Abstract

Let ππ be a set of primes. By H.Wielandt definition, {\it Sylow ππ-theorem} holds for a finite group GG if all maximal ππ-subgroups of GG are conjugate. In the paper, the following statement is proven. Assume that ππ is a union of disjoint subsets σσ and ττ and a finite group GG possesses a ππ-Hall subgroup which is a direct product of a σσ-subgroup and a ττ-subgroup. Furthermore, assume that both the Sylow σσ-theorem and ττ-theorem hold for GG. Then the Sylow ππ-theorem holds for GG. This result confirms a conjecture posed by H.\,Wielandt in~1959.
