Charged Simpson-Visser AdS Black Holes: Geodesic Structure and Thermodynamic Properties

In this article, we apply the Simpson-Visser (SV) regularization scheme to Anti-de Sitter (AdS) charged black holes and investigate the resulting spacetime geometry in detail, with emphasis on both geodesic structure and thermodynamic behavior. In particular, we analyze the motion of massless particle, focusing on key features such as the photon sphere, black hole shadow, photon trajectory and the dynamics of charged particles, including the characteristics of the circular and type of orbits. Furthermore, we compare the theoretical predictions of the charged SV-AdS black hole with recent observations reported by the Event Horizon telescope (EHT) for M87* and Sgr~A*. Beyond the geodesic analysis, we explore the thermodynamics of the regularized charged SV-AdS black hole by deriving essential quantities such as the Hawking temperature, Gibbs free energy, and specific heat capacity. Through a systematic examination of these thermodynamic variables, we demonstrate how the regularization parameter inherent in the SV regularization influences particle dynamics, stability conditions, and the overall thermal properties of the modified black hole solution. This comprehensive study highlights the interplay between regularization effects and the physical observables associated with charged AdS black holes.

Spherical photon orbits around a rotating black hole with quintessence and cloud of strings

In this paper, we calculate the analytical solutions for the radii of planar and polar spherical photon orbits around a rotating black hole that is associated with quintessential field and cloud of strings. This includes a full analytical treatment of a quintic that describes orbits on the equatorial plane. Furthermore, The radial profile of the impact parameters is studied and the radii corresponding to the extreme cases are derived. For the more general cases, we also discuss the photon regions that form around this black hole. To simulate the orbits that appear in different inclinations, we analytically solve the latitudinal and azimuth equations of motion in terms of the Weierstrassian elliptic functions, by considering the radii of spherical orbits, in their general form, as the initial conditions. The period and the stability conditions of the orbits are also obtained analytically.

Classical tests on a charged Weyl black hole: bending of light, Shapiro delay and Sagnac effect

In this paper, we apply the classical test of general relativity on a charged Weyl black hole, whose exterior geometry is defined by altering the spherically symmetric solutions of Weyl conformal theory of gravity. The tests are basically founded on scrutinizing the angular geodesics of light rays propagating in the gravitating system caused by the black hole. In this investigation, we bring detailed discussions about the bending of light, together with two other relativistic effects, known as the Shapiro and the Sagnac effects. We show that the results are in good conformity with the general relativistic effects, besides giving long-distance corrections caused by the cosmological nature of the background geometry under study.

Photons trajectories on a first order scale-dependent static BTZ black hole

In this paper we study the motion of massless particles on a static BTZ black hole background in the context of scale-dependent gravity, which is characterized by the running parameter $ε$. Thus, by using standard methods we obtain the equation of motions and then analytic solutions are found. The relevant non-trivial differences appear when we compare our solution against the classical counterpart.

Cartographic distortions make dielectric spacetime analog models imperfect mimickers

It is commonly assumed that if the optical metric of a dielectric medium is identical to the metric of a vacuum space-time then light propagation through the dielectric mimics light propagation in the vacuum. However, just as the curved surface of the Earth cannot be mapped into a flat plane without distortion of some surface features, so too is it impossible to project the behavior of light from the vacuum into a dielectric analog residing in Minkowski space-time without introducing distortions. We study the covariance properties of dielectric analog space-times and the kinematics of a congruence of light in the analog, and show how certain features can be faithfully emulated in the analog depending on the choice of projection, but that not all features can be simultaneously emulated without distortion. These findings indicate conceptual weaknesses in the idea of using analog space-times as a basis for transformation optics, and we show that a certain formulation of transformation optics closely related to analog space-times resolves these issues.

Evolving Horava Cosmological Horizons

Several sets of radially propagating null congruence generators are exploited in order to form 3-dimensional marginally trapped surfaces, referred to as black hole and cosmological apparent horizons in a Horava universe. Based on this method, we deal with the characteristics of the 2-dimensional space-like spheres of symmetry and the peculiarities of having trapping horizons. Moreover, we apply this method in standard expanding and contracting FLRW cosmological models of a Horava universe to investigate the conditions under which the extra parameters of the theory may lead to trapped/anti-trapped surfaces both in the future and in the past. We also include the cases of negative time, referred to as the finite past, and discuss the formation of anti-trapped surfaces inside the cosmological apparent horizons.

Focusing of world-lines in Weyl gravity

We study the evolution of time-like congruences in the vacuum solutions of Weyl conformal theory of gravity. Using the Raycaudhuri equation, we show that for positive values of the coeffcient of the linear term in the solution and in the absence of the cosmological constant, the incoming rays converge. The evolution of the congruence for negative values is investigated for different values of the parameters. The behavior of the congruence under conformal transformations is also studied.

