A Paley-Wiener theorem for Harish-Chandra modules
We formulate and prove a Paley-Wiener theorem for Harish-Chandra modules for a real reductive group. As a corollary we obtain a new and elementary proof of the Helgason conjecture.

Let Z be a homogeneous space Z=G/H of a real reductive Lie group G with a reductive subgroup H. The investigation concerns the quantitative decay of matrix coefficients on $Z$ under the assumption that Z is of spherical type, that is, minimal parabolic subgroups have open orbits on Z.
A triple space is a homogeneous space $G/H$ where $G=G_0\times G_0\times G_0$ is a threefold product group and $H\simeq G_0$ the diagonal subgroup of $G$. This paper concerns the geometry of the triple spaces with $G_0=\SL(2,\R)$, $\SL(2,\C)$ or $\SO_e(n,1)$ for $n\ge 2$. We determine the abelian subgroups $A\subset G$ for which there is a polar decomposition $G=KAH$, and we determine for which minimal parabolic subgroups $P\subset G$, the orbit $PH$ is open in $G/H$.
We propose a notion of cusp forms on semisimple symmetric spaces. We then study the real hyperbolic spaces in detail, and show that there exists both cuspidal and non-cuspidal discrete series. In particular, we show that all the spherical discrete series are non-cuspidal.
In this paper we explore homogeneous spaces Z=G/H of a a real reductive Lie group G with a closed connected subgroup H. The investigation concerns the decay at infinity of smooth functions on Z, and L^p-integrability of matrix coefficients. These results are used in a study of the asymptotic density of lattice points on Z. Explicit examples are given of spaces for which results are new.
A Bernstein type inequality is obtained for the Jacobi polynomials $P_n^{α,β}(x)$, which is uniform for all degrees $n\ge0$, all real $α,β\ge0$, and all values $x\in [-1,1]$. It provides uniform bounds on a complete set of matrix coefficients for the irreducible representations of $\mathrm{SU}(2)$ with a decay of $d^{-1/4}$ in the dimension $d$ of the representation. Moreover it complements previous results of Krasikov on a conjecture of Erdélyi, Magnus and Nevai.
Let G be a real reductive group and G/H a unimodular homogeneous G space with a closed connected subgroup H. We establish estimates for the invariant measure on G/H. Using these, we prove that all smooth vectors in the Banach representation L^p(G/H) of G are functions that vanish at infinity if and only if G/H is of reductive type. An application to lattice counting on G/H is presented.
The Fourier coefficients F(t) of a function f on a compact symmetric space U/K are given by integration of f against matrix coefficients of irreducible representations of U. The coefficients depend on a spectral parameter t, which determines the representation, and they can be represented by elements F(t) in a common Hilbert space H. We obtain a theorem of Paley-Wiener type which describes the size of the support of f by means of the exponential type of a holomorphic H-valued extension of F, provided f is K-finite and of sufficiently small support. The result was obtained previously for K-invariant functions, to which case we reduce.
The c-functions, related to a reductive symmetric space G/H and a fixed representation of a maximal compact subgroup K of G, are shown to satisfy polynomial bounds in imaginary directions.
We investigate the non-diagonal normal forms of a quadratic form on R^n, in particular for n=3. For this case it is shown that the set of normal forms is the closure of a 5-dimensional submanifold in the 6-dimensional Grassmannian of 2-dimensional subspaces of \R^5.
The Fourier coefficients of a smooth $K$-invariant function on a compact symmetric space $M=U/K$ are given by integration of the function against the spherical functions. For functions with support in a neighborhood of the origin, we describe the size of the support by means of the exponential type of a holomorphic extension of the Fourier coefficients
