Probing Charged Higgs Boson Couplings at the FCC-hh Collider

Many of the new physics models predicts a light Higgs boson similar to the Higgs boson of the Standard Model (SM) and also extra scalar bosons. Beyond the search channels for a SM Higgs boson, the future collider experiments will explore additional channels that are specific to extended Higgs sectors. We study the charged Higgs boson production within the framework of two Higgs doublet models (THDM) in the proton-proton collisions at the FCC-hh collider. With an integrated luminosity of 500 fb$^{-1}$ at very high energy frontier, we obtain a significant coverage of the parameter space and distinguish the charged Higgs-top-bottom interaction within the THDM or other new physics models with charged Higgs boson mass up to 1 TeV.

Anomalous $HZγ$ couplings in photon-induced collisions at the LHC

We have examined $HZγ$ vertex to obtain the limits on anomalous $a_γ$, $b_γ$ and $\tilde b_γ$ couplings in a model independent way through the $γp$ collisions via the process $pp\to p γp\to pHqX$. The sensitivities to the anomalous couplings can be obtained as $|b_γ|$, $|\tilde{b}_γ|\sim 10^{-3}$ for the integrated luminosity of $L_{int}=100 ~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ at the LHC with $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV.

Production and decay of up-type and down-type new heavy quarks through anomalous interactions at the LHC

We study the process pp->QVX (where Q=t,b and V=g,gamma,Z) through the anomalous interactions of the new heavy quarks at the LHC. Considering the present limits on the masses and mixings, the signatures of the heavy quark anomalous interactions are discussed and analysed at the LHC for the center of mass energy of 13 TeV. An important sensitivity to anomalous couplings kappa_{g}^{t'}/Lambda=0.10 TeV^{-1}, kappa_γ^{t'}/Lambda=0.14 TeV^{-1}, kappa_{Z}^{t'}/Lambda=0.19 TeV^{-1} and kappa_{g}^{b'}/Lambda=0.15 TeV^{-1}, kappa_{Z}^{b'}/Lambda=0.19 TeV$^{-1}, kappa_γ^{b'}/Lambda=0.30 TeV$^{-1} for the mass of 750 GeV of the new heavy quarks t' and b' can be reached for an integrated luminosity of L_{int}=100 fb^{-1}.

Search for anomalous $WWγ$ and $WWZ$ couplings with polarized $e$-beam at the LHeC

We examine the potential of the $ep\toν_{e}qγX$ and $ep\toν_{e}qZX$ processes to search for the anomalous couplings of $WWγ$ and $WWZ$ vertices at the LHeC with the electron beam energy of $E_{e}=60$ GeV and $E_{e}=140$ GeV. The difference of maximum and minimum bounds on the anomalous couplings, ($δΔκ_γ$, $δλ_γ$) and ($δΔκ_{Z}$, $δλ_{Z}$) are obtained as ($0.990$, $0.122$) and ($0.362$, $0.012$) without electron beam polarization at the beam energy of $E_{e}=140$ GeV for an integrated luminosity of $L_{int}=100$ fb$^{-1}$, respectively. With the possibility of $e-$beam polarization, we obtain more improved results as ($0.975$, $0.118$) and ($0.285$, $0.009$) for ($δΔκ_γ, δλ_γ$) and ($δΔκ_{Z}, δλ_{Z}$), respectively. The results are found to be comparable with the current experimental limits obtained from two-parameter analysis at the lepton and hadron colliders. It is found that the limits on the anomalous couplings ($Δκ_{Z}$, $λ_{Z}$) through the process $ep\toν_{e}qZX$ at the LHeC can further improve the current experimental limits.

A Large Hadron Electron Collider at CERN

This document provides a brief overview of the recently published report on the design of the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC), which comprises its physics programme, accelerator physics, technology and main detector concepts. The LHeC exploits and develops challenging, though principally existing, accelerator and detector technologies. This summary is complemented by brief illustrations of some of the highlights of the physics programme, which relies on a vastly extended kinematic range, luminosity and unprecedented precision in deep inelastic scattering. Illustrations are provided regarding high precision QCD, new physics (Higgs, SUSY) and electron-ion physics. The LHeC is designed to run synchronously with the LHC in the twenties and to achieve an integrated luminosity of O(100) fb$^{-1}$. It will become the cleanest high resolution microscope of mankind and will substantially extend as well as complement the investigation of the physics of the TeV energy scale, which has been enabled by the LHC.

