Computation of static Heisenberg-chain correlators: Control over length and temperature dependence

We communicate results on correlation functions for the spin-1/2 Heisenberg-chain in two particularly important cases: (a) for the infinite chain at arbitrary finite temperature $T$, and (b) for finite chains of arbitrary length $L$ in the ground-state. In both cases we present explicit formulas expressing the short-range correlators in a range of up to seven lattice sites in terms of a single function $ω$ encoding the dependence of the correlators on $T$ ($L$). These formulas allow us to obtain accurate numerical values for the correlators and derived quantities like the entanglement entropy. By calculating the low $T$ (large $L$) asymptotics of $ω$ we show that the asymptotics of the static correlation functions at any finite distance are $T^2$ ($1/L^2$) terms. We obtain exact and explicit formulas for the coefficients of the leading order terms for up to eight lattice sites.

Correlation Function and Simplified TBA Equations for XXZ Chain

The calculation of the correlation functions of Bethe ansatz solvable models is very difficult problem. Among these solvable models spin 1/2 XXX chain has been investigated for a long time. Even for this model only the nearest neighbor and the second neighbor correlations were known. In 1990's multiple integral formula for the general correlations is derived. But the integration of this formula is also very difficult problem. Recently these integrals are decomposed to products of one dimensional integrals and at zero temperature, zero magnetic field and isotropic case, correlation functions are expressed by $\log 2$ and Riemann's zeta functions with odd integer argument $ζ(3),ζ(5),ζ(7),...$. We can calculate density sub-matrix of successive seven sites. Entanglement entropy of seven sites is calculated. These methods can be extended to XXZ chain up to $n=4$. Correlation functions are expressed by the generalized zeta functions. Several years ago I derived new thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equation for XXZ chain. This is quite different with Yang-Yang type TBA equations and contains only one unknown function. This equation is very useful to get the high temperature expansion. In this paper we get the analytic solution of this equation at $Δ=0$.

Next Nearest-Neighbor Correlation Functions of the Spin-1/2 XXZ Chain at Critical Region

The correlation functions of the spin-1/2 XXZ spin chain in the ground state are expressed in the form of the multiple integrals. For -1< Delta <1, they were obtained by Jimbo and Miwa in 1996. Especially the next nearest-neighbour correlation functions are given as certain three-dimensional integrals. We shall show these integrals can be reduced to one-dimensional ones and thereby evaluate the values of the next nearest-neighbor correlation functions. We have also found that the remaining one-dimensinal integrals can be evaluated analytically, when nu = arccos(Delta)/pi is a rational number.

Third Neighbor Correlators of Spin-1/2 Heisenberg Antiferromagnet

We exactly evaluate the third neighbor correlator <S_j^z S_{j+3}^z> and all the possible non-zero correlators <S^{alpha}_j S^{beta}_{j+1} S^{gamma}_{j+2} S^{delta}_{j+3}> of the spin-1/2 Heisenberg $XXX$ antiferromagnet in the ground state without magnetic field. All the correlators are expressed in terms of certain combinations of logarithm ln2, the Riemann zeta function zeta(3), zeta(5) with rational coefficients. The results accurately coincide with the numerical ones obtained by the density-matrix renormalization group method and the numerical diagonalization.

Critical exponent in the magnetization curve of quantum spin chains

The ground state magnetization curve around the critical magnetic field $H_c$ of quantum spin chains with the spin gap is investigated. We propose a size scaling method to estimate the critical exponent $δ$ defined as $m\sim |H-H_c|^{1/δ}$ from finite cluster calculation. The applications of the method to the S=1 antiferromagnetic chain and S=1/2 bond alternating chain lead to a common conclusion $δ=2$. The same result is derived for both edges of the magnetization plateau of the S=3/2 antiferromagnetic chain with the single ion anisotropy.

Magnetization plateau in S=3/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain with anisotropy

The magnetization process of the S=3/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain with the single-ion anisotropy D at T=0 is investigated by the exact diagonalization of finite clusters and finite-size scaling analyses. It is found that a magnetization plateau appears at m=1/2 for $D>D_c=0.93 \pm 0.01$. The phase transition with respect to D at D_c is revealed to be the Kosterlitz-Thouless-type. The magnetization curve of the infinite system is also presented for some values of D.

Magnetization process of the spin-1/2 XXZ models on square and cubic lattices

The magnetization process of the spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic XXZ model with Ising-like anisotropy in the ground state is investigated. We show numerically that the Ising-like XXZ models on square and cubic lattices show a first-order phase transition at some critical magnetic field. We estimate the value of the critical field and the magnetization jump on the basis of the Maxwell construction. The magnetization jump in the Ising-limit is investigated by means of perturbation theory. Based on our numerical results, we briefly discuss the phase diagram of the extended Bose-Hubbard model in the hard-core limit.
