Holographic time-dependent entanglement entropy in $p$-brane gas geometries

We study the time evolution of entanglement entropy in expanding universes with various matters. To describe expanding universes holographically, we take into account a braneworld moving in an asymptotic AdS space involving a uniform $p$-brane gas. In the braneworld model, an observer living in the braneworld detects the bulk motion of the braneworld as an expanding universe. We show that the entanglement entropy of expanding universes increases by the volume law in the early time and by the area law in the late time. We further consider the cosmological horizon, which is the border of the visible and invisible universe, and then investigate the time-dependent quantum entanglement between them across the cosmological horizon.

Holographic RG flow triggered by a classically marginal operator

We study the holographic renormalization group (RG) flow triggered by a classically marginal operator. When a marginal operator deforms a conformal field theory, it does not yield a nontrivial renormalization group flow at the classical level. At the quantum level, however, quantum corrections modify a marginal operator into one of the truly marginal, marginally relevant, and marginally irrelevant operators and can generate a nontrivial RG flow. We investigate the holographic description of a RG flow triggered by a marginal operator with quantum corrections. We look into how the physical quantities of a deformed theory, a coupling constant and the vacuum expectation value, rely on the RG scale. We further discuss the holographic description of the trace anomaly caused by the gluon condensation.

Finite size effect on quantum correlations

We holographically study the finite-size scaling effects on macroscopic and microscopic quantum correlations deformed by excitation and condensation. The excitation (condensation) increases (decreases) the entanglement entropy of the system. We also investigate the two-point correlation function of local operators by calculating the geodesic length connecting two local operators. As opposed to the entanglement entropy case, the excitation (condensation) decreases (increases) the two-point function. This is because the screening effect becomes strong in the background with the large entanglement entropy. We further show that the holographic renormalization leads to the qualitatively same two-point function as the one obtained from the geodesic length.

Time Evolution of Entanglement Entropy in Holographic FLRW Cosmologies

To understand the time-dependent quantum correlation in expanding universes, we study the time-dependent entanglement entropy in the braneworld model. If we take into account a generalized string cloud geometry caused by uniformly distributed open strings, cosmologies on the braneworld result in the standard Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker cosmologies with various matter contents. On the dual field theory side, open strings are reinterpreted as a fundamental matter, while the black hole mass corresponds to the excitation energy of massless gauge bosons. In this work, we show how the string cloud geometry is matched to various braneworld cosmologie,s for example, eternal inflation, radiation-, and matter-dominated universes. Then, we investigate how the entanglement entropy evolves in those expanding universes.

Exotic RG Flow of Entanglement Entropy

In this paper, we holographically study the renormalization group (RG) flow in a three-dimensional Einstein-dilaton gravity with a potential permitting several types of the RG flow with nontrivial beta-functions. By using the intrinsic parameter of the potential, we classify possible holographic RG flows and examine their physical features. Using the Ryu-Takayanagi formulation, furthermore, we investigate how the $c$-function of the entanglement entropy behaves along the RG flow numerically. We show that the entanglement $c$-function monotonically decreases even in the cases with a nontrivial beta-function. For checking the consistency, we also compare the result of the entanglement entropy with the $c$-function derived from the holographic renormalization procedure.

Conductivities in an anisotropic medium

In order to imitate anisotropic medium of a condensed matter system, we take into account an Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton-axion model as a dual gravity theory where the anisotropy is caused by different momentum relaxations. This gravity model allows an anisotropic charged black hole solution. On this background, we investigate how the linear responses of vector modes like electric, thermoelectric, and thermal conductivities rely on the anisotropy. We find that the electric conductivity in low frequency limit shows a Drude peak and that in the intermediate frequency regime it reveals the power law behavior. Especially, when the anisotropy increases the exponent of the power law becomes smaller. In addition, we find that there exist a critical value for the anisotropy at which the DC conductivity reaches to its maximum value.

