Quantum Finite Automata and Quiver Algebras

We find an application in quantum finite automata for the ideas and results of [JL21] and [JL22]. We reformulate quantum finite automata with multiple-time measurements using the algebraic notion of near-ring. This gives a unified understanding towards quantum computing and deep learning. When the near-ring comes from a quiver, we have a nice moduli space of computing machines with metric that can be optimized by gradient descent.

Kähler Geometry of Quiver Varieties and Machine Learning

We develop an algebro-geometric formulation for neural networks in machine learning using the moduli space of framed quiver representations. We find natural Hermitian metrics on the universal bundles over the moduli which are compatible with the GIT quotient construction by the general linear group, and show that their Ricci curvatures give a Kähler metric on the moduli. Moreover, we use toric moment maps to construct activation functions, and prove the universal approximation theorem for the multi-variable activation function constructed from the complex projective space.

$T$-equivariant disc potentials for toric Calabi-Yau manifolds

We study the equivariant disc potentials for immersed SYZ fibers in toric Calabi-Yau manifolds. The immersed Lagrangians play a crucial role in the partial compactification of the SYZ mirrors. Morever, their equivariant disc potentials have a close relation with that of Aganagic-Vafa branes. We show that the potentials can be computed by using an equivariant version of isomorphisms in the Fukaya category.

Immersed two-spheres and SYZ with Application to Grassmannians

We develop a Floer theoretical gluing technique and apply it to deal with the most generic singular fiber in the SYZ program, namely the product of a torus with the immersed two-sphere with a single nodal self-intersection. As an application, we construct immersed Lagrangians in $\mathrm{Gr}(2,\mathbb{C}^n)$ and $\mathrm{OG}(1,\mathbb{C}^5)$ and derive their SYZ mirrors. It recovers the Lie theoretical mirrors constructed by Rietsch. It also gives an effective way to compute stable disks (with non-trivial obstructions) bounded by immersed Lagrangians.

On the Complex Affine Structures of SYZ Fibration of Del Pezzo Surfaces

Given any smooth cubic curve $E\subseteq \mathbb{P}^2$, we show that the complex affine structure of the special Lagrangian fibration of $\mathbb{P}^2\setminus E$ constructed by Collins--Jacob--Lin arXiv:1904.08363 coincides with the affine structure used in Carl--Pomperla--Siebert for constructing mirror. Moreover, we use the Floer-theoretical gluing method to construct a mirror using immersed Lagrangians, which is shown to agree with the mirror constructed by Carl--Pomperla--Siebert.

Localized mirror functor constructed from a Lagrangian torus

Fixing a weakly unobstructed Lagrangian torus in a symplectic manifold X, we define a holomorphic function W known as the Floer potential. We construct a canonical A-infinity functor from the Fukaya category of X to the category of matrix factorizations of W. It provides a unified way to construct matrix factorizations from Lagrangian Floer theory. The technique is applied to toric Fano manifolds to transform Lagrangian branes to matrix factorizations. Using the method, we also obtain an explicit expression of the matrix factorization mirror to the real locus of the complex projective space.

Non-Kaehler SYZ mirror symmetry

We study SYZ mirror symmetry in the context of non-Kaehler Calabi-Yau manifolds. In particular, we study the six-dimensional Type II supersymmetric $SU(3)$ systems with Ramond-Ramond fluxes, and generalize them to higher dimensions. We show that Fourier-Mukai transform provides the mirror map between these Type IIA and Type IIB supersymmetric systems in the semi-flat setting. This is concretely exhibited by nilmanifolds.

Localized mirror functor for Lagrangian immersions, and homological mirror symmetry for P^1_{a,b,c}

This paper gives a new way of constructing Landau-Ginzburg mirrors using deformation theory of Lagrangian immersions motivated by the works of Seidel, Strominger-Yau-Zaslow and Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono. Moreover we construct a canonical functor from the Fukaya category to the mirror category of matrix factorizations. This functor derives homological mirror symmetry under some explicit assumptions. As an application, the construction is applied to spheres with three orbifold points to produce their quantum-corrected mirrors and derive homological mirror symmetry. Furthermore we discover an enumerative meaning of the (inverse) mirror map for elliptic curve quotients.

Gross-Siebert's slab functions and open GW invariants for toric Calabi-Yau manifolds

This paper derives an equality between the slab functions in Gross-Siebert program and generating functions of open Gromov-Witten invariants for toric Calabi-Yau manifolds, and thereby confirms a conjecture of Gross-Siebert on symplectic enumerative meaning of slab functions. The proof is based on the open mirror theorem of Chan-Cho-Lau-Tseng \cite{CCLT13}. It shows an instance of correspondence between tropical and symplectic geometry in the open sector.

Lagrangian Floer superpotentials and crepant resolutions for toric orbifolds

We investigate the relationship between the Lagrangian Floer superpotentials for a toric orbifold and its toric crepant resolutions. More specifically, we study an open string version of the crepant resolution conjecture (CRC) which states that the Lagrangian Floer superpotential of a Gorenstein toric orbifold $\mathcal{X}$ and that of its toric crepant resolution $Y$ coincide after analytic continuation of quantum parameters and a change of variables. Relating this conjecture with the closed CRC, we find that the change of variable formula which appears in closed CRC can be explained by relations between open (orbifold) Gromov-Witten invariants. We also discover a geometric explanation (in terms of virtual counting of stable orbi-discs) for the specialization of quantum parameters to roots of unity which appears in Y. Ruan's original CRC ["The cohomology ring of crepant resolutions of orbifolds", Gromov-Witten theory of spin curves and orbifolds, 117-126, Contemp. Math., 403, Amer. Math. Soc., Providence, RI, 2006]. We prove the open CRC for the weighted projective spaces $\mathcal{X}=\mathbb{P}(1,\ldots,1,n)$ using an equality between open and closed orbifold Gromov-Witten invariants. Along the way, we also prove an open mirror theorem for these toric orbifolds.

Enumerative meaning of mirror maps for toric Calabi-Yau manifolds

We prove that the inverse of a mirror map for a toric Calabi-Yau manifold of the form $K_Y$, where $Y$ is a compact toric Fano manifold, can be expressed in terms of generating functions of genus 0 open Gromov-Witten invariants defined by Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono \cite{FOOO10}. Such a relation between mirror maps and disk counting invariants was first conjectured by Gross and Siebert \cite[Conjecture 0.2 and Remark 5.1]{GS11} as part of their program, and was later formulated in terms of Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono's invariants in the toric Calabi-Yau case in \cite[Conjecture 1.1]{CLL12}.

Open Gromov-Witten invariants and superpotentials for semi-Fano toric surfaces

In this paper, we compute the open Gromov-Witten invariants for every compact toric surface X which is semi-Fano (i.e. the anticanonical line bundle is nef). Unlike the Fano case, this involves non-trivial obstructions in the corresponding moduli problem. As a consequence, an explicit formula for the Lagrangian Floer superpotential W is obtained, which in turn gives an explicit presentation of the small quantum cohomology ring of X. We also provide a computational verification of the conjectural ring isomorphism between the small quantum cohomology of X and the Jacobian ring of W.
