CP-Violating 2HDMs Emerging from 3-3-1 Models

We investigate CP violating 2 Higgs doublet models as an effective theory emerging from models with an $SU(3)_L \otimes U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry. Because of the extension of the electroweak symmetry, a characteristic structure of Yukawa interactions appears with new CP violating phases at the electroweak scale. In this scenario, the charged Higgs boson loop provides dominant and sizable contributions to the neutron electric dipole moment (nEDM) at one-loop level. We find that the prediction of the nEDM can be slightly smaller than the current upper limit, ${\cal O}(10^{-26})\,e\,\text{cm}$, with the mass of the charged Higgs boson and new CP violating phases to be a few hundred GeV and $\mathcal{O}(1)$, respectively, under the constraints from the meson mixings, the $B \to X_s γ$ decay and current LHC data.

Dark Sector as Origin of Light Lepton Mass and Its Phenomenology

We discuss a model with a dark sector, in which smallness of mass for charged leptons and neutrinos can naturally be explained by one-loop effects mediated by particles in the dark sector. These new particles, including dark matter candidates, also contribute to the anomalous magnetic dipole moment, denoted by $(g-2)$, for charged leptons. We show that our model can explain the muon $(g-2)$ anomaly and observed neutrino oscillations under the constraints from lepton flavor violating decays of charged leptons. We illustrate that the scenario with scalar dark matter is highly constrained by direct searches at the LHC, while that with fermionic dark matter allows for considering dark scalars with masses of order 100 GeV. Our scenario can be tested by a precise measurement of the muon Yukawa coupling as well as the direct production of dark scalar bosons at future electron-positron colliders.

Gravitational waves in models with multicritical-point principle

The multicritical-point principle (MPP) provides a natural explanation of the large hierarchy between the Planck and electroweak scales. We consider a scenario in which MPP is applied to the Standard Model extended by two real singlet scalar fields $ϕ$ and $S$, and a dimensional transmutation occurs by the vacuum expectation value of $ϕ$. In this paper, we focus on the critical points that possess a $\mathbb Z_2$ symmetry $S\rightarrow -S$ and all the other fields are left invariant. Then $S$ becomes a natural dark matter (DM) candidate. Further, we concentrate on the critical points where $ϕ$ does not possess further $\mathbb Z_2$ symmetry so that there is no cosmological domain-wall problem. Among such critical points, we focus on maximally critical one called CP-1234 that fix all the superrenormalizable parameters. We show that there remains a parameter region that satisfies the DM relic abundance, DM direct-detection bound and the current LHC constraints. In this region, we find a first-order phase transition in the early universe around the TeV-scale temperature. The resultant gravitational waves are predicted with a peak amplitude of ${\cal O}(10^{-12})$ at a frequency of $10^{-2}$-$10^{-1}$ Hz, which can be tested with future space-based instruments such as DECIGO and BBO.

Implication of the $W$ boson mass anomaly at CDF II in the Higgs triplet model with a mass difference

A new report for the measurement of the W boson mass has been provided by the CDF II experiment. The measured value of the W boson mass is given to be $m_W^{\text{CDF II}} = 80.4335 \pm 0.0094$ GeV which shows $7σ$ deviation from the standard model prediction, while the other groups of high energy experiments, e.g., ATLAS and D0 II, show consistent results with the latter. Assuming that the measurement at CDF II is correct, we discuss the possibility to explain the anomaly in the Higgs triplet model. We find that the anomaly can be explained under the constraints from the electroweak rho parameter, the effective weak mixing angle, the partial width of the leptonic $Z$ decay and current direct searches at LHC when non-zero mass differences among the triplet-like Higgs bosons and the vacuum expectation value of the triplet Higgs field are taken to be ${\cal O}(100)$ GeV and ${\cal O}(1)$ GeV, respectively.

Minimal scenario of Criticality for Electroweak scale, Neutrino Masses, Dark Matter, and Inflation

We propose a minimal model that can explain the electroweak scale, neutrino masses, Dark Matter (DM), and successful inflation all at once based on the multicritical-point principle (MPP). The model has two singlet scalar fields that realize an analogue of the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism, in addition to the Standard Model with heavy Majorana right-handed neutrinos. By assuming a $Z_2 $ symmetry, one of the scalars becomes a DM candidate whose property is almost the same as the minimal Higgs-portal scalar DM. In this model, the MPP can naturally realize a saddle point in the Higgs potential at high energy scales. By the renormalization-group analysis, we study the critical Higgs inflation with non-minimal coupling $ξ|H|^2 R$ that utilizes the saddle point of the Higgs potential. We find that it is possible to realize successful inflation even for $ξ=25$ and that the heaviest right-handed neutrino is predicted to have a mass around $10^{14}$ GeV to meet the current cosmological observations. Such a small value of $ξ$ can be realized by the Higgs-portal coupling $λ_{SH}\simeq 0.32$ and the vacuum expectation value of the additional neutral scalar $\langleϕ\rangle\simeq 2.7$ TeV, which correspond to the dark matter mass 2.0 TeV, its spin-independent cross section $1.8\times10^{-9}$ pb, and the mass of additional neutral scalar 190 GeV.

Next-to-leading order corrections to decays of the heavier CP-even Higgs boson in the two Higgs doublet model

We investigate the impact of electroweak (EW), scalar and QCD corrections to the full set of decay branching ratios of an additional CP-even Higgs boson ($H$) in the two Higgs doublet model with a softly broken $Z_2$ symmetry. We employ the improved gauge independent on-shell scheme in the renormalized vertices. We particularly focus on the scenario near the alignment limit in which couplings of the discovered 125 GeV Higgs boson ($h$) coincide with those of the standard model while the $Hhh$ coupling vanishes at tree level. The renormalized decay rate for $H\to hh$ can significantly be changed from the prediction at tree level due to non-decoupling loop effects of additional Higgs bosons, even in the near alignment case. We find that the radiative corrections to the branching ratio of $H\to hh$ can be a few ten percent level in the case with the masses of additional Higgs bosons being degenerate under the constraints of perturbative unitarity, vacuum stability and the EW precision data. Further sizable corrections can be obtained for the case with a mass difference among the additional Higgs bosons.

Probing double-aligned two Higgs doublet models at LHC

We consider two Higgs doublet models (THDMs) with both the Higgs potential and Yukawa interactions being aligned, which we call "double-aligned THDMs". In this scenario, coupling constants of the discovered Higgs boson to the Standard Model (SM) particles are identical to those of the SM Higgs boson, and flavor changing neutral currents via neutral Higgs bosons do not appear at tree level. We investigate current constraints and future prospects of the model by using measurements from flavor experiments and data of multi-lepton final states at LHC. Especially, we focus on the electroweak pair production of the additional Higgs bosons with their masses below $2m_t$. We find that the most of the parameter space are already excluded by the current LHC data when the leptonic decays of the additional Higgs bosons are dominant, which can be interpreted to the scenario in the Type-X THDM as a special case. We also clarify the parameter region where the high-luminosity LHC can explore, and demonstrate the reconstruction of the masses of additional Higgs bosons from the $b\bar{b}τ^+τ^-$ final states in a few benchmark points.

Aligned CP-violating Higgs sector canceling the electric dipole moment

We discuss the effect of CP violation in the aligned scenario of the general two-Higgs-doublet model, in which the Higgs potential and the Yukawa interaction provide additional CP-violating phases. An alignment is imposed to the Yukawa interaction in order to avoid dangerous flavor changing neutral currents. The Higgs potential is also aligned such that the coupling constants of the lightest Higgs boson, which is identified as the discovered Higgs boson with the mass of 125 GeV, are the same as those of the standard model. In general, CP-violating phases originated by the Yukawa interaction and the Higgs potential are strongly constrained by the current data for the electric dipole moment (EDM). It is found that in our scenario contributions from the two sources of CP violation can be destructive and consequently their total contribution can satisfy the EDM results, even when each CP-violating phase is large. Such a large CP-violating phase can be tested at collider experiments by looking at the angular distributions of particles generated by the decays of the additional Higgs bosons.

