Fast QSC Solver: tool for systematic study of N=4 Super-Yang-Mills spectrum

Integrability methods give us access to a number of observables in the planar N=4 SYM. Among them, the Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC) governs the spectrum of anomalous dimensions. Low lying states were successfully studied in the past using the QSC. However, with the increased demand for a systematic study of a large number of states for various applications, there is a clear need for a fast QSC solver which can easily access a large number of excited states. Here, we fill this gap by developing a new algorithm and applied it to study all 219 states with the bare dimension $Δ_0 \leq 6$ in a wide range of couplings. The new algorithm has an improved performance at weak coupling and allows to glue numerics smoothly the available perturbative data, resolving the previous obstruction. Further ~ 8-fold efficiency gain comes from C++ implementation over the best available Mathematica implementation. We have made the code and the data to be available via a GitHub repository. The method is generalisable for non-local observables as well as for other theories such as deformations of N=4 SYM and ABJM. It may find applications in the separation of variables and bootstrability approaches to the correlation functions. Some applications to correlators at strong coupling are also presented.

Bootstrability in Defect CFT: Integrated Correlators and Sharper Bounds

We continue to develop Bootstrability -- a method merging Integrability and Conformal Bootstrap to extract CFT data in integrable conformal gauge theories such as $\mathcal{N}$=4 SYM. In this paper, we consider the 1D defect CFT defined on a $\frac{1}{2}$-BPS Wilson line in the theory, whose non-perturbative spectrum is governed by the Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC). In addition, we use that the deformed setup of a cusped Wilson line is also controlled by the QSC. In terms of the defect CFT, this translates into two nontrivial relations connecting integrated 4-point correlators to cusp spectral data, such as the Bremsstrahlung and Curvature functions -- known analytically from the QSC. Combining these new constraints and the spectrum of the $10$ lowest-lying states with the Numerical Conformal Bootstrap, we obtain very sharp rigorous numerical bounds for the structure constant of the first non-protected state, giving this observable with seven digits precision for the 't Hooft coupling in the intermediate coupling region $\frac{\sqrtλ}{4π}\sim 1$, with the error decreasing quickly at large 't Hooft coupling. Furthermore, for the same structure constant we obtain a $4$-loop analytic result at weak coupling. We also present results for excited states.

Quantum Spectral Curve for AdS$_3$/CFT$_2$: a proposal

We conjecture the Quantum Spectral Curve equations for string theory on $AdS_3 \times S^3 \times T^4$ with RR charge and its CFT$_2$ dual. We show that in the large-length regime, under additional mild assumptions, the QSC reproduces the Asymptotic Bethe Ansatz equations for the massive sector of the theory, including the exact dressing phases found in the literature. The structure of the QSC shares many similarities with the previously known AdS$_5$ and AdS$_4$ cases, but contains a critical new feature - the branch cuts are no longer quadratic. Nevertheless, we show that much of the QSC analysis can be suitably generalised producing a self-consistent system of equations. While further tests are necessary, particularly outside the massive sector, the simplicity and self-consistency of our construction suggests the completeness of the QSC.

Integrability and Conformal Bootstrap: One Dimensional Defect CFT

In this letter we study how the exact non-perturbative integrability methods in 4D N=4 Super-Yang-Mills can work efficiently together with the numerical conformal bootstrap techniques to go beyond the spectral observables and access previously unreachable quantities such as correlation functions at finite coupling. In the setup of 1D defect CFT living on a Maldacena-Wilson line, we managed to compute with good precision a non-supersymmetric structure constant for a wide range of the `t Hooft coupling. Our result is particularly precise at strong coupling and matches well with the recent analytic results of Meneghelli and Ferrero.

Colour-Twist Operators I: Spectrum and Wave Functions

We introduce a new class of operators in any theory with a 't Hooft large-$N$ limit that we call colour-twist operators. They are defined by twisting the colour-trace with a global symmetry transformation and are continuously linked to standard, un-twisted single-trace operators. In particular, correlation functions between operators that are twisted by an R-symmetry of ${\cal N}=4$ SYM extend those in the $γ$-deformed theory. The most general deformation also breaks the Lorentz symmetry but preserves integrability in the examples we consider. In this paper, we focus on colour-twist operators in the fishnet model. We exemplify our approach for the simplest colour-twist operators with one and two scalar fields, which we study non-perturbatively using field-theoretical as well as integrability methods, finding a perfect match. We also propose the quantisation condition for the Baxter equation appearing in the integrability calculation in the fishnet model. The results of this paper constitute a crucial step towards building the separation of variable construction for the correlation functions by means of the Quantum Spectral Curve approach.

