Sharp weighted inequalities for iterated commutators of a class of multilinear operators

In this paper, the sharp quantitative weighted bounds for the iterated commutators of a class of multilinear operators were systematically studied. This class of operators contains multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators, multilinear Fourier integral operators, and multilinear Littlewood-Paley square operators as its typical examples. These were done only under two pretty much general assumptions of pointwise sparse domination estimates. We first established local decay estimates and quantitative weak $A_\infty$ decay estimates for iterated commutators of this class of operators. Then, we considered the corresponding Coifman-Fefferman inequalities and the mixed weak type estimates associated with Sawyer's conjecture. Beyond that, the Fefferman-Stein inequalities with respect to arbitrary weights and weighted modular inequalities were also given. As applications, it was shown that all the conclusions aforementioned can be applied to multilinear $ω$-Calderón-Zygmund operators, multilinear maximal singular integral operators, multilinear pseudo-differential operators, Stein's square functions, and higher order Calderón commutators.

On the boundedness of non-standard rough singular integral operators

Let $Ω$ be homogeneous of degree zero, have vanishing moment of order one on the unit sphere $\mathbb {S}^{d-1}$($d\ge 2$). In this paper, our object of investigation is the following rough non-standard singular integral operator $$T_{Ω,\,A}f(x)={\rm p.\,v.}\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}\frac{Ω(x-y)}{|x-y|^{d+1}}\big(A(x)-A(y)-\nabla A(y)(x-y)\big)f(y){\rm d}y,$$ where $A$ is a function defined on $\mathbb{R}^d$ with derivatives of order one in ${\rm BMO}(\mathbb{R}^d)$. We show that $T_{Ω,\,A}$ enjoys the endpoint $L\log L$ type estimate and is $L^p$ bounded if $Ω\in L(\log L)^{2}(\mathbb{S}^{d-1})$. These resuts essentially improve the previous known results given by Hofmann for the $L^p$ boundedness of $T_{Ω,\,A}$ under the condition $Ω\in L^{q}(\mathbb {S}^{d-1})$ $(q>1)$, Hu and Yang for the endpoint weak $L\log L$ type estimates when $Ω\in {\rm Lip}_α(\mathbb{S}^{d-1})$ for some $α\in (0,\,1]$. Quantitative weighted strong and endpoint weak $L\log L$ type inequalities are proved whenever $Ω\in L^{\infty}(\mathbb {S}^{d-1})$. The analysis of the weighted results relies heavily on two bilinear sparse dominations of $T_{Ω,\,A}$ established herein.

On weighted Compactness of Commutators of square function and semi-group maximal function associated to Schrodinger operator

In this paper, the object of our investigation is the following Littlewood-Paley square function $g$ associated with the Schrödinger operator $L=-Δ+V$ which is defined by: $g(f)(x)=\Big(\int_{0}^{\infty}\Big|\frac{d}{dt}e^{-tL}(f)(x)\Big|^2tdt\Big)^{1/2},$ where $Δ$ is the laplacian operator on $\mathbb{R}^n$ and $V$ is a nonnegative potential. We show that the commutators of $g$ are compact operators from $L^p(w)$ to $L^p(w)$ for $1<p<\infty$ if $b\in {\rm CMO}_θ(ρ)$ and $w\in A_p^{ρ,θ}$, where ${\rm CMO}_θ(ρ)$ is the closure of $\mathcal{C}_c^\infty(\mathbb{R}^n)$ in the ${\rm BMO}_θ(ρ)$ topology which is more larger than the classical ${\rm CMO}$ space and $A_p^{ρ,θ}$ is a weights class which is more larger than Muckenhoupt $A_p$ weight class. An extra weight condition in a privious weighted compactness result is removed for the commutators of the semi-group maximal function defined by $\mathcal{T}^*(f)(x)=\sup_{t>0}|e^{-tL}f(x)|.$

On weighted Compactness of Commutator of semi-group maximal function associated to Schrödinger operators

Let $\mathcal{T}^*$ be the semi-group maximal function associated to the Schrödinger operator $-Δ+V(x)$ with $V$ satisfying an appropriate reverse Hölder inequality. In this paper, we show that the commutator of $\mathcal{T}^*$ is a compact operator on $L^p(w)$ for $1<p<\infty$ if $b\in \text{CMO}_θ(ρ)(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and $w\in A_p^{ρ,θ}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. Here $\text{ CMO}_θ(ρ)(\mathbb{R}^n)$ denotes the closure of $\mathcal{C}_c^\infty(\mathbb{R}^n)$ in the $\text{BMO}_θ(ρ)(\mathbb{R}^n)$ (which is larger than the classical $\text{BMO}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ space) topology. The space where $b$ belongs and the weighs class $w$ belongs are more larger than the usual $\text{CMO}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ space and the Muckenhoupt $A_p$ weights class, respectively.

