A $G$-covering subgroup system of a finite group for some classes of $σ$-soluble groups

Let ${\frak F}$ be a class of group and $G$ a finite group. Then a set $Σ$ of subgroups of $G$ is called a \emph{$G$-covering subgroup system} for the class ${\frak F}$ if $G\in {\frak F}$ whenever $Σ\subseteq {\frak F}$. We prove that: {\sl If a set of subgroups $Σ$ of $G$ contains at least one supplement to each maximal subgroup of every Sylow subgroup of $G$, then $Σ$ is a $G$-covering subgroup system for the classes of all $σ$-soluble and all $σ$-nilpotent groups, and for the class of all $σ$-soluble $PσT$-groups.} This result gives positive answers to questions 19.87 and 19.88 from the Kourovka notebook.

On $σ$-arithmetic graphs of finite groups

Let $G$ be a finite group and $σ$ a partition of the set of all? primes $\Bbb{P}$, that is, $σ=\{σ_i \mid i\in I \}$, where $\Bbb{P}=\bigcup_{i\in I} σ_i$ and $σ_i\cap σ_j= \emptyset $ for all $i\ne j$. If $n$ is an integer, we write $σ(n)=\{σ_i \mid σ_{i}\cap π(n)\ne \emptyset \}$ and $σ(G)=σ(|G|)$. We call a graph $Γ$ with the set of all vertices $V(Γ)=σ(G)$ ($G\ne 1$) a $σ$-arithmetic graph of $G$, and we associate with $G\ne 1$ the following three directed $σ$-arithmetic graphs: (1) the $σ$-Hawkes graph $Γ_{Hσ}(G)$ of $G$ is a $σ$-arithmetic graph of $G$ in which $(σ_i, σ_j)\in E(Γ_{Hσ}(G))$ if $σ_j\in σ(G/F_{\{σ_i\}}(G))$; (2) the $σ$-Hall graph $Γ_{σHal}(G)$ of $G$ in which $(σ_i, σ_j)\in E(Γ_{σHal}(G))$ if for some Hall $σ_i$-subgroup $H$ of $G$ we have $σ_j\in σ(N_{G}(H)/HC_{G}(H))$; (3) the $σ$-Vasil'ev-Murashko graph $Γ_{{\mathfrak{N}_σ}}(G)$ of $G$ in which $(σ_i, σ_j)\in E(Γ_{{\mathfrak{N}_σ}}(G))$ if for some ${\mathfrak{N}_{σ}}$-critical subgroup $H$ of $G$ we have $σ_i \in σ(H)$ and $σ_j\in σ(H/F_{\{σ_i\}}(H))$. In this paper, we study the structure of $G$ depending on the properties of these three graphs of $G$.

Finite groups whose $n$-maximal subgroups are $σ$-subnormal

Let $σ=\{σ_{i} | i\in I\}$ be some partition of the set of all primes $\Bbb{P}$. A set ${\cal H}$ of subgroups of $G$ is said to be a \emph{complete Hall $σ$-set} of $G$ if every member $\ne 1$ of ${\cal H}$ is a Hall $σ_{i}$-subgroup of $G$, for some $i\in I$, and $\cal H$ contains exact one Hall $σ_{i}$-subgroup of $G$ for every $σ_{i}\in σ(G)$. A subgroup $H$ of $G$ is said to be: \emph{$σ$-permutable} or \emph{$σ$-quasinormal} in $G$ if $G$ possesses a complete Hall $σ$-set set ${\cal H}$ such that $HA^{x}=A^{x}H$ for all $A\in {\cal H}$ and $x\in G$: \emph{$σ$-subnormal} in $G$ if there is a subgroup chain $A=A_{0} \leq A_{1} \leq \cdots \leq A_{t}=G$ such that either $A_{i-1}\trianglelefteq A_{i}$ or $A_{i}/(A_{i-1})_{A_{i}}$ is a finite $σ_{i}$-group for some $σ_{i}\in σ$ for all $i=1, \ldots t$. If each $n$-maximal subgroup of $G$ is $σ$-subnormal ($σ$-quasinormal, respectively) in $G$ but, in the case $ n > 1$, some $(n-1)$-maximal subgroup is not $σ$-subnormal (not $σ$-quasinormal, respectively)) in $G$, we write $m_σ(G)=n$ ($m_{σq}(G)=n$, respectively). In this paper, we show that the parameters $m_σ(G)$ and $m_{σq}(G)$ make possible to bound the $σ$-nilpotent length $ \ l_σ(G)$ (see below the definitions of the terms employed), the rank $r(G)$ and the number $|π(G)|$ of all distinct primes dividing the order $|G|$ of a finite soluble group $G$. We also give conditions under which a finite group is $σ$-soluble or $σ$-nilpotent, and describe the structure of a finite soluble group $G$ in the case when $m_σ(G)=|π(G)|$. Some known results are generalized.

