Higher Satisfaction, Lower Cost: A Technical Report on How LLMs Revolutionize Meituan's Intelligent Interaction Systems

Enhancing customer experience is essential for business success, particularly as service demands grow in scale and complexity. Generative artificial intelligence and Large Language Models (LLMs) have empowered intelligent interaction systems to deliver efficient, personalized, and 24/7 support. In practice, intelligent interaction systems encounter several challenges: (1) Constructing high-quality data for cold-start training is difficult, hindering self-evolution and raising labor costs. (2) Multi-turn dialogue performance remains suboptimal due to inadequate intent understanding, rule compliance, and solution extraction. (3) Frequent evolution of business rules affects system operability and transferability, constraining low-cost expansion and adaptability. (4) Reliance on a single LLM is insufficient in complex scenarios, where the absence of multi-agent frameworks and effective collaboration undermines process completeness and service quality. (5) The open-domain nature of multi-turn dialogues, lacking unified golden answers, hampers quantitative evaluation and continuous optimization. To address these challenges, we introduce WOWService, an intelligent interaction system tailored for industrial applications. With the integration of LLMs and multi-agent architectures, WOWService enables autonomous task management and collaborative problem-solving. Specifically, WOWService focuses on core modules including data construction, general capability enhancement, business scenario adaptation, multi-agent coordination, and automated evaluation. Currently, WOWService is deployed on the Meituan App, achieving significant gains in key metrics, e.g., User Satisfaction Metric 1 (USM 1) -27.53% and User Satisfaction Metric 2 (USM 2) +25.51%, demonstrating its effectiveness in capturing user needs and advancing personalized service.

Fractional structures on bundle gerbe modules and fractional classifying spaces

We study the homotopy aspects of the twisted Chern classes of torsion bundle gerbe modules. Using Sullivan's rational homotopy theory, we realize the twisted Chern classes at the level of classifying spaces. The construction suggests a notion, which we call fractional U-structure serving as a universal framework to study the twisted Chern classes of torsion bundle gerbe modules from the perspective of classifying spaces. Based on this, we introduce and study higher fractional structures on torsion bundle gerbe modules parallel to the higher structures on ordinary vector bundles.

Unconventional hysteretic transition in a charge density wave

Hysteresis underlies a large number of phase transitions in solids, giving rise to exotic metastable states that are otherwise inaccessible. Here, we report an unconventional hysteretic transition in a quasi-2D material, EuTe4. By combining transport, photoemission, diffraction, and x-ray absorption measurements, we observed that the hysteresis loop has a temperature width of more than 400 K, setting a record among crystalline solids. The transition has an origin distinct from known mechanisms, lying entirely within the incommensurate charge-density-wave (CDW) phase of EuTe4 with no change in the CDW modulation periodicity. We interpret the hysteresis as an unusual switching of the relative CDW phases in different layers, a phenomenon unique to quasi-2D compounds that is not present in either purely 2D or strongly-coupled 3D systems. Our findings challenge the established theories on metastable states in density wave systems, pushing the boundary of understanding hysteretic transitions in a broken-symmetry state.

Witten Genus and Elliptic genera for proper actions

In this paper, we construct for the first time, the Witten genus and elliptic genera on noncompact manifolds with a proper cocompact action by an almost connected Lie group and prove vanishing and rigidity results that generalise known results for compact group actions on compact manifolds. We also compute our genera for some interesting examples, and study the non-spinc case in an appendix.

Large nonreciprocal absorption and emission of radiation in type-I Weyl semimetals with time reversal symmetry breaking

The equality between the spectral, directional emittance and absorptance of an object under local thermal equilibrium is known as Kirchhoff's law of radiation. The breakdown of Kirchhoff's law of radiation is physically allowed by breaking time reversal symmetry and can open opportunities for nonreciprocal light emitters and absorbers. Large anomalous Hall conductivity and angle recently observed in topological Weyl semimetals, particularly type-I magnetic Weyl semimetals and type-II Weyl semimetals, are expected to create large nonreciprocal electromagnetic wave propagation. In this work, we focus on type-I magnetic Weyl semimetals and show via modeling and simulation that nonreciprocal surface plasmons polaritons can result in pronounced nonreciprocity without an external magnetic field. The modeling in this work begins with a single pair of Weyl nodes, followed by a more realistic model with multiple paired Weyl nodes. Fermi-arc surface states are also taken into account through the surface conductivity. This work points to the promising applicability of topological Weyl semimetals for magneto-optical and energy applications.

