Three-body coupled channel framework for two-neutron halo nuclei

We study the Borromean nuclei formed by a core nucleus and two neutrons in a nonrelativistic effective field theory formalism considering both neutron-neutron and neutron-core interactions. We provide formulae of the charge and matter radii, and successfully reproduce the universal relation proposed by Hongo and Son based on the approximation of an infinite neutron-neutron scattering length and neglecting the neutron-core scattering. Once the realistic finite neutron-neutron and neutron-core scattering lengths are used, the charge and matter radii are influenced by the neutron-core channel in a growingly relevant manner. We obtain a relation among the binding energy of the three-body Borromean system, the ratio between charge and matter radii, and the ratio between the neutron-neutron and core-neutron scattering lengths. We find that the two-neutron separation energy for $^{22}$C needs to be $\lesssim 2$ keV in order to be consistent with the experimental constraints of the matter radius of $^{22}$C and the $^{20}{\rm C}\,n$ $S$-wave scattering length.

Generalization of Weinberg's Compositeness Relations

We generalize the time-honored Weinberg's compositeness relations by including the range corrections through considering a general form factor. In Weinberg's derivation, he considered the effective range expansion up to $\mathcal{O}(p^2)$ and made two additional approximations: neglecting the non-pole term in the Low equation; approximating the form factor by a constant. We lift the second approximation, and work out an analytic expression for the form factor. For a positive effective range, the form factor is of a single-pole form. An integral representation of the compositeness is obtained and is expected to have a smaller uncertainty than that derived from Weinberg's relations. We also establish an exact relation between the wave function of a bound state and the phase of the scattering amplitude neglecting the non-pole term. The deuteron is analyzed as an example, and the formalism can be applied to other cases where range corrections are important.

Inverse scattering problem with a bare state

In hadron physics, molecular-like multihadron states can interact with compact multiquark states. The latter are modeled as bare states in the Hilbert space of a potential model. In this work, we study several potential models relevant to the bare state, and solve their inverse scattering problems. The first model, called "cc", is a separable potential model. We show that it can approximate (single-channel short-range) $S$-wave near-threshold physics with an error of $\mathcal{O}(β^3/M_V^3)$, where $β$ sets the maximum momentum of the near-threshold region and $M_V$ is the typical scale of the potential. The second model, called "bc", serves as the bare-state-dominance approximation, where interaction between continuum states is ignored. Under this model, even though the bare state is always crucial for a bound state's generation, a shallow bound state naturally tends to have a small bare-state proportion. Therefore, we need other quantities to quantify the importance of the bare state. The last model, called "bcc", is a combination of the first two models. This model not only serves as a correction to the bare-state-dominance approximation, but can also be used to understand the interplay between quark and hadron degrees of freedom. This model naturally leads to the presence of a Castillejo-Dalitz-Dyson (CDD) zero. We consider the energy decomposition of a bound state. The potential ratio of the bare-continuum interaction to the continuum self-interaction is proposed to understand how the bound state is generated. Model independently, an inequality for the potential ratio is derived. Based on the model "bcc", the CDD zero can be used to estimate the potential ratio. Finally, we apply these studies to the deuteron, $ρ$ meson, and $D_{s0}^*(2317)$, and analyze their properties.

Novel coupled channel framework connecting quark model and lattice QCD: an investigation on near-threshold $D_s$ states

A novel framework is proposed to extract near-threshold resonant states from finite-volume energy levels of lattice QCD and is applied to elucidate structures of the positive parity $D_s$. The quark model, the quark-pair-creation mechanism and $D^{(*)}K$ interaction are incorporated into the Hamiltonian effective field theory. The bare $1^+$ $c\bar s$ states are almost purely given by the states with heavy-quark spin bases. The physical $D^*_{s0}(2317)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2460)$ are the mixtures of bare $c\bar s$ core and $D^{(*)}K$ component, while the $D^*_{s1}(2536)$ and $D^*_{s2}(2573)$ are almost dominated by bare $c\bar{s}$. Furthermore, our model reproduces the clear level crossing of the $D^*_{s1}(2536)$ with the scattering state at a finite volume.