On $σ$-semipermutable subgroups of finite groups

Let $σ=\{σ_{i} | i\in I\}$ be some partition of the set of all primes $\Bbb{P}$, $G$ a finite group and $σ(G) =\{σ_{i} |σ_{i}\cap π(G)\ne \emptyset \}$. A set ${\cal H}$ of subgroups of $G$ is said to be a \emph{complete Hall $σ$-set} of $G$ if every member $\ne 1$ of ${\cal H}$ is a Hall $σ_{i}$-subgroup of $G$ for some $σ_{i}\in σ$ and ${\cal H}$ contains exact one Hall $σ_{i}$-subgroup of $G$ for every $σ_{i}\in σ(G)$. A subgroup $H$ of $G$ is said to be: \emph{$σ$-semipermutable in $G$ with respect to ${\cal H}$} if $HH_{i}^{x}=H_{i}^{x}H$ for all $x\in G$ and all $H_i\in {\cal H}$ such that $(|H|, |H_{i}|)=1$; \emph{$σ$-semipermutable in $G$} if $H$ is $σ$-semipermutable in $G$ with respect to some complete Hall $σ$-set of $G$. We study the structure of $G$ being based on the assumption that some subgroups of $G$ are $σ$-semipermutable in $G$.

On finite $PσT$-groups

Let $σ=\{σ_{i} | i\in I\}$ be some partition of the set of all primes $\Bbb{P}$ and $G$ a finite group. $G$ is said to be \emph{$σ$-soluble} if every chief factor $H/K$ of $G$ is a $σ_{i}$-group for some $i=i(H/K)$. A set ${\cal H}$ of subgroups of $G$ is said to be a \emph{complete Hall $σ$-set} of $G$ if every member $\ne 1$ of ${\cal H}$ is a Hall $σ_{i}$-subgroup of $G$ for some $σ_{i}\in σ$ and ${\cal H}$ contains exact one Hall $σ_{i}$-subgroup of $G$ for every $i \in I$ such that $σ_{i}\cap π(G)\ne \emptyset$. A subgroup $A$ of $G$ is said to be \emph{$σ$-permutable} or \emph{$σ$-quasinormal} in $G$ if $G$ has a complete Hall $σ$-set $\cal H$ such that $AH^{x}=H^{x}A$ for all $x\in G$ and all $H\in \cal H$. We obtain a characterization of finite $σ$-soluble groups $G$ in which $σ$-quasinormality is a transitive relation in $G$.

On one generalization of finite $\frak U$-critical groups

A proper subgroup $H$ of a group $G$ is said to be: $\Bbb{P}$-subnormal in $G$ if there exists a chain of subgroups $H=H_0 < H_1< ... < H_{n}=G$ such that $|H_{i}:H_{i-1}|$ is a prime for $i=1,...,n$; $\Bbb{P}$-abnormal in $G$ if for every two subgroups $K\leq L$ of $G$, where $H\leq K$, $|L:K|$ is not a prime. In this paper we describe finite groups in which every non-identity subgroup is either $\Bbb{P}$-subnormal or $\Bbb{P}$-abnormal.

Some new characterizations of $PST$-groups

Let $H$ and $B$ be subgroups of a finite group $G$ such that $G=N_{G}(H)B$. Then we say that $H$ is \emph{quasipermutable} (respectively \emph{$S$-quasipermutable}) in $G$ provided $H$ permutes with $B$ and with every subgroup (respectively with every Sylow subgroup) $A$ of $B$ such that $(|H|, |A|)=1$. In this paper we analyze the influence of $S$-quasipermutable and quasipermutable subgroups on the structure of $G$. As an application, we give new characterizations of soluble $PST$-groups.

On the intersection of the $\cal F$-maximal subgroups and the generalized ${\cal F}$-hypercentre of a finite group

Let $\cal F$ be a class of groups. A chief factor $H/K$ of a group $G$ is called \emph{${\cal F}$-central in $G$} provided $(H/K)\rtimes (G/C_{G}(H/K)) \in {\cal F}$. We write $Z_{π{\cal F}}(G)$ to denote the product of all normal subgroups of $G$ whose $G$-chief factors of order divisible by at least one prime in $π$ are $\cal F$-central. We call $Z_{π{\cal F}}(G)$ the $π{\cal F}$-hypercentre of $G$. A subgroup $U$ of a group $G$ is called \emph{$\cal F$-maximal} in $G$ provided that (a) $U\in {\cal F}$, and (b) if $U\leq V\leq G$ and $V\in {\cal F}$, then $U=V$. In this paper we study the properties of the intersection of all $\cal F$-maximal subgroups of a finite group. In particular, we analyze the condition under which $Z_{π{\cal F}}(G)$ coincides with the intersection of all $\cal F$-maximal subgroups of $G$.

On a question of L.A. Shemetkov concerning the intersection of $\cal F$-maximal subgroups of finite groups

We investigate the influence of the intersection of the $\cal F$-maximal subgroups on the structure of a finite group. In particular, answering a question of L.A Shemetkov we give conditions under which a hereditary saturated formation $\cal F$ has a property that for any finite group $G$, the ${\cal F}$-hypercentre of $G$ coincides with the intersection of all $\cal F$-maximal subgroups of $G$.
