Classification, Koszulity and Artin-Schelter Regularity of certain Graded Twisted Tensor Products

Let k\mathbb{k} be an algebraically closed field. We classify all of the quadratic twisted tensor products A⊗τBA \otimes_τ B in the cases where (A,B)=(k[x],k[y])(A, B) = (\mathbb{k}[x], \mathbb{k}[y]) and (A,B)=(k[x,y],k[z])(A, B) = (\mathbb{k}[x, y], \mathbb{k}[z]). We determine when a quadratic twisted tensor product of this form is Koszul, and when it is Artin-Schelter regular.

Some non-Koszul algebras from rational homotopy theory

The McCool group, denoted PΣnPΣ_n, is the group of pure symmetric automorphisms of a free group of rank nn. The cohomology algebra H∗(PΣn,Q)H^*(PΣ_n, \mathbb{Q}) was determined by Jensen, McCammond and Meier. We prove that H∗(PΣn,Q)H^*(PΣ_n, \mathbb{Q}) is a non-Koszul algebra for n≥4n \geq 4, which answers a question of Cohen and Pruidze. We also study the enveloping algebra of the graded Lie algebra associated to the lower central series of PΣnPΣ_n, and prove that it has two natural decompositions as a smash product of algebras.

Periodic free resolutions from twisted matrix factorizations

The notion of a matrix factorization was introduced by Eisenbud in the commutative case in his study of bounded (periodic) free resolutions over complete intersections. In this work, we extend the notion of (homogeneous) matrix factorizations to regular normal elements of connected graded algebras over a field. Next, we relate the category of twisted matrix factorizations to an element over a ring and certain Zhang twists. We also show that in the AS-regular setting, every sufficiently high syzygy module is the cokernel of some twisted matrix factorization. Furthermore, we show that in this setting there is an equivalence of categories between the homotopy category of twisted matrix factorizations and the singularity category of the hypersurface, following work of Orlov.

A∞A_{\infty}-algebra Structures Associated to K2\mathcal{K}_2-algebras

The notion of a K2\mathcal{K}_2-algebra was recently introduced by Cassidy and Shelton as a generalization of the notion of a Koszul algebra. The Yoneda algebra of any connected graded algebra admits a canonical A∞A_{\infty}-algebra structure. This structure is trivial if the algebra is Koszul. We study the A∞A_{\infty}-structure on the Yoneda algebra of a K2\mathcal{K}_2-algebra. For each non-negative integer nn we prove the existence of a K2\mathcal{K}_2-algebra BB and a canonical A∞A_{\infty}-algebra structure on the Yoneda algebra of BB such that the higher multiplications mim_i are nonzero for all 3≤i≤n+33 \leq i \leq n+3. We also provide examples which show that the K2\mathcal{K}_2 property is not detected by any obvious vanishing patterns among higher multiplications.