Regularisation in Nonperturbative Extensions of Effective Field Theory

The process of renormalisation in nonperturbative Hamiltonian Effective Field Theory (HEFT) is examined in the $Δ$-resonance scattering channel. As an extension of effective field theory incorporating the Lüscher formalism, HEFT provides a bridge between the infinite-volume scattering data of experiment and the finite-volume spectrum of energy eigenstates in lattice QCD. HEFT also provides phenomenological insight into the basis-state composition of the finite-volume eigenstates via the state eigenvectors. The Hamiltonian matrix is made finite through the introduction of finite-range regularisation. The extent to which the established features of this regularisation scheme survive in HEFT is examined. In a single-channel $πN$ analysis, fits to experimental phase shifts withstand large variations in the regularisation parameter, $Λ$, providing an opportunity to explore the sensitivity of the finite-volume spectrum and state composition on the regulator. While the Lüscher formalism ensures the eigenvalues are insensitive to $Λ$ variation in the single-channel case, the eigenstate composition varies with $Λ$; the admission of short distance interactions diminishes single-particle contributions to the states. In the two-channel $πN$, $πΔ$ analysis, $Λ$ is restricted to a small range by the experimental data. Here the inelasticity is particularly sensitive to variations in $Λ$ and its associated parameter set. This sensitivity is also manifest in the finite-volume spectrum for states near the opening of the $πΔ$ scattering channel. Finally, HEFT has the unique ability to describe the quark-mass dependence of the finite-volume eigenstates. The robust nature of this capability is presented and used to confront current state-of-the-art lattice QCD calculations.

Relativistic-invariant formulation of the NREFT three-particle quantization condition

A three-particle quantization condition on the lattice is written down in a manifestly relativistic-invariant form by using a generalization of the non-relativistic effective field theory (NREFT) approach. Inclusion of the higher partial waves is explicitly addressed. A partial diagonalization of the quantization condition into the various irreducible representations of the (little groups of the) octahedral group has been carried out both in the center-of-mass frame and in moving frames. Furthermore, producing synthetic data in a toy model, the relativistic invariance is explicitly demonstrated for the three-body bound state spectrum.

Research on the Phase space of three- and four-body final states process

The analytical formulae for the phase space factors and the three-momenta of three- and four-body final states are derived for all sets of independent kinematic variables containing invariant mass variables. These formulae will help experimental physicist to perform the data analysis. As an example, we show how to use these formulae to distinguish the different mechanisms of $e+p\to e+J/ψ+ p$ process for searching the signals of $P_c$ states at the energy region of Electron-Ion collider at China (EicC).

Spurious poles in a finite volume

Using effective-range expansion for the two-body amplitudes may generate spurious sub-threshold poles outside of the convergence range of the expansion. In the infinite volume, the emergence of such poles leads to the inconsistencies in the three-body equations, e.g., to the breakdown of unitarity. We investigate the effect of the spurious poles on the three-body quantization condition in a finite volume and show that it leads to a peculiar dependence of the energy levels on the box size $L$. Furthermore, within a simple model, it is demonstrated that the procedure for the removal of these poles, which was recently proposed in Ref.[1] in the infinite volume, can be adapted to the finite-volume calculations. The structure of the exact energy levels is reproduced with an accuracy that systematically improves order by order in the EFT expansion.

The investigations of the $P$-wave $B_s$ states combining quark model and lattice QCD in the coupled channel framework

Combining the quark model, the quark-pair-creation mechanism and $B^{(*)}\bar K$ interaction, we have investigated the near-threshold $P$-wave $B_s$ states in the framework of the Hamiltonian effective field theory. With the heavy quark flavor symmetry, all the parameters are determined in the $D_s$ sector by fitting the lattice data. The masses of the bottom-strange partners of the $D^{*}_{s0}(2317)$ and $D^{*}_{s1}(2460)$ are predicted to be $M_{B^{*}_{s0}}=5730.2_{-1.5}^{+2.4}$ MeV and $M_{B^{*}_{s1}}= 5769.6_{-1.6}^{+2.4}$ MeV, respectively, which are well consistent with the lattice QCD simulation. The two $P$-wave $B_s$ states are the mixtures of the bare $\bar b s$ core and $B^{(*)}\bar K$ component. Moreover, we find a crossing point between the energy levels with and without the interaction Hamiltonian in the finite volume spectrum in the $0^+$ case, which corresponds to a CDD (Castillejo-Dalitz-Dyson) zero in the $T$-matrix of the $B\bar K$ scattering. This CDD zero will help deepen the insights of the near-threshold states and can be examined by future lattice calculation.

