LaST-R1: Reinforcing Robotic Manipulation via Adaptive Physical Latent Reasoning

Robotic foundation models require reasoning over complex visual scenes to execute adaptive actions in dynamic environments. While recent studies on latent-reasoning Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models have demonstrated the capability to capture fine-grained physical dynamics, they remain predominantly confined to static imitation learning, severely limiting their adaptability and generalization. In this paper, we present LaST-R1, a novel reinforcement learning (RL) post-training framework designed to effectively harness "latent reasoning-before-acting" policies. Specifically, we propose Latent-to-Action Policy Optimization (LAPO), a core RL algorithm that jointly optimizes the latent reasoning process and the action generation. By explicitly embedding latent Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning directly within the RL optimization loop, LAPO stimulates profound physical world modeling, which in turn drives robust execution in interactive environments. Furthermore, an adaptive latent CoT mechanism is introduced, allowing the policy to dynamically modulate its reasoning horizon based on diverse environment states. Experiments show that LaST-R1 achieves a near-perfect 99.9% average success rate on the LIBERO benchmark with only one-shot supervised warm-up, significantly improving convergence speed and performance over prior state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods. In real-world deployments, LaST-R1 yields up to a 22.5% average improvement over SOTA supervised fine-tuning approach across four complex tasks, including both single-arm and dual-arm settings. Finally, LaST-R1 demonstrates strong generalization across simulated and real-world environments.

Uni-Synergy: Bridging Understanding and Generation for Personalized Reasoning via Co-operative Reinforcement Learning

Unified Multimodal Models (UMMs) excel in general tasks but struggle to bridge the gap between personalized understanding and generation. Prior works largely rely on implicit token-level alignment via supervised fine-tuning, which fails to fully capture the potential synergy between comprehension and creation. In this work, we propose Sync-R1, an end-to-end reinforcement learning framework that jointly optimizes personalized understanding and generation within a single, explicit reasoning loop. Through this unified feedback process, Sync-R1 enables personalized comprehension to guide content creation, while the resulting generation quality reciprocally refines understanding within an integrated reward landscape. To efficiently orchestrate this dual-task synergy, we introduce Sync-GRPO, a reinforcement learning method utilizing an ensemble reward system. Furthermore, we propose Dynamic Group Scaling (DGS), which adaptively filters low-potential trajectories to reduce gradient variance and accelerate convergence. To better reflect real-world complexity, we introduce UnifyBench++, featuring denser textual descriptions and richer user contexts. Experimental results demonstrate that Sync-R1 achieves state-of-the-art performance, showcasing superior cross-task reasoning and robust personalization without requiring complex cold-start procedures. VGGT-Edit: Feed-forward Native 3D Scene Editing with Residual Field Prediction

High-quality 3D scene reconstruction has recently advanced toward generalizable feed-forward architectures, enabling the generation of complex environments in a single forward pass. However, despite their strong performance in static scene perception, these models remain limited in responding to dynamic human instructions, which restricts their use in interactive applications. Existing editing methods typically rely on a 2D-lifting strategy, where individual views are edited independently and then lifted back into 3D space. This indirect pipeline often leads to blurry textures and inconsistent geometry, as 2D editors lack the spatial awareness required to preserve structure across viewpoints. To address these limitations, we propose VGGT-Edit, a feed-forward framework for text-conditioned native 3D scene editing. VGGT-Edit introduces depth-synchronized text injection to align semantic guidance with the backbone's spatial poses, ensuring stable instruction grounding. This semantic signal is then processed by a residual transformation head, which directly predicts 3D geometric displacements to deform the scene while preserving background stability. To ensure high-fidelity results, we supervise the framework with a multi-term objective function that enforces geometric accuracy and cross-view consistency. We also construct the DeltaScene Dataset, a large-scale dataset generated through an automated pipeline with 3D agreement filtering to ensure ground-truth quality. Experiments show that VGGT-Edit substantially outperforms 2D-lifting baselines, producing sharper object details, stronger multi-view consistency, and near-instant inference speed. Language-Assisted 3D Scene Understanding

