Accelerated Topological Pumping in Photonic Waveguides Based on Global Adiabatic Criteria

Adiabatic topological pumping enables robust transport of energy and information, yet its operational speed is fundamentally constrained by the instantaneous adiabatic condition, which necessitates prohibitively slow parameter variations. Here, we propose a paradigm shift from instantaneous to global adiabaticity. We derive a global adiabatic criterion (GAC) that establishes an absolute fidelity bound by controlling the root-mean-square nonadiabaticity. Building on this framework, we introduce a fluctuation-suppression acceleration criterion to minimize spatial inhomogeneity, allowing for a safe increase in mean nonadiabaticity without compromising fidelity. We experimentally demonstrate this principle in femtosecond-laser-written photonic Su-Schrieffer-Heeger waveguide arrays via scalable power-law coupling modulation. Our accelerated topological pumping achieves a fidelity of >0.95 with a fivefold reduction in device length compared to conventional schemes, exhibits the predicted linear scaling with system size, and maintains robust performance across a bandwidth exceeding 400 nm. This GAC framework provides a universal design rule for fast, compact, and robust adiabatic devices across both quantum and classical topological platforms.

On quadri-bialgebras

We introduce the notion of a quadri-bialgebra, which gives a bialgebra theory for the quadri-algebra introduced by Aguiar and Loday. We show that a quadri-bialgebra is equivalent to a Manin triple of dendriform algebras associated to a nondegenerate 2-cocycle, and to a Manin triple of quadri-algebras associated to a nondegenerate invariant bilinear form. Quadri-bialgebras also come from a variation of the classical Yang-Baxter equation, called the $Q$-equations. Moreover, quadri-bialgebras fit into the framework of construction of Rota-Baxter operators and Nijenhuis operators on the double spaces of quadri-algebras.

Demonstration of a 3rd order hierarchy of higher order topological states in a three-dimensional acoustic metamaterial

In the past years classical wave-systems have constituted an excellent platform for emulating complex quantum phenomena. This approach has been especially fruitful in demonstrating topological phenomena in photonics and acoustics: from chiral edge states of Chern insulators and helical edge states of topological insulators to higher-dimensional topological states of quasiperiodic systems and systems with synthetic dimensions. Recently, a new class of topological states localized in more than one dimension of a D-dimensional system, referred to as higher-order topological (HOT) states, has been reported, offering an even more versatile platform to confine and control classical radiation and mechanical motion. However, because experimental research of HOT states has so far been limited to two-dimensional (2D) systems, third and higher-order states have evaded experimental observation. Studying higher-dimensional classical systems therefore opens an opportunity to emulate higher-order topological insulators and explore HOT states beyond second order. In this letter, we design and experimentally study a 3D acoustic metamaterial supporting third-order (0D) topological corner states, along with second-order (1D) edge states within the same topological bandgap, thus establishing a full hierarchy of HOT states in three dimensions, co-existing robustly within the same topological bandgap. The metamaterial is implemented over a versatile additive manufacturing platform, which enables rapid prototyping of metaatoms and metamolecules, which can be snapped together to form 3D metamaterials with complex geometries. The assembled 3D topological metamaterial represents the acoustic analogue of a pyrochlore lattice made of interconnected molecules, and is shown to exhibit topological bulk polarization, leading to the emergence of topological HOT states localized in all three or in two dimensions.

Demonstration of a quantized acoustic octupole topological insulator

Recently extended from the modern theory of electric polarization, quantized multipole topological insulators (QMTIs) describe higher-order multipole moments, lying in nested Wilson loops, which are inherently quantized by lattice symmetries. Overlooked in the past, QMTIs reveal new types of gapped boundaries, which themselves represent lower-dimensional topological phases and host topologically protected zero-dimensional (0D) corner states. Inspired by these pioneering theoretical predictions, tremendous efforts have been devoted to the experimental observation of topological quantized quadrupole phase in a variety of two dimensional (2D) metamaterials. However, due to stringent requirements of anti-commuting reflection symmetries in crystals, it has been challenging to achieve higher-order quantized multipole moments, such as octupole moments, in a realistic three-dimensional (3D) structure. Here, we overcome these challenges, and experimentally realize the acoustic analogue of a quantized octupole topological insulator (QOTIs) using negatively coupled resonators. We confirm by first-principle studies that our design possesses a quantized octupole topological phase, and experimentally demonstrate spectroscopic evidence of a topological hierarchy of states in our metamaterial, observing 3rd order corner states, 2nd order hinge states and 1st order surface states. Furthermore, we reveal topological phase transitions from higher- to lower-order multipole moments in altered designs of acoustic TIs. Our work offers a new pathway to explore higher-order topological states (HOTSs) in 3D classical platforms.

Rota-Baxter algebras, singular hypersurfaces, and renormalization on Kausz compactifications

We consider Rota-Baxter algebras of meromorphic forms with poles along a (singular) hypersurface in a smooth projective variety and the associated Birkhoff factorization for algebra homomorphisms from a commutative Hopf algebra. In the case of a normal crossings divisor, the Rota-Baxter structure simplifies considerably and the factorization becomes a simple pole subtraction. We apply this formalism to the unrenormalized momentum space Feynman amplitudes, viewed as (divergent) integrals in the complement of the determinant hypersurface. We lift the integral to the Kausz compactification of the general linear group, whose boundary divisor is normal crossings. We show that the Kausz compactification is a Tate motive and that the boundary divisor and the divisor that contains the boundary of the chain of integration are mixed Tate configurations. The regularization of the integrals that we obtain differs from the usual renormalization of physical Feynman amplitudes, and in particular it may give mixed Tate periods in some cases that have non-mixed Tate contributions when computed with other renormalization methods.