Emergent geometry from field theory: Wilson's renormalization group revisited

We find a geometrical description from a field theoretical setup based on Wilson's renormalization group in real space. We show that renormalization group equations of coupling parameters encode the metric structure of an emergent curved space, regarded to be an Einstein equation for the emergent gravity. Self-consistent equations of local order-parameter fields with an emergent metric turn out to describe low energy dynamics of a strongly coupled field theory, analogous to the Maxwell equation of the Einstein-Maxwell theory in the AdS$_{d+2}$/CFT$_{d+1}$ duality conjecture. We claim that the AdS$_{3}$/CFT$_{2}$ duality may be interpreted as Landau-Ginzburg theory combined with Wilson's renormalization group, which introduces vertex corrections into the Landau-Ginzburg theory in the large$-N_{s}$ limit, where $N_{s}$ is the number of fermion flavors.

Meson's Correlation Functions in a Nuclear Medium

We investigate meson's spectrum, decay constant and form factor in a nuclear medium through holographic two- and three-point correlation functions. To describe a nuclear medium composed of protons and neutrons, we consider a hard wall model on the thermal charged AdS geometry and show that due to the isospin interaction with a nuclear medium, there exist splittings of the meson's spectrum, decay constant and form factor relying on the isospin charge. In addition, we show that the $ρ$-meson's form factor describing an interaction with pseudoscalar fluctuation decreases when the nuclear density increases, while the interaction with a longitudinal part of an axial vector meson increases.

On black hole thermodynamics with a momentum relaxation

We investigate black hole thermodynamics involving a scalar hair which is dual to a momentum relaxation of the dual field theory. This black hole geometry is able to be classified by two parameters. One is a momentum relaxation and the other is a mass density of another matter localized at the center. Even though all parameters are continuous, there exists a specific point where its thermodynamic interpretation is not continuously connected to the one defined in the other parameter regime. The similar feature also appears in a topological AdS black hole. In this work, we show why such an unusual thermodynamic feature happens and provide a unified way to understand such an exotic black hole thermodynamically in the entire parameter range.

Thermodynamic law from the entanglement entropy bound

From black hole thermodynamics, the Bekenstein bound has been proposed as a universal thermal entropy bound. It has been further generalized to an entanglement entropy bound which is valid even in a quantum system. In a quantumly entangled system, the non-negativity of the relative entropy leads to the entanglement entropy bound. When the entanglement entropy bound is saturated, a quantum system satisfies the thermodynamics-like law with an appropriately defined entanglement temperature. We show that the saturation of the entanglement entropy bound accounts for a universal feature of the entanglement temperature proportional to the inverse of the system size. In addition, we show that the deformed modular Hamiltonian under a global quench also satisfies the generalized entanglement entropy boundary after introducing a new quantity called the entanglement chemical potential.

Holographic entanglement entropy in the nonconformal medium

We investigate holographically the entanglement entropy of a nonconformal medium whose dual geometry is described by an Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory. Due to an additional conserved charge corresponding to the number operator, its thermodynamics can be represented in a grandcanonical or canonical ensemble. We study thermodynamics in both ensembles by using the holographic renormalization and the entanglement entropy of a nonconformal medium. After defining the entanglement chemical potential which unlike the entanglement temperature has a nontrivial size dependence, we find that the entanglement entropy of a small subsystem satisfies the relation resembling the first law of thermodynamics in a medium. Furthermore, we study the entanglement entropy change in the nonconformal medium caused by the excitation of the ground state and by the global quench corresponding to the insertion of particles.

Holographic Entanglement Entropy of Mass-deformed ABJM Theory

We investigate the effect of supersymmetry preserving mass deformation near the UV fixed point represented by the ${\cal N}=6$ ABJM theory. In the context of the gauge/gravity duality, we analytically calculate the leading small mass effect on the renormalized entanglement entropy (REE) for the most general Lin-Lunin-Maldacena (LLM) geometries in the cases of the strip and disk shaped entangling surfaces. Our result shows that the properties of the REE in (2+1)-dimensions are consistent with those of the $c$-function in (1+1)-dimensions. We also discuss the validity of our computations in terms of the curvature behavior of the LLM geometry in the large $N$ limit and the relation between the correlation length and the mass parameter for a special LLM solution.

