DoGMaTiQ: Automated Generation of Question-and-Answer Nuggets for Report Evaluation

Evaluation of long-form, citation-backed reports has lately received significant attention due to the wide-scale adoption of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems. Core to many evaluation frameworks is the use of atomic facts, or nuggets, to assess a report's coverage of query-relevant information attested in the underlying collection. While nuggets have traditionally been represented as short statements, recent work has used question-answer (QA) representations, enabling fine-grained evaluations that decouple the information need (i.e. the question) from the potentially diverse content that satisfies it (i.e. its answers). A persistent challenge for nugget-based evaluation is the need to manually curate sets of nuggets for each topic in a test collection -- a laborious process that scales poorly to novel information needs. This challenge is acute in cross-lingual settings, where information is found in multilingual source documents. Accordingly, we introduce DoGMaTiQ, a pipeline for generating high-quality QA-based nugget sets in three stages: (1) document-grounded nugget generation, (2) paraphrase clustering, and (3) nugget subselection based on principled quality criteria. We integrate DoGMaTiQ nuggets with AutoArgue -- a recent nugget-based evaluation framework -- to enable fully automatic evaluation of generated reports. We conduct extensive experiments on two cross-lingual TREC shared tasks, NeuCLIR and RAGTIME, showing strong rank correlations with both human-in-the-loop and fully manual judgments. Finally, detailed analysis of our pipeline reveals that a strong LLM nugget generator is key, and that the system rankings induced by DoGMaTiQ are robust to outlier systems. TRACE: Tourism Recommendation with Accountable Citation Evidence

Tourism is a high-stakes setting for conversational recommender systems (CRS): a plausible-sounding suggestion can waste real money and trip time once a traveler acts on it. Existing CRS benchmarks primarily evaluate systems with a single Recall@k score over entity mentions, and tourism-specific resources add spatial or knowledge-graph context, yet none of them couple multi-turn recommendation with verbatim review-span evidence and rejection recovery. This leaves an evaluation gap for tourism recommendation that is simultaneously trustworthy, verifiable, and adaptive: recommend the right point of interest (POI) for multi-aspect preferences (such as cuisine, price, atmosphere, walking distance), justify each suggestion with verifiable evidence from prior visitors so the traveler can act without trial and error, and recover when the first recommendation is rejected mid-dialogue. We introduce TRACE, where each item is a multi-turn tourism recommendation dialogue with review-span citations and explicit rejection turns: 10,000 dialogues over 2,400 Yelp POIs and 34,208 reviews across eight U.S. cities, paired with 14 retrieval, planning, and LLM baselines, along with 25 metrics organized under Accuracy, Grounding, and Recovery. Across these baselines, TRACE reveals the Three-Competency Gap: LLM Zero-Shot leads in closed-set Recall@1 and rejection recovery but cites less densely than retrievers; non-LLM retrievers achieve surface-verbatim grounding but with low accuracy; Multi-Review Synthesis fails at recovery. The Grounding Score agrees with human citation precision (Spearman rho=+0.80, p<10^-20), and paired t-tests reproduce the per-baseline ranking (p<0.01 on the dominant contrasts). TRACE reframes accountable tourism recommendation as a joint target (right POI, verifiable evidence, adaptive repair) rather than a single-axis leaderboard.

META-CODE: Community Detection via Exploratory Learning in Topologically Unknown Networks

The discovery of community structures in social networks has gained considerable attention as a fundamental problem for various network analysis tasks. However, due to privacy concerns or access restrictions, the network structure is often unknown, thereby rendering established community detection approaches ineffective without costly data acquisition. To tackle this challenge, we present META-CODE, a novel end-to-end solution for detecting overlapping communities in networks with unknown topology via exploratory learning aided by easy-to-collect node metadata. Specifically, META-CODE consists of three steps: 1) initial network inference, 2) node-level community-affiliation embedding based on graph neural networks (GNNs) trained by our new reconstruction loss, and 3) network exploration via community-affiliation-based node queries, where Steps 2 and 3 are performed iteratively. Experimental results demonstrate that META-CODE exhibits (a) superiority over benchmark methods for overlapping community detection, (b) the effectiveness of our training model, and (c) fast network exploration.