Towards high partial waves in lattice QCD with a dumbbell-like operator

An extended two-hadron operator is developed to extract the spectra of irreducible representations (irreps) in the finite volume. The irreps of the group for the finite volume system are projected using a coordinate-space operator. The correlation function of this operator is computationally efficient to extract lattice spectra of the specific irrep. In particular, this new formulation only requires propagators to be computed from two distinct source locations, at fixed spatial separation. We perform a proof-of-principle study on a $24^3 \times 48$ lattice volume with $m_π\approx 900$ MeV by isolating various spectra of the $ππ$ system with isospin-2 including a range of total momenta and irreps. By applying the Lüscher formalism, the phase shifts of $S$-, $D$- and $G$-wave $ππ$ scattering with isospin-2 are extracted from the spectra.

$DDK$ system in finite volume

The $DDK$ 3-body system is supposed to be bound due to the strongly attractive interaction between the $D$ meson and the $K$ meson in the isospin zero channel. The minimum quark content of this 3-body bound state is $cc\bar{q}\bar{s}$ with $q=u,d$. It will be an explicitly exotic tetraquark state once discovered. In order to confirm the phenomenological study of the $DDK$ system, we can refer to lattice QCD as a powerful theoretical tool parallel to the experiment measurement. In this paper, a 3-body quantization condition scheme is derived via the non-relativistic effective theory and the particle-dimer picture in finite volume. Lattice spectrum of this 3-body system is calculated within the existing model inputs. The spectrum shows various interesting properties of the $DDK$ system, and it may reveal the nature of the $D^*(2317)$. This predicated spectrum is expected to be tested in future lattice simulations.

Identify the hidden charm pentaquark signal from non-resonant background in electron-proton scattering

We study the electroproduction of the LHCb pentaquark states with the assumption that they are resonant states. The main concern here is to investigate the final state distribution in the phase space in order to extract the feeble pentaquark signal from the large non-resonant background. Our results show that the ratio of the signal to background would increase significantly with proper kinematic cut, which would be very helpful for future experimental analysis.

Kaonic Hydrogen and Deuterium in Hamiltonian Effective Field Theory

The anti-kaon nucleon scattering lengths resulting from a Hamiltonian effective field theory analysis of experimental data and lattice QCD studies are presented. The same Hamiltonian is then used to compute the scattering length for the $K^- d$ system, taking careful account of the effects of recoil on the energy at which the $\bar{K}N$ T-matrices are evaluated. These results are then used to estimate the shift and width of the $1S$ levels of anti-kaonic hydrogen and deuterium. The $K^- p$ result is in excellent agreement with the SIDDHARTA measurement. In the $K^- d$ case the imaginary part of the scattering length and consequently the width of the $1S$ state are considerably larger than found in earlier work. This is a consequence of the effect of recoil on the energy of the $\bar{K}N$ energy, which enhances the role of the $Λ(1405)$ resonance.

Partial Wave Mixing in Hamiltonian Effective Field Theory

The spectrum of excited states observed in the finite volume of lattice QCD is governed by the discrete symmetries of the cubic group. This finite group permits the mixing of orbital angular momentum quanta in the finite volume. As experimental results refer to specific angular momentum in a partial-wave decomposition, a formalism mapping the partial-wave scattering potentials to the finite volume is required. This formalism is developed herein for Hamiltonian effective field theory, an extension of chiral effective field theory incorporating the Lüscher relation linking the energy levels observed in finite volume to the scattering phase shift. The formalism provides an optimal set of rest-frame basis states maximally reducing the dimension of the Hamiltonian, and it should work in any Hamiltonian formalism. As a first example of the formalism's implementation, lattice QCD results for the spectrum of an isospin-2 $ππ$ scattering system are analyzed to determine the $s$, $d$, and $g$ partial-wave scattering information.

