CLTS+: A New Chinese Long Text Summarization Dataset with Abstractive Summaries

The abstractive methods lack of creative ability is particularly a problem in automatic text summarization. The summaries generated by models are mostly extracted from the source articles. One of the main causes for this problem is the lack of dataset with abstractiveness, especially for Chinese. In order to solve this problem, we paraphrase the reference summaries in CLTS, the Chinese Long Text Summarization dataset, correct errors of factual inconsistencies, and propose the first Chinese Long Text Summarization dataset with a high level of abstractiveness, CLTS+, which contains more than 180K article-summary pairs and is available online. Additionally, we introduce an intrinsic metric based on co-occurrence words to evaluate the dataset we constructed. We analyze the extraction strategies used in CLTS+ summaries against other datasets to quantify the abstractiveness and difficulty of our new data and train several baselines on CLTS+ to verify the utility of it for improving the creative ability of models.

Laser-induced Electron-Transfer in the Dissociative Multiple Ionization of Argon Dimers

We report on an experimental and theoretical study of the ionization-fragmentation dynamics of argon dimers in intense few-cycle laser pulses with a tagged carrier-envelope phase. We find that a field-driven electron transfer process from one argon atom across the system boundary to the other argon atom triggers sub-cycle electron-electron interaction dynamics in the neighboring atom. This attosecond electron-transfer process between distant entities and its implications manifest themselves as a distinct phase-shift between the measured asymmetry of electron emission curves of the $\text{Ar}^{+}+\text{Ar}^{2+}$ and $\text{Ar}^{2+}+\text{Ar}^{2+}$ fragmentation channels. Our work discloses a strong-field route to controlling the dynamics in molecular compounds through the excitation of electronic dynamics on a distant molecule by driving inter-molecular electron-transfer processes.

Local probe of the interlayer coupling strength of few-layers SnSe by contact-resonance atomic force microscopy

The interlayer bonding in two dimensional materials is particularly important because it is not only related to their physical and chemical stability but also affects their mechanical, thermal, electronic, optical, and other properties. To address this issue, we report the direct characterization of the interlayer bonding in 2D SnSe using contact-resonance atomic force microscopy in this study. Site specific CR spectroscopy and CR force spectroscopy measurements are performed on both SnSe and its supporting SiO2 substrate comparatively. Based on the cantilever and contact mechanic models, the contact stiffness and vertical Young's modulus are evaluated in comparison with SiO2 as a reference material. The interlayer bonding of SnSe is further analyzed in combination with the semi-analytical model and density functional theory calculations. The direct characterization of interlayer interactions using this nondestructive methodology of CR AFM would facilitate a better understanding of the physical and chemical properties of 2D layered materials, specifically for interlayer intercalation and vertical heterostructures.

Resonant Asymmetric All-Dielectric Metasurface for Boosting Third-Harmonic Generation

Resonant metasurfaces have received extensive attention due to their sharp spectral feature and extraordinary field enhancement. In this work, by breaking the in-plane symmetry of silicon nanopillars, we achieve a sharp Fano resonance. The far-field radiation and near-field distribution of metasurfaces are calculated and analyzed to further uncover the resonant performance of metasurfaces. Moreover, the theoretical derivation and simulation exhibit an inverse quadratic dependence of Q-factors on asymmetry parameters, revealing that the resonance is governed by the symmetry-protected bound states in the continuum. Finally we experimentally demonstrate the sharp resonance, and employ it to effciently boost the third-harmonic generation. This enhancement can be attributed to the strong optical intensity enhancement inside the metasurface.

The effect of Coulomb field on laser-induced ultrafast imaging methods

By performing a joint theoretical and experimental investigation on the high-order above-threshold ionization (HATI) spectrum, the dominant role of the 3rd-return-recollision trajectories in the region near the cutoff due to the ionic Coulomb field is identified. This invalidates the key assumption adopted in the conventional laser-induced electron diffraction (LIED) approach that the 1st-returnrecollision trajectories dominate the spectrum according to strong field approximation (SFA). Our results show that the incident (return) electron beams produced by the 1st and 3rd returns possess distinct characteristics of beam energy, beam diameter and temporal evolution law due to the influence of Coulomb field, and therefore the extracted results in the LIED will be altered if the significance of the 3rd-return-recollision trajectories is properly considered in the analysis. Such Coulomb field effect should be taken into account in all kinds of laser-induced imaging schemes based on recollision.