H-COUP Version 2: a program for one-loop corrected Higgs boson decays in non-minimal Higgs sectors

We present the concept of H-COUP_ver 2, which evaluates the decay rates (including higher order corrections) for the Higgs boson with a mass of 125 GeV in various extended Higgs models. In the previous version (H-COUP_1.0), only a full set of the Higgs boson vertices are evaluated at one-loop level in a gauge invariant manner in these models. H-COUP_ver 2 contains all the functions of H-COUP_1.0. After shortly introducing these extended Higgs models and discussing their theoretical and experimental constraints, we summarize formulae for the renormalized vertices and the decay rates. We then explain how to install and run H-COUP_ver 2 with some numerical examples.

Radiative generation of neutrino masses in a 3-3-1 type model

A new model for tiny neutrino masses is proposed in the gauge theory of $SU(3)_C \otimes SU(3)_L \otimes U(1)_X$, where neutrino masses are generated via the quantum effect of new particles. In this model, the fermion content is taken to be minimal to realize the gauge anomaly cancellation, while the scalar sector is extended from the minimal 3-3-1 model to have an additional $SU(3)_L$ triplet field. After $SU(3)_L\otimes U(1)_X$ is broken into $SU(2)_L\otimes U(1)_Y$, the "Zee model" like diagrams are naturally induced, which contain sufficient lepton flavor violating interactions to reproduce current neutrino oscillation data. Furthermore, the remnant $Z_2$ symmetry appears after the electroweak symmetry breaking, which guarantees the stability of dark matter. It is confirmed that this model can satisfy current dark matter data. As an important prediction to test this model, productions and decays of doubly-charged scalar bosons at collider experiments are discussed in successful benchmark scenarios.

Full next-to-leading-order calculations of Higgs boson decay rates in models with non-minimal scalar sectors

We present a complete set of decay rates of the Higgs boson with the mass of 125 GeV at the full next-to-leading order in a variety of extended Higgs models; i.e., a model with an additional real singlet scalar field, four types of two Higgs doublet models and the inert doublet model. All the one-loop contributions due to QCD and electroweak interactions as well as scalar interactions are taken into account, and the calculations are systematically performed. Branching ratios for all the decay modes are evaluated in these models, and patterns of deviations in each decay mode from the standard model predictions are comprehensively analyzed. We show how these models with extended Higgs sectors can be distinguished by using our calculation of the branching ratios and future precision measurements of the Higgs boson decays.

Zee Model with Flavor Dependent Global $U(1)$ Symmetry

We study a simple extension of the Zee model, in which a discrete $Z_2$ symmetry imposed in the original model is replaced by a global $U(1)$ symmetry retaining the same particle content. Due to the $U(1)$ symmetry with flavor dependent charge assignments, the lepton sector has an additional source of flavor violating Yukawa interactions with a controllable structure, while the quark sector does not at tree level. We show that current neutrino oscillation data can be explained under constraints from lepton flavor violating decays of charged leptons in a successful charge assignment of the $U(1)$ symmetry. In such scenario, we find a characteristic pattern of lepton flavor violating decays of additional Higgs bosons, which can be a smoking gun signature at collider experiments.

CP Violating Two-Higgs-Doublet Model: Constraints and LHC Predictions

Two-Higgs-Doublet Models (2HDMs) are amongst the simplest extensions of the Standard Model. Such models allow for tree-level CP Violation (CPV) in the Higgs sector. We analyse a class of CPV 2HDM (of Type-I) in which only one of the two Higgs doublets couples to quarks and leptons, avoiding dangerous Flavour Changing Neutral Currents. We provide an up to date and comprehensive analysis of the constraints and Large Hadron Collider (LHC) predictions of such a model. Of immediate interest to the LHC Run 2 is the golden channel where all three neutral Higgs bosons are observed to decay into gauge boson pairs, $WW$ and $ZZ$, providing a smoking gun signature of the CPV 2HDM.

Higgs boson couplings in multi-doublet models with natural flavour conservation

We investigate the deviation in the couplings of the standard model (SM) like Higgs boson ($h$) with a mass of 125 GeV from the prediction of the SM in multi-doublet models within the framework where flavour changing neutral currents at the tree level are naturally forbidden. After we present the general expressions for the modified gauge and Yukawa couplings for $h$, we show the correlation between the deviation in the Yukawa coupling for the tau lepton $hτ^+τ^-$ and that for the bottom quark $hb\bar{b}$ under the assumption of a non-zero deviation in the $hVV$ $(V=W,Z)$ couplings in two Higgs doublet models (2HDMs) and three Higgs doublet models (3HDMs) as simple examples. We clarify the possible allowed prediction of the deviations in the 3HDMs which cannot be explained in the 2HDMs even taking into account the one-loop electroweak corrections to the Yukawa coupling.

Higgs Phenomenology in the Minimal $SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X$ Model

We investigate the phenomenology of a model based on the $SU(3)_c\times SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X$ gauge theory, the so-called 331 model. In particular, we focus on the Higgs sector of the model which is composed of three $SU(3)_L$ triplet Higgs fields, and this corresponds to the minimal form to realize phenomenologically acceptable scenario. After the spontaneous symmetry breaking $SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X\to SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y$, our Higgs sector effectively becomes that with two $SU(2)_L$ doublet scalar fields, in which the first and the second generation quarks couple to the different Higgs doublet from that couples to the third generation quarks. This structure causes the flavour changing neutral current mediated by Higgs bosons at the tree level. By taking an alignment limit of the mass matrix for the CP-even Higgs bosons, which is naturally realized in the case with the breaking scale of $SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X$ to be much larger than that of $SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y$, we can avoid current constraints from flavour experiments such as the $B^0$-$\bar{B}^0$ mixing even for the Higgs bosons masses being ${\cal O}(100)$ GeV. In this allowed parameter space, we clarify that a characteristic deviation in quark Yukawa couplings of the standard model-like Higgs boson is predicted, which has a different pattern from that seen in two Higgs doublet models with a softly-broken $Z_2$ symmetry. We also find that the flavour violating decay modes of the extra Higgs boson, e.g., $H/A \to tc$ and $H^\pm \to ts$ can be dominant, and they yield the important signature to distinguish our model from the two Higgs doublet models.

Light charged Higgs boson scenario in 3HDMs

The measurement of the $B\to X_sγ$ process gives important constraints on physics related to charged Higgs bosons ($H^\pm$). In 2-Higgs Doublet Models (2HDMs) with a softly-broken $Z_2$ symmetry, a light $H^\pm$ scenario, in which $H^\pm$ can be produced via the top decay, is possible in two of four types of Yukawa interactions (the so-called Type-I and Type-X). In these types of 2HDMs, the $H^\pm \to τ^\pm ν$ decay mode is dominant in wide regions of the parameter space. In this report, we discuss the other possibility of a light charged Higgs boson scenario in 3-Higgs-Doublet Models (3HDMs) based on the results obtained in Ref. [1]. We show that charged Higgs bosons can mainly decay into $cb$ without contradiction with the $B\to X_sγ$ data and the direct searches for charged Higgs bosons at the LHC, and this scenario cannot be realized in the 2HDMs.