Holographic Nucleons in the Nuclear Medium

We investigate the nucleon's rest mass and dispersion relation in the nuclear medium which is holographically described by the thermal charged AdS geometry. On this background, the chiral condensate plays an important role to determine the nucleon's mass in both the vacuum and the nuclear medium. It also significantly modifies the nucleon's dispersion relation. The nucleon's mass in the high density regime increases with density as expected, while in the low density regime it slightly decreases. We further study the splitting of the nucleon's masses caused by the isospin interaction with the nuclear medium.

Logarithmic Corrections to the Entanglement Entropy

In a $d$-dimensional conformal field theory, it has been known that a relevant deformation operator with the conformal dimension, $Δ=\frac{d+2}{2}$, generates a logarithmic correction to the entanglement entropy. In the large 't Hooft coupling limit, we can investigate such a logarithmic correction holographically by deforming an AdS space with a massive scalar field dual to the operator with $Δ=\frac{d+2}{2}$. There are two sources generating the logarithmic correction. One is the metric deformation and the other is the minimal surface deformation. In this work, we investigate the change of the entanglement entropy caused by the minimal surface deformation and find that the second order minimal surface deformation leads to an additional logarithmic correction.

Holographic renormalization in dense medium

We investigate the holographic renormalization of a charged black brane with or without a dilaton field, whose dual field theory describes a dense medium at finite temperature. In a dense medium, two different thermodynamic descriptions are possible due to an additional conserved charge. These two different thermodynamic ensembles are classified by the asymptotic boundary condition of the bulk gauge field. We show that in the holographic renormalization regularity of all bulk fields can reproduce consistent thermodynamic quantities and that the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy is nothing but the renormalized thermal entropy of the dual field theory. Furthermore, we find that the Reissner-Nordstrom AdS black brane is dual to a theory with conformal matter as expected, whereas a charged black brane with a nontrivial dilaton profile is mapped to a theory with non-conformal matter although its leading asymptotic geometry still remains as AdS space.

Nucleon mass splitting in the isospin medium

Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, we investigate a nucleon mass splitting and nucleon-pion coupling in the isospin medium. We find that there exists a nucleon mass splitting which is exactly given by the half of the meson mass splitting because nucleon has the half isospin charge of the charged mesons. In addition, we also investigate the nucleon-pion coupling, which requires the modification of the known Abelian-type unitary gauge fixing term because non-Abelian fluctuations should be taken into account in the isospin medium. In this paper, after constructing an appropriate unitary gauge fixing term, we find that in spite of the nucleon's and meson's mass splittings, there is no nucleon-pion coupling splitting in the isospin medium.

Properties of Holographic Mesons on Dense Medium

We study the energy dispersions of holographic light mesons and their decay constants on dense nuclear medium. As the spatial momenta of mesons along the boundary direction increase, both observables of the mesons not only increase but also split according to the isospin charges. The decay constant of the negative meson is more large than that of the positive meson of the same type due to the chemical potentials of the background nucleons.

Renormalized Entanglement Entropy Flow in Mass-deformed ABJM Theory

We investigate a mass deformation effect on the renormalized entanglement entropy (REE) near the UV fixed point in (2+1)-dimensional field theory. In the context of the gauge/gravity duality, we use the Lin-Lunin-Maldacena (LLM) geometries corresponding to the vacua of the mass-deformed ABJM theory. We analytically compute the small mass effect for various droplet configurations and show in holographic point of view that the REE is monotonically decreasing, positive, and stationary at the UV fixed point. These properties of the REE in (2+1)-dimensions are consistent with the Zamolodchikov $c$-function proposed in (1+1)-dimensional conformal field theory.