Generalizations of the classical Yang-Baxter equation and O-operators

Tensor solutions ($r$-matrices) of the classical Yang-Baxter equation (CYBE) in a Lie algebra, obtained as the classical limit of the $R$-matrix solution of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation (QYBE), is an important structure appearing in different areas such as integrable systems, symplectic geometry, quantum groups and quantum field theory. Further study of CYBE led to its interpretation as certain operators, giving rise to the concept of O-operators. In [3], the O-operators were in turn interpreted as tensor solutions of CYBE by enlarging the Lie algebra. The purpose of this paper is to extend this study to a more general class of operators that were recently introduced [4] in the study of Lax pairs in integrable systems. Relationship between $\calo$-operators, relative differential operators and Rota-Baxter operators are also discussed.

Replicating of binary operads, Koszul duality, Manin products and average operators

We consider the notions of the replicators, including the duplicator and triplicator, of a binary operad. As in the closely related notions of di-Var-algebra and tri-Var-algebra in [14], they provide a general operadic definition for the recent constructions of replicating the operations of algebraic structures. We show that taking replicators is in Koszul dual to taking successors in [3] for binary quadratic operads and is equivalent to taking the white product with certain operads such as Perm. We also relate the replicators to the actions of average operators.

L-quadri-algebras

Quadri-algebras introduced by Aguiar and Loday are a class of remarkable Loday algebras. In this paper, we introduce a notion of L-quadri-algebra with 4 operations satisfying certain generalized left-symmetry, as a Lie algebraic analogue of quadri-algebra such that the commutator of the sum of the 4 operations is a Lie algebra. Any quadri-algebra is an L-quadri-algebra. Moreover, L-quadri-algebras fit into the framework of the relationships between Loday algebras and their Lie algebraic analogues, extending the well known fact that the commutator of an associative algebra is a Lie algebra. We also give the close relationships between L-quadri-algebras and some interesting structures like Rota-Baxter operators, classical Yang-Baxter equation, some bilinear forms satisfying certain conditions.

Some results on L-dendriform algebras

We introduce a notion of L-dendriform algebra due to several different motivations. L-dendriform algebras are regarded as the underlying algebraic structures of pseudo-Hessian structures on Lie groups and the algebraic structures behind the $\mathcal O$-operators of pre-Lie algebras and the related $S$-equation. As a direct consequence, they provide some explicit solutions of $S$-equation in certain pre-Lie algebras constructed from L-dendriform algebras. They also fit into a bigger framework as Lie algebraic analogues of dendriform algebras. Moreover, we introduce a notion of $\mathcal O$-operator of an L-dendriform algebra which gives an algebraic equation regarded as an analogue of the classical Yang-Baxter equation in a Lie algebra.

Splitting of operations, Manin products and Rota-Baxter operators

This paper provides a general operadic definition for the notion of splitting the operations of algebraic structures. This construction is proved to be equivalent to some Manin products of operads and it is shown to be closely related to Rota-Baxter operators. Hence, it gives a new effective way to compute Manin black products. The present construction is shown to have symmetry properties. Finally, this allows us to describe the algebraic structure of square matrices with coefficients in algebras of certain types. Many examples illustrate this text, including the case of Jordan algebras.

O-operators on associative algebras and dendriform algebras

An O-operator is a relative version of a Rota-Baxter operator and, in the Lie algebra context, is originated from the operator form of the classical Yang-Baxter equation. We generalize the well-known construction of dendriform dialgebras and trialgebras from Rota-Baxter algebras to a construction from O-operators. We then show that this construction from O-operators gives all dendriform dialgebras and trialgebras. Furthermore there are bijections between certain equivalence classes of invertible O-operators and certain equivalence classes of dendriform dialgebras and trialgebras.

Special symplectic Lie groups and hypersymplectic Lie groups

A special symplectic Lie group is a triple $(G,ω,\nabla)$ such that $G$ is a finite-dimensional real Lie group and $ω$ is a left invariant symplectic form on $G$ which is parallel with respect to a left invariant affine structure $\nabla$. In this paper starting from a special symplectic Lie group we show how to ``deform" the standard Lie group structure on the (co)tangent bundle through the left invariant affine structure $\nabla$ such that the resulting Lie group admits families of left invariant hypersymplectic structures and thus becomes a hypersymplectic Lie group. We consider the affine cotangent extension problem and then introduce notions of post-affine structure and post-left-symmetric algebra which is the underlying algebraic structure of a special symplectic Lie algebra. Furthermore, we give a kind of double extensions of special symplectic Lie groups in terms of post-left-symmetric algebras.

Nonabelian generalized Lax pairs, the classical Yang-Baxter equation and PostLie algebras

We generalize the classical study of (generalized) Lax pairs and the related $O$-operators and the (modified) classical Yang-Baxter equation by introducing the concepts of nonabelian generalized Lax pairs, extended $\calo$-operators and the extended classical Yang-Baxter equation. We study in this context the nonabelian generalized $r$-matrix ansatz and the related double Lie algebra structures. Relationship between extended $O$-operators and the extended classical Yang-Baxter equation is established, especially for self-dual Lie algebras. This relationship allows us to obtain explicit description of the Manin triples for a new class of Lie bialgebras. Furthermore, we show that a natural structure of PostLie algebra is behind $O$-operators and fits in a setup of triple Lie algebra that produces self-dual nonabelian generalized Lax pairs.
