Center of mass motion in bag model

Despite the great success on the mass spectra, the reputation of the bag model has been closely followed by the embarrassment from the center of mass motion. It leads to severe theoretical inconsistencies. For instance, the masses and the decay constants would no longer be independent of the momentum. In this work, we provide a systematical approach to resolve this problem. The meson decay constants as well as the baryon transition form factors can be computed consistently in our framework. Notably, the form factors in the neutron ββ decays do not depend on any free parameters, and are determined to be F1V=1F^V_1 =1 and F1A=1.31F^A_1 = 1.31 or F1A/F1V=1.31F_1^A/F_1^V= 1.31, which is close the experimental value of F1A/F1V=1.27F^A_1/F^V_1 = 1.27. In addition, we find that B(Λb→Λγ)=(6.8±3.3)×10−6{\cal B} (Λ_b \to Λγ) = (6.8 \pm 3.3 ) \times 10^{-6} , which agrees to the experimental value of (7.1±1.7)×10−6(7.1\pm 1.7)\times 10^{-6}.

New extraction of CP violation in b-baryon decays

We study CP violation in b-baryon decays of Ξb−→Ξ−DΞ_b^- \to Ξ^- D with D=D0,Dˉ0D = D^0, \bar{D}^0 and Di (i=1,2)D_i~(i=1,2). We find that these baryonic decay processes provide an ideal opportunity to measure the weak phase due to the absence of the relative strong phase. Explicitly, we relate ρˉ\barρ and ηˉ\barη the CKM elements with the decay rate ratios of Ri=Γ(Ξb−→Ξ−Di)/Γ(Ξb−→Ξ−D0)R_i= Γ(Ξ_b^- \to Ξ^-D_{i} ) / Γ( Ξ_b^- \to Ξ^-D^0 ) without the charge conjugate states. As a complementary, we also examine the decay distributions of Λb→Λ(→pπ−)DΛ_b \to Λ(\to p π^- ) D. There are in total 32 decay observables, which can be parameterized by 9 real parameters, allowing the experiments to extract the angle γ≡arg⁡(−VudVub∗/VcdVcb∗)γ\equiv \arg(-V_{ud}V_{ub}^*/V_{cd}V_{cb}^*) in the CKM unitarity triangle. In addition, the feasibilities of the experimental measurements are discussed. We find that ρˉ\barρ and ηˉ\barη can be extracted at LHCb Run3 from Ξb−→Ξ−DΞ_b^- \to Ξ^- D, and a full analysis of Λb→Λ(→pπ−)DΛ_b \to Λ(\to p π^-)D is available at LHCb Run4.

Searching Bc∗B_c^\ast via conservation laws

To distinguish Bc∗+(13S1)B_c^{\ast +}(1^3S_1) and Bc+(11S0)B_c^+(1^1S_0) in the experiments, we propose two methods based on the conservation laws. I. From the angular momentum conservation, a nonzero helicity of J/ψJ/ψ of Bc(∗)+→J/ψπ+B_c^{(\ast)+ } \to J/ψπ^+ would be an evidence of Bc∗+B_c^{\ast +}. II. Since Bc+→B+ϕB_c^+ \to B^+ ϕ is kinematically forbidden, Bc∗+→B+ϕ B_c^{\ast +} \to B^+ ϕ provides a clean channel to probe Bc∗+B_c^{\ast +}\,. Particularly, our results show that Bc∗+B_c^{\ast +} is promising to be observed at LHC via Bc(∗)+→J/ψπ+B_c^{(\ast)+} \to J/ψπ^+. On the other hand, we find that B(Bc∗+→B+ϕ)=(7.0±3.0)×10−9{\cal B} ( B_c^{\ast+} \to B^+ ϕ) = ( 7.0 \pm 3.0 ) \times 10 ^{-9} , which is also feasible to be measured at the forthcoming experiments at HL-LHC and FCC-hh.