Photoproduction of hidden-bottom pentaquark and related topics

Due to the discovery of the hidden-charm pentaquark $P_c$ states by the LHCb collaboration, the interests on the candidates of hidden-bottom pentaquark $P_b$ states are increasing. They are anticipated to exist as the analogues of the $P_c$ states in the bottom sector and predicted by many models. We give an exploration of searching for a typical $P_b$ in the $γp \to Υp$ reaction, which shows a promising potential to observe it at an electron-ion collider. The possibility of searching for $P_b$ in open-bottom channels are also briefly discussed. Meanwhile, the $t$-channel non-resonant contribution, which in fact covers several interesting topics at low energies, is systematically investigated.

PandaX limits on light dark matter with light mediator in the singlet extension of MSSM

Using the latest PandaX limits on light dark matter (DM) with light mediator, we check the implication on the parameter space of the general singlet extension of MSSM (without $Z_3$ symmetry), which can have a sizable DM self-interaction to solve the small-scale structure problem. We find that the PandaX limits can stringently constrain such a paramter space, depending on the coupling $λ$ between the singlet and doublet Higgs fields. For the singlet extension of MSSM with $Z_3$ symmetry, the so-called NMSSM, we also demonstrate the PandaX constraints on its parameter space which gives a light DM with correct relic density but without sufficient self-interaction to solve the small-scale structure problem. We find that in this NMSSM the GeV dark matter with a sub-GeV mediator has been stringently constrained.

From Extraction of Nucleon Resonances to LQCD

The intrinsic difficulties in extracting the hadron resonances from reaction data are illustrated by using several exactly soluble $ππ$ scattering models. The finite-volume Hamiltonian method is applied to predict spectra using two meson-exchange Hamiltonians of $πN$ reactions. Within a three-channel model with $πN$, $πΔ$ and $σN$ channels, we show the advantage of the finite-volume Hamiltonian method over the approach using the Lüscher formula to test Lattice QCD calculations aimed at predicting nucleon resonances. We discuss the necessary steps for using the ANL-Osaka eight-channel Hamiltonian to predict the spectra for testing the LQCD calculations for determining the excited nucleon states up to invariant mass $W= 2 $ GeV.

Hamiltonian effective field theory study of the $\mathbf{N^*(1535)}$ resonance in lattice QCD

Drawing on experimental data for baryon resonances, Hamiltonian effective field theory (HEFT) is used to predict the positions of the finite-volume energy levels to be observed in lattice QCD simulations of the lowest-lying $J^P=1/2^-$ nucleon excitation. In the initial analysis, the phenomenological parameters of the Hamiltonian model are constrained by experiment and the finite-volume eigenstate energies are a prediction of the model. The agreement between HEFT predictions and lattice QCD results obtained on volumes with spatial lengths of 2 and 3 fm is excellent. These lattice results also admit a more conventional analysis where the low-energy coefficients are constrained by lattice QCD results, enabling a determination of resonance properties from lattice QCD itself. Finally, the role and importance of various components of the Hamiltonian model are examined.

Baryon resonances in the strangeness production

We have studied the $N^*(2120)$, $Δ^*(1940)$, and the possible $Σ^*(1380)$ resonances in the $γp \to K^+ Λ(1520)$, $pp \to n K^+ Σ(1385)$, and $Λp \to Λp π^0$ reactions within the resonance model and the effective Lagrangian approach. It is shown that when the contributions from these baryonic states were considered, the current experimental measurement could be well reproduced. In addition, we also demonstrate that the angular distributions provide direct information of these reactions, which could be useful for the investigation of those states and may be tested by future experiments.

Finite-volume Hamiltonian method for $ππ$ scattering in lattice QCD

Within a formulation of $ππ$ scattering, we investigate the use of the finite-volume Hamiltonian approach to resolving scattering observables from lattice QCD spectra. We consider spectra in the centre-of-mass and moving frames for both S- and P-wave cases. Furthermore, we investigate the multi-channel case. Here we study the use of the Hamiltonian framework as a parametrization that can be fit directly to lattice spectra. Through this method, the hadron properties, such as mass, width and coupling, can be directly extracted from the lattice spectra.

