Boundary regularity of weakly coupled vectorial almost-minimizers for Alt-Caffarelli functionals with non-standard growth

For a fixed constant $λ> 0$ and a bounded Lipschitz domain $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^n$ with $n \geq 2$, we establish that almost-minimizers (functions satisfying a sort of variational inequality) of the Alt-Caffarelli type functional \[ \mathcal{J}_G({\bf v};Ω) \coloneqq \int_Ω\left(\sum_{i=1}^mG\big(|\nabla v_i(x)|\big) + λχ_{\{|{\bf v}|>0\}}(x)\right) dx , \] where ${\bf v} = (v_1, \dots, v_m)$ and $m \in \mathbb{N}$, exhibit optimal (up-to-the boundary) Lipschitz continuity, where $G$ is a $\mathcal{N}$-function satisfying specific growth conditions. Our work extends the recent regularity results for weakly coupled vectorial almost-minimizers for the $p$-Laplacian addressed in \cite{BFS24}, thereby providing new insights and approaches applicable to a wide class of non-linear one or two-phase free boundary problems with non-standard growth. Our findings remain novel and significant even in the scalar setting and for minimizers of the type considered by Martínez--Wolanski \cite{MW08} and da Silva \textit{et al.} \cite{daSSV2024}.

Construction of infinitely many solutions for a critical Choquard equation via local Pohožaev identities

In this paper, we study a class of the critical Choquard equations with axisymmetric potentials, $$ -Δu+ V(|x'|,x'')u =\Big(|x|^{-4}\ast |u|^{2}\Big)u\hspace{4.14mm}\mbox{in}\hspace{1.14mm} \mathbb{R}^6, $$ where $(x',x'')\in \mathbb{R}^2\times\mathbb{R}^{4}$, $V(|x'|, x'')$ is a bounded nonnegative function in $\mathbb{R}^{+}\times\mathbb{R}^{4}$, and $*$ stands for the standard convolution. The equation is critical in the sense of the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. By applying a finite dimensional reduction argument and developing novel local Pohožaev identities, we prove that if the function $r^2V(r,x'')$ has a topologically nontrivial critical point then the problem admits infinitely many solutions with arbitrary large energies.

Local Uniqueness of blow-up solutions for critical Hartree equations in bounded domain

In this paper we are interested in the following critical Hartree equation \begin{equation*} \begin{cases} -Δu =\displaystyle{\Big(\int_Ω\frac{u^{2_μ^\ast} (ξ)}{|x-ξ|^μ}dξ\Big)u^{2_μ^\ast-1}}+\varepsilon u ,~~~\text{in}~Ω,\\ u=0,~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\text{on}~\partialΩ, \end{cases} \end{equation*} where $N\geq4$, $0<μ\leq4$, $\varepsilon>0$ is a small parameter, $Ω$ is a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^N$, and $2_μ^\ast=\frac{2N-μ}{N-2}$ is the critical exponent in the sense of the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. By establishing various versions of local Pohozaev identities and applying blow-up analysis, we first investigate the location of the blow-up points for single bubbling solutions to above the Hartree equation. Next we prove the local uniqueness of the blow-up solutions that concentrates at the non-degenerate critical point of the Robin function for $\varepsilon$ small.

Localized semiclassical states for Hamiltonian elliptic systems in dimension two

In this paper, we consider the Hamiltonian elliptic system in dimension two\begin{equation}\label{1.5}\aligned \left\{ \begin{array}{lll} -ε^2Δu+V(x)u=g(v)\ & \text{in}\quad \mathbb{R}^2,\\ -ε^2Δv+V(x)v=f(u)\ & \text{in}\quad \mathbb{R}^2, \end{array}\right.\endaligned \end{equation} where $V\in C(\mathbb{R}^2)$ has local minimum points, and $f,g\in C^1(\mathbb{R})$ are assumed to be either superlinear or asymptotically linear at infinity and of subcritical exponential growth in the sense of Trudinger-Moser inequality. Under only a local condition on $V$, we obtain a family of semiclassical states concentrating around local minimum points of $V$. In addition, in the case that $f$ and $g$ are superlinear at infinity, the decay and positivity of semiclassical states are also given. The proof is based on a reduction method, variational methods and penalization techniques.

On elliptic equations with Stein-Weiss type convolution parts

The aim of this paper is to study the critical elliptic equations with Stein-Weiss type convolution parts $$ \displaystyle-Δu =\frac{1}{|x|^α}\left(\int_{\mathbb{R}^{N}}\frac{|u(y)|^{2_{α, μ}^{\ast}}}{|x-y|^μ|y|^α}dy\right) |u|^{2_{α, μ}^{\ast}-2}u,~~~x\in\mathbb{R}^{N}, $$ where the critical exponent is due to the weighted Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality and Sobolev embedding. We develop a nonlocal version of concentration-compactness principle to investigate the existence of solutions and study the regularity, symmetry of positive solutions by moving plane arguments. In the second part, the subcritical case is also considered, the existence, symmetry, regularity of the positive solutions are obtained.

Nondegeneracy of solutions for a critical Hartree equation

The aim of this paper is to prove the nondegeneracy of the unique positive solutions for the following critical Hartree type equations when $μ>0$ is close to $0$, $$ -Δu=\left(I_μ\ast u^{2^{\ast}_μ}\right)u^{{2}^{\ast}_μ-1},~~x\in\mathbb{R}^{N}, $$ where $ I_μ(x)=\frac{Γ(\fracμ{2})}{Γ(\frac{N-μ}{2})π^{\frac{N}{2}}2^{N-μ}|x|^μ} $ is the Riesz potential and $2^{\ast}_μ=\frac{2{N-μ}}{N-2}$ is the upper critical exponent due to the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality.