T-Duality, Jacobi Forms and Witten Gerbe Modules

In this paper, we extend the T-duality Hori maps in [arXiv:hep-th/0306062], inducing isomorphisms of twisted cohomologies on T-dual circle bundles, to graded Hori maps and show that they induce isomorphisms of two-variable series of twisted cohomologies on the T-dual circle bundles, preserving Jacobi form properties. The composition of the graded Hori map with its dual equals the Euler operator. We also construct Witten gerbe modules arising from gerbe modules and show that their graded twisted Chern characters are Jacobi forms under an anomaly vanishing condition on gerbe modules, thereby giving interesting examples.

Topological Singularity Induced Chiral Kohn Anomaly in a Weyl Semimetal

The electron-phonon interaction (EPI) is instrumental in a wide variety of phenomena in solid-state physics, such as electrical resistivity in metals, carrier mobility, optical transition and polaron effects in semiconductors, lifetime of hot carriers, transition temperature in BCS superconductors, and even spin relaxation in diamond nitrogen-vacancy centers for quantum information processing. However, due to the weak EPI strength, most phenomena have focused on electronic properties rather than on phonon properties. One prominent exception is the Kohn anomaly, where phonon softening can emerge when the phonon wavevector nests the Fermi surface of metals. Here we report a new class of Kohn anomaly in a topological Weyl semimetal (WSM), predicted by field-theoretical calculations, and experimentally observed through inelastic x-ray and neutron scattering on WSM tantalum phosphide (TaP). Compared to the conventional Kohn anomaly, the Fermi surface in a WSM exhibits multiple topological singularities of Weyl nodes, leading to a distinct nesting condition with chiral selection, a power-law divergence, and non-negligible dynamical effects. Our work brings the concept of Kohn anomaly into WSMs and sheds light on elucidating the EPI mechanism in emergent topological materials.

(CaO)(FeSe): A Layered Wide Gap Oxychalcogenide Semiconductor

A new iron-oxychalcogenide (CaO)(FeSe) was obtained which crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma (No. 62) with a = 5.9180(12) Å, b = 3.8802(8) Å, c = 13.193(3) Å. The unique structure of (CaO)(FeSe) is built up of a quasi-two-dimensional network of corrugated infinite layers of corner-shared FeSe2O2 tetrahedra that extend in the ab-plane. The corrugated layers composed of corner-shared FeSe2O2 tetrahedra stack along the c-axis with Ca2+ cations sandwiched between the layers. Optical spectroscopy and resistivity measurements reveal semiconducting behavior with an indirect optical band gap of around 1.8 eV and an activation energy of 0.19(1) eV. Electronic band structure calculations at the density function level predict a magnetic configuration as ground state and confirm the presence of an indirect wide gap in (CaO)(FeSe).

Enforcing Template Representability and Temporal Consistency for Adaptive Sparse Tracking

Sparse representation has been widely studied in visual tracking, which has shown promising tracking performance. Despite a lot of progress, the visual tracking problem is still a challenging task due to appearance variations over time. In this paper, we propose a novel sparse tracking algorithm that well addresses temporal appearance changes, by enforcing template representability and temporal consistency (TRAC). By modeling temporal consistency, our algorithm addresses the issue of drifting away from a tracking target. By exploring the templates' long-term-short-term representability, the proposed method adaptively updates the dictionary using the most descriptive templates, which significantly improves the robustness to target appearance changes. We compare our TRAC algorithm against the state-of-the-art approaches on 12 challenging benchmark image sequences. Both qualitative and quantitative results demonstrate that our algorithm significantly outperforms previous state-of-the-art trackers.