Hyperon production from neutrino-nucleon reaction

The neutrino induced hyperon production processes $\barν_{e/μ} + p \to e^+/μ^+ + π+ Λ/Σ$ may provide a unique clean place for studying low energy $πΛ/Σ$ interaction and hyperon resonances below $KN$ threshold. The production rates for some neutrino induced hyperon production processes are estimated with theoretical models. Suggestions are made for the study of hyperon production from neutrino-nucleon reaction at present and future neutrino facilities.

Incoherent Pion Production in Neutrino - Deuteron Reactions

Within the multiple scattering formulation, the incoherent pion production in neutrino-deuteron reactions at energies near the $Δ(1232)$ resonance is investigated. The calculations include an impulse term and one-loop contributions from nucleon-nucleon ($NN$) and pion-nucleon ($πN$) final state interactions. The input amplitudes of $πN$ scattering and electroweak pion production reaction on nucleon are generated from a dynamical model which describes very extensive data of $πN$ scattering and both the electromagnetic and the weak pion production reactions on the nucleon. The $NN$ scattering amplitudes are generated from the Bonn potential. The validity of the calculational procedures is established by giving a reasonably good description of the data of pion photo-production on the deuteron. The constructed model is then applied to predict the cross sections of $ν+ d \rightarrow μ^- + π^+ + n+ p$ and $ν+d \rightarrow μ^-+π^0+p+p$ reactions. The importance of including the $NN$ final state interactions to understand the experimental data of these neutrino-deuteron reactions is demonstrated. Our results strongly suggest that the spectator approximation used in the previous analyses to extract the pion production cross sections on the nucleon from the data on the deuteron is not valid for the $ν+ d \rightarrow μ^-+ π^+ +n+p$, but is a good approximation for $ν+ d \rightarrow μ^-+ π^0 + p+p$.

Penta-quark States with Strangeness, Hidden Charm and Beauty

The classical quenched quark models with three constituent quarks provide a good description for the baryon spatial ground states, but fail to reproduce the spectrum of baryon excited states. More and more evidences suggest that unquenched effects with multi-quark dynamics are necessary ingredients to solve the problem. Several new hyperon resonances reported recently could fit in the picture of penta-quark states. Based on this picture, some new hyperon excited states were predicted to exist; meanwhile with extension from strangeness to charm and beauty, super-heavy narrow $N^*$ and $Λ^*$ resonances with hidden charm or beauty were predicted to be around 4.3 and 11 GeV, respectively. Recently, two of such $N^*$ with hidden charm might have been observed by the LHCb experiment. More of those states are expected to be observed in near future. This opens a new window in order to study hadronic dynamics for the multi-quark states.

Finite-volume Hamiltonian method for coupled channel interactions in lattice QCD

Within a multi-channel formulation of $ππ$ scattering, we investigate the use of the finite-volume Hamiltonian approach to resolve scattering observables from lattice QCD spectra. The asymptotic matching of the well-known Lüscher formalism encodes a unique finite-volume spectrum. Nevertheless, in many practical situations, such as coupled-channel systems, it is advantageous to interpolate isolated lattice spectra in order to extract physical scattering parameters. Here we study the use of the Hamiltonian framework as a parameterisation that can be fit directly to lattice spectra. We find that with a modest amount of lattice data, the scattering parameters can be reproduced rather well, with only a minor degree of model dependence.

Role of the possible $Σ^*(\frac{1}{2}^-)$ state in the $Λp \to Λp π^0$ reaction

The $Λp \to Λp π^0$ reaction near threshold is studied within an effective Lagrangian method. The production process is described by single-pion and single-kaon exchange. In addition to the role played by the $Σ^*(1385)$ resonance of spin-parity $J^P = 3/2^+$, the effects of a newly proposed $Σ^*$ ($J^P = 1/2^-$) state with mass and width around $1380$ MeV and $120$ MeV are investigated. We show that our model leads to a good description of the experimental data on the total cross section of the $Λp \to Λp π^0$ reaction by including the contributions from the possible $Σ^*(\frac{1}{2}^-)$ state. However, the theoretical calculations by considering only the $Σ^*(1385)$ resonance fail to reproduce the experimental data, especially for the enhancement close to the reaction threshold. On the other hand, it is found that the single-pion exchange is dominant. Furthermore, we also demonstrate that the angular distributions provide direct information of this reaction, hence could be useful for the investigation of the existence of the $Σ^*(\frac{1}{2}^-)$ state and may be tested by future experiments.