Perturbative Unitarity Bounds in Composite 2-Higgs Doublet Models

We study bounds from perturbative unitarity in a Composite 2-Higgs Doublet Model (C2HDM) based on the spontaneous breakdown of a global symmetry $SO(6)\to SO(4)\times SO(2)$ at the compositeness scale $f$. The eight pseudo Nambu-Goldstone Bosons (pNGBs) emerging from such a dynamics are identified as two isospin doublet Higgs fields. We calculate the $S$-wave amplitude for all possible 2-to-2-body elastic (pseudo)scalar boson scatterings at energy scales $\sqrt{s}$ reachable at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and beyond it, including the longitudinal components of weak gauge boson states as the corresponding pNGB states. In our calculation, the Higgs potential is assumed to have the same form as that in the Elementary 2-Higgs Doublet Model (E2HDM) with a discrete $Z_2$ symmetry, which is expected to be generated at the one-loop level via the Coleman-Weinberg (CW) mechanism. We find that the $S$-wave amplitude matrix can be block-diagonalized with maximally $2\times 2$ submatrices in a way similar to the E2HDM case as long as we only keep the contributions from ${\cal O }(ξs)$ and ${\cal O }(ξ^0 s^0)$ in the amplitudes, where $ξ=v_{\text{SM}}^2/f^2$ and $v_{\text{SM}}^{}\simeq 246$ GeV, which is an appropriate approximation for our analysis. By requiring the C2HDM to satisfy perturbative unitarity at energies reachable by the LHC, we derive bounds on its parameters such as $ξ$ and the masses of extra Higgs bosons present in the scenario alongside the Standard Model (SM)-like Higgs state discovered in 2012.

Phenomenology of the Georgi-Machacek model at future electron-positron colliders

We study the phenomenology of the exotic Higgs bosons in the Georgi-Machacek model at future electron-positron colliders such as the International Linear Collider (ILC), assuming the collision energies of 500 GeV and 1 TeV. We show that the existence of the neutral and singly-charged Higgs bosons in the 5-plet representation under the custodial $SU(2)_V$ symmetry can be readily identified by studying various energy and invariant mass distributions of the $W^+W^-Z$ final state. Moreover, their masses can be determined with sufficiently high precision to test the mass degeneracy, a feature due to the custodial symmetry of the model. A synergy between such searches at the ILC and the doubly-charged Higgs search at the LHC will make the 5-plet Higgs boson study more comprehensive.

Renormalizable Model for Neutrino Mass, Dark Matter, Muon $g-2$ and 750 GeV Diphoton Excess

We discuss a possibility to explain the 750 GeV diphoton excess observed at the LHC in a three-loop neutrino mass model which has a similar structure to the model by Krauss, Nasri and Trodden. Tiny neutrino masses are naturally generated by the loop effect of new particles with their couplings and masses to be of order 0.1-1 and TeV, respectively. The lightest right-handed neutrino, which runs in the three-loop diagram, can be a dark matter candidate. In addition, the deviation in the measured value of the muon anomalous magnetic moment from its prediction in the standard model can be compensated by one-loop diagrams with exotic multi-charged leptons and scalar bosons. For the diphoton event, an additional isospin singlet real scalar field plays the role to explain the excess by taking its mass of 750 GeV, where it is produced from the gluon fusion production via the mixing with the standard model like Higgs boson. We find that the cross section of the diphoton process can be obtained to be a few fb level by taking the masses of new charged particles to be about 375 GeV and related coupling constants to be order 1.

The 750 GeV diphoton excess and its explanation in 2-Higgs Doublet Models with a real inert scalar multiplet

We discuss a possible explanation of the recently observed diphoton excess at around 750 GeV as seen by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider. We calculate the cross section of the diphoton signature in 2-Higgs Doublet Models with the addition of a real isospin scalar multiplet without a vacuum expectation value, where a neutral component of such a representation can be a dark matter candidate. We find that the branching fraction of an additional CP-even Higgs boson $H$ from the doublet fields into the diphoton mode can be significantly enhanced, by up to a factor of $10^3$, with respect to the case of the simple 2-Higgs Doublet Model. Such a sizable enhancement is realized due to multi-charged inert particle loops entering the $H\to γγ$ decay mode. Through this enhancement, we obtain a suitable cross section of the $gg\to H \to γγ$ process to explain the data with the fixed mass of $H$ being 750 GeV.

Constraints on Parameter Space from Perturbative Unitarity in Models with Three Scalar Doublets

We calculate an $s$-wave amplitude matrix for all the possible 2--to--2 body scalar boson elastic scatterings in models with three scalar doublets, including contributions from the longitudinal component of weak gauge bosons via the Equivalence Theorem Approximation. Specifically, we concentrate on the two cases with two[one] active plus one[two] inert doublet fields, referred to as I(1+2)HDM[I(2+1)HDM], under CP conservation. We obtain three analytically irreducible sub-matrices with the $3\times 3$ form and eighteen eigenvalues for the amplitude matrix as an independent set, where the same formula can be applied to both models. By requiring a perturbative unitarity condition, we can constrain the magnitude of quartic coupling constants in the Higgs potential. This constraint, in particular in the I(1+2)HDM, can be translated into a bound on masses of extra active scalar bosons. Furthermore, when Standard Model-like Higgs boson couplings with weak gauge bosons are deviated from the Standard Model predictions, the unitarity condition provides an upper limit on the masses. We find that stronger upper bounds on the masses of the active CP-even and CP-odd Higgs bosons are obtained under the constraints from the unitarity and vacuum stability conditions, as well as the electroweak $S$, $T$ and $U$ parameters, as compared to those in 2-Higgs Doublet Models with a softly-broken $Z_2$ symmetry.

Enhancement of the $H^\pm W^\mp Z$ vertex in the three scalar doublet model

We compute one-loop induced trilinear vertices with physical charged Higgs bosons $H^\pm$ and ordinary gauge bosons, i.e., $H^\pm W^\mp Z$ and $H^\pm W^\mp γ$, in the model with two active plus one inert scalar doublet fields under a $Z_2(\text{unbroken})\times \tilde{Z}_2(\text{softly-broken})$ symmetry. The $Z_2$ and $\tilde{Z}_2$ symmetries are introduced to guarantee the stability of a dark matter candidate and to forbid the flavour changing neutral current at the tree level, respectively. The dominant form factor $F_Z$ of the $H^\pm W^\mp Z$ vertex can be enhanced by non-decoupling effects of extra scalar boson loop contributions. We find that, in such a model, $|F_Z|^2$ can be one order of magnitude larger than that predicted in two Higgs doublet models under the constraints from vacuum stability, perturbative unitarity and the electroweak precision observables. In addition, the branching fraction of the $H^\pm \to W^\pm Z$ $(H^\pm \to W^\pm γ)$ mode can be of order 10~(1)\% level when the mass of $H^\pm$ is below the top quark mass. Such a light $H^\pm$ is allowed by the so-called Type-I and Type-X Yukawa interactions which appear under the classification of the $\tilde{Z}$ charge assignment of the quarks and leptons. We also calculate the cross sections for the processes $H^\pm \to W^\pm Z$ and $H^\pm \to W^\pm γ$ onset by the top quark decay $t\to H^\pm b$ and electroweak $H^\pm$ production at the LHC.

Fingerprinting the extended Higgs sector using one-loop corrected Higgs boson couplings and future precision measurements

We calculate radiative corrections to a full set of coupling constants for the 125 GeV Higgs boson at the one-loop level in two Higgs doublet models with four types of Yukawa interaction under the softly-broken discrete $Z_2$ symmetry. The renormalization calculations are performed in the on-shell scheme, in which the gauge dependence in the mixing parameter which appears in the previous calculation is consistently avoided. We first show the details of our renormalizaton scheme, and present the complete set of the analytic formulae of the renormalized couplings. We then numerically demonstrate how the inner parameters of the model can be extracted by the future precision measurements of these couplings at the high luminosity LHC and the International Linear Collider.