Searching for possible evidences of new physics in B→V1V2B\to V_1 V_2

We explore the decays of B→V1V2B\to V_1V_2 (V1,2=(ρ,ω,K∗,ϕ)V_{1,2}= (ρ, ω,K^*, ϕ) and B=(B0,B+,Bs)B= (B^0, B^+,B_s)) with transverse polarizations. We explicitly evaluate the eigenstates of T-odd scalar operators involving spins for the first time, which offer physical insight among the T violating observables. Based on the helicity suppression of tree operators for transverse polarizations in the standard model (SM), we deduce that Δϕp=Δϕ∥−Δϕ⊥=0Δϕ_p= Δϕ_\parallel - Δϕ_\perp=0 with Δϕ⊥,∥Δϕ_{\perp,\parallel} the weak phases of the transverse amplitudes. In contrast, the experiments show that Δϕp(B0→K∗0ω)=−0.84±0.54Δϕ_p (B^0 \to K^{*0} ω)= -0.84\pm 0.54, which could be a signal of new physics. There is also a discrepancy between our result in the SM and the experimental data for the transverse polarized branching ratio in B0→K∗0ωB^0 \to K^{*0} ω. In addition, by counting the helicity flips, we argue that sin⁡(ϕ∥−ϕ⊥)≈0\sin(ϕ_\parallel - ϕ_\perp ) \approx 0, which meets well with most of the experiments except for the ones with B0→K∗0ωB^0\to K^{*0}ω, where ϕ∥,⊥ϕ_{\parallel,\perp} are the strong phases in the transverse amplitudes.

Sizable Time-reversal violating effects in bottom baryon decays

We study time-reversal~(T) asymmetries in the charmless two-body decays of antitriplet bottom baryons. We find that in Bb→BnP{\bf B}_b \to {\bf B}_n P with Bb=(Ξb−, Ξb0, Λb){\bf B}_b = (Ξ_b ^- , \,Ξ_b^0, \,Λ_b) and Bn(P){\bf B}_n(P) a octet baryon (pseudoscalar meson), the positive and negative helicity amplitudes are both sizable, resulting in the large T-violating effects. Particularly, the T-odd parameters, βwβ_w, for the color-enhanced channels are expected to be around 40%40\% and −25%-25\% in b→sb\to s and b→db\to d transitions for the standard model, which can be measured by the experiments at LHCb, respectively. On the other hand, in Bb→BnV(γ){\bf B}_b \to {\bf B}_n V(γ) with V(γ)V(γ) a vector meson~(photon), the decays are predominated by a single helicity amplitude, and the T violating effects by the correlations among spins are suppressed. We also explore the T violating observables for the ΞbΞ_b decays based on the angular distributions.

Study of charmless two-body baryonic BB decays

We study the charmless two-body decays of B→BnB‾n′B\to {\bf B}_n \overline{\bf B}_n^\prime with B=(B+,B0,Bs0)B = ( B^+ , B^0 , B^0_s) and Bn(′){\bf B}_n^{(\prime)} the low-lying octet baryons. The factorizable amplitudes are calculated by the modified bag model, while the nonfactorizable ones are extracted from the experimental data with the SU(3)FSU(3)_F flavor symmetry. We are able to explain all current experimental measurements and provide predictions on the decay branching ratios in B→BnB‾n′B\to {\bf B}_n \overline{\bf B}_n^\prime. Particularly, we find that B(Bs0→Ξ0Ξ‾0)=(19.3±2.7)×10−7{\cal B}(B_s^0 \to Ξ^0 \overlineΞ^0) = (19.3\pm 2.7 )\times 10^{-7} and B(Bs0→Ξ−Ξ‾−)=(19.4±2.7)×10−7{\cal B}(B_s^0 \to Ξ^- \overlineΞ^-) = (19.4\pm 2.7 )\times 10^{-7}, which are sizable and able to be observed in the ongoing experiments at LHCb and BELLE-II. Furthermore, the decay branching ratios of Bs0→(pp‾,nn‾)B_s^0 \to (p\overline{p}, n\overline{n}) and B0→(Ξ0Ξ‾0,Σ+Σ‾+)B^0 \to (Ξ^0 \overlineΞ^0 ,Σ^+\overlineΣ^+) are expected to be O(10−10)O(10^{-10}), which are suppressed due to the angular momentum conservation and chiral symmetry.

