Stampedes I: Fishnet OPE and Octagon Bootstrap with Nonzero Bridges

Some quantities in quantum field theory are dominated by so-called $\mathit{leading\,logs}$ and can be re-summed to all loop orders. In this work we introduce a notion of $\mathit{stampede}$ which is a simple time-evolution of a bunch of particles which start their life in a corner - on the very right say - and $\mathit{hop}$ their way to the opposite corner - on the left - through the repeated action of a quantum Hamiltonian. Such stampedes govern leading logs quantities in certain quantum field theories. The leading euclidean OPE limit of correlation functions in the fishnet theory and null double-scaling limits of correlators in $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM are notable examples. As an application, we use these results to extend the beautiful bootstrap program of Coronado [1] to all octagons functions with arbitrary diagonal bridge length.

The Wilson Loop -- Large Spin OPE Dictionary

We work out the map between null polygonal hexagonal Wilson loops and spinning three point functions in large $N$ conformal gauge theories by mapping the variables describing the two different physical quantities and by working out the precise normalization factors entering this duality. By fixing all the kinematics we open the ground for a precise study of the dynamics underlying these dualities -- most notably through integrability in the case of planar maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory.

Flux Tube S-matrix Bootstrap

We bootstrap the S-matrix of massless particles in unitary, relativistic two dimensional quantum field theories. We find that the low energy expansion of such S-matrices is strongly constrained by the existence of a UV completion. In the context of flux tube physics, this allows us to constrain several terms in the S-matrix low energy expansion or -- equivalently -- on Wilson coefficients of several irrelevant operators showing up in the flux tube effective action. These bounds have direct implications for other physical quantities; for instance, they allow us to further bound the ground state energy as well as the level splitting of degenerate energy levels of large flux tubes. We find that the S-matrices living at the boundary of the allowed space exhibit an intricate pattern of resonances with one sharper resonance whose quantum numbers, mass and width are precisely those of the world-sheet axion proposed in [1,2]. The general method proposed here should be extendable to massless S-matrices in higher dimensions and should lead to new quantitative bounds on irrelevant operators in theories of Goldstones and also in gauge and gravity theories.

Large $p$ explorations. From SUGRA to big STRINGS in Mellin space

We explore a new way of probing scattering of closed strings in $AdS_5\times S^5$, which we call `the large $p$ limit'. It consists of studying four-point correlators of single-particle operators in $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM at large $N$ and large 't Hooft coupling $λ$, by looking at the regime in which the dual KK modes become short massive strings. In this regime the charge of the single-particle operators is order $λ^{1/4}$ and the dual KK modes are in between fields and strings. Starting from SUGRA we compute the large $p$ limit of the correlators by introducing an improved $AdS_5\times S^5$ Mellin space amplitude, and we show that the correlator is dominated by a saddle point. Our results are consistent with the picture of four geodesics shooting from the boundary of $AdS_5\times S^5$ towards a common bulk point, where they scatter as if they were in flat space. The Mandelstam invariants are put in correspondence with the Mellin variables and in turn with certain combinations of cross ratios. At the saddle point the dynamics of the correlator is directly related to the bulk Mellin amplitude, which in the process of taking large $p$ becomes the flat space ten-dimensional S-matrix. We thus learn how to embed the full type IIB S-matrix in the $AdS_5\times S^5$ Mellin amplitude, and how to stratify the latter in a large $p$ expansion. We compute the large $p$ limit of all genus zero data currently available, pointing out additional hidden simplicity of known results. We then show that the genus zero resummation at large $p$ naturally leads to the Gross-Mende phase for the minimal area surface around the bulk point. At one-loop, we first uncover a novel and finite Mellin amplitude, and then we show that the large $p$ limit beautifully asymptotes the gravitational S-matrix.

SUSY S-matrix Bootstrap and Friends

We consider the 2D S-matrix bootstrap in the presence of supersymmetry, $\mathbb{Z}_2$ and $\mathbb{Z}_4$ symmetry. At the boundary of the allowed S-matrix space we encounter well known integrable models such as the supersymmetric sine-Gordon and restricted sine-Gordon models, novel elliptic deformations thereof, as well as a two parameter family of $\mathbb{Z}_4$ elliptic S-matrices previously proposed by Zamolodchikov. We highlight an intricate web of relations between these various S-matrices.