Understanding two-photon double ionization of helium from the perspective of the characteristic time of dynamic transitions

By using the B-spline numerical method, we investigate a two-photon double-ionization (TPDI) process of helium in a high-frequency laser field with its frequency ranging from 1.6~a.u. to 3.0~a.u. and the pulse duration ranging from 75 to 160~attoseconds. We found that there exists a characteristic time $t_{c}$ for a TPDI process, such that the pattern of energy distribution of two ionized electrons presents a peak or two, depending respectively on whether the pulse duration is shorter or longer than $t_{c}$. Especially, as the pulse duration is larger than $t_c$, the TPDI spectrum shows a double-peak structure which is attributed to the fact that most of the electron-electron Coulomb interaction energy is acquired by single electron during their oscillation around the nucleus before the two electrons leave. Additionally, if the photon energy is less than the ionization energy of He$^{+}$, $t_{c}$ is not a fixed value, and it increases as the photon energy decreases; while if the energy of a photon is greater than the ionization energy of He$^{+}$, $t_{c}$ is fixed at about 105 attoseconds. We further found that, for a helium-like ion in its ground state, the characteristic time for the case of the photon energy larger than the ionization energy of the second electron has a key relation with the Coulomb interaction energy $\overline{V}_{12}$ between the two electrons, which can be expressed as $t_{c}\overline{V}_{12}=4.192$, a type of quantum mechanical uncertainty relation between time and energy. In addition, this relation can be attributed to the existence of a minimal evolution time from the ground state to a double ionization state with two electrons carrying different energies. These results may shed light on deeper understanding of many-electron quantum dynamical processes.

Bilinear identities for an extended B-type Kadomtsev-Petviashvili hierarchy

In this paper, we construct the bilinear identities for the wave functions of an extended B-type Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (BKP) hierarchy, which contains two types of (2+1)-dimensional Sawada-Kotera equation with a self-consistent source (2d-SKwS-I and 2d-SKwS-II). By introducing an auxiliary variable corresponding to the extended flow for the BKP hierarchy, we find the tau-function and the bilinear identities for this extended BKP hierarchy. The bilinear identities can generate all the Hirota's bilinear equations for the zero-curvature forms of this extended BKP hierarchy. As examples, the Hirota's bilinear equations for the two types of 2d-SKwS (both 2d-SKwS-I and 2d-SKwS-II) will be given explicitly.

Phaseless computational imaging with a radiating metasurface

Computational imaging modalities support a simplification of the active architectures required in an imaging system and these approaches have been validated across the electromagnetic spectrum. Recent implementations have utilized pseudo-orthogonal radiation patterns to illuminate an object of interest---notably, frequency-diverse metasurfaces have been exploited as fast and low-cost alternative to conventional coherent imaging systems. However, accurately measuring the complex-valued signals in the frequency domain can be burdensome, particularly for sub-centimeter wavelengths. Here, computational imaging is studied under the relaxed constraint of intensity-only measurements. A novel 3D imaging system is conceived based on 'phaseless' and compressed measurements, with benefits from recent advances in the field of phase retrieval. In this paper, the methodology associated with this novel principle is described, studied, and experimentally demonstrated in the microwave range. A comparison of the estimated images from both complex valued and phaseless measurements are presented, verifying the fidelity of phaseless computational imaging.

Laser-sub-cycle two-dimensional electron momentum mapping using orthogonal two-color fields

The two-dimensional sub-cycle-time to electron momentum mapping provided by orthogonal two-color laser fields is applied to photoelectron spectroscopy. Using neon as the example we gain experimental access to the dynamics of emitted electron wave packets in electron momenta spectra measured by coincidence momentum imaging. We demonstrate the opportunities provided by this time-to-momentum mapping by investigating the influence of the parent ion on the emitted electrons on laser-sub-cycle times. It is found that depending on their sub-cycle birth time the trajectories of photoelectrons are affected differently by the ion's Coulomb field.

Alignment-dependent fluorescence emission induced by tunnel ionization of carbon dioxide from lower-lying orbitals

Study on ionization process of molecules in an intense infrared laser field is of paramount interest in strong-field physics and constitutes the foundation of imaging of molecular valence orbitals and attosecond science. We show measurement of alignment-dependent ionization probabilities of the lower-lying orbitals of the molecules by experimentally detecting alignment-dependence of fluorescence emission from tunnel ionized carbon dioxide molecules. The experimental measurements are compared with the theoretical calculations of strong field approximation (SFA) and molecular ADK models. Our results demonstrate the feasibility of an all-optical approach for probing the ionization dynamics of lower-lying orbitals of molecules, which is still difficult to achieve until now by other techniques. Moreover, the deviation between the experimental and theoretical results indicates the incompleteness of current theoretical models for describing strong field ionization of molecules.

Bilinear Identities and Hirota's Bilinear Forms for an Extended Kadomtsev-Petviashvili Hierarchy

In this paper, we construct the bilinear identities for the wave functions of an extended Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy, which is the KP hierarchy with particular extended flows (2008, Phys. Lett. A, 372: 3819). By introducing an auxiliary parameter (denoted by $z$), whose flow corresponds to the so-called squared eigenfunction symmetry of KP hierarchy, we find the tau-function for this extended KP hierarchy. It is shown that the bilinear identities will generate all the Hirota's bilinear equations for the zero-curvature forms of the extended KP hierarchy, which includes two types of KP equation with self-consistent sources (KPSCS). It seems that the Hirota's bilinear equations obtained in this paper for KPSCS are in a simpler form by comparing with the results by Hu and Wang (2007, Inverse Problems, 23: 1433).