La1-xBi1+xS3 (x~0.08): An n-Type Semiconductor

The new bismuth chalcogenide La0.92Bi1.08S3 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/m with a = 28.0447(19) Å, b = 4.0722(2) Å, c = 14.7350(9) Å, and $β$ = 118.493(5)°. The structure of La0.92Bi1.08S3 is built up of NaCl-type Bi2S5 blocks, and BiS4 and LaS5 infinitely long chains forming a compact three-dimensional framework with parallel tunnels. Optical spectroscopy and resistivity measurements reveal a semiconducting behavior with a band gap of ~ 1 eV and activation energy for transport of 0.36(1) eV. Thermopower measurements suggest the majority carriers of La0.92Bi1.08S3 are electrons. Heat capacity measurements indicate no phase transitions from 2 to 300 K. Band structure calculations at the density functional theory level confirm the semiconducting nature and the indirect gap of La0.92Bi1.08S3.

Self-Reflective Risk-Aware Artificial Cognitive Modeling for Robot Response to Human Behaviors

In order for cooperative robots ("co-robots") to respond to human behaviors accurately and efficiently in human-robot collaboration, interpretation of human actions, awareness of new situations, and appropriate decision making are all crucial abilities for co-robots. For this purpose, the human behaviors should be interpreted by co-robots in the same manner as human peers. To address this issue, a novel interpretability indicator is introduced so that robot actions are appropriate to the current human behaviors. In addition, the complete consideration of all potential situations of a robot's environment is nearly impossible in real-world applications, making it difficult for the co-robot to act appropriately and safely in new scenarios. This is true even when the pretrained model is highly accurate in a known situation. For effective and safe teaming with humans, we introduce a new generalizability indicator that allows a co-robot to self-reflect and reason about when an observation falls outside the co-robot's learned model. Based on topic modeling and two novel indicators, we propose a new Self-reflective Risk-aware Artificial Cognitive (SRAC) model. The co-robots are able to consider action risks and identify new situations so that better decisions can be made. Experiments both using real-world datasets and on physical robots suggest that our SRAC model significantly outperforms the traditional methodology and enables better decision making in response to human activities.

Exotic twisted equivariant cohomology of loop spaces, twisted Bismut-Chern character and T-duality

We define exotic twisted $S^1$-equivariant cohomology for the loop space $LZ$ of a smooth manifold $Z$ via the invariant differential forms on $LZ$ with coefficients in the (typically non-flat) holonomy line bundle of a gerbe, with differential an equivariantly flat superconnection. We introduce the twisted Bismut-Chern character form, a loop space refinement of the twisted Chern character form, which represent classes in the completed periodic exotic twisted $S^1$-equivariant cohomology of $LZ$. We establish a localisation theorem for the completed periodic exotic twisted $S^1$-equivariant cohomology for loop spaces and apply it to establish T-duality in a background flux in type II String Theory from a loop space perspective.

On the Witten Rigidity Theorem for Odd Dimensional Manifolds

We establish several Witten type rigidity and vanishing theorems for twisted Toeplitz operators on odd dimensional manifolds. We obtain our results by combining the modular method, modular transgression and some careful analysis of odd Chern classes for cocycles in odd $K$-theory. Moreover we discover that in odd dimensions, the fundamental group of manifolds plays an important role in the rigidity.

Structural and magnetic phase transitions near optimal superconductivity in BaFe$_2$(As$_{1-x}$P$_x$)$_2$

We use nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), high-resolution x-ray and neutron scattering to study structural and magnetic phase transitions in phosphorus-doped BaFe$_2$(As$_{1-x}$P$_x$)$_2$. Previous transport, NMR, specific heat, and magnetic penetration depth measurements have provided compelling evidence for the presence of a quantum critical point (QCP) near optimal superconductivity at $x=0.3$. However, we show that the tetragonal-to-orthorhombic structural ($T_s$) and paramagnetic to antiferromagnetic (AF, $T_N$) transitions in BaFe$_2$(As$_{1-x}$P$_x$)$_2$ are always coupled and approach to $T_N\approx T_s \ge T_c$ ($\approx 29$ K) for $x=0.29$ before vanishing abruptly for $x\ge 0.3$. These results suggest that AF order in BaFe$_2$(As$_{1-x}$P$_x$)$_2$ disappears in a weakly first order fashion near optimal superconductivity, much like the electron-doped iron pnictides with an avoided QCP.