Existence and concentration of ground state solutions for a critical nonlocal Schrödinger equation in $\R^2$

We study the following singularly perturbed nonlocal Schrödinger equation $$ -\vr^2Δu +V(x)u =\vr^{μ-2}\Big[\frac{1}{|x|^μ}\ast F(u)\Big]f(u) \quad \mbox{in} \quad \R^2, $$ where $V(x)$ is a continuous real function on $\R^2$, $F(s)$ is the primitive of $f(s)$, $0<μ<2$ and $\vr$ is a positive parameter. Assuming that the nonlinearity $f(s)$ has critical exponential growth in the sense of Trudinger-Moser, we establish the existence and concentration of solutions by variational methods.

Multi-bump solutions for Choquard equation with deepening potential well

We study the existence of multi-bump solutions to Choquard equation $$ \begin{array}{ll} -Δu + (λa(x)+1)u=\displaystyle\big(\frac{1}{|x|^μ}\ast |u|^p\big)|u|^{p-2}u \mbox{ in } \,\,\, \R^3, \end{array} $$ where $μ\in (0,3), p\in(2, 6-μ)$, $λ$ is a positive parameter and the nonnegative function $a(x)$ has a potential well $ Ω:=int (a^{-1}(0))$ consisting of $k$ disjoint bounded components $ Ω:=\cup_{j=1}^{k}Ω_j$. We prove that if the parameter $λ$ is large enough then the equation has at least $2^{k}-1$ multi-bump solutions.

Multi-peak solutions for nonlinear Choquard equation with a general nonlinearity

In this paper, we study a class of nonlinear Choquard type equations involving a general nonlinearity. By using the method of penalization argument, we show that there exists a family of solutions having multiple concentration regions which concentrate at the minimum points of the potential $V$. Moreover, the monotonicity of $f(s)/s$ and the so-called Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition are not required.

On nonlocal Choquard equations with Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev critical exponents

We consider the following nonlinear Choquard equation with Dirichlet boundary condition $$-Δu =\left(\int_Ω\frac{|u|^{2_μ^{\ast}}}{|x-y|^μ}dy\right)|u|^{2_μ^{\ast}-2}u+λf(u)\hspace{4.14mm}\mbox{in}\hspace{1.14mm} Ω, $$ where $Ω$ is a smooth bounded domain of $\mathbb{R}^N$, $λ>0$, $N\geq3$, $0<μ<N$ and $2_μ^{\ast}$ is the critical exponent in the sense of the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. Under suitable assumptions on different types of nonlinearities $f(u)$, we are able to prove some existence and multiplicity results for the equation by variational methods.

Existence of positive multi-bump solutions for a Schrödinger-Poisson system in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$

In this paper we are going to study a class of Schrödinger-Poisson system $$ \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} - Δu + (λa(x)+1)u+ ϕu = f(u) \mbox{ in } \,\,\, \mathbb{R}^{3},\\ -Δϕ=u^2 \mbox{ in } \,\,\, \mathbb{R}^{3}.\\ \end{array} \right. $$ Assuming that the nonnegative function $a(x)$ has a potential well $int (a^{-1}(\{0\}))$ consisting of $k$ disjoint components $Ω_1, Ω_2, ....., Ω_k$ and the nonlinearity $f(t)$ has a subcritical growth, we are able to establish the existence of positive multi-bump solutions by variational methods.

Existence of solutions for a nonlinear Choquard equation with potential vanishing at infinity

We study the following class of nonlinear Choquard equation, $$ -Δu +V(x)u =\Big( \frac{1}{|x|^μ}\ast F(u)\Big)f(u) \quad \mbox{in} \quad \R^N, $$ where $0<μ<N$, $N \geq 3$, $V$ is a continuous real function and $F$ is the primitive function of $f$. Under some suitable assumptions on the potential $V$, which include the case $V(\infty)=0$, that is, $V(x)\to 0$ as $|x|\to +\infty$, we prove existence of a nontrivial solution for the above equation by penalization method.

Existence of solutions for a nonlocal variational problem in $\mathbb{R}^2$ with exponential critical growth

We study the existence of solution for the following class of nonlocal problem, $$ -Δu +V(x)u =\Big( I_μ\ast F(x,u)\Big)f(x,u) \quad \mbox{in} \quad \mathbb{R}^2, $$ where $V$ is a positive periodic potential, $I_μ=\frac{1}{|x|^μ}$, $0<μ<2$ and $F(x,s)$ is the primitive function of $f(x,s)$ in the variable $s$. In this paper, by assuming that the nonlinearity $f(x,s)$ has an exponential critical growth at infinity, we prove the existence of solutions by using variational methods.

Groundstates for nonlinear fractional Choquard equations with general nonlinearities

We study the following nonlinear Choquard equation driven by a fractional Laplacian: $$ (-Δ)^{s}u+ u =(|x|^{-μ}\ast F(u))f(u)|{4.14mm}{in}|{1.14mm} \mathbb{R}^N, $$ with $N\geq3$, $s\in(0,1)$ and $μ\in(0,N)$. By Supposing that the nonlinearities satisfy the general Berestycki-Lions type conditions \cite{BL}, we are able to prove the existence of groundstates for this equation by variational methods.