Flavour Dependent Gauged Radiative Neutrino Mass Model

We propose a one-loop induced radiative neutrino mass model with anomaly free flavour dependent gauge symmetry: $μ$ minus $τ$ symmetry $U(1)_{μ-τ}$. A neutrino mass matrix satisfying current experimental data can be obtained by introducing a weak isospin singlet scalar boson that breaks $U(1)_{μ-τ}$ symmetry, an inert doublet scalar field, and three right-handed neutrinos in addition to the fields in the standard model. We find that a characteristic structure appears in the neutrino mass matrix: two-zero texture form which predicts three non-zero neutrino masses and three non-zero CP-phases from five well measured experimental inputs of two squared mass differences and three mixing angles. Furthermore, it is clarified that only the inverted mass hierarchy is allowed in our model. In a favored parameter set from the neutrino sector, the discrepancy in the muon anomalous magnetic moment between the experimental data and the the standard model prediction can be explained by the additional neutral gauge boson loop contribution with mass of order 100 MeV and new gauge coupling of order $10^{-3}$.

Higgs boson couplings as a probe of new physics

Precise measurements of various coupling constants of the 125 GeV Higgs boson $h$ are one of the most important and solid methods to determine the structure of the Higgs sector. If we find deviations in the $h$ coupling constants from the standard model predictions, it can be an indirect evidence of the existence of additional Higgs bosons in non-minimal Higgs sectors. Furthermore, we can distinguish non-minimal Higgs sectors by measuring a pattern of deviations in various $h$ couplings. In this talk, we show patterns of the deviations in several simple non-minimal Higgs sectors, especially for the gauge $hVV$ and Yukawa $hf\bar{f}$ couplings. This talk is based on the paper [1].

Higgs Triplet Model with Classically Conformal Invariance

We discuss an extension of the minimal Higgs triplet model with a classically conformal invariance and with a gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry. In our scenario, tiny masses of neutrinos are generated by a hybrid contribution from the type-I and type-II seesaw mechanisms. The shape of the Higgs potential at low energies is determined by solving one-loop renormalization group equations for all the scalar quartic couplings with a set of initial values of parameters at the Planck scale. We find a successful set of the parameters in which the $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry is radiatively broken via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism at the ${\cal O}$(10) TeV scale, and the electroweak symmetry breaking is also triggered by the $U(1)_{B-L}$ breaking. Under this configuration, we can predict various low energy observables such as the mass spectrum of extra Higgs bosons, and the mixing angles. Furthermore, using these predicted mass parameters, we obtain upper limits on Yukawa couplings among an isospin triplet Higgs field and lepton doublets from lepton flavor violation data.

Lepton-Specific Two Higgs Doublet Model as a Solution of Muon $g-2$ Anomaly

We discuss the Type-X (lepton-specific) two Higgs doublet model as a solution of the anomaly of the muon $g-2$. We consider various experimental constraints on the parameter space such as direct searches for extra Higgs bosons at the LEP II and the LHC Run-I, electroweak precision observables, the decay of $B_s \to μ^+μ^-$, and the leptonic decay of the tau lepton. We find that the measurement of the tau decay provides the most important constraint, which excludes the parameter region that can explain the muon $g-2$ anomaly at the 1$σ$ level. We then discuss the phenomenology of extra Higgs bosons and the standard model-like Higgs boson ($h$) to probe the scenario favored by the $g-2$ data at the collider experiments. We find that the $4τ$, $3τ$ and $4τ+ W/Z$ signatures are expected as the main signal of the extra Higgs bosons at the LHC. In addition, we clarify that the value of the $hττ$ coupling is predicted to be the standard model value times about $-1.6$ to $-1.0$, and the branching fraction of the $h\to γγ$ mode deviates from the standard model prediction by $-30\%$ to $-15\%$. Furthermore, we find that the exotic decay mode, $h$ decaying into the $Z$ boson and a light CP-odd scalar boson, is allowed, and its branching fraction can be a few percent. These deviations in the property of $h$ will be tested by the precision measurements at future collider experiments.

Leptophobic $Z'$ in Models with Multiple Higgs Doublet Fields

We study the collider phenomenology of the leptophobic $Z'$ boson from an extra $U(1)'$ gauge symmetry in models with $N$-Higgs doublet fields. We assume that the $Z'$ boson at tree level has (i) no $Z$-$Z'$ mixing, (ii) no interaction with charged leptons, and (iii) no flavour-changing neutral current. Under such a setup, it is shown that in the $N=1$ case, all the $U(1)'$ charges of left-handed quark doublets and right-handed up- and down-type quarks are required to be the same, while in the $N \ge 3$ case one can take different charges for the three types of quarks. The $N=2$ case is not well-defined under the above three requirements. We study the $pp\to Z'V\to b\bar{b}V$ processes ($V=γ,~Z$ and $W^\pm$) with the leptonic decays of $Z$ and $W^\pm$ at the LHC. The most promising discovery channel or the most stringent constraint on the $U(1)'$ gauge coupling constant comes from the $Z'γ$ process below the $t\bar{t}$ threshold and from the $t\bar{t}$ process above the threshold. Assuming the collision energy of 8 TeV and the integrated luminosity of 19.6 fb$^{-1}$, we find that the constraint from the $Z'γ$ search in the lower mass regime can be stronger than that from the UA2 experiment. In the $N \ge 3$ case, we consider four benchmark points for the $Z'$ couplings with quarks. It is noted that if such a $Z'$ is discovered, a careful comparison between the $Z'γ$ and $Z'W$ signals is crucial to reveal the nature of $Z'$ couplings with quarks. We also present the discovery reach of the $Z'$ boson at the 14-TeV LHC in both $N=1$ and $N\geq 3$ cases.

LHC Run-I constraint on the mass of doubly charged Higgs bosons in the same-sign diboson decay scenario

In this Letter, we study the latest bound on the mass of doubly charged Higgs bosons, $H^{\pm\pm}$, assuming that they dominantly decay into a diboson. The new bound is obtained by comparing the inclusive searches for events with a same-sign dilepton by the ATLAS Collaboration using the latest 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ data at the LHC 8 TeV run with theoretical prediction based on the Higgs triplet model with next-to-leading order QCD corrections. We find that the lower mass bound on $H^{\pm\pm}$ is about 84 GeV.

Radiative corrections to the Higgs boson couplings in the model with an additional real singlet scalar field

We calculate renormalized Higgs boson couplings with gauge bosons and fermions at the one-loop level in the model with an additional isospin singlet real scalar field. These coupling constants can deviate from the predictions in the standard model due to tree-level mixing effects and one-loop contributions of the extra neutral scalar boson. We investigate how they can be significant under the theoretical constraints from perturbative unitarity and vacuum stability and also the condition of avoiding the wrong vacuum. Furthermore, comparing with the predictions in the Type I two Higgs doublet model, we numerically demonstrate how the singlet extension model can be distinguished and identified by using precision measurements of the Higgs boson couplings at future collider experiments.

Three-loop Neutrino Mass Model with Doubly Charged Particles from Iso-Doublets

We propose a new type of a three-loop induced neutrino mass model with dark matter candidates which are required for the neutrino mass generation. The smallness of neutrino masses can be naturally explained without introducing super heavy particles, namely, much heavier than a TeV scale and quite small couplings as compared to the gauge couplings. We find that as a bonus, the anomaly of the muon anomalous magnetic moment can simultaneously be explained by loop effects of new particles. In our model, there are doubly charged scalar bosons and leptons from isospin doublet fields which give characteristic collider signatures. In particular, the doubly charged scalar bosons can decay into the same-sign dilepton with its chirality of both right-handed or left- and right-handed. This can be a smoking gun signature to identify our model and be useful to distinguish other models with doubly charged scalar bosons at collider experiments.