Determinant Form of Correlators in High Rank Integrable Spin Chains via Separation of Variables

In this paper we take further steps towards developing the separation of variables program for integrable spin chains with gl(N) symmetry. By finding, for the first time, the matrix elements of the SoV measure explicitly we were able to compute correlation functions and wave function overlaps in a simple determinant form. In particular, we show how an overlap between on-shell and off-shell algebraic Bethe states can be written as a determinant. Another result, particularly useful for AdS/CFT applications, is an overlap between two Bethe states with different twists, which also takes a determinant form in our approach. Our results also extend our previous works in collaboration with A. Cavaglia and D. Volin to general values of the spin, including the SoV construction in the higher-rank non-compact case for the first time.

Excited States of One-Dimensional Defect CFTs from the Quantum Spectral Curve

We study the anomalous dimension of the cusped Maldacena-Wilson line in planar $\mathcal{N} = 4$ Yang-Mills theory with scalar insertions using the Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC) method. In the straight line limit we interpret the excited states of the QSC as insertions of scalar operators coupled to the line. Such insertions were recently intensively studied in the context of the one-dimensional defect CFT. We compute a five-loop perturbative result analytically at weak coupling and the first four orders in the $1/\sqrtλ$ expansion at strong coupling, confirming all previous analytic results. In addition, we find the non-perturbative spectrum numerically and show that it interpolates smoothly between the weak and strong coupling predictions.

N=4 SYM Quantum Spectral Curve in BFKL regime

We review the applications of the Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC) method to the Regge (BFKL) limit in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. QSC, based on quantum integrability of the AdS$_5$/CFT$_4$ duality, was initially developed as a tool for the study of the spectrum of anomalous dimensions of local operators in the N=4 SYM in the planar, $N_c\to\infty$ limit. We explain how to apply the QSC for the BFKL limit, which requires non-trivial analytic continuation in spin $S$ and extends the initial construction to non-local light-ray operators. We give a brief review of high precision non-perturbative numerical solutions and analytic perturbative data resulting from this approach. We also describe as a simple example of the QSC construction the leading order in the BFKL limit. We show that the QSC substantially simplifies in this limit and reduces to the Faddeev-Korchemsky Baxter equation for Q-functions. Finally, we review recent results for the Fishnet CFT, which carries a number of similarities with the Lipatov's integrable spin chain for interacting reggeized gluons.

The Holographic Dual of Strongly γ-deformed N=4 SYM Theory: Derivation, Generalization, Integrability and Discrete Reparametrization Symmetry

Recently, we constructed the first-principle derivation of the holographic dual of N=4 SYM in the double-scaled $γ$-deformed limit directly from the CFT side. The dual fishchain model is a novel integrable chain of particles in AdS5. It can be viewed as a discretized string and revives earlier string-bit approaches. The original derivation was restricted to the operators built out of one of two types of scalar fields. In this paper, we extend our results to the general operators having any number of scalars of both types, except for a very special case when their numbers are equal. Interestingly, the extended model reveals a new discrete reparametrization symmetry of the "world-sheet", preserving all integrals of motion. We use integrability to formulate a closed system of equations, which allows us to solve for the spectrum of the model in full generality, and present non-perturbative numerical results. We show that our results are in agreement with the Asymptotic Bethe Ansatz of the fishnet model up to the wrapping order at weak coupling.

Analytic Solution of Bremsstrahlung TBA II: Turning on the Sphere Angle

We find an exact analytical solution of the Y-system describing a cusped Wilson line in the planar limit of N=4 SYM. Our explicit solution describes anomalous dimensions of this family of observables for any value of the `t Hooft coupling and arbitrary R-charge L of the local operator inserted on the cusp in a near-BPS limit. Our finding generalizes the previous results of one of the authors & Sever and passes several nontrivial tests. First, for a particular case L=0 we reproduce the predictions of localization techniques. Second, we show that in the classical limit our result perfectly reproduces the existing prediction from classical string theory. In addition, we made a comparison with all existing weak coupling results and we found that our result interpolates smoothly between these two very different regimes of AdS/CFT. As a byproduct we found a generalization of the essential parts of the FiNLIE construction for the gamma-deformed case and discuss our results in the framework of the novel ${\bf P}μ$-formulation of the spectral problem.

