A modification of Hardy-Littlewood maximal-function on Lie groups

For a real-valued function $f$ on a metric measure space $(X,d,μ)$ the Hardy-Littlewood maximal-function of $f$ is given by the following `supremum-norm': $$Mf(x):=\sup_{r>0}\frac{1}{μ(\mathcal{B}_{x,r})}\int_{\mathcal{B}_{x,r}}|f|dμ.$$ In this note, we replace the supremum-norm on parameters $r$ by $\mathcal{L}_p$-norm with weight $w$ on parameters $r$ and define Hardy-Littlewood integral-function $I_{p,w}f$. It is shown that $I_{p,w}f$ converges pointwise to $Mf$ as $p\to\infty$. Boundedness of the sublinear operator $I_{p,w}$ and continuity of the function $I_{p,w}f$ in case that $X$ is a Lie group, $d$ is a left-invariant metric, and $μ$ is a left Haar-measure (resp. right Haar-measure) are studied.

Path-Connected Components of Affine Schemes and Algebraic K-Theory

We introduce a functor $\mathfrak{M}:\mathbf{Alg}\times\mathbf{Alg}^\mathrm{op}\rightarrow\mathrm{pro}\text{-}\mathbf{Alg}$ constructed from representations of $\mathrm{Hom}_\mathbf{Alg}(A,B\otimes ? )$. As applications, the following items are introduced and studied: (i) Analogue of the functor $π_0$ for algebras and affine schemes. (ii) Cotype of Weibel's concept of strict homotopization. (iii) A homotopy invariant intrinsic singular cohomology theory for affine schemes with cup product. (iv) Some extensions of $\mathbf{Alg}$ that are enriched over idempotent semigroups. (v) Classifying homotopy pro-algebras for Cortiñas-Thom's KK-groups and Weibel's homotopy K-groups.

Abstract Hardy-Littlewood Maximal Inequality

In this note besides two abstract versions of the Vitali Covering Lemma an abstract Hardy-Littlewood Maximal Inequality, generalizing weak type (1,1) maximal function inequality, associated to any outer measure and a family of subsets on a set is introduced. The inequality is (effectively) satisfied if and only if a special numerical constant called Hardy-Littelwood maximal constant is finite. Two general sufficient conditions for the finiteness of this constant are given and upper bounds for this constant associated to the family of (centered) balls in homogeneous spaces, family of dyadic cubes in Euclidean spaces, family of admissible trapezoids in homogeneous trees, and family of Calderón-Zygmund sets in (ax+b)-group, are considered. Also a very simple application to find some nontrivial estimates about mass density in Classical Mechanics is given.

Decomposition of functions between Banach spaces in the orthogonality equation

Let $E,F$ be Banach spaces. In the case that $F$ is reflexive we give a description for the solutions $(f,g)$ of the Banach-orthogonality equation $$\langle f(x),g(α)\rangle=\langle x,α\rangle\hspace{10mm}\forall x\in E,\forall α\in E^*,$$ where $f:E\rightarrow F,g:E^*\rightarrow F^*$ are two maps. Our result generalizes the recent result of Łukasik and Wójcik in the case that $E$ and $F$ are Hilbert spaces.

Quantum metrics on noncommutative spaces

We introduce two new formulations for the notion of "quantum metric on noncommutative space". For a compact noncommutative space associated to a unital C*-algebra, our quantum metrics are elements of the spatial tensor product of the C*-algebra with itself. We consider some basic properties of these new objects, and state some connections with the Rieffel theory of compact quantum metric spaces. The main gap in our work is the lack of a nonclassical example even in the case of C*-algebras of matrices.

On the quantum groups and semigroups of maps between noncommutative spaces

We define algebraic families of (all) morphisms which are purely algebraic analogs of quantum families of (all) maps introduced by P.M. Soltan. Also, algebraic families of (all) isomorphisms are introduced. By using these notions we construct two classes of Hopf-algebras which may be interpreted as the quantum group of all maps from a finite space to a quantum group, and the quantum group of all automorphisms of a finite NC space. As special cases three classes of NC objects are introduced: quantum group of gauge transformations, Pontryagin dual of a quantum group, and Galois-Hopf-algebra of an algebra extension.

On the stability of a generalized additive functional equation

We consider Hyers-Ulam stability of a functional equation for continuous functions on a space on which a topological group acts, analogous to the additive functional equation on a group. We show, among other things, that our generalized additive equation, for continuous functions on a homogenous space of a strongly amenable topological group, is stable provided that the canonical projection from that group to its homogenous space is a fiber bundle.

Quantum Functor $Mor$

Let $Top_c$ be the category of compact spaces and continuous maps and $Top_f\subset Top_c$ be the full subcategory of finite spaces. Consider the covariant functor $Mor:Top_f^{op}\times Top_c\to Top_c$ that associates any pair $(X,Y)$ with the space of all morphisms from $X$ to $Y$. In this paper, we describe a non commutative version of $Mor$. More pricelessly, we define a functor $\mathfrak{M}\mathfrak{o}\mathfrak{r}$, that takes any pair $(B,C)$ of a finitely generated unital C*-algebra $B$ and a finite dimensional C*-algebra $C$ to the quantum family of all morphism from $B$ to $C$.
