On Lipschitz continuity of solutions of hyperbolic Poisson's equation

In this paper, we investigate solutions of the hyperbolic Poisson equation $Δ_{h}u(x)=ψ(x)$, where $ψ\in L^{\infty}(\mathbb{B}^{n}, \mathbb{R}^n)$ and \[ Δ_{h}u(x)= (1-|x|^2)^2Δu(x)+2(n-2)(1-|x|^2)\sum_{i=1}^{n} x_{i} \frac{\partial u}{\partial x_{i}}(x) \] is the hyperbolic Laplace operator in the $n$-dimensional space $\mathbb{R}^n$ for $n\ge 2$. We show that if $n\geq 3$ and $u\in C^{2}(\mathbb{B}^{n},\mathbb{R}^n) \cap C(\overline{\mathbb{B}^{n}},\mathbb{R}^n )$ is a solution to the hyperbolic Poisson equation, then it has the representation $u=P_{h}[ϕ]-G_{ h}[ψ]$ provided that $u\mid_{\mathbb{S}^{n-1}}=ϕ$ and $\int_{\mathbb{B}^{n}}(1-|x|^{2})^{n-1} |ψ(x)|\,dτ(x)<\infty$. Here $P_{h}$ and $G_{h}$ denote Poisson and Green integrals with respect to $Δ_{h}$, respectively. Furthermore, we prove that functions of the form $u=P_{h}[ϕ]-G_{h}[ψ]$ are Lipschitz continuous.

Bi-Lipschitz characteristic of quasiconformal self-mappings of the unit disk satisfying bi-harmonic equation

Suppose that $f$ is a $K$-quasiconformal self-mapping of the unit disk $\mathbb{D}$, which satisfies the following: $(1)$ the biharmonic equation $Δ(Δf)=g$ $(g\in \mathcal{C}(\overline{\mathbb{D}}))$, (2) the boundary condition $Δf=φ$ ($φ\in\mathcal{C}(\mathbb{T})$ and $\mathbb{T}$ denotes the unit circle), and $(3)$ $f(0)=0$. The purpose of this paper is to prove that $f$ is Lipschitz continuos, and, further, it is bi-Lipschitz continuous when $\|g\|_{\infty}$ and $\|φ\|_{\infty}$ are small enough. Moreover, the estimates are asymptotically sharp as $K\to 1$, $\|g\|_{\infty}\to 0$ and $\|φ\|_{\infty}\to 0$, and thus, such a mapping $f$ behaves almost like a rotation for sufficiently small $K$, $\|g\|_{\infty}$ and $\|φ\|_{\infty}$.

On the Lipschitz continuity of certain quasiregular mappings between smooth Jordan domains

We first investigate the Lipschitz continuity of $(K, K')$-quasiregular $C^2$ mappings between two Jordan domains with smooth boundaries, satisfying certain partial differential inequalities concerning Laplacian. Then two applications of the obtained result are given: As a direct consequence, we get the Lipschitz continuity of $ρ$-harmonic $(K, K')$-quasiregular mappings, and as the other application, we study the Lipschitz continuity of $(K,K')$-quasiconformal self-mappings of the unit disk, which are the solutions of the Poisson equation $Δw=g$. These results generalize and extend several recently obtained results by Kalaj, Mateljević and Pavlović.

On the subinvariance of uniform domains in metric spaces

Suppose that $X$ and $Y$ are quasiconvex and complete metric spaces, that $G\subset X$ and $G'\subset Y$ are domains, and that $f: G\to G'$ is a homeomorphism. Our main result is the following subinvariance property of the class of uniform domains: Suppose both $f$ and $f^{-1}$ are weakly quasisymmetric mappings and $G'$ is a quasiconvex domain. Then the image $f(D)$ of every uniform subdomain $D$ in $G$ under $f$ is uniform. The subinvariance of uniform domains with respect to freely quasiconformal mappings or quasihyperbolic mappings is also studied with the additional condition that both $G$ and $G'$ are locally John domains.

Semisolidity and locally weak quasisymmetry of homeomorphisms in metric spaces

In this paper, we investigate the relationship between semisolidity and locally weak quasisymmetry of homeomorphisms in quasiconvex and complete metric spaces. Our main objectives are to (1) generalize the main result in [X. Huang and J. Liu, Quasihyperbolic metric and quasisymmetric mappings in metric spaces, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 367 (2015), 6225-6246] together with other related results, and (2) give a complete answer to the open problem given in [X. Huang and J. Liu, Quasihyperbolic metric and quasisymmetric mappings in metric spaces, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 367 (2015), 6225-6246]. As an application, we prove that the composition of two locally weakly quasisymmetric mappings is a locally weakly quasisymmetric mapping and that it is quasiconformal.

Coefficient estimates and the Fekete-Szeg\H o problem for certain classes of polyharmonic mappings

We give coefficient estimates for a class of close-to-convex harmonic mappings, and discuss the Fekete-Szegő problem of it. We also introduce two classes of polyharmonic mappings $\mathcal{HS}_{p}$ and $\mathcal{HC}_{p}$, consider the starlikeness and convexity of them, and obtain coefficient estimates on them. Finally, we give a necessary condition for a mapping $F$ to be in the class $\mathcal{HC}_{p}$.