Weak Radiative Decays of Anti-triplet Bottomed Baryons in Light-Front Quark Model

We study the weak radiative decays of Bb→Bnγ{\bf B}_b \to {\bf B}_n γ with Bb(n){\bf B}_{b(n)} the anti-triplet-bottom (octet) baryons in the light front quark model. We obtain that B(Λb→Λγ)=(7.1±0.3)×10−6{\cal B}(Λ_b \to Λγ)= (7.1 \pm 0.3 )\times 10 ^{-6}, which agrees well with the current experimental value of (7.1±1.7)×10−6(7.1 \pm 1.7 )\times 10 ^{-6}. We predict that B(Ξb0→Ξ0γ)=(1.0±0.1)×10−5{\cal B}(Ξ_b^0 \to Ξ^0 γ)= (1.0 \pm 0.1 )\times 10 ^{-5} and B(Ξb−→Ξ−γ)=(1.1±0.1)×10−5{\cal B}(Ξ_b^- \to Ξ^- γ) = (1.1 \pm 0.1) \times 10^{-5}, which are consistent with the latest upper limits set by the LHCb collaboration. In addition, we find that the SU(3)FSU(3)_F flavor symmetry breaking effects for the modes related to the b→dγb\to d γ transition can be as large as 20%20\%.

Non-leptonic two-body decays of Λb0Λ_b^0 in light-front quark model

We study the non-leptonic two-body weak decays of Λb0→pMΛ_b^0 \to p M with M=(π−,K−) M=(π^-,K^-) and (ρ−,K∗−)(ρ^-,K^{*-}) in the light-front quark model under the generalized factorization ansatz. By considering the Fermi statistic between quarks and determining spin-flavor structures in baryons, we calculate the branching ratios (B{\cal B}s) and CP-violating rate asymmetries (ACP\mathcal{A}_{CP}s) in the decays. Explicitly, we find that B(Λb0→pπ−,pK−)=(4.18±0.15±0.30,5.76±0.88±0.23)×10−6{\cal B}( Λ_b^0 \to p π^- ,pK^-)=(4.18\pm0.15\pm0.30, 5.76\pm0.88\pm0.23)\times10^{-6} and ACP(Λb0→pπ−, pK−)=(−3.60±0.14±0.14,6.36±0.21±0.18)%{\mathcal{A}_{CP}}( Λ_b^0 \to p π^- ,\,pK^-)=(-3.60\pm0.14\pm0.14, 6.36\pm0.21\pm0.18)\% in comparison with the data of B(Λb0→pπ−,pK−)=(4.5±0.8,5.4±1.0)×10−6{\cal B}( Λ_b^0 \to p π^- ,pK^-)=(4.5\pm0.8, 5.4\pm1.0)\times10^{-6} and ACP(Λb0→pπ−,pK−)=(−2.5±2.9,−2.5±2.2)%{\mathcal{A}_{CP}}( Λ_b^0 \to p π^- ,pK^-)=(-2.5\pm 2.9, -2.5\pm2.2)\% given by the Particle Data Group, respectively. We also predict that B(Λb0→pρ−,pK∗−)=(12.13±3.27±0.91,2.58±0.87±0.13)×10−6{\cal B}( Λ_b^0 \to p ρ^-,pK^{*-} )=(12.13\pm3.27\pm0.91, 2.58\pm0.87\pm0.13)\times 10^{-6} and ACP(Λb0→pρ−,pK∗−)=(−3.32±0.00±0.14,19.25±0.00±0.80)%{\mathcal{A}_{CP}}( Λ_b^0 \to p ρ^-,pK^{*-} )=(-3.32\pm0.00\pm0.14,19.25\pm0.00\pm0.80)\%, which could be observed by the experiments at LHCb.

