Deep-ultraviolet ptychographic pocket-scope (DART): mesoscale lensless molecular imaging with label-free spectroscopic contrast

The mesoscale characterization of biological specimens has traditionally required compromises between resolution, field-of-view, depth-of-field, and molecular specificity, with most approaches relying on external labels. Here we present the Deep-ultrAviolet ptychogRaphic pockeT-scope (DART), a handheld platform that transforms label-free molecular imaging through intrinsic deep-ultraviolet spectroscopic contrast. By leveraging biomolecules' natural absorption fingerprints and combining them with lensless ptychographic microscopy, DART resolves down to 308-nm linewidths across centimeter-scale areas while maintaining millimeter-scale depth-of-field. The system's virtual error-bin methodology effectively eliminates artifacts from limited temporal coherence and other optical imperfections, enabling high-fidelity molecular imaging without lenses. Through differential spectroscopic imaging at deep-ultraviolet wavelengths, DART quantitatively maps nucleic acid and protein distributions with femtogram sensitivity, providing an intrinsic basis for explainable virtual staining. We demonstrate DART's capabilities through molecular imaging of tissue sections, cytopathology specimens, blood cells, and neural populations, revealing detailed molecular contrast without external labels. The combination of high-resolution molecular mapping and broad mesoscale imaging in a portable platform opens new possibilities from rapid clinical diagnostics, tissue analysis, to biological characterization in space exploration.

Mining Function Homology of Bot Loaders from Honeypot Logs

Self-contained loaders are widely adopted in botnets for injecting loading commands and spawning new bots. While researchers can dissect bot clients to get various information of botnets, the cloud-based and self-contained design of loaders effectively hinders researchers from understanding the loaders' evolution and variation using classic methods. The decoupled nature of bot loaders also dramatically reduces the feasibility of investigating relationships among clients and infrastructures. In this paper, we propose a text-based method to investigate and analyze details of bot loaders using honeypots. We leverage high interaction honeypots to collect request logs and define eight families of bot loaders based on the result of agglomerative clustering. At the function level, we push our study further to explore their homological relationship based on similarity analysis of request logs using sequence aligning techniques. This further exploration discloses that the released code of Mirai keeps spawning new generations of botnets both on the client and the server side. This paper uncovers the homology of active botnet infrastructures, providing a new prospect on finding covert relationships among cybercrimes. Bot loaders are precisely investigated at the function level to yield a new insight for researchers to identify the botnet's infrastructures and track their evolution over time.

Nonflow contribution to Dihadron Azimuthal Correlations in 200 GeV/c Au+Au Collisions

Dihadron azimuthal correlations in 200 GeV/c Au+Au have been simulated by a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model. Contribution from jet-medium interaction to correlation function is obtained by subtracting the combined harmonic flow background from the raw dihadron correlation function. Signals in centralities of 0-10%, 20-40% and 50-80% are compared in three associated transverse momentum ($p_{T}^{assoc}$) bins: 0.2-0.8 GeV/c, 0.8-1.4 GeV/c and 1.4-2.0 GeV/c. An obvious medium modification impact can be seen from the signal shape change and relative jet contribution in the above events, which shows different behaviors between central and peripheral events, and among different $p_{T}^{assoc}$ ranges in central events. More detailed $p_{T}^{assoc}$ dependence of the derived nonflow contribution is studied in central 0-10% events, in which a strong $p_{T}^{assoc}$ dependence of RMS width is observed. We also calculated that relative jet contributions in peripheral and central collisions in the above mentioned cases.