NNLO BFKL Pomeron eigenvalue in N=4 SYM

We obtain an analytical expression for the Next-to-Next-to-Leading order of the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) Pomeron eigenvalue in planar SYM N=4 using Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC) integrability based method. The result is verified with more than 60 digits precision using the numerical method developed by us in a previous paper. As a byproduct we developed a general analytic method of solving the QSC perturbatively.

QCD Pomeron from AdS/CFT Quantum Spectral Curve

Using the methods of the recently proposed Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC) originating from integrability of ${\cal N}=4$ Super--Yang-Mills theory we analytically continue the scaling dimensions of twist-2 operators and reproduce the so-called pomeron eigenvalue of the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) equation. Furthermore, we recovered the Faddeev-Korchemsky Baxter equation for Lipatov's spin chain and also found its generalization for the next-to-leading order in the BFKL scaling. Our results provide a non-trivial test of QSC describing the exact spectrum in planar ${\cal N}=4$ SYM at infinitely many loops for a highly nontrivial non-BPS quantity and also opens a way for a systematic expansion in the BFKL regime.

Quantum Spectral Curve at Work: From Small Spin to Strong Coupling in N=4 SYM

We apply the recently proposed quantum spectral curve technique to the study of twist operators in planar N=4 SYM theory. We focus on the small spin expansion of anomalous dimensions in the sl(2) sector and compute its first two orders exactly for any value of the 't Hooft coupling. At leading order in the spin S we reproduced Basso's slope function. The next term of order S^2 structurally resembles the Beisert-Eden-Staudacher dressing phase and takes into account wrapping contributions. This expansion contains rich information about the spectrum of local operators at strong coupling. In particular, we found a new coefficient in the strong coupling expansion of the Konishi operator dimension and confirmed several previously known terms. We also obtained several new orders of the strong coupling expansion of the BFKL pomeron intercept. As a by-product we formulated a prescription for the correct analytical continuation in S which opens a way for deriving the BFKL regime of twist two anomalous dimensions from AdS/CFT integrability.

Quantum Spectral Curve for a Cusped Wilson Line in N=4 SYM

We show that the Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC) formalism, initially formulated for the spectrum of anomalous dimensions of all local single trace operators in N=4 SYM, can be extended to the generalized cusp anomalous dimension for all values of the parameters. We find that the large spectral parameter asymptotics and some analyticity properties have to be modified, but the functional relations are unchanged. As a demonstration, we find an all-loop analytic expression for the first two nontrivial terms in the small |phi \pm theta| expansion. We also present nonperturbative numerical results at generic angles which match perfectly 4-loop perturbation theory and the classical string prediction. The reformulation of the problem in terms of the QSC opens the possibility to explore many open questions. We attach to this paper several Mathematica notebooks which should facilitate future studies.

Quantum spectral curve for arbitrary state/operator in AdS$_5$/CFT$_4$

We give a derivation of quantum spectral curve (QSC) - a finite set of Riemann-Hilbert equations for exact spectrum of planar N=4 SYM theory proposed in our recent paper Phys.Rev.Lett. 112 (2014). We also generalize this construction to all local single trace operators of the theory, in contrast to the TBA-like approaches worked out only for a limited class of states. We reveal a rich algebraic and analytic structure of the QSC in terms of a so called Q-system -- a finite set of Baxter-like Q-functions. This new point of view on the finite size spectral problem is shown to be completely compatible, though in a far from trivial way, with already known exact equations (analytic Y-system/TBA, or FiNLIE). We use the knowledge of this underlying Q-system to demonstrate how the classical finite gap solutions and the asymptotic Bethe ansatz emerge from our formalism in appropriate limits.

Exact Slope and Interpolating Functions in ABJM Theory

Using the Quantum Spectral Curve approach we compute exactly an observable (called slope function) in the planar ABJM theory in terms of an unknown interpolating function h(λ) which plays the role of the coupling in any integrability based calculation in this theory. We verified our results with known weak coupling expansion in the gauge theory and with the results of semi-classical string calculations. Quite surprisingly at strong coupling the result is given by an explicit rational function of h(λ) to all orders. By comparing the structure of our result with that of an exact localization-based calculation for a similar observable in JHEP 1006 (2010) 011 we conjecture an exact expression for h(λ).