Associated Production of Different Flavor Heavy Quarks Through $W'$ Bosons at the LHC

Associated production of different flavor heavy quarks can provide a probe for $W'$ bosons at the LHC. We study $pp\to t'\bar{b'}X$ process with the subsequent decays $t'\to W^+b$ and $\bar{b'}\to W^-W^+\bar b$, and compare the results with the $t\bar{b}$ final state. The effects of the $W'$ boson to the different flavor pair production cross section are shown to be important in some parameter region for the heavy quark masses of 600 and 700 GeV. We present accessible mass limits for the $W'$ boson at the LHC with $\sqrt s$=14 TeV.

Associated Production of Single Top Quark and W-boson Through Anomalous Couplings at LHeC based $γp$ Colliders

We consider the production of a single top quark in association with a $W$ boson at LHeC based $γp$ collider. We compute the cross section for the process $γp\rightarrow WtX$ with the anomalous $Wtb$ and $Wtbγ$ couplings. We find that the sensitivities to anomalous couplings of top quark are shown to be comparable, even better than the ones obtained from direct searches at hadron colliders.

On the Relation of the LHeC and the LHC

The present note relies on the recently published conceptual design report of the LHeC and extends the first contribution to the European strategy debate in emphasising the role of the LHeC to complement and complete the high luminosity LHC programme. The brief discussion therefore focuses on the importance of high precision PDF and $α_s$ determinations for the physics beyond the Standard Model (GUTs, SUSY, Higgs). Emphasis is also given to the importance of high parton density phenomena in nuclei and their relevance to the heavy ion physics programme at the LHC.

Probing Anomalous HZZ Couplings at the LHeC

We examine the sensitivity to the couplings of the Higgs boson to neutral gauge bosons in a model independent way at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC). We have obtained the constraints on anomalous couplings for $HZZ$ vertex via the process $e^{-}p\rightarrow e^{-}HqX$. We find the accessible limits of the anomalous coupling $b_{Z}$ as $(-0.12,0.43)$ and $(-0.10,0.33)$, while the limits on coupling $β_{Z}$ as ($-0.32,0.32$) and $(-0.24,0.24)$ at the electron beam energy $E_{e}=60$ GeV and $E_{e}=140$ GeV, respectively.

A Large Hadron Electron Collider at CERN: Report on the Physics and Design Concepts for Machine and Detector

The physics programme and the design are described of a new collider for particle and nuclear physics, the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC), in which a newly built electron beam of 60 GeV, up to possibly 140 GeV, energy collides with the intense hadron beams of the LHC. Compared to HERA, the kinematic range covered is extended by a factor of twenty in the negative four-momentum squared, $Q^2$, and in the inverse Bjorken $x$, while with the design luminosity of $10^{33}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ the LHeC is projected to exceed the integrated HERA luminosity by two orders of magnitude. The physics programme is devoted to an exploration of the energy frontier, complementing the LHC and its discovery potential for physics beyond the Standard Model with high precision deep inelastic scattering measurements. These are designed to investigate a variety of fundamental questions in strong and electroweak interactions. The physics programme also includes electron-deuteron and electron-ion scattering in a $(Q^2, 1/x)$ range extended by four orders of magnitude as compared to previous lepton-nucleus DIS experiments for novel investigations of neutron's and nuclear structure, the initial conditions of Quark-Gluon Plasma formation and further quantum chromodynamic phenomena. The LHeC may be realised either as a ring-ring or as a linac-ring collider. Optics and beam dynamics studies are presented for both versions, along with technical design considerations on the interaction region, magnets and further components, together with a design study for a high acceptance detector. Civil engineering and installation studies are presented for the accelerator and the detector. The LHeC can be built within a decade and thus be operated while the LHC runs in its high-luminosity phase. It thus represents a major opportunity for progress in particle physics exploiting the investment made in the LHC.