Unitarity bound in the most general two Higgs doublet model

We investigate unitarity bounds in the most general two Higgs doublet model without a discrete $Z_2$ symmetry nor CP conservation. S-wave amplitudes for two-body elastic scatterings of Nambu-Goldstone bosons and physical Higgs bosons are calculated at high energies for all possible initial and final states (14 neutral, 8 singly-charged and 3 doubly-charged states). We obtain analytic formulae for the block-diagonalized scattering matrix by the classification of the two body scattering states using the conserved quantum numbers at high energies. Imposing the condition of perturbative unitarity to the eigenvalues of the scattering matrix, constraints on the model parameters can be obtained. We apply our results to constrain the mass range of the next--to--lightest Higgs state in the model.

Bounds on the mass of doubly-charged Higgs bosons in the same-sign diboson decay scenario

A direct search for doubly-charged Higgs bosons $H^{\pm\pm}$ is one of the most important probe in the Higgs Triplet Model, which is motivated by generation mechanisms of tiny neutrino masses. There are two major decay modes of $H^{\pm\pm}$; i.e., the same-sign dilepton decay $H^{\pm\pm}\to\ell^\pm\ell^\pm$ and the same-sign diboson decay $H^{\pm\pm}\to W^{\pm(*)}W^{\pm(*)}$. For the case where the former decay mode is dominant, the lower limit on the mass of $H^{\pm\pm}$ has been set at about 400 GeV by ATLAS and CMS Collaborations. On the other hand, for the case where the latter decay mode is dominant, no dedicated search has been performed in the past. By taking into account characteristic signals of $H^{\pm\pm}$ in the diboson decay scenario at LEP and the LHC experiments, we find that the lower mass bound of 60-68 GeV can be obtained using the same-sign dilepton search performed by ATLAS Collaboration with 4.7 fb$^{-1}$ data at the collision energy of 7 TeV. We also show that the limit can be extended up to about 85-90 GeV, assuming the integrated luminosity of 20 fb$^{-1}$ and 7 TeV for the collision energy. We give detailed explanations on the decay properties of $H^{\pm\pm}$ for relatively small mass cases and also on production cross sections of $H^{\pm\pm}$ at the next-to-leading order of QCD at the LHC.

Doubly-charged Higgs bosons in the diboson decay scenario at the ILC

The Higgs Triplet Model (HTM) is one of important examples for extended Higgs sectors, because tiny neutrino masses can be simply explained. Unlike the canonical type-I seesaw model, a scale of new particles can be taken as $\mathcal{O}(100)$ GeV keeping an enough amount of production cross section for direct searches at collider experiments. In the HTM, there appear doubly-charged Higgs bosons $H^{\pm\pm}$, and detection of them is a key to probe the model. The decay property of $H^{\pm\pm}$ depends on the magnitude of the vacuum expectation value of the triplet field $v_Δ$. When $v_Δ$ is smaller than about 1 MeV, $H^{\pm\pm}$ can mainly decay into the same-sign dilepton, and the lower mass limit for $H^{\pm\pm}$ had been taken to be about 400 GeV at the LHC. On the other hand, if $v_Δ$ is larger than about 1 MeV, $H^{\pm\pm}$ can mainly decay into the same-sign diboson. In this case, the mass bound cannot be applied, so that the scenario based on light $H^{\pm\pm}$ is still possible. In this talk, we discuss the phenomenology of the same-sign diboson decay scenario of $H^{\pm\pm}$. First, we review the mass bound from the current collider experiments given in Ref. \cite{KYY}. We then discuss the strategy for detection of $H^{\pm\pm}$ at the ILC.

Electron/Muon Specific Two Higgs Doublet Model

We discuss two Higgs doublet models with a softly-broken discrete $\mathbb{S}_3$ symmery, where the mass matrix for charged-leptons is predicted as the diagonal form in the weak eigenbasis of lepton fields. Similar to an introduction of $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry, the tree level flavor changing neutral current can be forbidden by imposing the $\mathbb{S}_3$ symmetry to the model. Under the $\mathbb{S}_3$ symmetry, there are four types of Yukawa interactions depending on the $\mathbb{S}_3$ charge assignment to right-handed fermions. We find that extra Higgs bosons can be muon and electron specific in one of four types of the Yukawa interaction. This property does not appear in any other two Higgs doublet models with a softly-broken ${\mathbb Z}_2$ symmetry. We discuss the phenomenology of the muon and electron specific Higgs bosons at the Large Hadron Collider; namely we evaluate allowed parameter regions from the current Higgs boson search data and discovery potential of such a Higgs boson at the 14 TeV run.

Fingerprinting non-minimal Higgs sectors

After the discovery of the standard-model-like Higgs boson at the LHC, the structure of the Higgs sector remains unknown. We discuss how it can be determined by the combination of direct and indirect searches for additional Higgs bosons at future collider experiments. First of all, we evaluate expected excluded regions for the mass of additional neutral Higgs bosons from direct searches at the LHC with the 14 TeV collision energy in the two Higgs doublet models with a softly-broken $Z_2$ symmetry. Second, precision measurements of the Higgs boson couplings at future experiments can be used for the indirect search of extended Higgs sectors if measured coupling constant with the gauge boson slightly deviates from the standard model value. In particular, in the two Higgs doublet model with the softly-broken discrete symmetry, there are four types of Yukawa interactions, so that they can be discriminated by measuring the pattern of deviations in Yukawa coupling constants. Furthermore, we can fingerprint various extended Higgs sectors with future precision data by detecting the pattern of deviations in the coupling constants of the standard-model-like Higgs boson. We demonstrate how the pattern of deviations can be different among various Higgs sectors which predict the electroweak rho parameter to be unity; such as models with additional an isospin singlet, a doublet, triplets or a septet. We conclude that as long as the gauge coupling constant of the Higgs boson slightly differs from the standard model prediction but is enough to be detected at the LHC and its high-luminosity run or at the International Linear Collider, we can identify the non-minimal Higgs sector even without direct discovery of additional Higgs bosons at the LHC.

Inert Extension of the Zee-Babu Model

We propose a two-loop induced Zee-Babu type neutrino mass model at the TeV scale. Although there is no dark matter candidate in the original Zee-Babu model, that is contained in our model by introducing an unbroken discrete $Z_2$ symmetry. The discrepancy between the experimental value of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon $g-2$) and its prediction in the standard model can be explained by contributions from additional vector-like charged-leptons which are necessary to give non-zero neutrino masses. The mass of vector-like leptons to be slightly above 300 GeV is favored and allowed from the muon $g-2$ and the current LHC data. We find that from the structure of neutrino mass matrix, doubly-charged scalar bosons in our model can mainly decay into the same-sign and same-flavour dilepton plus missing transverse momentum. By measuring an excess of these events at the LHC, our model can be distinguished from the other models including doubly-charged scalar bosons.

Novel Constraint on Parameter Space of the Georgi-Machacek Model by Current LHC Data

The same-sign diboson process $pp\to W^\pm W^\pm jj$ has been measured at the LHC using leptonic decay channels of the $W$ bosons, with production cross sections of two fiducial regions reported to be consistent with the standard model expectations within 1 sigma. These results constrain new physics models with a modified $W^+W^+W^-W^-$ vertex. We consider in particular the Georgi-Machacek model in which the quartic $W$ boson vertex is effectively modified due to mediations of new Higgs bosons in the model. The relevant gauge-gauge-scalar couplings are all proportional to the vacuum expectation value of the isospin triplets, which can be of $\mathcal{O}(10)$ GeV because of custodial vacuum alignment. Using the current 8-TeV data at the LHC, we exclude parameter space on the plane of the triplet vacuum expectation value and the new Higgs boson mass. The expected discovery reach at the 14-TeV LHC is also studied.

