Large non-factorizable contributions in $B \to a_0 a_0$ decays

We investigate three tree-dominated $B \to a_0 a_0$ decays for the first time in the perturbative QCD(pQCD) approach at leading order in the standard model, with $a_0$ standing for the light scalar $a_0(980)$ state, which is assumed as a meson based on the model of conventional two-quark$(q\bar q)$ structure. All the topologies of the Feynman diagrams such as the non-factorizable spectator ones and the annihilation ones are calculated in the pQCD approach. It is of great interest to find that, contrary to the known $B \to ππ$ decays, the $B \to a_0 a_0$ decays are governed by the large non-factorizable contributions, which give rise to the large $B \to a_0 a_0$ decay rates in the order of $10^{-6} \sim 10^{-5}$, although the $a_0$ meson has an extremely small vector decay constant $f_{a_0}$. Also observed are large direct CP-violating asymmetries around $15\%$ and $30\%$ for the $B^0 \to a_0^0 a_0^0$ and $a_0^+ a_0^-$ modes. These sizable predictions could be easily examined at the running Large Hadron Collider and the near future Super-B/Belle-II experiments. The future precision measurements combined with these pQCD predictions might be helpful to explore the complicated QCD dynamics and the inner structure of the light scalar $a_0$, as well as to complementarily constrain the unitary angle $α$.

Charmless hadronic $B \to (f_1(1285),f_1(1420)) P$ decays in the perturbative QCD approach

We study 20 charmless hadronic $B \to f_1 P$ decays in the perturbative QCD(pQCD) formalism with $f_1$ representing axial-vector mesons $f_1(1285)$ and $f_1(1420)$ that result from a mixing of quark-flavor $f_{1q}$ and $f_{1s}$ states with the angle $ϕ_{f_1}$. The estimations of branching ratios and CP asymmetries of the considered $B \to f_1 P$ decays are presented in the pQCD approach with $ϕ_{f_1} \sim 24^\circ$ from recently measured $B_{d/s} \to J/ψf_1(1285)$ decays. It is found that (a) the tree(penguin) dominant $B^+ \to f_1 π^+(K^+)$ decays with large branching ratios[${\cal O}(10^{-6})$] and large direct CP violations(around 14% $\sim$ 28% in magnitude) simultaneously are believed to be clearly measurable at the LHCb and Belle II experiments; (b) the $B_d \to f_1 K_S^0$ and $B_s \to f_1 (η, η^{\prime})$ decays with nearly pure penguin contributions and safely negligible tree pollution also have large decay rates in the order of $10^{-6} \sim 10^{-5}$, which can be confronted with the experimental measurements in the near future; (c) as the alternative channels, the $B^+ \to f_1 (π^+, K^+)$ and $B_d \to f_1 K_S^0$ decays have the supplementary power in providing more effective constraints on the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa weak phases $α$, $γ$, and $β$ correspondingly, which are explicitly analyzed through the large decay rates and the direct and mixing-induced CP asymmetries in the pQCD approach and are expected to be stringently examined by the measurements with high precision. The complete abstraction can be found in the paper.

An optical diode and magnifier from a general function photonic crystals

We have presented a new general function photonic crystals (GFPCs), which refractive index is a function of space position. Based on Fermat principle, we achieve the motion equations of light in one-dimensional general function photonic crystals, and calculate its transfer matrix. In this paper, we choose the line refractive index function for two mediums $A$ and $B$, and obtain new results: (1) when the line function of refractive indexes is up or down, the transmissivity can be far larger or smaller than 1. (2) when the refractive indexes function increase or decrease at the direction of incident light, the light intensity should be magnified or weaken, which can be made light magnifier or attenuator. (3) The GFPCs can also be made optical diode. The new general function photonic crystals can be applied to design more optical instruments.

Determination of $f_0-σ$ mixing angle through $B_s^0 \to J/Ψ~f_0(980)(σ)$ decays

We study $B_s^0 \to J/ψf_0(980)$ decays, the quark content of $f_0(980)$ and the mixing angle of $f_0(980)$ and $σ(600)$. We calculate not only the factorizable contribution in QCD facorization scheme but also the nonfactorizable hard spectator corrections in QCDF and pQCD approach. We get consistent result with the experimental data of $B_s^0 \to J/ψf_0(980)$ and predict the branching ratio of $B_s^0 \to J/ψσ$. We suggest two ways to determine $f_0-σ$ mixing angle $θ$. Using the experimental measured branching ratio of $B_s^0 \to J/ψf_0(980) $, we can get the $f_0-σ$ mixing angle $θ$ with some theoretical uncertainties. We suggest another way to determine $f_0-σ$ mixing angle $θ$ using both of experimental measured decay branching ratios $B_s^0 \to J/ψf_0(980) (σ)$ to avoid theoretical uncertainties.