$η$-invariant and Modular Forms

We show that the Atiyah-Patodi-Singer reduced $η$-invariant of the twisted Dirac operator on a closed $4m-1$ dimensional spin manifold, with the twisted bundle being the Witten bundle appearing in the theory of elliptic genus, is a meromorphic modular form of weight $2m$ up to an integral $q$-series. We prove this result by combining our construction of certain modular characteristic forms associated to a generalized Witten bundle on spin$^c$-manifolds with a deep topological theorem due to Hopkins.

Magnetism and superconductivity in Sr$_2$VFeAsO$_3$ revealed by $^{75}$As- and $^{51}$V-NMR under elevated pressures

We report $^{75}$As- and $^{51}$V-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on the iron-based superconductor Sr$_2$VFeAsO$_3$ with alternating stacks structure. We find that the $^{75}$As nuclear spin-spin relaxation rate ($1/T_2$) shows a pronounced peak at $T_N$ = 165 K, below which the resonance peak shifts to a higher frequency due to the onset of an internal magnetic field. The $^{51}$V spectrum does not shift, but is broadened below $T_N$. We conclude that the Fe electrons oder antiferromagnetically below $T_N$ with a magnetic moment $m_{Fe}$ $\sim$ 0.4 $μ_B$. Application of external pressure up to 2.4 GPa reduces $T_N$ in a rate of $-$40 K/GPa, and enhances the superconducting transition temperature $T_c$ in a rate of 2 K/GPa. The pressure-temperature phase diagram for Sr$_2$VFeAsO$_3$ shows that superconductivity coexists with antiferromagnetism over a wide pressure range with an unprecedented high $T_c$ up to 36.5 K.

A Field-directional Specific Heat Study on the Gap Structure of Overdoped Ba(Fe$_{1-x}$Co$_{x}$)$_{2}$As$_{2}$

Low-temperature specific heat is measured on the overdoped Ba(Fe_{1-x}Co_x)_2As_2 (x = 0.13) single crystal under magnetic fields along three different directions. A clear anisotropy is observed on the field dependent electronic specific heat coefficient γ(H). The value of γ(H) is obviously larger with magnetic field along [001] (c-axis) than that within the ab-plane of the crystal lattice, which cannot be attributed to the effect by anisotropy of the upper critical field. Meanwhile, the data show a rather small difference when the direction of the field is rotated from [100] to [110] direction within the ab-plane. Our results suggest that a considerable part of the line nodes is not excited to contribute to the quasiparticle density of states by the field when the field is within the ab-plane. The constraints on the topology of the gap nodes are discussed based on our observations.

Doping effect of Cu and Ni impurities on the Fe-based superconductor Ba0.6K0.4Fe2As2

Copper and Nickel impurities have been doped into the iron pnictide superconductor Ba0.6K0.4Fe2As2. Resistivity measurements reveal that Cu and Ni impurities suppress superconducting transition temperature T_c with rates of ΔT_c/Cu-1% = -3.5 K and ΔT_c/Ni-1% = -2.9 K respectively. Temperature dependence of Hall coefficient R_H of these two series of samples show that both Cu-doping and Ni-doping can introduce electrons into Ba0.6K0.4Fe2As2. With more doping, the sign of R_H gradually changes from positive to negative, while the changing rate of Cu-doped samples is much faster than that of Ni-doped ones. Combining with the results of first-principles calculations published previously and the non-monotonic evolution of the Hall coefficient in the low temperature region, we argue that when more Cu impurities were introduced into Ba0.6K0.4Fe2As2, the removal of Fermi spectral weight in the hole-like Fermi surfaces is much stronger than that in the electron-like Fermi surfaces, which is equivalent to significant electron doping effect. DC magnetization and the lattice constants analysis reveal that static magnetic moments and notable lattice compression have been formed in Cu-doped samples. It seems that the superconductivity can be suppressed by the impurities disregard whether they are magnetic or nonmagnetic in nature. This gives strong support to a pairing gap with a sign reversal, like S^\pm. However, the relatively slow suppression rates of T_c show the robustness of superconductivity of Ba0.6K0.4Fe2As2 against impurities, implying that multi-pairing channels may exist in the system.