Multilinear Littlewood-Paley-Stein Operators on Non-homogeneous Spaces

Let $κ\ge 2, λ> 1$ and define the multilinear Littlewood-Paley-Stein operators by $$g_{λ,μ}^*(\vec{f})(x) = \bigg(\iint_{\mathbb{R}^{n+1}_{+}} \vartheta_t(x, y) \bigg|\int_{\mathbb{R}^{n κ}} s_t(y,\vec{z}) \prod_{i=1}^κ f_i(z_i) \ dμ(z_i)\bigg|^2 \frac{dμ(y) dt}{t^{m+1}}\bigg)^{\frac12}, $$ where $\vartheta_t(x, y)=\big(\frac{t}{t + |x - y|}\big)^{m λ}$. In this paper, our main aim is to investigate the boundedness of $g_{λ,μ}^*$ on non-homogeneous spaces. By means of probabilistic and dyadic techniques, together with non-homogeneous analysis, we show that $g_{λ,μ}^*$ is bounded from $L^{p_1}(μ) \times \cdots \times L^{p_κ}(μ)$ to $L^p(μ)$ under certain weak type assumptions. The multilinear non-convolution type kernels $s_t$ only need to satisfy some weaker conditions than the standard conditions of multilinear Calderón-Zygmund type kernels and the measures $μ$ are only assumed to be upper doubling measures (non-doubling). The above results are new even under Lebesgue measures. This was done by considering first a sufficient condition for the strong type boundedness of $g_{λ,μ}^*$ based on an endpoint assumption, and then directly deduce the strong bound on a big piece from the weak type assumptions.

Sparse domination and weighted estimates for rough bilinear singular integrals

Let $r>\frac{4}{3}$ and let $Ω\in L^{r}(\mathbb{S}^{2n-1})$ have vanishing integral. We show that the bilinear rough singular integral $$T_Ω(f,g)(x)= \textrm{p.v.} \int_{\mathbb{R}^n}\int_{\mathbb{R}^n}\frac{Ω((y,z)/|(y,z)|)}{|(y,z)|^{2n}}f(x-y)g(x-z)\,dydz,$$ satisfies a sparse bound by $(p,p,p)$-averages, where $p$ is bigger than a certain number explicitly related to $r$ and $n$. As a consequence we deduce certain quantitative weighted estimates for bilinear homogeneous singular integrals associated with rough homogeneous kernels.

XMO and Weighted Compact Bilinear Commutators

To study the compactness of bilinear commutators of certain bilinear Calderón--Zygmund operators which include (inhomogeneous) Coifman--Meyer bilinear Fourier multipliers and bilinear pseudodifferential operators as special examples, Torres and Xue [Rev. Mat. Iberoam. 36 (2020), 939--956] introduced a new subspace of BMO$\,(\mathbb{R}^n)$, denoted by XMO$\,(\mathbb{R}^n)$, and conjectured that it is just the space VMO$\,(\mathbb{R}^n)$ introduced by D. Sarason. In this article, the authors give a negative answer to this conjecture by establishing an equivalent characterization of XMO$\,(\mathbb{R}^n)$, which further clarifies that XMO$\,(\mathbb{R}^n)$ is a proper subspace of VMO$\,(\mathbb{R}^n)$. This equivalent characterization of XMO$\,(\mathbb{R}^n)$ is formally similar to the corresponding one of CMO$\,(\mathbb{R}^n)$ obtained by A. Uchiyama, but its proof needs some essential new techniques on dyadic cubes as well as some exquisite geometrical observations. As an application, the authors also obtain a weighted compactness result on such bilinear commutators, which optimizes the corresponding result in the unweighted setting.