Charmed Baryon Weak Decays with Vector Mesons

We give a systematic study of Bc→BnV{\bf B}_c\to {\bf B}_n V decays, where Bc{\bf B}_c and Bn {\bf B}_n correspond to the anti-triplet charmed and octet baryons, respectively, while VV stand for the vector mesons. We calculate the color-symmetric contributions to the decays from the effective Hamiltonian with the factorization approach and extract the anti-symmetric ones based on the experimental measurements and SU(3)FSU(3)_F flavor symmetry. We find that most of the existing experimental data for Bc→BnV{\bf B}_c\to {\bf B}_n V are consistent with our fitting results. We present all the branching ratios of the Cabbibo allowed, singly Cabbibo suppressed and doubly Cabbibo suppressed decays of Bc→BnV{\bf B}_c\to {\bf B}_n V. The decay parameters for the daughter baryons and mesons in Bc→BnV{\bf B}_c\to {\bf B}_n V are also evaluated. In particular, we point out that the Cabbibo allowed decays of Λc+→Λ0ρ+Λ_c^+ \to Λ^0 ρ^+ and Ξc0→Ξ−ρ+ Ξ_c^0 \to Ξ^- ρ^+ as well as the singly Cabbibo suppressed ones of Λc+→Λ0K∗+Λ_c^+ \to Λ^0 K^{*+}, Ξc+→Σ+ϕΞ_c^+ \to Σ^+ ϕ and Ξc0→Ξ−K∗+Ξ_c^0\to Ξ^- K^{*+} have large branching ratios and decay parameters with small uncertainties, which can be tested by the experimental searches at the charm facilities.

Mixing effects of Σ0−Λ0Σ^0-Λ^0 in Λc+Λ_c^+ decays

We analyze the mixing between Σ0Σ^0 and Λ0Λ^0 based on the baryon masses. We distinguish the contributions from QCD and QED in the baryon mass splittings. We find that the mixing angle between Σ0Σ^0 and Λ0Λ^0 is (2.07±0.03)×10−2(2.07\pm 0.03)\times 10^{-2} , which leads to the decay branching fraction and up-down asymmetry of Λc+→Σ0e+νeΛ_c^+ \to Σ^0 e^+ ν_e to be B(Λc+→Σ0e+νe)=(1.5±0.2)×10−5{\cal B}(Λ_c^+ \to Σ^0 e^+ ν_e)=(1.5\pm 0.2)\times 10^{-5} and α(Λc+→Σ0e+νe)=−0.86±0.04α(Λ_c^+ \to Σ^0 e^+ ν_e)=-0.86\pm 0.04, respectively. Moreover, we obtain that ΔB≡B(Λc+→Σ0π+)−B(Λc+→Σ+π0)=(3.8±0.5)×10−4Δ{\cal B}\equiv {\cal B}(Λ_c^+\to Σ^0 π^+) - {\cal B}(Λ_c^+\to Σ^+π^0)=(3.8\pm 0.5)\times 10^{-4} and Δα≡α(Λc+→Σ0π+)−α(Λc+→Σ+π0)=(−1.6±0.7)×10−2Δα\equivα(Λ_c^+\to Σ^0 π^+) -α(Λ_c^+\to Σ^+π^0)=(-1.6\pm 0.7)\times10^{-2}, which should vanish without the mixing.