Anomaly Cancellation and Modularity

It has been shown that the Alvarez-Gaum$\mathrm{\acute{e}}$-Witten miraculous anomaly cancellation formula in type IIB superstring theory and its various generalizations can be derived from modularity of certain characteristic forms. In this paper, we show that the Green-Schwarz formula and the Schwarz-Witten formula in type I superstring theory can also be derived from the modularity of those characteristic forms and thus unify the Alvarez-Gaum$\mathrm{\acute{e}}$-Witten formula, the Green-Schwarz formula as well as the Schwarz-Witten formula in the same framework. Various generalizations of these remarkable formulas are also established.

Anomaly Cancellation and Modularity. II: $E_8\times E_8$ case

In this paper we show that both of the Green-Schwarz anomaly factorization formula for the gauge group $E_8\times E_8$ and the Hořava-Witten anomaly factorization formula for the gauge group $E_8$ can be derived through modular forms of weight 14. This answers a question of J. H. Schwarz. We also establish generalizations of these factorization formulas and obtain a new Hořava-Witten type factorization formula.

BaFe2Se2O as an Iron-Based Mott Insulator with Antiferromagnetic Order

A new compound with a quasi-two-dimensional array of FeSe3O tetrahedra and an orthorombic structure, namely BaFe2Se2O, has been successfully fabricated. Experimental results show that this compound is an insulator and has an antiferromagnetic (AF) transition at 240 K. Band structure calculation reveals the narrowing of Fe 3d bands near the Fermi energy, which leads to the localization of magnetism and the Mott insulating behavior. The large distances between the Fe atoms perhaps are responsible for the characters. Linear response calculation further indicates a strong in-plane AF exchange $J$, this can account for the enhanced magnetic susceptibility (which has a maximum at about 450 K) above the Neel temperature.

Anomalous Properties in the Normal and Superconducting States of LaRu$_3$Si$_2$

Superconductivity in LaRu$_3$Si$_2$ with the honeycomb structure of Ru atoms has been investigated. It is found that the normal state specific heat C/T exhibits a deviation from the Debye model down to the lowest temperature. A relation $C/T = γ_n+βT^2-ATlnT$ which concerns the electron correlations can fit the data very well. The suppression to the superconductivity by the magnetic field is not the mean-field like, which is associated well with the observation of strong superconducting fluctuations. The field dependence of the induced quasiparticle density of states measured by the low temperature specific heat shows a non-linear feature, indicating the significant contributions given by the delocalized quasiparticles.

Direct observation of the influence of the FeAs4 tetrahedron on superconductivity and antiferromagnetic correlations in Sr2VO3FeAs

We measure the pressure dependence of the electrical resistivity and the crystal structure of iron superconductor Sr2VO3FeAs. Below ~10 GPa the structure compresses but remains undeformed, with regular FeAs4 tetrahedrons, and a constant Tc. Beyond 10GPa, the tetrahedron strongly distorts, while Tc goes gradually to zero. Band structure calculations of the undistorted structure show multiple nesting features that hinder the development of an antiferromagnetic ground state (AF), allowing the appearance of superconductivity. The deformation of the tetrahedra that breaks band degeneracy degrades multiple nesting, thus favouring one particular AF state at the expense of Tc.

Reversibly tuning the insulating and superconducting state in KxFe2-ySe2 crystals by post-annealing

Since the discovery of superconductivity at 26 K in oxy-pnictide LaFeAsO1-xFx, enormous interests have been stimulated in the field of condensed matter physics and material sciences. Among the many kind of structures in the iron pnictide superconductors, FeSe with the PbO structure has received special attention since there is not poisonous pnictogen element in chemical composition and its structure is the simplest one. However, the superconducting transition temperature (Tc) in iron chalcogenide compounds is not enhanced as high as other iron pnictide superconductors under ambient pressure until the superconductivity at above 30 K in potassium intercalated iron selenide KxFe2-ySe2 was discovered. The insulating and the superconducting state are both observed in KxFe2-ySe2 with different stoichiometries and some groups have tuned the system from insulating to superconducting state by varying the ratio of starting materials[10, 11]. The recent data from neutron scattering suggest that the superconductivity may be built upon an ordered state of Fe vacancies as well as the antiferromagnetic state with a very strong ordered magnetic moment 3.4 B. Here we show that the superconductivity can actually be tuned on a single sample directly from an insulating state by post-annealing and fast quenching. Upon waiting for some days at room temperatures, the superconductivity will disappear and the resistivity exhibits an insulating behavior again. The spatial distribution of the compositions of the as-grown sample and the post-annealed-quenched one was analyzed by the Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrum (EDXS) and found to be very close to each other. Therefore it is tempting to conclude that the superconductivity is achieved when the Fe-vacancies are in a random (disordered) state. Once they arrange in an ordered state by relaxation or slow cooling, the system turns out to be an insulator.