Non-factorization contributions in $D\rightarrow πK, KK$ decay

We have analyzed the $D\rightarrow πK, KK$ decay with the naive factorization (NF), QCD factorization (QCDF)and QCD factorization including soft-gluon exchanges (QCDF+SGE). In these decay channels, the soft-gluon effects are firstly calculated with light cone QCD sum rules. Comparing the three kind approaches, we can find the calculation results have made much more improved QCD factorization (QCDF) than the naive factorization (NF), and the calculation results have also made improved QCD factorization including soft-gluon exchanges (QCDF+SGE) than the QCD factorization (QCDF) in the color-suppressed decay channels. In addition, we find the soft-gluon effects are larger than the leading order contributions, and the calculation results are close to the experimental data for the color-suppressed decay channels. In color-allowed decay channel $D^{0}\rightarrow π^{+} K^{-}$, the soft-gluon effects are small and we should consider other power terms, such as final state interaction and annihilation effects.

Quantum theory of light diffraction

At present, the theory of light diffraction only has the simple wave-optical approach. In this paper, we study light diffraction with the approach of relativistic quantum theory. We find that the slit length, slit width, slit thickness and wave-length of light have affected to the diffraction intensity and form of diffraction pattern. However, the effect of slit thickness on the diffraction pattern can not be explained by wave-optical approach, and it can be explained in quantum theory. We compare the theoretical results with single and multiple slits experiment data, and find the theoretical results are accordance with the experiment data. Otherwise, we give some theory prediction. We think all the new prediction will be tested by the light diffraction experiment.

Probing new physics in $B\to J/Ψπ^0$ decay

We calculate the branching ratio of $B\to J/Ψπ^{0}$ with a mixed formalism that combines the QCD-improved factorization and the perturbative QCD approaches. The result is consistent with experimental data. The quite small penguin contribution in $B\to J/Ψπ^{0}$ decay can be calculated with this method. We suggest two methods to extract the weak phase $β$. One is through the dependence of the mixing induced CP asymmetry $S_{J/Ψπ^{0}}$ on the weak phase$β$, the other is from the relation of the total asymmetry $A_{CP}$ with the weak phase $β$. Our result shows that the deviation $ \bigtriangleup S_{J/ψπ^0}$ of the mixing induced CP asymmetry from $Sin(-2β)$ is of $ \mathcal{O}(10^{-3})$ and has much less uncertainty. The above $ \mathcal{O}(10^{-3})$ deviation can provide a good reference for identifying new physics.

The study of $B\to J/Ψη^{(\prime)}$ decays and determination of $η-η^{\prime}$ mixing angle

We study $B\to J/Ψη^{(\prime)}$ decays and suggest two methods to determine the $η-η^{\prime}$ mixing angle. We calculate not only the factorizable contribution in QCD facorization scheme but also the nonfactorizable hard spectator corrections in pQCD approach. We get the branching ratio of $B\to J/Ψη$ which is consistent with recent experimental data and predict the branching ratio of $B\to J/Ψη^{\prime}$ to be $7.59\times 10^{-6}$. Two methods for determining $η-η^{\prime}$ mixing angle are suggested in this paper. For the first method, we get the $η-η^{\prime}$ mixing angle to be about $-13.1^{\circ}$, which is in consistency with others in the literature. The second method depends on less parameters so can be used to determine the $η-η^{\prime}$ mixing angle with better accuracy but needs, as an input, the branching ratio for $B\to J/Ψη^{\prime}$which should be measured in the near future.

Form Factors and semileptonic decay of $D_s^+\to ϕ\bar{\ell}ν$ from QCD sum rule

We calculate $D_s^+\to ϕ$ transition form factors $V$, $A_0$, $A_1$ and $A_2$, and study semileptonic decay of $D_s^+\to ϕ\bar{\ell}ν$ based on QCD sum rule method. We compare our results of the ratios of $V(0)/A_1(0)$, $A_2(0)/A_1(0)$, $Γ_L/Γ_T$, and the total decay branching ratio of $D_s^+\to ϕ\bar{\ell}ν$ with experimental data, and find that they are consistent.