Phenomenology of $E_6$-Inspired Leptophobic $Z'$ Boson at the LHC

We study collider phenomenology of a leptophobic $Z'$ boson existing in eight scenarios of the $E_6$ grand unified theory, differing in particle embeddings. We first review the current bound on the $Z'$ mass $m_{Z'}$ based upon the LHC data of $pp\to t\bar{t}$ process at 8 TeV collisions with an integrated luminosity of 19.6 fb$^{-1}$. Most scenarios have a lower bound of about 1 TeV. However, this constraint does not apply to the case where $m_{Z'} < 2 m_t$, and other methods need to be employed for this lower mass regime. Using existing UA2 constraints and dijet data at the LHC, we find that only one of the eight scenarios is excluded at 95\% confidence level. No bound can be obtained from $Wjj$ and $Zjj$ measurements. We propose to use the photon associated production of the $Z'$ boson that subsequently decays into a pair of bottom quarks, $pp\to Z'γ\to b\bar{b}γ$, at the LHC to explore the constraints in the lower mass regime. We compute the expected signal significance as a function of $m_{Z'}$ using detailed simulations of signal and irreducible background events. We find constraints for two more scenarios using the 8-TeV data and taking appropriate kinematical cuts. We also show the discovery reach for each scenario at the 14-TeV LHC machine.

Radiative corrections to the Yukawa coupling constants in two Higgs doublet models

We calculate one-loop corrected Yukawa coupling constants $hf\bar{f}$ for the standard model like Higgs boson $h$ in two Higgs doublet models. We focus on the models with the softly-broken $Z_2$ symmetry, which is imposed to avoid the flavor changing neutral current. Under the $Z_2$ symmetry, there are four types of Yukawa interactions. We find that one-loop contributions from extra Higgs bosons modify the $hf\bar{f}$ couplings to be maximally about $5\%$ under the constraint from perturbative unitarity and vacuum stability. Our results show that the pattern of tree-level deviations by the mixing effect in each type of Yukawa couplings from the SM predictions does not change even including radiative corrections. Moreover, when the gauge couplings $hVV$ ($V=W,Z$) are found to be slightly (with a percent level) differ from the SM predictions, the $hf\bar{f}$ couplings also deviate but more largely. Therefore, in such a case, not only can we determine the type of Yukawa couplings but also we can obtain information on the extra Higgs bosons by comparing the predictions with precisely measured $hf\bar{f}$ and $hVV$ couplings at future electron-positron colliders.

Radiative Generation of Lepton Masses with the $U(1)'$ Gauge Symmetry

We revisit our previous model proposed in Ref. \cite{Okada:2013iba}, in which lepton masses except the tauon mass are generated at the one-loop level in a TeV scale physics. Although in the previous work, rather large Yukawa couplings constants; i.e., greater than about 3, are required to reproduce the muon mass, we do not need to introduce such a large but ${\cal O}$(1) couplings. In our model, masses for neutrinos (charged-leptons) are generated by a dimension five effective operator with two isospin triplet (singlet and doublet) scalar fields. Thus, the mass hierarchy between neutrinos and charged-leptons can be naturally described by the difference in the number of vacuum expectation values (VEVs) of the triplet fields which must be much smaller than the VEV of the doublet field due to the constraint from the electroweak rho parameter. Furthermore, the discrepancy in the measured muon anomalous magnetic moment ($g-2$) from the prediction in the standard model are explained by one-loop contributions from vector-like extra charged-leptons which are necessary to obtain the radiative generation of the lepton masses. We study the decay property of the extra leptons by taking into account the masses of muon, neutrinos, muon $g-2$ and dark matter physics. We find that the extra leptons can mainly decay into the mono-muon, dark matter with or without $Z$ bosons in the favored parameter regions.

Radiative Generation of the Lepton Mass

We propose a new mechanism where both Dirac masses for the charged-leptons and Majorana masses for neutrinos are generated via quantum levels. The charged-lepton masses are given by the vacuum expectation values (VEVs) of the Higgs doublet field and that of a triplet field. On the other hand, neutrino masses are generated by two VEVs of triplet Higgs fields. As a result, the hierarchy between the masses for charged-leptons and neutrinos can be explained by the triplet VEVs which have to be much smaller than the doublet VEV due to the constraint from the electroweak rho parameter. We construct a concrete model to realize this mechanism with discrete $\mathbb{Z}_2$ and $\mathbb{Z}_4$ symmetries, in which masses for neutrinos and those for the muon and electron are generated at the one-loop level. As a bonus in our model, the deviation in the measured muon $g-2$ from the standard model prediction can be explained by contributions of extra particle loops. Besides, the lightest $\mathbb{Z}_2$-odd neutral particle can be a dark matter candidate. The collider phenomenology is also discussed, especially focusing on doubly-charged scalar bosons which are necessary to introduce to occur our mechanism.

$T_7$ Flavor Model in Three Loop Seesaw and Higgs Phenomenology

We propose a new type of radiative seesaw model in which observed neutrino masses are generated through a three-loop level diagram in combination with tree-level type-II seesaw mechanism in a renormalizable theory. We introduce a Non-abelian flavor symmetry $T_7$ in order to constrain the form of Yukawa interactions and Higgs potential. Although several models based on a Non-abelian flavor symmetry predict the universal coupling constants among the standard model like Higgs boson and charged leptons, which is disfavored by the current LHC data, our model can avoid such a situation. We show a benchmark parameter set that is consistent with the current experimental data, and we discuss multi-muon events as a key collider signature to probe our model.

Enhancements of weak gauge boson scattering processes at the CERN LHC

Current CERN Large Hadron Collider data on the 126 GeV standard model-like Higgs boson suggest the possibility of larger Higgs boson couplings with the weak gauge bosons, $g_{hVV}$, than those in the standard model. We use the Georgi-Machacek model as an explicit model to realize such a scenario. We find that the $g_{hVV}$ couplings can be larger than the standard model value by a factor of about 1.3 maximally in the parameter region consistent with the current Higgs boson search data and allowed by various other constraints. We then show how the modified $g_{hVV}$ couplings lead to enhancements in various weak boson scattering processes. This can be clearly observed as excesses in the transverse mass distributions at around 126 GeV and also the mass of heavy Higgs bosons.

First constraint on the mass of doubly-charged Higgs bosons in the same-sign diboson decay scenario at the LHC

When the doubly-charged Higgs bosons $H^{\pm\pm}$ mainly decay into the same-sign dilepton, a lower bound on the mass is around 400 GeV by the current LHC data. On the other hand, no such bound has been reported by using the data at LEP and at the LHC for the case where the same-sign diboson decay $H^{\pm\pm}\to W^{\pm(*)} W^{\pm(*)}$ is dominant. We study limits on the mass for such a case by using the current experimental data. From the precise measurement of the total width of the Z boson at the LEP experiment, the mass below 43 GeV is excluded with the 95% C.L. It turns out that the results from four charged lepton searches at LEP do not provide any significant constraint. We show that a new lower bound is obtained in the diboson decay scenario at the LHC with the collision energy to be 7 TeV and the integrated luminosity to be 4.7 fb$^{-1}$. By using the data of the same-sign dilepton events, the lower limit is found to be 60 GeV at the 95% C.L. By the extrapolation of the data to 20 fb$^{-1}$ with the same collision energy, the lower limit is evaluated to be 85 GeV.

Higgs boson decays to $γγ$ and $Z γ$ in models with Higgs extensions

The decays of a Higgs boson to the $γγ$ and $Zγ$ final states are purely quantum mechanical phenomena that are closely related to each other. We study the effects of an extended Higgs sector on the decay rates of the two modes. We propose that a simultaneous determination of them and the $ZZ$ mode is a useful way to see whether the Higgs boson recently observed by the LHC experiments is of the standard model type or could be a member of a larger Higgs sector.