Transport properties and anisotropy of Rb0.8Fe2Se2 single crystals

Single crystals of Rb{0.8}Fe2Se2 are successfully synthesized with the superconducting transition temperatures T_c{onset}= 31 K and T_c{zero}= 28 K. A clear anomaly of resistivity was observed in the normal state at about 150 K, as found in a similar system KxFe2Se2. The upper critical field has been determined with the magnetic field along ab-plane and c-axis, yielding an anisotropy of about 3.5. The angle dependent resistivity measured below T_c allow a perfect scaling feature based on the anisotropic Ginzburg-Landau theory, leading to a consistent value of the anisotropy which decreases from about 3.6 at around T_c to 2.9 at 27 K. Comparing to the anisotropy determined for Ba0.6K0.4Fe2As2 and Ba(Fe0.92Co0.08)2As2 using the same method, we find that the present sample is more anisotropic and the Fermi surfaces with stronger two dimensional characters are expected.

Transport properties and asymmetric scattering in Ba$_{1-x}$K$_x$Fe$_2$As$_2$ single crystals compared to the electron doped counterparts Ba(Fe$_{1-x}$Co$_{x}$)$_{2}$As$_{2}$}

Resistivity, Hall effect and magnetoresistance have been investigated systematically on single crystals of Ba$_{1-x}$K$_x$Fe$_2$As$_2$ ranging from undoped to optimally doped regions. A systematic evolution of the quasiparticle scattering has been observed. It is found that the resistivity in the normal state of Ba$_{1-x}$K$_x$Fe$_2$As$_2$ is insensitive to the potassium doping concentration, which is very different from the electron doped counterpart Ba(Fe$_{1-x}$Co$_{x}$)$_{2}$As$_{2}$, where the resistivity at 300 K reduces to half value of the undoped one when the system is optimally doped. In stark contrast, the Hall coefficient R$_H$ changes suddenly from a negative value in the undoped sample to a positive one with slight K-doping, and it keeps lowering with further doping. We interpret this dichotomy due to the asymmetric scattering rate in the hole and the electron pockets with much higher mobility of the latter. The magnetoresistivity shows also a non-monotonic doping dependence indicating an anomalous feature at about 80 K to 100 K, even in the optimally doped sample, which is associated with a possible pseudogap feature. In the low temperature region, it seems that the resistivity has the similar values when superconductivity sets in disregarding the different T$_c$ values, which indicates a novel mechanism of the superconductivity. A linear feature of resistivity $ρ_{ab}$ vs. $T$ was observed just above $T_c$ for the optimally doped sample, suggesting a quantum criticality.

Generalized Witten Genus and Vanishing Theorems

We construct a generalized Witten genus for spin$^c$ manifolds, which takes values in level 1 modular forms with integral Fourier expansion on a class of spin$^c$ manifolds called string$^c$ manifolds. We also construct a mod 2 analogue of the Witten genus for $8k+2$ dimensional spin manifolds. The Landweber-Stong type vanishing theorems are proven for the generalized Witten genus and the mod 2 Witten genus on string$^c$ and string (generalized) complete intersections in (product of) complex projective spaces respectively.

In dimension $4k+1$, we derive anomaly cancellation formulas for index gerbes. In dimension $4k+3$, we obtain certain results about eta invariants, which are interesting in spectral geometry.

