Graded Coherence of Certain Extensions of Graded Algebras

Let $\k$ be a field, and let AA and BB be connected N\N-graded $\k$-algebras. The algebra AA is said to be a graded right-free extension of BB provided there is a surjective graded algebra morphism π:A→Bπ: A \to B such that ker⁡π\kerπ is free as a right AA-module. Suppose that BB is graded left coherent, and that AA is a graded right-free extension of BB. We characterize when AA is also graded left coherent. We apply our criterion to prove graded coherence of certain non-Noetherian graded twisted tensor products.

Classification, Koszulity and Artin-Schelter Regularity of certain Graded Twisted Tensor Products

Let k\mathbb{k} be an algebraically closed field. We classify all of the quadratic twisted tensor products A⊗τBA \otimes_τ B in the cases where (A,B)=(k[x],k[y])(A, B) = (\mathbb{k}[x], \mathbb{k}[y]) and (A,B)=(k[x,y],k[z])(A, B) = (\mathbb{k}[x, y], \mathbb{k}[z]). We determine when a quadratic twisted tensor product of this form is Koszul, and when it is Artin-Schelter regular.

Some non-Koszul algebras from rational homotopy theory

The McCool group, denoted PΣnPΣ_n, is the group of pure symmetric automorphisms of a free group of rank nn. The cohomology algebra H∗(PΣn,Q)H^*(PΣ_n, \mathbb{Q}) was determined by Jensen, McCammond and Meier. We prove that H∗(PΣn,Q)H^*(PΣ_n, \mathbb{Q}) is a non-Koszul algebra for n≥4n \geq 4, which answers a question of Cohen and Pruidze. We also study the enveloping algebra of the graded Lie algebra associated to the lower central series of PΣnPΣ_n, and prove that it has two natural decompositions as a smash product of algebras.