A Massive Quasi-normal Mode in the Holographic Lifshitz Theory

We investigate the holographic renormalization of the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory which provides an asymptotic Lifshitz geometry dual to a Lifshitz field theory. In this case, the existence of a field combination with zero scaling dimension causes an ambiguity in fixing local counter terms. Nevertheless, we show that all possible local counter terms give rise to consistent thermodynamic quantities with the Lifshitz black brane results. In addition, we also study the retarded Green functions of the current and momentum operator of a non-relativistic Lifshitz field theory. In the non-zero momentum regime, the results show intriguingly that there exists a massive quasi-normal mode whose effective mass is linearly proportional to temperature and that even at zero temperature there exists a quasi-normal mode in the non-relativistic Lifshitz medium.

Correlation functions of the ABJM model

In the ABJM model, we study the three-point function of two heavy operators and an (ir)relevant one. Following the AdS/CFT correspondence, the structure constant in the large 't Hooft coupling limit can be factorized into two parts. One is the structure constant with a marginal operator, which is fully determined by the physical quantities of heavy operator and gives rise to the consistent result with the RG analysis. The other can be expressed as the universal form depending only on the conformal dimension of an (ir)relevant operator. We also investigate the new size effect of a circular string dual to a certain closed spin chain.

Correlators of massive string states with conserved currents

We calculate correlation functions of the R-current or the stress-energy tensor T_{μν} with two non-protected operators dual to generic massive string states with rotation in S^5, in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. Field theory Ward identities make predictions about the all-loop behaviour of these correlators. In particular, they restrict the fusion coefficient to be proportional to the R-charge of the operators or to their dimension, respectively, with certain coefficients of proportionality. We reproduce these predictions, at strong coupling, using string theory. Furthermore, we point out that the recently observed strong coupling factorisation of 4-point correlators is consistent with conformal symmetry and puts constraints on the strong coupling expressions of 4-point correlators involving R-currents or the stress-energy tensor.

Holographic aspects of a relativistic non-conformal theory

We study a general D-dimensional Schwarzschild-type black brane solution of the Einstein-dilaton theory and derive, by using the holographic renormalization, its thermodynamics consistent with the geometric results. Using the membrane paradigm, we calculate the several hydrodynamic transport coefficients and compare them with the results obtained by the Kubo formula, which shows the self-consistency of the gauge/gravity duality in the relativistic non-conformal theory. In order to understand more about the relativistic non-conformal theory, we further investigate the binding energy, drag force and holographic entanglement entropy of the relativistic non-conformal theory.

Holographic meson mass splitting in the Nuclear Matter

We study the holographic light meson spectra and their mass splitting in the nuclear medium. In order to describe the nuclear matter, we take into account the thermal charged AdS geometry with two flavor charges, which can be reinterpreted as the number densities of proton and neutron after some field redefinitions. We show that the meson mass splitting occurs when there exists the density difference between proton and neutron. Depending on the flavor charge, the mass of the positively (negatively) charged meson increases (decreases) as the density difference increases, whereas the neutral meson mass is independent of the density difference. In the regime of the large nucleon density with a relatively large number difference between proton and neutron, we find that negatively charged pion becomes massless in the nuclear medium, so the pion condensate can occur. We also investigate the binding energy of a heavy quarkonium in the nuclear medium, in which the binding energy of a heavy quarkonium becomes weaker as the density difference increases.

Inside and outside stories of black-branes in anti de Sitter space

In this paper, we investigate the dynamics inside and outside of black-branes in anti de Sitter space by numerical simulations using double-null formalism. We prepare a charged planar matter shell which, due to a negative cosmological constant, collapses and dynamically forms a black-brane with an apparent horizon, a singularity and a Cauchy horizon. The gravitational collapse cannot form a naked overcharged black-brane and hence weak cosmic censorship is safe. Although mass inflation occurs, the effect is much milder than in the case of charged black holes; hence, strong cosmic censorship seems not to be safe. We observed the scalar field dynamics outside the horizon. There should remain a non-trivial scalar field combination - 'charge cloud' - between the horizon and the boundary. This can give some meaning in terms of the AdS/CFT correspondence.