Higgs sectors with exotic scalar fields

The discovery of the Higgs boson like particle with the mass of around 126 GeV has given us a great clue to know what is the true Higgs sector. New physics models at the TeV scale often introduce Higgs sectors extended from the minimal form, so that the determination of the Higgs sector can be a probe of new physics models. In this talk, we focus on the Higgs sector with exotic representation fields whose isospin is larger than 1/2. We first discuss the general features of exotic Higgs sectors, and then we consider several concrete models to clarify them. The phenomenology of the Higgs triplet model is discussed as the simple but important example.

Implications of Higgs boson search data on the two-Higgs doublet models with a softly broken $Z_2$ symmetry

Based on current data of the Higgs boson search at the Large Hadron Collider, we constrain the parameter space of the two-Higgs doublet models where a softly broken $Z_2$ symmetry is employed to avoid flavor-changing neutral currents at tree level. There are four types of Yukawa interactions under the $Z_2$ charge assignments of the standard model fermions. We find that the model with type-II Yukawa interactions can better explain the experimental data among all. In this scenario, the couplings of the light CP-even Higgs boson $h$ with weak gauge bosons are almost standard model-like or only slightly different in a small range of $\tanβ$. In particular, we scrutinize a well-constrained region previously ignored by other analyses and study the phenomenology of the extra Higgs bosons at the Large Hadron Collider.

Probing exotic Higgs sectors from the precise measurement of Higgs boson couplings

We study coupling constants of the standard model like Higgs boson with the gauge bosons $hZZ$ and $hWW$ and fermions $hf\bar{f}$ in the general Higgs sector which contains higher isospin representations with arbitrary hypercharge. In Higgs sectors with exotic Higgs representations, the $hZZ$ and $hWW$ coupling constants can be larger than those in the standard model. We calculate deviations in the Higgs boson couplings from standard model values in the model with a real or complex triplet field, the Georgi-Machacek model and the model with a septet scalar field. We also study deviations in the event rates of $h\to ZZ^*$, $h\to WW^*$, $h\to γγ$, $h\to b\bar{b}$ and $h\to ττ$ channels.

Two Loop Radiative Seesaw Model with Inert Triplet Scalar Field

We propose a radiative seesaw model with an inert triplet scalar field in which Majorana neutrino masses are generated at the two loop level. There are fermionic or bosonic dark matter candidates in the model. We find that each candidate can satisfy the WMAP data when its mass is taken to be around the half of the mass of the standard model like Higgs boson. We also discuss phenomenology of the inert triplet scalar bosons, especially focusing on the doubly-charged scalar bosons at Large Hadron Collider in parameter regions constrained by the electroweak precision data and WMAP data. Radiative corrections to electroweak parameters in the Higgs triplet model and implication with the recent Higgs boson searches

We study radiative corrections to the electroweak parameters in the Higgs model with the Y=1 triplet field, which is introduced in the scenario of generating neutrino masses based on the so-called type II seesaw mechanism. In this model, the rho parameter deviates from unity at the tree level. Consequently, the electroweak sector of the model is described by the four input parameters such as $α_{\text{em}}$, $G_F$, $m_Z$ and $\sin^2θ_W$. We calculate the one loop contribution to the W boson mass as well as to the rho parameter in order to clarify the possible mass spectrum of the extra Higgs bosons under the constraint from the electroweak precision data. We find that the hierarchical mass spectrum among $H^{\pm\pm}$, $H^{\pm}$ and $A$ (or $H$) is favored by the precision data especially for the case of $m_A$ $(\simeq m_H)>m_{H^+}>m_{H^{++}}$, where $H^{\pm\pm}$, $H^{\pm}$, $A$ and $H$ are the doubly-charged, singly-charged, CP-odd and CP-even Higgs bosons mainly originated from the triplet field. We also discuss phenomenological consequences of such a mass spectrum with relatively large mass splitting. The decay rate of the Higgs boson decay into two photons is evaluated under the constraint from the electroweak precision data, regarding the recent Higgs boson searches at the CERN LHC.

Radiative corrections to the Higgs boson couplings in the triplet model

We calculate a full set of one-loop corrections to the Higgs boson coupling constants as well as the electroweak parameters. We compute the decay rate of the standard model (SM)-like Higgs boson ($h$) into diphoton. Renormalized Higgs couplings with the weak gauge bosons $hVV$ ($V=W$ and $Z$) and the trilinear coupling $hhh$ are also calculated at the one-loop level in the on-shell scheme. Magnitudes of the deviations in these quantities are evaluated in the parameter regions where the unitarity and vacuum stability bounds are satisfied and the predicted W boson mass at the one-loop level is consistent with the data. We find that there are strong correlations among deviations in the Higgs boson couplings $hγγ$, $hVV$ and $hhh$. For example, if the event number of the $pp\to h\toγγ$ channel deviates by +30% (-40%) from the SM prediction, deviations in the one-loop corrected $hVV$ and $hhh$ vertices are predicted about -0.1% (-2%) and -10% $(+150%)$, respectively. The model can be discriminated from the other models by measuring these coupling constants accurately at future collider experiments.

Renormalization of the Higgs sector in the triplet model

We study radiative corrections to the mass spectrum and the triple Higgs boson coupling in the model with an additional Y=1 triplet field. In this model, the vacuum expectation value for the triplet field is strongly constrained from the electroweak precision data, under which characteristic mass spectrum appear at the tree level; i.e., $m_{H^{++}}^2-m_{H^+}^2\simeq m_{H^+}^2-m_A^2$ and $m_A^2\simeq m_H^2$, where the CP-even ($H$), the CP-odd ($A$) and the doubly-charged ($H^{\pm\pm}$) as well as the singly-charged ($H^\pm$) Higgs bosons are the triplet-like. We evaluate how the tree-level formulae are modified at the one-loop level. The $hhh$ coupling for the standard model-like Higgs boson ($h$) is also calculated at the one-loop level. One-loop corrections to these quantities can be large enough for identification of the model by future precision data at the LHC or the International Linear Collider.

Testing the custodial symmetry in the Higgs sector of the Georgi-Machacek model

We study how the custodial symmetry in the Higgs sector of the Georgi-Machacek (GM) model can be tested at the LHC. As the minimal extension of the Higgs triplet model, in which tiny neutrino masses are generated via the Type-II Seesaw Mechanism, the GM model keeps the electroweak $ρ$ parameter at unity at tree level. In the GM model, there are 5-plet ($H_5$), 3-plet ($H_3$) and singlet ($H_1$) Higgs bosons under the classification of the custodial $SU(2)_V$ symmetry, in addition to the standard model-like Higgs boson ($h$). These new Higgs bosons have the following characteristic features at the tree level: (1) the masses of the Higgs bosons belonging to the same $SU(2)_V$ multiplet are degenerate; and (2) $H_5$ and $H_1$ couple to the electroweak gauge bosons but not SM quarks, whereas $H_3$ couples to the quarks but not the gauge bosons. We find that the $H_5$ production from the weak vector boson fusion process and the Drell-Yan process associated with $H_3$ are useful in testing the custodial symmetry of the Higgs sector at the LHC. In addition, these processes can also be used to discriminate from other models that contain singly-charged Higgs bosons and extra neutral Higgs bosons. We also investigate a possible enhancement in the $h\to γγ$ as well as $h\to Zγ$ decays.