The scale and quality of point cloud datasets constrain the advancement of point cloud learning. Recently, with the development of multi-modal learning, the incorporation of domain-agnostic prior knowledge from other modalities, such as images and text, to assist in point cloud feature learning has been considered a promising avenue. Existing methods have demonstrated the effectiveness of multi-modal contrastive training and feature distillation on point clouds. However, challenges remain, including the requirement for paired triplet data, redundancy and ambiguity in supervised features, and the disruption of the original priors. In this paper, we propose a language-assisted approach to point cloud feature learning (LAST-PCL), enriching semantic concepts through LLMs-based text enrichment. We achieve de-redundancy and feature dimensionality reduction without compromising textual priors by statistical-based and training-free significant feature selection. Furthermore, we also delve into an in-depth analysis of the impact of text contrastive training on the point cloud. Extensive experiments validate that the proposed method learns semantically meaningful point cloud features and achieves state-of-the-art or comparable performance in 3D semantic segmentation, 3D object detection, and 3D scene classification tasks.

Distillation with Contrast is All You Need for Self-Supervised Point Cloud Representation Learning

In this paper, we propose a simple and general framework for self-supervised point cloud representation learning. Human beings understand the 3D world by extracting two levels of information and establishing the relationship between them. One is the global shape of an object, and the other is the local structures of it. However, few existing studies in point cloud representation learning explored how to learn both global shapes and local-to-global relationships without a specified network architecture. Inspired by how human beings understand the world, we utilize knowledge distillation to learn both global shape information and the relationship between global shape and local structures. At the same time, we combine contrastive learning with knowledge distillation to make the teacher network be better updated. Our method achieves the state-of-the-art performance on linear classification and multiple other downstream tasks. Especially, we develop a variant of ViT for 3D point cloud feature extraction, which also achieves comparable results with existing backbones when combined with our framework, and visualization of the attention maps show that our model does understand the point cloud by combining the global shape information and multiple local structural information, which is consistent with the inspiration of our representation learning method. DSPoint: Dual-scale Point Cloud Recognition with High-frequency Fusion

Point cloud processing is a challenging task due to its sparsity and irregularity. Prior works introduce delicate designs on either local feature aggregator or global geometric architecture, but few combine both advantages. We propose Dual-Scale Point Cloud Recognition with High-frequency Fusion (DSPoint) to extract local-global features by concurrently operating on voxels and points. We reverse the conventional design of applying convolution on voxels and attention to points. Specifically, we disentangle point features through channel dimension for dual-scale processing: one by point-wise convolution for fine-grained geometry parsing, the other by voxel-wise global attention for long-range structural exploration. We design a co-attention fusion module for feature alignment to blend local-global modalities, which conducts inter-scale cross-modality interaction by communicating high-frequency coordinates information. Experiments and ablations on widely-adopted ModelNet40, ShapeNet, and S3DIS demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of our DSPoint.

Exploring Resolution and Degradation Clues as Self-supervised Signal for Low Quality Object Detection

Image restoration algorithms such as super resolution (SR) are indispensable pre-processing modules for object detection in low quality images. Most of these algorithms assume the degradation is fixed and known a priori. However, in practical, either the real degradation or optimal up-sampling ratio rate is unknown or differs from assumption, leading to a deteriorating performance for both the pre-processing module and the consequent high-level task such as object detection. Here, we propose a novel self-supervised framework to detect objects in degraded low resolution images. We utilizes the downsampling degradation as a kind of transformation for self-supervised signals to explore the equivariant representation against various resolutions and other degradation conditions. The Auto Encoding Resolution in Self-supervision (AERIS) framework could further take the advantage of advanced SR architectures with an arbitrary resolution restoring decoder to reconstruct the original correspondence from the degraded input image. Both the representation learning and object detection are optimized jointly in an end-to-end training fashion. The generic AERIS framework could be implemented on various mainstream object detection architectures with different backbones. The extensive experiments show that our methods has achieved superior performance compared with existing methods when facing variant degradation situations. Frozen CLIP Models are Efficient Video Learners

