Conway invariant Jacobi forms on the Leech lattice

In this paper we study Jacobi forms associated with the Leech lattice ΛΛ which are invariant under the Conway group Co0\mathrm{Co}_0. We determine and construct generators of modules of both weak and holomorphic Jacobi forms of integral weight and fixed index t≤3t\leq 3. As applications, (1) we find the modular linear differential equations satisfied by the holomorphic generators; (2) we determine the decomposition of many products of orbits of Leech vectors; (3) we calculate the intersection between orbits and Leech vectors; (4) we derive some conjugate relations among orbits modulo tΛtΛ.

Mathieu moonshine and Borcherds products

The twisted elliptic genera of a K3K3 surface associated with the conjugacy classes of the Mathieu group M24M_{24} are known to be weak Jacobi forms of weight 00. In 2010, Cheng constructed formal infinite products from the twisted elliptic genera and conjectured that they define Siegel modular forms of degree two. In this paper we prove that for each conjugacy class of level NgN_g the associated product is a meromorphic Borcherds product on the lattice U(Ng)⊕U⊕A1U(N_g)\oplus U \oplus A_1 in a strict sense. We also compute the divisors of these products and determine for which conjugacy classes the product can be realized as an additive (generalized Saito--Kurokawa) lift.

Weyl invariant E8E_8 Jacobi forms and EE-strings

In 1992 Wirthmüller showed that for any irreducible root system not of type E8E_8 the ring of weak Jacobi forms invariant under Weyl group is a polynomial algebra. However, it has recently been proved that for E8E_8 the ring is not a polynomial algebra. Weyl invariant E8E_8 Jacobi forms have many applications in string theory and it is an open problem to describe such forms. The scaled refined free energies of EE-strings with certain ηη-function factors are conjectured to be Weyl invariant E8E_8 quasi holomorphic Jacobi forms. It is further observed that the scaled refined free energies up to some powers of E4E_4 can be written as polynomials in nine Sakai's E8E_8 Jacobi forms and Eisenstein series E2E_2, E4E_4, E6E_6. Motivated by the physical conjectures, we prove that for any Weyl invariant E8E_8 Jacobi form ϕtϕ_t of index tt the function E4[t/5]Δ[5t/6]ϕtE_4^{[t/5]}Δ^{[5t/6]}ϕ_t can be expressed uniquely as a polynomial in E4E_4, E6E_6 and Sakai's forms, where [x][x] is the integer part of xx. This means that a Weyl invariant E8E_8 Jacobi form is completely determined by a solution of some linear equations. By solving the linear systems, we determine the generators of the free module of Weyl invariant E8E_8 weak (resp. holomorphic) Jacobi forms of given index tt when t≤13t\leq 13 (resp. t≤11t\leq 11).

Graded rings of integral Jacobi forms

We determine the structure of the bigraded ring of weak Jacobi forms with integral Fourier coefficients. This ring is the target ring of a map generalising the Witten and elliptic genera and a partition function of (0,2)(0,2)-model in string theory. We also determine the structure of the graded ring of all weakly holomorphic Jacobi forms of weight zero and integral index with integral Fourier coefficients. These forms are the data for Borcherds products for the Siegel paramodular groups.

Projective spaces as orthogonal modular varieties

We construct 1616 reflection groups ΓΓ acting on symmetric domains D\mathcal{D} of Cartan type IV, for which the graded algebras of modular forms are freely generated by forms of the same weight, and in particular the Satake--Baily--Borel compactification of D/Γ\mathcal{D} / Γ is isomorphic to a projective space. Four of these are previously known results of Freitag--Salvati Manni, Matsumoto, Perna and Runge. In addition we find several new modular groups of orthogonal type whose algebras of modular forms are freely generated.