The Quantum Spectral Curve of the ABJM theory

Recently, it was shown that the spectrum of anomalous dimensions and other important observables in N = 4 SYM are encoded into a simple nonlinear Riemann-Hilbert problem: the Pμ-system or Quantum Spectral Curve. In this letter we present the Pμ-system for the spectrum of the ABJM theory. This may be an important step towards the exact determination of the interpolating function h(λ) characterising the integrability of the ABJM model. We also discuss a surprising symmetry between the Pμ-system equations for N = 4 SYM and ABJM.

Analytic Solution of Bremsstrahlung TBA

We consider the quark--anti-quark potential on the three sphere or the generalized cusp anomalous dimension in planar N=4 SYM. We concentrate on the vacuum potential in the near BPS limit with $L$ units of R-charge. Equivalently, we study the anomalous dimension of a super-Wilson loop with L local fields inserted at a cusp. The system is described by a recently proposed infinite set of non-linear integral equations of the Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz (TBA) type. That system of TBA equations is very similar to the one of the spectral problem but simplifies a bit in the near BPS limit. Using techniques based on the Y-system of functional equations we first reduced the infinite system of TBA equations to a Finite set of Nonlinear Integral Equations (FiNLIE). Then we solve the FiNLIE system analytically, obtaining a simple analytic result for the potential! Surprisingly, we find that the system has equivalent descriptions in terms of an effective Baxter equation and in terms of a matrix model. At L=0, our result matches the one obtained before using localization techniques. At all other L's, the result is new. Having a new parameter, L, allows us to take the large L classical limit. We use the matrix model description to solve the classical limit and match the result with a string theory computation. Moreover, we find that the classical string algebraic curve matches the algebraic curve arising from the matrix model.

Quantum Integrability for Three-Point Functions

Quantum corrections to three-point functions of scalar single trace operators in planar N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory are studied using integrability. At one loop, we find new algebraic structures that not only govern all two loop corrections to the mixing of the operators but also automatically incorporate all one loop diagrams correcting the tree level Wick contractions. Speculations about possible extensions of our construction to all loop orders are given. We also match our results with the strong coupling predictions in the classical (Frolov-Tseytlin) limit.

Solving the AdS/CFT Y-system

Using integrability and analyticity properties of the AdS5/CFT4 Y-system we reduce it to a finite set of nonlinear integral equations. The Z4 symmetry of the underlying coset sigma model, in its quantum version, allows for a deeper insight into the analyticity structure of the underlying Y-functions and T-functions, as well as for their analyticity friendly parameterization in terms of Wronskian determinants of Q-functions. As a check for the new equations, we reproduce the numerical results for the Konishi operator previously obtained from the original infinite Y-system.

Tailoring Three-Point Functions and Integrability IV. Theta-morphism

We compute structure constants in N=4 SYM at one loop using Integrability. This requires having full control over the two loop eigenvectors of the dilatation operator for operators of arbitrary size. To achieve this, we develop an algebraic description called the Theta-morphism. In this approach we introduce impurities at each spin chain site, act with particular differential operators on the standard algebraic Bethe ansatz vectors and generate in this way higher loop eigenvectors. The final results for the structure constants take a surprisingly simple form. For some quantities we conjecture all loop generalizations. These are based on the tree level and one loop patterns together and also on some higher loop experiments involving simple operators.

Quantum folded string and integrability: from finite size effects to Konishi dimension

Using the algebraic curve approach we one-loop quantize the folded string solution for the type IIB superstring in AdS(5)xS(5). We obtain an explicit result valid for arbitrary values of its Lorentz spin S and R-charge J in terms of integrals of elliptic functions. Then we consider the limit S ~ J ~ 1 and derive the leading three coefficients of strong coupling expansion of short operators. Notably, our result evaluated for the anomalous dimension of the Konishi state gives 2λ^{1/4}-4+2/λ^{1/4}. This reproduces correctly the values predicted numerically in arXiv:0906.4240. Furthermore we compare our result using some new numerical data from the Y-system for another similar state. We also revisited some of the large S computations using our methods. In particular, we derive finite--size corrections to the anomalous dimension of operators with small J in this limit.

