On local equivalence of star-products on Poisson manifolds

We present a proof that every star-product defined on a Poisson manifold and written in a given quantum canonical coordinate system is uniquely equivalent with a Moyal product associated with this coordinate system. The equivalence is assumed to satisfy some additional conditions which guarantee its uniqueness. Moreover, the systematic construction of such equivalence is presented and a formula for this equivalence in a case of a particular class of star-products is given, to the fourth order in $\hbar$.

Separable quantizations of Stäckel systems

In this article we prove that many Hamiltonian systems that can not be separably quantized in the classical approach of Robertson and Eisenhardt can be separably quantized if we extend the class of admissible quantizations through a suitable choice of Riemann space adapted to the Poisson geometry of the system. Actually, in this article we prove that for every quadratic in momenta Stäckel system (defined on a 2n-dimensional Poisson manifold) for which the Stäckel matrix consists of monomials in position coordinates there exist infinitely many quantizations - parametrized by n arbitrary functions - that turn this system into a quantum separable Stäckel system.

Flat minimal quantizations of Stackel systems and quantum separability

In this paper, we consider the problem of quantization of classical Stäckel systems and the problem of separability of related quantum Hamiltonians. First, using the concept of Stäckel transform, all considered systems are expressed by flat coordinates of related Euclidean configuration space. Then, the so-called flat minimal quantization procedure is applied in order to construct an appropriate Hermitian operator in the respective Hilbert space. Finally, we distinguish a class of Stäckel systems which remains separable after any of admissible flat minimal quantizations.

Canonical quantization of classical mechanics in curvilinear coordinates. Invariant quantization procedure

In the paper is presented an invariant quantization procedure of classical mechanics on the phase space over flat configuration space. Then, the passage to an operator representation of quantum mechanics in a Hilbert space over configuration space is derived. An explicit form of position and momentum operators as well as their appropriate ordering in arbitrary curvilinear coordinates is demonstrated. Finally, the extension of presented formalism onto non-flat case and related ambiguities of the process of quantization are discussed.

Integrable quantum Stäckel systems

The Stäckel separability of a Hamiltonian system is well known to ensure existence of a complete set of Poisson commuting integrals of motion quadratic in the momenta. In the present paper we consider a class of Stäckel separable systems where the entries of the Stäckel matrix are monomials in the separation variables. We show that the only systems in this class for which the integrals of motion arising from the Stäckel construction keep commuting after quantization are, up to natural equivalence transformations, the so-called Benenti systems. Moreover, it turns out that the latter are the only quantum separable systems (that is, they admit separation of variables in the Schrödinger equation) in the class under study.

Natural star-products on symplectic manifolds and related quantum mechanical operators

In this paper is considered a problem of defining natural star-products on symplectic manifolds, admissible for quantization of classical Hamiltonian systems. First, a construction of a star-product on a cotangent bundle to an Euclidean configuration space is given with the use of a sequence of pair-wise commuting vector fields. The connection with a covariant representation of such a star-product is also presented. Then, an extension of the construction to symplectic manifolds over flat and non-flat pseudo-Riemannian configuration spaces is discussed. Finally, a coordinate free construction of related quantum mechanical operators from Hilbert space over respective configuration space is presented.

Canonical transformations in quantum mechanics

This paper presents the general theory of canonical transformations of coordinates in quantum mechanics. First, the theory is developed in the formalism of phase space quantum mechanics. It is shown that by transforming a star-product, when passing to a new coordinate system, observables and states transform as in classical mechanics, i.e., by composing them with a transformation of coordinates. Then the developed formalism of coordinate transformations is transferred to a standard formulation of quantum mechanics. In addition, the developed theory is illustrated on examples of particular classes of quantum canonical transformations.

Quantum trajectories

This paper presents a new approach to phase space trajectories in quantum mechanics. A Moyal description of quantum theory is used, where observables and states are treated as classical functions on a classical phase space. A quantum trajectory being an appropriate solution to quantum Hamiltonian equations is also a function defined on a classical phase space. The difference, when compare with classical theory, is in a deformation of a classical action of a flow on observables and states to an appropriate quantum action. This leads also to deformation of a multiplication rule for any quantum trajectory treated as a one-parameter group of diffeomorphisms. Moreover, several examples are given, presenting the developed formalism for particular quantum systems.

Phase Space Quantum Mechanics

The paper develop the alternative formulation of quantum mechanics known as the phase space quantum mechanics or deformation quantization. It is shown that the quantization naturally arises as an appropriate deformation of the classical Hamiltonian mechanics. More precisely, the deformation of the point-wise product of observables to an appropriate noncommutative $\star$-product and the deformation of the Poisson bracket to an appropriate Lie bracket is the key element in introducing the quantization of classical Hamiltonian systems. The considered class of deformations and the corresponding $\star$-products contains as a special cases all deformations which can be found in the literature devoted to the subject of the phase space quantum mechanics. Fundamental properties of $\star$-products of observables, associated with the considered deformations are presented as well. Moreover, a space of states containing all admissible states is introduced, where the admissible states are appropriate pseudo-probability distributions defined on the phase space. It is proved that the space of states is endowed with a structure of a Hilbert algebra with respect to the $\star$-multiplication. The most important result of the paper shows that developed formalism is more fundamental then the axiomatic ordinary quantum mechanics which appears in the presented approach as the intrinsic element of the general formalism. The equivalence of two formulations of quantum mechanics is proved by observing that the Wigner-Moyal transform has all properties of the tensor product. This observation allows writing many previous results found in the literature in a transparent way, from which the equivalence of the two formulations of quantum mechanics follows naturally.