The O(N) S-matrix Monolith

We consider the scattering matrices of massive quantum field theories with no bound states and a global $O(N)$ symmetry in two spacetime dimensions. In particular we explore the space of two-to-two S-matrices of particles of mass $m$ transforming in the vector representation as restricted by the general conditions of unitarity, crossing, analyticity and $O(N)$ symmetry. We found a rich structure in that space by using convex maximization and in particular its convex dual minimization problem. At the boundary of the allowed space special geometric points such as vertices were found to correspond to integrable models. The dual convex minimization problem provides a novel and useful approach to the problem allowing, for example, to prove that generically the S-matrices so obtained saturate unitarity and, in some cases, that they are at vertices of the allowed space.

The S-matrix Bootstrap IV: Multiple Amplitudes

We explore the space of consistent three-particle couplings in $\mathbb Z_2$-symmetric two-dimensional QFTs using two first-principles approaches. Our first approach relies solely on unitarity, analyticity and crossing symmetry of the two-to-two scattering amplitudes and extends the techniques of [arXiv:1607.06110] to a multi-amplitude setup. Our second approach is based on placing QFTs in AdS to get upper bounds on couplings with the numerical conformal bootstrap, and is a multi-correlator version of [arXiv:1607.06109]. The space of allowed couplings that we carve out is rich in features, some of which we can link to amplitudes in integrable theories with a $\mathbb Z_2$ symmetry, e.g., the three-state Potts and tricritical Ising field theories. Along a specific line our maximal coupling agrees with that of a new exact S-matrix that corresponds to an elliptic deformation of the supersymmetric Sine-Gordon model which preserves unitarity and solves the Yang-Baxter equation.

Finding Hamilton cycles in random graphs with few queries

We introduce a new setting of algorithmic problems in random graphs, studying the minimum number of queries one needs to ask about the adjacency between pairs of vertices of ${\mathcal G}(n,p)$ in order to typically find a subgraph possessing a given target property. We show that if $p\geq \frac{\ln n+\ln\ln n+ω(1)}{n}$, then one can find a Hamilton cycle with high probability after exposing $(1+o(1))n$ edges. Our result is tight in both $p$ and the number of exposed edges.

Finding paths in sparse random graphs requires many queries

We discuss a new algorithmic type of problem in random graphs studying the minimum number of queries one has to ask about adjacency between pairs of vertices of a random graph $G\sim {\mathcal G}(n,p)$ in order to find a subgraph which possesses some target property with high probability. In this paper we focus on finding long paths in $G\sim \mathcal G(n,p)$ when $p=\frac{1+\varepsilon}{n}$ for some fixed constant $\varepsilon>0$. This random graph is known to have typically linearly long paths. To have $\ell$ edges with high probability in $G\sim \mathcal G(n,p)$ one clearly needs to query at least $Ω\left(\frac{\ell}{p}\right)$ pairs of vertices. Can we find a path of length $\ell$ economically, i.e., by querying roughly that many pairs? We argue that this is not possible and one needs to query significantly more pairs. We prove that any randomised algorithm which finds a path of length $\ell=Ω\left(\frac{\log\left(\frac{1}{\varepsilon}\right)}{\varepsilon}\right)$ with at least constant probability in $G\sim \mathcal G(n,p)$ with $p=\frac{1+\varepsilon}{n}$ must query at least $Ω\left(\frac{\ell}{p\varepsilon \log\left(\frac{1}{\varepsilon}\right)}\right)$ pairs of vertices. This is tight up to the $\log\left(\frac{1}{\varepsilon}\right)$ factor.

OPE for all Helicity Amplitudes II. Form Factors and Data Analysis

We present the general flux tube integrand for MHV and non-MHV amplitudes, in planar N = 4 SYM theory, up to a group theoretical rational factor. We find that the MHV and non-MHV cases only differ by simple form factors which we derive. This information allows us to run the operator product expansion program for all sorts of non-MHV amplitudes and to test the recently proposed map with the so called charged pentagons transitions. Perfect agreement is found, on a large sample of non-MHV amplitudes, with the perturbative data available in the literature.