Tailoring Three-Point Functions and Integrability

We use Integrability techniques to compute structure constants in N=4 SYM to leading order. Three closed spin chains, which represent the single trace gauge-invariant operators in N=4 SYM, are cut into six open chains which are then sewed back together into some nice pants, the three-point function. The algebraic and coordinate Bethe ansatz tools necessary for this task are reviewed. Finally, we discuss the classical limit of our results, anticipating some predictions for quasi-classical string correlators in terms of algebraic curves.

Tailoring Three-Point Functions and Integrability II. Weak/strong coupling match

We compute three-point functions of single trace operators in planar N=4 SYM. We consider the limit where one of the operators is much smaller than the other two. We find a precise match between weak and strong coupling in the Frolov-Tseytlin classical limit for a very general class of classical solutions. To achieve this match we clarify the issue of back-reaction and identify precisely which three-point functions are captured by a classical computation.

Tailoring Three-Point Functions and Integrability III. Classical Tunneling

We compute three-point functions between one large classical operator and two large BPS operators at weak coupling. We consider operators made out of the scalars of N=4 SYM, dual to strings moving in the sphere. The three-point function exponentiates and can be thought of as a classical tunneling process in which the classical string-like operator decays into two classical BPS states. From an Integrability/Condensed Matter point of view, we simplified inner products of spin chain Bethe states in a classical limit corresponding to long wavelength excitations above the ferromagnetic vacuum. As a by-product we solved a new long-range Ising model in the thermodynamic limit.

Integrability for the Full Spectrum of Planar AdS/CFT II

Using the thermodynamical Bethe ansatz method we derive an infinite set of integral non-linear equations for the spectrum of states/operators in AdS/CFT. The Y-system conjectured in arXiv:0901.3753 for the spectrum of all operators in planar N=4 SYM theory follows from these equations. In particular, we present the integral equations for the spectrum of all operators within the sl(2) sector. We prove that all the kernels and free terms entering these TBA equations are real and have nice fusion properties in the relevant mirror kinematics. We find the analogue of DHM formula for the dressing kernel in the mirror kinematics.

PSU(2,2|4) Character of Quasiclassical AdS/CFT

We solve the recently proposed T- and Y-systems (Hirota equation) for the exact spectrum of AdS/CFT in the strong coupling scaling limit for an arbitrary quasiclassical string state. The corresponding T-functions appear to be super-characters of the SU(2,2|4) group in unitary representations with a highest weight, with the classical AdS5xS5 superstring monodromy matrix as the group element. We propose a concise first Weyl-type formula for these characters and show that they correctly reproduce the results of quasiclassical one-loop quantization in all sectors of the superstring, under some natural assumptions. We also speculate about possible relation between the T-functions and the quantum monodromy matrix.

Review of AdS/CFT Integrability, Chapter III.7: Hirota Dynamics for Quantum Integrability

We review recent applications of the integrable discrete Hirota dynamics (Y-system) in the context of calculation of the planar AdS/CFT spectrum. We start from the description of solution of Hirota equations by the Backlund method where the requirement of analyticity results in the nested Bethe ansatz equations. Then we discuss applications of the Hirota dynamics for the analysis of the asymptotic limit of long operators in the AdS/CFT Y-system.

Wronskian Solution for AdS/CFT Y-system

Using the discrete Hirota integrability we find the general solution of the full quantum Y-system for the spectrum of anomalous dimensions of operators in the planar AdS5/CFT4 correspondence in terms of Wronskian-like determinants parameterized by a finite number of Baxter's Q-functions. We consider it as a useful step towards the construction of a finite system of non-linear integral equations (FiNLIE) for the full spectrum. The explicit asymptotic form of all the Q-functions for the large size operators is presented. We establish the symmetries and the analyticity properties of the asymptotic Q-functions and discuss their possible generalization to any finite size operators.

Y-system and beta-deformed N=4 Super-Yang-Mills

We show how the perturbation theory results recently obtained by F.Fiamberti, A.Santambrogio, C.Sieg and D.Zanon for operator anomalous dimensions of beta-deformed Super-Yang-Mills theory can be reproduced from the AdS5/CFT4 Y-system proposed by N.G., V.Kazakov and P.Vieira. To do this, we obtain the general twisted asymptotic solution of this Y-system of functional equations. We show that existence of an additional parameter beta in the deformed theory allows to extract rich information about the perturbation theory integrals directly from Y-system. Using this method we found a simple generating function for a broad class of such integrals.