$L^p$ boundedness of non-homogeneous Littlewood-Paley $g^*_{λ,μ}$-function with non-doubling measures

It is well-known that the $L^p$ boundedness and weak $(1,1)$ estiamte $(λ>2)$ of the classical Littlewood-Paley $g_λ^{*}$-function was first studied by Stein, and the weak $(p,p)$ $(p>1)$ estimate was later given by Fefferman for $λ=2/p$. In this paper, we investigated the $L^p(μ)$ boundedness of the non-homogeneous Littlewood-Paley $g_{λ,μ}^{*}$-function with non-convolution type kernels and a power bounded measure $μ$: $$ g_{λ,μ}^*(f)(x) = \bigg(\iint_{{\mathbb R}^{n+1}_{+}} \Big(\frac{t}{t + |x - y|}\Big)^{m λ} |θ_t^μf(y)|^2 \frac{dμ(y) dt}{t^{m+1}}\bigg)^{1/2},\ x \in {\mathbb R}^n,\ λ> 1, $$ where $θ_t^μf(y) = \int_{{\mathbb R}^n} s_t(y,z) f(z) dμ(z)$, and $s_t$ is a non-convolution type kernel. Based on a big piece prior boundedness, we first gave a sufficient condition for the $L^p(μ)$ boundedness of $g_{λ,μ}^*$. This was done by means of the non-homogeneous good lambda method. Then, using the methods of dyadic analysis, we demonstrated a big piece global $Tb$ theorem. Finally, we obtaind a sufficient and necessary condition for $L^p(μ)$ boundedness of $g_{λ,μ}^*$-function. It is worth noting that our testing conditions are weak $(1,1)$ type with respect to measures.

A Revisit on Commutators of linear and bilinear Fractional Integral Operator

Let $I_α$ be the linear and $\mathcal{I}_α$ be the bilinear fractional integral operators. In the linear setting, it is known that the two-weight inequality holds for the first order commutators of $I_α$. But the method can't be used to obtain the two weighted norm inequality for the higher order commutators of $I_α$. In this paper, we first give an alternative proof for the first order commutators of $I_α$. This new approach allows us to consider the higher order commutators. This was done by showing that the commutator $[b,I_α]$ can be represented as a finite linear combination of some paraproducts. Then, by using the Cauchy integral theorem, we show that the two-weight inequality holds for the higher order commutators of $I_α$. In the bilinear setting, we present a dyadic proof for the characterization between $BMO$ and the boundedness of $[b,\mathcal{I}_α]$. Moreover, some bilinear paraproducts are also treated in order to obtain the boundedness of $[b,\mathcal{I}_α]$.

Boundedness of Bi-parameter Littlewood-Paley operators on product Hardy space

Let $n_1,n_2\ge 1, λ_1>1$ and $λ_2>1$. For any $x=(x_1,x_2) \in \mathbb {R}^n\times\mathbb{R}^m$, let $g$ and $g_{\vecλ}^*$ be the bi-parameter Littlewood-Paley square functions defined by \begin{align*} g(f)(x)= \Big(\int_0^{\infty}\int_0^{\infty}|θ_{t_1,t_2} f(x_1,x_2)|^2 \frac{dt_1}{t_1} \frac{dt_2}{t_2} \Big)^{1/2}, \hbox{and} \end{align*} $$ g_{\vecλ}^*(f)(x) = \Big(\iint_{\mathbb{R}^{m+1}_{+}} \iint_{\mathbb{R}^{n+1}_{+}} \prod_{i=1}^2\Big(\frac{t_1}{t_i + |x_i - y_i|}\Big)^{n_i λ_i} |θ_{t_1,t_2} f(y_1,y_2)|^2 \frac{dy_1 dt_1}{t_1^{n+1}} \frac{dy_2 dt_2}{t_2^{m+1}} \Big)^{1/2}, $$ \noindent where $θ_{t_1,t_2} f(x_1, x_2) = \iint_{\mathbb{R}^n\times\mathbb{R}^m} s_{t_1,t_2}(x_1,x_2,y_1,y_2)f(y_1,y_2) dy_1dy_2$. It is known that the $L^2$ boundedness of bi-parameter $g$ and $g_{\vecλ}^*$ have been established recently by Martikainen, and Cao, Xue, respectively. In this paper, under certain structure conditions assumed on the kernel $s_{t_1,t_2},$ we show that both $g$ and $g_{\vecλ}^*$ are bounded from product Hardy space $H^1(\mathbb{R}^n\times\mathbb{R}^m)$ to $L^1(\mathbb{R}^n\times\mathbb{R}^m)$. As consequences, the $L^p$ boundedness of $g$ and $g_{\vecλ}^*$ will be obtained for $1<p<2$.