Testing the Higgs triplet model with the mass difference at the LHC

In general, there can be mass differences among scalar bosons of the Higgs triplet field with the hypercharge of Y=1. In the Higgs triplet model, when the vacuum expectation value $v_Δ$ of the triplet field is much smaller than that $v$ ($\simeq 246$ GeV) of the Higgs doublet field as required by the electroweak precision data, a characteristic mass spectrum $ m_{H^{++}}^2-m_{H^+}^2\simeq m_{H^+}^2-m_{ϕ^0}^2(\equiv ξ)$ appears, where $m_{H^{++}}$, $m_{H^+}$, $m_{ϕ^0}$ are the masses of the doubly-charged ($H^{++}$), the singly-charged ($H^+$) and the neutral ($ϕ^0=H^0$ or $A^0$) scalar bosons, respectively. It should be emphasized that phenomenology with $ξ\neq 0$ is drastically different from that in the case with $ξ=0$ where the doubly-charged scalar boson decays into the same sign dilepton $\ell^+\ell^+$ or the diboson $W^+W^+$ depending on the size of $v_Δ$. We find that, in the case of $ξ> 0$, where $H^{++}$ is the heaviest, $H^{++}$ can be identified via the cascade decays such as $H^{++}\to H^+W^{+(*)}\to ϕ^0 W^{+(*)}W^{+(*)}\to b\bar{b}\ell^+ν\ell^+ν$. We outline how the Higgs triplet model can be explored in such a case at the LHC. By the determination of the mass spectrum, the model can be tested and further can be distinguished from the other models with doubly-charged scalar bosons.

Decoupling property of the supersymmetric Higgs sector with four doublets

In supersymmetric standard models with multi Higgs doublet fields, selfcoupling constants in the Higgs potential come only from the D-terms at the tree level. We investigate the decoupling property of additional two heavier Higgs doublet fields in the supersymmetric standard model with four Higgs doublets. In particular, we study how they can modify the predictions on the quantities well predicted in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), when the extra doublet fields are rather heavy to be measured at collider experiments. The B-term mixing between these extra heavy Higgs bosons and the relatively light MSSM-like Higgs bosons can significantly change the predictions in the MSSM such as on the masses of MSSM-like Higgs bosons as well as the mixing angle for the two light CP-even scalar states. We first give formulae for deviations in the observables of the MSSM in the decoupling region for the extra two doublet fields. We then examine possible deviations in the Higgs sector numerically, and discuss their phenomenological implications.

Doubly-charged scalar bosons from the doublet

We consider the extended Higgs models, in which one of the isospin doublet scalar fields carries the hypercharge Y=3/2. Such a doublet field $Φ_{3/2}$ is composed of a doubly charged scalar boson as well as a singly charged one. We first discuss a simple model with $Φ_{3/2}$ (Model I), and study its collider phenomenology at the LHC. We then consider a new model for radiatively generating neutrino masses with a dark matter candidate (Model II), in which $Φ_{3/2}$ and an extra Y=1/2 doublet as well as vector-like singlet fermions carry the odd quantum number for an unbroken discrete $Z_2$ symmetry. We also discuss the neutrino mass model (Model III), in which the exact $Z_2$ parity in Model II is softly broken. It is found that the doubly charged scalar bosons in these models show different phenomenological aspects from those which appear in models with a Y=2 isospin singlet field or a Y=1 triplet one. They could be clearly distinguished at the LHC.

Light Charged Higgs bosons at the LHC in 2HDMs

We present a discussion of light charged Higgs boson searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in CP-conserving 2-Higgs Doublet Models (2HDMs). Taking into account all available experimental and theoretical constraints we review all possible processes that would allow for a detection of such a particle with a mass below the top quark mass. Two different types of processes are analysed: one that depends only on tan beta and on the charged Higgs boson mass because it involves only the charged Higgs boson Yukawa couplings; the other that depends on almost all model parameters, mainly due to the presence of Higgs self-couplings. We discuss the regions of parameter space of 2HDMs that can be covered be each type of process and define some guidelines for experimental searches at the LHC.

Non-decoupling effects in supersymmetric Higgs sectors

A wide class of Higgs sectors is investigated in supersymmetric standard models. When the lightest Higgs boson (h) looks the standard model one, the mass (m_h) and the triple Higgs boson coupling (the hhh coupling) are evaluated at the one-loop level in each model. While m_h is at most 120-130 GeV in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), that in models with an additional neutral singlet or triplet fields can be much larger. The hhh coupling can also be sensitive to the models: while in the MSSM the deviation from the standard model prediction is not significant, that can be 30-60 % in some models such as the MSSM with the additional singlet or with extra doublets and charged singlets. These models are motivated by specific physics problems like the mu-problem, the neutrino mass, the scalar dark matter and so on. Therefore, when h is found at the CERN Large Hadron Collider, we can classify supersymmetric models by measuring m_h and the hhh coupling accurately at future collider experiments.

Testing Higgs models via the $H^\pm W^\mp Z$ vertex by a recoil method at the International Linear Collider

In general, charged Higgs bosons $H^\pm$ appear in non-minimal Higgs models. The $H^\pm W^\mp Z$ vertex is known to be related to the violation of the global symmetry (custodial symmetry) in the Higgs sector. Its magnitude strongly depends on the structure of the exotic Higgs models which contain higher isospin $SU(2)_L$ representations such as triplet Higgs bosons. We study the possibility of measuring the $H^\pm W^\mp Z$ vertex via single charged Higgs boson production associated with the $W^\pm$ boson at the International Linear Collider (ILC) by using the recoil method. The feasibility of the signal $e^+e^-\to H^\pm W^\mp \to \ell νjj$ is analyzed assuming the polarized electron and positron beams and the expected detector performance for the resolution of the two-jet system at the ILC. The background events can be reduced to a considerable extent by imposing the kinematic cuts even if we take into account the initial state radiation. For a relatively light charged Higgs boson whose mass $m_{H^\pm}$ is in the region of 120-130 GeV $< m_{H^\pm} < m_W+m_Z$, the $H^\pm W^\mp Z$ vertex would be precisely testable especially when the decay of $H^\pm$ is lepton specific. The exoticness of the extended Higgs sector can be explored by using combined information for this vertex and the rho parameter.

Testing the Higgs model with triplet fields at the ILC

Higgs triplet fields are introduced various new physics models such as the type-II seesaw model, the left-right symmetric model and so on. The vertex of a charged Higgs boson and weak gauge bosons, $H^\pm W^\mp Z$, appears at the tree level in these models. The magnitude of this vertex is proportional to the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of Higgs triplet fields. We discuss the possibility of measuring this vertex at the ILC and study how precisely determine the VEV of the triplet field.

Triviality and vacuum stability bounds in the three-loop neutrino mass model

We study theoretical constraints on the parameter space under the conditions from vacuum stability and triviality in the three-loop radiative seesaw model with TeV-scale right-handed neutrinos which are odd under the $Z_2$ parity. In this model, some of the neutrino Yukawa coupling constants can be of the order of one. Requirement of strongly first order phase transition for successful electroweak baryogenes is also prefers order-one coupling constants in the scalar sector. Hence, it is important to clarify whether this model satisfies those theoretical conditions up to a given cutoff scale. It is found that the model can be consistent up to the scale above 10 TeV in the parameter region where the neutrino data, the lepton flavor violation data, the thermal relic abundance of dark matter as well as the requirement from the strongly first order phase transition are satisfied.

An R-parity conserving radiative neutrino mass model without right-handed neutrinos

The model proposed by A. Zee (1986) and K.S. Babu (1988) is a simple radiative seesaw model, in which tiny neutrino masses are generated at the two-loop level. We investigate a supersymmetric extension of the Zee-Babu model under R-parity conservation. The lightest superpartner particle can then be a dark matter candidate. We find that the neutrino data can be reproduced with satisfying current data from lepton flavour violation even in the scenario where not all the superpartner particles are heavy. Phenomenology at the Large Hadron Collider is also discussed.