Y-system, TBA and Quasi-Classical Strings in AdS4 x CP3

We study the exact spectrum of the AdS4/CFT3 duality put forward by Aharony, Bergman, Jafferis and Maldacena (ABJM). We derive thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations for the planar ABJM theory, starting from "mirror" asymptotic Bethe equations which we conjecture. We also propose generalization of the TBA equations for excited states. The recently proposed Y-system is completely consistent with the TBA equations for a large subsector of the theory, but should be modified in general. We find the general asymptotic infinite length solution of the Y-system, and also several solutions to all wrapping orders in the strong coupling scaling limit. To make a comparison with results obtained from string theory, we assume that the all-loop Bethe ansatz of N.G. and P. Vieira is the valid worldsheet theory description in the asymptotic regime. In this case we find complete agreement, to all orders in wrappings, between the solution of our Y-system and generic quasi-classical string spectrum in AdS3 x S.

Finite Volume Spectrum of 2D Field Theories from Hirota Dynamics

We propose, using the example of the O(4) sigma model, a general method for solving integrable two dimensional relativistic sigma models in a finite size periodic box. Our starting point is the so-called Y-system, which is equivalent to the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations of Yang and Yang. It is derived from the Zamolodchikov scattering theory in the cross channel, for virtual particles along the non-compact direction of the space-time cylinder. The method is based on the integrable Hirota dynamics that follows from the Y-system. The outcome is a nonlinear integral equation for a single complex function, valid for an arbitrary quantum state and accompanied by the finite size analogue of Bethe equations. It is close in spirit to the Destri-deVega (DdV) equation. We present the numerical data for the energy of various states as a function of the size, and derive the general Luscher-type formulas for the finite size corrections. We also re-derive by our method the DdV equation for the SU(2) chiral Gross-Neveu model.

Y-system and Quasi-Classical Strings

Recently Kazakov, Vieira and the author conjectured the Y-system set of equations describing the planar spectrum of AdS/CFT. In this paper we solve the Y-system equations in the strong coupling scaling limit. We show that the quasi-classical spectrum of string moving inside AdS3 x S1 matches precisely with the prediction of the Y-system. Thus the Y-system, unlike the asymptotic Bethe ansatz, describes correctly the spectrum of one-loop string energies including all exponential finite size corrections. This gives a very non-trivial further support in favor of the conjecture.

Efficient precision quantization in AdS/CFT

Understanding finite-size effects is one of the key open questions in solving planar AdS/CFT. In this paper we discuss these effects in the AdS_5xS^5 string theory at one-loop in the world-sheet coupling. First we provide a very general, efficient way to compute the fluctuation frequencies, which allows to determine the energy shift for very general multi-cut solutions. Then we apply this to two-cut solutions, in particular the giant magnon and determine the finite-size corrections at subleading order. The latter are then compared to the finite-size corrections from Luscher-Klassen-Melzer formulas and found to be in perfect agreement.

Generalized Scaling Function at Strong Coupling

We considered folded spinning string in AdS_5 x S^5 background dual to the Tr(D^S Phi^J) operators of N=4 SYM theory. In the limit S,J-> \infty and l=pi J/\sqrtλ\log S fixed we compute the string energy with the 2-loop accuracy in the worldsheet coupling \sqrtλfrom the asymptotical Bethe ansatz. In the limit l-> 0 the result is finite due to the massive cancelations with terms coming from the conjectured dressing phase. We also managed to compute all leading logarithm terms l^{2m}\log^n l/λ^n/2 to an arbitrary order in perturbation theory. In particular for m=1 we reproduced results of Alday and Maldacena computed from a sigma model. The method developed in this paper could be used for a systematic expansion in 1/\sqrtλand also at weak coupling.

Classical limit of Quantum Sigma-Models from Bethe Ansatz

In these proceedings we review the results of [1-3]. We show on the example of the SU(2) chiral-field how to reproduce the classical finite gap solutions for a large class of integrable sigma models from their exact quantum solutions. These solutions are usually formulated as Bethe ansatz equations for physical particles on a circle, with the interaction given by the factorized S-matrix conjectured from Zamolodchikovs' bootstrap procedure. Our method opens a new systematic way to justify this procedure. As an application of our method to the integrability in AdS/CFT correspondence, we reproduce the asymptotic string Bethe ansatz conjectured eartlier in the S3 x R sector of the Green-Schwarz-Metsaev-Tseytlin superstring. The role of the Virasoro constraints in this setup is clarified.