Mirror symmetry for orbifold Hurwitz numbers

We study mirror symmetry for orbifold Hurwitz numbers. We show that the Laplace transform of orbifold Hurwitz numbers satisfy a differential recursion, which is then proved to be equivalent to the integral recursion of Eynard and Orantin with spectral curve given by the r-Lambert curve. We argue that the r-Lambert curve also arises in the infinite framing limit of orbifold Gromov-Witten theory of [C3/(Z/rZ)]. Finally, we prove that the mirror model to orbifold Hurwitz numbers admits a quantum curve.

Quantum curves for simple Hurwitz numbers of an arbitrary base curve

Various generating functions of simple Hurwitz numbers of the projective line are known to satisfy many properties. They include a heat equation, the Eynard-Orantin topological recursion, an infinite-order differential equation called a quantum curve equation, and a Schroedinger like partial differential equation. In this paper we generalize these properties to simple Hurwitz numbers with an arbitrary base curve.

Signature of multi-channel interference in high-order harmonic generation from N2 driven by intense mid-infrared pulses

We investigate the multi-electron dynamics in high-order harmonic generation (HHG) from N2 molecules. Clear spectral minima are observed in the cutoff region at all three mid-infrared wavelengths (i.e., 1300, 1400 and 1500 nm) chosen in our experiment. It is found that the positions of the spectral minima do not depend on the alignment angles of molecules. In addition, the spectral minima shift almost linearly with the increasing laser intensity at all three wavelengths, which provides a strong evidence on the dynamic multi-channel interference origin of these minima. The advantages of observation of dynamic multi-channel interference based on HHG driven by long wavelength lasers are discussed.

A criterion of normality based on a single holomorphic function II

In this paper, we continue to discuss normality based on a single\linebreak holomorphic function. We obtain the following result. Let $\CF$ be a family of functions holomorphic on a domain $D\subset\mathbb C$. Let $k\ge2$ be an integer and let $h(\not\equiv0)$ be a holomorphic function on $D$, such that $h(z)$ has no common zeros with any $f\in\CF$. Assume also that the following two conditions hold for every $f\in\CF$:\linebreak %{enumerate} [(a)] (a) $f(z)=0\Longrightarrow f'(z)=h(z)$ and %[(b)] (b) $f'(z)=h(z)\Longrightarrow|f^{(k)}(z)|\le c$, where $c$ is a constant. Then $\CF$ is normal on $D$. %{enumerate} A geometrical approach is used to arrive at the result which significantly improves the previous results of the authors, \textit{A criterion of normality based on a single holomorphic function}, Acta Math. Sinica, English Series (1) \textbf{27} (2011), 141--154 and of Chang, Fang, and Zalcman, \textit{Normal families of holomorphic functions}, Illinois Math. J. (1) \textbf{48} (2004), 319--337. We also deal with two other similar criterions of normality. Our results are shown to be sharp.

A new extended matrix KP hierarchy and its solutions

With the square eigenfunctions symmetry constraint, we introduce a new extended matrix KP hierarchy and its Lax representation from the matrix KP hierarchy by adding a new $τ_B$ flow. The extended KP hierarchy contains two time series ${t_A}$ and ${τ_B}$ and eigenfunctions and adjoint eigenfunctions as components. The extended matrix KP hierarchy and its $t_A$-reduction and $τ_B$ reduction include two types of matrix KP hierarchy with self-consistent sources and two types of (1+1)-dimensional reduced matrix KP hierarchy with self-consistent sources. In particular, the first type and second type of the 2+1 AKNS equation and the Davey-Stewartson equation with self-consistent sources are deduced from the extended matrix KP hierarchy. The generalized dressing approach for solving the extended matrix KP hierarchy is proposed and some solutions are presented. The soliton solutions of two types of 2+1-dimensional AKNS equation with self-consistent sources and two types of Davey-Stewartson equation with self-consistent sources are studied.

A new extended discrete KP hierarchy and generalized dressing method

Inspired by the squared eigenfunction symmetry constraint, we introduce a new $\ta_k$-flow by ``extending'' a specific $t_n$-flow of discrete KP hierarchy (DKPH). We construct extended discrete KPH (exDKPH), which consists of $t_n$-flow, $\ta_k$-flow and $t_n$ evolution of eigenfunction and adjoin eigenfunctions, and its Lax representation. The exDKPH contains two types of discrete KP equation with self-consistent sources (DKPESCS). Two reductions of exDKPH are obtained. The generalized dressing approach for solving the exDKPH is proposed and the N-soliton solutions of two types of the DKPESCS are presented.

A new extended q-deformed KP hierarchy

A method is proposed in this paper to construct a new extended q-deformed KP ($q$-KP) hiearchy and its Lax representation. This new extended $q$-KP hierarchy contains two types of q-deformed KP equation with self-consistent sources, and its two kinds of reductions give the q-deformed Gelfand-Dickey hierarchy with self-consistent sources and the constrained q-deformed KP hierarchy, which include two types of q-deformed KdV equation with sources and two types of q-deformed Boussinesq equation with sources. All of these results reduce to the classical ones when $q$ goes to 1. This provides a general way to construct (2+1)- and (1+1)-dimensional q-deformed soliton equations with sources and their Lax representations.