Two remarks on even and oddtown problems

A family $\mathcal A$ of subsets of an $n$-element set is called an eventown (resp. oddtown) if all its sets have even (resp. odd) size and all pairwise intersections have even size. Using tools from linear algebra, it was shown by Berlekamp and Graver that the maximum size of an eventown is $2^{\left\lfloor n/2\right\rfloor}$. On the other hand (somewhat surprisingly), it was proven by Berlekamp, that oddtowns have size at most $n$. Over the last four decades, many extensions of this even/oddtown problem have been studied. In this paper we present new results on two such extensions. First, extending a result of Vu, we show that a $k$-wise eventown (i.e., intersections of $k$ sets are even) has for $k \geq 3$ a unique extremal configuration and obtain a stability result for this problem. Next we improve some known bounds for the defect version of an $\ell$-oddtown problem. In this problem we consider sets of size $\not\equiv 0 \pmod \ell$ where $\ell$ is a prime number $\ell$ (not necessarily $2$) and allow a few pairwise intersections to also have size $\not\equiv 0 \pmod \ell$.

Almost-Fisher families

A classic theorem in combinatorial design theory is Fisher's inequality, which states that a family $\mathcal F$ of subsets of $[n]$ with all pairwise intersections of size $λ$ can have at most $n$ non-empty sets. One may weaken the condition by requiring that for every set in $\mathcal F$, all but at most $k$ of its pairwise intersections have size $λ$. We call such families $k$-almost $λ$-Fisher. Vu was the first to study the maximum size of such families, proving that for $k=1$ the largest family has $2n-2$ sets, and characterising when equality is attained. We substantially refine his result, showing how the size of the maximum family depends on $λ$. In particular we prove that for small $λ$ one essentially recovers Fisher's bound. We also solve the next open case of $k=2$ and obtain the first non-trivial upper bound for general $k$.

Gluing Hexagons at Three Loops

We perform extensive three-loop tests of the hexagon bootstrap approach for structure constants in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM theory. We focus on correlators involving two BPS operators and one non-BPS operator in the so-called $SL(2)$ sector. At three loops, such correlators receive wrapping corrections from mirror excitations flowing in either the adjacent or the opposing channel. Amusingly, we find that the first type of correction coincides exactly with the leading wrapping correction for the spectrum (divided by the one-loop anomalous dimension). We develop an efficient method for computing the second type of correction for operators with any spin. The results are in perfect agreement with the recently obtained three-loop perturbative data by Chicherin, Drummond, Heslop, Sokatchev [2] and by Eden [3]. We also derive the integrand for general multi-particle wrapping corrections, which turns out to take a remarkably simple form. As an application we estimate the loop order at which various new physical effects are expected to kick-in.

Structure Constants and Integrable Bootstrap in Planar N=4 SYM Theory

We introduce a non-perturbative framework for computing structure constants of single-trace operators in the N=4 SYM theory at large N. Our approach features new vertices, with hexagonal shape, that can be patched together into three- and possibly higher-point correlators. These newborn hexagons are more elementary and easier to deal with than the three-point functions. Moreover, they can be entirely constructed using integrability, by means of a suitable bootstrap program. In this letter, we present our main results and conjectures for these vertices, and match their predictions for the three-point functions with both weak and strong coupling data available in the literature.

On the collinear limit of scattering amplitudes at strong coupling

In this letter we consider the collinear limit of gluon scattering amplitudes in planar N=4 SYM theory at strong coupling. We argue that in this limit scattering amplitudes map into correlators of twist fields in the two dimensional non-linear O(6) sigma model, similar to those appearing in recent studies of entanglement entropy. We provide evidence for this assertion by combining the intuition springing from the string worldsheet picture and the predictions coming from the OPE series. One of the main implications of these considerations is that scattering amplitudes receive equally important contributions at strong coupling from both the minimal string area and its fluctuations in the sphere.

OPE for all Helicity Amplitudes

We extend the Operator Product Expansion (OPE) for scattering amplitudes in planar N=4 SYM to account for all possible helicities of the external states. This is done by constructing a simple map between helicity configurations and so-called charged pentagon transitions. These OPE building blocks are generalizations of the bosonic pentagons entering MHV amplitudes and they can be bootstrapped at finite coupling from the integrable dynamics of the color flux tube. A byproduct of our map is a simple realization of parity in the super Wilson loop picture.