Production of $J/Ψ$ on the nucleon and deuteron targets

A coupled-channel model with $πN$, $ρN$ and $J/ΨN$ channels is developed to predict the $π+ N \rightarrow J/Ψ+ N $ cross sections. The $J/Ψ$-$N$ interaction is parameterized in a form related to what has been predicted by the effective field theory approach and Lattice QCD. The other interactions within the model are constrained by the decay width of $J/Ψ\rightarrow ρ+ π$ and the total cross section data of $πN$ reactions. The calculated meson-baryon amplitudes are then used to predict the cross sections of the $J/Ψ$ production on the deuteron target by including the contributions from the impulse term and the one-loop calculations of the final $NN$ and $J/ΨN$ re-scattering effects. Predictions of the dependence of the cross sections of $π^- + p \rightarrow J/Ψ+ n$, $γ+ d \rightarrow J/Ψ+ n + p$, and $π^+ d \rightarrow J/Ψ+p +p$ on the $J/Ψ$-$N$ potentials are presented for experimental determinations of the $J/Ψ$-$N$ interaction. Within the vector meson dominance model, we have also applied the constructed coupled-channel model to predict the $γ+ p\rightarrow J/Ψ+ p$ cross sections near the $J/Ψ$ production threshold.

Understanding the property of $η(1405/1475)$ in the $J/ψ$ radiative decay

In this work we make a systematic analysis of the correlated processes $J/ψ\to γη(1440)/f_1(1420)$ with $η(1440)/f_1(1420)\to K\bar{K}π$, $ηππ$ and $3π$, where the role played by the so-called "triangle singularity mechanism" (TSM) is clarified. Our results agree well with the experimental data and suggest a small fraction of $f_1(1420)$ contributions in these processes. This study confirms our conclusion in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 108, 081803 (2012)] that the dynamic feature of the TSM can be recognized by the strong narrow peak observed in the $ππ$ invariant mass spectrum of $η(1440)\to 3π$ with anomalously large isospin violations. Nevertheless, we explicitly demonstrate that the TSM can produce obvious peak position shifts for the same $η(1440)$ or $f_1(1420)$ state in different decay channels. This is a strong evidence that the $η(1405)$ and $η(1475)$ are actually the same state, i.e. $η(1440)$. We also make an analysis of the radiative decays of $η(1440)\to γV$ ($V=ϕ$, $ρ^0$ or $ω$) which shows that such a one-state prescription seems not to have a conflict with the so-far existing experimental data. Our analysis may shed a light on the long-standing puzzling question on the nature of $η(1405)$ and $η(1475)$.

Nucleon Resonances with Hidden Charm in Coupled-Channel Models

The model dependence of the predictions of nucleon resonances with hidden charm is investigated. We consider several coupled-channel models which are derived from relativistic quantum field theory by using (1) a unitary transformation method, and (2) the three-dimensional reductions of Bethe-Salpeter Equation. With the same vector meson exchange mechanism, we find that all models give very narrow molecular-like nucleon resonances with hidden charm in the mass range of 4.3 GeV $ < M_R < $ 4.5 GeV, in consistent with the previous predictions.

Photo-production of Bound States with Hidden Charms

The photo-production of $J/Ψ$-$^3He$ bound state ($[^3He]_{J/Ψ}$) on a $^4He$ target has been investigated using the impulse approximation. The calculations have been performed using several $γ+N \rightarrow J/Ψ+N$ models based on the Pomeron-exchange and accounting for the pion-exchange mechanism at low energies. The $J/Ψ$ wavefunctions in $[^3He]_{J/Ψ}$ are generated from various $J/Ψ$-nucleus potentials which are constructed by either using a procedure based on the Pomeron-quark coupling mechanism or folding a $J/Ψ$-N potential ($v_{J/Ψ,N}$) into the nuclear densities. We consider $v_{J/Ψ,N}$ derived from the effective field theory approach, Lattice QCD, and Pomeron-quark coupling mechanism. The upper bound of the predicted total cross sections is about $0.1 - 0.3$ pico-barn. We also consider the possibility of photo-production of a six quark-$J/Ψ$ bound state ($[q^6]_{J/Ψ})$ on the $^3He$ target. The Compound Bag Model of $NN$ scattering and the quark cluster model of nuclei are used to estimate the $[q^6]$-N wavefunction in $^3He$ by imposing the condition that the calculated $^3He$ charge form factor must be consistent with what is predicted by the conventional nuclear model. The upper bound of the predicted total cross sections of $γ+ ^3He \rightarrow [q^6]_{J/Ψ} +N$ is about 2 - 4 pico-barn, depending on the model of $γ+N \rightarrow J/Ψ+N$ used in the calculations. Our results call for the need of precise measurements of $γ+p \rightarrow J/Ψ+p$ and also the $γ+^2H\rightarrow J/Ψ+n + p $ reactions near the threshold.