On polyharmonic univalent mappings

In this paper, we introduce a class of complex-valued polyharmonic mappings, denoted by $HS_{p}(λ)$, and its subclass $HS_{p}^{0}(λ)$, where $λ\in [0,1]$ is a constant. These classes are natural generalizations of a class of mappings studied by Goodman in 1950's. We generalize the main results of Avci and Złotkiewicz from 1990's to the classes $HS_{p}(λ)$ and $HS_{p}^{0}(λ)$, showing that the mappings in $HS_{p}(λ)$ are univalent and sense preserving. We also prove that the mappings in $HS_{p}^{0}(λ)$ are starlike with respect to the origin, and characterize the extremal points of the above classes.

On the subinvariance of uniform domains in Banach spaces

Suppose that $E$ and $E'$ denote real Banach spaces with dimension at least 2, that $D\subset E$ and $D'\subset E'$ are domains, and that $f: D\to D'$ is a homeomorphism. In this paper, we prove the following subinvariance property for the class of uniform domains: Suppose that $f$ is a freely quasiconformal mapping and that $D'$ is uniform. Then the image $f(D_1)$ of every uniform subdomain $D_1$ in $D$ under $f$ is still uniform. This result answers an open problem of Väisälä in the affirmative.

Starlikeness and convexity of polyharmonic mappings

In this paper, we first find an estimate for the range of polyharmonic mappings in the class $HC_{p}^{0}$. Then, we obtain two characterizations in terms of the convolution for polyharmonic mappings to be starlike of order $α$, and convex of order $β$, respectively. Finally, we study the radii of starlikeness and convexity for polyharmonic mappings, under certain coefficient conditions.

Local properties of quasihyperbolic and freely quasiconformal mappings

Suppose that $E$ and $E'$ denote real Banach spaces with dimension at least 2, that $D\subset E$ and $D'\subset E'$ are domains, and that $f: D\to D'$ is a homeomorphism. In this paper, we prove that if there exists some constant $M>1$ (resp. some homeomorphism $ϕ$) such that for all $x\in D$, $f: B(x,d_D(x))\to f(B(x,d_D(x)))$ is $M$-QH (resp. $ϕ$-FQC), then $f$ is $M_1$-QH with $M_1=M_1(M)$ (resp. $ϕ_1$-FQC with $ϕ_1=ϕ_1(ϕ)$). We apply our results to establish, in terms of the $j_D$ metric, a sufficient condition for a homeomorphism to be FQC.

Mapping problems for quasiregular mappings

We study images of the unit ball under certain special classes of quasiregular mappings. For homeomorphic, i.e., quasiconformal mappings problems of this type have been studied extensively in the literature. In this paper we also consider non-homeomorphic quasiregular mappings. In particular, we study (topologically) closed quasiregular mappings originating from the work of J. Väisälä and M. Vuorinen in 1970's. Such mappings need not be one-to-one but they still share many properties of quasiconformal mappings. The global behavior of closed quasiregular mappings is similar to the local behavior of quasiregular mappings restricted to a so-called normal domain.

On quasimöbius maps in real Banach spaces

Suppose that $E$ and $E'$ denote real Banach spaces with dimension at least 2, that $D\varsubsetneq E$ and $D'\varsubsetneq E'$ are domains, that $f: D\to D'$ is an $(M,C)$-CQH homeomorphism, and that $D$ is uniform. The main aim of this paper is to prove that $D'$ is a uniform domain if and only if $f$ extends to a homeomorphism $\bar{f}: \bar{D}\to \bar{D}'$ and $\bar{f}$ is $η$-QM relative to $\partial D$. This result shows that the answer to one of the open problems raised by Väisälä from 1991 is affirmative.

Radial growth, Lipschitz and Dirichlet spaces on solutions to the Yukawa equation

In this paper, we investigate some properties to solutions $f$ to the Yukawa PDE: $Δf=λf$ in the unit ball $\mathbb{B}^n$ of $\mathbb{C}^n$, where $λ$ is a nonnegative constant. First, we prove that the answer to an open problem of Girela and Peláez, concerning such solutions, is positive. Then we study relationships on such solutions between the bounded mean oscillation and Lipschitz-type spaces. At last, we discuss Dirichlet-type energy integrals on such solutions in the unit ball of $\mathbb{C}^{n}$ and give an application.

Quasihyperbolic geodesics in John domains in R^n

In this paper, we prove that if $D\subset R^n$ is a John domain which is homeomorphic to a uniform domain via a quasiconformal mapping, then each quasihyperbolic geodesic in $D$ is a cone arc, which shows that the answer to one of open problems raised by Heinonen in \cite{H} is affirmative. This result also shows that the answer to the open problem raised by Gehring, Hag and Martio in \cite{Gm} is positive for John domains which are homeomorphic to uniform domains via uasiconformal mappings. As an application, we prove that if $D\subset R^n$ is a John domain which is homeomorphic to a uniform domain, then $D$ must be a quasihyperbolic $(b, λ)$-uniform domain.