Space-time S-matrix and Flux tube S-matrix II. Extracting and Matching Data

We elaborate on a non-perturbative formulation of scattering amplitudes/null polygonal Wilson loops in planar N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory. The construction is based on a decomposition of the Wilson loop into elementary building blocks named pentagon transitions. Our discussion expands on a previous letter of the authors where these transitions were introduced and analyzed for the so-called gluonic excitations. In this paper we revisit these transitions and extend the analysis to the sector of scalar excitations. We restrict ourselves to the single particle transitions and bootstrap their finite coupling expressions using a set of axioms. Besides these considerations, the main focus of the paper is on the extraction of perturbative data from scattering amplitudes at weak coupling and its comparison against the proposed pentagon transitions. We present several tests for both the hexagon and heptagon (MHV and NMHV) amplitudes up to two- and three-loop orders. In attached notebooks we provide explicit higher-loop predictions obtained from our method.

Space-time S-matrix and Flux-tube S-matrix III. The two-particle contributions

We consider light-like Wilson loops with hexagonal geometry in the planar limit of N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory. Within the Operator-Product-Expansion framework these loops receive contributions from all states that can propagate on top of the colour flux tube sourced by any two opposite edges of the loops. Of particular interest are the two-particle contributions. They comprise virtual effects like the propagation of a pair of scalars, fermions, and gluons, on top of the flux tube. Each one of them is thoroughly discussed in this paper. Our main result is the prediction of all the twist-2 corrections to the expansion of the dual 6-gluons MHV amplitude in the near-collinear limit at finite coupling. At weak coupling, our result was recently used by Dixon, Drummond, Duhr and Pennington to predict the full amplitude at four loops. At strong coupling, it allows us to make contact with the classical string description and to recover the (previously elusive) AdS(3) mode from the continuum of two-fermion states. More generally, the two-particle contributions serve as an exemplar for all the multi-particle corrections.

Space-time S-matrix and Flux-tube S-matrix IV. Gluons and Fusion

We analyze the pentagon transitions involving arbitrarily many flux-tube gluonic excitations and bound states thereof in planar N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory. We derive all-loop expressions for all these transitions by factorization and fusion of the elementary transitions for the lightest gluonic excitations conjectured in a previous paper. We apply the proposals so obtained to the computation of MHV and NMHV scattering amplitudes at any loop order and find perfect agreement with available perturbative data up to four loops.

Space-time S-matrix and Flux-tube S-matrix at Finite Coupling

We propose a non-perturbative formulation of planar scattering amplitudes in N=4 SYM or, equivalently, polygonal Wilson loops. The construction is based on the OPE approach and introduces a new decomposition of the Wilson loop in terms of fundamental building blocks named Pentagon transitions. These transitions satisfy a simple relation to the worldsheet S-matrix on top of the so called Gubser-Klebanov-Polyakov vacuum which allows us to bootstrap them at any value of the coupling. In this letter we present a subsector of the full solution to scattering amplitudes which we call the gluonic part. We match our results with both weak and strong coupling data available in the literature. For example, the strong coupling Y-system can be understood in this approach.

Tailoring Non-Compact Spin Chains

We study three-point correlation functions of local operators in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM at weak coupling using integrability. We consider correlation functions involving two scalar BPS operators and an operator with spin, in the so called SL(2) sector. At tree level we derive the corresponding structure constant for any such operator. We also conjecture its one loop correction. To check our proposals we analyze the conformal partial wave decomposition of known four-point correlation functions of BPS operators. In perturbation theory, we extract from this decomposition sums of structure constants involving all primaries of a given spin and twist. On the other hand, in our integrable setup these sum rules are computed by summing over all solutions to the Bethe equations. A perfect match is found between the two approaches.