Endpoint estimates for the commutators of multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators with Dini type kernels

Let $T_{\vec{b}}$ and $T_{Πb}$ be the commutators in the $j$-th entry and iterated commutators of the multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators, respectively. It was well-known that $T_{\vec{b}}$ and $T_{Πb}$ were not of weak type $(1,1)$ and $(H^1, L^1)$, but they did satisfy certain endpoint $L\log L$ type estimates. In this paper, our aim is to give more natural sharp endpoint results. We show that $T_{\vec{b}}$ and $T_{Πb}$ are bounded from product Hardy space $H^1\times\cdot\cdot\cdot\times H^1$ to weak $L^{\frac{1}{m},\infty}$ space, whenever the kernel satisfies a class of Dini type condition. This was done by using a key lemma given by M. Christ, a very complex decomposition of the integrand domains and splitting and estimating the commutators very carefully into several terms and cases.

Non-homogeneous $Tb$ Theorem for Bi-parameter $g$-Function

The main result of this paper is a bi-parameter $Tb$ theorem for Littlewood-Paley $g$-function, where $b$ is a tensor product of two pseudo-accretive functions. Instead of the doubling measure, we work with a product measure $μ= μ_n \times μ_m$, where the measures $μ_n$ and $μ_m$ are only assumed to be upper doubling. The main techniques of the proof include a bi-parameter $b$-adapted Haar function decomposition and an averaging identity over good double Whitney regions. Moreover, the non-homogeneous analysis and probabilistic methods are used again.

On the bilinear square Fourier multiplier operators and related multilinear square functions

Let $n\ge 1$ and $\mathfrak{T}_{m}$ be the bilinear square Fourier multiplier operator associated with a symbol $m$, which is defined by $$ \mathfrak{T}_{m}(f_1,f_2)(x) = \biggl( \int_{0}^\infty\Big|\int_{(\mathbb{R}^n)^2} e^{2πix\cdot (ξ_1 +ξ_2) }m(tξ_1,tξ_2) \hat{f}_{1}(ξ_1)\hat{f}_{2}(ξ_2)dξ_1 dξ_2\Big|^2\frac{dt}{t } \biggr)^{\frac 12}. $$ Let $s$ be an integer with $s\in[n+1,2n]$ and $p_0$ be a number satisfying $2n/s\le p_0\le 2$. Suppose that $ν_{\vecω}=\prod_{i=1}^2ω_i^{p/ p_i}$ and each $ω_i$ is a nonnegative function on $\mathbb{R}^n$. In this paper, we show that $\mathfrak{T}_{m}$ is bounded from $L^{p_1}(ω_1)\times L^{p_2}(ω_2)$ to $L^p(ν_{\vecω})$ if $p_0< p_1, p_2<\infty$ with $1/p=1/p_1+ 1/p_2$. Moreover, if $p_0>2n/s$ and $p_1=p_0$ or $p_2=p_0$, then $\mathfrak{T}_{m}$ is bounded from $L^{p_1}(ω_1)\times L^{p_2}(ω_2)$ to $L^{p,\infty}(ν_{\vecω})$. The weighted end-point $L\log L$ type estimate and strong estimate for the commutators of $\mathfrak{T}_{m}$ are also given. These were done by considering the boundedness of some related multilinear square functions associated with mild regularity kernels and essentially improving some basic lemmas which have been used before.

A non-homogeneous local $Tb$ theorem for Littlewood-Paley $g_λ^{*}$-function with $L^p$-testing condition

In this paper, we present a local $Tb$ theorem for the non-homogeneous Littlewood-Paley $g_λ^{*}$-function with non-convolution type kernels and upper power bound measure $μ$. We show that, under the assumptions $\supp b_Q \subset Q$, $|\int_Q b_Q dμ| \gtrsim μ(Q)$ and $||b_Q||^p_{L^p(μ)} \lesssim μ(Q)$, the norm inequality $\big\| g_λ^{*}(f) \big\|_{L^p(μ)} \lesssim \big\| f \big\|_{L^p(μ)}$ holds if and only if the following testing condition holds : $$\sup_{Q : cubes \ in \ \Rn} \frac{1}{μ(Q)}\int_Q \bigg(\int_{0}^{\ell(Q)} \int_{\Rn} \Big(\frac{t}{t+|x-y|}\Big)^{mλ}|θ_t(b_Q)(y,t)|^2 \frac{dμ(y) dt}{t^{m+1}}\bigg)^{p/2} dμ(x) < \infty.$$ This is the first time to investigate $g_λ^*$-function in the simultaneous presence of three attributes : local, non-homogeneous and $L^p$-testing condition. It is important to note that the testing condition here is $L^p$ type with $p \in (1,2]$.