Static magnetic order of Sr$_{4}$A$_{2}$O$_{6}$Fe$_{2}$As$_{2}$ (A = Sc and V) revealed by local probes

Static magnetic order of quasi two-dimensional FeAs compounds Sr4A2O6-xFe2As2, with A = Sc and V, has been detected by 57Fe Moessbauer and muon spin relaxation (μSR) spectroscopies. The non-superconducting stoichiometric (x = 0) A = Sc system exhibits a static internal/hyperfine magnetic field both at the 57Fe and μ+ sites, indicating antiferromagnetic order of Fe moments below TN = 35 K with ~ 0.1 Bohr magneton per Fe at T = 2 K. The superconducting and oxygen deficient (x = 0.4) A = V system exhibits a static internal field only at the μ+ site below TN ~ 40 K, indicating static magnetic order of V moments co-existing with superconductivity without freezing of Fe moments. These results suggest that the 42622 FeAs systems belong to the same paradigm with the 1111 and 122 FeAs systems with respect to magnetic behavior of Fe moments.

Superconductivity induced by doping Platinum in BaFe2As2

By substituting Fe with the 5d-transition metal Pt in BaFe2As2, we have successfully synthesized the superconductors BaFe2-xPtxAs2. The systematic evolution of the lattice constants indicates that the Fe ions were successfully replaced by Pt ions. By increasing the doping content of Pt, the antiferromagnetic order and structural transition of the parent phase is suppressed and superconductivity emerges at a doping level of about x = 0.02. At a doping level of x = 0.1, we get a maximum transition temperature Tc of about 25 K. The synchrotron powder x-ray diffraction shows that the resistivity anomaly is in good agreement with the structural transition. The superconducting transitions at different magnetic fields were also measured at the doping level of about x = 0.1, yielding a slope of -dHc2/dT = 5.4 T/K near Tc. A phase diagram was established for the Pt doped 122 system. Our results suggest that superconductivity can also be easily induced in the FeAs family by substituting the Fe with Pt, with almost the similar maximum transition temperatures as doping Ni, Co, Rh and Ir.

Structural and transport properties of Sr2VO{3-delta}FeAs superconductors with different oxygen deficiencies

Sr2VO{3-delta}FeAs superconductors with different oxygen deficiencies have been successfully fabricated. It is found that the superconducting transition temperature drops down monotonically with the increase of oxygen deficiency. The diminishing of superconductivity is accompanied by the enhancement of residual resistivity, indicating an unraveled scattering effect induced by the oxygen deficiency. The highest superconducting transition temperature at about 40 K is achieved near the stoichiometrical sample Sr$_2$VO$_{3}$FeAs. Surprisingly, the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) shows that the vanadium has a "5+" valence state in the samples. The Hall effect measurements reveal that the density of charge carriers (electron-like here) varies qualitatively with the increase of oxygen deficiency. Magnetotransport measurements show that the superconducting transition changes from one-step-like shape at low fields to two-step-like one at high fields, indicating a high anisotropy.

Superconductivity and phase diagrams in 4d- and 5d-metal-doped iron arsenides SrFe_{2-x}M_xAs_2 (M = Rh, Ir, Pd)

By substituting the Fe with the 4d and 5d-transition metals Rh, Ir and Pd in SrFe_2As_2, we have successfully synthesized a series of superconductors SrFe_{2-x}M_xAs_2 (M = Rh, Ir and Pd) and explored the phase diagrams of them. The systematic evolution of the lattice constants indicated that part of the Fe ions were successfully replaced by the transition metals Rh, Ir and Pd. By increasing the doping content of Rh, Ir and Pd, the antiferromagnetic state of the parent phase is suppressed progressively and superconductivity is induced. The general phase diagrams were obtained and found to be similar to the case of doping Co and Ni to the Fe sites. However, the detailed structure of the phase diagram, in terms of how fast to suppress the antiferromagnetic order and induce the superconductivity, varies from one kind of doped element to another. Regarding the close values of the maximum superconducting transition temperatures in doping Co, Rh and Ir which locate actually in the same column in the periodic table of elements but have very different masses, we argue that the superconductivity is intimately related to the suppression of the AF order, rather than the electron-phonon coupling.

