On the boundedness of non-standard rough singular integral operators

Let $Ω$ be homogeneous of degree zero, have vanishing moment of order one on the unit sphere $\mathbb {S}^{d-1}$($d\ge 2$). In this paper, our object of investigation is the following rough non-standard singular integral operator $$T_{Ω,\,A}f(x)={\rm p.\,v.}\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}\frac{Ω(x-y)}{|x-y|^{d+1}}\big(A(x)-A(y)-\nabla A(y)(x-y)\big)f(y){\rm d}y,$$ where $A$ is a function defined on $\mathbb{R}^d$ with derivatives of order one in ${\rm BMO}(\mathbb{R}^d)$. We show that $T_{Ω,\,A}$ enjoys the endpoint $L\log L$ type estimate and is $L^p$ bounded if $Ω\in L(\log L)^{2}(\mathbb{S}^{d-1})$. These resuts essentially improve the previous known results given by Hofmann for the $L^p$ boundedness of $T_{Ω,\,A}$ under the condition $Ω\in L^{q}(\mathbb {S}^{d-1})$ $(q>1)$, Hu and Yang for the endpoint weak $L\log L$ type estimates when $Ω\in {\rm Lip}_α(\mathbb{S}^{d-1})$ for some $α\in (0,\,1]$. Quantitative weighted strong and endpoint weak $L\log L$ type inequalities are proved whenever $Ω\in L^{\infty}(\mathbb {S}^{d-1})$. The analysis of the weighted results relies heavily on two bilinear sparse dominations of $T_{Ω,\,A}$ established herein.

Sparse domination and weighted estimates for rough bilinear singular integrals

Let $r>\frac{4}{3}$ and let $Ω\in L^{r}(\mathbb{S}^{2n-1})$ have vanishing integral. We show that the bilinear rough singular integral $$T_Ω(f,g)(x)= \textrm{p.v.} \int_{\mathbb{R}^n}\int_{\mathbb{R}^n}\frac{Ω((y,z)/|(y,z)|)}{|(y,z)|^{2n}}f(x-y)g(x-z)\,dydz,$$ satisfies a sparse bound by $(p,p,p)$-averages, where $p$ is bigger than a certain number explicitly related to $r$ and $n$. As a consequence we deduce certain quantitative weighted estimates for bilinear homogeneous singular integrals associated with rough homogeneous kernels.

A Padé approximant approach to two kinds of transcendental equations with applications in physics

In this paper, we obtain the analytical solutions of two kinds of transcendental equations with numerous applications in college physics by means of Lagrange inversion theorem, and rewrite them in the form of ratio of rational polynomials by second order Padé approximant afterwards from a practical and instructional perspective. Our method is illustrated in a pedagogical manner for the purpose that students at the undergraduate level will be beneficial. The approximate formulas introduced in the paper can be applied to abundant examples in physics textbooks, such as Fraunhofer single slit diffraction, Wien's displacement law and Schrödinger equation with single or double $δ$ potential. These formulas, consequently, can reach considerable accuracies according to the numerical results, therefore they promise to act as valuable ingredients in the standard teaching curriculum.

Numerical calculation of the Riemann zeta function at odd integer arguments: A direct formula method

In this article, we introduce a recurrence formula which only involves two adjacent values of the Riemann zeta function at integer arguments. Based on the formula, an algorithm to evaluate $ζ$-values(i.e. the values of Riemann zeta function) at odd-integers from the two nearest $ζ$-values at even-integers is posed and proved. The behavior of the error bound is $O(10^{-n})$ approximately where $n$ is the argument. Our method is especially powerful for the calculation of Riemann zeta function at large argument, while for smaller ones it can also reach spectacular accuracies such as more than ten decimal places.