Notes on the holographic Lifshitz theory

On the Lifshitz black brane geometry of an Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton gravity, we holographically investigate electric DC conductivities and the role of impurity in a non-relativistic Lifshitz medium with two different charge carriers, impurity and Lifshitz matter. The conductivity carried by Lifshitz matter is proportional to the square of temperature, while that carried by impurity crucially depends on the bulk coupling parameter \g. For \g < -2, impurity at high temperature can change the electric property of the Lifshitz medium significantly so that the Lifshitz matter with impurity can show a totally different electric property from the pure Lifshitz matter.

Transport in non-conformal holographic fluids

We have considered non-conformal fluid dynamics whose gravity dual is a certain Einstein dilaton system with Liouville type dilaton potential, characterized by an intrinsic parameter $η$. We have discussed the Hawking-Page transition in this framework using hard-wall model and it turns out that the critical temperature of the Hawking-Page transition encapsulates a non-trivial dependence on $η$. We also obtained transport coefficients such as AC conductivity, shear viscosity and diffusion constant in the hydrodynamic limit, which show non-trivial $η$ dependent deviations from those in conformal fluids, although the ratio of the shear viscosity to entropy density is found to saturate the universal bound. Some of the retarded correlators are also computed in the high frequency limit for case study.

Chern-Simons effect on the dual hydrodynamics in the Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet gravity

Following the previous work 1103.3773, we give a more general and systematic discussion on the Chern-Simons effect in the 5-dimensional Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. After constructing the first order perturbative black brane solution, we extract the stress tensor and charge current of dual fluid. From these results, we find out the dependence of some transport coefficients on the Gauss-Bonnet coupling $α$ and Chern-Simons coupling $κ_{cs}$. We also show that the new anomalous term can provide an additional contribution to the anomalous chiral magnetic conductivity.

Non-conformal Hydrodynamics in Einstein-dilaton Theory

In the Einestein-dilaton theory with a Liouville potential parameterized by $η$, we find a Schwarzschild-type black hole solution. This black hole solution, whose asymptotic geometry is described by the warped metric, is thermodynamically stable only for $0 \le η< 2$. Applying the gauge/gravity duality, we find that the dual gauge theory represents a non-conformal thermal system with the equation of state depending on $η$. After turning on the bulk vector fluctuations with and without a dilaton coupling, we calculate the charge diffusion constant, which indicates that the life time of the quasi normal mode decreases with $η$. Interestingly, the vector fluctuation with the dilaton coupling shows that the DC conductivity increases with temperature, a feature commonly found in electrolytes.

A Holographic Model of Strange Metals

We give a review on our recent work arXiv:1006.0779 [hep-th] and arXiv:1006.1719 [hep-th], in which properties of holographic strange metals were investigated. The background is chosen to be anisotropic scaling solution in Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton theory with a Liouville potential. The effects of bulk Maxwell field, an extra U(1) gauge field and probe D-branes on the DC conductivity, the DC Hall conductivity and the AC conductivity are extensively analyzed. We classify behaviors of the conductivities according to the parameter ranges in the bulk theory and characterize conditions when the holographic results can reproduce experimental data.

Conductivity in the anisotropic background

By using the gauge/gravity duality, we investigate the dual field theories of the anisotropic backgrounds, which are exact solutions of Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory with a Liouville potential. When we turn on the bulk gauge field fluctuation $A_x$ with a non-trivial dilaton coupling, the AC conductivity of this dual field theory is proportional to the frequency with an exponent depending on parameters of the anisotropic background. In some parameter regions, we find that this conductivity can have the negative exponent like the strange metal. In addition, we also investigate another U(1) gauge field fluctuation, which is not coupled with a dilaton field. We classify all possible conductivities of this system and find that the exponent of the conductivity is always positive.

