Dynamic Ready Queue Based Process Priority Scheduling Algorithm

CPU scheduling is the reason behind the performance of multiprocessing and in time-shared operating systems. Different scheduling criteria are used to evaluate Central Processing Unit Scheduling algorithms which are based on different properties of the system. Round Robin is known to be the most recurrent pre-emptive algorithm used in an environment where processes are allotted a unit of time and multiprocessing operating systems. In this paper, a reformed variation of the Round Robin algorithm has been introduced to minimise the completion time, turnaround time, waiting time and number of context switches that results in the better performance of the system. The proposed work consists of calculation of priority on the basis of the difference between time spent in ready upto the moment and arrival time of the process, to ease up the burden on the ready queue. We have also evaluated the performance of the proposed approach on different datasets and measured the different scheduling criteria.

On Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery for Automated Deployment of Machine Learning Models using MLOps

Model deployment in machine learning has emerged as an intriguing field of research in recent years. It is comparable to the procedure defined for conventional software development. Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) have been shown to smooth down software advancement and speed up businesses when used in conjunction with development and operations (DevOps). Using CI/CD pipelines in an application that includes Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) components, on the other hand, has difficult difficulties, and pioneers in the area solve them by using unique tools, which is typically provided by cloud providers. This research provides a more in-depth look at the machine learning lifecycle and the key distinctions between DevOps and MLOps. In the MLOps approach, we discuss tools and approaches for executing the CI/CD pipeline of machine learning frameworks. Following that, we take a deep look into push and pull-based deployments in Github Operations (GitOps). Open exploration issues are also identified and added, which may guide future study.

Effect of charge transfer band on luminescence properties of Yb doped Y2O3 nano particles for blue-far yellow emission

The photoluminescence properties of Yb doped Y2O3 nanoparticles are investigated in visible region. The presence of peaks at 335 nm and 370 nm in the excitation spectra of bulk as well as in nano Yb: Y2O3 and their absence in pure Y2O3 confirm its origin due to Yb3+ dopant. The Yb doping in nano Y2O3 not only modify the charge transfer bands (CTB) but also helps in transition of electron from these CTBs to ground 2F5/2 and 2F7/2 levels of Yb. This results in strong intense broad emission from ~400 to ~650 nm (white light emission range) for 335 nm excitation.

Effect of Mg substitution in Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ nanophosphors for blue and white emission at near UV excitation

Nanophosphors of (Sr0.98-xMgxEu0.02)2SiO4 (x=0, 0.18, 0.38, 0.58 and 0.78) were prepared through low temperature solution combustion method and their luminescence properties were studied. The emission peak for Eu2+ doped Sr2SiO4 nanophosphor is observed at ~490 nm and ~553 nm corresponding to two Sr2+ sites Sr(I) and Sr(II) respectively for 395 nm excitation but the addition of Mg2+ dopant in Sr2SiO4 leads to suppression of ~553 nm emission peak due to absence of energy levels of Sr (II) sites which results in a single broad emission at ~460nm. It was shown that the emission peak blue shifted with increase in Mg concentration which may be attributed to change in crystal field environment around Sr(I) sites. Therefore the (Mg0.78Sr0.20Eu0.02)2SiO4: Eu2+ nanophosphor can be used for blue emission and the Sr2SiO4:Eu0.042+ for green-yellow emission at 395 nm excitations. The CIE coordinates for mixed powders of (Mg0.78Sr0.20Eu0.02)2SiO4 and Sr2SiO4:Eu0.042+ (in 1: 1 ratio) falls in the white region demonstrating the possible use of the mixture in white light generation using near UV excitation source.

Modification in structural, dielectric and magnetic properties of La and Nd co-substituted epitaxial BiFeO3 thin films

The influence of La and Nd co-substitution on the structural and magnetic properties of BiFeO3 (BFO) thin films was examined. Epitaxial thin films of pure and, La and Nd co-doped BFO on the SrRuO3 buffered single crystal SrTiO3 (001) substrate were deposited using pulsed laser deposition. The structural change in co doped La and Nd BFO thin films which was caused by the changes of force constant in the crystal lattice induced by ionic radii mismatch was investigated. Raman spectroscopy studies manifest the structural change in doped BFO films from rhombohedral to monoclinic distorted phase which is induced by the co substitution of La and Nd. Room temperature magnetic hysteresis curves indicated that saturation magnetization is enhanced in the doped film with saturation magnetization of ~20 emu/cm3. The dielectric and magnetic properties are effectively improved in BLNFO films compared to pure BFO thin films.

Comparative Analysis of Congestion Control Algorithms Using ns-2

In order to curtail the escalating packet loss rates caused by an exponential increase in network traffic, active queue management techniques such as Random Early Detection (RED) have come into picture. Flow Random Early Drop (FRED) keeps state based on instantaneous queue occupancy of a given flow. FRED protects fragile flows by deterministically accepting flows from low bandwidth connections and fixes several shortcomings of RED by computing queue length during both arrival and departure of the packet. Stochastic Fair Queuing (SFQ) ensures fair access to network resources and prevents a busty flow from consuming more than its fair share. In case of (Random Exponential Marking) REM, the key idea is to decouple congestion measure from performance measure (loss, queue length or delay). Stabilized RED (SRED) is another approach of detecting nonresponsive flows. In this paper, we have shown a comparative analysis of throughput, delay and queue length for the various congestion control algorithms RED, SFQ and REM. We also included the comparative analysis of loss rate having different bandwidth for these algorithms.

Effective Ways of Secure, Private and Trusted Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is an Internet-based computing, where shared resources, software and information, are provided to computers and devices on-demand. It provides people the way to share distributed resources and services that belong to different organization. Since cloud computing uses distributed resources in open environment, thus it is important to provide the security and trust to share the data for developing cloud computing applications. In this paper we assess how can cloud providers earn their customers' trust and provide the security, privacy and reliability, when a third party is processing sensitive data in a remote machine located in various countries? A concept of utility cloud has been represented to provide the various services to the users. Emerging technologies can help address the challenges of Security, Privacy and Trust in cloud computing.
