Infinite time bubbling for the $SU(2)$ Yang-Mills heat flow on $\mathbb{R}^4$

We investigate the long time behaviour of the Yang-Mills heat flow on the bundle $\mathbb{R}^4\times SU(2)$. Waldron \cite{Waldron2019} proved global existence and smoothness of the flow on closed $4-$manifolds, leaving open the issue of the behaviour in infinite time. We exhibit two types of long-time bubbling: first we construct an initial data and a globally defined solution which {\sl blows-up} in infinite time at a given point in $\mathbb R^4$. Second, we prove the existence of {\sl bubble-tower} solutions, also in infinite time. This answers the basic dynamical properties of the heat flow of Yang-Mills connection in the critical dimension $4$ and shows in particular that in general one cannot expect that this gradient flow converges to a Yang-Mills connection. We emphasize that we do not assume for the first result any symmetry assumption; whereas the second result on the existence of the bubble-tower is in the $SO(4)$-equivariant class, but nevertheless new.

Extinction behaviour for the fast diffusion equations with critical exponent and Dirichlet boundary conditions

For a smooth bounded domain $Ω\subseteq\mathbb{R}^n$, $n\geq 3$, we consider the fast diffusion equation with critical sobolev exponent $$\frac{\partial w}{\partialτ} =Δw^{\frac{n-2}{n+2}}$$ under Dirichlet boundary condition $w(\cdot, τ) = 0$ on $\partialΩ$. Using the parabolic gluing method, we prove existence of an initial data $w_0$ such that the corresponding solution has extinction rate of the form $$\|w(\cdot, τ)\|_{L^\infty(Ω)} = γ_0(T-τ)^{\frac{n+2}{4}}\left|\ln(T-τ)\right|^{\frac{n+2}{2(n-2)}}(1+o(1))$$ as $t\to T^-$, here $T > 0$ is the finite extinction time of $w(x, τ)$. This generalizes and provides rigorous proof of a result of Galaktionov and King \cite{galaktionov2001fast} for the radially symmetric case $Ω=B_1(0) : = \{x\in \mathbb{R}^n||x| < 1\}\subset\mathbb{R}^n$.

Fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equations with singular potential in $\mathbf R^n$

We are interested in nonlinear fractional Schrödinger equations with singular potential of form \begin{equation*} (-Δ)^su=\fracλ{|x|^α}u+|u|^{p-1}u,\quad \mathbf R^n\setminus\{0\}, \end{equation*} where $s\in (0,1)$, $α>0$, $p\ge1$ and $λ\in \mathbf R$. Via Caffarelli-Silvestre extension method, we obtain existence, nonexistence, regularity and symmetry properties of solutions to this equation for various $α$, $p$ and $λ$.

Concentration phenomenon for fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equations

We study the concentration phenomenon for solutions of the fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which is nonlocal. We mainly use the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction method. Precisely, consider the nonlinear equation \begin{equation}\label{e:abstract} (-\varepsilon^2Δ)^sv+Vv-|v|^αv=0\quad\mbox{in}\quad\mathbf R^n, \end{equation} where $n =1, 2, 3$, $\max\{\frac{1}{2}, \frac{n}{4}\}< s < 1$, $1 \leq α< α_*(s,n)$, $V\in C^3_{b}(\mathbf{R}^n)$. Here the exponent $α_*(s,n)=\frac{4s}{n-2s}$ for $0 < s < \frac{n}{2}$ and $α_*(s,n)=\infty$ for $s \geq\frac{n}{2}$. Then for each non-degenerate critical point $z_0$ of $V$, there is a nontrivial solution of equation (\ref{e:abstract}) concentrating to $z_0$ as $\varepsilon\to 0$.

Existence of Nontrivial Solutions for p-Laplacian Equations in {R}^{N}

In this paper, we consider a p-Laplacian equation in {R}^{N}with sign-changing potential and subcritical p-superlinear nonlinearity. By using the cohomological linking method for cones developed by Degiovanni and Lancelotti in 2007, an existence result is obtained. We also give a result on the existence of periodic solutions for one-dimensional $p$-Laplacian equations which can be proved by the same method.