From Polygon Wilson Loops to Spin Chains and Back

Null Polygon Wilson Loops (WL) in N=4 SYM can be computed using the Operator Product Expansion in terms of a transition amplitude on top of a color flux tube (FT). That picture is valid at any value of the 't Hooft coupling. So far it has been efficiently used at weak coupling (WC) in cases where only a single particle is flowing. At any finite value of the coupling however, an infinite number of particles are flowing on top of the color FT. A major open problem in this approach was how to deal with generic multi-particle states at WC. In this paper we study the propagation of any number of FT excitations at WC. We do this by first mapping the WL into a sum of two point functions of local operators. This map allows us to translate the integrability techniques developed for the spectrum problem back to the WL. E.g., the FT Hamiltonian can be represented as a simple kernel acting on the loop. Having an explicit representation for the FT Hamiltonian allows us to treat any number of particles on an equal footing. We use it to bootstrap some simple cases where two particles are flowing, dual to N2MHV amplitudes. The FT is integrable and therefore has other (infinite set of) conserved charges. The generating function of conserved charges is constructed from the monodromy (M) matrix between sides of the polygon. We compute it for some simple examples at leading order at WC. At strong coupling (SC), these Ms were the main ingredients of the Y-system solution. To connect the WC and SC computations, we study a case where an infinite number of particles are propagating already at leading order at WC. We obtain a precise match between the WC and SC Ms. That match is the WL analogue of the well known Frolov-Tseytlin limit where the WC and SC descriptions become identical. Hopefully, putting the WC and SC descriptions on the same footing is the first step in understanding the all loop structure.

Multichannel Conformal Blocks for Polygon Wilson Loops

We introduce the notion of Multichannel Conformal Blocks relevant for the Operator Product Expansion for Null Polygon Wilson loops with more than six edges. As an application of these, we decompose the one loop heptagon Wilson loop and predict the value of its two loop OPE discontinuities. At the functional level, the OPE discontinuities are roughly half of the full result. Using symbols they suffice to predict the full two loop result. We also present several new predictions for the heptagon result at any loop order.

Quantum Integrability for Three-Point Functions

Quantum corrections to three-point functions of scalar single trace operators in planar N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory are studied using integrability. At one loop, we find new algebraic structures that not only govern all two loop corrections to the mixing of the operators but also automatically incorporate all one loop diagrams correcting the tree level Wick contractions. Speculations about possible extensions of our construction to all loop orders are given. We also match our results with the strong coupling predictions in the classical (Frolov-Tseytlin) limit.

Tailoring Three-Point Functions and Integrability IV. Theta-morphism

We compute structure constants in N=4 SYM at one loop using Integrability. This requires having full control over the two loop eigenvectors of the dilatation operator for operators of arbitrary size. To achieve this, we develop an algebraic description called the Theta-morphism. In this approach we introduce impurities at each spin chain site, act with particular differential operators on the standard algebraic Bethe ansatz vectors and generate in this way higher loop eigenvectors. The final results for the structure constants take a surprisingly simple form. For some quantities we conjecture all loop generalizations. These are based on the tree level and one loop patterns together and also on some higher loop experiments involving simple operators.

OPE for Super Loops

We extend the Operator Product Expansion for Null Polygon Wilson loops to the Mason-Skinner-Caron-Huot super loop, dual to non MHV gluon amplitudes. We explain how the known tree level amplitudes can be promoted into an infinite amount of data at any loop order in the OPE picture. As an application, we re-derive all one loop NMHV six gluon amplitudes by promoting their tree level expressions. We also present some new all loops predictions for these amplitudes.

Tailoring Three-Point Functions and Integrability

We use Integrability techniques to compute structure constants in N=4 SYM to leading order. Three closed spin chains, which represent the single trace gauge-invariant operators in N=4 SYM, are cut into six open chains which are then sewed back together into some nice pants, the three-point function. The algebraic and coordinate Bethe ansatz tools necessary for this task are reviewed. Finally, we discuss the classical limit of our results, anticipating some predictions for quasi-classical string correlators in terms of algebraic curves.

Tailoring Three-Point Functions and Integrability II. Weak/strong coupling match

We compute three-point functions of single trace operators in planar N=4 SYM. We consider the limit where one of the operators is much smaller than the other two. We find a precise match between weak and strong coupling in the Frolov-Tseytlin classical limit for a very general class of classical solutions. To achieve this match we clarify the issue of back-reaction and identify precisely which three-point functions are captured by a classical computation.

Tailoring Three-Point Functions and Integrability III. Classical Tunneling

We compute three-point functions between one large classical operator and two large BPS operators at weak coupling. We consider operators made out of the scalars of N=4 SYM, dual to strings moving in the sphere. The three-point function exponentiates and can be thought of as a classical tunneling process in which the classical string-like operator decays into two classical BPS states. From an Integrability/Condensed Matter point of view, we simplified inner products of spin chain Bethe states in a classical limit corresponding to long wavelength excitations above the ferromagnetic vacuum. As a by-product we solved a new long-range Ising model in the thermodynamic limit.

