On two weight estimates for iterated commutators

In this paper we extend the bump conjecture and a particular case of the separated bump conjecture with logarithmic bumps to iterated commutators $T_b^m$. Our results are new even for the first order commutator $T_b^1$. A new bump type necessary condition for the two-weighted boundedness of $T_b^m$ is obtained as well. We also provide some results related to a converse to Bloom's theorem.

Mixed $A_p$-$A_\infty$ estimates with one supremum

We establish several mixed $A_p$-$A_\infty$ bounds for Calderón-Zygmund operators that only involve one supremum. We address both cases when the $A_\infty$ part of the constant is measured using the exponential-logarithmic definition and using the Fujii-Wilson definition. In particular, we answer a question of the first author and provide an answer, up to a logarithmic factor, of a conjecture of Hytönen and Lacey. Moreover, we give an example to show that our bounds with the logarithmic factors can be arbitrarily smaller than the previously known bounds (both one supremum and two suprema).

On sharp aperture-weighted estimates for square functions

Let $S_{\a,ψ}(f)$ be the square function defined by means of the cone in ${\mathbb R}^{n+1}_{+}$ of aperture $\a$, and a standard kernel $ψ$. Let $[w]_{A_p}$ denote the $A_p$ characteristic of the weight $w$. We show that for any $1<p<\infty$ and $\a\ge 1$, $$\|S_{\a,ψ}\|_{L^p(w)}\lesssim \a^n[w]_{A_p}^{\max(1/2,\frac{1}{p-1})}.$$ For each fixed $\a$ the dependence on $[w]_{A_p}$ is sharp. Also, on all class $A_p$ the result is sharp in $\a$. Previously this estimate was proved in the case $\a=1$ using the intrinsic square function. However, that approach does not allow to get the above estimate with sharp dependence on $\a$. Hence we give a different proof suitable for all $\a\ge 1$ and avoiding the notion of the intrinsic square function.

On an estimate of Calderón-Zygmund operators by dyadic positive operators

Given a general dyadic grid ${\mathscr{D}}$ and a sparse family of cubes ${\mathcal S}=\{Q_j^k\}\in {\mathscr{D}}$, define a dyadic positive operator ${\mathcal A}_{\mathscr{D},{\mathcal S}}$ by $${\mathcal A}_{\mathscr{D},{\mathcal S}}f(x)=\sum_{j,k}f_{Q_j^k}χ_{Q_j^k}(x).$$ Given a Banach function space $X({\mathbb R}^n)$ and the maximal Calderón-Zygmund operator $T_{\natural}$, we show that $$\|T_{\natural}f\|_X\le c(n,T)\sup_{\mathscr{D},{\mathcal S}}\|{\mathcal A}_{\mathscr{D},{\mathcal S}}f\|_{X}.$$ This result is applied to weighted inequalities. In particular, it implies: (i) the "two-weight conjecture" by D. Cruz-Uribe and C. Pérez in full generality; (ii) a simplification of the proof of the "$A_2$ conjecture"; (iii) an extension of certain mixed $A_p$-$A_r$ estimates to general Calderón-Zygmund operators; (iv) an extension of sharp $A_1$ estimates (known for $T$) to the maximal Calderón-Zygmund operator $T_{\natural}$.

Sharp weighted bounds for multilinear maximal functions and Calderón-Zygmund operators

In this paper we prove some sharp weighted norm inequalities for the multi(sub)linear maximal function $\Mm$ introduced in \cite{LOPTT} and for multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators. In particular we obtain a sharp mixed "$A_p-A_{\infty}$" bound for $\Mm$, some partial results related to a Buckley-type estimate for $\Mm$, and a sufficient condition for the boundedness of $\Mm$ between weighted $L^p$ spaces with different weights taking into account the precise bounds. Next we get a bound for multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators in terms of dyadic positive multilinear operators in the spirit of the recent work. Then we obtain a multilinear version of the "$A_2$ conjecture". Several open problems are posed.

Mixed $A_p$-$A_r$ inequalities for classical singular integrals and Littlewood-Paley operators

We prove mixed $A_p$-$A_r$ inequalities for several basic singular integrals, Littlewood-Paley operators, and the vector-valued maximal function. Our key point is that $r$ can be taken arbitrary big. Hence such inequalities are close in spirit to those obtained recently in the works by T. Hytönen and C. Pérez, and M. Lacey. On one hand, the "$A_p$-$A_{\infty}$" constant in these works involves two independent suprema. On the other hand, the "$A_p$-$A_r$" constant in our estimates involves a joint supremum but of a bigger expression. We show in simple examples that both such constants are incomparable. This leads to a natural conjecture that the estimates of both types can be further improved.

Sharp weighted norm inequalities for Littlewood-Paley operators and singular integrals

We prove sharp $L^p(w)$ norm inequalities for the intrinsic square function (introduced recently by M. Wilson) in terms of the $A_p$ characteristic of $w$ for all $1<p<\infty$. This implies the same sharp inequalities for the classical Lusin area integral $S(f)$, the Littlewood-Paley $g$-function, and their continuous analogs $S_ψ$ and $g_ψ$. Also, as a corollary, we obtain sharp weighted inequalities for any convolution Calderón-Zygmund operator for all $1<p\le 3/2$ and $3\le p<\infty$, and for its maximal truncations for $3\le p<\infty$.
