On some realizable metabelian 55-groups

Let GG be a 55-group of maximal class and γ2(G)=[G,G]γ_2(G) = [G, G] its derived group. Assume that the abelianization G/γ2(G)G/γ_2(G) is of type (5,5)(5, 5) and the transfers VH1→γ2(G)V_{H_1\to γ_2(G)} and VH2→γ2(G)V_{H_2\to γ_2(G)} are trivial, where H1H_1 and H2H_2 are two maximal normal subgroups of GG. Then GG is completely determined with the isomorphism class groups of maximal class. Moreover the group GG is realizable with some fields kk, which is the normal closure of a pure quintic field.

On the exact divisibility by 55 of the class number of some pure metacyclic fields

Let Γ = Q(n5)Γ\,=\, \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt[5]{n}) be a pure quintic field, where nn is a natural number 5th5^{th} power-free. Let k=Q(n5,ζ5)k = \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt[5]{n}, ζ_5), with ζ5ζ_5 is a primitive 5th5^{th} root of unit, be the normal closure of ΓΓ, and a pure metacyclic field of degree 2020 over Q\mathbb{Q}. When nn takes some particular forms, we show that ΓΓ admits a trivial 55-class group and 55 divides exactly the class number of kk.

The generators of 55-class group of some fields of degree 20 over Q\mathbb{Q}

Let Γ = Q(n5)Γ\,=\, \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt[5]{n}) be a pure quintic field, where nn is a positive integer, 5th5^{th} power-free. Let k0 = Q(ζ5)k_0\,=\,\mathbb{Q}(ζ_5) be the cyclotomic field containing a primitive 5th5^{th} root of unity ζ5ζ_5, and k = Γ(ζ5)k\,=\,Γ(ζ_5) be the normal closure of ΓΓ. Let Ck,5C_{k,5} be the 55-component of the class group of k. The purpose of this paper is to determine generators of Ck,5C_{k,5}, whenever it is of type (5,5)(5,5) and the rank of the group of ambiguous classes under the action of Gal(k/k0) = ⟨σ⟩Gal(k/k_0)\, =\,\langle σ\rangle is 11.

Let k5(1)k_5^{(1)} be the Hilbert 55-class field of kk, Ck,5C_{k,5} the 55-ideal classes group of kk, and Ck,5(σ)C_{k,5}^{(σ)} the group of ambiguous classes under the action of Gal(k/k0)Gal(k/k_0) = ⟨σ⟩\langleσ\rangle. When Ck,5C_{k,5} is of type (5,5)(5,5) and rank Ck,5(σ) = 1C_{k,5}^{(σ)}\,=\,1, we study the capitulation problem of the 55-ideal classes of Ck,5C_{k,5} in the six intermediate extensions of k5(1)/kk_5^{(1)}/k.

Let k = Q(n5,ζ5)k \,=\, \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt[5]{n},ζ_5), where nn is a positive integer, 5th5^{th} power-free, whose 5−5-class group is isomorphic to Z/5Z×Z/5Z\mathbb{Z}/5\mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{Z}/5\mathbb{Z}. Let k0 = Q(ζ5)k_0\,=\,\mathbb{Q}(ζ_5) be the cyclotomic field containing a primitive 5th5^{th} root of unity ζ5ζ_5. Let Ck,5(σ)C_{k,5}^{(σ)} the group of the ambiguous classes under the action of Gal(k/k0)Gal(k/k_0) = <σ><σ>. The aim of this paper is to determine all integers nn such that the group of ambiguous classes Ck,5(σ)C_{k,5}^{(σ)} has rank 11 or 22.

Principal factors and lattice minima

Let k=Q(d3,ζ3)\mathit{k}=\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt[3]{d},ζ_3), where d>1d>1 is a cube-free positive integer, k0=Q(ζ3)\mathit{k}_0=\mathbb{Q}(ζ_3) be the cyclotomic field containing a primitive cube root of unity ζ3ζ_3, and G=Gal⁡(k/k0)G=\operatorname{Gal}(\mathit{k}/\mathit{k}_0). The possible prime factorizations of dd in our main result [2, Thm. 1.1] give rise to new phenomena concerning the chain Θ=(θi)i∈ZΘ=(θ_i)_{i\in\mathbb{Z}} of \textit{lattice minima} in the underlying pure cubic subfield L=Q(d3)L=\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt[3]{d}) of k\mathit{k}. The aims of the present work are to give criteria for the occurrence of generators of primitive ambiguous principal ideals (α)∈PkG/Pk0(α)\in\mathcal{P}_{\mathit{k}}^G/\mathcal{P}_{\mathit{k}_0} among the lattice minima Θ=(θi)i∈ZΘ=(θ_i)_{i\in\mathbb{Z}} of the underlying pure cubic field L=Q(d3)L=\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt[3]{d}), and to explain exceptional behavior of the chain ΘΘ for certain radicands dd with impact on determining the principal factorization type of LL and k\mathit{k} by means of Voronoi's algorithm.

Capitulation in the absolutely abelian extensions of some number fields II

We study the capitulation of 22-ideal classes of an infinite family of imaginary biquadratic number fields consisting of fields k=Q(pq1q2,i)k =Q(\sqrt{pq_1q_2}, i), where i=−1i=\sqrt{-1} and q1≡q2≡−p≡−1(mod4)q_1\equiv q_2\equiv-p\equiv-1 \pmod 4 are different primes. For each of the three quadratic extensions K/kK/k inside the absolute genus field k(∗)k^{(*)} of kk, we compute the capitulation kernel of K/kK/k. Then we deduce that each strongly ambiguous class of k/Q(i)k/Q(i) capitulates already in k(∗)k^{(*)}.

Let GG be some metabelian 22-group satisfying the condition G/G′≃Z/2Z×Z/2Z×Z/2ZG/G'\simeq \mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}. In this paper, we construct all the subgroups of GG of index 22 or 44, we give the abelianization types of these subgroups and we compute the kernel of the transfer map. Then we apply these results to study the capitulation problem of the 22-ideal classes of some fields k\mathbf{k} satisfying the condition Gal(k2(2)/k)≃G\mathrm{G}al(\mathbf{k}_2^{(2)}/\mathbf{k})\simeq G, where k2(2)\mathbf{k}_2^{(2)} is the second Hilbert 22-class field of k\mathbf{k}.

Analysis of the Security of BB84 by Model Checking

Quantum Cryptography or Quantum key distribution (QKD) is a technique that allows the secure distribution of a bit string, used as key in cryptographic protocols. When it was noted that quantum computers could break public key cryptosystems based on number theory extensive studies have been undertaken on QKD. Based on quantum mechanics, QKD offers unconditionally secure communication. Now, the progress of research in this field allows the anticipation of QKD to be available outside of laboratories within the next few years. Efforts are made to improve the performance and reliability of the implemented technologies. But several challenges remain despite this big progress. The task of how to test the apparatuses of QKD For example did not yet receive enough attention. These devises become complex and demand a big verification effort. In this paper we are interested in an approach based on the technique of probabilistic model checking for studying quantum information. Precisely, we use the PRISM tool to analyze the security of BB84 protocol and we are focused on the specific security property of eavesdropping detection. We show that this property is affected by the parameters of quantum channel and the power of eavesdropper.
