Primitive decompositions of idempotents of the group algebras of dihedral groups and generalized quaternion groups

In this paper, we introduce a method computing the primitive decomposition of idempotents of any semisimple finite group algebra based on its matrix representations and Wedderburn decomposition. Particularly, we use this method to calculate the examples of the dihedral group algebras $\mathbb{C}[D_{2n}]$ and generalized quaternion group algebras $\mathbb{C}[Q_{4m}]$. Inspired by the orthogonality relations of the character tables of these two families of groups, we obtain two sets of trigonometric identities. Furthermore, a group algebra isomorphism between $\mathbb{C}[D_{8}]$ and $\mathbb{C}[Q_{8}]$ is described, under which the two complete sets of primitive orthogonal idempotents of these two group algebras we find correspond to each other bijectively.

XAI Beyond Classification: Interpretable Neural Clustering

In this paper, we study two challenging problems in explainable AI (XAI) and data clustering. The first is how to directly design a neural network with inherent interpretability, rather than giving post-hoc explanations of a black-box model. The second is implementing discrete $k$-means with a differentiable neural network that embraces the advantages of parallel computing, online clustering, and clustering-favorable representation learning. To address these two challenges, we design a novel neural network, which is a differentiable reformulation of the vanilla $k$-means, called inTerpretable nEuraL cLustering (TELL). Our contributions are threefold. First, to the best of our knowledge, most existing XAI works focus on supervised learning paradigms. This work is one of the few XAI studies on unsupervised learning, in particular, data clustering. Second, TELL is an interpretable, or the so-called intrinsically explainable and transparent model. In contrast, most existing XAI studies resort to various means for understanding a black-box model with post-hoc explanations. Third, from the view of data clustering, TELL possesses many properties highly desired by $k$-means, including but not limited to online clustering, plug-and-play module, parallel computing, and provable convergence. Extensive experiments show that our method achieves superior performance comparing with 14 clustering approaches on three challenging data sets. Representation theory of 0-Hecke-Clifford algebras

The representation theory of 0-Hecke-Clifford algebras as a degenerate case is not semisimple and also with rich combinatorial meaning. Bergeron et al. have proved that the Grothendieck ring of the category of finitely generated supermodules of 0-Hecke-Clifford algebras is isomorphic to the algebra of peak quasisymmetric functions defined by Stembridge. In this paper we further study the category of finitely generated projective supermodules and clarify the correspondence between it and the peak algebra of symmetric groups. In particular, two kinds of restriction rules for induced projective supermodules are obtained. After that, we consider the corresponding Heisenberg double and its Fock representation to prove that the ring of peak quasisymmetric functions is free over the subring of symmetric functions spanned by Schur's Q-functions.

Multi-parameter Quantum Groups via Quantum Quasi-Symmetric Algebras

It is proved that the entire multi-parameter (small-)quantum groups of symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebras can be realized as certain subquotients of the cotensor Hopf algebras. This is an axiomatic construction. Hopf 2-cocycle deformations variation for the construction machinery is described, moreover, the integrable irreducible modules can be constructed using this setting, even available for those in the fundamental alcove at root of unity case.

q-symmetric functions and q-quasisymmetric functions

In this paper, we construct the q-analogue of Poirier-Reutenauer algebras, related deeply with other q-combinatorial Hopf algebras. As an application, we use them to realize the odd Schur functions defined in \cite{EK}, and naturally obtain the odd Littlewood-Richardson rule concerned in \cite{Ell}. Moreover, we construct the refinement of the odd Schur functions, called odd quasisymmetric Schur functions, parallel to the consideration in \cite{HLMW1}. All the q-Hopf algebras we discuss here provide the corresponding q-dual graded graphs in the sense of \cite{BLL}.