An Operator Product Expansion for Polygonal null Wilson Loops

We consider polygonal Wilson loops with null edges in conformal gauge theories. We derive an OPE-like expansion when several successive lines of the polygon are becoming aligned. The limit corresponds to a collinear, or multicollinear, limit and we explain the systematics of all the subleading corrections, going beyond the leading terms that were previously considered. These subleading corrections are governed by excitations of high spin operators, or excitations of a flux tube that goes between two Wilson lines. The discussion is valid for any conformal gauge theory, for any coupling and in any dimension. For N=4 super Yang Mills we check this expansion at strong coupling and at two loops at weak coupling . We also make predictions for the remainder function at higher loops. In the process, we also derived a new version for the TBA integral equations that determine the strong coupling answer and present the area as the associated Yang-Yang functional.

Integrability for the Full Spectrum of Planar AdS/CFT II

Using the thermodynamical Bethe ansatz method we derive an infinite set of integral non-linear equations for the spectrum of states/operators in AdS/CFT. The Y-system conjectured in arXiv:0901.3753 for the spectrum of all operators in planar N=4 SYM theory follows from these equations. In particular, we present the integral equations for the spectrum of all operators within the sl(2) sector. We prove that all the kernels and free terms entering these TBA equations are real and have nice fusion properties in the relevant mirror kinematics. We find the analogue of DHM formula for the dressing kernel in the mirror kinematics.

Y-system for Scattering Amplitudes

We compute N=4 Super Yang Mills planar amplitudes at strong coupling by considering minimal surfaces in AdS_5 space. The surfaces end on a null polygonal contour at the boundary of AdS. We show how to compute the area of the surfaces as a function of the conformal cross ratios characterizing the polygon at the boundary. We reduce the problem to a simple set of functional equations for the cross ratios as functions of the spectral parameter. These equations have the form of Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz equations. The area is the free energy of the TBA system. We consider any number of gluons and in any kinematic configuration.

Finite Volume Spectrum of 2D Field Theories from Hirota Dynamics

We propose, using the example of the O(4) sigma model, a general method for solving integrable two dimensional relativistic sigma models in a finite size periodic box. Our starting point is the so-called Y-system, which is equivalent to the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations of Yang and Yang. It is derived from the Zamolodchikov scattering theory in the cross channel, for virtual particles along the non-compact direction of the space-time cylinder. The method is based on the integrable Hirota dynamics that follows from the Y-system. The outcome is a nonlinear integral equation for a single complex function, valid for an arbitrary quantum state and accompanied by the finite size analogue of Bethe equations. It is close in spirit to the Destri-deVega (DdV) equation. We present the numerical data for the energy of various states as a function of the size, and derive the general Luscher-type formulas for the finite size corrections. We also re-derive by our method the DdV equation for the SU(2) chiral Gross-Neveu model.

Efficient precision quantization in AdS/CFT

Understanding finite-size effects is one of the key open questions in solving planar AdS/CFT. In this paper we discuss these effects in the AdS_5xS^5 string theory at one-loop in the world-sheet coupling. First we provide a very general, efficient way to compute the fluctuation frequencies, which allows to determine the energy shift for very general multi-cut solutions. Then we apply this to two-cut solutions, in particular the giant magnon and determine the finite-size corrections at subleading order. The latter are then compared to the finite-size corrections from Luscher-Klassen-Melzer formulas and found to be in perfect agreement.

Classical limit of Quantum Sigma-Models from Bethe Ansatz

In these proceedings we review the results of [1-3]. We show on the example of the SU(2) chiral-field how to reproduce the classical finite gap solutions for a large class of integrable sigma models from their exact quantum solutions. These solutions are usually formulated as Bethe ansatz equations for physical particles on a circle, with the interaction given by the factorized S-matrix conjectured from Zamolodchikovs' bootstrap procedure. Our method opens a new systematic way to justify this procedure. As an application of our method to the integrability in AdS/CFT correspondence, we reproduce the asymptotic string Bethe ansatz conjectured eartlier in the S3 x R sector of the Green-Schwarz-Metsaev-Tseytlin superstring. The role of the Virasoro constraints in this setup is clarified.