Certain Multi(sub)linear square functions

Let $d\ge 1, \ell\in\Z^d$, $m\in \mathbb Z^+$ and $θ_i$, $i=1,\dots,m $ are fixed, distinct and nonzero real numbers. We show that the $m$-(sub)linear version below of the Ratnakumar and Shrivastava \cite{RS1} Littlewood-Paley square function $$T(f_1,\dots , f_m)(x)=\Big(\sum\limits_{\ell\in\Z^d}|\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}f_1(x-θ_1 y)\cdots f_m(x-θ_m y)e^{2πi \ell \cdot y}K (y)dy|^2\Big)^{1/2} $$ is bounded from $L^{p_1}(\mathbb{R}^d) \times\cdots\times L^{p_m}(\mathbb{R}^d) $ to $L^p(\mathbb{R}^d) $ when $2\le p_i<\infty$ satisfy $1/p=1/p_1+\cdots+1/p_m$ and $1\le p<\infty$. Our proof is based on a modification of an inequality of Guliyev and Nazirova \cite{GN} concerning multilinear convolutions.

On multilinear fractional strong maximal operator associated with rectangles and multiple weights

In this paper, the multilinear fractional strong maximal operator $\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R},α}$ associated with rectangles and corresponding multiple weights $A_{(\vec{p},q),\mathcal{R}}$ are introduced. Under the dyadic reverse doubling condition, a necessary and sufficient condition for two-weight inequalities is given. As consequences, we first obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for one-weight inequalities. Then, we give a new proof for the weighted estimates of multilinear fractional maximal operator $\mathcal{M}_α$ associated with cubes and multilinear fractional integral operator $\mathcal{I}_α$, which is quite different and simple from the proof known before.

In this paper, we showed that the bi-parameter Littlewood-Paley function $g_{λ_1,λ_2}^*$ was bounded from $L^2(\R^{n+m})$ to $L^2(\R^{n+m})$. This was done by means of probabilistic methods and by using a new averaging identity over good double Whitney regions.

On the Boundedness of Multilinear Fractional Strong Maximal Operator with multiple weights

In this paper, we investigated the boundedness of multilinear fractional strong maximal operator $\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R},α}$ associated with rectangles or related to more general basis with multiple weights $A_{(\vec{p},q),\mathcal{R}}$. In the rectangles setting, we first gave an end-point estimate of $\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R},α}$, which not only extended the famous linear result of Jessen, Marcinkiewicz and Zygmund, but also extended the multilinear result of Grafakos, Liu, Pérez and Torres ($α=0$) to the case $0<α<mn.$ Then, in one weight case, we gave several equivalent characterizations between $\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R},α}$ and $A_{(\vec{p},q),\mathcal{R}}$, by applying a different approach from what we have used before. Moreover, a sufficient condition for the two weighted norm inequality of $\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R},α}$ was presented and a version of vector-valued two weighted inequality for the strong maximal operator was established when $m=1$. In the general basis setting, we further studied the properties of the multiple weights $A_{(\vec{p},q),\mathcal{R}}$ conditions, including the equivalent characterizations and monotonic properties, which essentially extended one's previous understanding. Finally, a survey on multiple strong Muckenhoupt weights was given, which demonstrates the properties of multiple weights related to rectangles systematically.

Smoothness of Extremizers of a Convolution Inequality

Let $d\ge 2$ and $T$ be the convolution operator $Tf(x)=\int_{\reals^{d-1}} f(x'-t,x_d-|t|^2)\,dt$, which is is bounded from $L^{(d+1)/d}(\reals^d)$ to $L^{d+1}(\reals^d)$. We show that any critical point $f\in L^{(d+1)/d}$ of the functional $\norm{Tf}_{d+1}/\norm{f}_{(d+1)/d}$ is infinitely differentiable, and that $|x|^δf\in L^{(d+1)/d}$ for some $δ>0$. In particular, this holds for all extremizers of the associated inequality. This is done by exploiting a generalized Euler-Lagrange equation, and certain weighted norm inequalities for $T$.