Video recognition has been dominated by the end-to-end learning paradigm -- first initializing a video recognition model with weights of a pretrained image model and then conducting end-to-end training on videos. This enables the video network to benefit from the pretrained image model. However, this requires substantial computation and memory resources for finetuning on videos and the alternative of directly using pretrained image features without finetuning the image backbone leads to subpar results. Fortunately, recent advances in Contrastive Vision-Language Pre-training (CLIP) pave the way for a new route for visual recognition tasks. Pretrained on large open-vocabulary image-text pair data, these models learn powerful visual representations with rich semantics. In this paper, we present Efficient Video Learning (EVL) -- an efficient framework for directly training high-quality video recognition models with frozen CLIP features. Specifically, we employ a lightweight Transformer decoder and learn a query token to dynamically collect frame-level spatial features from the CLIP image encoder. Furthermore, we adopt a local temporal module in each decoder layer to discover temporal clues from adjacent frames and their attention maps. We show that despite being efficient to train with a frozen backbone, our models learn high quality video representations on a variety of video recognition datasets. POS-BERT: Point Cloud One-Stage BERT Pre-Training

Recently, the pre-training paradigm combining Transformer and masked language modeling has achieved tremendous success in NLP, images, and point clouds, such as BERT. However, directly extending BERT from NLP to point clouds requires training a fixed discrete Variational AutoEncoder (dVAE) before pre-training, which results in a complex two-stage method called Point-BERT. Inspired by BERT and MoCo, we propose POS-BERT, a one-stage BERT pre-training method for point clouds. Specifically, we use the mask patch modeling (MPM) task to perform point cloud pre-training, which aims to recover masked patches information under the supervision of the corresponding tokenizer output. Unlike Point-BERT, its tokenizer is extra-trained and frozen. We propose to use the dynamically updated momentum encoder as the tokenizer, which is updated and outputs the dynamic supervision signal along with the training process. Further, in order to learn high-level semantic representation, we combine contrastive learning to maximize the class token consistency between different transformation point clouds. Extensive experiments have demonstrated that POS-BERT can extract high-quality pre-training features and promote downstream tasks to improve performance. Using the pre-training model without any fine-tuning to extract features and train linear SVM on ModelNet40, POS-BERT achieves the state-of-the-art classification accuracy, which exceeds Point-BERT by 3.5\%. In addition, our approach has significantly improved many downstream tasks, such as fine-tuned classification, few-shot classification, part segmentation. Tip-Adapter: Training-free Adaption of CLIP for Few-shot Classification

Contrastive Vision-Language Pre-training, known as CLIP, has provided a new paradigm for learning visual representations using large-scale image-text pairs. It shows impressive performance on downstream tasks by zero-shot knowledge transfer. To further enhance CLIP's adaption capability, existing methods proposed to fine-tune additional learnable modules, which significantly improves the few-shot performance but introduces extra training time and computational resources. In this paper, we propose a training-free adaption method for CLIP to conduct few-shot classification, termed as Tip-Adapter, which not only inherits the training-free advantage of zero-shot CLIP but also performs comparably to those training-required approaches. Tip-Adapter constructs the adapter via a key-value cache model from the few-shot training set, and updates the prior knowledge encoded in CLIP by feature retrieval. On top of that, the performance of Tip-Adapter can be further boosted to be state-of-the-art on ImageNet by fine-tuning the cache model for 10$\times$ fewer epochs than existing methods, which is both effective and efficient. We conduct extensive experiments of few-shot classification on 11 datasets to demonstrate the superiority of our proposed methods. Code is released at https://github.com/gaopengcuhk/Tip-Adapter.