Gravitational Collapse in Repulsive $R+μ^4/R$ Gravity

In this paper we work out collapsing conditions for a spherical star in the weak field limit of the $R+μ^4/R$ gravity and discuss the importance of the parameter $μ$ to generate different criteria in the theory. Such criteria are proved to be resulting in a variety of different fates for the evolution of the outer shells of stars. Furthermore, we investigate the special case of violating the first junction condition and point out corresponding contradictions to the normal cases. These results show that the consistency of the $R+μ^4/R$ theory of gravity with the common astrophysical predictions relies highly on the adoption of the parameter $μ$ and satisfaction/violation of the first junction condition. For those anomalous results, further observational attempts are mandatory.

Massive Gravitons on Bohmian Congruences

Taking a quantum corrected form of Raychaudhuri equation in a geometric background described by a Lorentz-violating massive theory of gravity, we go through investigating a time-like congruence of massive gravitons affected by a Bohmian quantum potential. We find some definite conditions upon which these gravitons are confined to diverging Bohmian trajectories. The respective behaviour of those quantum potentials are also derived and discussed. Additionally, and through a relativistic quantum treatment of a typical wave function, we demonstrate schematic conditions on the associated frequency to the gravitons, in order to satisfy the necessity of divergence.

Shrinking cloaks in expanding spacetimes: the role of coordinates and the meaning of transformations in Transformation Optics

The fully covariant formulation of transformation optics is used to find the configuration of a cloaking device operating in an expanding universe modelled by a Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker spacetime. This spacetime cloak is used as a platform for probing the covariant formulation of transformation optics, thereby rigorously enhancing the conceptual understanding of the theory. By studying the problem in both comoving and physical coordinates we explicitly demonstrate the preservation of general covariance of electrodynamics under the transformation optics procedure. This platform also enables a detailed study of the various transformations that arise in transformation optics. We define a corporeal transformation as the "transformation" of transformation optics, and distinguish it from coordinate and frame transformations. We find that corporeal transformations considered in the literature have generally been restricted to a subset of all possible corporeal transformations, providing a potential mechanism for increased functionality of transformation optics.

Surface configuration in $R + μ^4/R$ gravity

We investigate the conditions on the additional constant $μ$ in the so-called $R+μ^4/R$ theory of gravity, due to existence of different kinds of space-like surfaces in both weak field and strong field limits, and their possible correspondence to black hole event horizons. Adopting a Schwarzschild limit, we probe the behaviour of $μ$ in different contexts of radial and radial-rotational congruence of null geodesics. We show that these cases serve as correspondents to black hole horizons in some peculiar cases of study.

A brief review on the Problem of Divergence in Krein Space Quantization

In this paper we have a brief review on the problem of divergence in quantum field theory and its elimination using the method of Krein space quantization. In this method, the auxiliary negative frequency states have been utilized, the modes of which do not interact with the physical states and are not affected by the physical boundary conditions. It is remarkable that Krein space quantization is similar to Pauli-Villars regularization, so we can call it the "Krein regularization". Considering the QED in Krein space quantization, it could be shown that the theory is automatically regularized. Calculation of the three primitive divergent integrals, the vacuum polarization, electron self energy and vertex function using Krein space method leads to finite values, since the infrared and ultraviolet divergencies do not appear. For another example, the Casimir stress on a spherical shell in de Sitter spacetime for a massless scalar field could be calculated using Krein space quantization.

Conformally Invariant Equations for Graviton

Recent astrophysical data indicate that our universe might currently be in a de Sitter (dS) phase. The importance of dS space has been primarily ignited by the study of the inflationary model of the universe and the quantum gravity. As we know Einstein's theory of gravitation (with a nonzero cosmological constant) can be interpreted as a theory of a metric field; that is, a symmetric tensor field of rank-2 on a fixed de Sitter background. It has been shown that the massless spin-2 Fierz-Pauli wave equation (or the linearized Einstein equation) is not conformally invariant. This result is in contrary with what we used to expect for massless theories. In this thesis we obtain conformally invariant wave equation for the massless spin-2 in the dS space. This study is motivated by the belief that conformal invariance may be the key to a future theory of quantum gravity.

Non-relativistic Geodesic Behaviors for a Massive Charged Particle Falling in de Sitter Spacetime

In this article, continuing the work done in the previous paper (M. Fathi 2012), we apply a Lagrangian formalism to demonstrate the shape of the geodesic motion for a massive charged particle which is falling freely in a de Sitter spacetime. We will show that a spiral shape of the trajectory is available, due to the logarithmic behavior of time, with respect to the proper time.

Spherical Solutions due to the Exterior Geometry of a Charged Weyl Black Hole

Firstly we derive peculiar spherical Weyl solutions, using a general spherically symmetric metric due to a massive charged object with definite mass and radius. Afterwards, we present new analytical solutions for relevant cosmological terms, which appear in the metrics. Connecting the metrics to a new geometric definition of a charged Black Hole, we numerically investigate the effective potentials of the total dynamical system, considering massive and massless test particles, moving on such Black Holes.