Correlation functions of magnon and spike

After considering a solitonic string moving in the Poincare $AdS$ and two-dimensional sphere, we calculate the two-point correlation function of magnon and spike in the semi-classical limit without any explicit solution. We also calculate the three-point correlation functions between two heavy and one light operators. We find that the coupling between two heavy and one light operators in the string side is the exactly same as one obtained from the gauge theory by using the RG analysis.

Holographic Meson Spectra in the Dense Medium with Chiral Condensate

We study two $1/N_c$ effects on the meson spectra by using the AdS/CFT correspondence where the $1/N_c$ corrections from the chiral condensate and the quark density are controlled by the gravitational backreaction of the massive scalar field and U(1) gauge field respectively. The dual geometries with zero and nonzero current quark masses are obtained numerically. We discuss meson spectra and binding energy of heavy quarkonium with the subleading corrections in the hard wall model.

Holographic superconductor in the exact hairy black hole

We study the charged black hole of hyperbolic horizon with scalar hair (charged Martinez-Troncoso-Zanelli: CMTZ black hole) as a model of analytic hairy black hole for holographic superconductor. For this purpose, we investigate the second order phase transition between CMTZ and hyperbolic Reissner-Nordström-AdS (HRNAdS) black holes. However, this transition unlikely occur. As an analytic treatment for holographic superconductor, we develop superconductor in the bulk and superfluidity on the boundary using the CMTZ black hole below the critical temperature. The presence of charge destroys the condensates around the zero temperature, which is in accord with the thermodynamic analysis of the CMTZ black hole.

Holographic Symmetry Energy of the Nuclear Matter

We calculate the symmetry energy of the nuclear matter by using the bottom-up approach, so called hard wall model. To consider the nuclear matter, we introduce the isospin for u- and d-quarks. We find that in the hard wall model, the symmetry energy of the nuclear matter is proportional to the square of nucleon density. We also study the symmetry energy of the quark matter in the deconfining phase. Finally, we investigate the effect of the symmetry energy on the Hawking-Page transition and show that at the given quark density, the Hawking-Page transition temperature decreases due to the symmetry energy.

Yang-Mills Instantons from Gravitational Instantons

We show that every gravitational instantons are SU(2) Yang-Mills instantons on a Ricci-flat four manifold although the reverse is not necessarily true. It is shown that gravitational instantons satisfy exactly the same self-duality equation of SU(2) Yang-Mills instantons on the Ricci-flat manifold determined by the gravitational instantons themselves. We explicitly check the correspondence with several examples and discuss their topological properties.

Gravitational Collapse of the Shells with the Smeared Gravitational Source in Noncommutative Geometry

We study the formation of the (noncommutative) Schwarzschild black hole from collapsing shell {of the} generalized matters containing polytropic and Chaplygin gas. We show that this collapsing shell depending on various parameters forms either a black hole or a naked singular shell with the help of the pressure.Furthermore, by considering the smeared gravitational sources, we investigate the noncommutative black holes formation. Though this mild noncommutative correction of matters cannot ultimately resolve the emergence of the naked singularity, we show that in some parameter region the collapsing shell evolves to a noncommutative black hole before becoming a naked singular shell.

Holographic 1/Nc correction from the chiral condensate

We investigate a gravity solution containing the gravitational backreaction of the massive scalar field dual to the chiral condensate, which corresponds to $1/N_c$ correction. In general, condensation changes the vacuum structure, so the present dual geometry is appropriate to describe the chiral condensate vacuum in the gauge theory side. After constructing the dual geometry numerically and applying the hard wall model we study the effect of the $1/N_c$ correction on the lightest meson spectra, which improves the values for lightest meson masses into the observations. In addition, we investigate the chiral condensate dependence the binding energy of heavy quarkonium.

