Sparse Lerner operators in infinite dimensions

We use the principle of almost orthogonality to give a new and simple proof that a sparse Lerner operator is bounded on a matrix- or operator-weighted space $L_W^{2}(μ)$, where $μ$ is a doubling measure on $\R^d$ if and only if the weight $W$ satisfies the Muckenhoupt $A_2(μ)$-condition, restricted to the sparse collection in question. Our method extends to the infinite-dimensional setting, thus allowing for applications to the multi-parameter setting. For the class of Muckenhoupt $A_2$-weights, we obtain bounds in terms of mixed $A_{2}(μ)$-$A_{\infty}(μ)$-conditions, which is independent of dimension and agrees with the best known bound in the finite-dimensional vectorial setting. As an application, we prove a matrix-weighted bound for the maximal Bergman projection, where we obtain a new sharper bound in terms of the Békollé-Bonami characteristic. Furthermore, we consider commutators of sparse Lerner operators on operator-valued weighted $L^{2}$-spaces and some applications to multi-parameters

Commutators in the two scalar and matrix weighted setting

In this paper we approach the two weighted boundedness of commutators via matrix weights. This approach provides both a sufficient and a necessary condition for the two weighted boundedness of commutators with an arbitrary linear operator in terms of one matrix weighted norm inequalities for this operator. Furthermore, using this approach, we surprisingly provide conditions that almost characterize the two matrix weighted boundedness of commutators with CZOs and completely arbitrary matrix weights, which is even new in the fully scalar one weighted setting. Finally, our method allows us to extend the two weighted Holmes/Lacey/Wick results to the fully matrix setting (two matrix weights and a matrix symbol), completing a line of research initiated by the first two authors.

Laplace--Carleson embeddings on model spaces and boundedness of truncated Hankel and Toeplitz operators

A characterisation is given of bounded embeddings from weighted $L^2$ spaces on bounded intervals into $L^2$ spaces on the half-plane, induced by isomorphisms given by the Laplace transform onto weighted Hardy and Bergman spaces (Zen spaces). As an application necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the boundedness of truncated Hankel and Toeplitz integral operators, including the weighted case.

$β$-admissibility of observation and control operators for hypercontractive semigroups

We prove a Weiss conjecture on $β$-admissibility of control and observation operators for discrete and continuous $γ$-hypercontractive semigroups of operators, by representing them in terms of shifts on weighted Bergman spaces and using a reproducing kernel thesis for Hankel operators. Particular attention is paid to the case $γ=2$, which corresponds to the unweighted Bergman shift.

The Linear Bound for the Natural Weighted Resolution of the Haar Shift

The Hilbert transform has a linear bound in the $A_{2}$ characteristic on weighted $L^{2}$, \begin{equation*} \left\Vert H\right\Vert _{L^{2}(w)\rightarrow L^{2}(w)}\lesssim \left[ w \right] _{A_{2}}, \end{equation*} and we extend this linear bound to the nine constituent operators in the natural weighted resolution of the conjugation $M_{w^{\frac{1}{2}}}\mathcal{S }M_{w^{-\frac{1}{2}}}$ induced by the canonical decomposition of a multiplier into paraproducts:% \begin{equation*} M_{f}=P_{f}^{-}+P_{f}^{0}+P_{f}^{+}. \end{equation*} The main tools used are composition of paraproducts, a product formula for Haar coefficients, the Carleson Embedding Theorem, and the linear bound for the square function.

Thin sequences and the Gram matrix

We provide a new proof of Volberg's Theorem characterizing thin interpolating sequences as those for which the Gram matrix associated to the normalized reproducing kernels is a compact perturbation of the identity. In the same paper, Volberg characterized sequences for which the Gram matrix is a compact perturbation of a unitary as well as those for which the Gram matrix is a Schatten-$2$ class perturbation of a unitary operator. We extend this characterization from $2$ to $p$, where $2 \le p \le \infty$.

Linear bounds for Calderón-Zygmund operators with even kernel on UMD spaces

It is well-known that several classical results about Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators can be extended to \(X\)-valued functions if and only if the Banach space \(X\) has the UMD property. The dependence of the norm of an \(X\)-valued Calderón-Zygmund operator on the UMD constant of the space \(X\) is conjectured to be linear. We prove that this is indeed the case for sufficiently smooth Calderón-Zygmund operators with cancellation, associated to an even kernel. Our method uses the Bellman function technique to obtain the right estimates for the norm of dyadic Haar shift operators. We then apply the representation theorem of T. Hytönen to extend the result to general Calderón-Zygmund operators.

Sarason Conjecture on the Bergman space

We provide a counterexample to the Sarason Conjecture for the Bergman space and present a characterisation of bounded Toeplitz products on the Bergman space in terms of test functions by means of a dyadic model approach. We also present some results about two-weighted estimates for the Bergman projection. Finally, we introduce the class $B_{\infty}$ and give sharp estimates for the one-weighted Bergman projection.

Applications of Laplace-Carleson embeddings to admissibility and controllability

It is shown how results on Carleson embeddings induced by the Laplace transform can be use to derive new and more general results concerning the weighted admissibility of control and observation operators for linear semigroup systems with q-Riesz bases of eigenvectors. Next, a new Carleson embedding result is proved, which gives further results on weighted admissibility for analytic semigroups. Finally, controllability by smoother inputs is characterised by means of a new result about weighted interpolation.

Logarithmic mean oscillation on the polydisc, endpoint results for multi-parameter paraproducts, and commutators on BMO

We study boundedness properties of a class of multiparameter paraproducts on the dual space of the dyadic Hardy space H_d^1(T^N), the dyadic product BMO space BMO_d(T^N). For this, we introduce a notion of logarithmic mean oscillation on the polydisc. We also obtain a result on the boundedness of iterated commutators on BMO([0,1]^2).

On Laplace-Carleson embedding theorems

This paper gives embedding theorems for a very general class of weighted Bergman spaces: the results include a number of classical Carleson embedding theorems as special cases. We also consider little Hankel operators on these Bergman spaces. Next, a study is made of Carleson embeddings in the right half-plane induced by taking the Laplace transform of functions defined on the positive half-line (these embeddings have applications in control theory): particular attention is given to the case of a sectorial measure or a measure supported on a strip, and complete necessary and sufficient conditions for a bounded embedding are given in many cases.

Weighted multiple interpolation and the control of perturbed semigroup systems

In this paper the controllabillity and admissibility of perturbed semigroup systems are studied, using tools from the theory of interpolation and Carleson measures. In addition, there are new results on the perturbation of Carleson measures and on the weighted interpolation of functions and their derivatives in Hardy spaces, which are of interest in their own right.
