΔ}$ in the coupled $^{3}D_{3}^{NN}$ and $^{3}G_{3}^{NN}$ partial waves in both of these two models, which is in accordance with the expectation from the $d^{*}$ resonance structure. The resonance shape in the $^{3}D_{3}^{NN}$ partial wave is remarkable, whereas in the $^{3}G_{3}^{NN}$ phase shifts there is a small rise around the resonance energy. This result is in agreement with the recent experimental observations of WASA-at-COSY Collaboration.

Baryonia and near-threshold enhancements

The baryon-antibaryon spectrum consisting of strange, charm and bottom quarks is studied in the color flux-tube model with a multi-body confinement interaction. Numerical results indicate that many low-spin baryon-antibaryon states can form compact hexaquark states and are stable against the decay into a baryon and an antibaryon. The multi-body confinement interaction as a binding mechanism plays an important role in the formation of the states. They can be searched in the $e^+e^-$ annihilation and charmonium or bottomonium decay if they really exist. The newly reported states, X(1835), X(2370), Y(2175), Y(4360) and Y_b(10890), may be interpreted as $N\bar{N}$, $Δ\barΔ$, $Λ\barΛ$, $Λ_c\barΛ_c$ and $Λ_b\barΛ_b$ states, respectively.

Dynamical calculation of the $ΔΔ$ dibaryon candidates

We perform a dynamical calculation of the $ΔΔ$ dibaryon candidates with $IJ^{P}=03^{+}$ and $IJ^{P}=30^{+}$ in the framework of two constituent quark models: the quark delocalization color screening model and the chiral quark model. Our results show that the dibaryon resonances with $IJ^{P}=03^{+}$ and $IJ^{P}=30^{+}$ can be formed in both models. The mass and width of $IJ^{P}=03^{+}$ state are smaller than that of $IJ^{P}=30^{+}$ state due to the one-gluon-exchange interaction between quarks. The resonance mass and decay width of $IJ^{P}=03^{+}$ state in both models agree with that of the recent observed resonance in the reaction $pn \rightarrow dπ^{0}π^{0}$. The $IJ^{P}=30^{+}$ $ΔΔ$ is another dibaryon candidate with smaller binding energy and larger width. The hidden-color channel coupling is added to the chiral quark model, and we find it can lower the mass of the dibaryons by 10-20 MeV.

Possible $H$-like dibaryon states with heavy quarks

Possible $H$-like dibaryon states $Λ_{c}Λ_{c}$ and $Λ_{b}Λ_{b}$ are investigated within the framework of quark delocalization color screening model. The results show that the interaction between two $Λ_{c}$'s is repulsive, so it cannot be bound state by itself. However, the strong attraction in $Σ_{c}Σ_{c}$ and $Σ^{*}_{c}Σ^{*}_{c}$ channels and the strong channel coupling, due to the central interaction of one-gluon-exchange and one-pion-exchange, among $Λ_{c}Λ_{c}$, $Σ_{c}Σ_{c}$ and $Σ^{*}_{c}Σ^{*}_{c}$ push the energy of system below the threshold of $Λ_{c}Λ_{c}$ by $22$ MeV. The corresponding system $Λ_{b}Λ_{b}$ has the similar properties as that of $Λ_{c}Λ_{c}$ system, and a bound state is also possible in $Λ_{b}Λ_{b}$ system.

Possible interpretation of the $Z_b$(10610) and $Z_b$(10650) in a chiral quark model

Motivated by the two charged bottomonium-like resonances $Z_b$(10610) and $Z_b$(10650) newly observed by the Belle collaboration, the possible molecular states composed of a pair of heavy mesons, $B\bar{B}, B\bar{B}^*, B^*\bar{B}^*, B_s\bar{B}$, etc (in S-wave), are investigated in the framework of chiral quark models by the Gaussian expansion method. The bound states $B\bar{B}^*$ and $B^*\bar{B}^*$ with quantum numbers $I(J^{PC})=1(1^{+-})$, which are good candidates for the $Z_b(10610)$ and $Z_b(10650)$ respectively, are obtained. Other three bound states $B\bar{B}^*$ with $I(J^{PC})=0(1^{++})$, $B^*\bar{B}^*$ with $I(J^{PC})=1(0^{++}), 0(2^{++})$ are predicted. These states may be observed in open-bottom or hidden-bottom decay channel of highly excited $Υ$. When extending directly the quark model to the hidden color channel of the multi-quark system, more deeply bound states are found. Future experimental search of those states will cast doubt on the validity of applying the chiral constituent quark model to the hidden color channel directly.

QCD quark cyclobutadiene and light tetraquark spectrum

The QCD quark cyclobutadiene (ring-like), a new color structure of tetraquark system, is proposed and studied in the flux tube model with multi-body confinement potential. The QCD quark cyclobutadiene and other flux tube structures of tetraquark states have similar energies and they can be regarded as QCD isomeric compounds. The light tetraquark spectra ($u, d, s$ only) with ring-like and diquark-antidiquark structures are calculated in the flux tube model. The results show that many experimental states have the masses close to the calculated values if they are taken as tetraquark states. The isotensor states with $J^{PC}=1^{--}$ and $J^{PC}=2^{++}$ are studied and predicted that the masses are around 1500 MeV. The multi-body interaction plays a important role to reduce the energy of the multiquark state.