Meson spectra in a gluon condensate background

We study the spectra of light mesons as well as the dissociation of a quarkonium and monopole-anti monopole bound state in a gluon condensate background. In order to describe the confining phase we introduce an IR cutoff in two ways, namely the hard wall and the braneless approaches. We find that the meson spectra strongly depend on the gluon condensate in the braneless approach, while they do not in the hard wall model. The latter result appears to be a more probable feature of QCD.

Strange Metallic Behavior in Anisotropic Background

We continue our analysis on conductivity in the anisotropic background by employing the D-brane probe technique, where the D-branes play the role of charge carriers. The DC and AC conductivity for massless charge carriers are obtained analytically, while interesting curves for the AC conductivity are also plotted. For massive charge carriers, we calculate the DC and AC conductivities in the dilute limit and we fix the parameters in the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory so that the background exhibits the same scaling behaviors as those for real-world strange metals. The DC conductivity at finite density is also computed.

Zero Sound in Effective Holographic Theories

We investigate zero sound in $D$-dimensional effective holographic theories, whose action is given by Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton terms. The bulk spacetimes include both zero temperature backgrounds with anisotropic scaling symmetry and their near-extremal counterparts obtained in 1006.2124 [hep-th], while the massless charge carriers are described by probe D-branes. We discuss thermodynamics of the probe D-branes analytically. In particular, we clarify the conditions under which the specific heat is linear in the temperature, which is a characteristic feature of Fermi liquids. We also compute the retarded Green's functions in the limit of low frequency and low momentum and find quasi-particle excitations in certain regime of the parameters. The retarded Green's functions are plotted at specific values of parameters in $D=4$, where the specific heat is linear in the temperature and the quasi-particle excitation exists. We also calculate the AC conductivity in $D$-dimensions as a by-product.

A Dual Geometry of the Hadron in Dense Matter

We identify the dual geometry of the hadron phase of dense nuclear matter and investigate the confinement/deconfinement phase transition. We suggest that the low temperature phase of the RN black hole with the full backreaction of the bulk gauge field is described by the zero mass limit of the RN black hole with hard wall. The dissociation of a heavy meson in the quark medium

We investigate the dissociation of a heavy meson in the medium composed of light quarks and gluons. In the quark-gluon plasma, the dissociation length of the heavy meson becomes short as the temperature or quark chemical potential increases. On the contrary, in the hadronic phase the dissociation length becomes large as the chemical potential increases, due to the different dissociation mechanism with one used in the quark-gluon plasma.

The effect of gluon condensate on holographic heavy quark potential

The gluon condensate is very sensitive to the QCD deconfinement transition since its value changes drastically with the deconfinement transition. We calculate the gluon condensate dependence of the heavy quark potential in AdS/CFT to study how the property of the heavy quarkonium is affected by a relic of the deconfinement transition. We observe that the heavy quark potential becomes deeper as the value of the gluon condensate decreases. We interpret this as a dropping of the heavy quarkonium mass just above the deconfinement transition, which is similar to the results obtained from QCD sum rule and from a bottom-up AdS/QCD model.

We also study the solution for strings on AdS$_3\times$ S$^3$ with Melvin deformation. Phases of the Brans-Dicke Cosmology with Matter

We study the cosmology of the Brans-Dicke theory with perfect fluid type matter. In our previous work, we found exact solutions for any Brans-Dicke parameter $ω$ and for general parameter $γ$ of equation of state. In this paper we further study the cosmology of these solutions by analyzing them according to their asymptotic behaviors. The cosmology is classified into 19 phases according to the values of $γ$ and $ω$. The effect of the cosmological constant to the Brans-Dicke theory is a particular case of our model. We give plot of time evolution of the scale factor by numerical investigations. We also give a comparison of the solutions for the theories with and without matter.