Nonleptonic two-body weak decays of ΛbΛ_b in modified MIT bag model

We study the nonleptonic two-body weak decays of ΛbΛ_b by modifying the MIT bag model without introducing new parameters to construct the momentum eigenstates of the baryons. We find that the branching ratios of Λb0→Λc+π−Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c^+ π^-, Λc+K−Λ_c^+ K^-, pπ−p π^- and pK−pK^- are (4.5±0.2)×10−3(4.5\pm0.2)\times 10^{-3}, (3.4±0.1)×10−4(3.4\pm 0.1)\times 10^{-4}, (5.0±0.5)×10−6(5.0\pm 0.5)\times 10^{-6} and (6.0±0.7)×10−6(6.0\pm 0.7) \times 10^{-6}, which are all well consistent with the current experimental data, respectively. We also explore P and CP asymmetries for the decays of Λb0→p(π−,K−)Λ_b^0 \to p (π^-,K^-). In particular, we obtain that the direct CP-violating rate asymmetries in Λb0→pπ−Λ_b^0 \to p π^- and Λb0→pK−Λ_b^0 \to p K^- are around −4.4%-4.4\% and 6.7%6.7\%, in comparison with (−2.5±2.9)%(-2.5\pm2.9)\% and (−2.5±2.2)%(-2.5\pm2.2)\% from the Particle Data Group in 2020, respectively.

Semileptonic decays of Λc+Λ_c^+ in dynamical approaches

We study the semileptonic decays of Λc+→Λ(n)ℓ+νℓΛ_c^+ \to Λ(n)\ell^+ ν_{\ell} in two relativistic dynamical approaches of the light-front constituent quark model (LFCQM) and MIT bag model (MBM). By considering the Fermi statistic between quarks and determining spin-flavor structures in baryons along with the helicity formalism in the two different dynamical models, we calculate the branching ratios (B{\cal B}s) and averaged asymmetry parameters (ααs) in the decays. Explicitly, we find that B(Λc+→Λe+νe)=(3.36±0.87,3.48)%{\cal B}( Λ_c^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e})=(3.36\pm0.87,3.48)\% and α(Λc+→Λe+νe)=(−0.97±0.03,−0.83)α( Λ_c^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e})=(-0.97\pm0.03,-0.83) in (LFCQM, MBM), in comparison with the data of B(Λc+→Λe+νe)=(3.6±0.4)%{\cal B}( Λ_c^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e})=(3.6\pm0.4)\% and α(Λc+→Λe+νe)=−0.86±0.04α( Λ_c^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e})=-0.86\pm 0.04 given by the Particle Data Group, respectively. We also predict that B(Λc+→ne+νe)=(0.57±0.15,3.6±1.5)×10−3{\cal B}( Λ_c^+ \to n e^+ ν_{e})=(0.57\pm0.15, 3.6\pm1.5)\times 10^{-3} and α(Λc+→ne+νe)=(−0.98±0.02,−0.96±0.04)α( Λ_c^+ \to n e^+ ν_{e})=(-0.98\pm0.02,-0.96\pm0.04) in LFCQM with two different scenarios for the momentum distributions of quarks in the neutron, and B(Λc+→ne+νe)=0.279×10−2{\cal B}( Λ_c^+ \to n e^+ ν_{e})= 0.279\times 10^{-2} and α(Λc+→ne+νe)=−0.87α( Λ_c^+ \to n e^+ ν_{e})=-0.87 in MBM, which could be tested by the ongoing experiments at BESIII, LHCb and BELLEII.

How NOT To Evaluate Your Dialogue System: An Empirical Study of Unsupervised Evaluation Metrics for Dialogue Response Generation

We investigate evaluation metrics for dialogue response generation systems where supervised labels, such as task completion, are not available. Recent works in response generation have adopted metrics from machine translation to compare a model's generated response to a single target response. We show that these metrics correlate very weakly with human judgements in the non-technical Twitter domain, and not at all in the technical Ubuntu domain. We provide quantitative and qualitative results highlighting specific weaknesses in existing metrics, and provide recommendations for future development of better automatic evaluation metrics for dialogue systems.