X(1835), X(2120) and X(2370) in a flux tube model

Nonstrange baryonium spectrum is systematically studied by using the Gaussian expansion method in a flux tube model with the six-body confinement potential. All the model parameters are fixed by baryon properties, so the baryonium calculation is parameter-free. We find that X(1835) and X(2370), which are observed in the radiative decay of $J/ψ$ by BES collaboration, can be described as $N_8\bar{N}_8$ and $Δ_8\barΔ_8$ bound states with quantum numbers $I^GJ^{PC}=0^+0^{-+}$, respectively, such bound states should be color confinement resonances with three-dimensional configurations similar to dumbbell, however, X(2120) can not be accommodated in our model.

Study of $p\barΛ$ and $p\barΣ$ systems in constituent quark models

The $p\barΛ$ systems with J=0 and J=1 are dynamically investigated within the framework of two constituent quark models: the chiral quark model and the quark delocalization color screening model. The model parameters are taken from our previous work, which gave a good description of the proton-antiproton S-wave elastic scattering cross section experimental data. The $p\barΛ$ elastic scattering processes with coupling to $p\barΣ$ state are studied. The results show that, there is no s-wave bound state as indicated by an enhancement near the threshold of $p\barΛ$ in $J/ψ$ decay. However, a $IJ = {1/2}0$ $p\barΣ$ resonance state is given in the quark delocalization color screening model.

The effect of hidden color channels on nucleon-nucleon interaction in quark model

In the framework of constituent quark model, the effect of hidden color channels on the nucleon-nucleon ($NN$) interaction is studied. By adjusting the color confinement strength between the hidden color channels and color singlet channels and/or between the hidden color channels and hidden color channels, the experimental data of $S$ to $I$ partial-wave phase shifts of $NN$ scattering can be fitted well. The results show that the hidden color channel coupling might be important in producing the intermediate-range attraction of $NN$ interaction. The deuteron properties and dibaryon candidates have also been studied with this model.

X(1835), X(2120), X(2370) and $η(1760)$ in chiral quark model

By analyzing the meson spectra obtained in the constituent quark model, we find that the pseudoscalar mesons $η'(2^1S_0)$, $η(4^1S_0)$, $η'(3^1S_0)$ and $η'(4^1S_0)$ are the possible candidates of $η(1760)$, X(1835), X(2120) and X(2370). The strong decay widths of these pseudoscalars to all the possible decay modes are calculated within the framework of the $^3P_0$ model. Although the total width of $η'(2^1S_0)$ is compatible with the experimental value of BES for $η(1760)$, the partial decay width to $ωω$ is too small, which is not consistent with the result of BES. If the state X(1835) is interpreted as $η(4^1S_0)$, the total decay width is compatible with the experimental data, and the main decay modes will be $πa_0(980)$ and $πa_0(1450)$, which needs to be checked. The assignment of X(2120) and X(2370) to $η'(3^1S_0)$ and $η'(4^1S_0)$ is also disfavored in the present calculation because of the incompatibility of the decay widths.

Dynamical study of the $X$(3915) as a molecular $D^*\bar{D^*}$ state in a quark model

Considering the coupling of color $1 \otimes 1$ and $8 \otimes 8$ structures, we calculate the energy of the newly observed $X$(3915) as $S-$wave $D^*\bar{D^*}$ state in the Bhaduri, Cohler, and Nogami quark model by the Gaussian Expansion Method. Due to the color coupling, the bound state of $D^*\bar{D^*}$ with $J^{PC}=0^{++}$ is found, which is well consonant with the experimental data of the $X$(3915). The bound state of $B^*\bar{B^*}$ with $J^{PC}=0^{++}$ and $2^{++}$ are also predicted in this work.

Are the $X$(4160) and $X$(3915) charmonium states?

Inspired by the newly observed $X$(4160) and $X$(3915) states, we analyze the mass spectrum of these states in different quark models and calculate their strong decay widths by the $^3P_0$ model. According to the mass spectrum of charmonium states predicted by the potential model, the states $χ_0(3^3P_0), χ_1(3^3P_1), η_{c2}(2^1D_2), η_c(4^1S_0)$ all can be candidates for the $X$(4160). However, only the decay width of the state $η_{c2}(2^1D_2)$ in our calculation is in good agreement with the data reported by Belle and the decay of $η_{c2}(2^1D_2)\to D\bar{D}$, which is not seen in experiment, is also forbidden. Therefore, it is reasonable to interpret the charmonium state $η_{c2}(2^1D_2)$ as the state X(4160). For the state X(3915), although the mass of $χ_0(2^3P_0)$ is compatible with the experimental value, the calculated strong decay width is much larger than experimental data. Hence, the assignment of X(3915) to charmonium state $χ_0(2^3P_0)$ is disfavored in our calculation.