Phase Transitions and Superconductivity in Ternary Hydride Li$_2$SiH$_6$ at High Pressures

We predicted a new ternary hydride Li$_2$SiH$_6$ at high pressures. A systematic structure search in Li$_2$SiH$_6$ compound reveals novel stable phases with intriguing electronic and phonon properties. It is found that Li$_2$SiH$_6$ is dynamically stable from ambient pressure up to 400 GPa with three novel phases: P312, P$\bar{3}$, and P$\bar{6}$2m. The calculation of electron-phonon coupling combined with Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer's argument indicates that this compound may be a candidate for high $T_c$ superconductors under high pressures. In particular, the maximum $T_c$ of $P\bar{6}2m$-Li$_2$SiH$_6$ at 400 GPa reaches 56 K. These findings may pave the way for obtaining room temperature superconductors in dense hydrogen-rich compounds.

The Algebro-Geometric Initial Value Problem for the Relativistic Lotka-Volterra Hierarchy and Quasi-Periodic Solutions

We provide a detailed treatment of relativistic Lotka-Volterra hierarchy and a kind of initial value problem with special emphasis on its the theta function representation of all algebro-geometric solutions. The basic tools involve hyperelliptic curve $\mathcal{K}_n$ associated with the Burchnall-Chaundy polynomial, Dubrovin-type equations for auxiliary divisors and associated trace formulas. With the help of a foundamental meromorphic function $\tildeϕ$ on $\mathcal{K}_p$ and trace formulas, the complex-valued algebro-geometric solutions of of RLV hierarchy are derived.

The algebro-geometric solutions for Degasperis-Procesi hierarchy

Though completely integrable Camassa-Holm (CH) equation and Degasperis-Procesi (DP) equation are cast in the same peakon family, they possess the second- and third-order Lax operators, respectively. From the viewpoint of algebro-geometrical study, this difference lies in hyper-elliptic and non-hyper-elliptic curves. The non-hyper-elliptic curves lead to great difficulty in the construction of algebro-geometric solutions of the DP equation. In this paper, we derive the DP hierarchy with the help of Lenard recursion operators. Based on the characteristic polynomial of a Lax matrix for the DP hierarchy, we introduce a third order algebraic curve $\mathcal{K}_{r-2}$ with genus $r-2$, from which the associated Baker-Akhiezer functions, meromorphic function and Dubrovin-type equations are established. Furthermore, the theory of algebraic curve is applied to derive explicit representations of the theta function for the Baker-Akhiezer functions and the meromorphic function. In particular, the algebro-geometric solutions are obtained for all equations in the whole DP hierarchy.

The basic tools involve hyperelliptic curve $\mathcal{K}_p$ associated with the Burchnall-Chaundy polynomial, Dubrovin-type equations for auxiliary divisors and associated trace formulas. With the help of a foundamental meromorphic function $ϕ$, Baker-Akhiezer vector $Ψ$ on $\mathcal{K}_p$, the complex-valued algebro-geometric solutions of RT hierarchy are derived.

The coupled Schodinger hierarchy associated with third-order algebraic curves and algebro-geometric solutions

By introducing Lenard recursion equations, we derive a general coupled nonlinear Sch$\mathrm{\ddot{o}}$dinger (CNLS) hierarchy associated with well-known Manakov system and Sasa-Satsuma system. Based on the characteristic polynomial of Lax matrix for CNLS hierarchy, we obtain a third order algebraic curve $\mathcal{K}_{m-2}$ of arithmetic genus $m-2$, from which we establish the associated Baker-Ahhiezer functions, meromorphic function and Dubrovin-type equations for analogs of Dirichlet and Neumann divisors. Using these results and the theory of algebraic curve, we obtain the explicit theta function representations of the Baker-Ahhiezer functions, the meromorphic function, and in particular, of the algebro-geometric solutions for the entire CNLS hierarchy.

Highly birefringent polymer terahertz fiber with honeycomb cladding

Two highly birefringent polymer terahertz (THz) fibers were proposed in this paper, which were formed with honeycomb cladding and some elliptical air holes in the fiber core. The losses and mode birefringence for two different fibers are investigated by finite-different time-domain method. The results show that fiber 2 can achieve both high birefringence (larger than 0.022) and low confinement loss (0.01 dB/m) in a wide THz frequency range. Moreover, compared with a round solid-core fiber, guiding loss of the THz fiber caused by polymer material absorption can be reduced effectively as a part of the mode power is trapped in the air holes.