Single Production of Fourth Family Sneutrino via RPV Couplings at Linear Colliders

The single production of fourth family sneutrino $\tildeν_{4}$ via R-parity violating interactions in electron-positron collisions has been investigated. We study the decays of $\tildeν_{4}$ into different flavor dilepton $e^{\pm}μ^{\mp}$ via R-parity violation. It is shown that R-parity violating couplings $(λ_{411},λ_{412})$ down to 0.001 will be reachable at future linear colliders which would provide better accuracy comparing to the indirect measurements as complementary to the LHC results.

Anomalous single production of fourth family up type quark associated with neutral gauge bosons at the LHC

From the present limits on the masses and mixings of fourth family quarks, they are expected to have mass larger than the top quark and allow a large range of mixing of the third family. They could also have different dynamics than the quarks of three families of the Standard Model. The single production of the fourth family up type quark t' has been studied via anomalous production process pp-> t'VX (where V=g,Z,γ) at the LHC with the center of mass energy of 7 and 14 TeV. The signatures of such process are discussed within both the SM decay modes and anomalous decay modes of t' quarks. The sensitivity to anomalous coupling kappa/Lambda=0.004 TeV^(-1) can be reached at sqrt(s)=14 TeV and L_(int)=100 pb^(-1).

Resonant production of the fourth family slepton at the LHC

The resonant production of the fourth family slepton ~l_4 via R-parity violating interactions of supersymmetry at the Large Hadron Collider has been investigated. We study the decay mode of ~l_4 into the fourth family neutrino nu_4 and W boson. The signal will be a like-sign dimuon and dijet if the fourth family neutrino has Majorana nature. We discuss the constraints on the R-parity violating couplings lambda and lambda' of the fourth family charged slepton at the LHC with the center of mass energies of 7, 10 and 14 TeV.

Search for Top Quark FCNC Couplings in Z' Models at the LHC and CLIC

The top quark is the heaviest particle to date discovered, with a mass close to the electroweak symmetry breaking scale. It is expected that the top quark would be sensitive to the new physics at the TeV scale. One of the most important aspects of the top quark physics can be the investigation of the possible anomalous couplings. Here, we study the top quark flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) couplings via the extra gauge boson Z' at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) energies. We calculate the total cross sections for the signal and the corresponding Standard Model (SM) background processes. For an FCNC mixing parameter x=0.2 and the sequential Z' mass of 1 TeV, we find the single top quark FCNC production cross sections 0.38(1.76) fb at the LHC with sqrt{s_{pp}}=7(14) TeV, respectively. For the resonance production of sequential Z' boson and decays to single top quark at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) energies, including the initial state radiation and beamstrahlung effects, we find the cross section 27.96(0.91) fb at sqrt{s_{e^{+}e^{-}}}=1(3) TeV, respectively. We make the analysis to investigate the parameter space (mixing-mass) through various Z' models. It is shown that the results benefit from the flavor tagging.

Anomalous resonant production of the fourth family up type quarks at the LHC

Considering the present limits on the masses of fourth family quarks from the Tevatron experiments, the fourth family quarks are expected to have mass larger than the top quark. Due to their expected large mass they could have different dynamics than the quarks of three families of the Standard Model. The resonant production of the fourth family up type quark t' has been studied via anomalous production subprocess gq_i-->t' (where q_i=u,c) at the LHC with the center of mass energy 10 TeV and 14 TeV. The signatures of such process are discussed within the SM decay modes. The sensitivity to anomalous coupling κ/Λ=0.1 TeV^(-1) can be reached at \sqrt{s}=10 TeV and L_int=100 pb^(-1).

Anomalous Single Top Production at the LHeC Based gamma p Collider

The top quark could provide very important information for the Standard Model extentions due to its large mass close to the electroweak symmetry breaking scale. In this work, anomalous single top production is studied by using gamma p-->W^{+}b process at the LHeC based gamma p collider. The sensitivity to anomalous coupling kappa/Lambda could be reached down to 0.01 TeV^{-1}.

Anomalous WW-gamma Vertex at LC+HERA Based gamma-p Collider

The potential of LC+HERA based gamma-p collider to probe WW-gamma vertex is presented through the discussion of sensitivity to anomalous couplings and p_{T} distribution of the final quark. The limits of -0.16<(kappa-1)<0.14, -0.30<lambda<0.30, at 95% C.L. can be reached with integrated luminosity 100pb^{-1} and they are competitive to projected future limits from other colliders. The results are compared with corresponding ep collider using Weizsacker-Williams Approximation.