The puzzle of anomalously large isospin violations in $η(1405/1475)\to 3π$

The BES-III Collaboration recently report the observation of anomalously large isospin violations in $J/ψ\to γη(1405/1475) \to γπ^0 f_0(980)\to γ+3π$, where the $f_0(980)$ in the $ππ$ invariant mass spectrum appears to be much narrower ($\sim$ 10 MeV) than the peak width ($\sim$50 MeV) measured in other processes. We show that a mechanism, named as triangle singularity (TS), can produce a narrow enhancement between the charged and neutral $K\bar{K}$ thresholds, i.e., $2m_{K^\pm}\sim 2m_{K^0}$. It can also lead to different invariant mass spectra for $η(1405/1475)\to a_0(980)π$ and $K\bar{K}^*+c.c.$, which can possibly explain the long-standing puzzle about the need for two close states $η(1405)$ and $η(1475)$ in $ηππ$ and $K\bar{K}π$, respectively. The TS could be a key to our understanding of the nature of $η(1405/1475)$ and advance our knowledge about the mixing between $a_0(980)$ and $f_0(980)$.

Possible $Σ({1\over2}^-)$ under the $Σ^*(1385)$ peak in $KΣ^*$ photoproduction

The LEPS collaboration has recently reported a measurement of the reaction $γn\to K^+Σ^{*-}(1385)$ with linearly polarized photon beam at resonance region. The observed beam asymmetry is sizably negative at $E_γ=1.8-2.4 \mathrm{GeV}$, in contrast to the presented theoretical prediction. In this paper, we calculate this process in the framework of the effective Lagrangian approach. By including a newly proposed $Σ(J^P={1\over2}^-)$ state with mass around 1380~MeV, the experimental data for both $γn$ and $γp$ experiments can be well reproduced. It is found that the $Σ({1\over2}^-)$ and/or the contact term may play important role and deserve further investigation.

Prediction of narrow $N^{*}$ and $Λ^*$ resonances with hidden charm above 4 GeV

The interaction between various charmed mesons and charmed baryons are studied within the framework of the coupled channel unitary approach with the local hidden gauge formalism. Several meson-baryon dynamically generated narrow $N^*$ and $Λ^*$ resonances with hidden charm are predicted with mass above 4 GeV and width smaller than 100 MeV. The predicted new resonances definitely cannot be accommodated by quark models with three constituent quarks and can be looked for at the forthcoming PANDA/FAIR experiments.

Further evidence for the $Σ^{*}$ resonance with $J^P=1/2^-$ around 1380 MeV

The unquenched quark models predict the new particle $Σ^*$ with spin parity $J^P=1/2^-$ and its mass is around the well established $Σ^*(1385)$ with $J^P=3/2^+$. Here by using the effective Lagrangian approach we study \kp\ reaction at the range of $Λ^{*}(1520)$ peak, comparing the resulting total cross section, and $π^+π^-$, $Λπ^+$, $Λπ^-$ invariant squared mass distributions for various incident $K^-$ momenta, as well as the production angular distribution of the $Λ$ with the data from the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory 25-inch hydrogen bubble chamber, we find that, apart from the existing resonance $Σ^{*}(1385)$ with $J^P=3/2^+$, there is a strong evidence for the existence of the new resonance $Σ^{*}$ with $J^P=1/2^-$ around 1380 MeV. Higher statistic data on relevant reactions are needed to clarify the situation.