Superconductivity at 15.6 K in Calcium-doped Tb_{1-x}Ca_xFeAsO: the structure requirement for achieving superconductivity in the hole-doped 1111 phase

Superconductivity at about 15.6 K was achieved in Tb_{1-x}Ca_xFeAsO by partially substituting Tb^{3+} with Ca^{2+} in the nominal doping region x = 0.40 \sim 0.50. A detailed investigation was carried out in a typical sample with doping level of x = 0.44. The upper critical field of this sample was estimated to be 77 Tesla from the magnetic field dependent resistivity data. The domination of hole-like charge carriers in the low-temperature region was confirmed by Hall effect measurements. The comparison between the calcium-doped sample Pr_{1-x}Ca_xFeAsO (non-superconductive) and the Strontium-doped sample Pr_{1-x}Sr_xFeAsO (superconductive) suggests that a lager ion radius of the doped alkaline-earth element compared with that of the rare-earth element may be a necessary requirement for achieving superconductivity in the hole-doped 1111 phase.

By substituting the Fe with the 5d-transition metal Ir in SrFe2As2, we have successfully synthesized the superconductor SrFe2-xIrxAs2 with Tc = 22.3 K at x = 0.5. X-ray diffraction indicates that the material has formed the ThCr2Si2-type structure with a space group I4/mmm. The temperature dependence of resistivity and dc magnetization both reveal sharp superconducting transitions at around 22 K. An estimate on the diamagnetization signal reveals a high Meissner shielding volume. Interestingly, the normal state resistivity exhibits a roughly linear behavior up to 300 K. The superconducting transitions at different magnetic fields were also measured yielding a slope of -dHc2/dT = 3.8 T/K near Tc. Using the Werthamer-Helfand-Hohenberg (WHH) formula, the upper critical field at zero K is found to be about 58 T. Counting the possible number of electrons doped into the system in SrFe2-xIrxAs2, we argue that the superconductivity in the Ir-doped system is different from the Co-doped case, which should add more ingredients to the underlying physics of the iron pnictide superconductors.

Superconductivity in Ti-doped Iron-Arsenide Compound Sr4Cr0.8Ti1.2O6Fe2As2

Superconductivity was achieved in Ti-doped iron-arsenide compound Sr4Cr0.8Ti1.2O6Fe2As2 (abbreviated as Cr-FeAs-42622). The x-ray diffraction measurement shows that this material has a layered structure with the space group of \emph{P4/nmm}, and with the lattice constants a = b = 3.9003 A and c = 15.8376 A. Clear diamagnetic signals in ac susceptibility data and zero-resistance in resistivity data were detected at about 6 K, confirming the occurrence of bulk superconductivity. Meanwhile we observed a superconducting transition in the resistive data with the onset transition temperature at 29.2 K, which may be induced by the nonuniform distribution of the Cr/Ti content in the FeAs-42622 phase, or due to some other minority phase.

Tailoring the Superconductivity and Antiferromagnetic Order in SrFe2-xRhxAs2

By doping Rh to the Fe sites in SrFe2As2, superconductivity is induced when the antiferromagnetic (AF) order is suppressed. The maximum superconducting transition temperature was found at about 22 K with the doping level of x = 0.25. It is found that the resistivity anomaly associating with the AF order reveals a sharp drop for the parent phase and the samples with low doping (x = 0.05), while it evolves into an uprising at a higher doping level (x = 0.1). A general phase diagram is depicted which exhibits the similarity with that of Co doping. Regarding the close maximum superconducting transition temperatures in doping Co, Rh and Ir, we argue that the superconductivity is intimately related to the suppression of the AF order, rather than the electron-phonon coupling.

Transition of stoichiometricSr2VO3FeAs to a superconducting state at 37.2 K

The superconductor Sr4V2O6Fe2As2 with transition temperature at 37.2 K has been fabricated. It has a layered structure with the space group of p4/nmm, and with the lattice constants a = 3.9296Aand c = 15.6732A. The observed large diamagnetization signal and zero-resistance demonstrated the bulk superconductivity. The broadening of resistive transition was measured under different magnetic fields leading to the discovery of a rather high upper critical field. The results also suggest a large vortex liquid region which reflects high anisotropy of the system. The Hall effect measurements revealed dominantly electron-like charge carriers in this material. The superconductivity in the present system may be induced by oxygen deficiency or the multiple valence states of vanadium.
